- JACK SPARROW GEPE – Disappointing of late, latterly 8th of 11 to JUST LOVE D’ALSACE (3) in a 2000m Class F at Le Mont-Saint-Michel 12 days ago, and is unlikely to shake things up
- JUST LOVE D’ALSACE – Made it 3 wins from last 4 starts when comfortably securing a 2000m Class F at Le Mont-Saint-Michel 12 days ago. David Thomain in the bike again and while unlikely to repeat can nevertheless finish in the mix

- JOLI DE CONNEE – 3rd of 11 in a 2725m Pornichet Class F on 14 August. Has right-handed form, starts in front, and the Lebourgois-factor cannot be ignored

- JAGUAR DU LOISIR – Last of 6 finishers in a 2800m Vichy Class G early this month. Sports front pads this time and the handicap will do him no favours
- JOYEUX NONNA – Out of the picture in last 3, most recently 7th of 16 in a 2850m Brehal Class F 2.5 weeks ago, and under these conditions has no possible chance
- JANNIG D’EREVAN – Eliminated when preparing for this in a 2900m Dozule Class F last week. Sébastien Ernault in the bike this time and despite the penalty has every chance of imposing

Summary: Back on a hard surface after losing his action at Dozule, JANNIG D’EREVAN (15) will be shod to preference this time and should have the measure of the field. An excellent servant when focused, JAGUAR FLORAL (16) leads the opposition, with JOHNNY QUICK (8) unlikely to disappoint from the first row. Reassuring at Pornichet recently, JOLI DE CONNEE (10) will be reunited with Yoann Lebourgeois.

She can resume her winning ways. LAUREN DE BEYLEV (15) likes this track and is in good form, so she should be a threat. C1 – PRIX DE LA COLMONT – 2850m (a2m) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 21,000
- MY QUEEN BLUE – Honest filly that ran 3rd of 7 finishers in a 2500m Vibraye Class F mid-month but seems to be taking on too much this time
- MODJO CHEF – Has not been seen out since winning a 2850m Class F at Maure-de-Bretagne in May and is going to need the race
- MODERN STYLE – 3rd of 11 in a 2950m Le Mans Class E late last month, on first start on a hard surface. Passed his test with flying colours and will be expected to give MILORD DES CHARMES (6) a run for his money
- MAMBO PLANCHETTE – In the frame in last 2, latterly 2nd of 12 in a 2750m Class F at La Capelle late last month. Mathieu Mottier gets the nod and will be expected to finish thereabouts
- MAGNIFIK BOSDARROS – Modest sort that ran 6th of 10 in a 2750m Cabourg claimer 2.5 weeks ago and in this field looks a rank outsider
- MILORD DES CHARMES – Should not be condemned for losing his action in a 2500m Class D at La Rochelle earlier in the month. Is plainly in rude health and can expect to garner the lion’s share of support
- MEADOWLANDS – Quality element making first start since running 2nd of 11 in a 2450m Caen Class E 5 months ago and will be eased back in gently
- MISS LADY DU DAN – 8th of 10 finishers when prepping for this in a 2750m Cabourg Class D a month ago. Will have come on for the run and looks considerably more dangerous on this occasion
- MAERLINE D’AVEL – Makes Laval debut after losing her maiden status in a 2725m Pornichet Class F 2 weeks ago. Comes here with morale intact and steps up in category with a good hand to play
- MEMORIAL – Steps up in category after getting off the mark in a 2950m Biarritz Class F on 19 July. Cannot be considered a priority but should nevertheless hold his own
- MYSTERE PERRINE – Eliminated, on return to competition, in a 2775m Class D at Les Sables-d’Olonne on 2 August. Guillaume Martin in the bike this time and, already confirmed here, will be in the mix if focused
Summary: On a quest for rehabilitation after faulting at La Rochelle, MILORD DES CHARMES (6) is reunited with Eric Raffin who ran 2nd with him at Pornichet and with stride in check can get off the mark this time. That being said, MODERN STYLE (3) has demonstrated significant promise and should find Laval to his liking. Unplaced last time after having imposed at Graignes, MISS LADY DU DAN (8) returns to racing left-handed with every chance of getting back in the game. MAMBO PLANCHETTE (4) is plainly close to his race and must be considered a contender.

