R1 VINCENNES [L-H]

C1 – PRIX DELTA CAFES (PRIX DE CHAUMONT) – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class C – Harness – EUR € 46,000

  1. LUCKY D’AURCY – 10th of 12, on first run since last December, in a Class D over track and trip mid-month and will have nothing to offer
  2. LOOKING D’AURCY – Last of 9, on return to competition, in a 2850m Class D here a week ago and can be ruled out
  3. LUCIFER DU CAIEU – Last but one behind LORD DE BANVILLE (7) in a 2100m Class C here 10 days ago, his first start since March, and with shoes on is unlikely to shake things up
  4. LOIC D’AVEL – 5th of 9, a place behind LE MAC (5), in a Class C under these conditions a month ago. Sports 4 pads for the first time, is very much at home over 2700m here, and looks competitively well in
  5. LE MAC – 4th over course and distance before running 3rd of 12, a place behind LEGACY JIEL (14), in a 2825m Chartres Class B on 12 September. Champion driver back in the bike and has a decent chance of making the frame
  6. LEXCELLENT DU METZ – Missed out by little in a 2100m Class D here on 9 September. Is proven here, races barefoot again, and is unlikely to disappoint
  7. LORD DE BANVILLE – Got back in the game 10 days ago when 5th of 8 finishers in a 2100m Class C here. Matthieu Abrivard reining this time but still not a concern
  8. LAMONT DU DOUET – Unraced since being eliminated in a 2250m Enghien monte Class C on 19 July, and best to hold off
  9. LE METEQUE – Opened his 2025 account in a 2775m Class C at Les Sables-d’Olonne early last month. Comes here fresh and while not a priority still merits respect
  10. LOBSTER DU BELLAY – 9th of 12 behind LEGACY JIEL (14) in a 2825m Chartres Class B conditioner earlier in the month. Is in competition-mode though and can contest the finish this time
  11. LICAR SOMOLLI – Won 2 in a row before running 2nd of 7 to LE METEQUE (9) in a 2775m Class C at Les Sables-d’Olonne early last month. Takes on a better lot here but should nevertheless hold his own
  12. LEMON FLEURY – Quickly eliminated in a 2750m Class B at Les Sables-d’Olonne 3.5 weeks ago. Goes barefoot this time but will have other ambitions
  13. LE JIBAY – 6th of 7 finishers in a 2875m Enghien Class C early last month. Comes here fresh, barefoot, and with Adrien Lamy in the bike, but others still easier to back
  14. LEGACY JIEL – Runner-up in last 2, latterly a place in front of LE MAC (5), in a 2825m Chartres Class B earlier in the month, and is unlikely to let the side down
  15. LORENZO BERRY – Quality element making first appearance since winning a 2175m Class C here last February. Is still in conditioning mode though and best to wait
  16. LEDZEP – Made amends for Cagnes elimination when dominating a 2525m Cavaillon Class C 9 days ago. Has solid Vincennes references and even though discovering 2700m here still looks the pick of the field
Summary: Ideally-engaged at the limit of earnings after having imposed with authority at Cavaillon recently, LEDZEP (16) has already won for his driver and is thoroughly capable of doing so again. LOBSTER DU BELLAY (10) is plainly at his best though and will be competitively-shod for the first time, and reunited with David Thomain who won with him in Cabourg. LEXCELLENT DU METZ (6) has hardly put a foot out of line for 6 months and is confirmed under these conditions. LE MAC (5) has been improving all the while lately and has yet to disappoint for Eric Raffin.
    SELECTIONS

