French Selections Wednesday 18th

R1 VINCENNES [L-H]

C1 – PRIX DE LA TREMBLADE – 2850m (a2m) – Class C – Harness – EUR € 68,000

  1. HERMES EXPRESS – Capable on a good day but has just the one race in him since the autumn break and can be ruled out
  2. HAUTBRION COLMI – Undeniably capable but out of the picture in last 2 and even with Matthieu Abrivard reining will have few friends
  3. HAPPY DANOVER – Won over track and trip early last month but has failed to confirm on 3 occasions and will have nothing to offer
  4. IPALIO – Ran 2nd in a valuable race at Mons on 25 October, but was unconvincing at Le Croise-Laroche on 24 November, and can be passed over
  5. ILEO PIERJI – Gave IRON DU GERS (9) a run for his money in a Class C over 2700m here on 24 November. Is plainly at the top of his game and once again looks the main danger
  6. HOLD UP DES VENTES – Won a race at this level during the summer only to lose it later on. Boasts solid harness references and Martial Gilard will be hoping to make good on his charge’s form
  7. FAVICI PASMARICK – Failed to confirm Strasbourg performance when 6th behind FEU DE REVOLTE (12) at Le Croise-Laroche late last month. Faces an even better lot this time but can still hold his own
  8. HALMA D’AMER – Has less room for manoeuvre these days after a productive 2024 season. Pleased over course and distance though last month and has a reasonable chance of making first 5 this time
  9. IRON DU GERS – Made it 3 in a row when unopposed in a 2100m Class D here on 6 December. Has twice won over course and distance, Jean-Michel Bazire reins this time, and is going to take all the beating
  10. HAIDA SAUTONNE – Serious mare presenting excellent references under these conditions, but has not been seen out since June and will need the race
  11. HISTOIRE PHILS – 4th to IMPULSE JULRY (15) at Lyon-Parilly a month ago but was eliminated under the saddle here 11 days ago, and cannot be regarded a priority
  12. FEU DE REVOLTE – Not the most reliable but gave a fine account at Le Croise-Laroche on 24 November. Has already won twice with Franck Nivard and will legitimately generate interest
  13. HECTOR DE BASSIERE – Won 3 in a row in the provinces before blowing up in a 2100m Class C here 3 weeks ago. Is nicely-engaged, has placed on both runs with his driver, and must be taken seriously
  14. HORS BORD – In the frame in 5 of last 7 starts. Has placed just once in 4 starts here, but finished a place behind FEU DE REVOLTE (12) at Le Croise-Laroche, and in present form is easy to recommend for a minor place cheque
  15. IMPULSE JULRY – Sprang a small surprise when successful in a 2850m Class D at Lyon-Parilly in mid-November, however chances seems particularly slim this time around
  16. HONEY KING – Encouraging 5th of 14 behind FEU DE REVOLTE (12) in a 2700m Class C at Le Croise-Laroche on 24 November. Benefits from a terrific entry, however a repeat seems unlikely
Summary: Very hard to fault when focused and barefoot, IRON DU GERS (9) steps back up in category after pulling off the hat-trick here earlier in the month, and looks primed to make it 4 on the trot. JMB will still want to keep a keen eye on a freshly-unshod ILEO PIERJI (5) who ran him close here 12 days earlier. Back under harness following a fruitful stint in the other code, HOLD UP DES VENTES (6) is unlikely to be far from the action, and neither is FEU DE REVOLTE (12) who beat a number of these at Le Croise-Laroche recently. HECTOR DE BASSIERE (13) should not be too quickly-judged for failing to deliver last time out; his form is sure and Francois Lagadeuc will be keen to prove the point.
