French Selections Friday 10th

R1 VINCENNES [L-H]

C1 – PRIX INGEBORG – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 49,000

  1. VINCI NICE – 6th of 10 behind RUGER (11) in a 2575m Agen Class F on 21 September. Starts on the inside and is unlikely to create an upset
  2. DENIA – 7th of 15, on comeback, in a Class B over course and distance on 13 September. Has had ample time to get back in shape and should prove significantly more competitive this time around
  3. JABLONSKI – 10th of 11 behind JUST A COUET (9) in a 3125m Angers Class D on 1 October. Is still being conditioned and best to wait
  4. ROBTHEBANK – Opened his French account at Bagnoles-de-l’Orne in late-August before being eliminated in a 2575m Agen Class F 3 weeks later. Enjoys a good draw but still appears to have too much to do
  5. BATTUTA FACE – Consistent for the most part but eliminated in last 2, latterly a 3125m Angers Class F on 1 October, and others easier to back
  6. JUNKIES MINDS – 3rd over course and distance before running 2nd of 12 in a 2150m Mauquenchy Class E a month ago. Matthieu Abrivard in the bike this time and can win this
  7. JUSTICIA GLAM – 5th to JUNKIES MINDS (6) at Mauquenchy prior to finishing 9th of 11 behind JUST A COUET (9) in a 3125m Angers Class D on 1 October. Goes barefoot this time and cannot be ruled out
  8. DIVA DEL RONCO – Takes a dip in category after coming 11th of 15 in a 2700m Class C here 3 weeks ago. Barefoot this time but still looks to be out of her depth
  9. JUST A COUET – Good, consistent type that stayed on well to finish 4th of 11 in a 3125m Angers Class D on 1 October. Thrives at Vincennes and in spite of a wide draw is not going to be far from the action
  10. DERBY KRONOS – Raced better in a Class B under these conditions 3 weeks ago than his 6th of 15 would suggest. Forced to break on back line but in this company looks a serious proposition
  11. RUGER – Disappointed here on 12 September but made amends when 2nd of 10 in a 2575m Agen Class F 9 days later. David Thomain in the bike this time and should not be written off
  12. KAXIG IN – Quality nordic raider that ran 3rd of 8 over 1640m in Gothenburg in mid-August. Has freshness on his side, races over his distance of choice, and will have a lot to contribute if Benjamin Rochard successfully navigates the start
  13. MAHARINA SUN – Quality Scandinavian mare that most recently ran 3rd of 12 in a valuable 1640m event in Farjestad 3 weeks ago. Christophe Martens would have preferred a better draw but still looks a respectable first-5 choice
  14. APPASSO – 5th of 11 over a mile at Orebro on 23 August. Has been handed a tough draw but is behind in earnings and must be considered a player
  15. SIDNEY CELEBER – Has not been seen out since running 5th of 7 finishers over a mile in Follonica in early-July. Is confirmed under these conditions but is still going to need the run
  16. DARLINGTON FAME – Made unremarkable French debut 3 weeks ago when eliminated in a 2525m Cavaillon Class E. Has pulled a difficult number and can be passed over
Summary: Wonderfully performant over these shorter trips, JUNKIES MINDS (6) is plainly close to his race, enjoys a good spot behind the car, and has every chance of opening his autumn account. DERBY KRONOS (10), however, drops in category and even from the 2nd row will be no easy touch. In the frame in 3 of his last 4 starts, the Swedish KAXIG IN (12) makes his French debut with hind shoes off and Benjamin Rochard in the bike. DENIA (2) will have come on for her return run and sports a new configuration for the occasion.