- LOVELY MOMENT – Unable to confirm Château-du-Loir victory when 6th of 8 finishers in a 2150m Enghien Class E a fortnight ago. Is significantly better than that though and is not to be overlooked
- LUCKY DE MAC – Unable to confirm maiden victory when last of 11 in a 2625m Class F at Saint-Jean-de-Monts on 13 July and is not about to shake things up
- LORD MIL – Did not enjoy the best of runs when eliminated in a 2150m Enghien Class E a fortnight ago. Ran 4th here last month and can get in on the action once more
- L’AS TEJY – Unraced since finishing 6th of 9 in a 2175m Vincennes monte Class D last February and is here for reasons of conditioning
Summary: A quality individual with a race under his belt following a lengthy layoff, L’ANGELUS (2) could well win this if he takes to Laval conditions. That being said, the complicated LIDO DE LOU (4) was eliminated when going well last time out and can get off the mark for 2025 if Clément Duvaldestin keeps him trotting. LARRY DU DOUBS (5) most recently beat his personal best and has won 2 from 3 with Eric Raffin reining. LOVELY MOMENT (11) will be shod to preference for his return to the provinces and can play an active part.

C3 – PRIX DE L’ERNEE – 2850m (a2m) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 21,000 - LEGENDE D’EOLE – Has gone from strength to strength lately, most recently dominating a 2500m Class F at La Rochelle a month ago, and with Eric Raffin back in the bike should not be underestimated
- L’IDOLE DRY – Sports a new formula after being eliminated in a 2150m Enghien Class E on 10 August. Is useful when focused and although in better company this time can nevertheless get a look in
- LYPSIE THONIC – Eliminated in last 2, latterly a 3200m Montmirail Class F on 13 July. Is not devoid of ability but must get her house in order
- LOKIE KADESH – Showed marked improvement when 2nd of 9 in a 2625m Cherbourg Class F on 17 July. Goes barefoot again and, considering the stable’s form, is one to keep an eye on
- LIBRA SUPREME – Winner of 2 from 3 this year, latterly a 2700m Class F at La Capelle late last month. Is new to the venue but will find Laval right up her street and can make this her own
- LILI DES ORMES – 2nd of 16 in a 2475m Francheville Class F mid-month. Pitted against better this time but should nonetheless give an honourable account
- LA JOCONDE – Last but one, a place behind LUTECE PLANCHETTE (13), in a 2500m Class E at La Rochelle early this month and is not about to spice things up
- LEELY DE BLARY – 7th of 8 on comeback in a 2150m Enghien Class E on 10 August. Faces a more suitable challenge this time around and will be expected to contest the finish. Chance
- LUNE ROSE D’ALESA – Last of 8, on first start for 4 months, in a 2850m Carentan Class D mid-month. Runs barefoot this time but others still preferred
- LADY MASTER – Form has regressed over recent weeks, most recently 8th of 12 behind LADY VICTORY (15) in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class E on 6 August, and will have little to contribute
- LA BELLE MISS – Got off the mark on turf last month before coming 4th of 12 behind LADY VICTORY (15) in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class E on 6 August. Put in a good finish that day and will have her supporters
- LILIBETH SMART – Eliminated in a 2500m Class E at La Rochelle on 4 August. Has not raced shod since her debut but has bags of ability and on better behaviour can play a prominent role
- LUTECE PLANCHETTE – Courageous 5th of 7 finishers in a 2500m Class E at La Rochelle on 4 August but a repeat seems most improbable
- LIBERTA DE MARZY – Made up for Cabourg elimination when 4th of 11 in a 2650m Class E at Les Sables-d’Olonne on 5 August. Mathieu Mottier in the bike this time and although not a priority can still get in on the action
- LADY VICTORY – In the frame in last 2, latterly 2nd of 12 in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class E on 6 August. Nicely entered here and does not make the journey only to return home empty-handed. First 5
- LADY D’IDEF – Failed to confirm La Rochelle performance when 6th of 10 in a 2650m Pornichet Class E last week and can be passed over
Summary: She may not be the most experienced horse in the field but LIBRA SUPREME (5) has done nothing but improve this term and looks eminently capable of confirming her July success. Romain Le Creps will be justifiably wary though of LEELY DE BLARY (8) who faces a less arduous task than she did on re-entry earlier in the month. LEGENDE D’EOLE (1) opened her summer account in late-July and thrives with Eric Raffin. LILIBETH SMART (12) is back to racing shod after her latest fault but with application will be no pushover.

