C1 – PRIX PIERRE ET JEAN BARRAL – 2200m (a1m1/2) – Class G Amateur Drivers Race – Harness – EUR € 6,000

  1. IVANHOE RENKA – Back in a category he appreciates after being eliminated in a 2850m Hyeres Class F on 13 August. Has no particular love for Salon but is not to be overlooked either
  2. INFANT DU LOIR – Back among the amateurs after running 6th of 11 in a 2700m Vittel Class F a fortnight ago. Left a good impression last time in this category and will be expected to apply the pressure on INTEL (8)
  3. ILARIO DU MAINE – Returns to racing barefoot after finishing last of 12 in a 2925m Cagnes Class F conditioner 11 days ago. Rand 2nd last time in the amateur division but cannot be considered a priority this time around
  4. IGOR DE LA MORELLE – 6th of 12 in a 2450m Villereal Class F on 16 August. Ideally-entered, and ideally-positioned behind the car, and with Kassandra Fresneau reining will be afforded every chance. First 5
  5. GAROU DE BOURGOGNE – Pleasant 4th of 10 in a 2725m Aix claimer 3 weeks ago. Has decent references in this category and can again finish in the mix
  6. HULK DE LA VALLEE – 5th of 11 in a 2600m Cavaillon amateurs Class G a fortnight ago. Out of first 5 just once in last 8 starts and in this field is thoroughly capable of picking up a place cheque
  7. GALAXY VAUCEENNE – Unexceptional 5th of 7 in a 2150m Cagnes amateurs Class G a fortnight back and the draw will not help matters
  8. INTEL – Ran 2nd among the professionals before coming a somewhat unlucky 5th of 10 in a 2725m Aix amateurs Class H on 9 August, and his talented amateur will be determined to set the record straight. Claim
  9. IDAHODARCHE – Pleasantly surprising 2nd of 6 finishers in a 2175m Sault amateurs Class H 3 weeks ago but will have nothing to contribute this time around
  10. JORDANA – Failed to deliver a fortnight ago when last but one behind HULK DE LA VALLEE (6) in a 2600m Cavaillon amateurs Class G. Has pulled a tough number and can be ruled out
Summary: INTEL (8) has taken particularly well to the amateur division, raced better at Aix 3 weeks ago than the result would suggest, and can make his Salon debut a successful one. Sophie Blanchetiere will still be mindful of the better-positioned INFANT DU LOIR (2) whose two amateur starts did not go unnoticed. HULK DE LA VALLEE (6) consistently gives everything he has and although not a candidate for success, he nevertheless has the wherewithal to challenge for a place in the picture. Reliability may not be his strong suit but GAROU DE BOURGOGNE (5) is nicely-positioned on the front line, placed last time here, and his latest run will have reassured connections.

  13. MARION DU CHERISAY – Put a brace of eliminations behind her to run 4th of 7 in a 2700m Cagnes Class E a fortnight ago. Is not about to create an upset but from the 3-spot can play a role
  14. MINELLA – Won nicely on debut, securing a 2675m Class G at Divonne-les-Bains 3 weeks ago. Handed an excellent number on front line and will be expected to give MATA HARI TURGOT (7) a run for her money
  15. MALIKA DU GUESCLIN – Flattering last of 5 in a 2850m Hyeres Class D a month ago. Breaks from the 5-spot, and always gives what she can, but still has too much to do
  16. MADDIE DE MONGOCHY – Sanctioned in 2 of last 3, latterly a 2150m Fleurance Class F 2 weeks ago, and is unlikely to shake things up
  17. MATA HARI TURGOT – Beautifully-bred filly that made short work of a 2000m Class G at Divonne-les-Bains on 17 August. Steps marginally up in category but still looks the pick of the field
  18. MAZURKA DU PRE – Unremarkable filly that ran 7th of 9 in a 2700m Class F at Aix 3 weeks ago and has no realistic chance
  19. MALAGA DESBOIS – Showed promise earlier in the year but has not been seen out since being eliminated in a 2850m Hyeres Class D last May and is going to need the race
  20. MISTABRAQ D’AZIF – 4th of 10, on first association with David Bekaert, in a 2150m Cagnes Class F 2 weeks ago. Has never delivered racing clockwise but in current form is easy to like for a first-5 cheque
  21. MILADY SMART – 6th of 8 in a 2150m Cagnes Class F 2.5 weeks ago and from the back row will have little to show
  22. MARGUERITE QUICK – Last of 6 in a 2150m Fleurance Class F 3 weeks ago. Is better than her formcard would suggest but others still easier to trust
Summary: MATA HARI TURGOT (7) got off the mark in style just 2 weeks ago and even though starting wider this time, he nonetheless looks capable of doubling up. Theo Briand will still want to be wary of better-placed stablemate MINELLA (4) who opened her account at the first time of asking, and the somewhat tricky MILANAIS VRIE (2) who has shown considerable promise. Reunited with her handler, MOOREA BOND (1) will have her chances if she gets off on the right foot.

