  2. SCATAR – Credible 2nd over 3800m at Dieppe on June 19th in a handicap hurdle last time out. Back from a layoff and over fences. He won two Listed chases in 2024. This run might improve his fitness
  3. JARDIN D’ARTHEL – Unplaced in a Grade 3 chase over 4400m at Auteuil on September 27th, a win previously over the same track and trip in a Listed chase on May 17th. Key chance

  10. KRISNA – 5th on her last run, a win previously over 3950m at Waregem (BEL) on September 2nd. This will be more challenging
  11. PASTOUREAU – Fair 4th over 4400m in a Listed chase at Auteuil on September 23rd. Hard to rule out off a decent handicap rating
  12. SEIGNEUR DES AS – 5th on the one start this year over 3500m in a Class 3 chase at Auteuil on September 13th. He will strip fitter today, but others are preferred

Summary: JARDIN D’ARTHEL (3) was a good winner in a Listed chase at this track in May, and he will strip a lot fitter for his run in a Grade 3 chase at this track on September 27th. He has been supplemented for this race and is given the vote ahead of HERALISTE (7), who won the Prix Montgomery (Handicap) chase Grade 3 in October 2024 at Auteuil and will improve from his run in a Listed hurdle late in September. KALIBRE (8) is an option each way, and JOST (6) will not lack fitness and is hard to rule out of the top three. BENOU (4) also enters calculations and can give a good account of himself.

  14. BUONSOLE – Gelding by King Edward, the dam was placed on the flat three times. Stable runners tend to need a run or two for experience. Watch for another day
  15. TAVACO – Gelding by Doctor Dino, the dam won two races over jumps and was Listed placed over hurdles. Stable runners are respected on debut. Monitor the betting patterns
  16. PARLEZVOUSANGLAIS – Gelded son of Doctor Dino, the dam was placed on the flat. He should be watched in the betting for any market support from a respected trainer
  17. MAVERICK SIVOLA – Newcomer by Jeu St Eloi, the dam won 3 races over jumps. Taking profile, and he should be monitored in the betting exchanges for clues
  18. MUSTANG DU BREUIL – Gelding by Goliath Du Berlais, the dam won 7 races on the flat and over jumps. Stable runners are respected on debut, and any market interest should be noted
  19. BELVEDERE PALACE – Two unplaced runs of late, 1 win previously over 1600m at Vichy on the flat on August 15th in a handicap. He will be well schooled by his shrewd trainer and warrants respect
  20. MAILLOCHE – Placed on both runs on the flat, the latter over 2500m at Nort-sur-Erdre on October 5th. Unlikely to be a threat in an open race
  21. GUADALQUIVIR – Colt by Zarak, the dam won 7 races over jumps, including a Grade 3 hurdle. Well-bred and from a top stable. Bold show expected
  22. MARVEL DEBELLEVUE – Gelding by Masked Marvel, the dam won 1 race on the flat. Likely to need this run for experience, and is best watched for now
  23. MYSTERE D’AUTHIE – Newcomer by Headman, the dam ran on the flat a few times. Trained by shrewd connections. Watch the betting patterns for clues
  24. DUKE SENAM – Unraced by Saint Des Saints, the dam won 4 races over jumps. His trainer has two in the line-up, and both are expected to be involved
  25. ADES – Gelding by Gemix, the dam won 1 race on the flat. Nice profile and representing a leading trainer. He will know what is required on debut. Hard to rule out
  26. GRIS DE MYM – Gelding by Gris De Gris, the dam never ran. He does not appeal as a likely winner on his debut on his pedigree and is best watched for the time being
Summary: GUADALQUIVIR (8) is from a leading stable and has a choice pedigree. He will be well prepared by his shrewd handler and can be expected to score on his racecourse debut. ADES (12) looks good on paper and is from a top stable that will have this youngster well schooled for his racecourse bow. TAVACO (2) is also one that should play a leading role in his first appearance in public. BELVEDERE PALACE (6) is a winner on the flat twice, and if he stays this trip, he can have a say in the proceedings.