C4 – PRIX DE L’ERVE – 2850m (a2m) – Class D Amateur Riders Race – Mounted – EUR € 24,000 - KASSKOU CLEMAXELLE – 3rd in Sable-sur-Sarthe race of reference before finishing 9th of 12 in a 2650m Pornichet harness Class E last week. Hind shoes off but others still easier to back
- KIROLETA – Surprise 4th of 9 to KORA GEMA (5) in a 2825m Class E at Sable-sur-Sarthe on 10 August. Would however be preferred competitively shod
- KRONOS DE VANDEL – Back at the top of his game with 2 wins in last 3 starts, latterly dominating a 2625m Class F at La Rochelle late last month. Difficult to knock when focused and already twice a winner here, must be respected
- JINGLE FAN – Imposed at Avranches before running 2nd of 8 in a 2900m Class E at La Chartre-sur-le-Loir 12 days ago. Has yet to disappoint for his young rider and is not about to start now. Place chance
- KORA GEMA – Won 2 of last 3, latterly a 2825m Class E at Sable-sur-Sarthe on 10 August. Boasts good credentials on a hard surface and with application can challenge for the win
- JAMY – Encouraged at Les Sables-d’Olonne before being eliminated in a 3200m Montmirail Class H on 13 July. Front shoes off this time and can make first 5 is he deigns to keep his action together
- JEWELKIM – Eliminated in a 2900m Dozule harness Class F on 20 August. In the hands of Estelle Croisic this time and will be dangerous if she keeps him focused
- KARLSON PASS – Unexceptional 6th of 9 to KORA GEMA (5) in a 2825m Class E at Sable-sur-Sarthe on 10 August and is unlikely to shake things up
- JACANA DE BLARY – Put in a good effort to come 3rd of 12 in a 2625m Cherbourg Class F 11 days ago. May not be everyone’s cup of tea but still looks to have the capacity to win a race of this nature
Summary: In the frame in her last 2 monte starts, and terrifically-engaged at the limit of earnings, JACANA DE BLARY (9) more than held her own in good company recently and a similar performance would see her win this. Lou-Ann Lecoq will still want to be wary of the complicated and padded, but in-form, KORA GEMA (5) whose return to a hard surface has been much-anticipated. JINGLE FAN (4) has been flying in both codes this summer and even though fitted with front pads this time still looks competitively well in. JEWELKIM (7) pleasantly surprised on his recent monte bow and, shod as he was that day, is not to be underestimated.

- KOPA VRIE – Eliminated in a 2850m Brehal Class F on 18 August. Has otherwise been in cracking form and will be expected to put things right
- KALICO JACK – Eliminated early in a 2725m Pornichet Class F last Monday and has quite simply no realistic chance
- KALINE DU PONCHET – Got back in the game at Agon-Coutainville 12 days ago when 2nd of 7 finishers in a 2200m Class F. Matthieu Abrivard in the bike this time but others still preferred
- KORRIGAN SIBEY – 7th of 12 when preparing for this in a 2700m Class F at La Capelle on 25 July. Went close on sole outing with the day’s driver and looks competitive for the win
- KIDAM DU METZ – Sanctioned in last 3, latterly a 2875m Enghien Class E on 13 August. Has ample ability though and could pleasantly surprise if he deigns to keep his action together
- KING DE CHANLECY – Eliminated in last 2, most recently a 2475m Francheville Class F mid-month and, even going barefoot with Mathieu Mottier reining, has no possible chance
- KALINE JAMINI – Well-beaten in last 3, latterly 9th of 10 in a 2775m Class F at Les Sables-d’Olonne a week ago, and can be confidently passed over
- KALA SPORT – Imposed at Château-du-Loir before finishing 7th of 9 behind KIF DE LA BRETTE (12) in a 2475m Francheville Class F mid-month. Alexis Collette reining this time but represents no more than a minor place chance
- KEOPS DE JUMILLY – Ran 2nd at Amiens before being eliminated in a 2650m Class F at Les Sables-d’Olonne on 13 August. Twice a winner in 3 starts with Eric Raffin and must be regarded a player
- KNOCKANDO – 10th of 13 when prepping for this in a 2875m Class E at Meslay-du-Maine a month ago. Hind shoes off, with Benoit Robin in the bike this time, and with application can finish close
- KIF DE LA BRETTE – In the frame in last 4, latterly 3rd of 9 in a 2475m Francheville Class F mid-month. Is as versatile as they come and should figure prominently at the business end of the race
- KIR DU BOULAY – Honest sort that ran 5th of 16 in a 2700m Graignes Class F 3 weeks ago but seems to be aimed too high this time around
- KATNISS MORMOULIN – Should not be too hastily-judged for running 9th of 12 finishers in a 2875m Enghien Class E on 14 August. Is just 55 Euros from elimination and Anthony Barrier will be eager to capitalise
Summary: Back to a more reasonable level after failing to deliver in Paris, KATNISS MORMOULIN (14) is plainly in excellent shape and, given the engagement, can make her Laval debut a victorious one. Shod to preference this time, and reunited with Gabriele Gelormini, KORRIGAN SIBEY (5) appears the main threat, although with application KEOPS DE JUMILLY (10) will be no pushover. KIF DE LA BRETTE (12) has been knocking at the door all year and should again acquit himself competitively.

