Summary: SAINT GENY (2) was an emphatic 11-length winner on debut at this track on May 1st and is expected to improve further—he’s the one to beat. OPERA LIGHT (3) followed a winning flat debut with a solid second over track and trip and looks the main danger. HIGH THE MOON (1) has run consistently in both hurdle starts and appeals as a solid each-way contender. IT’S GREAT (6) completes the shortlist and is worth keeping in mind.

- LORD CIERGUES – 6th on the last start over 3700m in a handicap hurdle at Le Lion D’Angers on May 29th. One to pay attention to
- LAME – Three unplaced runs, the most recent over 3550m at Fontainebleau in a Class 2 hurdle on December 10th. Fitness to prove and needs to show more despite a drop in class
- SPARUS – Four unplaced runs, the latest over 3000m at this track on the flat on May 24th. Hurdle form has been hardly inspiring
- DABASIR – 6th last time at Le Lion D’Angers in a handicap hurdle on May 6th over 3700m. Each way option
- SPRING WAY – Unplaced last time, a win before that over 3400m in a handicap hurdle at Nimes on February 15th. Can be competitive
- LUBIE D’OUDAIRIES – Three unplaced runs over hurdles, the latter over 3600m in a class 3 race at Senonnes on May 30th. Little to be enthusiastic about
- LA VOIX ROYALE – Placed on the last three runs, 2nd over 3500m in a claiming chase at Dax on June 1st on the last outing. Player
- LADYWA – Two tame efforts over hurdles, pulled up over 3400m at this track in a Class 4 race on June 4th. Makes no appeal
- FLORE DU RHEU – Fair 4th over 3700m in a Class 5 hurdle at Sable-Sur-Sarthe on May 25th. Has shown enough to win a race of this calibre
Summary: FLORE DU RHEU (10) ran a creditable race to be fourth in a Class 5 hurdle late in May at Sable-sur-Sarthe. She will be sharper for that run, and the drop in class can see her get off the mark. SPRING WAY (6) won a handicap hurdle at Nimes two runs back in February, and if in similar form, she can be involved. LA VOIX ROYALE (8) has been placed on her last three runs and is an option each way. LORD CIERGUES (2) is the best of the others.

- LA P’TITE SOEUR – Two unplaced efforts of late, failed to finish last time over 3800m at Lyon Parilly on April 19th in a Class 2 hurdle. Best watched for the time being

- RAFFLES HONOUR – Two unplaced runs this year, the latter over 3500m at Moulins on May 10th in a Class 3 hurdle. Pass over
- LABELLE MANS – Three unplaced runs over hurdles, 5th at Auteuil in a Class 3 hurdle on May 31st over 3500m. Flat winner on only start. Consider if back to form

- JUMPANJIVE – 2nd on her last start over 3800m at Niort in a Class 4 hurdle on May 25th. More needed in a stronger race
Summary: LIBRE PENSEE (11) has been absent since finishing sixth last December when tackling Group 3 AQ Class on the flat. Two wins before that in November looked promising, and this filly can get off to a good start on her hurdles debut. BUBBLE PRETTY (2) could be the main threat; she shaped well to be third in a Class 3 hurdle at Lat Teste earlier this month, and has more improvement. PEN CASTEL (4) looks good on paper, and he is one to consider on debut. DSCHINGIS TOKEN (3) heads the rest.

- HIRSON – 5th two runs back at Compiegne in a Class 2 handicap chase on April 7th. One to keep onside

- I AM A DOCTOR – Shaped well to be 3rd over 4000m at Orleans in a Class 5 chase on June 1st. Drop in class should be noted
- I’M SUPER QUICK – Two unplaced runs this year, the latest over 4200m at La Roche-sur-Yon on April 13th in a Class 4 chase. Unlikely to threaten
- JARATATA DU DORAT – Placed 3rd on the last two runs, the latter over 4000m in a claiming chase at Orleans on June 1st. Makes limited appeal
- LE VIKING – Fair 4th over 3600m in a claiming hurdle at Auteuil on May 27th. Now tries fences and warrants respect
Summary: I AM A DOCTOR (8) was a decent third at Orleans in a Class 5 chase 18 days ago, and the drop in class today is a positive. He can get his first chase success. LE VIKING (11) ran with credit when fourth over hurdles at Auteuil late in May and should have the scope to jump a fence. HIRSON (5) is one for the each-way players to latch on to, and ran well two runs back in a Class 2 handicap chase in April. STERNKRANZ (7) is exposed but looks best of the rest.