  29. OKKIDO – Unplaced last time, 3rd before that over 3800m at Compiegne on March 24th in a Class 1 hurdle. Grade 3 chase winner at this track in 2023. He needs to recapture his best form to be involved

  31. JUNTOS GANAMOS – He fell at Auteuil in a Grade 3 chase only 5 days ago when leading at the time. Class act when he is on song, and if he puts in a clear round of jumping, he will be hard to beat
  32. ALCYONE ROUGE – He failed to finish over 4400m in a Grade 3 chase on October 18th, out again quickly, and warrants respect if none the worse for his recent mishap
  33. PRESTIGE D’OLVA – Credible 3rd on the last run over 3500m in a Class 1 chase at Auteuil on September 19th. He will strip fitter today and is hard to rule out
Summary: JUNTOS GANAMOS (5) is a talented but error-prone chaser. He fell in a Grade 3 at Auteuil just five days ago, but if none the worse, he will be hard to beat. KIF KIF BOURRICOT (4) likely needed the run when fading late last month in a Grade 3 chase on his first outing since March and should improve for it. He can be a threat. ALCYONE ROUGE (6) was an early faller over fences at Auteuil 5 days ago, but can’t be dismissed if fit to go. PRESTIGE D’OLVA (7) looks best of the rest.

  37. MISS CHANA – Ran well to be 4th on the flat over 2900m on October 8th at Argentan last time out. Class 1 hurdle winner over 3500m at Pau in January previously. She will strip fitter for her recent run and warrants respect

  42. LASCA DE THAIX – Pleasing success over 3600m in a Class 2 hurdle at Auteuil on September 18th on her last start. This will be a stiffer test
Summary: TANTE ZENA (5) ran well when second in a Class 1 hurdle at Compiegne last month and has previous form at this track. She is preferred ahead of CI PPO RA (1) in this Listed event. The latter has been racing over fences recently and was a decent second at this track in a Class 2 on September 27th. Back over hurdles should not be a concern. FAMILY SPEED (3) scored over track and trip on September 23rd in a Listed hurdle and can be involved, as can SILVER BUCKLE (6), who was second that day.

  50. L’UNION JACK – He won on his sole start over 3600m a Clairefontaine on September 5th by 2.5L in a class 4 hurdle. He can be expected to come forward for that experience and looks like a nice prospect
  51. LEADER MAG – Placed on both starts, 2nd on the most recent over 3600m at Compiegne on May 7th in a Class 3 hurdle race. Can make the top four
  52. LUSAKA DE THAIX – Non runner
  53. MARVEL MAX – Unplaced on the one run this year on March 29th over 3550m in a hurdle race, a win previously over 3550m at Fontainebleau on October 5th, 2024. Place contender back from an absence
  54. HE’S ON FIRE – Fair 4th on his hurdles debut over 3600m at Auteuil on September 13th. Open to plenty of improvement, and he is worth considering each-way
Summary: ILLUSION MACHINE (2) has made a strong impression with two wins at this track, the latest coming in a Class 2 hurdle earlier this month. He races prominently and will be dangerous if allowed to dictate. L’UNION JACK (8) scored on debut at Clairefontaine and looks the main danger with improvement likely. SHAENJET (1) won his first hurdle start in March 2024 after good flat form and could feature if fit. LEADER MAG (9) is also one to keep in mind.

Summary: SHABRACK (1) is in solid form, with two recent third-place finishes and a Class 2 hurdle win at Compiègne in September. He should be competitive despite carrying top weight. MISS DES BOULLATS (5) ran well to finish fourth in a competitive handicap hurdle here 22 days ago and could push the selection. DEMOISELLE ADAM’S (2) has won two of her three starts and commands respect on her handicap debut. ADDICTION GAGNANTE (7) also makes the shortlist.

  69. LE GRAND LUX – He has shown plenty of talent, with three placed runs. 2nd at Angers on the latest over 3800m in a Class 3 hurdle on September 11th. Player
  70. LEMON – Recent success on his second start over 3800m at Moulins on September 17th in a Class 3 hurdle. Open to improvement and has a place chance
  71. LUDMIKO – Two wins so far, on debut on the flat in November 2024, he then needed a few runs over hurdles before scoring on the latter over 3550m in a Class 4 hurdle on October 4th. He can be involved
  72. LIBERTY FLY – 6th last time over hurdles in September, a win before that over 2600m on the flat at Vichy over 2600m on August 15th. Unlikely to feature

