R1 VIRE [R-H]

C1 – PRIX BAR-PMU AU VIEUX PUITS – VILLERS-BOCAGE – 2800m (a2m) – Class F Race – Harness – EUR € 17,500

  1. LORD DU GRAIS – Sanctioned on re-entry in a 2775m Craon Class F last Sunday. Imposed on debut here last season but is going to need another race
  2. LE ROI – 6th of 7 finishers in a 3000m Class H at Neuillé-Pont-Pierre a month back and even from the front row has no possible chance
  3. LE MANERET – Pleasant 4th of 12 in a 2500m Bihorel-lès-Rouen Class H late last month. Hind shoes back on and already looks out of his depth
  4. LALDO LOUZEEN – Got off the mark at Gournay a month ago before running 6th of 12 in a 3000m Class H at Le Neuborg 2.5 weeks ago. Is reunited with Yoann Lebourgeois though and must be taken more seriously
  5. LOUXOR DU PONT – Failed to confirm Vitre performance when last of 10 in a 2150m Ranes Class H on 9 June, and can expect to have few friends
  6. LACSAP DREAM – In the frame in last 2, latterly 2nd of 10 in a 3125m Granville Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Pitted against a better bunch this time but goes barefoot and should not let the side down
  7. LAMA DE CORDAY – Returns to a track he adores after finishing last but one in a 2200m Caen Class F on 31 May. Is proven at this level and looks a serious proposition
  8. LE VOLONTAIRE – Sanctioned in last 4, latterly a 2775m Craon Class F last Sunday. Has ability but others still easier to trust
  9. LISTAO – Sanctioned when being conditioned in a 2400m Amiens Class F a fortnight ago. Front pads fitted this time but would still be preferred racing left-handed
  10. LOOK DE CARA – Starts for first time since running 2nd of 7 finishers in a 2400m Amiens Class F on 7 April. Plainly has potential and if sufficiently tuned-up can finish in the mix
  11. LE PRINCE DE JYR – Won a 3000m Chateaubriant Class F earlier this month. Raffin has maintained faith and pulling off the double would be no surprise
  12. LUXURY DU DOUAROU – Showed his form at Reims before being sanctioned in a 2800m Rambouillet Class F late last month. Will appreciate the return to a hard surface and, plainly in competition-mode, represents a decent place prospect
  13. LE BOIS JOSSELYN – Won 2 of last 3, most recently a 2750m Class F at Le Grand-Fougeray on 29 May. Will not be inconvenienced by return to a hard surface and, given the entry, must be considered a player
Summary: A thorough professional since his March debut, LE PRINCE DE JYR (11) recently imposed on his first start with Eric Raffin in the bike and will be justifiably well-supported for a repeat. That said, LAMA DE CORDAY (7) boasts a fine Vire record and will not be disposed of easily. Nicely-entered here, barefoot, and very hard to fault, LE BOIS JOSSELYN (13) can again finish close. Barefoot for just the second time LUXURY DU DOUAROU (12) will be expected to make amends for faulting at Rambouillet.