- PLECTROPHANE BLEU – Won on the last start over 3900m at Wissembourg on May 1st in a Class 4 chase. The switch to hurdles should not be an inconvenience
- J’EXCEL – Three unplaced runs of late, the latest over 3900m at Auteuil in a Class 3 handicap hurdle on May 18th. Opposable
- SPILOU – Unplaced last time, a win before that over 3900m in a handicap hurdle at Auteuil on November 18th. Might find a few too smart
- BALMORAL – Credible 3rd over 3600m at Auteuil on May 31st in a handicap hurdle on his last start. Among the leading each -way options

- TRUBLION – Two unplaced efforts of late, 8th at Auteuil in a claiming hurdle on May 8th over 3600m on the most recent. Unlikely to trouble the principles
- KING OF FREEDOM – 7th last time, 4th previously over 3600m at Auteuil in a Class 1 handicap hurdle. Can be involved at nice odds

- JUNGLE SEA – 4th on the last run over 3800m in a Class 4 claiming hurdle at Chateaubriant on June 8th. Might find this difficult
Summary: IPHIS DE L’AUNAY (3) produced a solid effort when runner-up in a 3600m handicap hurdle at Auteuil in late May and is fancied to go one better this time. BOB MORANE (5) looks a live danger following a good fourth at Nancy just under two weeks ago. HENRY BRULARD (4), a winner at Auteuil three starts ago, retains solid claims and should be involved. NOLIVER (1) is consistent and, despite carrying top weight, should be firmly in the mix.

- TIPPERARY SUNSET – Credible 2nd over 3600m at Compiegne on May 26th in a Class 3 hurdle on his last start. Capable of making the top four
- MAGIC FLIGHT – Placed 2nd on his last two runs, the latter over 3600m in a Listed hurdle at Auteuil on May 27th. Sets the standard

- NARUTO – Fair 2nd last time over 3800m at this track in a Class 3 hurdle on June 4th. Outside place chance

- JEUNE SOLDAT – Unplaced last time, 3rd before that at Auteuil over 3600m in a Class 2 handicap hurdle on April 26th. Among the leading contenders
Summary: MAGIC FLIGHT (5) has been knocking on the door with back-to-back runner-up efforts, the latest coming in a Listed hurdle at Auteuil last month, and he’s taken to go one better. HAMANDIO (8) arrives in top form chasing a hat-trick and should make another bold bid. KEL STORY (11) boasts strong credentials, having won a Class 1 handicap and placed in a Listed event—both at Auteuil in May—and must be respected. JEUNE SOLDAT (16) is well treated at the weights and could sneak into the frame.