C6 – PRIX ICI MAYENNE – 2850m (a2m) – Class F Race – Harness – EUR € 21,000 - JANIS SHOW – Eliminated in a 2750m Class F at La Ferte-Vidame early this month. Has been a write-off since late last season and can be confidently disregarded
- JOUR ET NUIT – Made up for 7 August blip when 4th of 11 to JERICHO D’EM (10) in a 2725m Pornichet Class F a week later. Has been reunited with Tristan Ouvrie and is not incapable of trotting his way onto the podium
- JAVLAR – Made it 2 wins from 3 at La Capelle before being eliminated in a 2725m Pornichet Class F a fortnight ago. Form is not in doubt and can win this if he keeps his mind on the game
- JEAN D’HOLLENBOURG – 2nd at Le Mont-Saint-Michel before being unlucky to be disqualified in a 2750m Cabourg Class D on 25 July. Is as good racing left-handed as right- and can get in on the action if kept out of harm’s way
- JOLYA DE POMMERAYE – Made short work of a 2000m Class F at Le Mont-Saint-Michel 12 days ago. David Thomain in the bike again and in current form is easy to like for a place in the frame
- JOG JELOCA – Made amends for La Rochelle elimination when 2nd of 11 to JERICHO D’EM (10) in a 2725m Pornichet Class F a fortnight ago. Unlikely to repeat but will not be available at 58/1 either. First 5 though
- JAZZ JENILOU – Has yet to shine since returning from a lengthy absence, latterly last but one behind JOYCE D’AVEZE (11) in a 2625m Cherbourg Class F 11 days ago, and others preferred
- JALISCA FLIGNY – Unplaced in last 2, most recently 9th of 14 behind JOYCE D’AVEZE (11) in a 2625m Cherbourg Class F 11 days ago, and can expect to have few friends
- JEDEO DES VAUX – 3rd of 6 finishers in a 2775m monte Class F at Les Sables-d’Olonne last week. Sports 4 pads for first time but still not a concern
- JERICHO D’EM – Facile winner of a 2725m Pornichet Class F on 14 August. Has taken his game up a notch since starting to race barefoot and Eric Raffin can be justifiably confident of another big performance. Chance
- JOYCE D’AVEZE – Courageous 5th of 14, at 108/1, in a 2625m Cherbourg Class F 11 days ago, although confirmation seems unlikely
- JINGLE PASS – Unplaced in last 3, most recently 7th of 11 in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Is better than the result would suggest, and at just 60 Euros from elimination, must not be ruled out
Summary: Complicated he might be, and eliminated at Pornichet mid-month, but JAVLAR (3) is clearly at the top of his game and can get back in the winners’ circle if Franck Ouvrie manages to keep him focused. JERICHO D’EM (10) and Eric Raffin won smartly that day though and look dangerous once more. Shod as he was when 4th on that occasion, JOUR ET NUIT (2) should again figure prominently, but may first have to defer to JOLYA DE POMMERAYE (5) who has done nothing but improve recently.