    C2 – PRIX BAR-PMU BISTROT SAINT-JEAN – FLERS – 2800m (a2m) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 23,000
  14. KOBRA JENILOU – Left a very good impression when 3rd of 8 finishers in a 2875m Argentan Class E a month ago. Has done nothing but improve and must be afforded significant respect
  15. KEMISSORO – Unraced since being sanctioned in a 3000m Nantes Class F last December and has no possible chance
  16. KOOL D’AUBERVILLE – Sanctioned in last 2, most recently a 2600m Morlaix Class F 10 days ago, and is unlikely to generate much interest
  17. KING OF CHARM – 6th of 11 in a 2400m Chateaubriant Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Has 3 runs under his belt by now and from the front line has a decent chance of making first 5
  18. KENZO DE LA FYE – Pleasant 5th of 15 in a 2575m Gournay claimer 2.5 weeks ago but in this company will have too much to do
  19. KENAVO RUSH – Quality element that has struggled this term, most recently sanctioned in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class F on 9 June. Races barefoot for the occasion and it is only a matter of time before he comes good again
  20. KISSY BAMBOIS – In the frame in 3 of last 4, latterly a 2550m Gournay Class F on 9 June. Takes on a better lot here but should nevertheless hold his own
  21. KRONOS DES LANDES – Disappointing on the whole this year, most recently last but one in a 2625m Cherbourg Class E 10 days ago, and can be passed over
  22. KID SMILE – Unremarkable 5th of 7 finishers, on re-entry, in a 2800m Strasbourg Class G 10 days ago, and appears to need another run
  23. KOWEIT – Has not been seen out since coming 3rd of 15 in a 2750m Cabourg Class F last December. Appreciates Vire but best to wait
  24. KAPTAIN DE L’OCEAN – Returns to racing with hind shoes off after running 4th of 12 in a 2800m Bernay Class E mid-month. Sanctioned on lone Vire start but is not incapable of getting a look-in
  25. KALAWAT – Useful type that ran 2nd of 15 in a 3500m Savigny-sur-Braye Class F 10 days ago. Benefits from a good entry on the front line and is unlikely to disappoint
  26. KING BLACK DANOVER – Unexceptional 8th of 15 in a 2350m Angers Class E a fortnight ago and from the 2nd row is unlikely to trouble the judge
  27. KOKA RIGHT – Tenacious 2nd of 12 in a 2400m Amiens Class E on 12 June. Trainer back in the bike this time but still looks the one to beat
  28. KANDAR JIEL – Sanctioned here before losing all chance at the start of a 2500m Reims Class E on 1 June, but will not be far off the mark if David Thomain gets him off on the right foot
  29. KENAVO TUILERIE – Sanctioned in a 2950m Vichy Class E last week. Has a lot going for him here and Eric Raffin will be keen to oblige
Summary: Most convincing at Amiens a fortnight ago, KOKA RIGHT (14) has to incur the penalty but is still very easy to like here. Ideally-engaged at the limit of earnings, KENAVO TUILERIE (16) excels with Eric Raffin and looks a serious proposition. Better than recent results would suggest, KANDAR JIEL (15) sports modified shoeing and must be taken seriously, as should the progressive KOBRA JENILOU (1) who enjoys a 25m head start.

    C3 – PRIX DANIEL MOQUET – SOULEUVRE EN BOCAGE – 2800m (a2m) – Class F Race – Harness – EUR € 17,500
  30. LOUMARIA DU VIADUC – Made up for 3 straight sanctions when 3rd of 12 in a 2700m Graignes Class F 11 days ago. Shoes on this time though and best to keep one’s powder dry
  31. LUCY GIBUS – 5th of 12 behind LA PRODIGE (10) in a 2550m Gournay-en-Bray Class F on 9 June. Has ground to make up but with Franck Nivard reining will be afforded every chance
  32. LIVERPOOL DU TAY – 7th of 9 finishers in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class F earlier this month and can expect to remain friendless in the markets
  33. LAMILA LA HURETRY – Got off the mark in April but failed to confirm when 8th of 11 finishers behind LINA DE BASSIERE (14) in a 2800m Cholet Class F on 13 May, and will need to find considerably more
  34. LILI MARLEEN – Has not been seen since winning a 2675m Le Mont-Saint-Michel Class F on 27 April, first time out. Will have freshness on her side and could well double up
  35. LUEUR DE PLAY – Failed to confirm Bihorel performance when sanctioned in a 2150m Ranes Class H on 9 June. On the front row but still not an obvious choice
  36. LUTINE DU CEDRE – Last of 13 in a 2700m Class E here on 19 May. Breaks in front, with David Thomain reining, and with application can finish close
  37. LAMYA DES LANDES – Disappointing so far this season, most recently last of 9 in a 2400m Amiens Class F 2.5 weeks ago, and appears to have limited prospects
  38. LANIA DU MESLE – 5th of 10 finishers in a 2150m Ranes Class H on 9 June and would be preferred at a lower level
  39. LA PRODIGE – 2nd of 12 in a 2550m Gournay-en-Bray Class F on 9 June. Could not have asked for a better entry and with Yoann Lebourgeois in the bike should be competitive for the win
