  4. KATE TO WIN – Three unplaced runs of late, 6th at Les Sables on the most recent on October 11th over 2700m in a conditions race. She has to bounce back to form to be involved
  5. KIKEA DU MOU – Finished 3rd over 3900m at Nantes in a Class 4 hurdle on her last start. 9th on her latest run on the flat in February over 3000m. Others seem better equipped
  6. LETS DANSE DOUDOU – Two wins and a 2nd recently, the latest when a runner-up in a conditions race at Haras Du Pin on October 12th over 3100m. She might find this difficult

  8. KAHULA – Credible effort to be 3rd behind LOUISA BANBOU (1) in a Group 1 APQS race on September 4th last time out. One to keep onside
  9. LA VIVA – Good win over 2400m at Craon in a conditions race on September 7th on her latest start. She is lightly raced and is open to progress
    Summary: LOUISA BANBOU (1) won well by three lengths at Parislongchamp in a Group 1 AQPS in early September on her latest start and is capable of following up. KAHULA (8) can keep the main selection honest and looks like the main danger. She was third in the same race at Parislongchamp. LILI STAR (2) split the pair in second and can give another good account of herself. LA VIVA (9) won at Craon in September and is open to improvement.

  15. ULURU – Two unplaced efforts of late, the latter when 7th over 2400m in a Group 3 race at Cork (IRL) on August 14th. She won a Listed race in June over 2400m and has to be respected with Christophe Soumillon booked to ride
  16. CALAMANDRA – Placed on all four runs, a win on debut over 2400m in May, and three placed runs in Listed races, the latter over 2800m on September 4th at Parislongchamp. Place chance
  17. KIAMBA – Fair effort to be 4th on her last run over 2800m in the Prix De Royallieu (Gr.1) at Parislongchamp on October 4th. Leading contender
    Summary: KIAMBA (8) ran a good race when fourth in the Prix De Royallieu (Gr.1) at Parislongchamp on October 4th on her last start, and if emulating that performance, she can get back in the winners enclosure. LA ISLA MUJERES (3) scored at Galway in Ireland in a Listed race in early September and looks like the main danger. ALLONSY (4) has had a break since winning a Listed race at Chester in August, but she will be ready and acts well on soft ground. ULURU (6) makes up the shortlist.

  20. ANTHORUS – Credible 4th on the one run this year at this track over 1600m in a Class 2 race on September 26th. Others rate higher
  21. TUMBLER – Placed 4th over 1600m in a Group 3 race at Deauville on August 30th last time out. Course winner over 1400m in a Class 2 handicap in March. Ought to be thereabouts
  22. CHIBITTY – Two good runs of late, a win over 1600m in a Class 2 race on September 3rd on his penultimate, and a 2nd at Chantilly in a Listed race on October 11th over 1800m when beaten narrowly. Tough assignment ahead of him
  23. SPARKS FLY – Unplaced last time, 3rd previously over 1700m at Epsom (UK) in a Group 3 race on June 7th. Travels from the UK and needs a personal best to win
  24. ELIM – She won her only start this year over 1400m in a Listed race at Redcar (UK) on October 4th. Trained in the UK, and this might be a step too far
  25. EXXTRA – 6th on her last run over 1400m in the Prix La Foret (Gr.1) at Parislongchamp on October 5th. Capable performer in much calmer waters and can be involved
  26. DARIUS CEN – 9th on his last run in the Prix Daniel Wildenstein (Gr.2) at Parislongchamp on October 4th, 2nd previously over 1600m in a Class 2 race on September 5th at Chantilly. Opposable
    Summary: VERTBOIS (2) ran a good race when third in a competitive Group 3 race at Deauville late in August when last seen. He is a Listed winner over 1600m at this track and gets a marginal vote over the improving SAIDI EL FAL (1), who has won his last three starts, the latter over 1650m at Craon in a Listed race late in September. TUMBLER (4) is a previous course winner and can not be overlooked each-way. EXXTRA (8) is another worth considering down in class from a Group 1 race 21 days ago.