C1 – PRIX DE MANERBE – 2450m (a1m1/2) – Class E Race – Mounted – EUR € 21,000
- LOOPING PEJI – Pulled-up on comeback in a 2775m Class E at Les Sables-d’Olonne on 3 June. Shoes back on and can be dismissed
- LOTUS DU RIB – Back in the code after faulting in a 2675m harness Class F at Le Mont-Saint-Michel 3 weeks ago. Unlikely to get his nose in front but can play a small part if he keeps trotting
- LE RIVAGE – Switches code after registering a 3rd successive sanction, latterly in a 2675m Erbray harness Class F 12 days ago. Is undeniably capable, races unshod-behind, and should not be ruled out
- LOTUS DES CHAMPS – Unseen since being sanctioned in a Class E over course and distance late-March. Shoes on and best to keep one’s powder dry
- LARGO WIND – Won 2 on the trot prior to running 2nd of 6 finishers to LOOK DU PARCQ (9) in a 2850m Lyon-Parilly Class F on 24 May. Is clearly in competition-mode and must be considered a leading contender
- LEONARDO PASS – 3rd of 10 to LARGO DE LA BESSE (10) in a 2875m Argentan Class E on ridden bow late last month. Looks a better prospect in this discipline and will have his supporters
- LAMBO DE LEAU – Makes first public appearance in the discipline after finishing last of 7 in a 3125m Angers harness Class E last week. Is not devoid of ability but cannot be considered a priority
- LEON DU RIB – Imposed in Elbeuf before running 2nd of 10 to LARGO DE LA BESSE (10) in a 2875m Argentan Class E on 25 May. Has disappointed just once in this branch of the business and can again finish close
- LOOK DU PARCQ – Won 2 of 3 under the saddle, most recently a 2850m Lyon-Parilly Class F on 24 May. Steps up in category but has earned the right to race here and will not be far from the action if he turns
- LARGO DE LA BESSE – Made short work of a 2875m Argentan Class E on monte debut late last month. Comes to Caen with morale intact and, if applied, can confirm
- L’ONCLE SAM – Sanctioned when prepping for this in a 3125m Angers harness Class E on 10 June. Ran 2nd on lone start at the venue and is easy to like for a place in the frame
Summary: Comfortable winner on his ridden bow last month, the well-engaged LARGO DE LA BESSE (10) will be partnered by Adrien Lamy again and is in with a decent shout of repeating. LEON DU RIB (8), who sports front pads this time, ran 2nd that day and should again figure prominently, but may first have to see off the promising and progressive LARGO WIND (5) who is shod as he was when victorious at Le Mont-Saint-Michel in April. Just 350 Euros from elimination, and competitively-shod this time, it is hard to ignore L’ONCLE SAM (11).

C2 – PRIX DE FEUGUEROLLES – 2200m (a1m1/2) – Class E Amateur Riders Race – Harness – EUR € 21,000 - KERAMIDA – Disappointing for some time, latterly sanctioned in a 3050m Montlucon Class E 3 weeks ago, and will have nothing to offer
- KALINKA DU HOME – Returned to the winners’ circle late last month when securing a 2150m Vichy Class F. Is plainly back on the right road and can bring the fight to KALICINE (7)
- KISS ME DUTOLLEM – Respectable 4th of 8 in a 2500m Reims Class E on 1 June. Seldom gets her nose in front but consistently gives her best and on good behaviour will not be far off the mark
- KERRA UP STAR – Has raced just twice this year, most recently 6th of 14 in a 2850m Laval Class E in late-April. Has had ample time to recover and from the 4-spot will be one to keep an eye on
- KALINE DE LA COUR – Complicated but quality mare that won a 3100m Class F at Nort-sur-Erdre 10 days ago. Has never disappointed when focused and with application will be no soft touch
- KAPELLA FABULET – Imposed at Argentan prior to running 6th of 8 behind KISS ME DUTOLLEM (3) in a 2500m Reims Class E on 1 June. Is seldom far from springing a surprise and must be respected
- KALICINE – Won a 2700m Class F at Le Croise-Laroche 2.5 weeks ago. Is new to Caen but has nothing to prove in this category and can win this if she takes to the new profile
- KADABRA – Ran 4th over course and distance before finishing 9th of 13 in a 2675m Erbray Class F on 7 June. Shoes off for return to Caen and is expected to redeem herself
- KIARA DE ZIETTE – Reassuring 3rd of 14 in a 2400m Chateaubriant Class F on 8 June. Goes barefoot again and, despite the draw, can still get a look-in
- KIBELLE DE VIETTE – Surprise 4th of 14 in a 2400m Chateaubriant Class F 11 days ago. Starts on back row and a repeat seems most improbable
- KANELLE LA RAVELLE – A write-off all year, latterly sanctioned in a 2675m Erbray Class F on 7 June, and can be confidently ruled out
- KISSABELLA – Last of 8 in a 2400m Amiens Class E a week ago. Seems a long way off her best and is not about to create an upset
Summary: Clearly back at the top of her game, KALICINE (7) placed on her lone start with her apprentice and, reconfigured for the occasion, has a decent chance of confirming her recent success. She will nevertheless feel the heat from KALINKA DU HOME (2) who boasts similar recent form, and the erratic but talented KALINE DE LA COUR (5) who enjoys an excellent spot behind the car. KADABRA (8) left a good impression here last month and racing barefoot for the first time can make up for her Erbray performance.

