French Selections Thursday 22nd

R1 VINCENNES [L-H]

C1 – PRIX DE BOLLENE – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class B – Mounted – EUR € 43,000

  1. NEW LOOK BERRY – 5th of 7 to NEWTON DES ANDIERS (5) in 15 January race of reference. Has yet to show any particular flair and is unlikely to influence the outcome
  2. NICE SPEED – Switches code for first time after getting off the harness mark at Angers earlier in the month. Has always been destined for a career under the saddle and has a realistic chance of demonstrating why
  3. NAUTILIO BELLO – Eliminated as often as not in this branch of the code. Raced respectably when 3rd to NEWTON DES ANDIERS (5) last week, and returns to racing shod, but is not a first-3 priority
  4. NICKEL DE BAILLE – Looked thoroughly professional on December’s monte debut, winning over the short course in good order. Has been afforded time to return to his best and will be well-backed to repeat
  5. NEWTON DES ANDIERS – Has done everything asked of him so far, dominating a 2200m Class D here a week ago. Is clearly cut from good cloth and will again have his chances
  6. NEWTON ELLIS – Gave a fine account on monte debut here, winning a 2200m Class D on Boxing Day. Showed a bit too much spirit on that occasion but will not be far off the mark if Paul Ploquin keeps him focused
Summary: An interesting race in spite of a small number of runners. Full-brother to the champion Idylle Speed, NICE SPEED (2) has done enough under harness to warrant a crack at his intended discipline and with Damien Bonne aboard can get straight down to business. He will, though, be pitted against Mathieu Mottier’s promising NICKEL DE BAILLE (4) who won over the inner course here in early-December and who will benefit from being fitted with front pads this time. Runner-up to him that day before getting off the mark last week, NEWTON DES ANDIERS (5) is also in with a shout.

    C2 – PRIX ANDRE MEUNIER – 2850m (a2m) – Class B – Harness – EUR € 60,000
  7. GODFATHER (DEN) – Quality Swedish-trained element taking first competitive steps south of the nordics. Behind in earnings, is in top shape, will be barefoot, and can play a leading role if he takes to the new profile
  8. DAYAK (ITY) – Unraced since flopping in a Class C here on 3 December. In the frame in 3 of last 4 starts under these conditions however and must not be entirely written off
  9. VALLATONIAN – Made up for December blip when 3rd in a Class E under these conditions last week. Has nothing to prove over track and trip and must be considered a priority
  10. DIVA DEL RONCO – 4th to HUMANITY PELLINI (9) in a Toulouse Class D a fortnight ago but has other priorities this time and can be ruled out
  11. DYLAN DOG FONT – Produced an 80-1 surprise when 5th in a 2700m Class D here on 14 December. Has yet to deliver over 2850m here but in present shape will generate some interest
  12. JANKO HAUFOR – Stormed up in a 2700m Class D here before coming close 2nd in superior company over course and distance next time. Is clearly a cut above most here and will be expected to get back in the winners’ enclosure
  13. IDYLLE DU PERSIL – Capable mare making first appearance since last September. Shoes fitted and poses no danger
  14. IMHOTEP FROMENTRO – Difficult to knock when barefoot and is confirmed under these conditions. Runner-up in his last 2 and, while unlikely to spring any surprises, can nevertheless play a part
  15. HUMANITY PELLINI – Comfortable winner of a 2950m Toulouse Class D a fortnight ago. Is reunited with Mathieu Mottier who won with him in November and should not be far from the action
  16. JAPAROV LIRE – Fine sort that has been excelling when barefoot lately, but sports shoes on this occasion and best to wait
  17. JIZOU D’ETANG – Can prove a handful but ran encouraging 3rd in a Class D over course and distance 2.5 weeks ago. Appears to have found his Vincennes mark and can again figure prominently
  18. JOLIE STAR – Would have finished 2nd on penultimate start had she kept trotting, then followed up with a course-and-distance conditioner. Has a lot more going for her this time and with application is unlikely to disappoint
  19. JIBI DU FRUITIER – Pleasantly surprising 5th in a 2700m Class C here on Christmas Eve. Has placed just once in 4 starts over track and trip and even with David Thomain reining is unlikely to create an upset
  20. IOUPY TOLLEVILLE – Back to preferred shoeing after being trounced in a Class C over track and trip 3 weeks ago. Adores 2850m over the main track but at this level will have his work cut out
  21. MATEO DI QUATTRO – Not as sharp recently as he was last winter. Showed his limits behind JIBI DU FRUITIER (13) on Christmas Eve and is unlikely to attract much support
  22. JOURNEE REVEE – Honest sort that finished in first 5 in all 3 starts here this winter, but against the males will have too much to do
Summary: After having been given a well-measured return to competition, it is no surprise that JANKO HAUFOR (6) is in the form he is in. He just missed out in a Class B here in early-December and, fresh for the occasion, should be able to wrap this up. Barefoot after winning 3 of his last 5 starts, GODFATHER (DEN) (1) makes his Vincennes debut with a good card to play. Norwegian import VALLATONIAN (3) thrives over 2850m on the main track and, importantly, excels for Matthieu Abrivard. JOLIE STAR (12) may not have the most harmonious of formcards but she will be barefoot, reined by Eric Raffin, and not to be underestimated. JIZOU D’ETANG (11) reassured here early this month and even though preferred right-handed, still looks competitively well in.