    C2 – PRIX LUCINA – 2850m (a2m) – Class C – Harness – EUR € 53,000
  17. KEMPEL DE GUEZ – Makes first appearance since running 8th of 15 in a Class C under these conditions last February and will need the outing
  18. KAZAN BEACH – Fast-finishing 8th of 13 behind KNOK (9) in a Class D over course and distance early last month. Took time to get on the bit that day but is patently in sufficiently good form to win a race of this nature
  19. KISS WOOD – Back under harness after coming 11th of 17 in a 2850m Laval monte Class E mid-September, and will not be troubling the opposition
  20. KNOCK OUT – 2nd to KAZAN BEACH (2) at Cherbourg in August before being eliminated early in a Class D over course and distance 2 weeks ago. Useful on a good day but others easier to trust
  21. KANDEL DE BEYLEV – 7th of 12 behind KOPA D’ARC (10) in a Class D over course and distance 2 weeks ago. Is not without merit but too much is being asked of him this time
  22. KING DE L’OUEST – Took little time getting back in the money, latterly 3rd of 16 in a 2725m Pornichet Class D 3 weeks ago. Excels when barefoot and focused and on good behaviour will not be far off the mark
  23. KALMIO DE LOU – 7th of 11 in a 2850m Class C at Lyon-Parilly on 17 September. Top driver back in the bike and can figure prominently if he gets his charge off on the right foot
  24. KARMA TEJY – Excellent in 2 at Enghien before finishing 8th of 10 in a 2100m Class D here in late-August. Sports modified shoeing but still not an obvious choice
  25. KNOK – 2nd over track and trip in early-September, then 8th of 10 finishers, a place behind KITTS ET NEVIS (13), in a 2700m Vincennes Class C 3 weeks ago. Should not be too hastily-judged though and will be competitive for a cheque
  26. KOPA D’ARC – Romped at La Capelle before missing out by little in a Class D over course and distance late last month. Has shown a liking for racing with 4 pads and Franck Ouvrie would be justified in feeling bullish
  27. KIR NORMAND – Easily imposed, for the first time in almost 2 years, in a 2850m fours Class E early last month. Is not about to get his nose in front but can still finish in the mix
  28. KING DE GINAI – Produced 3 fine efforts before losing his action in a 2700m Class C here 3 weeks ago. Cannot be considered a priority but with application is unlikely to disappoint
  29. KITTS ET NEVIS – 7th of 10 finishers in a 2700m Class C here on 19 September. Has 3 runs under his belt and with his mind on the game can bring home the bacon
Summary: He may be a complicated type, and may never have delivered under these conditions, but KITTS ET NEVIS (13) races barefoot for just the 2nd time in his career and Yoann Lebourgeois will be justifiably confident of a big performance. He will still be mindful of the talented KAZAN BEACH (2) who put in a good effort last time out, and KOPA D’ARC (10) who ran an excellent race here a fortnight ago and who once again looks competitive for a place in the frame. As tricky as they come, KALMIO DE LOU (7) is by no means short of ability and will be reunited with Eric Raffin.

    C3 – PRIX ABULFEDA – 2850m (a2m) – Class C – Harness – EUR € 53,000
  30. KETY DU GOUTIER – Has not raced since being eliminated in a Class C under these conditions last February. Shoes fitted and no threat
  31. KRAKANTE – Starts for the first time since running 5th of 16 in a 2700m Class D here last March. Is shod to preference though and could pleasantly surprise
  32. KERIDA DE VIVOIN – 7th of 15 in a 2700m monte Class D here on 1 September. Here for reasons of conditioning and can be passed over
  33. KILLARNEY – Failed to confirm Enghien victory when eliminated over 2300m in Mons 10 days ago, and in this company will struggle to make her mark
  34. KOH SAMUI – 9th of 14 behind KID LEA DRIVER (7) in a Class D over course and distance on 3 October. Needs to reassure but the change of driver may be just the ticket
  35. KEDEA DE GINAI – Useful sort that finished 9th of 12 to KAROLINE CALINE (12) in a 2725m Pornichet Class D conditioner 3 weeks ago, but still has more to find
  36. KID LEA DRIVER – Honest mare that ran 4th of 16 in a Class D over track and trip last Friday. Is not about to take the world by storm but should nevertheless hold her own
  37. KEY TO SUCCESS – Courageous 2nd of 10 in a 2950m Toulouse Class C a fortnight ago. Has taken her game up a notch over recent months and will be expected to play an active role
  38. KLASSE DE BRUZEAU – 11th of 14 behind KID LEA DRIVER (7) in a Class D over course and distance on 3 October, her first start for 4.5 months, and even racing barefoot is unlikely to make much of an impact
  39. KAPELLA VET – 6th of 12 in a 2700m Class C here on 21 September. Has never disappointed under these conditions though and will not be going home empty-handed
  40. KALINKA DU GRENAT – Won a Class D here in late-August before finishing 6th of 15 in a 2100m Class B here 2 weeks later. Drops marginally in category and is unlikely to let the side down
  41. KAROLINE CALINE – 4th over course and distance in early-September before making short work of a 2725m Pornichet Class D 3 weeks ago. Anthony Barrier takes over from Eric Raffin but still looks competitively well in
  42. KAGNOTTE D’AZIF – Makes first appearance since finishing 6th of 12 in a 2750m Cabourg Class D in late-August. Is nicely-engaged but still represents a minor place prospect at best
  43. KOMERE DE CORDAY – 5th of 16, on just 2nd start back, in a 2875m Class D across town on 13 August. Should be fully fit by now and, given the entry, must be regarded a player
  44. KORALIA DE CROUAY – Unlucky 8th of 15 in a 2100m Class B here on 13 September. Is clearly in rude health though and can set the record straight. Claim
Summary: KORALIA DE CROUAY (15) drops in category after an uneasy trip over shorter here last month, but did leave a very good impression at Gr.2 level in August and, considering the excellent entry, can return to victorious ways. Eric Raffin can still expect to feel the heat from KAROLINE CALINE (12) who races barefoot after having imposed comfortably at Pornichet, and the exciting KOMERE DE CORDAY (14) who will have been prepared for this. KOH SAMUI (5) showed little here a week back but with JMB reining can figure prominently.
    SELECTIONS

