R1 VINCENNES [L-H]
C1 – PRIX PRO PATRIA – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 40,000
- LOVELY FACE – 3rd, a place behind LAMBADA GIRL (7), in a 2850m Class D here 3 weeks ago. Failed to deliver on sole start over the distance but in present shape is easy to recommend for a first-5 payout
- LACIENDA FLASH – It took almost a year but returned to the winners’ enclosure on 21 December, comfortably securing a Pontchateau Class F. Has never excelled over 2100m here though and others preferred
- LINOTTE DU MOUCHEL – Heavily-campaigned mare that looked rather ordinary in a 2700m Class D here on Christmas Day and is not about to set off any fireworks
- LAURENCE MADRIK – No slouch and 9 days ago made short work of a Nantes Class E, but will be pitted against some better horses this time and chances appear limited
- LOVELY JIM – Steps up in category after having shown an appreciation for these conditions. Is close to opening her Vincennes account but in this company, may have to settle for a place cheque
- LADY HAUFOR – Was not afforded a run when clearly going good-guns here on Christmas Day. Races over 2100m for first time and David Thomain will be keen to take advantage of the good draw. Chance
- LAMBADA GIRL – Serious mare that has been showing her form lately and has taken her game to a new level since starting to race barefoot. Is drawn somewhat wide but with Eric Raffin in the bike looks the one to beat
- LOU DU DONJON – Has been acquitting herself well in Paris over recent months, latterly winning a 2700m Class E in good order on 1 December. Comes here fresh and must be considered a player
- LAIKA DES MARES – Won 2 of last 4, both over the inner course. Sports pads this time though and has little chance in this category
- LOUVE DE BAIS – Undefeated in 2 barefoot starts over the main track, most recently winning a 2700m Class E with ease on 13 January. On back line here but should not be overlooked
- LUTECE D’OUVILLE – Makes Vincennes debut after winning 2 straight in the provinces. Is first-time barefoot but is still being aimed too high
- LA FOULE – Has shown a liking for Vincennes conditions, most recently winning a Class E over track and trip on 27 December. Takes on a better bunch this time but has been reconfigured and, despite the draw, should not be underestimated
Summary: LAMBADA GIRL (7) made up for her Christmas Eve blunder when runner-up over longer here early this month. She has already made her mark over 2100m here and can do so again. Eric Raffin will be unsurprisingly mindful of Christian Bigeon’s useful LADY HAUFOR (6) who was denied a path when full of running here on Christmas Day. Breaking wide but recently a winner over 2700m here, LOU DU DONJON (8) goes barefoot for the first time over 2100m and in current condition is not about to let the side down. In the frame in both return runs over track and trip, LOVELY JIM (5) benefits from a fine draw and steps up in category with a good card to play.

C2 – PRIX RMC (PRIX TIDALIUM PELO) – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class C Amateur Riders – Mounted – EUR € 61,000 - HOUARNEAU – Useful but went off the boil late last season. Has just the one race in him since the spell and is unlikely to spice things up
- IKURO JIEL – Capable on a good day but has twice failed to conform his good Caen performance and others easier to back
- IBIS PETTEVINIERE – Useful dual-discipline type making first monte start since July 2024. Has raced little over recent months and switching codes may be just the ticket. First 5
- GOUTIER CELESTE – Has 2 runs under his belt following a lengthy absence. Will be fully fit by now, won his only start under these conditions, and must be afforded respect
- HELLO JADE RUSH – Well-beaten 5th in a Class C under these conditions in late-November before prepping under harness. Is not a priority but has always acquitted herself well at Vincennes and could yet get a look in
- HERMES EXPRESS – Showed serious monte promise in early 2025 but trounced in last 2 and is unlikely to influence the outcome
- INDICE DELADOU – Won 3 on the trot before coming 6th in a 2175m Class C here on 6 December. In less-elevated company this time, is reunited with his driver of preference, and can return to victorious ways
- GLADIATOR BOY – Flattering 5th of 7 finishers in a 2175m Class C here a week ago. Is some way off his best and will need to show marked improvement
- HUGO OCCAGNES – Has looked very ordinary since returning to competition this term and can be confidently ruled out
- IMPULSE JULRY – Winner in both codes during the autumn but ran 9th behind IRON DU GERS (14) here on 17 December and will need to significantly raise her game
- HARVEST – Easy winner of a 2850m Class D here in late-December before running 2nd in a Class B on 14 January. Sports just front pads this time but, in current form, is still worth retaining