    C3 – PRIX DE VIENNE-KRIEAU – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 40,000
  23. GURION FONT – Quality Dutch type that has swept all before him to date. Faces a stiffer challenge this time but has shown good speed and will be interesting to watch over the Vincennes surface. Place chance
  24. MISTER MOMO – Interesting Swedish import making debut for new connections. Hind shoes fitted, with Alexandre Abrivard in the bike, but may just be a little race-rusty
  25. PRINS PAASLOO – Sent for a spell after coming flattering 4th in a 2100m Gr.2 at Victoria Park in mid-November. Imposed at Mons on re-entry but will need to find considerably more this time
  26. TOEKY BOUM – Crosses Belgian border for first time after some solid efforts at Mons this winter, however at this level is unlikely to trouble the opposition
  27. GIACINTO SL – Serious Italian colt talking first competitive steps in France. Races barefoot for the occasion, has been entrusted to Eric Raffin, and must be taken seriously
  28. MILAN DU BOSQUET – Has had bags of time to recalibrate after much-needed re-entry run in early-December. Has already won for Anthony Barrier who will be eager to confirm
  29. MAJIRO KALOUMA – Has gone from strength to strength since the autumn, ran excellent 2nd over course and distance late last month, and with shoes off is easy to like for the win
  30. MALIUM – Has yet to make his mark at Vincennes this winter but will be better over a less-urgent 2700m. Shoes off once more and, with application, will have a lot to offer
  31. GRIZZO JET – Returned to winning ways over a mile in Milan on 14 December. Gabriele Gelormini in the bike for French bow but would be preferred over shorter
  32. GO BIG EFFE – Capable Italian visitor starting for first time since being trounced in a Class A over course and distance in early-September. Is barefoot this time but may first need the outing
  33. GHOSTRIDER FONT – Handy Italian colt taking his chances in France for first time. Boasts an excellent win-rate and although unlikely to impose, can still get in on the action
  34. GENNARO JET – No slouch on a good day but 4th of 5 to GRIZZO JET (9) at San Siro last time and can expect to have few friends
  35. MAGNUS TOR – Takes to main track for first time after pleasing over 2200m here in early-December, but still seems to be out of his league
  36. GRAN PREMIO (ITY) – Transalpine raider with excellent references at home. Takes on a better lot this time but returns to racing barefoot and, considering the entry, must be respected
  37. MELKIOR DE BAILLY – Unremarkable colt that struggled to leave his mark in a 2100m Class D here 11 days ago. Will be first-time barefoot but still not a priority
Summary: Well-regarded at home, MAJIRO KALOUMA (7) has done nothing but improve recently, came close to losing his maiden tag here late last month, and with shoes off this time can finally have his way. MILAN DU BOSQUET (6) was eliminated on re-entry early last month, has had time to come on though, and with front pads fitted has a reasonable shot at making his Vincennes debut a winning one. MALIUM (8) gets a second crack at racing barefoot and will be no easy touch if Benoit Robin keeps him trotting. GURION FONT (1) has won all 4 starts at home in the Netherlands and even though untried beyond 2100m, must still be taken seriously.