  23. LIBRIS EX BOURBON – Unremarkable 5th of 8 finishers in a 2600m Class E at Divonne-les-Bains 2 weeks ago. Tends to show more racing left-handed and cannot be regarded a priority
  24. LOOK DES CHARMES – Has done nothing but improve lately, most recently coming 4th of 13 in a 2700m Class F at Aix-les-Bains in late-July. Unlikely to create an upset but the draw will do his chances no disservice
  25. LET’S GO D’AIRZA – Put a trio of eliminations behind him to run 2nd of 16 in a 2650m Hyeres Class F on 1 August. Benefits from an excellent draw and will have a lot to offer if his trainer manages to keep him focused
  26. LUNE D’OPALE – Last of 5 finishers in a 2150m Biarritz monte Class E on 22 July. Is not without merit but with shoes on will have nothing to contribute
  27. LESLIE DE VANDEL – In the frame in 2 of last 3, latterly 2nd of 13 in a 2725m Grenade-sur-Garonne Class F mid-month. Handed a good draw and debuts right-handed with a good hand to play
  28. LUCCIANO D’OMAHA – Imposed at Feurs in July before running 4th of 10 in a 2000m Saint-Galmier Class E last weekend. Would have finished close had he not faulted and his trainer will be keen to set the record straight
  29. LADY LONDON – Distant 5th of 7 finishers in a 2925m Cagnes Class E on 4 August and is not about to spice things up
  30. LORD DE BAGI – Ran 3rd at Hyeres before finishing last of 10 in a 2925m Cagnes Class E a month ago. Forced to break wide but has been reconfigured and has a realistic chance of picking up a cheque this time
  31. LATTE VASTERBO – Debuts at the venue after 5 straight eliminations and even though reconfigured will struggle to make his presence felt
  32. LUXY DE CRENNES – Eliminated early in a 2925m Cagnes Class E on 4 August. Races shod this time and is unlikely to trouble the judge
  33. LUTIN D’HERMES – Modest individual that was eliminated in a 2925m Cagnes Class E on 20 August and under these conditions can be passed over
  34. LAZZARO DREAM – Back on a hard surface after winning a 2000m Class F at Aix-les-Bains on 5 August, on his first start for new trainer, and with application can confirm
  35. LADY DE NIMES – Left a good impression when 2nd of 12 in a 2850m Hyeres Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Trainer would have preferred a better draw but placed on only start at the venue and must be respected
  36. LUTECE SMART – Eliminated when preparing for this in a 2925m Cagnes Class E on 4 August. Won the last 2 races he finished and with hind shoes off will be dangerous if focused
  37. LA QUICK – Very disappointing this summer, lastly eliminated in a 2600m Fleurance Class D 3 weeks ago, and can expect to have few friends
  38. LOUNA STAR – Unplaced in 3 starts since the spell, latterly 8th of 16 behind LET’S GO D’AIRZA (3) in a 2650m Hyeres Class F on 1 August. Shoes on and can be ruled out
Summary: As tricky as they come, but not devoid of talent, LAZZARO DREAM (12) got back in the winners’ circle earlier in the month and with application could double his money. Not the easiest horse to handle either, LET’S GO D’AIRZA (3) just missed out a month ago and enjoys a good spot on the front row. Already twice a winner this summer, LUTECE SMART (14) has to contend with a tough draw but is shod for competition and not to be underestimated. LUCCIANO D’OMAHA (6) has been in decent shape since his return to the track and will have a lot to contribute if Pierre Callier keeps him focused.