- HIS DREAM DE CAHOT – Made up for late-November clinker when 3rd, a place behind HARVEST (11), in a 2850m Class B here on 14 January. Is confirmed with his jockey and can again make the frame
- HERMES ANGEL – No slouch on a good day at a lower level. Has struggled with stride issues lately and can be passed over
- IRON DU GERS – Excellent servant when barefoot and focused. Raced better here last weekend than the result would suggest and, with stride in check, can trot his way back into the winners’ circle
- IGO CLEA – Quality element that was surprisingly disappointing in 2 here before the turn of the year. Thrives for the most part over 2700m here and has the wherewithal to get in on the action this time
Summary: An absolute dynamo in his current configuration, INDICE DELADOU (7) bit off more than he could chew last time out, but is back at a more suitable level. Unbeaten in his last 5 starts with Eva Bouclet, he is easy to fancy for the win. He will not have it all his own way though if the serious, and well-engaged, IRON DU GERS (14) performs as well in the monte code as he has done under harness. HIS DREAM DE CAHOT (12) finished just behind the in-form HARVEST (11) here mid-month but with the latter less competitively-shod this time, the tables can turn.

C3 – PRIX DE MEADOWLANDS – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class A – Harness – EUR € 62,000 - MILLIONDOLLARSBABY – Moderate individual making first start since flopping at Laval in early-November and is unlikely to upset the status quo
- MA AM CHENU – Never far from losing her action but has buckets of untapped potential. Is proven with her driver and, if given the chance, can apply the pressure on MY QUALITA PIYA (8)
- MARIE DI LEONE – Had been showing decent consistency until failing to deliver behind MOLLY MADRIK (9) over shorter here 2 weeks ago. Has been reconfigured and will be reined by Anthony Barrier, but still not an obvious choice
- MARILYN MONROE – Took little time getting back in shape, most recently 3rd in a 2925m Cagnes Class B 2.5 weeks ago. Has placed in 1 of 2 under these conditions and racing barefoot can make all the difference. Place chance
- MORNING NEWS – Quality element making first appearance since running 4th in a Gr.2 over course and distance in mid-November but will not be given a hard race
- MOUSKIE DE GUEZ – Can trot, and has references under these conditions. Was quickly eliminated in a Gr.3 here 2 weeks ago, and even though dropping in category and sporting a new formula, is still not to be entirely written off
- MARGAUX DES ARRIS – Impressive more than once last winter but has been off the boil for the past 12 months and will have few friends
- MY QUALITA PIYA – Well-regarded filly that should not be too hastily-judged for recent Vincennes blip. Put on a better show earlier last month and, competitively-shod for the first time, can return to successful ways
- MOLLY MADRIK – Has shown marked improvement since returning to the harness code, winning a 2175m Class B here a fortnight ago. Goes barefoot again, has yet to disappoint for his driver, and although unlikely to repeat should nevertheless finish in the mix
- MERIDA DU GRANIT – Good, consistent filly that ran well-beaten 2nd to MOLLY MADRIK (9) in a 2175m Class B here a fortnight ago. Has ground to make up but is still competitive for a first-5 cheque
- METIDJA – Sprang an 18-1 surprise when victorious in a Class C over track and trip on 30 December. Races barefoot for the first time and although not a priority, can nevertheless get in on the action
- MIDNIGHT EXPRESS – Sports a new configuration after finishing last of 6, having lost all chance at the start of a Class A behind MARA BEST (14) here on 3 January. Is not a contender but will be expected to show improvement all the same
- MELODY COOL – Was not the most performant of fillies in 2025. Has been re-shod for return to competition but is still going to need the race
- MARA BEST – Showed improvement here early this month when 2nd in a Class A over course and distance. Will not be available at 45-1 this time and can again make the frame
Summary: MY QUALITA PIYA (8) has been eliminated as often as not but has bags of ability. She produced a fine effort over course and distance in early-December, will be competitively-shod for the first time, and can finally open her Vincennes account. MA AM CHENU (2) is not the easiest to handle either but her ability is not in question, and with application can play a leading role. MARA BEST (14) gave a reassuringly good performance under these very conditions 3 weeks ago and can deliver once more, provided she keeps trotting. Placed here last summer, MARILYN MONROE (4) left a good impression at Cagnes earlier this month; she races barefoot this time and with form maintained, can confirm.