  40. LA BELLE VIE – Showed improvement when 6th of 18 in a 2200m Caen Class F late last month. Is competitively-shod for first time and despite the penalty still looks competitively well-in
  41. LOLITA DU MIREL – Back under harness after finishing last of 12 in a 2700m Graignes monte Class F 3 weeks ago. Has not been firing on all cylinders recently but, considering the opposition, can play a prominent part
  42. LADY DU JOUR – 2nd of 12 in a 2600m Plestin-Les Grèves Class F on 18 May. Has had time to recover, is freshly re-shod, and will be worth keeping an eye on
  43. LINA DE BASSIERE – Runner-up in 2 of last 3, most recently a 3125m Granville Class F 2.5 weeks ago. On back row but is entrusted to Francois Lagadeuc who will assure her a competitive drive. Place chance
  44. LAISSEZ FAIRE – 7th of 12, on 2nd start back, in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Sports pads for first time and will have her supporters
  45. LAST CHANCE – Last of 16 when being conditioned in a 2700m Graignes Class F earlier this month. Races first-time barefoot, Eric Raffin gets the nod, and if there is a spoiler here, this is it
Summary: A late filly that imposed smartly on debut 2 months ago, LILI MARLEEN (5) will have progressed for the run and from the first row can keep her unbeaten status intact. Just 25 Euros from incurring the handicap, LA PRODIGE (10) is plainly close to her race, is first-time barefoot, and looks the main threat. LINA DE BASSIERE (14) is difficult to knock when focused and even from the 2nd line will be expected to contest the finish. LUTINE DU CEDRE (7) is never the easiest of fillies to handle but is by no means devoid of ability and, shod as she was here in May, must not be underestimated.

  46. HEROS DE BONNEFOI – Back in the professional ranks after coming 5th of 16 in a 2575m Saint-Brieuc amateurs Class F on 14 June. Enjoys a front row break this time and while not a priority, will nonetheless generate some interest
  47. HAPPY DE TOUCHYVON – Made up for Graignes effort when 2nd of 13 in a 2150m Vichy Class E on 2 June. Eric Raffin back in the bike and looks a decent first-5 chance
  48. IDOLE JALLERIE – Good 2nd of 13 in a 2450m Caen Class F last week. On the front line but takes on a tough bunch this time and chances limited
  49. IMAGE D’HERFRAIE – Disappointing since winning in Paris, latterly sanctioned in a 2875m Enghien Class D a month back, but has been reconfigured for the occasion and must be worth retaining
  50. ILARIA KILY – Honest mare that ran 5th of 16 in a 2875m Enghien Class D on 24 May. First time barefoot in Vire and should be competitive for a minor place cheque
  51. GATSBY WIC – 8th of 16 to HADES DE L’ITON (10) in a 2525m Class E at Les Andelys 10 days ago. Shoes on again and best to wait
  52. GENET DE BOITRON – Out of the picture in both starts since the break, most recently last but one behind FELICITA D’ECOUVES (9) in a 2450m Caen Class D a fortnight back, and has no possible chance
  53. IN LOVE DE JIEL – 6th of 11 finishers behind HAUTBRION COLMI (15) in a 2700m Vincennes Class C late-May. Has shown his form more than once this term and looks competitive for a place in the mix
  54. FELICITA D’ECOUVES – Honourable 5th of 16 in a 2450m Caen Class D a fortnight back. Pads fitted this time, has yet to deliver at Vire, and others preferred
  55. HADES DE L’ITON – Has won 8 of 11 starts since moving to the Antonin André yard, most recently a 2525m Class E at Les Andelys 10 days ago. Won here earlier in the year and has a realistic chance of repeating
  56. IDEFIX DE CENTULE – Would have finished closer than 6th of 10 in a 2650m Alencon Class D earlier in the month had he not faulted in the straight. Placed on sole Vire appearance and is thoroughly capable of confirming
  57. HELLO JADE RUSH – Last of 7 in a 2850m Laval monte Class C 3 weeks ago. Here for a change of scenery and can be ruled out
  58. HELIOS SOMOLLI – Has not been seen out since coming 7th of 16 in a 2450m Caen Class D last March. Benefits from a decent entry and if sufficiently tuned-up will be no pushover
  59. ERMES DE CORDAY – Back under harness after finishing 8th of 11 in a 2850m monte Class D at Maure-de-Bretagne 2 months ago and can expect to have few friends
  60. HAUTBRION COLMI – Well-engaged sort that was sanctioned in a 2875m Enghien Class D on 14 June. Is never far from faulting but with stride in check can redeem himself and win this
Summary: Although complicated at the best of times, it is hard to ignore how HAUTBRION COLMI (15) has performed in more elevated fields; he enjoys an entry made in heaven and should not be too hastily-condemned for being somewhat spirited lately. He will still be pitted against the remarkably consistent HADES DE L’ITON (10) who has won 6 on the trot this year, and IDEFIX DE CENTULE (11) who returns to the venue with all the confidence of his handler. HELIOS SOMOLLI (13) may have raced just once this year but is a tough nut when focused and merits respect. IN LOVE DE JIEL (8) put in a good effort behind Charles-Antoine Mary’s horse in Paris last month and warrants respect.