    SELECTIONS
IRON DU GERS (9) – ILEO PIERJI (5) – HOLD UP DES VENTES (6) – FEU DE REVOLTE (12)
    C2 – PRIX DES IRIS – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class C – Harness – EUR € 38,000
  17. NOTABLE – Is reunited with Eric Raffin after winning a pair going right-handed. Is plainly a decent future prospect and will be expected to complete the hat-trick
  18. NEWTON DE CORS – Should not be too hastily-condemned for finishing 9th of 11 in a 2850m Class C over the inner course last week. Is confirmed over 2200m here and can make amends
  19. NELATI DE MORGANE – Produced career-best performance when 3rd, a place behind NEWTON DE CORS (2), in a Class C over 2200m here in late-October. Appears to be on the way up and is unlikely to be far from the action
  20. NON STOP MESLOIS – Respectable 5th over 2200m here in early-November before flopping behind NAPOLEON AS (10) here a fortnight later. Is unlikely to cause an upset but is still capable of getting a look in
  21. NADIR – Ran 2nd at Reims on debut before comfortably winning a 2400m Amiens Class D last week. Goes left-handed for the first time but still looks competitively well in
  22. NIKY ELDE – Pleased in first 2 before disappointing at Enghien in early-October. May be a little race-rusty but is still worth keeping an eye on
  23. NELOMBO BELLO – Useful sort whose recent results belie his ability. By no means disgraced over the main track a fortnight ago and the drop in trip may be just the ticket
  24. NINJA DE L’ENVOL – Steps back up in category after winning a claimer over course and distance 2 weeks ago. Takes on a better lot this time though and the draw will do him no favours
  25. NATIF DES CAILLONS – Takes a big leap in category after winning a Class E at Grenade-sur-Garonne 10 days ago and is not about to set off any fireworks
  26. NAPOLEON AS – Hardy element that endured some traffic problems here a month back. Was clearly in form that day, has had ample time to recover, and despite the draw will be expected to figure prominently
  27. NEW YORK D’OYSE – Quickly eliminated in a 2700m Class D here earlier in the month, and appears to be out of his league once again
  28. NEMO D’ARNHEM – Takes to Vincennes for the first time after being eliminated in both starts to date and can be confidently ruled out
  29. NUMBER ONE CHOC – Lost her action early in a 2175m Class D here 3 weeks ago. Has yet to show any particular aptitude for the game and others easier to back
Summary: Sanctioned at Reims first time out, NOTABLE (1) nevertheless went on to win his next two with room to spare, and with Eric Raffin in the bike this time, can continue the winning spree. Leading the opposition, NELOMBO BELLO (7) is better than recent results would suggest, and NAPOLEON AS (10) has bags of untapped potential. NEWTON DE CORS (2) ran 2nd over course and distance first time out and returns to these conditions after disappointing over 2850m.
    SELECTIONS
    NOTABLE (1) – NELOMBO BELLO (7) – NAPOLEON AS (10) – NEWTON DE CORS (2)
    C3 – PRIX D’ISSOUDUN – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class D – Mounted – EUR € 40,000
  30. MINILADY DE CHOC – Showed considerable tenacity to run 3rd in a Class C under these conditions 3 weeks ago. Improves for every run and should again figure prominently
  31. MONALYSA DU ROEN – On a fine run of form during the autumn but well-beaten in last 2 and others preferred
  32. MOLLY MADRIK – Blows hot and cold, most recently eliminated early in a 2175m Class D here 2 weeks ago, and others easier to trust
  33. MALLAURY D’AVEL – Imposed over the inner course on 13 November but disappointing 5th behind MINILADY DE CHOC (1) in a Class C under these conditions 3 weeks ago. Is patently better than the result would suggest and should logically finish closer this time
  34. MARVINA BELLA – Debuts in the discipline after 6.5 months off. Has evident talent and if fully-fit can make a big splash
  35. MAMZELL L’AVENTURE – Ran close 2nd to MILLESIMA (10) on 17 November before finishing courageous 4th behind MINILADY DE CHOC (1) in a Class C under these conditions 9 days later, and is unlikely to be far off the mark
  36. MORANE D’AVEL – Returns to competition after 3 months off, winning twice over the main track with ease. Has significantly more to offer and can make it 3 on the trot
  37. MAYA DES GENETS – Capable filly that has references over 2700m here but has not been seen out since July and is unlikely to shake things up
  38. MY BLACK CADENCE – Modest sort that made no impact in a Class B over course and distance on 10 November, and is not about to spring any surprises
  39. MILLESIMA – Made up for comeback elimination when securing victory in a 2175m Class D here on 17 November. Boasts a 75 percent win-rate and has every chance of taking it to 80
Summary: MORANE D’AVEL (7) took some time to come to hand but has blossomed into a fine campaigner this term. Unbeaten in 2 starts at the venue, the 3-timer is still very much in play. MILLESIMA (10), however, has won 3 of 4, opened her Vincennes account a month back, and will be no easy touch. Sent for a break in May after failing to secure the hat-trick, MARVINA BELLA (5) is reunited with Eric Raffin who won with her under harness last April, and if as good under the saddle, will have her chances. MINILADY DE CHOC (1) is clearly improving and her recent performance bodes well for her chances of picking up some place prizemoney.