  75. LASCAR D’AIRY – Recent success over 3000m on the flat at Nancy on September 28th by 3L. Hurdling debut, and he is worth considering as he will be well prepared by connections
  76. LAMIA D’AIRY – Unplaced on the one run over 3800m at Moulins on September 17th in a Class 3 hurdle race. Look for an alternative
  77. LADY PALMA – She won on her last run over 2450m at Cluny on September 27th in a conditions flat race. Hurdles debut and faces a stiff task

Summary: LEADER CONTI (1) has shown plenty in his three starts. He was a decent second on the latest of them at this track in a Class 2 hurdle earlier this month and is given the vote ahead of LE GRAND LUX (2), who shaped well at Angers when second in a Class 3 hurdle in early September when last appearing. LEGEND DU LEMO (6) is better than the last two starts and can make the top three. LASCAR D’AIRY (8) is another to respect and can be on the premises.

  79. MOTY MARC – Solid player over fences, 2nd over 3700m in a Class 1 chase at Clairefontaine on July 28th on his last run. He can play a lead role despite heading the weights
  80. HARTHUR DES OBEAUX – Nice win over 4100m at Craon on September 28th in a handicap chase on his last start. Ought to be in the shake-up
  81. NAVARRENX – Seems to run well at this track. 3rd over 4400m in a handicap chase at Auteuil on October 1st in a handicap chase. In the mix
  82. LET ME DREAM – Placed on his four runs this year, 2nd on the latest over 3600m at Saint-Brieuc on October 5th in a Class 4 chase. Place contender
  83. LUREKA DU NOYER – Two unplaced runs since a 2nd over 3500m at Dieppe on July 12th in a Class 3 chase. Unlikely to make an impact
  84. MANIYSA BLEUE – Recent win over 3600m in a claiming hurdle at Auteuil on October 1st. 4th in a Class 1 chase at this track in October 2024. Among the leading each way players

  88. LE PRETENDANT – Four unplaced runs of late, 9th on the latter over 4400m at this track in a handicap chase on October 1st. Look for an alternative
Summary: MOTY MARC (1) carries top weight and returns from a break since July, but he goes well fresh and should have the class to come out on top. NAVARRENX (3) has several placed efforts at this track and could be the one to push the selection hardest. CAPITAINE DINO (8) is a consistent performer and should run his usual honest race. HARTHUR DES OBEAUX (2) won at Craon over fences on September 28th and looks best of the remainder.

C1 – PRIX DES GRIVES – 2050m (a1m1/4) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 18,000

  1. NIGHTWISH TOR – Pleasant 1’19″5 in qualification at Meslay-du-Maine on 11 June. Has evident ability and should have a decent chance of finishing in the money
  2. NICKEL DE BAILLE – 5th of 11 in a 2100m Cholet Class D on 28 September. Will appreciate the new profile and from the 2-spot is unlikely to disappoint
  3. NO LIMIT PIYA – Left a good impression when qualifying in 1’19″2 at Caen in early-June. Handed a good draw and Antoine de Vaugiraud can be quietly confident
  4. NECTAR DE LA FYE – 8th of 11 in a 2100m Cholet Class D late last month. Has yet to show any aptitude for the game and can be passed over
  5. NOTRE DE MEMARTIN – 9th of 14 in a 2050m Cordemais Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Well-positioned in front but still not a concern
  6. NIEHKU – Qualified in 1’18”5 at Caen in early-June. Allaire’s runners never run unprepared and will, unsurprisingly, be heavily favoured. Claim
  7. NECIMI DES ROMAINS – 5th of 12 on debut in a 2100m Evreux Class G 3.5 weeks ago. Will have progressed for the run but in this company is not an obvious choice
  8. NICOU CHAK – Qualified in 1’18″5 in Gelsenkirchen on 28 September and would not be making the trip to Cabourg without a realistic chance of picking up a first-3 cheque
  9. NOTHING BETTER – Qualified in 1’18″4 at Caen in June. Did not go unnoticed that day and despite the draw can play a prominent role
  10. NEWTON DES BAUX – Posted 1’19″4 in Caen qualification 2 months ago. On back line and while not a priority should not be written off either
  11. NELSON GOLD – Qualified in 1’20″2 at Caen on 17 July. Not ideally-drawn but Robin Lamy has been going well lately and will afford his colt every chance
Summary: Any time Philippe Allaire sends out an untried juvenile, it is worth stopping to take heed, and worth noting that Kaviarissime won this race in 2022. His NIEHKU (6) hails from a good family, starts in front, and Yoann Lebourgeois will be keen to oblige. Mathieu Mottier, whose yard has been on fire this season, runs NICKEL DE BAILLE (2) who held his own first time out and will have come on for the race. Both NOTHING BETTER (9) and NICOU CHAK (8) qualified in good order, the latter in Germany, and if as good in competition will figure prominently.

