    Summary: EBIYAR (1) boasts a strong pedigree, being by Siyouni and out of a high-class mare who was Listed-placed and a Group 2 winner. He looks capable of making a winning debut. KAVARI (8) is the pick of Maxime Guyon and is a half-brother to Group 2 winner Sober. He should be involved at the business end. AERONEF (7) also makes plenty of appeal on paper—his half-brother, Sacred Spirit, is a Listed winner, so he merits respect. KINESIS (4) is another well-bred type and should be kept safe.

    Summary: GLOBAL ASSET (8) has a taking profile and is a half-sister to the classy Glycon, who has won in Group 2 and Group 3 company. She will be expected to make a winning debut at the expense of another well-bred filly in MAINTAIN (6), who is a half-sister to New Ground, who is a winner twice and has been Group 1 placed this year in the Epsom Derby and the Grand Prix de Paris. HEROISTE (3) and LA JUSTICIERE (7) both look good on paper and could be well above average.

  22. YELLOW JERSEY – Unbeaten in three runs, the latest success over 2000m in a Class 1 race at Deauville on August 14th by 3L. He is on an upward curve and deserves to step up in class today
  23. BAY CITY ROLLER – Two solid 2nd placed efforts of late, the latter over 1950m in the Prix Dollar (Gr.2) at this track on October 4th. Capable of being competitive
    Summary: A competitive Group 2, with a lot of closely matched rivals. JUNKO (3) could be the one to come out on top. He was a good second in the Grosser Preis von Berlin (Gr.1) at Hoppegarten last time in August and is a marginal choice ahead of DUBAI HONOUR (2), who also seems in top form with a decent second in the Wettstar.de 155 Grosser Preis von Baden (Gr.1) on September 7th. YELLOW JERSEY (6) steps up in class and is on an upward curve, while BAY CITY ROLLER (7) also merits serious consideration.

    Summary: ANNABEL’S GHOST (2) can return to form after a couple of below-par efforts and is best judged on his third-place finish at Dieppe in July in a Class 2 race over 3000m. He’s also a course winner, having scored over 2600m here in April. WOOT CITY (8) has been out of sorts recently but has shown solid course form in the past, with a pair of placings in the spring. MEHLANGO (14) looks a reliable each-way option for punters, while LORENZO DE MEDICI (16) carries a light weight and can run well again. ACOTANGO (11) leads the remainder and is capable of being involved in the finish.

    Summary: VELIKAYA (9) looked like a filly on an upward curve when scoring by over four lengths at Saint-Cloud in a handicap in September. She is a marginal choice ahead of the English raider RAINBOWS EDGE (5), who has Oisin Murphy booked to ride and ran well when second at Saint-Cloud in a Listed race on October 3rd. VILLA CASTELLO (1) was back in fourth in the same race and should have a say in proceedings. QUALIXIA (2) and DUNE (10) make up the shortlist.

She looks poised to strike and can do so if the top choice is not alert. ASHIKIDAH (2) comes into the race off a win over the distance and must be given serious consideration.     Summary: THE ANGEL KING (1) can be forgiven for his below par last run as his penultimate run when finishing third in his post maiden run shows he is capable. He is lightly raced and could make a redeeming presence felt. O SOLE MIO (5) delivered an encouraging third over the course and distance and has every chance to go one more as he features on the track and trip again. KEREMET (15) has had only five career starts and this colt could finish much closer than his last two starts suggest. ALABAMA MOON (4) wraps up the mix.

  11. NINON DREAM – Honourable 4th of 13 in a 2150m Enghien Class C 10 days ago. Has a lot of progress in her and can bring the fight to NESPERA (10)
    Summary: Fastest qualifier in the field, NESPERA (10) did everything asked of her on debut in early-August. She hasn’t been rushed back to competition and can double up if she turns. Théo Duvaldestin will still be keeping a keen eye on the nicely-engaged NINON DREAM (11) who showed marked improvement in Paris recently, and NIKITA DES CHARMES (8) whose performance at Les Andelys did not go unnoticed. Alexandre Buisson sends out a pair here and the untried NIKITA DES ILES (2) is just preferred.

  23. NEAL DE TROUVILLE – Drops in category after running 5th of 7 in a 2200m Vincennes Class A on 23 September. Is not out of the picture but is not a priority either
    Summary: The untried NOLIO DU BARBEY (2) left quite the impression in qualification here earlier in the month; Alexandre Buisson’s horses have been in rude health and his partnership with Yoann Lebourgeois frequently pays dividends. NATIONAL HERO (9) got straight off the mark 3 weeks ago and will have progressed. NICKNAME (6) goes clockwise for the first time and Mathieu Mottier will be determined to set the record straight. Better than his Montauban result would suggest, NOVECENTO (11) looks the sort that can do well at a track like Caen.

    Summary: It took some time and a change of code but LOUDGI D’AZE (6) got off the mark in good order 2.5 weeks ago and Alexandre Angot can be confident of picking up another victory. He will still be mindful of the reinvigorated LOVELY ONE (3) who is out for a Caen double, and the first-time-barefoot LYRIC (9) who has already imposed under these conditions. LOOPING DU PERRE (5) is still chasing that elusive first win but he always gives his best and will be shod as he was here earlier in the year.

A high-class type at 3 and 4, INDIGO DU PORET (6) makes his first ridden start since December 2022, sports a fresh configuration, and given the form of Mathieu Mottier’s yard, he must be considered a serious proposition. JUST FOR BACK (8) put in a good showing in Paris recently and with shoes off this time will be no soft touch. The talented HASARD D’ERABLE (9) has been somewhat spirited lately but has been reconfigured and on good behaviour will not be far from the action.

    Summary: Ideally-engaged at the earnings threshold, and quite clearly at the top of his game, IGUANE DE CAPONET (8) will be shod to preference this time and can finally break his Caen duck. Frequently a bit of a handful, HAWAI PONT VAUTIER (6) has nevertheless quite a liking for the venue and considering the entry should be taken very seriously. HARDI CROWN (7) is back at a more reasonable level and will be expected to figure prominently. Unbeaten at Caen and patently close to his race, JET EXPRESS (12) has pulled a tough number but Philippe Daugeard’s yard is currently firing on all cylinders and is unlikely to disappoint.

    Summary: MISSANDEI (9) has been running in tough fields all year and was not at all disgraced when third last time out. That sets the standard for this race, but she does face several promising and improving three-year-olds. MAROLY (5) has only been beaten once in four starts and will not go down without a fight. MELOMANE DE LOU (6) has disqualification issues but was unlucky at Craon and is not out of it. MAVERICK ELLIS (4) let his supporters down when faulting last time out but is another to consider.

    Summary: An interesting race. LOOKIERO (14) starts from an awkward position but has been a barefoot winner of his last two starts and is quite capable of turning that into a treble. LEIPZIG TEK (7) is not one to trust entirely but has won some nice races this year and is clearly not out of it. LESTER DU CHERISAY (9) tackles tougher opposition this time after some solid recent wins. LATINO LA MAZURE (5) is also capable of winning.
