C1 – PRIX DU LAC – 2400m (a1m1/2) – TURF – Divided Handicap – Flat – EUR € 20,200

  1. LOUIS DEUX – He ran well when 5th at Chantilly over 2000m in a handicap on July 8th, and won before that over 2400m at the same track in a handicap on June 28th. Key chance
  2. ROYAL ENCLOSURE – Three placed runs of late, 2nd on the latest at Compiegne over 2400m on July 29th. Can make the frame
  3. WAKIF – He got his second success over 2650m at Chateaubriant in a handicap on August 21st. This will be more challenging
  4. OVER THE CLOUDS – Placed 3rd on his last two runs, the latest at Le Lion D’Angers on August 14th over 3000m. Outside place contender
  5. MEYUDINE’K – Unplaced last time, a win before that over 2400m in a claimer at Vichy on July 25th. She ought to be thereabouts
  6. RIVER QUARTZ – Placed on the last four runs, 2nd on the most recent over 2200m at Clairefontaine on August 6th in a handicap. He can give a good account of himself
  7. BIG SURPRISE – Placed in the last two races, the latter when 3rd at Clairefontaine on August 6th, in a handicap over 22200m. Can make the top three
  8. ARNAGA – 6th on her last run over 2200m in a claimer at Clairefontaine on August 22nd. Unlikely to be a threat
  9. EASY ON ME – Credible 2nd over 3100m in a Class 3 race at St-Jean De Mont on August 17th on his last start. More is required in a stronger race
  10. PONT MARIE – 5th on the last start, 2nd before that over 2400m at Vichy in a claimer on July 25th. Others seem more likely to be involved
  11. PAPILLE D’ARGENT – Ran 4th at Cavaillon over 2200m in a maiden race on August 17th. Hard to be enthusiastic about
  12. PERLE ARDENTE – Four placed runs of late, 2nd on the last two of them, the latter over 2400m in a handicap at Vichy on August 20th. One to pay attention too
    Summary: LOUIS DEUX (1) ran well at Chantilly when he was fifth in early July, and he scored at the same track over 2400m in a handicap on June 25th. He can score from RIVER QUARTZ (6), who can be rewarded for his consistency and make the selection work hard. BIG SURPRISE (7) looks like the best option each way after a pleasing third earlier this month at Clairefontaine in a handicap. PERLE ARDENTE (12) looks best of the remainder.

    Summary: HOTHEADED (4) has been improving with racing. He scored in a Listed race at Deauville on August 9th when last seen by 3.5L. He can be too smart for ZINGARO (7), who was second in the Deauville race and meets the main selection on the same weight terms. EMIT (3) scored in a Listed race in Ireland last time out and can have a say in proceedings. ALLURE (2) makes up the shortlist.

  32. IT’S EAGLE – He won at Strasbourg over 3000m in a Class 3 handicap on May 28th, when last appearing. Unlikely to threaten
  33. ZILRAK – Placed on the last four starts, 4th on the latter over 2400m at Dieppe in a Class 3 handicap. One to keep onside
  34. XILOFONO – He was 2nd over 2400m at La Teste in a Class 3 handicap on August 5th when last seen. This might be a step too far
  35. SCREEN SHOT – He scored over 2400m at Dieppe on August 4th in a Class 3 handicap. Capable of a top-four finish
    Summary: Course and distance winner at this track in June OURO PRETO (4) looks capable of following up. He will not find it easy, but should be too smart for FLORENCE (12), who won well when scoring at Compiegne in late June and seems to be on an upward curve. MARTIN (11) won over 2250m at this track in early July two runs back and can not be ignored. ZILRAK (14) is well drawn in stall 3 and looks like the most reliable option each way. SCREEN SHOT (16) won at Dieppe 27 days ago and warrants respect from the foot of the weights.