    C4 – PRIX HERA – 2850m (a2m) – Class C – Harness – EUR € 68,000
  45. HENZO DE CARSI – Eliminated in a 2175m harness Class D here 12 days ago. Has otherwise been showing good harness form over recent months, and even though in better company this time, he is well-placed in front and should hold his own
  46. HILTON DU HOULET – Moves up in category after coming 3rd of 13 in a 2100m Class E here on 21 September. Showed good speed that day but with shoes fitted this time is unlikely to spring any surprises
  47. IRON PARKER – Quality element that has not been seen out since August 2023 and is going to need the race
  48. IRIS FROM – Showed improvement when 4th of 14 in a 3125m Angers Class E on 1 October. Takes on a superior bunch here and chances seem limited
  49. HAPPY DANOVER – Capable on a good day but will need to improve on his 7th of 8 finishers in a 2150m Enghien Class D late last month
  50. FILOU SMILING – Went close at Rambouillet before finishing 8th of 15 in a 2700m Class C at Le Croise-Laroche last week and is unlikely to have many friends
  51. INTOUCHABLE – Returns to the harness discipline after finishing 5th of 7 in a 2700m monte Class B here a month back. Matthieu Abrivard in charge this time and will be afforded every chance
  52. HOLD UP DU DIGEON – 6th of 14, on first start for 4.5 months, in a 2725m Lisieux Gr.3 on 24 September. Franck Nivard at the helm this time and, given the gelding’s liking for the course, must be respected
  53. HIMBERLAND – 2nd of 14 in a 2850m Class D at Lyon-Parilly Class D on 17 September. Has been as solid as a rock for some time and deserves to get his nose in front
  54. HOLLYWOOD DU BOIS – Failed to make any impact when 9th of 14 behind HOLD UP DU DIGEON (8), on first start after a spell, in a 2725m Lisieux Gr.3 on 24 September. Will have come on for the run, is confirmed under these conditions, and can make first 5
  55. IACYNTHE DIDJEAP – Good 3rd of 13 in a 2700m Class C here early last month. Appreciates these particular conditions and represents a solid place prospect
  56. IALTO D’HERTALS – 5th of 15, on re-entry, in a 3500m Craon Class B in late-September. Has nothing to prove at this level and must be considered a priority
  57. FURIOSO FLIGNY – Showed promise during the spring but has since lost his way, most recently 9th of 15 in a 2700m Class C here 3 weeks ago, and can expect to have few takers
  58. GREZ – Returns to the harness code after running 3rd of 11 in a monte Class D over course and distance on 18 September. Tends to go well here and although unlikely to impose, can still compete for a spot in the mix
Summary: In cracking form, and a winner over course and distance last season, HIMBERLAND (9) has yet to be defeated with Yoann Lebourgeois in the bike and the couple is expected to continue their love affair. IALTO D’HERTALS (12) gave a super account on his recent comeback and with shoes off this time will be no soft touch. IACYNTHE DIDJEAP (11) has not won since January but is plainly in fine fettle and boasts an excellent record with Eric Raffin. INTOUCHABLE (7) has never excelled over 2850m here but runs barefoot for the occasion and his trainer has been talking him up. HOLD UP DU DIGEON (8) will have progressed for his good re-entry run, has been reconfigured, and is not to be underestimated.
    SELECTIONS