C4 – PRIX ROVA CAVIAR (PRIX OFFSHORE DREAM) – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 40,000 - LAUSSAC DU BUISSON – Has not been as sharp since imposing over 2700m here in September. Is barefoot, and starts on the inside, and even with Eric Raffin back in the bike , is not about to set off any fireworks
- LUCIFER DU CAIEU – Put a pair of monte eliminations behind him to run 4th in a 2850m Class D here a week ago. Trainer back in the bike and can make the frame this time
- LOOPING MIL – Did everything right on Vincennes debut 11 days ago when securing a 2700m Class E. Takes on a superior lot this time but could not have asked for a better draw and Mathieu Mottier will be keen to capitalise on David Thomain’s good work
- LORD DES FANES – Produced a 16-1 surprise when 2nd in a Cagnes Class D 2 weeks ago but is not the biggest fan of the main track and others easier to support
- LYNX DU SAPTEL – Tough individual with excellent barefoot credentials. Has yet to make his mark over these shorter trips but has been handed a good number and can finish in the mix
- LOBBY MESLOIS – A quality element that is notably better than recent figures would suggest. Sports front pads this time and can make a big splash if Damien Bonne keeps him trotting
- LOYAL DU CHOQUEL – New to the distance but has taken particularly well to main-track profile. Is patently close to his race and deserves to get his nose in front one of these days
- LUCKY LOVE – Placed twice here before the turn of the year then suffered some misfortune behind LUCIFER DU CAIEU (2) last Sunday. Is forced to break wide on front row and looks a minor place prospect at best
- LOUIS QUATORZE – Goes barefoot following a modest reintroduction run here a fortnight ago. Races barefoot this time but still not an obvious choice
- LAKOS DE BERLES – Has demonstrated good versatility and, in September, won his only start under these conditions. Is reunited with Matthieu Abrivard and can finish close if kept focused
- LAST DES BROUSSES – Unexceptional trotter making first start since 21 October and appears to have no realistic chance
- L’AMOUR D’ETANG – Has started to come good again this winter, most recently 4th, a place behind LYNX DU SAPTEL (5), in a 2850m Class D here on 6 January. Is unlikely to create an upset but is still good enough to make his presence felt
- LITTERAIRE – Capable sort but has just the one run in him since the break. Is barefoot this time but the draw will do him no favours
Summary: LOBBY MESLOIS (6) is never the easiest of horses to handle but he has evident ability. He has not been the luckiest this winter but sports a fresh configuration and, with application, can win this. That said, he will be up against the improving LOYAL DU CHOQUEL (7) who has been knocking at the door, and LUCIFER DU CAIEU (2) who put in a fine finish here last weekend. LAKOS DE BERLES (10) lost his action here early last month but has otherwise been in cracking form and has yet to disappoint for Matthieu Abrivard.