    SELECTIONS
    MORANE D’AVEL (7) – MILLESIMA (10) – MARVINA BELLA (5) – MINILADY DE CHOC (1)
    C4 – PRIX DE PONS – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 35,000
  40. LORD DE VANDEL – Useful sort in the provinces but disappointed at Nantes early this month, and would be preferred barefoot
  41. L’ESPOIR BELRI – Progressive individual that comfortably secured a 2850m Mauquenchy Class E on 2 December, but pitted against better this time and not an obvious choice
  42. LISCADO DE HOUELLE – Quality colt facing first challenge of the meeting. Will be fit by now, races barefoot as he did when victorious here last winter, and is unlikely to disappoint
  43. LE LAUREAT DU PARC – Complicated but talented element that was eliminated through no fault of his own here 2.5 weeks ago. Is a tough nut when focused and with application should finish close
  44. LEADER OAKS – Put 5 consecutive eliminations behind him to come 2nd in a Saint-Galmier Class E last month, but would have better prospects racing clockwise
  45. LATHOS DE VIVOIN – Unexceptional sort with a pair of runs under his belt since the autumn break. Is reunited with Eric Raffin but others still preferred
  46. LUTHIER DE PAIL – Remarkably performant when barefoot, and consistently in the thick of things with his driver. Shook the cobwebs off here earlier in the month and will not be going home empty-handed
  47. LOUISDOR DECHAMBOU – 5th, a place behind LATINO PURA VIDA (10), in a Class E under these conditions 2.5 weeks ago, and will have nothing to contribute
  48. LUX DE LA MESLIERE – Defied his odds to run 4th of 11 in a 2100m Class E here on 20 November. Reliability not his strong suit but with Matthieu Abrivard reining will be afforded every chance. First 5
  49. LATINO PURA VIDA – Flattering 4th in a Class E under these conditions 2.5 weeks ago, and is not about to influence the result
  50. LAWMAN – Has done nothing but improve lately, most recently dominating a 2850m Laval Class E. Theo Briand in the bike once more and although unlikely to repeat, should nevertheless acquit himself honourably
  51. LORENZO GEDE – Not as sharp as he was here during the summer, most recently 7th behind LUX DE LA MESLIERE (9) here on 20 November. Alexandre Abrivard in the bike this time and should not be overlooked
  52. LOUSTIC DU VIVIER – Serious sort making his first appearance since March and will have other ambitions
  53. L’AMOUR D’ETANG – Has turned a corner over recent weeks, winning 2 on the trot, latterly with authority here, and in similar form can make this his own
  54. LOVI CADENCE – Modest sort with a great entry but has had nothing to say for himself for some time and can be ignored
  55. LAVALO BELLO – Opened his Vincennes account early this month, at first time of asking. Won a Class E under these conditions with ease and is not incapable of repeating
Summary: Victorious at Laval in early-November on his return to competition, L’AMOUR D’ETANG (14) went on to confirm here 3 weeks later, and the nature of that run bodes well for his chances. Just 25 Euros from elimination, and also recently a winner over course-and-distance, LAVALO BELLO (16) will have his chances. LISCADO DE HOUELLE (3) has a pair of races under his belt following a lengthy break, is barefoot for his first objective of the winter, and is reunited with Mathieu Mottier who won with him here in February. LE LAUREAT DU PARC (4) was unlucky here late last month and can make amends if kept out of harm’s way.