  12. NUIT DE STAR – 4th on turf debut then confirmed in a 2100m Cholet Class D in late-September. Is learning his vocation in good order and is not one to be underestimated
  13. NEW ARTIST – Showed improvement when 3rd of 14 in a 2050m Cordemais Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Looks a serious trotter in the making and has an excellent opportunity to get off the mark
  14. NOSTALGIE DAIRPET – 3rd of 14 in a 2050m Laval Class F on 25 September. Has had almost a month to freshen up and from the 3-spot will be no soft touch. Chance
  15. NIGHT ERCA – Lost her action in a 2450m Caen Class D last Sunday. Nicely-positioned on front line but has yet to impress and is not an obvious choice
  16. NOUMEA DU CHATELET – Flattering 5th of 11 in a 2450m Caen Class D last weekend and can be confidently disregarded against these runners
  17. NYMPHE VRIE – Qualified nicely in June but failed to deliver on debut when 7th of 8 in a 2400m Carentan Class G on 6 July. Has had ample time to recalibrate and will be expected to show a different side this time around
  18. NALISMA – Returns to racing clockwise, and starts on a hard surface for the first time, after finishing 5th of 9 in a 2000m Rambouillet Class E on 7 September, and is unlikely to garner much support
  19. NUANCE KADESH – Left a good impression in qualification but was eliminated on debut in a 2500m Class E at Bihorel-lès-Rouen 2.5 weeks ago. With application though, can play a role
  20. NEW ANNA’S PROJECT – Looked rather ordinary in early-July when qualifying in 1’20″7 at Caen. On back row and not a priority
  21. NEW LIFE – Racecourse debutante that qualified in 1’20″1 at Caen in early-June. Comes from a good home but is unlikely to ruffle any feathers
  22. NEMESIA – Qualified in 1’17″6 at Caen on 7 August. Caught the eye that day and despite the draw will be justifiably well-supported
  23. NEXT DANCE KALOUMA – Qualified in 1’20″2 at Caen 3 weeks ago. Handed a tough draw and is unlikely to shake things up in this line-up
  24. NOSTRA COSA – Qualified in 1’18”0 at Caen on 7 May. Comes from one of the best nurseries on the continent and must be considered a player
Summary: There are fewer untried elements in this line-up than in the colt’s version, and NEW ARTIST (2), who has shown considerable potential may just well be the horse to beat. That said, the well-positioned NOSTALGIE DAIRPET (3) gave a fine account on her Laval debut and will have come on for the run. NEMESIA (11) qualified in very good order in August and together with the similarly well-qualified NOSTRA COSA (13), form the main opposition.