  37. HOTTOT – Colt by Almanzor, the dam was unraced. He is likely to need this run and this youngster will improve for this outing
  38. LOHENGREEN – Colt by Ulysees, the dam did not race. One to watch on debut. The betting market can be informative
  39. NIEDERBRONN – Coly by Kendargent, the dam was unraced. Stable runners tend to need a run or two for experience. Others could be more forward
  40. HOUBLON – Colt by Wootton Bassett, the dam won 2 races, including a Group 2 event. He is one to pay close attention to in the betting exchanges
  41. PEARLED MAJESTY – Unraced by Persian King, the dam never ran. Stable runners warrant respect, and any market support could indicate expected performance
  42. DORMEZ VOUS – Colt by Wootton Bassett, the dam won 2 races, including a Group 2 race over 1600m, and she was Group 1 placed. He has a choice pedigree and is one to watch closely in the betting market
  43. ST MARKSMAN – Colt by St Mark’s Basilica, the dam won 1 race. He can improve for this debut run and is best watched for the time being
  44. ZARAKI – Colt by Zarak, the dam was a winner and was placed in a Class 2 race. Respect and keep safe on his first day at school
    Summary: SARAGHAR (1) represents a top stable adept at readying newcomers and, with Mickael Barzalona booked, could strike first time out. ZARAKI (9), from the Andre Fabre yard, looks the main danger and should be well prepared for his debut. Stablemate of the main selection DORMEZ VOUS (7) is another to note and can play a role, while HOUBLON (5) is out of a mare that won a Group 2 race and also holds claims.

  47. SHE’S A LADY – Unraced by Sottsass, the dam never raced. She looks good on paper and was a 120,000 euros purchase. The betting can be the most informative guide
  48. SHAHBANU – Unraced by Mehmas, the dam won 2 races in the UK. Stable runners warrant respect, and any market moves should be noted
  49. NEROMBALA – Filly by Starspangledbanner, the dam won 3 races in Germany, including two Listed races. Her trainer will have her nicely prepared, and she can make an impact
  50. LETHAL BEAUTY – Filly by Camelot, the dam never raced. She is a half-sister to Rashabar, who won the Coventry Stakes (Gr.2) over 1200m, and was second in the Qatar Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere (Group 1) in 2024. Bold show likely
  51. STATISTIC – Filly by Dubawi, the dam won 2 races, including a Listed race over 1400m. She will be expected to make a winning start on her debut
    Summary: STATISTIC (7) makes plenty of appeal on pedigree, being by Dubawi out of a Listed-winning mare over 1400m, and her connections are likely to have her well prepared for this debut. LETHAL BEAUTY (6) looks the main danger as a half-sister to Rashabar, winner of the Coventry Stakes (Gr.2) at Royal Ascot and runner-up in the 2024 Qatar Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere (Gr.1). SHE’S A LADY (3) and NEROMBALA (5) are also respected and should be in the mix.

  59. STERNLE – Trying 3rd in a Listed over 1200m at La Teste-Bassin Arcachon on the 27th of July 2025. Might be difficult to oppose the top choices
  60. HAVANA ANNA – A firm winner in a Listed over 1000m at Naas on the 22nd of July 2025. Can be majorly involved and is a top contender
  61. JEUDIXX – Pleasing effort finishing 3rd in a Group III over 1200m at Deauville on the 3rd of August 2025. One to include in all bets
  62. SHINE ON ME – Bold 2nd in a Listed over 1000m at Deauville on the 9th of August 2025. Will be involved at the finish
    Summary: AFJAN (1) produced a solid second last time out in a Group III and could have the edge here. HAVANA ANNA (9) is treasuring life at the moment having won her last two races over the trip. She sets foot on French soil and does look the type that can make a big statement. HOLLYWOOD TREASURE (5) secured a Listed win last time out and as he debuts on French surfaces, he will look to make it a third consecutive success here. SHINE ON ME (11) is no slouch and must be given acknowledgement.