  61. JEU DE MOTS – A write-off so far this year, most recently sanctioned in a 2450m Caen Class E 2 weeks ago, and can be confidently disregarded
  62. JURILOVCA – Last of 12 behind JAVA FAST (9) in a 2200m Caen Class D late last month. Has other ambitions
  63. JERZINO VICI – Put in quite the effort to come 3rd of 11 in a 2200m Caen Class D last week. Posted a good time that day and even with pads fitted looks capable of making first 5
  64. JULIAN DARK – Starts for the first time since winning a 2950m Vichy Class E just over a month ago. Is not about to create an upset but should nevertheless hold his own
  65. JOCKEY – 5th of 11 in a 2850m Laval Class D a fortnight back. Not a priority but consistently gives his best and is not to be ruled out
  66. JASON BLUE – Sanctioned in 2 after having imposed at Vichy, latterly a 2450m Caen Class D 2 weeks ago, but the new configuration may be just the ticket. Place chance
  67. JAMAIS – Did not enjoy the best of trips when 6th of 14, a place behind JOCKEY (5), in a 2950m Le Mans Class D on 22 May. Enjoys a good record when racing right-handed and looks a player
  68. JALOUSIE MAZA – Reverts to a previous configuration after faulting in a 2625m Cherbourg monte Class G on 21 April, but will be expected to need the run
  69. JAVA FAST – Confirmed Caen performance when 2nd of 11 in a 2550m Gournay-en-Bray Class H on 9 June. Won her only Vire start and with shoes off will be expected to play a leading role
  70. JUNIOR ANGELE – Valiant 4th of 8 behind JASMIN PHIL (14) in a 2800m Pontchateau Class D 3 weeks ago. Placed on lone appearance at the venue and with shoes off again should not disappoint
  71. JAGUAR FLORAL – Serious type that failed to pull off the hat-trick when sanctioned in a 2450m Caen Class D early last month. Has been afforded ample time to recalibrate, has never disappointed when barefoot here, and looks the pick of the field
  72. JAMES MADRIK – Sanctioned when well-supported in a 2850m Laval Class D on 12 June. Shoes back on though and not a priority
  73. JACINTHE DU BOIRON – Pleased on re-entry before finishing last but one in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class E on 8 June and cannot be considered a concern
  74. JASMIN PHIL – In the frame in 2 of last 3, most recently missing out by little in a 2800m Pontchateau Class D 3 weeks ago. Appears to be taking on too much this time though and can be passed over
  75. JASPE DU DOLLAR – Last of 11 when preparing for this in a 3150m Abbeville Class F 10 days ago. Enjoys an excellent entry, runs barefoot this time, but may just have too much to do
Summary: A fine servant when focused, and unbeaten with Eric Raffin in the bike, JAGUAR FLORAL (11) is in with a realistic shout of making up for his Caen sanction. In cracking form, barefoot for the occasion, and unbeaten here, JAVA FAST (9) looks the main danger, although JAMAIS (7) has nothing to prove in this category and will be no easy touch. JASON BLUE (6) sports a new configuration and will not be far from the action if Francois Lagadeuc keeps him trotting.