    SELECTIONS
    L’AMOUR D’ETANG (14) – LAVALO BELLO (16) – LISCADO DE HOUELLE (3) – LE LAUREAT DU PARC (4)
    C5 – PRIX PIERRE GIFFARD – 2850m (a2m) – Class B – Mounted – EUR € 75,000
  56. FIRST ONE DIAMOND – Excellent at home in Scandinavia but faces a totally new challenge here and is not about to set Vincennes alight
  57. GOUTIER CELESTE – Quality trotter that ran good 3rd in a Nantes Class D early last month, on first start for over 10 months. Will have come on for the run and is not to be underestimated
  58. ISLAMORADA – Made it 3 straight monte victories when dominating a Class B under these conditions on 20 November and, with application, can add another to her tally
  59. HARDI CROWN – Takes a leap in category after finishing a one-paced 5th in a 2175m Class C here 11 days ago, and is not about to influence the outcome
  60. IMAGINE D’ATOUT – Enjoyed a productive summer but has since lost her way and will first need to reaffirm
  61. GADGET DU GADE – Imposed over course and distance last winter but has been disappointing since and can expect to have few takers
  62. HOLLYWOOD DU BOIS – Good campaigner in this branch of the game but latest effort in the race of reference did nothing to inspire confidence
  63. GREZ – Has bags of ability but has been off the boil for past 2 months and needs to get his house in order
  64. HEROS DES MOTTES – Returns to a code he appreciates after a pair of harness conditioners. Goes barefoot this time but still not a concern
  65. HANNAH – Close 3rd in 4 December race of reference, at 20-1. Eric Raffin stays faithful but still no more than a minor place chance
  66. FICIMER – Quality element under the saddle and presently at the top of his game. Set his personal best chrono here earlier in the month and will again be competitive for a place on the podium
  67. ILTON ROYAL – Finished 4th to FICIMER (11) in a 2700m Class B here on 4 December. In this company though, a repeat seems improbable
  68. HEURISTIQUE – Classy mare but was never at her ease in a 2700m Class B here earlier in the month. Has talent to burn and Paul Ploquin will be eager to set the record straight. Chance
  69. FARANDOLE DI PALBA – Not the most reliable of horses but did win at this level during the autumn. Finished well to come 6th in race of reference and cannot be ruled out
  70. HEDEN CRUZ – Put in a fine effort to run 2nd to FICIMER (11) in a 2700m Class B here on 4 December. Is clearly nearing his best and can again challenge for a place in the frame
  71. FONZY D’HERIPRE – Won an Enghien harness claimer in mid-October before running 5th in a harness Class D over course and distance early last month. Makes just 2nd monte appearance but enjoys a terrific entry and can play a small role
Summary: A superb campaigner in this branch of the business, ISLAMORADA (3) comfortably won over course and distance last month and is thoroughly capable of repeating. HEURISTIQUE (13) boasts arguably better monte credentials but, in current form, may have to play second fiddle this time. Not once out of the first 3 when barefoot, FICIMER (11) beat a host of the day’s runners here a fortnight ago and will not be sent out at 20-1 this time. HEDEN CRUZ (15) finished a place behind that day and will be expected to play another active role.

    C6 – PRIX DE FLORAC – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class C – Harness – EUR € 46,000
  72. MACAREUX DU TRIEUX – Looked rather ordinary when 7th of 13 in a Class D over course and distance last Friday and will need to find more
  73. MEYOU DU CAMPUS – Capable colt that ran 3rd of 14 to MON PLAISIR (6) in a 2200m Class D here 2 weeks ago. Has ground to make up but is unlikely to be too far off the mark
  74. MUST DE CAHOT – Produced a fine effort to win a Class E over 2175m here late last month. Will have no issue with the longer trip and cannot be entirely ruled out
  75. MILLIUM QUESNOT – Encouraged at Le Croise-Laroche last month but was unable to confirm when last of 9 behind MERMOZ (11) in a 2100m Class D here on 6 December, and will need to show another side
  76. MAGIC INSTINCT – Ran good 5th behind MERMOZ (11), in a blanket finish, in a 2100m Class D here on 6 December, and should again prove competitive for a place in the frame
  77. MON PLAISIR – Like a horse transformed this term, winning 3 of last 4, most recently over the inner course. Keeps on progressing and winning this would be no great surprise
  78. MALUMA D’ANGIS – Makes first main-track appearance after 2 solid performances on the inner course, latterly imposing with authority. Goes well for Eric Raffin and is not about to let the side down
  79. MAMBO PLANCHETTE – Won first time here before coming 2nd to a very good horse over the short course on 24 November. Is unlikely to get his nose in front but can nonetheless finish thereabouts
  80. MISTER YELLOW – Fine colt that defied his 59-1 to come 3rd in a Class D over course and distance on 13 November, his first start for 3 months, and looks good enough to win a race of this nature
  81. MELKIOR CASTELLE – Is not short of ability but is as tricky as they come. Eliminated in all 4 Vincennes starts though and can be passed over
  82. MERMOZ – Left a good impression on Vincennes debut on 6 December when 3rd in a 2100m Class D. Was not the luckiest that day and if kept out of trouble will be expected to bring the fight to MISTER YELLOW (9)
Summary: Justifiably well-regarded at home, MISTER YELLOW (9) gave a fine account on his re-entry here last month, will have come on for the race, and can finally break his Vincennes duck. Alexandre Abrivard can still expect resistance from the well-engaged MERMOZ (11) who has been knocking at the door, and the in-form MON PLAISIR (6) who has taken well to Vincennes conditions. MAGIC INSTINCT (5) should be fully-fit by now and is in with a realistic chance of making the frame.