    C2 – PRIX FIDELIDADE ASSURANCES – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 46,000
  17. OIS TSCHIKAGO – Won over 1900m on comeback in Berlin-Mariendorf on 24 August, his 4th straight victory, but is taking on too much here
  18. KILGORE – Makes first appearance south of Scandinavia after finishing 7th of 11 over 2140m in Ostersund in early-August. New trainer will not give him a hard race and best to monitor this time
  19. KELLOU DES BRUMES – Scored smartly at Meslay-du-Maine before being eliminated in a 3000m Chateaubriant Class D 2 weeks ago. Is reunited with Eric Raffin but others still easier to support
  20. ERES DORIAL MAIL – Won a similar event across town in early-August before running 5th of 9 finishers, a place behind THE LION (11), in a Class D over track and trip late last month, and from the 4-spot will not be far from the action
  21. LOVEBIRD – 3rd of 8 in a 2700m Class B here a fortnight ago. Has been entrusted for the first time to Yoann Lebourgeois who can be confident of a competitive performance
  22. KASH DES RIOULTS – Left a good impression, on just 2nd start back, when 2nd of 10 in a 2675m Class E at Le Mont-Saint-Michel on 17 August. Barefoot as he was when 4th over track and trip in April, and will be worth watching
  23. ENAOZ – Complicated but capable Italian sort that won his only start under these conditions. Is barefoot for comeback, with JMB reining, but latest eliminations do little to inspire confidence
  24. EL DORADO BAR – Finished last but one, on return from a break, in a Class B under these conditions 10 days ago. Is no stranger to these shorter trips and, shod to preference this time, is not to be overlooked
  25. KANKAN – 3rd at La Rochelle before coming 2nd of 10 in a Class D over track and trip mid-month. Not ideally-drawn but in current shape will be no pushover last the business end of the race
  26. FARAMIR AS – Returns to Vincennes after being eliminated in a 2150m Argentan Class D in early-August. Boasts good speed, appreciates these conditions, and with application can make this his own
  27. THE LION – Quality nordic import that ran 4th of 9 finishers in a Class D under these conditions late last month. Has the 4 year-olds to deal with this time but still represents a respectable first-5 chance
  28. ESPRESSO ITALIA – Useful Italian raider returning to Paris after finishing unplaced over 2120m at San Siro earlier in the month. Eliminated on lone Vincennes start and is unlikely to shake things up
  29. KITKO DAIRPET – Showed improvement when 4th of 10 behind KANKAN (9) in a Class D over course and distance on 16 September. Pulled a 2nd row number but still has the wherewithal to finish close
  30. FOLLETOCAR – Made little impression over 2120m in Milan on 12 September. Not devoid of talent but has little love for Vincennes and can be passed over
  31. FORCE OF NATURE – 2nd of 11 over 2140m in Jagersro 3 weeks ago. Is barefoot with Mathieu Mottier in the bike, has previously won here, but the draw will do him no favours
  32. PURE STEEL – Good 2nd at Enghien before losing his action in a Class D under these conditions late last month. Unfavourably-positioned and can be ruled out
Summary: Runner-up in both starts over course and distance after leaving his native Italy, FARAMIR AS (10) comes here fresh and even from the 2nd line can impose. Gabi Gelormini will still be keeping a keen eye on the widely-drawn, and reconfigured, KANKAN (9) who was beaten only by a very good horse here recently, and KITKO DAIRPET (13) who finished not far behind. LOVEBIRD (5) has been enjoying a fruitful run of form and the draw will only work to his advantage.

    C3 – PX BANQUE CAIXA GERAL DEPOSITOS FRANCE – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 46,000
  33. FUNNY GIRL (ITY) – 2nd of 11 in a 2150m Argentan Class D on 9 August. Has been afforded ample time to recover and will not be available at 31-1 this time
  34. KARA POU RAFAL – Encouraged at Argentan before finishing 7th of 9 behind ELEGANZA AV (8) in a Class D over course and distance on 30 August, and is unlikely to make her presence felt
  35. LUNGA DES BROUSSES – Speedy filly that ran 3rd of 8 in a 2175m Class C here 3 weeks ago. Enjoys an excellent spot on the front line and must be considered a player
  36. LERIKA DU CHENE – Has shown marked improvement since starting to race barefoot, most recently winning a Class C under these conditions 9 days ago, and from the 4-spot is very easy to recommend
  37. KOSY D’ERONVILLE – 4th of 9 behind ELEGANZA AV (8) in a Class D over course and distance on 30 August. Handed the 5-spot and will have her supporters
  38. KLASSICA BLEUE – Comfortable winner in Cabourg before being eliminated in a 2750m Ecommoy Class B in late-August. Is hard to knock when applied though and should not be underestimated
  39. ELTYME – Reassuringly close 2nd of 8 in a 2150m Enghien Class D on 10 August. Has placed in 2 of 3 Vincennes runs but would have better prospects a level down
  40. ELEGANZA AV – 13th of 15 when prepping for this in a Class B over track and trip a fortnight ago. Goes barefoot for the occasion and even though breaking wide, still has a lot to offer
  41. ESTEREL GI – Faithful mare returning to Vincennes after finishing last of 5 in a mile conditioner in Turin 2 weeks ago. Has previously trotted 1’10”4 here and despite the draw could well get her nose in front
  42. LISBETH DRY – Imposed on re-entry in late-August, comfortably winning over 2300m in Mons. Takes on a better lot here however and chances limited
  43. FIRST KISS BI – Has not been seen out since being eliminated in a 2850m Class D here last June, and is going to need the race
  44. RAGAZZA DU CHENE – Put in a solid performance, on first start for 5.5 months, when 5th of 9 behind ELEGANZA AV (8) in a Class D over course and distance on 30 August. Will have come on for the run and cannot be ruled out
  45. FINLANDIA TOR – Eliminated in last 2, latterly a 2150m Argentan Class D early last month, and has nothing to offer here
  46. QUEEN OF THE NIGHT – Failed to confirm Enghien effort when 6th of 9 behind ELEGANZA AV (8) in a Class D over course and distance on 30 August, and the draw only compounds matters
  47. KENISA – Fine 3rd of 13 in a Class E over course and distance on 12 September. Will not be available at 170-1 this time but will not be the most competitive either
  48. LOVE ME AGAIN – Last of 8 on re-entry behind LUNGA DES BROUSSES (3) in a 2175m Class C here 3 weeks ago. Is still being conditioned and best to keep one’s powder dry
Summary: A capable Italian mare that won under these conditions during the spring, ESTEREL GI (9) may be starting wide but she runs barefoot and can wrap this up if Andrea Guzzinati successfully negotiates the start. Significantly better positioned-behind the car, and sharp course-and-distance winner recently, LERIKA DU CHENE (4) is easy to fancy, as is the similarly well-placed and in-form LUNGA DES BROUSSES (3) who put on a reassuringly good show here 3 weeks ago. FUNNY GIRL (ITY) (1) pleasantly surprised in Argentan and with form maintained will be no pushover.