  76. KIBELLE DE VIETTE – Showed her form at Chateaubriant before finishing last of 10 in a 2200m Caen Class E conditioner last week. Runs barefoot this time, and must not be overlooked
  77. KECILPOSTE – 5th of 13 in a 3000m Chateaubriant monte Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Has no love for Vire and can be ruled out
  78. KENZA D’OURVILLE – 6th of 13 in a 2725m Class F in Avranches mid-month. Always gives her best and while unlikely to get her nose in front, she has been reconfigured and should acquit herself honourably. First 5
  79. KALI DEL PURPLE – Makes Vire bow after having finished 6th of 10 in a 2475m Royan Class F 2.5 weeks ago, and is not about to influence the outcome
  80. KELLIA VAUCEENNE – Sanctioned in a 2750m Angouleme Class E 10 days ago. Excels with Yoann Lebourgeois though and must not be underestimated
  81. KOBA DE MONTI – 7th of 13, a place behind KENZA D’OURVILLE (3), in a 2725m Class F in Avranches mid-month. Barefoot this time but still not a concern
  82. KANELLE BUROISE – Ran 2nd here in April but sanctioned in next 2, most recently a 2725m Lisieux Class E on 8 June. Front shoes back on but still no more than a minor place chance
  83. KANDIE DE CORDAY – Unplaced in 2 after running 2nd here 2 months ago, most recently a 3125m Ranes Class F on 9 June, and is not about to spring any surprises
  84. KISS ME FIRST – Last of 12 when preparing for this in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class E 3 weeks ago. Benefits from a front-line start and will be competitive for a place on the podium
  85. KARA DU BELLAY – Sanctioned, on return from a spell, in a 2825m Durtal Class F on 1 June. Pads fitted for the occasion but still not an obvious choice
  86. KILLEM – Made up for Toulouse result when 3rd of 11 in a 2750m Angouleme Class E mid-month but, barefoot or not, still has more to find
  87. KENTIA DES RIOULTS – Unthreatening 7th of 12 in a 2625m Cherbourg Class E 10 days ago. Has placed just twice in 10 this year and can be passed over
  88. KEJAIME DE HOUELLE – Comfortable winner of a 2450m Caen Class F last week, her first harness success, and Guillaume Martin will be eager to show it was no flash in the pan. Claim
  89. KAROLINE CADE – 3rd of 15 in a 2350m Angers Class E on 10 June. Posted a good time that day and Eric Raffin can be confident of another big run. Chance
  90. KALANSKA – By no means disgraced when 4th of 10 in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Has not imposed since January but is patently in good shape and deserves to be taken seriously
Summary: KEJAIME DE HOUELLE (13) may never be far from losing her action but she was eye-catching at Caen recently and, provided she stays in stride, may just have the measure of KAROLINE CADE (14) who put in a courageous effort at Angers a fortnight ago, and the reconfigured and well-engaged KALANSKA (15) who ran 2nd here last month. Winner here last season and 25m better off, KISS ME FIRST (9) should be fit by now and, reunited with Francois Lagadeuc who imposed that day, will be no shrinking violet.