    C4 – PRIX DE LA VALETTE – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class R Claiming Amateur Riders – Harness – EUR € 18,000
  38. ISOCRATE D’ELA – Starts for first time since 19 November. Is prepping for a return to the monte code and can be ruled out
  39. HUGO DU BOURG – Unable to confirm superb Amiens Class E success when unplaced in Cagnes 2.5 weeks ago. Has never excelled in the claiming category but is not one to be overlooked
  40. IF I TELL YOU – Something of a claiming specialist with respectable references under these conditions. Has been handed an excellent spot in front and should prove dangerous at the business end of the race
  41. HERMES LUDOIS – Has been rather disappointing this term but showed improvement over 2850m here on 14 January. Is confirmed in superior company under these conditions and should be competitive for a spot on the podium
  42. GREZ – Back under harness, at a considerably more modest level, following some below-par performances. Has a particular liking for 2100m over the main track and the draw will do his prospects no disservice. Chance
  43. GASSMAN D’ESSA – Somewhat unlucky in a similar event here on 28 December before running 4th in a Class D over track and trip in early-December. Comes here fresh, starts in front, and even with 4 pads fitted should not disappoint
  44. GIROLAMO – Unremarkable individual with a pair of runs in him since the lengthy layoff. Breaks in front but seems to be taking on too much
  45. GARANCIO BELLO – Has found the going tough since returning to the mainland, most recently below-par behind HERMES LUDOIS (4) in a claimer here last week. Starts wide on front row and not an obvious choice
  46. FILOU SMILING – Has been very disappointing in France over recent months and quite simply has nothing going for him here
  47. JACK DES MALBERAUX – Has already raced 3 times this month with little to show for his efforts. Not ideally-drawn either and is unlikely to shake things up
  48. IERMES DE GUEZ – Quality trotter that is in this to win and restore some morale. Is significantly better than latest result would suggest and, despite the draw, can still make this his own
  49. GREYSON – Unexceptional trotter making first appearance since mid-November. Will be barefoot for the occasion but is unlikely to make his presence felt
  50. GALEO DU TORDOIR – Modest element with better prospects in the provinces at a much lower level. Disregard
  51. GOSSIP BOY – Ran 3rd in a claimer late last summer but has done nothing of note since, and is not about to influence the result
  52. IRIS INTENSE – Not the most dependable of horses but has proven form at a superior level. Did not exactly win the draw lottery but sports front pads this time and with application will not be that easy to dispose of
  53. HIATUS – Has been a complete write-off since last summer and returns to the harness discipline with nothing to contribute
Summary: Oddly disappointing in a Class D here early this month, IERMES DE GUEZ (11) takes quite the dip in category, will be barefoot, and can win this if Leo Blavette successfully navigates the start. Better-positioned on the front row though, and confirmed at a superior level, GREZ (5) returns to the harness code with a lot to offer. IF I TELL YOU (3) has nothing to prove in the claiming division, faces his first objective of the new year, and with shoes off will be no pushover. Similarly well-placed behind the car, HERMES LUDOIS (4) will be expected to show more than he did last week.

    C5 – PRIX DES BALEARES – 2175m (a1m1/4) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 35,000
  54. MA BICHE NOA – Starts for first time since running 2nd at Gournay-en-Bray in early-November. Is barefoot for comeback but is going to need the race
  55. MADAME DELO – Steps up in category after just missing out at Angers 11 days ago. Eric Raffin gets to try his hand and can bring the fight to MAKE IT RIGHT (9)
  56. MIDNIGHT SOMOLLI – No champion but can trot when focused. Has better clockwise references but will be first-time barefoot and worth keeping an eye on
  57. MOONSTAR JYL – Reassured somewhat when 4th behind MOLLY DU CAUX (11) at Graignes but others still easier to trust
  58. MALINKA DE GENNES – 22 starts and yet to lose her maiden tag. Matthieu Abrivard in the bike for first time but still not a concern
  59. MAGIC MAGGIE – Useful sort that has yet to come into herself but gets to race competitively-shod for the first time and will have her supporters
  60. MOME DU LUPIN – Runner-up in 3 of 4 career starts, most recently just beaten at Cordemais earlier in the month. Is not about to win this but can pick up a first-5 payout
  61. MY QUEEN DELO – Moderate filly that made no impact in a 2850m Class E here on 25 December and is unlikely to spring any surprises
  62. MAKE IT RIGHT – Ran 2nd at Le Mans on first association with Benjamin Rochard. Faces first target of the new year and imposing on Vincennes bow is well within her capacity
  63. MADEMOISELLE JOLIE – Placed over the inner course before being eliminated in a Class E over course and distance late last month. Is patently in decent form though and will be no soft touch if Alexis Collette keeps her focused
  64. MOLLY DU CAUX – Beaten only by a very good horse at Graignes late last month. Has been knocking at the door and, considering the entry, must be afforded respect
Summary: Reliability may not be her strong suit but MAKE IT RIGHT (9) almost did just that when 2nd in a Le Mans Class E in mid-December. She is competitively-shod for the first time, Benjamin Rochard stays faithful, and with application will be a tough nut to crack. MADAME DELO (2) sports another formula for his Vincennes debut, is clearly close to her race, and the engagement of Eric Raffin augurs well for her prospects. Well-engaged here, and plainly enjoying a good run of form, MOLLY DU CAUX (11) benefits from a fresh configuration and looks competitive for a place in the frame. Eliminated as often as not, MADEMOISELLE JOLIE (10) is a promising filly nevertheless and will appreciate having been re-shod.
    SELECTIONS