  25. JIM CADE – 2nd of 11 in a 2825m Class E at Villedieu-les-Poëles on 14 September. Has never disappointed here and is unlikely to start now
  26. JEANNOT BUISSONAY – 12th of 15 in a 2700m Vincennes Class E on 5 September. Has freshness on his side but still not a contender
  27. JULIANO STILE – Eliminated in a 2700m Vincennes Class E earlier this month. Reverts to a successful configuration and has a realistic chance of making his Cabourg debut a winning one
  28. JERZINO VICI – Has not been seen out since finishing 11th of 14 in a 2750m Class E here in mid-August. Has had time to recalibrate, benefits from a good draw, and is not out of the picture
  29. JACKSON TOUCH – Lost his action on re-entry in a 2825m Chartres Class E a week ago. Can prove tricky but is otherwise a tough nut to crack and on good behaviour can make a big impact
  30. JALACTIC – Tricky character that ran 8th of 12 in a 2500m Reims Class E earlier this month. Handed a decent draw but others still easier to trust
  31. JOYEUX NONNA – Unremarkable type that ran 7th of 14 in a 2700m Graignes Class F on 12 October and appears to have little to offer
  32. JUMBO JACK – Quality trotter that finished 10th of 16 on comeback in a 2800m Rambouillet Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Remains shod though and best to hold off
  33. JUMPING DU RIB – Unable to complete the 4-timer when 7th of 16 in a 3125m Savenay Class F late last month. Shod differently this time and if applied can get a look in
  34. JACK QUICK – Failed to confirm Montier-en-Der effort when 11th of 18 in a 2825m Durtal Class F 11 days ago, and is not about to spice things up
  35. JACKPOT DE JUMILLY – 10th of 15 in a 2850m Laval Class E in mid-September. Is better than latest results would suggest and should not be overlooked
  36. JACQUOT DU DOME – Reassuring 3rd of 18 in a 2825m Durtal Class F on 12 October. Has little love for the venue and others preferred
  37. JAGUAR DE DALINE – Returns to a hard surface after winning a 2700m Segre Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Excels racing clockwise and even from the 2nd row looks a serious proposition
  38. JOKER CASTILUANNE – Hardy element that ran 4th of 16 in a 2850m Vincennes Class E on 21 September. Sports modified shoeing and will not be far from the action if Dorian Lepigeon successfully navigates the start
Summary: Surprisingly eliminated at Vincennes 3 weeks ago after having produced some fine performances over the summer, JULIANO STILE (3) sports a fresh configuration and from the 3-spot can set the record straight. JACKSON TOUCH (5) however, also enjoys a good draw, has a race under his belt following the summer break, and with application will have his chances. JAGUAR DE DALINE (13) took little time getting back in the winners’ circle, pleased on his lone Cabourg start, and over this distance the draw should not diminish his prospects. JIM CADE (1) gave a reassuringly good account last month and with application will not be far off the mark.

  39. LADY CHOUTE – Unexceptional sort that lost her action in a 3150m Saint-Brieuc harness Class F 12 days ago and is unlikely to change her ways
  40. LIGNE DROITE – Eliminated on monte debut at Caen before repeating in a 2850m Lyon-Parilly Class E 2 weeks ago, and can be confidently disregarded
  41. LIZA FLIGNY – Back under the saddle after finishing 12th of 18 in a 2800m Vire harness Class F 10 days ago. Is no superstar and is unlikely to trouble the judge
  42. LEDORIKA – Eliminated on re-entry in a 2800m Cholet harness Class F on 12 September. Pleased here last winter but others still easier to back
  43. LOVELY D’AUVRECY – Eliminated, on return to competition, in a 3100m Savenay harness Class F on 28 September. Has been freshly re-shod and while not a priority should not be written off either
  44. LOUISE ATTAQUE ERA – Eliminated in last 2, latterly a 2900m Challans Class F on 12 October. Has evident ability and is not to be ruled out, but still represents no more than a minor place prospect
  45. LADY DE GUEHAM – Quality filly that lost her action in a 2700m Graignes Class F last Saturday. Has been reconfigured for the occasion and can play an active role if Guillaume Martin keeps her focused
  46. LISE DE SIENNE – Unexceptional sort that was eliminated in a 2700m Graignes Class F in late-August and appears to have no possible chance
  47. LAVANDE DE SIENNE – 8th of 15 in a 2900m Challans Class F on 12 October. Got off the mark in late-August but has been disappointing since and can be passed over
  48. LUTINE DU CEDRE – 5th of 18 in a Class E over course and distance 3 weeks ago. Has demonstrated decent monte potential and with application should not disappoint. Place chance
  49. LADY BUTTERFLY – Modest filly that finished 13th of 18 in a 2800m Vire harness Class F 10 days ago and will have few friends
  50. LEDA SAINT LATUIN – 2nd of 14 in a 2725m Lisieux harness Class G 2.5 weeks ago. Is plainly close to her race and Jean-Yann Ricart can be justifiably confident of a big performance. Claim
  51. LALISSA – 6th of 16 in a 3225m Vitre harness Class F on 12 October. Has shown considerable ability in the other code and with her mind on the game will be no pushover
  52. LAGHERTHA DU PONT – Should not be too hastily-judged for running 8th of 17 in a 2800m Cholet harness Class F on 12 September. Is new to the discipline but should nonetheless contest the finish.
  53. LILI GUILLERVILLE – Returns to a track she appreciates after finishing 11th of 16 in a 2850m Laval Class E earlier in the month. Paul Ploquin in the bike this time and will have a part to play if he gets her off on the right foot
  54. LUXELLA – 8th of 16 on re-entry in a 2850m Laval Class E on 4 October. Will have come on for the run but still cannot be considered a priority
  55. LADY DE MAI – Eliminated in a 3000m Nantes harness Class E late last month. Has failed to demonstrate any particular bent for the discipline and is not about to create an upset
  56. LILA D’OCTAV – Unraced since finishing 6th of 14 in a 2950m Le Mans Class E on 22 May. Presents a decent monte record and even though starting on back line and out of competition 5 months, cannot be ruled out
Summary: New to the discipline and in excellent form, LEDA SAINT LATUIN (12) stays shod for the occasion and if as good under the saddle as she is under harness, she could finally lose her maiden tag. LALISSA (13) has no ridden references either but in this category could pleasantly surprise. Also a monte debutante, LAGHERTHA DU PONT (14) is nevertheless well-engaged here and Clement Frecelle is unlikely to let the opportunity pass him by. Pleasant under these conditions earlier in the month, LUTINE DU CEDRE (10) will be competitively-shod and should prove more competitive.