    SELECTIONS
    MISTER YELLOW (9) – MERMOZ (11) – MON PLAISIR (6) – MAGIC INSTINCT (5)
    C7 – PRIX DE BEAUPREAU – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 35,000
  83. LUNE DE L’EMION – 3rd under these conditions 3 weeks ago before running solid 4th in a 2850m Class E last week. Takes a notable step up in category and is unlikely to influence the outcome this time
  84. LESDY MAGODA – Did not enjoy the best of trips when 2nd over track and trip 10 days ago. Mathieu Mottier renews his faith though and will be no pushover if he keeps her out of trouble
  85. LADIVA DE VILLABON – Returns to the harness code after placing twice under the saddle here over recent weeks, but will have her work cut out
  86. L’ETOILE DE ROCHE – Has done nothing but improve recently, latterly 2nd in a Nantes Class E early this month. Ran 3rd under these conditions when similarly-shod but is still not a contender
  87. LADY MAJOR – Encouraged at Graignes before finishing last of 7 over track and trip early this month, and others easier to back
  88. LAURA SISSI – Ran 2nd at Laval before coming 4th, a place behind L’ILE D’HAUFOR (12), in a 2850m Class E here on 16 November. Is not about to win this but can nonetheless play an active role
  89. LETTY DE BEYLEV – Delicate filly making first appearance since June. Is barefoot for the occasion but can be confidently disregarded
  90. LOULIANA DE VANDEL – Showed her form when 2nd in a Graignes Class E on 20 November, but takes on a better bunch here, and has placed just once in 5 starts over the main track
  91. LORA SCOTIA – Made short work of a 2850m Class E 3 weeks ago. Is similarly-shod this time and has a decent chance of confirming
  92. LADY D’ECAJEUL – Encouraged here on 21 October before flopping in a 2100m Class E here 3.5 weeks ago. Returns to racing barefoot and should be in a position to challenge for a first-5 cheque
  93. LUCKY STAR JIEL – Failed to confirm her Amiens victory when 9th of 11 in a 2100m Class E here on 22 November, and can be passed over
  94. L’ILE D’HAUFOR – 3rd in a Class E over 2700m here a month ago, on just 2nd start back. Has previously imposed under these conditions and on good behaviour can finish close
  95. LOU D’ECROVILLE – Back under harness after running 2nd of 9 in a 2550m Reims monte Class F on 10 November, and chances appear limited
  96. LAURENE DE BAILLY – Moderate individual that has done little of note in either code for some time and with shoes on will have nothing to give
  97. LOTTA ROSIE – Has done everything right since returning from a lengthy break. Should prove sharper this time and can trot her way into the picture
  98. LUNA DE JOUDES – Got straight back in the game when flying up over the inner course on 10 November. Faces a different challenge this time but has significant ability and once again looks the pick of the field
Summary: Unbeaten in 3 barefoot starts, and most impressive on her recent comeback, LUNA DE JOUDES (16) runs over the main track for the first time, could not have asked for a better entry, and is in with a realistic shout of completing the hat-trick. She will, however, be pitted against LORA SCOTIA (9) who was an impressive winner at Mauquenchy, and the well-entered LOTTA ROSIE (15) who is clearly close to her race. L’ILE D’HAUFOR (12) is never far from faulting but she is hard to knock when focused.