    C6 – PRIX DE MONS – 2175m (a1m1/4) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 41,000
  65. JAVA DES AUGERIES – Modest individual that has never produced the goods under these conditions and, in current shape, is not about to begin now
  66. JUDICIEUSE ZAILER – Pleased last summer before coming completely off the boil and has no realistic chance
  67. JAINA D’ESSARTS – Eliminated in 27 December race of reference, her first start at the venue. Has previously won with 4 pads fitted but 3 consecutive eliminations do little to inspire confidence
  68. JICKY GIRL – Has not been seen over 2175m here since 2022. Is no longer the horse she was then and even with Mathieu Mottier in the bike, can be passed over
  69. JALNA GIRL – Got back in the game when 2nd of 11 to JAHIA DU TRIO (14) in a 2850m Class E here on 27 December, and Eric Raffin will be out to turn the tables. Chance
  70. JUJU DE NORTHEN – Respectable in the provinces at a lower level. Eliminated on sole Vincennes start and is not about to shake things up
  71. JUTONNIERE – Eliminated on comeback at Cordemais last week. Is a tough element though and with application can play a leading role
  72. JET GIRL – Twice runner-up here before coming 4th in a Mauquenchy Class E 10 days ago. Is reunited with David Thomain who went close with her a month back and must be taken seriously
  73. JOIE D’AMOUR – Has been reconfigured after coming 5th in an Argentan Class F a month ago. Is competitively-shod this time, with Alexandre Abrivard reining, but may find the going a bit tougher
  74. JOSEPHA CHOUP – Returns to racing barefoot after a pair of solid efforts in the provinces. Disqualified from 2nd at Agen in November when first-time barefoot, but with Matthieu Abrivard at the helm, can put the record straight
  75. JUANA DE SEY – Not the most reliable mare here but is hard to knock when focused. Was by no means disgraced here last time out but still represents no more than a minor place prospect
  76. JACINTHE DU BOIRON – Honest mare that ran 2nd twice before losing her action in Bordeaux. Has ample ability but no left-handed references and others preferred
  77. JUVAMINE RENARDIER – Pleased in Argentan re-entry but ran 9th of 12 behind JADE MAJOR (15) in a Class E over course and distance late last month, and can expect to have few takers
  78. JAHIA DU TRIO – Imposed at Le Croise-Laroche in mid-December before going on to repeat in a Class E over 2850m here 12 days later. Benefits from a good entry and Anthony Barrier will be determined to capitalise
  79. JADE MAJOR – Useful mare returning to racing barefoot after prepping at Lyon-La Soie earlier in the month. Is unlikely to get her nose in front but still has the wherewithal to make first 5
Summary: Nicely-engaged close to the limit of earnings, JAHIA DU TRIO (14) has been enjoying something of a renaissance recently and, after romping on her 2850m Vincennes bow, looks eminently capable of imposing over this shorter trip. Anthony Barrier will still be keeping an eye on JALNA GIRL (5) who ran 2nd to her that day, and JOSEPHA CHOUP (10) who will be barefoot and reined by Matthieu Abrivard. JUTONNIERE (7) has been reconfigured for her return to the capital and will have a lot to offer if she keeps trotting.