  57. LACKER D’ERI – Pleasantly surprising 4th of 16 in a 3225m Vitre Class F on 12 October, however a repeat seems most improbable
  58. LUCKY JUMP – Eliminated in a Class E over course and distance on 4 October. Has looked rather ordinary since late-spring and is unlikely to shake things up
  59. LACERTOSUS – Modest individual that ran 7th of 17 in a 2825m Durtal Class F on 12 October. Starts in front but would have better prospects at a lower level
  60. LES CHARMES – Reverts to a previous formula after winning a 2800m Vire Class F 10 days ago. Hails from a yard that is currently firing on all cylinders and will be competitive at the business end of the race
  61. L’AMIRAL DU SAPTEL – Held his own when 6th of 16 in a 2700m Class E at Le Croise-Laroche late last month. Boasts solid clockwise references and from the front row can play a leading role
  62. LANCEUR D’ETOILE – 3rd of 14 in a 2725m Lisieux Class E on 13 September. Can prove a handful but is hard to fault when focused and from the front row can give this a good go. First 5
  63. LE TANGO DU RENARD – Put in a good time when 2nd of 14 in a 2450m Caen Class E on 20 August. Has yet to deliver at Cabourg but disposes on an excellent opportunity this time
  64. LET’S GO HAUFOR – Imposed at Les Sables-d’Olonne before losing his action in a 3000m Nantes Class E on 26 September. Enjoys an excellent entry on the front line but would be preferred racing left-handed
  65. LUTIN DU PRATEL – Imposed at Lisieux in September but failed to confirm when 9th of 16 in a 2850m Laval Class E earlier this month. Is forced to start on 2nd line but has merit and should not be overlooked
  66. LUPIN DU RIB – Runner-up in last 2, latterly to LET’S GO MAURICIEN (14) in a Class E over track and trip in late-July. Has not been seen since though and with shoes on will have little to offer
  67. LOQUIDY – 4th of 16, on comeback, in a 2700m Graignes Class B on 12 October. Has been re-shod for the occasion and, penalty or not, still looks competitively well in
  68. LEXINGTON DANICA – 7th of 16 in a 2200m Caen Class D, on comeback, 12 days ago. Has been reconfigured but still not easy to recommend
  69. LUGANO DU CADRAN – Won a Class E over course and distance early this month. Has been excelling at Cabourg recently and even with a 25m handicap can play a prominent part
  70. LET’S GO MAURICIEN – Should not be condemned for running 9th of 16 in a Class D under these conditions last week. Has previously won here, runs barefoot, is reunited with David Thomain, and even from the 2nd row will have his chances
  71. LUGANO – 9th of 16 behind LOQUIDY (11), on return to competition, in a 2700m Graignes Class B on 12 October. Shoes fitted and will pose no danger
  72. LIVE YOUR DREAMS – Eliminated in a 2700m Graignes Class B on 12 October. Won in the same configuration in Paris late-August, benefits from a good entry, but still cannot be considered a priority
Summary: Success favours the front line here with a barefoot LE TANGO DU RENARD (7) easy to like after putting August’s course-and-distance elimination behind him at Caen. Antonin Andre will still be mindful of L’AMIRAL DU SAPTEL (5) who boasts solid right-handed credentials, and the reconfigured LES CHARMES (4) who has won 3 of 5 starts to date. LUGANO DU CADRAN (13) may be giving away 25m but he has thrived here over recent months and must be considered a serious proposition.