Has evident ability though and, barefoot for the first time, is not incapable of spoiling the party
- KOMMODORE – Sanctioned in last 3, latterly a 2725m Lisieux harness Class E on 8 June, and returns to the ridden code with nothing to offer
- KARL DU CHATELET – Tricky sort that has not been seen out since finishing 6th of 7 in a 2850m Laval Class F in late-March and is not about to shake things up
- KASTELBRAC – Surprise 4th over track and trip before being sanctioned in a 2700m Erbray Class F on 7 June. With application though can get a look-in
- KIND OF MUSIC – 6th of 12, on monte debut, in a 2950m Vichy Class E last week and has a reasonable chance of repeating
- KANANN – Last of 14 in a 2575m Gournay-en-Bray harness claimer 11 days ago. Disappointing for the most part since last autumn and can be ruled out
- KARL LEWIS – 5th of 7 finishers in a 2725m Lisieux harness Class E on 8 June. Has placed just once in 6 monte starts and will struggle to make his presence felt
- KINGSLEY ROBSEN – Good dual-discipline sort that ran 4th of 9 finishers in a 2700m harness Class F at Le Croise-Laroche Class F on 2 June. Sports modified shoeing but can still play a part
- KARGO DE NUIT – Returns to the discipline after running 9th of 11 when being conditioned for this in a 2550m Gournay harness Class F 10 days ago. Should take well to Caen conditions and can keep his undefeated monte record intact
- KITALIANO ALGREF – 9th of 11 in a 2100m Vincennes harness Class E last Friday. Out of the picture for almost 2 years and has no realistic chance
- KAID DES CHAMPS – Has taken well to his new vocation, most recently 4th of 13 behind KENZO DE CLOPEAU (13) in a 3000m Chateaubriant Class F 11 days ago. Unlikely to win this but should nevertheless play an active role
- KAMALIS – Back under the saddle after running 6th of 10 in a 2550m Gournay harness Class F 10 days ago. Stays shod but most certainly has the wherewithal to finish close
- KENZO DE CLOPEAU – 2nd of 13, on return from a spell, in a 3000m Chateaubriant Class F 11 days ago. Will have come on for the run and is unlikely to be far off the mark
- KARALY – Just headed in a 2725m Lisieux Class E on 8 June. Never far from faulting but in current condition will be expected to contest the finish
Summary: With a pair of return runs under his belt, and unbeaten in both ridden starts to date, KARGO DE NUIT (9) takes his chances at Caen for the first time and, barefoot for the occasion, will be a tough nut to crack. He will still be opposed by the well-engaged KARALY (14) whose recent Lisieux performance stands him in good stead, and KAMALIS (12) whose introduction to the code last month was most encouraging. KENZO DE CLOPEAU (13) has yet to produce the goods at Caen but a repeat of his Chateaubriant effort would see him finish close once more.