    C7 – PRIX DE WOLVEGA – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 59,000
  80. IQUEM – Gave a good account here on 3 January before running 3rd in a Cordemais Class F last week, but sports 4 pads this time and others easier to back
  81. JUSTE SNOB – Lost victory after being disqualified in a Class D over track and trip on 27 December. 4 pads fitted this time but should still be capable of contesting the finish
  82. JENTIL DIESCHOOT – Ran 3rd over 2850m here prior to coming 4th in a Cagnes Class C on 18 December. Is reunited with Mathieu Mottier for the occasion and is unlikely to go home empty-handed
  83. JOHORE – Won over course and distance on re-entry before running 4th in a 2850m Class D here early this month. Is unlikely to win this but has been re-shod and is not about to let the side down
  84. HIPPARIS – Has done everything asked of him in last 4 starts. Returns to the professional ranks in good shape but is arguably being aimed too high
  85. HILTON DU HOULET – Useful on a good day and is confirmed over the main track but would be preferred alternatively-shod
  86. JERICHO DU RIB – Picked up victory following disqualification of JUSTE SNOB (2) in a Class D over track and trip on 27 December. May just prove more performant in the new configuration and can settle scores
  87. INDY DE LA FYE – Unable to confirm Graignes victory when 5th, a place behind IQUEM (1), in a 2100m Class D here on 3 January. Faces a stiffer test this time though and chances limited
  88. JOOST D’OLERON – Serious trotter that showed improvement last month in the provinces. Appears to be back on the right trajectory and will not have foreign horses to deal with this time. Place chance
  89. IN EN VRIE – Has been struggling with form for some time. Stays shod and is plainly the weakest link
  90. HENZO DE CARSI – Complicated but capable dual-discipline trotter that lost his action under the saddle here 3 weeks ago. Entrusted to Alexandre Abrivard for return to the harness code and should not be overlooked
  91. IRINO DE GUERON – Back racing left-handed after twice pleasing in the provinces. Has solid references over course and distance and, given the conditions, can play a major role
Summary: A veritable dynamo when focused, JERICHO DU RIB (7) missed out by little to JUSTE SNOB (2) under similar conditions late last month only to inherit success. Both have been reconfigured for the re-match but, with the latter sporting 4 pads, Joël Hallais’s horse could legitimately turn the tables. Reassuring at Meslay-du-Maine a month ago, JOOST D’OLERON (9) can again make the frame if still on the boil. Anthony Dollion could not have wished for a better entry for IRINO DE GUERON (12) who appears close to his race.

    C8 – PRIX DE GELSENKIRCHEN – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 40,000
  92. LAY UP – No slouch on a good day but has so far shown a preference for a shorter trip and can be ruled out
  93. LE TOUQUET – Serious sort with just the one race in him since the break. Stays shod and best to wait
  94. LE MAESTRO – Reassuringly set his best chrono when 3rd in a 2100m Class D here on 11 January. Is never easy to gauge but Paul Ploquin will be eager to confirm the trainer’s good work
  95. LORENZO BERRY – Quality element that has struggled somewhat this term, but showed improvement in 11 January race of reference, and can make his presence felt if kept focused
  96. LIMO DE MER – Fine trotter making first appearance since winning a 2100m Class D here on 4 December. Takes on a better lot this time though and others preferred
  97. LOQUIDY – First-rate individual that recently beat Liscado De Houelle, who since went on to confirm. Is new to 2700m but given his versatility, will not be easy to oppose
  98. LOCO FLIGNY – Should not be condemned for failing to deliver behind LE MAESTRO (3) in a 2100m Class D here on 11 January. Returns to his distance of preference and can challenge for a place in the frame
  99. LABEL DE LARRE – Has not been at his best in either code lately. Returns to racing shod and has no possible chance
  100. LILIUS DE GUEZ – Serious type racing here for fitness maintenance. Has other priorities and can be ignored
  101. LOOK D’HERMES – Hardy element that goes over any trip, and most recently flew up at Pontchateau. Is hard to fault when barefoot and has a realistic chance of finishing in the mix
  102. LOOKING D’AURCY – Has shown a different side under the saddle since starting to race barefoot, but is here for reasons of conditioning and can be passed over
  103. LENNON D’HERFRAIE – Put in a good performance to run 4th, a place behind LE MAESTRO (3), in a 2100m Class D here on 11 January. Is clearly close to his race and can contest the finish this time
  104. LOVER JULMA – Reliability not his strong suit but has evident ability. Has form with his driver who will be mindful to keep him trotting. First 5
  105. L’ESPOIR – Never far from losing his action but ran valiant 5th in a 2700m Class C late last month. Has been reconfigured for the occasion, however a repeat seems improbable
  106. LEADER DU CHATELET – Useful type that was surprisingly eliminated at Cagnes on 27 December. Goes barefoot for first time, with Mathieu Mottier reining, but is being introduced to Vincennes and is unlikely to cause an upset
  107. L’ATOLL – Oddly lacklustre in a Class C over course and distance on 28 December. Takes a dip in category and should prove considerably more competitive this time. Place prospect
Summary: LOQUIDY (6) has hardly put a foot wrong since his debut in November 2024; he has taken superbly to Vincennes conditions and will be favoured to confirm his recent success. LENNON D’HERFRAIE (12), however, does have a particular liking for 2700m here and can apply the pressure. The well-regarded L’ATOLL (16) has a pair of runs under his belt since the layoff and drops back down the class-ladder with a lot to contribute. Very much at home over course and distance, LOCO FLIGNY (7) should not be far off the mark.

