Summary: SPANISH BREEZE CEN (6) was far from disgraced against a lot stronger last time out and now drops in class for this assignment which should see him putting in a serious performance. MELANESIA (10) won with plenty in hand last time out and despite taking a step up in class, she has a handy galloping weight and can give the boys a big run for their money. GRAND ETTORE (3) produced a very good effort on debut to grab the honors and is open to any amount of improvement. He will need to up his game in this contest but could be up to the task. FAMILLY (7) is better than her latest effort and can have a say in the outcome.

Summary: KAMARO D’HUEZ (1) has been running over the obstacles and has been in terrific form. He followed a similar route last year when going on to win this race and could double up. He has brilliant form on the flat and is the one to beat. LATO KALEO (6) has produced two pleasing efforts since notching up two wins in a row and from the ace gate, should have every chance of challenging strongly. KARLA CONTI (10) has been runner up at her last three attempts and with a bit of luck on her side, she could go one better. KALEO JIM (5) has the right type of credentials to land a blow here.

Summary: SPRING HEART (7) brings very solid form into the race and was a recent winner at Clairefontaine over 1400m. She is confidently selected to go back to back and win. PLACEHOLDER (10) can be forgiven for the last run when seventh at Deauville over 1600m. She was a winner before that at Chantilly over 1600m in a Handicap and will be a serious contender here. Summary: A very competitive Quinte. ACTO (4) was not seen at his best at Deauville last time out but won a good race at this course earlier in the year and gets a narrow vote to score. DROPSHOT (3) is hat-trick seeking after some solid wins and can do so first time in a handicap. NOFIX (8) is in good form and looks capable of winning off this mark. Summary: CALAMANDRA (7) has some work to do to catch up to her brother Calandagan but she is talented. This longer distance should suit her and she should go well under Mickaël Barzalona. KATHINA (2) is right at home over these longer distances and should be a threat as usual. ANKARA (8) is unbeaten in two starts but does tackle stronger opposition this time. PEARLA (10) has made the trip from the United Kingdom and deserves respect for that.

Summary: An interesting and competitive-looking race. VICTORY QUEEN (6) looked good in her first two wins, has not been disgraced since, and she could set the standard. REVOIR (8) bounced back to form with a good runner-up performance at Salisbury and can go one better. REINE DE MEDICIS (9) heads up the local challenge, and with continued improvement she should be a threat. BENAMIRA (2) has a good finishing kick and is another to consider.

MAX VERST (2) is as consistent as they come and is a must for the shortlist. SOUS INFLUENCE (4) is very competitive off his current mark and is another one to take into account.

Summary: MAGDA (4) was an eye-catching finisher on debut at La Teste on 11 August. Typical of Jean-Claude Rouget’s horses, he should improve massively for the experience and can get off the mark. Newcomer PIKES PEAK (9) is related to five individual winners and his local starting price will be very informative. LE DOC (2) is no star but can stake a claim. REVE DU FRAISSE (7) makes most appeal amongst the remainder.

- TESTERINE – Well backed but finished only 9th on debut at Vichy on 15 July. Should not be ruled out on the back of this sole effort
- MASAYA – Newcomer by the Grey Gatsby out of an unraced Kendargent mare who has produced one winner thus far. Betting will guide
- PERSIANROMY – Newcomer by Persian King out of a dam who is a sister to a Group 3 winner. Likely to be at the premises and is best to monitor in the betting
Summary: HABIBA (3) posted a solid first start effort at La Teste one month ago and with the addition of cheekpieces here, she can record a first career success. Newcomer PERSIANROMY (13) is well related and will be interesting to follow for an in-form yard. AFFECTION (10) made a promising debut to her career at Vichy and is sure to improve for the run. The experienced SPARKS OF LOVE (7) looks best of the remainder.

Summary: STORM STAR (4) brings some decent form and plenty of experience into the race which should be just enough to come on top. HOWABOUTHATNOW (1) is expected to improve a lot on the debut race at Clairefontaine and warrants the utmost respect. MOKKA LATTE (7) ran a good race in a handicap at Deauville last time and in similar form will have her chances. PEARL SPIRIT (8) posted a promising first start effort for her new yard at Clairefontaine and is one to be closely monitored.

Summary: MAPLE GIRL (3) comes in the race in modest form but she is far more effective on testing ground and is expected to bounce back under conditions that will suit. CLEMENZA (1) has been in excellent recent form and is expected to feature prominently once again. HURRICANE LIGHT (8) has not been fitted with blinkers for a long time and could bounce back. Judged on her penultimate start, MARDEN (11) has every chance of making the frame.

Summary: JAVA DES CAILLONS (8) has struck a purple patch of form. She can complete her hat-trick and take out this lucky last race. JUNGLE GREEN (13) ran better than she showed at Vincennes and could be a lively danger over this track and trip. JERZINHO SPORT (4) fluffed his lines with a disqualification at Vincennes but was in fine form before that. JOY JENILOU (11) is not reliable but is quite capable of winning a race of this nature.