  67. CHIARANIYA – Good 3rd in a Listed over 1600m at Vichy on the 18th of July 2025. Include in larger exotic plays
  68. RIYABOVKA – Forgivable 9th in a Group I over 1600m at Deauville on the 3rd of August 2025. Overall form shows she is capable of having a bold say
  69. SHUWARI – Applaudable 3rd in a Listed over 1650m at Haydock on the 9th of August 2025. Include in absolutely everything
  70. STAR GALAXY – Off form of late finishing 11th in a Listed over 1400m at Munich-Riem on the 27th of July 2025. Others make more appeal
  71. FLAMING STONE – Respectable run finishing 6th in a Group II over the mile at Dusseldorf on the 25th of May 2025. Big run expected here
  72. MOTU PROPRIO – Finished 3rd in a Class 3 Conditional over 1500m at Deauville on the 12th of August 2025. Others seem more intriguing
  73. MIMOS – Hard run finishing 8th in a Group II over 1600m at Chantilly on the 1st of June 2025. Must be respected on overall form
  74. VERTICAL BLUE – Must be respected after a trying return run when finishing 8th in a Group II over 1600m at Koln on the 18th of May 2025. Can bounce back to winning ways in a field like this
    Summary: VERTICAL BLUE (12) was not disgraced when running eighth in a Group II on her return but her last run back in October 2024 saw her winning over the course and distance and snatched a Group I. The freshener would have done her well and she could bounce back to winning form here. FLAMING STONE (9) carriers admirable form and looks the right candidate to threaten the top choice. SHUWARI (7) conquered the British tracks and makes her French debut will every chance. RIYANOVKA (6) heads the rest.

  80. MON RICIN – Holding form and finished fourth in a handicap Deauville over 2500m on 16 August. Has a place chance in this line-up
  81. SHALOHA – Disappointing last run when unplaced in a handicap at Deauville over 1900m on 5 August, Back on the grass and can contest the finish
  82. AUTEUR – Did not show his best when tenth in a handicap at Dieppe over 2400m on 4 August. Capable of better and might make the frame
  83. A BEAUREGARD – In good shape and finished third in a handicap at Vichy over 3000m on 4 August. Can be competitive once again
  84. MISS WHITE SOCKS – Only modest of late and finished 7th in a handicap at Dieppe over 2200m on 22 July. Needs to find a few lengths to win

  87. HUMAN EVOLUTION – Very consistent and finished third in a handicap at Vichy over 2000m on 30 July. Big chance in this line-up
  88. LA TEMPLIERE – Has struggled of late and finished 8th in a handicap at Clairefontaine-Deauville over 2400m on 18 August. More is needed to win
  89. GOLDYWAY DE SAON – In good shape and was fourth in a handicap at Dieppe over 2400m on 4 August. Could play a minor role
  90. MONA TREZY – Has some fair form and finished third in a handicap at Clairefontaine-Deauville over 2400m on 18 August. Might play a minor role
    Summary: A very open-looking race. HUMAN EVOLUTION (13) is very consistent and has won at this course, so gets a narrow vote to score. LAVIRCA DODVILLE (12) was a good winner last time out and may follow up under a penalty. A BEAUREGARD (9) remains very consistent and should be competitive once again. SHALOHA (7) is back on the grass and is quite capable of contesting the finish.

  99. QUI EVIDAMENT QUI – Decent 4th in a Handicap over 1900m at Deauville on the 28th of August 2025. Has had 13 tries already but will finish into the placings once again
  100. EASTMAN – Finished 4th in a Handicap over 2700m at Le Touquet on the 17th of August 2025. One for the quartets
  101. PORTO GIUNCO – Discouraging attempt finishing 9th in a Handicap over 2400m at Vichy on the 20th of August 2025. Others weigh more attraction
    Summary: TADUKHIPA (2) is lightly raced and improved into second place after racing over a more suitable distance. She now goes over the 2400m for the first time which could be her ideal trip to claim a first career win. SARAMO (1) returns after a minor two month break and if the freshener is not needed, his form suggests that he could be in the shakeup. QUI EVIDAMENT QUI (9) is always there and thereabout and looks to have a place chance. BLANCHE EPINE (8) completes the mix.