    C5 – PRIX THERESIA – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 41,000
  59. JULLOU – 2nd of 11 finishers in a 2725m Lisieux Class E on 24 September. Has been knocking at the door since returning from his summer break, has been freshly reconfigured, and will have a lot to offer if Franck Nivard keeps him trotting
  60. JAWAX DE KERYANN – Faithful element stepping back up in category after winning a 2850m amateurs Class G 10 days ago. Decently-positioned on front line and can play a small role
  61. JUST BUILT – Reassuring 3rd of 16 to JAWAX DE KERYANN (2) in a 2850m amateurs Class G over the inner course 10 days ago. Has pulled a good number and is unlikely to disappoint. Place chance
  62. JAZZY FLIGNY – Raced better behind JET NONANTAIS (6) in a 2700m Class E here early last month than his 7th of 14 would imply. Eric Raffin in the bike again and the draw will do his chances no disservice
  63. JOURNAL INTIME – Left a good impression when 2nd of 15 in a 2850m Class E here on 21 September. Consistently gives his best and looks main threat to JET NONANTAIS (6)
  64. JET NONANTAIS – Imposed at Cabourg before running 2nd of 14 in a 2700m Class E here early last month. Seldom disappoints for David Thomain and is not about to start now. Claim
  65. JET DES MALBERAUX – Unexceptional 6th of 12 finishers in a 2700m Class E here a week ago and appears to have his work cut out
  66. JERONIMO DU CAUX – 4th at Rambouillet before coming 2nd of 14 in a 2825m Class E at Le Croise-Laroche late last month. Is pitted against better here and unlikely to shake things up
  67. JAPPELOU – 3rd of 11, a place behind JULLOU (1), in a 2725m Lisieux Class E on 24 September. Is enjoying a productive run of form and going barefoot this time could well keep the gravy-train rolling
  68. JET DE BUSSET – Eliminated when dominated in a 2850m Class E here on 21 September and will have little to bring to the party
  69. JARDIN DU ROI – Starts for first time since running 3rd of 12 in an amateurs Class G over 2100m on the inner course 4 months ago, and can be passed over
  70. JASMIN VIVANCIERE – 3rd of 15, a place behind JOURNAL INTIME (5) in a 2850m Class E here on 21 September. A model of consistency since the spring and can challenge for a place in the picture
Summary: A fine campaigner that is clearly back at the top of his game, JET NONANTAIS (6) is nicely-placed on the front row and can wrap this up. Dependable and versatile, JOURNAL INTIME (5) starts upsides and with form maintained will be no pushover. JASMIN VIVANCIERE (12) finished a place behind him that day and despite the draw still looks a major player. JUST BUILT (3) has produced some solid performances this term and Francois Lagadeuc will be eager to capitalise on the draw.