C5 – PRIX CAMILLE BLAISOT – 2175m (a1m1/4) – Gr2 – Mounted – EUR € 120,000 - LOUVE ANGEL – Respectable mare with decent aptitude for the monte code but in this class has no possible chance
- LOVELY DU VALLON – Debuts in the discipline after 2 moderate harness runs here recently, but is clearly taking on too much
- LAFOLLY DELO – Has pleased for the most part over recent months but made no impact in 14 December race of reference and can be passed over
- LYZIA DES AGETS – Went from winning a Class B over the inner course to running 4th behind LIONHEART (10) in Gr.1 Prix Jag de Bellouet here on 14 December. Will not be available at 59-1 this time and could well pick up another first-5 cheque
- LARA DU LERRE – Back under the saddle for first time in 2.5 months. Showed her form under harness here mid-month, has yet to disappoint over 2175m, and should prove competitive for a place in the frame
- LOVE LETTER – Has demonstrated fine aptitude for both disciplines and should not be condemned for her Gr.1 Criterium Continental performance. Is barefoot for first time under the saddle and must be taken seriously
- LISBONNE DRY – Moves back up in category after running unthreatening 6th to LONDON (8) in 2700m Gr.3 Prix Léon Tacquet here early this month and, even racing barefoot, is unlikely to cause an upset
- LONDON – Made short work of a 2700m Gr.3 here on ridden debut 3 weeks ago. Plainly has a lot more to give and is in with a realistic shout of confirming
- LEXIE DE BANVILLE – Dual Gr-1 monte winner but has not been firing on all cylinders lately. Ran 4th last time over 2175m though and has a reasonable chance of getting in on the action
- LIONHEART – Unbeaten in both starts over course and distance, both this term. Has swept away almost all before him since September but takes on LONDON (8) for the first time, which promises to be a very interesting challenge. Chance
Summary: It took some time before Mathieu Mottier debuted LONDON (8) under the saddle but he eventually did 3 weeks ago and she duly romped in the Gr.2 Prix Léon Tacquet. Clearly ready to take the next step, she will this time be pitted against the revitalised and reconfigured LIONHEART (10) who ran 2nd in the Gr.1 Prix Jag de Bellouet in mid-December. Contenders for the 3rd place on the podium will likely be a barefoot LARA DU LERRE (5) who is associated with Alexandre Abrivard, and LOVE LETTER (6) who ran 3rd to Eric Raffin’s colt in the Gr.1 Prix des Elites during the autumn.

C6 – PRIX D’AMERIQUE – AMERIQUE RACES – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Gr1 – Harness – EUR € 1,000,000 - HARMONY DU RABUTIN – Produced a 38-1 surprise when 4th to INMAROSA (14) in Gr.2 Prix du Bourbonnais in early-December. Contests first Prix d’Amerique aged 9 though and is unlikely to shake things up
- IROISE DE LA NOE – Would have finished 5th in last year’s edition had she not faulted in the straight. Was superb in the last qualifier and a similar performance could see her win this
- KING OPERA – Fine servant that ran surprising 4th in Prix de Belgique a fortnight ago, assuring his berth here. Barefoot for just 2nd time in his career but is unlikely to spring any surprises
- J’AIME LE FOOT – Qualified when 4th in Prix de Bretagne. Disappointing when barefoot in Prix de Belgique though and looks a rank outsider
- IMMORTAL DOC – Quality nordic element that made up for Prix du Bourbonnais performance with 2 consecutive places, latterly 3rd in Prix de Belgique. Tends to go well for Bjorn Goop and while not an obvious player, should not be entirely ignored
- EPIC KRONOS – Classy Swedish sort that comfortably won the Gr.1 Prix Ténor de Baune on 21 December. Takes on older horses this time but is shod as he was that day and unlikely to disappoint
- KEEP GOING – Gives a good account for the most part and qualified nicely when 2nd in Prix de Bourbonnais. Was found wanting in Prix Ténor de Baune however and will need to show more
- BULLET THE BLUESKY – Serious Swedish 5yo that ran 4th behind LOVINO BELLO (9) in Gr.2 Prix de Croix on 10 January. Boasts excellent form at home in Sweden but appears to be taking on too much