C7 – PRIX DE L’OUDON – 2850m (a2m) – Class D Race – Mounted – EUR € 35,000 - KING CHAOS – Got back in the game earlier in the month when 2nd of 9 in a 2625m Class F at La Rochelle. Placed under these conditions a month earlier and with application can go far
- JUSTICE D’EOLE – Last of 4 in a 3100m Vibraye Class E 2 weeks ago and has little to contribute
- JUBLA VIKING – Pleasant 5th of 10 when prepping for this in a 2625m Cherbourg Class F 11 days ago. Plainly in competition mode this time and is unlikely to be far off the mark
- JOYEUSE ENTREE – Eliminated in a 3100m Vibraye Class E mid-month and is not about to cause an upset
- IL TROTTE JARL – 9th of 10 behind ICARE WILLIAMS (11) in a 2700m Vincennes Class D last week and will need to find considerably more
- JUPITER TURGOT – In the frame in last 6 starts, most recently 3rd of 16 in a 3100m Nort-sur-Erdre Class A. Has won twice for Mathieu Mottier and can finally get her nose in front this season. Chance
- FOREVER D’ARIANE – Unremarkable type that finished 7th of 9 in a 2725m Pornichet harness Class E on 24 July. Has never excelled under the saddle and is unlikely to spring any surprises
- HOBAMA – 4th of 15 in a 2150m Enghien harness claimer 3 weeks ago. Difficult to knock in the day’s configuration and debuts in the discipline with a good hand to play
- JOKER DE CHOISEL – Makes first appearance since winning a 2550m harness Class C at Beaumont-de-Lomagne on 24 May. Has shown promise under the saddle and if fully fit can wrap this up
- IMPERIAL MABON – Pleasant in last 2 harness starts, most recently 4th of 15 in a 2775m Class E at Les Sables-d’Olonne a week ago. In good company for monte bow though and others preferred
- ICARE WILLIAMS – Beaten by the smallest of margins in a 2700m Vincennes Class D last week. Sanctioned on lone outing here but in current condition is easy to like for a podium place
- GAUCHO DE LA NOUE – Back in the code after finishing 7th of 14 in a 2750m Cabourg harness Class E 3 weeks ago. Front pads fitted this time but is not incapable of getting a look in
Summary: Sent for a break after winning 4 straight under harness, JOKER DE CHOISEL (9) makes his first appearance since May but boasts an excellent record with Anthony Barrier and can get straight down to business. He will still be mindful of the in-form JUPITER TURGOT (6) who went close under these conditions 2 months ago, and ICARE WILLIAMS (11) who has been hard to knock since moving yards. JUBLA VIKING (3) kicked the summer off with a brace of wins and has been reconfigured for the occasion.

- JUST DE L’OISON – Disqualified in a class D at Cabourg over 2750m on 22 August. If applied is a leading candidate for the victory
- HECTOR DE BASSIERE – Third in a class E at Cabourg over 2750m on 8 August. Remains barefoot. Can play a minor role at best
- GUCCI DE BARB – Unplaced in a class D at Enghien over 2150m on 13 August. Others are much preferred in this line-up

- ISIS D’HERFRAIE – Third in a class C at Enghien over 2875m on 30 July. Seldom far off them and can be involved in the finish again
Summary: JUST DE L’OISON (2) has disqualification issues, as seen at Cabourg just the other day. However, he does set the standard for the race when smart. IVOIRE PRESTANCE (7) is very reliable and comes off a good win at Cagnes-sur-Mer, so should be a danger. INSIGHT SPOKEN (13) has won his last two races and can complete the hat-trick for Eric Raffin. ICARE DE PHYT’S (15) runs barefoot and is capable of an improved performance.

EUGENE SMITH (4) can be forgiven for running seventh last time and is an individual who enjoys the 1900m. He does go over the mile here and will be a strong finisher at the line. Summary: BELARIA (1) has been in good form this year. She won her first two races over fences in May and June and was a pleasing third at Senonnes over hurdles 27 days ago. She can edge this over KELIBIA (4), who was fifth in a handicap chase at Auteuil when last seen in June 2024. JETSEE (9) scored over hurdles in 2023 and has been lightly raced since. She warrants respect if back to her best form. JOIKA D’HERODIERE (3) makes up the shortlist.