  39. KALIMA DU GOUTIER – Well-beaten in last 2, most recently 8th of 12 behind KAEDI DJOC (3) in a 2025m Saint-Galmier Class F 8 days ago, and already looks out of her depth
  40. KALITA DU PADOUENG – 4th at Gabarret before being eliminated in a 2625m Fleurance monte Class F 3 weeks ago. Goes barefoot this time, and breaks in front, but is still not an obvious choice
  41. KAEDI DJOC – Sprang quite the surprise when 4th of 14 in a 2025m Saint-Galmier Class F a week ago. Trainer could not have asked for a better draw and Theo Briand will be eager to oblige
  42. KELLY DU LYONNAIS – Unplaced in last 2, latterly last of 9 in a 2425m Jullianges Class F a week ago. Benefits from a good spot behind the car but must first reaffirm
  43. KANELLE DU VAL – Starts for first time since finishing 7th of 13 behind KALIMA DU GOUTIER (1) in a 2600m Saint-Galmier Class F on 22 July. Left a good impression over 2300m earlier in the month and, from the 5-spot, must be retained
  44. KRISTINA DU CLOS – Back under harness after being eliminated in a 2850m Hyeres monte Class G a month back and can be confidently disregarded
  45. KARLA DES CHARRONS – Last but one in a 2700m Cagnes Class E on 20 August. Has placed just once this year but takes a dip in category and can play a small role
  46. KELLE LOVELY GIRL – 6th of 14 in a 2800m Class F conditioner at Castéra-Verduzan 2 weeks ago. Races barefoot on this occasion and even though starting wide can still get in on the action
  47. KALINE DU RABUTIN – Left a good impression when victorious in a 2700m Vittel Class F 2 weeks ago. Is out to prove it wasn’t a flash in the pan and should not be far off the mark if Francois Giard defies the draw
  48. KANDY CHAMPOSOULT – 4th of 8 finishers in a 2925m Cagnes Class G 3 weeks ago. Not ideally-drawn but has twice gone close in the day’s configuration and has a reasonable chance of opening her summer account
  49. KANDY DU MIDI – 6th of 8 finishers behind KANDY CHAMPOSOULT (10) in a 2925m Cagnes Class G 3 weeks ago. Forced to start on back line and will have little to contribute
  50. KARTOUCHE DE BAIS – Made it 2 straight eliminations when losing her action in a 2550m Gabarret Class F on 28 July. Has been afforded time to recalibrate and if applied can impose
Summary: Eliminated twice last month when visibly flying, it will not be long before KARTOUCHE DE BAIS (12) delivers for her new handler. She will not be helped by the draw but with stride in check can bring home the bacon. Dynamic in the day’s configuration, KANDY CHAMPOSOULT (10) is plainly close to her race and even from the back row can put up significant resistance. KALINE DU RABUTIN (9) came good at Vittel a fortnight ago and with form maintained, can again figure prominently. Handed the plum spot in front, and reassuring last weekend, KAEDI DJOC (3) will not be sent out at 64/1 this time.

  52. ISCO DE JOUDES – Unplaced in last 3, latterly 12th of 14 in a 2950m Vichy Class F last Tuesday, however Serge Peltier would not make the trip without good cause. Attention
  53. JAKARTA DU LEVANT – Flew up in a 2650m Hyeres Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Is confirmed here and looks a serious proposition this time
  54. ICARE DES CHAMPS – 7th of 13, on return to competition, in a 2925m Cagnes Class F on 20 August. Consistently gives his best though and, solid on sole start here, is worth keeping an eye on
  55. JUP AND STAR – Takes a notable drop in category after finishing last but one in a 2925m Cagnes Class A last weekend. Has previously imposed under these conditions but others still preferred
  56. JUST THE GREEN – Placed at Montlucon before running 7th of 12 in a 2700m Class F at Aix early this month, and is unlikely to make much of an impact
  57. JOLIE MOME CHIC – Returns to racing clockwise after running 5th of 8 in a 2000m amateurs Class G at Divonne-les-Bains 9 days ago, and is not incapable of contesting the finish this time
  58. JANE LUIS PORSGUEN – Eliminated in a 2725m monte Class F at Aix 3 weeks ago. Front shoes off but still not a concern
  59. JASPER DU BELLAY – Ran 2nd at Biarritz before going one better in a 2450m Villereal Class D 3 weeks ago. Should take well to the new profile and is unlikely to be far off the mark
  60. INTERMEDE DU RIL – Serious type that ran 4th of 8 in a 2925m Cagnes Class E a month back. Boasts solid clockwise references and at this level can wrap it up
  61. ITXASSOU – Steps back up in category after coming 4th of 8 behind JO DE CAZOULENE (12) in a 3025m Sault amateurs Class H 3 weeks ago. Is clearly in fine form and, 2nd at Hyeres in this configuration, must not be overlooked
  62. JO DE CAZOULENE – Pleasant 2nd of 8 in a 3025m Sault amateurs Class H 3 weeks ago, but a repeat seems most improbable
  63. INDIGOTE – Failed to confirm Beaumont performance when eliminated in a 2950m Biarritz amateurs Class H on 22 July. Shod as she was when 4th here last November but is still unlikely to influence the result
  64. JICKY GIRL – Makes her Salon bow after running 5th of 11 in a 2650m Class G at Les Sables-d’Olonne 2.5 weeks ago. Just 325 Euros from elimination and will be expected to put in a big performance
Summary: In solid shape since returning from his lengthy absence, INTERMEDE DU RIL (10) has done everything right for his new trainer and could well offer him a first win if he takes to the new conditions and successfully negotiates the start. JICKY GIRL (14) enjoys a superb entry here though and will be entrusted to David Bekaert. JAKARTA DU LEVANT (3) has yet to impose at Salon but is barefoot as she was when romping at Hyeres. Always willing, and presently in fine shape, JOLIE MOME CHIC (7) looks a decent place chance.