  73. JEDI – Quality element but eliminated in 3 of last 4, most recently a Class E over course and distance 3 weeks ago, and will not be influencing the result
  74. JIL – Complicated mare making first appearance since being eliminated at Laval last June and has no realistic chance
  75. JEZABEL MAHCATH – Showed improvement when 3rd of 14 in a 2700m Graignes Class F earlier this month. Unlikely to repeat but should nevertheless acquit herself honourably
  76. JAGUAR DE KARA – 6th of 12 in a 3125m Angers Class F on 1 October. Hind shoes off this time and looks eminently capable of contesting the finish. Chance
  77. JACK SURPRISE – Would have finished closer than 5th of 14 in a 2700m Graignes Class F on 12 October had he got off on the right foot and Mathis Champenois will be eager to set the record straight
  78. JIHERE DU PORET – Last but one in a 2700m Vincennes Class C on 14 October. Clearly capable and won here during the summer, but has been out of sorts this autumn and must get his house in order
  79. JACKSON DU CLOS – 5th of 18 to IDEAL MADRIK (9) in a 3100m Savenay Class H late last month. Goes particularly well for Guillaume Martin who can be confident of picking up a cheque
  80. JIROBELLO – 3rd of 18 in a 2650m Alencon Class E on 5 October. Appears to be close to his best and must be taken seriously
  81. IDEAL MADRIK – Imposed at Savenay before coming 9th of 14 when prepping for this in a 2725m harness Class D here last week. Sports pads this time and cannot be regarded a priority
  82. JOIE DES VENTES – 2nd of 18 in a 2650m Alencon Class E 2.5 weeks ago. François Lagadeuc in the irons and has every chance of getting her nose in front this time
  83. JOJO DE L’AUNAY – 7th of 9 in a 2700m Vincennes Class C last week. Has been struggling of late and racing with shoes fitted will do nothing to help his chances
  84. JADE DU PARC – Eliminated early in a 3125m Angers Class F 3 weeks ago. Has otherwise been in cracking form and can make a big splash if Clement Frecelle keeps her focused
Summary: Like a horse reborn this season, JOIE DES VENTES (10) returns to a track she adores and is preferred to the tricky but capable, and freshly re-shod, JAGUAR DE KARA (4) who tends to go well for Paul Ploquin. Clearly in form but capricious of late, JADE DU PARC (12) is nicely-engaged here, has been reconfigured, and with application can go far. Entrusted to Benjamin Rochard for the occasion, JIROBELLO (8) should again figure prominently.

  85. MYSTERE DES ARRIS – Won first time out then lost his action in a 2850m Laval Class E on 4 October. Is not out of the picture but takes on a good lot here and is not about to rock the boat
  86. MAGNUM DU CHATELET – Useful type starting for the first time since running 2nd of 12 in a 2750m Class F at La Ferte-Vidame 2 months ago. Makes first public appearance on a hard surface and others preferred on this occasion
  87. MAESTRO DE CORDAY – Modest sort that has not raced since coming 9th of 15 in a 2700m Class E at La Capelle on 26 August and can be confidently disregarded
  88. MY BOY NOBLESS – 6th of 13 in a 2600m Class E at Blain-Bouvron-Le Gâvre on 21 September. Useful on a good day but is new to a firm surface and can be ruled out
  89. MILORD DU CHATAULT – Makes first appearance since coming 6th of 12 in a 2050m Class E here on 2 July. Locqueneux yard in rude health and looks good enough to open his account
  90. MARGOTIN – Unexceptional 8th of 13 in a 2275m Nantes Class E on 6 October and can expect to have few takers
  91. MAESTRO D’IDEF – Respectable 6th of 13 in a 2275m Nantes Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Always gives his best but represents no more than a minor place chance
  92. MAXIMUS VILLAM – 8th of 16 in a 2700m Class E at La Capelle a month ago. Has never failed to fire going clockwise and must be considered a serious candidate for a place on the podium
  93. MAGIC DE BELAISE – Promising sort that won, on comeback, a 2725m Evreux Class F on 28 September. Will have progressed for the race and is not incapable of doubling his money
  94. MUST GO FAST – 3rd of 14, a place behind MILTON DU CHATELET (14), in a 2900m Challans Class E on 12 October. Is never far from faulting but with application can play an active role
  95. MONACO DU LIVET – Honourable 6th of 14 in a 2725m Class E here 3 weeks ago. Is unlikely to spring any surprises but can still pick up a first-5 cheque
  96. MILLION DREAMS – 6th of 13 in a 2450m Caen Class E on 20 September. Clearly prefers racing clockwise but still faces a stiff test this time around
  97. MATRIX DE LA BAIE – Disqualified for interference in a 2725m Class E here on 2 October. Clearly has merit but may be taking on too much this time
  98. MILTON DU CHATELET – Imposed at Le Mont-Saint-Michel a month back before running 2nd of 14 in a 2900m Challans Class E 3 weeks later. Benefits from a terrific entry and will not be going home empty-handed
Summary: Sent for a rest after failing to deliver here in July, MILORD DU CHATAULT (5) returns fresh, with Paul Ploquin reining for the first time, and given the stable’s form, can impose. The main danger though will come from MAGIC DE BELAISE (9) who lost his own maiden tag late last month, and MAXIMUS VILLAM (8) who returns to racing clockwise. MILTON DU CHATELET (14) could not have been better-engaged and Alexis Popot will be eager to take advantage.