    C4 – GRAND PRIX DU PORTUGAL (PRIX D’ARGELES) – 2850m (a2m) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 56,000
  49. HAND FULL – Excellent in 4 provincial runs before finishing last but one to NEO TURBO (2) in a 2100m Class E here last weekend, and would be preferred a level down
  50. NEO TURBO – Won 3 of last 4 starts, latterly a 2100m Class E with ease here a week ago. Alexandre Abrivard in the bike again and has a realistic chance of confirming
  51. HIBISCUS DE LATOM – Encouraged at Amiens before finishing 8th of 10 behind GARTH VADER (4) in a 2500m Reims Class E a fortnight ago and has no realistic chance
  52. GARTH VADER – 5th of 11 in a 2500m Reims Class E a fortnight ago. Arguably engaged the wrong tactics that day but is plainly better than that and Matthieu Abrivard will be keen to put things right
  53. HIP HOP DE MADKER – 4th of 7 finishers in a 3450m Agon Class E on 25 August. Has previously won under these conditions and with the help of David Thomain can play a part
  54. HALL BLACK MESS – Not the luckiest 7th of 10 finishers in a 2750m Cabourg Class D late last month. Boasts a decent barefoot record but still looks out of his depth
  55. FIGHTER SIMONI – Stayed on well to come 3rd of 12, a place behind HANDZARO DU BOCAGE (15), in a 2100m Class D here late last month. Is patently close to his race and will be reunited with Benjamin Rochard
  56. HERMES PAT – Takes a notable step up in category after running 2nd of 12 in a 2850m claimer over the inner track here last Tuesday, and is biting off more than he can chew
  57. HUGO DU BOURG – 7th of 10 in a 2100m Class D here on 5 September. Out of the picture in last 3 and, even racing barefoot, will first need to get his house in order
  58. HAJIME – Unopposed winner of a 2150m Cagnes Class E on 16 August. Has not put a foot wrong all year and is not about to start now. Chance
  59. HELECHO – Made up for Agon elimination when victorious in a 2400m Amiens Class D 3 weeks ago. Is not about to repeat but can still get in on the action
  60. HIPPOCRATE DU TRIO – 6th of 7 in a 2800m Rambouillet Class D last Sunday and is not about to influence the result
  61. HANA D’OCCAGNES – 7th of 9 finishers in a 2175m monte Class D here 3 weeks ago, but ran 4th over course and distance last month and is unlikely to be far off the mark
  62. HEAVEN STAR – 6th of 12, a place behind HAIKIDO (16), in a 3350m Pornichet Class E in late-July. Reverts to his formula of preference but still has more to find
  63. HANDZARO DU BOCAGE – 2nd of 12, at 15-1, in a 2100m Class D here on 30 August. Has never excelled under these conditions but can nonetheless hold his own
  64. HAIKIDO – Finished well to run 7th of 13 in a 2100m Class D here on 12 September. Guillaume Beaufils could not have wished for a better entry and will be hoping Franck Nivard takes advantage
Summary: Not the luckiest at Reims two weeks ago, GARTH VADER (4) returns to a track he appreciates and if he takes to the specificity of the 2850m course, will be in a position to win this. That said, NEO TURBO (2) set his personal best time over shorter here last weekend and will be no soft touch. New to Vincennes but barefoot and plainly in rude health, HAJIME (10) must be considered a major player, as should FIGHTER SIMONI (7) who just had the measure of Matthieu Abrivard’s horse last time out. HAIKIDO (16) may not have been delivering lately but he benefits from an excellent entry here and Franck Nivard will be eager to get him back in the game.