  66. IVANHOE DE NORON – Last of 6 in a 2175m Sault amateurs Class H 3 weeks ago and will have few takers
  67. JERICO BADREC – Has not been seen out since running 4th of 8 finishers, a place behind JOCKSTRAP (10), in a 2650m Mareseille-Vivaux Class E in late-May. Is barefoot but is going to need the race
  68. JUNON DU VASSET – In the frame in last 3, latterly 3rd of 8 in a 2650m Hyeres amateurs Class G 2.5 weeks ago. Races barefoot this time and although unlikely to win this, can nevertheless challenge for a spot in first 5
  69. JAPON DAIRPET – Ran 3rd at Saint-Galmier before winning a 2700m Aix Class E on 3 August. Has adapted well to his new surroundings and from the front row will be no pushover
  70. JEEK D’ACADIE – 3rd at Hyeres before being eliminated in a 2600m Cavaillon Class G 2 weeks ago. Has never been successful with front pads fitted but is plainly in shape and should not be ruled out
  71. JULIAN DARK – Out of the picture in last 2, most recently eliminated in a 2875m Meslay-du-Maine Class F mid-August, but is no slouch when focused and David Bekaert is in the bike
  72. JEWELLE OF JANE – Would have finished close in a 2300m Class F at Marseille-Borely on Thursday had she not lost her action. Is plainly in top condition and on good behaviour will be expected to contest the finish
  73. IBRA TEJY – Imposed at Hyeres on 1 August then ran 2nd of 11 in a 2850m Class F at the same venue 12 days later. On back line once more but can still make this his own
  74. JOCKSTRAP – Takes on a less-elevated lot after running 4th of 9 in a 2150m Cagnes Class F last weekend. Incurs the penalty but still seems to have a lot to contribute
  75. JALAPENO – Produced a pair of fine Cagnes performances before faulting early in a 2150m Class F at the same venue last weekend. Races shod for first time here but still looks competitively well in
Summary: Most of the big-hitters can be found on the back row here and on paper it looks a match between the in-form IBRA TEJY (9) who left a good impression here in the spring, and the tricky but talented JEWELLE OF JANE (8) who has not once disappointed racing clockwise. JOCKSTRAP (10) has been acquitting himself competitively over recent weeks and is unlikely to let the side down. Hard to fault when focused, JALAPENO (11) has shown a liking for Salon and with application can go far.