- LOVINO BELLO – Facile winner of Gr.2 Prix Octave Douesnel in early-December. Made up for Criterium Continental misfortune when close 2nd in Gr.2 Prix de Croix and, while not a priority, should not be underestimated either
- FRANK GIO – Fast-finishing 2nd in Gr.1 Critérium Continental before running 2nd to IROISE DE LA NOE (2) in Prix de Belgique here on 11 January. Boasts excellent Vincennes credentials and is unlikely to be far from the action
- JOSH POWER – Ran 4th in the 2025 renewal with Eric Raffin, but Sebastien Ernault back in the bike after making full recovery. Is quietly confident of his chances, is hard to knock when barefoot, and will legitimately garner significant support
- JUST LOVE YOU – Was not disgraced in Prix de Bourgogne despite enduring a horrible trip. Has not been firing on all cylinders either and is unlikely to repeat her 2nd place of 2025
- HOKKAIDO JIEL – Showed improvement in Prix de Bourgogne when 4th behind GO ON BOY (18). Ran 2nd at 90-1 in 2024 and, although unlikely to repeat, should nevertheless hold his own
- INMAROSA – Easy winner of Gr.2 Prix du Bourbonnais before coming 3rd to the absent Jushua Tree in Prix de Bourgogne 3 weeks later. Is unlikely to get her nose in front but still has the wherewithal to make first 5
- KOCTEL DU DAIN – Out of the picture in 3 after running 2nd in Gr.2 Prix Marcel Laurent in early November. Has not been reconfigured and cannot be considered a player
- HOOKER BERRY – 2023 winner but has not been quite as sharp this term. Encouraging 5th in Prix de Belgique 2 weeks ago but still not a concern
- FRANCESCO ZET – Classy Swedish element that enjoyed a productive 2025 but flopped on sole Vincennes appearance. Is barefoot for the occasion, with Benjamin Rochard reining, but others still easier to back
- GO ON BOY – Richest horse here making 4th Amerique start. Has not raced barefoot since winning Gr.1 Prix de France last February, is plainly at the top of his game, and is easy to like for the win
Summary: Dynamic winner of the Gr.2 Prix de Belgique a fortnight ago, on her first association with Eric Raffin, IROISE DE LA NOE (2) returns to racing barefoot and can become the first mare since Belina Josselyn in 2019 to win the Prix d’Amerique. She will be opposed though by the evergreen and barefoot GO ON BOY (18) who ran 3rd in the 2025 edition, and 4th-placed and similarly barefoot JOSH POWER (11) who has been kept on the boil since running away with the Prix de Bretagne. Winner of 2 Gr.1 races in 3 Vincennes starts, EPIC KRONOS (6) faces a tougher test than he did in the Gr.1 Prix Ténor de Baune but still looks competitively well in. FRANK GIO (10) gave LIZA JOSSELYN something of a scare in the Gr.1 Critérium Continental before running 2nd in the Belgique and even though only 5 still looks a serious player.
SELECTIONS

C7 – PRIX LE PARISIEN (PX JEAN RENE GOUGEON) – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Gr3 – Harness – EUR € 90,000 - ICEBREAKER (DEN) – Gave a fine account in Gr.2 Prix de Bourgogne last month before prepping in a 2850m Gr.3 here last weekend. Starts on the inside but Eric Raffin will still be eyeing the win
- COLBERT WF – Reassuring 5th, a place behind KAPTAIN DU LIAMONE (5), in a 2900m Cagnes Gr.3 2.5 weeks ago. Enjoys a decent draw but others still easier to trust
- KAMEHAMEHA – Takes a dip in class after running 5th in Gr.1 Prix Ténor de Baune, at 80-1, on 21 December. Is less performant under these conditions though and even from the 3-spot is unlikely to shake things up
- IALTO D’HERTALS – Dominated NINEPOINTS LASSE (13) when victorious in a 2850m Class A here late last month. Is seldom seen over 2100m these days though and cannot be considered a contender
- KAPTAIN DU LIAMONE – Honest individual that seldom puts a foot out of line these days, latterly 4th in a Cagnes Gr.3 2.5 weeks ago. Placed in both course-and-distance runs last season and from the 5-spot can hold his own
- CHARMY CHARLY AS – Drops back in class after being dominated in a Cagnes Gr.3 on 8 January, and even in this company will have little to contribute
- JAZZMAN (GER) – Narrow but solid winner of a Gr.3 before faulting early in a Gr.1. Has yet to deliver over 2100m here but has good speed and a repeat of his Gr.2 Marcel Laurent effort would see him go close