  99. KANANN – Lost his action in a 2725m Graignes Class F on 25 September. Has twice failed to deliver under the saddle here and is unlikely to generate much interest
  100. KING OF THE WORLD – 2nd of 18 in a 2825m Durtal Class F on 12 October. Is very much at home here and will not be short of support. Place prospect
  101. KYMI JACK – Failed to confirm Cholet performance when eliminated in a Class F under these conditions earlier in the month. Is patently better than that though and must be taken seriously
  102. KING PRESTIGE – Serious trotter but has not been seen out since being eliminated in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class E in June and can be passed over
  103. KING BABEL – Handy element making first appearance since coming 5th of 13 in a 2725m Graignes Class F on 30 August. Shoes on this time and best to wait
  104. KERLAZ D’AVE – In the frame in last 2, latterly 3rd of 16 in a 2450m Caen Class E on 11 October. Disappointing in last few starts here but on good behaviour can get in on the action
  105. KRONOS D’ERPION – 8th of 16 in a 2050m Laval Class E a month ago. Has failed to finish in first 3 in past 12 months and is unlikely to buck the trend
  106. KIMONO JULRY – Missed out by the smallest of margins in a 2450m Caen Class E on 11 October, after having lost his action early, and looks thoroughly capable of imposing this time
  107. KALAO TOURNIBOIS – Returns to France after winning over 2840m in Mons on 20 September. Is plainly in form but in this category will struggle to make his mark
  108. KEOPS LUDOIS – 6th of 12 in a 2900m Chateauroux monte Class F late last month and will have other ambitions
  109. KATHEO WINDER – 6th of 15 in a 2700m Vincennes Class E on 7 October. Has solid right-handed credentials and even though unconfirmed here, still looks a contender
  110. KALYPSO DE THIERRE – Imposed at Landivisiau before being eliminated in a 2050m Laval Class E on 25 September. Has previously won here but takes on too much this time
  111. KEL DIABLO ERGEE – Returns to the provinces after enduring a bad trip, coming 8th of 9 in a 2850m Vincennes Class E on 21 September. Has a lot going for him here and with David Thomain in the bike will be no easy touch
  112. KENDALL – Starts for the first time since running 2nd of 11 in a 2850m Laval Class E on 12 June. Shoes fitted and not a concern
  113. KIRWAN THORIS – Out of the picture in last 2, most recently 10th of 16 in a 2050m Laval Class E on 25 September, and will pose no danger
  114. KINGSTON DU DOME – Imposed at Bernay before coming 9th of 16 in a 2700m Class E at Le Croise-Laroche 3 weeks ago. Won here during the summer and considering the entry cannot be ruled out
Summary: KIMONO JULRY (8) could well have imposed at Caen earlier in the month had he got off on the right foot, and Yoann Lebourgeois will be determined to set the record straight. He will still be keeping a keen eye on KATHEO WINDER (11) who raced better at Vincennes last time than the result would suggest, and KEL DIABLO ERGEE (13) who enjoys a good entry. KING OF THE WORLD (2) has done nothing but improve lately and what he lacks in experience, he makes up for in grit.