C4 – PX ROYAL PALM BEACHCOMBER LUXURY (ROSEL) – 2200m (a1m1/2) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 21,000 - LUTECE D’OUVILLE – Made amends for late-May sanction when victorious in a 2550m Gournay-en-Bray Class F 11 days ago and although starting on the rail, she has been reconfigured and looks a decent first-5 chance
- LEXI BIRDIE – Lost her maiden tag at Villedieu-les-Poëles before running 2nd of 14 in a 2400m Amiens Class F a month back. Decently-placed behind the car and steps up in category with legitimate ambition
- LARA VRIE – Last of 9 in a 2400m Amiens Class E on 26 May and can be confidently passed over
- LANDE D’ERABLE – Reverts to Cherbourg formula after running 6th of 16 in a 2700m Graignes Class F 2 weeks ago. Has yet to deliver at Caen but it is only a matter of time
- LIZZY VENESI – 5th of 11 finishers in a Class E over course and distance 3 weeks ago. Takes on a more reasonable bunch this time and Yoann Lebourgeois can be confident of a big run
- LILOU – Sanctioned, on return to competition, in a 2800m Villedieu-les-Poëles Class F on 25 May. Shoes on again and poses no threat
- L’ANSE NOIRE – Got off the mark at Gournay-en-Bray before running an unlucky 4th of 14 in a 2400m Amiens Class F a week ago. Starts in front and will be no pushover if kept out of trouble
- LEANE DU PARC – 4th of 10 finishers in a Class F over course and distance in late-May. Is not about to lose her maiden status but should nevertheless hold her own
- LEA GIBUS – Progressive type that was beaten only by a very good horse in a 2875m Argentan Class E on 25 May. Will have come on for the run and although handed a tough draw, must be regarded a leading contender
- LATINA PLANCHETTE – Sanctioned in a 2725m Graignes Class F 3.5 weeks ago and can expect to have few, if any, friends in the markets
- LARISSE D’ECHAL – Sanctioned as often as not, latterly in a 2650m Class F at Gournay-en-Bray on 3 June. Francois Lagadeuc at the helm this time though and merits attention
- LADY KEPLER – 4th of 9 in a 2550m Reims Class F 10 days ago. Has yet to produce the goods at Caen and is not about to start
- LALE – Courageous 3rd of 11 in a 2650m Class F at Les Sables d’Olonne on 3 June. Is plainly close to her race and Franck Ouvrie will be keen to deliver
- LADY ROCK – Failed to confirm Bihorel victory when 3rd of 12 to LUTECE D’OUVILLE (1) in a 2550m Gournay-en-Bray Class F on 8 June. Steps up in category though and will need to pull out all the stops
- LUEUR MAJYC – Sanctioned in all 3 starts this year, latterly a 2600m Meslay-du-Maine Class E mid-May, and is unlikely to create an upset
- LUMINA DES VAUX – 5th of 9 finishers in a 2400m Amiens monte Class F a week ago. Badly positioned on 2nd line and has no possible chance
Summary: Most impressive on her return from a good rest, LEA GIBUS (9) has not been blessed with a good draw but she has bags of ability and can win this if Antoine Lhérété positions her early. He will still want to be wary of L’ANSE NOIRE (7) who has been acquitting herself competitively so far this year, and the better-placed LIZZY VENESI (5) who put in a solid effort here late last month. LALE (13) has hardly put a foot wrong since travelling south and despite the draw must be considered a player.

- JOULE DE LA FYE – 7th of 16 when preparing for this in a 2675m harness Class F at Le Mont-Saint-Michel late last month. Goes barefoot as he was when successful at Meslay and with application is unlikely to disappoint
- JASMINE DE FORGAN – Surprise 3rd of 10 in a 2850m Laval Class F a fortnight ago. Appears to be back on track and a similar performance would see her pick up another place cheque
- JAGUAR PIYA – Back under the saddle after 2 harness return runs, latterly last of 11 in a 3000m Nantes Class E on 2 June. Excels at Caen and even with front pads fitted can challenge for the win
- JET BESP – Imposed at Gournay before running 4th of 9 in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class G a fortnight ago. Has more to find but should nonetheless acquit himself competitively
- HASARD BLOND – In the frame in last 2 under harness, latterly 3rd of 11 in a 2350m Angers amateurs Class G last week. Shoes back on though and best to wait
- ISIDORE BONHEUR – 6th of 11 when being conditioned in a 3150m Abbeville Class H 3 weeks ago. Shod to preference this time but still not a priority
- JADE DU CEDRE – Quality mare but sanctioned in last 2, most recently a 2675m Class G at Le Mont-Saint-Michel 3 weeks back. Not everyone’s cup of tea but with application should shake things up
- JEZABEL MAHCATH – Left a good impression when 3rd of 11 in a 2950m Vichy Class E on 11 May. Is well-engaged here and looks the obvious choice
- HIJO MOKO – Switches code after running 6th of 12 in a 2100m Vincennes amateurs Class G on 10 June. Adrien Lamy onboard but still not a concern
Summary: JEZABEL MAHCATH (10) put in a very good performance at Vichy last month, appreciates Caen, and in this company will not be easy to oppose. That said, JAGUAR PIYA (5) won his last 2 Caen starts and after a brace of re-entry runs will be sporting front pads. In terms of ability, JADE DU CEDRE (9) is clearly the most accomplished and has been reconfigured in her bid to reassure. Shod as she was at Laval recently, JASMINE DE FORGAN (4) will not be available at 70/1 this time.