- JILORD VIVA – Ran 4th in Gr.2 GNT Final then conditioned here earlier in the month. Will be shod to preference this time and even though drawn wide still looks a major player
- KID BELLAY – Eliminated when unsupported in Gr.1 Prix de Cornulier a week ago and in this contest has nothing to offer
- KUIPER – Opened his French account when securing Gr.3 Prix Oscar Collard over course and distance on 13 December before flopping on New Year’s Day. Should not be too hastily-judged and his trainer will be determined to set the record straight
- KILLIAM FROMENTRO – Is significantly better than recent numbers would imply. Goes barefoot for just 2nd time since moving to the Bazire yard and, drawn on the back line or not, still looks a possible spoiler
- ELDORADO JET – Fine campaigner making Vincennes bow after winning a 2925m Cagnes Class D earlier in the month but is biting off more than he can chew this time
- NINEPOINTS LASSE – Ran 5th over track and trip before coming 2nd to IALTO D’HERTALS (4) in a 2850m Class A here late last month. Has the fastest chrono in the field over the distance, will be reunited with Mathieu Mottier, and will not be far off the mark
- IRON MESLOIS – Has 3 runs under his belt following a lengthy hiatus. Has yet to get into his stride and can be ruled out
- COMBAT FIGHTER – Encouraging 4th of 12 in 2850m Gr.3 Prix de Brest here last weekend. Has been allocated a poor number but is clearly in shape and cannot be ruled out
Summary: The Danish ICEBREAKER (DEN) (1) raced better over this very course and distance in the Gr.2 Prix de Bourgogne late last month, will run barefoot this time, and should be good enough to win a race of this nature. JAZZMAN (GER) (7) failed to confirm his Gr.3 Prix Narquois victory when eliminated early in the Gr.1 Prix Tenor de Baune, but he has been reconfigured and Alexandre Abrivard will be eager to put things right. JILORD VIVA (8) has already won over course and distance this winter and reverts to a confirmed formula with a good hand to play. NINEPOINTS LASSE (13) is plainly on the right road and should be competitive at the business end of the race.

C8 – PRIX JACQUES ANDRIEU – 2850m (a2m) – Gr2 – Mounted – EUR € 120,000 - JACARANDA – Has not been seen out for almost 2 months but has won his last 7 monte starts. Is new to the distance here but has tasted defeat just once with Benjamin Rochard, and from the front line can get straight back in the game
- IVANOF – Has returned to the discipline in excellent shape, most recently winning a Class B under these conditions, but in this grade of race will have too much to do
- JE REVE DU BOIS – Got back in the winners’ circle after securing a 2700m Class B here on 5 January, holding off JUST FOR BACK (4), and in similar shape can put on another good show
- JUST FOR BACK – Highly consistent in this branch of the business, latterly close 2nd to JE REVE DU BOIS (3) in a 2700m Class B here on 5 January. Has a particular liking for these conditions and is not incapable of picking up a first-5 payout
- HEDEN CRUZ – Won a Class D over course and distance on 17 December but was eliminated in Gr.3 Prix Yvonnick Bodin 10 days later, and in this company will need to find more
- GALA D’URFIST – Trotter with ample ability but has returned modestly to competition and will have few, if any, friends
- GAZELLE DE VAL – Has not been particularly sharp since this time last year. Has won numerous times for Mathieu Mottier but is off the boil and others preferred
- FLEURON D’ACADIE – Sprang something of a surprise when 5th behind HALICIA BELLA (10) in 2700m Gr.3 Prix Yvonnick Bodin here on 27 December, however a repeat seems most improbable
- GO OR NOT – Pleasant 4th to JAZZ IN MONTREUX (11) in 2700m Gr.3 Prix Djerid here a fortnight back. Will not be available at 64-1 this time and is unlikely to be as competitive either
- HALICIA BELLA – Has not won for over a year but ran 2nd in 2700m Gr.3 Prix Yvonnick Bodin here on 27 December, and will not be available at 25-1 this time