  91. MOJITO D’HERFRAIE – Qualified in 1’20″9 at Caen last August. David Thomain in the bike but is unlikely to give his colt a hard race
  92. MISTER D’AVOINES – 6th of 11 in a 2200m Pontchateau Class F mid-month. Alexis Collette in the bike this time but still cannot be considered a concern
  93. MAESTRO DE CORDAY – 6th of 9, on first start since the spell, in a 2700m Graignes Class E 3 weeks ago. Takes on a better lot here and chances appear slim
  94. MAGIC CASH – Won smartly on debut before being sanctioned in a 2425m Angers Class E a fortnight back, but can more than redeem himself if Herve Langlois gets him off on the right foot
  95. MIGHTY DREAM – Opened his account at Bernay in May before coming 5th of 10, despite faulting, in a 2425m Angers Class E on 10 June. On good behaviour though can compete for a place on the podium
  96. MICKY DES TOUCHES – Honest sort that was surprisingly below-par when 6th of 7 in a 2400m Amiens Class E in late-May. Trainer back in the bike but still no more than a minor place chance
  97. MAESTRO D’IDEE – Has done nothing but improve since his April debut, latterly winning a 2150m Ranes Class G on 9 June, but is being aimed too high this time
  98. MAGISTER – Smartly won a 2850m Laon Class F on 8 June. Is clearly an improving colt and can double his money if he takes to the new conditions
  99. MOHITO DE GUEZ – Lost his maiden tag at Langon 6 weeks before running 4th of 8 in a 2600m Class E at La Roche-Posay 10 days ago. Entrusted to Yoann Lebourgeois for the first time and will be expected to play an active role
  100. MONSIEUR DE VORE – Won at Royan on debut before coming 4th of 8 in a 2875m Meslay-du-Maine Class E in early-May. Has freshness on his side and the choice of driver speaks volumes. Chance
  101. MEKONG – Suffered interference, coming 9th of 10 finishers in a 2450m Caen Class D 2 weeks ago. Yet to deliver racing clockwise but still has the wherewithal to get a look-in
Summary: After getting off the mark at Laon earlier in the month, MAGISTER (8) goes clockwise for the first time and can make it 2 in a row. Théo Duvaldestin will still be mindful of the well-engaged and progressive MONSIEUR DE VORE (10) who has been entrusted to Eric Raffin for the occasion, and MAGIC CASH (4) who was unluckily sanctioned at Angers. MIGHTY DREAM (5) has started to make good on his promise and makes his Vire bow with a good hand to play.

  103. MILADY DREAM – Got off the mark at first time of asking, winning a 2150m Ranes Class G on 18 May. Takes on a better lot this time but comes here with morale intact and should not be overlooked
  104. MIRA DE BAFFAIS – Makes first appearance since coming 2nd of 11 finishers in a Class F over course and distance in early-May. The Thomain 2nd string and others preferred
  105. MELUSINEDARCHE – Out of the picture in all 4 starts this year, latterly sanctioned in a 2450m Caen monte Class D late last month, and can be ruled out
  106. MOOVIESTAR SOMOLLI – Failed to confirm Bihorel-lès-Rouen victory when 7th of 9 in a 2450m Caen Class D last week and others easier to back
  107. MINERVE DE VANDEL – Raced better in a 2800m Cholet Class F than her 4th of 7 finishers would suggest. Always gives her best and can finish in the mix if Cédric Mégissier assures her strides
  108. MANHATTAN FRANCE – Lost her maiden tag when successful in a 2150m Ranes Class G on 9 June but at this level will struggle to confirm
  109. MOUNTAIN – Sanctioned early in a 2200m Caen Class D late last month. Is plainly in shape though and on good behaviour can make this her own
  110. MA LADY DU GARDEN – Respectable 5th of 12 behind MA CHOUCHOU (15) in a 2900m Amiens Class E on 12 June. Is confirmed here but still has more to find
  111. MARIE DE L’AUNAY – Last of 10 in a 2700m Graignes Class E on 5 June. Has placed here but in current form is not easy to recommend
  112. MAFALDA – Sanctioned in 3 of last 4, most recently a 2850m Laval Class E on 12 June and others easier to trust
  113. MERRY DE MALABRY – Runner-up in both starts to date, most recently a 2875m Meslay-du-Maine Class F mid-May. Comes here fresh and should again make the frame
  114. MOON DES ARRIS – Made the frame in 3 straight before coming last of 6 in a 2850m Laval Class E on 12 June. Enjoys a decent entry and will not be far from the action if she takes to the new profile
  115. MEGAFLECHE – Steps up in category after winning a 2725m Lisieux Class F on 18 May. Is a filly for the future and will be expected to bring the fight to MOUNTAIN (8)
  116. MA CHOUCHOU – 3rd of 12, at 35/1, in a 2900m Amiens Class E on 12 June. Unlikely to lose her maiden status but should nevertheless figure prominently
Summary: Although sanctioned twice after imposing here last month, MOUNTAIN (8) will be partnered by the champion driver this time and can win this if she stays in stride. The Duvaldestin-trained MEGAFLECHE (14) however has shown considerable promise and will be no pushover. MERRY DE MALABRY (12) is close to getting off the mark and with Franck Nivard in the bike will justifiably garner support. Oddly below-par at Laval recently, MOON DES ARRIS (13) goes clockwise for the first time and is unlikely to disappoint if she turns.