  77. KHAZAR DES CORVEES – By no means disgraced when 6th of 12, a place behind KOSMOS DE SOCERY (5), in a competitive 2700m Cagnes Class F mid-month. Is unlikely to get his nose in front but with form maintained can make first 5
  78. KING DE BASSIERE – Modest type that finished last of 10 in a 2450m Jullianges claimer a week ago. Drawn well but will struggle to make his mark
  79. KLYDE DU PUY – Back under harness after being eliminated in a 2650m Saint-Galmier monte Class F on 22 July. Shoes fitted though and best to wait
  80. KOSMOS DE SOCERY – 3rd under the saddle before coming 5th of 12 in a 2700m Cagnes Class F a fortnight ago. Has been handed a good number and should again figure prominently
  81. KAPORAL DU JOUR – 3rd in an Aix Class F before finishing 11th of 14 in a 2000m Divonne-les-Bains Class F 12 days ago. Sports a new configuration but still not an obvious choice
  82. KRONOS DU GITE – Last but one behind KOSMOS DE SOCERY (5) in a 2700m Cagnes Class F a fortnight ago. Is plainly in competition-mode and winning this is well within his capacity
  83. KUZCO DE CANI – Won a 2175m Sault Class H on 10 August but in this company has little to no chance
  84. KHAZIM – Quickly eliminated in a 2700m Class F at La Capelle a month back. Is better than most here on a good day, has been reconfigured, and the engagement of David Bekaert speaks loud
  85. KAMARO DE JOUDES – Failed to confirm Aix form when 10th of 14 in a 2000m Divonne-les-Bains Class F 12 days ago. Theo Briand gets the nod this time though and could well pick up a cheque
  86. KITUS DE BERTRANGE – Eliminated in last 2, latterly a 2425m Jullianges Class F last weekend, and can be passed over
  87. KEN QUICK – Imposed at Hyeres before running 4th of 10, a place behind KIR VENUS (13), in a 2600m Cavaillon Class F 2 weeks ago. Shoes off this time though and could yet exact revenge
  88. KIR VENUS – Made up for Hyeres blunder when 3rd of 10 in a 2600m Cavaillon Class F 2 weeks ago. Is behind in earnings and looks the one to beat
Summary: Even though shod and forced to start on the second line, KIR VENUS (13) has demonstrated significant ability this summer and can win this. Also in shape, and a place behind him at Cavaillon, KEN QUICK (12) is barefoot and Nicolas Ensch will be eager to turn the tables. The capricious but capable KRONOS DU GITE (7) is barefoot following a pair of comeback conditioners and will be expected to produce a big run for his new handler. KOSMOS DE SOCERY (5) appears to have turned a corner lately and considering the draw, is unlikely to disappoint.

  90. IZAROSANGELA – 7th of 9 finishers in a 2150m Cagnes Class F conditioner last weekend. Has solid references at this level and will be competitive at the business end of the race
  91. JOLI MANNEQUIN – No closer than 5th in last 5 starts, latterly 6th of 7 in a 2925m Cagnes Class E 3 weeks ago. Is not devoid of ability though and could yet play a small role
  92. IZIA NINI – Completed the hat-trick before running 4th of 9 in a 2950m Vichy Class C on 2 August. Has a lot going for her here and, confirmed at the venue, will be hard to oppose
  93. IMOKO DEUX – 2nd of 10 in a 2600m Cavaillon Class G 2 weeks ago. Has been as solid as a rock this summer and deserves to get her nose in front one of these days
  94. HERMES SCOTT – Pleasant 4th of 15 in a 2700m Aix Class F late last month. Has been reconfigured though and chances limited
  95. JET SET DU BELLAY – Debuts at the venue after being eliminated in a 2725m Aix monte Class F 3 weeks ago. Has otherwise been acquitting herself competitively and is easy to like for a place on the podium
  96. JALOUSIE DE L’ISLE – Made up for late-July elimination after running 3rd of 10, a place behind IZAROSANGELA (2), in a 2700m Cagnes Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Theo Briand in the bike this time and will not be going home empty-handed
  97. GALVESTON – Useful type but starts for first time since running 6th of 11 in a 2525m Cavaillon Class F on 17 June, and with shoes on will have nothing to offer
  98. ISSU DES LOYAUX – Makes first appearance since finishing 9th of 10 to IZIA NINI (4) in a 2950m Vichy Class E on 11 June. Just front pads fitted and is not about to create an upset
  99. GRANIT PACO – 9th of 11 in a 2600m Divonne-les-Bains Class E 3 weeks ago. Has been a write-off for much of the year and is not about to change his ways
Summary: Highly impressive over recent weeks, IZIA NINI (4) failed to pull off the 4-timer when in very good company last time out, but she drops back in category, is reunited with David Bekaert, and is going to take all the beating. IMOKO DEUX (5), however, has been knocking at the door and represents the main danger. JET SET DU BELLAY (7) has been very hard to knock under harness this year and Kevyn Thonnerieux can be justifiably confident of a big run. IZAROSANGELA (2) returns to a more suitable distance, is evidently in form, and debuts right-handed with a realistic chance of making the frame.
