THE TRICKSTER boasts some solid 3-y-o form, notably his run at Ascot in May, and could be the answer taking on his elders for the first time. Bubbles Wonky is worth another chance to confirm the promise of his Hamilton win so is next best ahead of Individualism, who was only just edged out off this mark at Beverley last week.
UNCLE DICK – 3.40
UNCLE DICK is now 3 lb lower in the weights than when recording his latest success here last August and an eighth C&D success could be within reach. The veteran Poetic Force deservedly resumed winning ways over 7f here last month and he is likely to pose a threat, while Buy The Dip and Havana Mojito could also have parts to play.
CLOUD COVER – 8.00 Chelmsford
CLOUD COVER proved a disappointment after a sluggish start at Newcastle in April but given her overall profile, she’s not the type to stay down for long so is well worth another chance. Stop The Cavalry shaped as if needing the run when behind the reopposing Jabaara at Musselburgh on her reappearance and should be much closer to form this time. Jabaara has to be respected, along with Miss Information, who landed a Royal Ascot handicap in good style recently.
TROUVILLE – 8.30 Chelmsford
Plenty with claims here, including TROUVILLE, who made an encouraging return to action at this course last month and remains relatively unexposed. He gets the nod. Blindedbythelights and Hydroplane head the list of dangers.