C6 – PRIX DE SAINT-MARTIN – 2200m (a1m1/2) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 21,000 - LABRAX DU SKY – Complicated trotter making first appearance since being sanctioned in a 2700m Vincennes Class E mid-January and is going to need the race
- LASCAUX DU PERCHE – Returns to racing with front pads after being sanctioned in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class E on 8 June. Has been handed a good draw though and must not be overlooked
- LE BIBI DAIRPET – Last of 12 in a 3000m Nantes Class D 2.5 weeks ago. Sports modified shoeing but still not a concern
- LORD EOLE – Sprang a 43/1 surprise when 2nd of 12 in a 2725m Graignes Class F on 23 May. Leading driver in the bike this time and a similar effort would see him win this
- LORENZO DE BUCY – Pleased on re-entry before finishing last of 9 behind LORD LA GAUCHERIE (10) in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class E on 8 June. Well-placed in front but is unlikely to influence the outcome
- L’ART DU SOLLIER – 5th of 11 finishers in a 2400m Amiens Class E, when shod, on 26 May. Shoes off this time and is well-placed to give this a good go. Chance
- LE PRINCE – Tricky but talented sort making first appearance since being sanctioned in a 3000m Marseille-Borely Class D mid-March and is not about to spice things up
- LOOK DES ECUS – Made up for a pair of sanctions when 2nd of 13 in a 2650m Class F at Les Sables-d’Olonne early this month. Starts wide but will not be sent out at 72/1 this time. First 5
- LORD DU VIVIER – In the frame in 2 of last 3, latterly 2nd of 8 in a Class F over course and distance on 31 May. Caught the eye that day and will be dangerous if Cedric Terry successfully navigates the start
- LORD LA GAUCHERIE – 8th of 9 finishers in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class E on 8 June. Sports a new configuration for the occasion and has a reasonable chance of picking up some prizemoney
- LIOR DE SASSY – Consistent sort that ran 4th of 8 behind LORD DU VIVIER (9) in a Class F over course and distance on 31 May. Unlikely to win this but can still challenge for a place on the podium
- LIKE DAD – Sanctioned, on return from a spell, in a 3000m Le Neuborg Class F 10 days ago. Not ideally-drawn, has no right-handed credentials, and a minor place chance at best
- LOULOU DU PRATEL – Honest type that was sanctioned in a 3000m Le Neuborg Class F 10 days ago. Takes a hike in category and others easier to back
Summary: Ideally-placed on the front line and clearly in form, LORD EOLE (4) has been entrusted to Yoann Lebourgeois this time and has every chance of opening his 2025 account. He will still feel the heat from a reconfigured, but unfavourably-drawn, LORD DU VIVIER (9) who left a very good impression here late last month, and L’ART DU SOLLIER (6) who races barefoot following an encouraging effort at Amiens. LIOR DE SASSY (11) consistently gives everything he has and his recent run behind Cedric Terry’s horse did not go unnoticed.