    SELECTIONS
    LUNA DE JOUDES (16) – LORA SCOTIA (9) – LOTTA ROSIE (15) – L’ILE D’HAUFOR (12)
    C8 – PRIX DE NEUILLE PONT-PIERRE – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 46,000
  99. JAIFA DE L’ITON – Handy mare with a pair of fresheners under her belt. Was eliminated in a Class E here last week and others easier to back
  100. JUMBY BAY – Fast-finishing 2nd of 13 in a 2100m Class D here on 1 December. Mathieu Mottier stays faithful and will be minded to keep her out of trouble. Claim
  101. JAVOTTE MADRIK – Returns to the capital after winning 3 straight in the provinces, all going clockwise. Is confirmed under these conditions however and while not a priority must still be respected
  102. JOUEUSE DU MIREL – Unremarkable mare that has made no impact in last 4 starts and must first re-establish her credentials
  103. JINA FOUTEAU – In the frame in 5 of last 6 barefoot runs. Disappointing in 1 December race of reference though and will need to raise her game
  104. JEREMICE MERITE – Has hardly put a foot out of line this term, latterly 4th in a Reims Class E. Presents decent Vincennes references and will be in the running for a first-5 payout
  105. JISMIE GRIFF – Useful element that ran better in the race of reference than her 5th behind JUMBY BAY (2) would suggest. Is plainly on the way up, has previously imposed over 2700m here, and could well make the frame this time
  106. JANDICE STAR – Ran 2nd at Lyon-Parilly in mid-November prior to coming 4th behind JUMBY BAY (2) in a 2100m Class D here on 1 December. Has a lot of ground to make up though
  107. JIMBA BERRY – Won a 2100m Class E for apprentices here late last month. Benjamin Rochard in the bike this time and is unlikely to disappoint
  108. JOYCE DES GRANGES – Put a pair of eliminations behind her to come 3rd of 13, a place behind JUMBY BAY (2), in a 2100m Class D here on 1 December, and with application can pick up another cheque
  109. JOYEUSE ENTREE – Useful mare with solid monte references. Here for reasons of conditioning and can be ruled out
  110. JEUNESSE ETERNELLE – Won a brace during the spring but has looked decidedly ordinary since returning to competition and can be passed over
  111. JAMAICA PHEDO – Reliability not her strong suit but is useful in both codes. Thrives with Eric Raffin and has been reconfigured for the occasion. Chance
  112. JOLIE INDIENNE – Drops back down the category-ladder after disappointing in better company here on 24 November. Is nicely-engaged, has won over track and trip, and at this level will not be far off the mark
  113. JADE DE NAVARY – Capable on a good day but will need to improve on recent 5th in a Class E here 10 days ago
  114. JUNON DE LOU – Not as sharp as she was during the autumn. Was well-beaten here 10 days ago and will need to find considerably more
Summary: A fine mare with solid Vincennes credentials, JUMBY BAY (2) put in quite the showing here early this month and a similar performance would see her win this. JAMAICA PHEDO (13) has 3 runs under her belt since the layoff, will be partnered by the champion driver, and can contest the finish. JISMIE GRIFF (7) ran 5th in the 1 December race of reference, on just her 2nd start for the Grimault yard, and Paul Ploquin will be quietly confident of a big run. JIMBA BERRY (9) was a convincing winner here 3 weeks ago and although unlikely to repeat, can still finish in the mix.

C1 – PRIX ANDRE ADELE – 3800m (a2m1/2) – TURF – Class 1 – Steeple Chase – EUR € 45,000

  1. PAINT FOR FUN – Has done little wrong so far and was runner-up in a Conditions chase over this track and trip on 1 December. Big chance
  2. NUIT DE L’HOMME – Holding form and was third in a Conditions chase over this course and distance on 1 December. Should be competitive once again
  3. GEMMA INVICTA – Not reliable but was victorious in a Conditions chase over this track and trip on 1 December. Could follow up if in the same mood
  4. BOULEVARD BOURDON – Unreliable but was third in a Listed hurdle at Auteuil over 3600m on 15 November. Should be involved with the finish again
  5. NO LIMITS STEVE – Consistent so far and finished third in a Conditions race at Fontainebleau over 3550m on 2 December. Can contest the finish again
  6. HELIOS DU LUY – Has struggled of late and was unplaced in a handicap hurdle at this track over 3400m on 11 December. Yet to win and others are preferred
  7. BISTROT PARISIEN – Finished 7th in a Listed hurdle at Auteuil over 3600m on 7 December. Needs to find a few lengths to win this race
Summary: Trainer David Cottin has a decent hand in this race. PAINT FOR FUN (1) is very consistent and was only narrowly beaten by his stable companion GEMMA INVICTA (3) last time out. The change of weights could see the positions reversed. GEMMA INVICTA (3) is not as reliable as that rival, but she did win last time out and should be very competitive once again. BOULEVARD BOURDON (4) has been placed in a Listed hurdle and could be a lively danger on his chasing debut. NUIT DE L’HOMME (2) has held his form well and can make the frame.

  8. WOODS – Has some fair form and finished 5th in a handicap hurdle at this track over 3400m on 11 December. Can contest the finish