    C6 – PRIX EDMOND HENRY – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Gr2 – Mounted – EUR € 120,000
  71. KRONOS DE VANDEL – Failed to secure the 3-timer when 4th of 17 in a 2850m Laval Class E in mid-September. Is taking on far too much this time though
  72. KARA D’OR – 3rd of 16 in a 2800m harness Class B at Le Croise-Laroche 11 days ago and in this company has no possible chance
  73. KANSAS QUESNOT – Consistent sort that ran 2nd of 8 finishers in a 2875m Enghien Class D in early-August. Returns fresh for monte debut but still not a concern
  74. KATCHINA FOR CLARA – 4th of 8 to KAPAULA DE L’EPINE (9) in Gr.2 Prix Hervé Ceran-Maillard on 13 September. Consistently in the thick of things when focused and on good behaviour should not be too far from the action
  75. KANO – Last of 9 on re-entry in a 2875m Enghien harness Class B 11 days ago. Won a Gr.2 earlier in the year and even though shod for monte comeback, must still be respected
  76. KARAKA WOOD – 5th of 8 in Gr.2 Prix Hervé Ceran-Maillard here, on ridden debut, before running 2nd of 14 in a 2700m harness Class B here 12 days ago. Is clearly in fine shape and can play an active role
  77. KOBAYASHI – 3rd of 14, a place behind KARAKA WOOD (6), in a 2700m harness Class B here late last month. Makes monte bow for a yard firing on all cylinders and has every chance of imposing
  78. KEENGAME – Facile winner of a Gr.3 in August before coming close 2nd of 8 to KAPAULA DE L’EPINE (9) in Gr.2 Prix Hervé Ceran-Maillard on 13 September and should again contest the finish
  79. KAPAULA DE L’EPINE – Put a 22 months winless streak to bed when securing Gr.2 Prix Hervé Ceran-Maillard on 13 September and if still on the boil can repeat
  80. KYT KAT – 6th of 8 to KAPAULA DE L’EPINE (9) in Gr.2 Prix Hervé Ceran-Maillard on 13 September. Surprisingly below-par that day but still cannot be ruled out
Summary: Placed at Gr.2 level under harness, KOBAYASHI (7) makes his first public appearance under the saddle and with pads fitted for the occasion can get straight down to business. The complicated KEENGAME (8) runs barefoot for the first time, has nothing to prove at this level, and although preferred over shorter, still represents a major threat. KAPAULA DE L’EPINE (9) had her measure here last month and will similarly have her chances. 5th on that occasion before beating Mottier’s horse under harness, KARAKA WOOD (6) must be taken seriously.

    C7 – PRIX PAULINA – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class B – Harness – EUR € 52,000
  81. MISTER PARKER – Oddly below-par 10th of 11 in a 2700m Class B here on 21 September. Is clearly in fine shape though and is expected to redeem himself
  82. MIX D’ERONVILLE – Switched stables after winning his claimer over course and distance 10 days ago. Takes a notable step up the category-ladder but still has a reasonable chance of making first 5
  83. DAY AND NIGHT – Quality Italian filly making French debut after winning over 2120m at San Siro 2 weeks ago. Benefits from a good number, will be reined by Paul Ploquin, and with application should not disappoint
  84. MISTER CHARLY – Flew up on re-entry at Meslay-du-Maine before finishing close 2nd of 16 in a Class C under these conditions a week ago. Is plainly at the top of his game, has the plum draw in front, and can impose
  85. MODE DU VALLON – Last of 10, a place behind MEDEE DU CONROY (6), in a 2700m Class B here 2 weeks ago. Out of the picture in both since the break and must first reassure
  86. MEDEE DU CONROY – Mixes the good with the less good but is significantly better than recent 9th of 10 in a 2700m Class B here would suggest. Eric Raffin stays faithful and will be determined to correct the record
  87. GIULIA OP – Makes first foreign foray after romping over 1600m in Naples on 16 September. On front row but still not an obvious choice
  88. MY NAME IS BOND – Well-beaten in last 4, most recently 9th of 10 finishers in a 2800m Rambouillet Class B last Sunday, and will have nothing to contribute
  89. GOLD EAGLE PI – Makes French debut after emphatically scoring over a mile in Milan mid-September. Forced to start wide here, is shod for the occasion, and looks more a minor place chance
  90. MYAGO CAYENNAIS – Respectable colt starting for the first time since running 4th of 9 in a 2850m Class D here last July, and will not be given a hard race
  91. GILLES GRIF – Makes just 2nd start for new stable, latterly eliminated early in a 2700m Class A here on 6 September. Takes a dip in category and will be dangerous if he keeps trotting
  92. MARIO MASCAR – Has not been seen out since dominating a 2800m Vichy Class E in early-July and is going to need the race
  93. MYRENA – Unraced since running 3rd of 8 over 1609m in Berlin-Mariendorf 2 months ago. Starts on 2nd row but can play an important role if Leo Abrivard keeps her focused
Summary: Winner for Benjamin Rochard on his re-entry a month back, MISTER CHARLY (4) came close to securing the double over course and distance next time, and is easy to fancy for the spoils. Opposition will take the form of MEDEE DU CONROY (6) who will be dangerous if Eric Raffin gets her off on the right foot, and the less favourably drawn, and complicated, GILLES GRIF (11) who has JMB in the bike for the first time. MISTER PARKER (1) was unable to pull off the hat-trick here last month but Mathieu Mottier will be eager to put things right.