  1. IVANHOE RENKA – Back in a category he appreciates after being eliminated in a 2850m Hyeres Class F on 13 August. Has no particular love for Salon but is not to be overlooked either
  2. INFANT DU LOIR – Back among the amateurs after running 6th of 11 in a 2700m Vittel Class F a fortnight ago. Left a good impression last time in this category and will be expected to apply the pressure on INTEL (8)
  3. ILARIO DU MAINE – Returns to racing barefoot after finishing last of 12 in a 2925m Cagnes Class F conditioner 11 days ago. Rand 2nd last time in the amateur division but cannot be considered a priority this time around
  4. IGOR DE LA MORELLE – 6th of 12 in a 2450m Villereal Class F on 16 August. Ideally-entered, and ideally-positioned behind the car, and with Kassandra Fresneau reining will be afforded every chance. First 5
  5. GAROU DE BOURGOGNE – Pleasant 4th of 10 in a 2725m Aix claimer 3 weeks ago. Has decent references in this category and can again finish in the mix
  6. HULK DE LA VALLEE – 5th of 11 in a 2600m Cavaillon amateurs Class G a fortnight ago. Out of first 5 just once in last 8 starts and in this field is thoroughly capable of picking up a place cheque
  7. GALAXY VAUCEENNE – Unexceptional 5th of 7 in a 2150m Cagnes amateurs Class G a fortnight back and the draw will not help matters
  8. INTEL – Ran 2nd among the professionals before coming a somewhat unlucky 5th of 10 in a 2725m Aix amateurs Class H on 9 August, and his talented amateur will be determined to set the record straight. Claim
  9. IDAHODARCHE – Pleasantly surprising 2nd of 6 finishers in a 2175m Sault amateurs Class H 3 weeks ago but will have nothing to contribute this time around
  10. JORDANA – Failed to deliver a fortnight ago when last but one behind HULK DE LA VALLEE (6) in a 2600m Cavaillon amateurs Class G. Has pulled a tough number and can be ruled out
    Summary: INTEL (8) has taken particularly well to the amateur division, raced better at Aix 3 weeks ago than the result would suggest, and can make his Salon debut a successful one. Sophie Blanchetiere will still be mindful of the better-positioned INFANT DU LOIR (2) whose two amateur starts did not go unnoticed. HULK DE LA VALLEE (6) consistently gives everything he has and although not a candidate for success, he nevertheless has the wherewithal to challenge for a place in the picture. Reliability may not be his strong suit but GAROU DE BOURGOGNE (5) is nicely-positioned on the front line, placed last time here, and his latest run will have reassured connections.

  12. MILANAIS VRIE – Still rather green but ran reassuring 5th of 13 in a 2700m Aix Class F 3 weeks ago. Should take well to a hard surface and with application will be dangerous
  13. MARION DU CHERISAY – Put a brace of eliminations behind her to run 4th of 7 in a 2700m Cagnes Class E a fortnight ago. Is not about to create an upset but from the 3-spot can play a role

Not the easiest horse to handle either, LET’S GO D’AIRZA (3) just missed out a month ago and enjoys a good spot on the front row. Already twice a winner this summer, LUTECE SMART (14) has to contend with a tough draw but is shod for competition and not to be underestimated.     Summary: BLANC PAIN (2) showed improvement in his second start. That run looks solid and he should make a bold bid to beat these rivals. LE POETE (3) was not disgraced on debut and should improve, making him a threat this time. OPTIMUS (9) has been consistent on the flat and picked up a confidence-boosting win at Durtal. DRUT (11) makes his debut, but he is well-bred and the betting should tell us more about him.

    Summary: MONTSERRAT (6) is improving and won a good race at Royan La Palmyre in this division earlier this month. He looks capable of following up.     Summary: KOFFI KOMET (2) is improving and was a good winner of a hurdles race at La Teste-de-Buch last month. He now tries a chase but sets the standard on hurdles form. VOLODYMYR (1) chased home his stable companion last time out and can do the same again, also trying the larger obstacles. MONTQUIN (3) was not disgraced on hurdles debut and can be a threat switching to a chase. PATYRON (5) has experience in chases and can go one better.

Stable companion JEREVIENDRAI (8) is on a long losing streak but can be a threat at this level. MON EMPEROR (5) is not reliable but is capable of making the frame when in the right mood. PETIT DRAGON (7) showed some improvement at Vittel and could have more to offer.

    Summary: A very competitive lucky last race and none can be ruled out. SPES ENERGICALL (6) is threatening a win and will be given every chance to do just that. PARISIMIX (2), the stable companion, was looking very dangerous last time out before dislodging the rider and can be a real threat. IPHIS DE L’AUNAY (1) is in very good form and should be right there at the finish yet again. LIVERPOOL PARK (5) is not reliable but is also not out of it.