    C5 – PRIX DES ELITES – 2175m (a1m1/4) – Gr1 – Mounted – EUR € 240,000
  65. LAGUNE – Non partante
  66. LAMBADA DU GOUTIER – Unsurprisingly eliminated in 2700m Gr.2 Prix Camille de Wazières here in early-September and can expect to have few friends
  67. LOLITA BOURBON – Makes monte bow after running 4th of 13 in a 2150m Enghien Class C in early-July. Has evident ability but still seems to be facing a stiff test
  68. LOVE LETTER – Quickly eliminated in a 2850m harness Gr.1 here 2 weeks ago. Unseen in the code since last November but showed considerable aptitude and, freshly-reconfigured, will have her supporters
  69. LIBERTE DU GOUTIER – Won monte debut in early-August before easily winning 2700m Gr.2 Prix Camille de Wazieres on 5 September. Is patently a high-class filly and looks main threat to L’ECRIN D’OR (11)
  70. LAPIS LAZULI – Well-beaten last of 7 in Prix Camille de Wazières earlier this month and can be confidently disregarded
  71. LOUVE DE REVE D’OR – Debuts in the discipline after running 5th of 11 finishers in 2850m Gr.1 Criterium des 4 Ans a fortnight ago. Benjamin Rochard has been bullish but understands that this depends on getting his filly off on the right foot
  72. LIONHEART – 3rd in Prix du President then 5th of 7 finishers to LIBERTE DU GOUTIER (5), on re-entry, in 2700m Gr.2 Prix Camille de Wazieres on 5 September. Goes first-time barefoot and should not be underestimated
  73. LUCKY JACKSON – Out of the picture in last 4 harness starts, most recently eliminated in a 2825m Chartres Class B earlier in the month. Makes first appearance under the saddle for new trainer but others easier to trust
  74. LOVISSIME – 4th of 7 finishers to LIBERTE DU GOUTIER (5) in 2700m Gr.2 Prix Camille de Wazieres on 5 September. Will not be available at 36-1 this time and Guillaume Martin can be quietly confident
  75. L’ECRIN D’OR – 2nd of of 7 finishers to LIBERTE DU GOUTIER (5) when preparing for this in 2700m Gr.2 Prix Camille de Wazieres on 5 September. Barefoot as he was when victorious at Gr.1 level and will take all the beating
  76. LISBONNE DRY – Serious filly that was a surprisingly below-par 6th of 7 in Gr.2 race of reference. Sports pads this time and will be no soft touch if Paul Ploquin assures her initial strides
  77. LEXIE DE BANVILLE – Gr-1winning filly making first start since coming 4th of 13 to L’ECRIN D’OR (11) in 2850m Gr.1 Prix du President on 22 June. Is barefoot for comeback and, arguably better over longer, could still make first 5
Summary: The 2025 edition of the Prix des Elites looks a proper cracker and while Gr.1 Prix du Président winner L’ECRIN D’OR (11), barefoot for the occasion, will be a tough nut to crack, he is still going to face considerable resistance from monte revelation, and recent Gr.2 Prix Camille de Wazieres winner, LIBERTE DU GOUTIER (5), and a reconfigured LISBONNE DRY (12) who should not be hastily-condemned for failing to deliver that day. It has taken some time but LOVISSIME (10) reassured on that occasion and must be taken more seriously this time around.

  79. HABIT DE SOIREE – Disappointing form of late and was 8th in this class at this track over 2850m on 30 August. Capable of better but others are preferred

  81. ILAYA – In good shape and finished fourth in this class at this track over 2850m on 13 September. Can make the frame
  82. ISOFOU DU CHENE – Returned to form and was barefoot and third in this class at this track over 2850m on 13 September. Big chance in this line-up

  87. HERO SIBEY – Did not show his best when 12th in a Group 3 at Craon over 2775m on 8 September. Can get involved with the finish
Summary: A competitive-looking race. ISOFOU DU CHENE (5) bounced back with a decent performance last time out and can do even better this time. HURRICANE CARTER (3) has won nearly half of his starts and is quite capable of adding another victory. He remains in very good form. COOL KRONOS (1) has not been reliable of late but did recently run well over this track and trip. HORATIUS D’ELA (9) suffered a rare disqualification at Meslay-du-Maine and can contest the finish.

  90. JAMAICA BROWN – Proved in need of her only run of this year when 14th in a Class C over this course and distance on 18 September. Could need this run as well
  91. KEMIA DU CHENE – Unreliable and finished 11th in this class at Feurs over 2850m on 8 September. Capable of an upset this distance

  101. KAVIARISSIME – Not easy to trust and finished 9th in a Group 3 at Meslay-du-Maine over 2875m on 10 September. Capable of popping up in a place when in the mood
Summary: KARAMBAR (11) does his best when racing without shoes and was a good winner last time out. He can follow up if in the same mood. KOBAYASHI (12) has a mixed bag of form this year but is capable of winning a race of this nature. KELLE BEAUTE (10) has not won for some time but did put in a good effort in her penultimate start and is not out of it. JOS MAZA (9) has been very good of late, but this is a tougher race.