C7 – PRIX D’HOULGATE – 2450m (a1m1/2) – Class F Race – Harness – EUR € 27,000 - IROISE DES BAULTS – 5th of 15 in a 2725m Avranches amateurs Class H last Sunday. In this company however, has no possible chance
- INDIANA TESS – Respectable 4th of 17 in a 2800m Pontchateau Class F 2 weeks ago. Is less competitively-shod this time but is still worth retaining
- INDULGENTE – Last of 12 in a 2175m Vincennes Class D 12 days ago, after having run 3rd over 2200m here. Not a priority but will generate some interest
- IDOLE STAR – Comfortable winner of a 2700m Class F at La Capelle late last month. In better company this time but will still be expected to play an active part
- ICE HAUFOR – 6th of 16 in a 2825m Durtal Class E on 1 June. Won for her driver earlier in the year and, if focused, will be no pushover
- HALAFOLY ROBSEN – Returns to professional ranks after winning a 2575m Saint-Brieuc amateurs Class F last Saturday. Always gives her best but would be preferred a level down
- HALIZEE DES ISLES – Trounced in last 2, most recently last of 14 in a 2700m Thouars Class H 10 days ago. Shoes back on and can be passed over
- IDOLE JALLERIE – Unthreatening but reassuring 5th of 13 in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class F on 8 June. Sports 4 pads for just the 2nd time but a repeat of her recent finish would see her competitive for a first-5 cheque
- HIGH MONEY D’AVRAN – Out of the picture in all 5 starts this year, most recently 9th of 11 in a 2700m Avranches Class H last Sunday, and can be confidently disregarded
- INES DE FAEL – Had her way at Vichy prior to coming 3rd of 14 in a 2800m Class F at Villedieu-les-Poëles on 25 May. Yet to deliver at Caen but in current condition is very easy to recommend
- HASCHELEY BERRY – Disappointing at Reims before finishing last of 10 in a 2900m Arras Class G 10 days ago, and is not about to spring any surprises
- IDEALE DE LA COMTE – Has struggled since the winter break, latterly last of 13 in a 3000m Le Neuborg Class H 10 days ago. Has decent references in good company, and has been re-shod, and it is just a question of time before she gets back in the game
- IRONIE DE CHENU – 4th of 8 finishers, when preparing for this, in a 3000m Nantes Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Has conditions in her favour here and looks the one to beat
Summary: Impressive when barefoot, and consistently in the thick of things when focused, the nicely-engaged IRONIE DE CHENU (13) has never disappointed at Caen and is in with a realistic shout of imposing. David Thomain will still be mindful of INES DE FAEL (10) who has not put a foot wrong for the past 2.5 months, and the reconfigured ICE HAUFOR (5) who has been reunited with Yoann Lebourgeois. IDOLE STAR (4) got back down to business at La Capelle late last month and is not going to be far off the mark.

C8 – PRIX D’OSMANVILLE – 2200m (a1m1/2) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 27,000 - JANNIG D’EREVAN – Sanctioned when preparing for this in a 2825m Sable-sur-Sarthe Class E on 25 May. Never easy to handle but on good behaviour can make a big impact
- JURAC DE VALFORG – Won 2 of last 3, most recently a 2850m Class F at Rostrenen 11 days ago. Is behind in earnings and looks the pick of the field
- JOSVIL – Ran very good 2nd of 9 finishers in a 2150m Toulouse Class E on 6 June. Has decent speed, enjoys a good draw, and will be expected to finish close
- JEKILL ROCQ – Back under harness after finishing 5th of 6 in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class G 2 weeks ago, but in this company will struggle to make his presence felt
- JERZINO VICI – Faces first real objective of the season after finishing last but one behind JOUR DE GLOIRE (8) in a Class D over track and trip late last month. Has a lot going for him this time and must be respected
- JASMIN DANOVER – Last of 9 in a 2450m Class E here late last month and returns to the harness code with nothing to contribute
- JOKER DU PONT – Sanctioned in 2 of last 3, most recently a 3175m Saint-Omer Class F on 1 June, but is plainly in shape and with application can get in on the action
- JOUR DE GLOIRE – Returns to Caen after finishing last but one in a 2175m Vincennes Class D 12 days ago. Shoes off this time and can play a small role
- JUST A MAN – Ran 4th at Graignes before coming 3rd of 13 to JURAC DE VALFORG (2) in a 2850m Class F at Rostrenen 11 days ago. Has placed in 1 of 2 here, has been reconfigured for the occasion, and despite the draw can finish close
- JAZZ – Kicked the year off nicely but has since lost his way, latterly 10th of 15 in a 2800m Vire Class D on 8 June, and the draw does nothing to aid his plight
- JOUR D’ERABLE – Sanctioned in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class F 10 days ago. Has done nothing noteworthy for some time and can be passed over
Summary: With victory in Rostrenen earlier this month, JURAC DE VALFORG (2) took his win-rate past the 50 percent mark and from the 2-spot has every chance of making his Caen debut a winning one. JANNIG D’EREVAN (1) on the other hand has 2 runs under his belt since the winter break, imposed last time here, and will be no easy touch if Sébastien Ernault keeps him focused. Nicely-positioned in front, JERZINO VICI (5) will be reined by Yoann Lebourgeois this time and will be competitive, as will a freshly-configured JOSVIL (3) who encouraged at Toulouse a fortnight ago.