    C8 – PRIX GORDONIA – 2850m (a2m) – Gr3 – Mounted – EUR € 90,000
  94. JUPITER DE PLAY – Should not be too hastily-judged for running 6th of 9 in a 2175m Class B here 10 days ago. Can prove a handful but presents solid Vincennes references and will be in the running for some prizemoney
  95. GOOD GIRL MARCEAUX – 8th of 9 to HALFA (6) in Gr.3 Prix Georges Dreux under these conditions on 21 September. Shod to preference this time but others still easier to back
  96. FLEURON D’ACADIE – 2nd in Gr.2 Prix Camille Lepecq early last month before finishing 10th of 14 in a 2725m Lisieux harness Gr.3 conditioner 3 weeks later. Is barefoot this time and while not a priority should not be written off either
  97. GO OR NOT – Serious type making first start since running 3rd of 9 in a 2700m Class A here last February. Shoes fitted and not a concern
  98. IN LOVE DU CHOQUEL – Ran 3rd to HALFA (6) on re-entry on 23 August but finished last of 9, again to her, in 2850m Gr.3 Prix Georges Dreux on 21 September. Sports 4 pads for the first time and cannot be ruled out
  99. HALFA – Won a Class A over course and distance in August before repeating in a Gr.3 over course and distance on 21 September. Has form at a superior level and will be competitive for the win
  100. IMPALA DE VAL – Serious trotter that missed out by just small margin to HALFA (6) in Gr.3 Prix Georges Dreux under these conditions on 21 September and will be expected to play a leading role
  101. EXTREME DESBOIS – Won Gr.2 Prix Camille Lepecq before running 5th of 9 to HALFA (6) in 2850m Gr.3 Prix Georges Dreux on 21 September. Should not be too hastily-judged; Mathieu mother will be keen to set the record straight
  102. IT’S A DOLLARMAKER – Quality individual making return to the ridden code after faulting in a 2850m Lyon-Parilly Gr.3 on 17 September. Has proven himself at the highest level and is reunited with Eric Raffin who will be out to prove a point
Summary: Unseen in the discipline since running 4th in the Gr.1 Prix Bilibili in December 2023, IT’S A DOLLARMAKER (9) benefits from a superb engagement here and with Eric Raffin in the saddle can make this his own. HALFA (6) comes here on a hat-trick though and can bring the fight to him. IMPALA DE VAL (7) put on a good show behind her in the Gr.3 Prix Georges Dreux and Benjamin Rochard will be out for revenge. EXTREME DESBOIS (8) was unable that day to replicate his Gr.2 Prix Camille Lepecq success but it would not be wise to ignore him.

C1 – PRIX TIBOULEN – 2300m (a1m1/2) – Class F Amateur Drivers – Harness – EUR € 6,000

  1. HALL BLACK DREAM – Much improved last run when 3rd in Class G at this track over 3000m on 23 September. Has major disqualification issues but could play a minor role
  2. ISLA – Has already won four times this year and was runner-up in Class E over this track and trip on 1 October. Big chance in this line-up
  3. GAETAN – In good shape and was runner-up in Class G at this track over 3000m on 1 October. Can contest the finish
  4. HOUSTON D’ARIANE – In good form and was 3rd in Class G at this track over 2300m on 23 September. Capable of making the frame
  5. JENY LOVE JEPHI – On a long losing run and finished 6th at Lyon-Parilly over 2850m on 17 September. Better this distance and could be competitive this time
  6. FILOU RIEZAIS – Only modest of late and finished 5th in Class G at this track over 3000m on 1 October. Could play a minor role

DAISY DAISY (2) is also worth a look—she was outclassed in Group 3 company last time but had won both of her previous starts and should not be overlooked.