  30. NEW ZEALAND – Decent 4th over 1600m in a Group 3 race at Newmarket (UK) on October 11th, which came after a win at the Curragh (IRL) in July over 1400m. He has a good bit more to come
  31. HARDY WARRIOR – Ran well to be 2nd over 1600m in the KPMG Champions Juvenile Golden Fleece Stakes (Gr.2) last time out on September 13th. He won over 1600m before that in a maiden in July. Outside place chance
  32. PUERTO RICO – Top Class form, with a Group 2 win in September at Doncaster (UK) of the Champagne Stakes and then an easy win of the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere (Gr.1) at Parislongchamp on October 5th by 2.5L. Both wins were over 1400m. He sets the standard
  33. CAPE ORATOR – Nice win over 1600m at Parislongchamp in a Class 2 race on October 4th last time out and a decent 3rd in the Champagne Stakes (Gr.2)over 1400m at Doncaster in September behind PUERTO RICO (6) previously. Key chance
  34. PORT OF SPAIN – Finished 3rd over 1800m in a Group 3 race at Leopardstown (IRL) on October 18th last time out. He won over 1600m in September in a maiden race. He might need a few to falter
    Summary: PUERTO RICO (6) won well in the Champagne Stakes (Gr.2) over 1400m at Doncaster in September and followed up with a smooth win at Parislongchamp in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere (Gr.1) over 1400m on October 5th. He gets the vote over CAPE ORATOR (7), who won a Class 2 race at Parislongchamp 22 days ago, and was third behind PUERTO RICO (6) in the Champagne Stakes. CAMPACITE (3) was fourth in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere (Gr.1) and warrants respect. NEW ZEALAND (4) is also worth considering.

She was third in the Prix Jean Romanet (Gr.1) in August and followed that with a credible fifth in the Prix De L’Opera Longines (Gr.1) at Parislongchamp over 2000m on October 5th. She can score down in class. ASHARIBA (2) has won her last two runs, the latest over 2000m at this track in a Listed race 23 days ago. She can play a lead role. SKELLET (1) and ZIA AGNESE (9) can duel for minor honours.

  50. SHOSHOLOZA – The son of Australia won on debut over 1800m at Tipperary in Ireland on 5 October. He could be anything and would not be a shock winner
  51. CZAJKOWSKI – Finished behind WAYBREAKER (7) when second in a Group 3 over 2000m on this course on 3 October. Cristian Demuro is booked to ride, but more is needed to win this

  78. DOUBLE MAJOR – Won a Group 3 over 3100m at Parislongchamp on 11 September. He has won the last two editions of this race and will be looking to defend his title
  79. ESPOIR AVENIR – Comes off a fourth-place finish in a Group 2 over 3000m at Parislongchamp on 4 October. First run in Group 1 Company and he faces a difficult test in this small field
    Summary: ARROW EAGLE (4) finished strongly in the Group 1 Qatar Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe and should appreciate the step up in distance. He may be the one to beat. DOUBLE MAJOR (6) has won this race two years in a row and comes into this year’s edition in top form. He will be looking to defend his title. CABALLO DE MAR (5) is in top form and has no stamina issues. Tom Marquand retains the ride, and he would not be a shock winner. SUNWAY (1) has been specifically prepared for this race and cannot be discounted.

LINO DE FONTAINE (8) has been a model of consistency and sports a new configuration for his return to a hard surface.   96. MENTION GRAVE – Back under the saddle after running 7th of 12 in a 2550m Bordeaux harness Class C 2 weeks ago. Trounced the opposition on monte debut and must be taken seriously
  97. MATTINA DE BARB – 3rd of 6 finishers in a 2700m Vincennes Class D mid-September. Flew up on monte bow though and has a bright future. Chance
  98. MONA GALAA – Returns to code of preference after finishing last of 11 in a 2150m Enghien harness claimer last weekend and is not about to influence the outcome
  99. MILLESIMA – Has not been seen out since comfortably winning a 2450m Caen Class D on 31 May. Will have been prepared for this and is expected to return home undefeated
  100. MAGGIOTTA – 2nd of 15 in a 2200m Vichy Class D on 20 September. Unlikely to get off the mark here but can still get in on the action. First 5
  101. MONALYSA DU ROEN – Got off the mark at Laval early last month before coming flattering 3rd of 6 finishers in a 2700m Vincennes Class D 11 days later, and cannot be considered a player
    Summary: Twice a winner during the spring before being put away, MILLESIMA (10) returns to the track, going left-handed for the first time, and can wrap this up if she turns. Mathieu Mottier will still want to be wary of MATTINA DE BARB (8) who is better than her last performance would suggest. A winner during the summer on her only start under the saddle, MENTION GRAVE (7) debuts at a venue she should appreciate and has the wherewithal to trot her way onto the podium. MAGIE DE GUIBRAY (6) is still chasing that elusive first win but has been knocking at the door and merits respect.