  108. KANO – Has ample ability but out of the picture in last 2. Has other priorities and can be passed over
  109. KINGSMAN D’EOLE – Won 2 in a row here during the autumn, including under the day’s conditions. Races barefoot for the occasion and from the 2-spot can give KATCHI QUICK (5) something to think about
  110. KORONA DELADOU – Beat a number of these over 2700m in early-December before comfortably securing a 2750m Toulouse Class E on 3 January. Benefits from an excellent draw and although not a priority, should not be ruled out either
  111. KERALDO – Has looked rather ordinary this winter at Vincennes, most recently biting off more than he could chew on Christmas Day. Enjoys a good draw but others still easier to support
  112. KATCHI QUICK – Serious sort that gave a fine account here mid-month, dominating a 2850m Class C. Has yet to prove himself over shorter but in present form is easy to like for the double
  113. KIKI AND CO – Tricky element but has talented in spades. Has a monte campaign on his agenda however and can be confidently disregarded
  114. KINGSLAND DE SIMM – Has been knocking at the door of late, most recently putting in a good showing in Cagnes early this month. Pleased on last month’s Vincennes debut but still represents no more than a minor place chance
  115. KEEN ON ME – Has been going good-guns since September, most recently winning 2 of last 3. Pleased on sole start over track and trip and a repeat of his recent Cagnes performance would see him finish close once again
  116. KESITO D’URVILLE – Gives an honourable account for the most part but was well-beaten here earlier in the month and being reconfigured is unlikely change much
  117. KING DE L’OUEST – Won last 2 starts here, latterly a 2700m Class C here on 27 November. Will be returning fresh and despite the draw still looks competitive for a place in the picture
  118. KONG D’HOLLOW – Classy individual with nothing to prove at Vincennes, but stays shod this time and best to keep one’s powder dry
  119. KHARNAS – Has done nothing but improve lately, latterly 3rd to KATCHI QUICK (5) in a 2850m Class C here a week ago. On this occasion though, confirmation seems unlikely
  120. KOALA BLUE – 2nd to KINGSMAN D’EOLE (2) in November before running tenacious 4th to KATCHI QUICK (5) in a 2850m Class C here a week back. Is close to his race but in this company may have to settle for a minor place cheque
  121. KOMERE DE CORDAY – Generous mare that consistently gives her best and most recently ran 3rd in a 2700m Class C here 3 weeks ago. Has pulled a rough number but should still be good enough to make first 5
  122. KING GEORGES – Ran 2nd in a 2700m Class C before being eliminated in last week’s race of reference. Has previously won over course and distance and even though the draw will do him no favours, he cannot be discounted
  123. KARMA – Encouraged behind KING GEORGES (15) late last month before flopping in 15 January race of reference. Sports a fresh formula but will not be helped by the tough draw
Summary: An excellent servant that made short work of his first target of the season, KATCHI QUICK (5) is not known for his sprinting prowess but he is plainly in top shape, enjoys an advantageous spot on the front line, and the race looks his for the taking. Winner under these conditions during the autumn, KINGSMAN D’EOLE (2) will be barefoot following his Cordemais conditioner and looks the main threat. Respectable in both Vincennes appearances, KEEN ON ME (8) returns to the capital in rude health and is unlikely to let the side down.