- JAZZ IN MONTREUX – Made up for Gr.3 Prix Yvonnick Bodin performance when easily winning 2700m Gr.3 Prix Djerid here a fortnight back. Has earned the right to race in this company and even has the wherewithal to win a race of this nature
- FILOU D’ANJOU – Has been disappointing on the whole this season and will need to show considerable improvement on recent Prix Djerid effort
- INO DU LUPIN – Excellent servant that has been thriving under harness lately. Has everything he needs for monte debut and despite the extra 25m to travel still looks a serious proposition
- FILWELL – Serious veteran with significant form under these conditions. Has just the one race in him since the break, and incurs the penalty, but could still get a look in
- FULTON – A wonderful campaigner under the saddle when barefoot. Has nothing to prove at this level and even from the 2nd row looks capable of trotting his way into the frame
Summary: INO DU LUPIN (13) has been firing on all cylinders since the autumn, will be entrusted to Alexandre Abrivard for the first time, and can make his monte bow a victorious one. He will be opposed though by the returning barefoot steamroller JACARANDA (1) who is 25m better off, and JAZZ IN MONTREUX (11) who comfortably won the Gr.3 Prix Djerid here 2 weeks ago. Runner-up in the Gr.2 Prix Jules Lemonnier over shorter here last month, FULTON (15) incurs the handicap but will be barefoot and a tough nut to crack.

C9 – PRIX HELEN JOHANSSON – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Gr3 – Harness – EUR € 90,000 - DEA SPRINT BAR – Quality individual entrusted to Mathieu Mottier for first time after a necessary re-entry run on 27 December. Has nothing to prove at this level but may just be a race shy
- JOCONDE SIBEY – Left a favourable impression despite being denied a run on re-entry here 3 weeks ago. Enjoys a good spot on front row and, if kept out of trouble will have a realistic chance of making the frame
- JOLIE SURPRISE – Pleased on comeback at Cagnes-sur-Mer on 18 December when 2nd in a 2925m Class C. Will have come on for the race but others still easier to back
- EMMA DEI VELTRI – Serious Italian raider making French debut in excellent form. Has never excelled beyond a mile but has a lot going for her here and can get straight down to business
- KEEN WINNER – Ran 2nd in Gr.3 Prix de Boissy-Saint-Léger over course and distance in mid-November before running 7th behind KEMIA DU CHENE (11) in a similar event here on 13 December. Handed a good draw and Anthony Barrier will be keen to capitalise
- IDYLLE EXPRESS – Secured the hat-trick when comfortably winning a 2700m Class B here on 31 December. Takes a hike in category but is plainly at the top of her game, and the draw does her prospects no disservice
- LIGHTNING STRIDE – Hardy nordic raider with just the one race under her belt since the lengthy layoff. Is barefoot for French bow, starts on front line, and under these conditions looks competitively well in
- ELEGANCE KRONOS – Back under harness after running 4th in a monte Gr.3 here early this month. Is confirmed at this level but is not a priority this time around
- IBIZA BELLA – Reliability not her strong suit but showed considerable improvement, despite traffic problems, in a Class B over track and trip 2 weeks ago. Takes on a better bunch this time, and starts wide, but will have her supporters
- COSMEA – Had been enjoying a fruitful run of form until being trounced in a Cagnes Class D 2.5 weeks ago. Handed a tricky draw and is not about to create an upset
- KEMIA DU CHENE – 4th in Gr.3 Prix Oscar Collard last month before running 5th in a 2850m Class A 3 weeks ago. Is not a priority, and starts on 2nd line, but is useful over the trip and cannot be discounted
- DIABEL – Made amends for 19 December elimination when unlucky 3rd in a 2700m Class C here on Boxing Day. Won under these conditions in September but may be taking on too much this time
- RIKITA JP – In form and excels with her driver, most recently storming up in a Class A over course and distance early this month. Not ideally-drawn but still has a decent claim on the win
- IDOLE D’OURVILLE – Generous mare that ran 3rd in a Class B under these conditions a fortnight back but at this level will struggle to make her presence felt
- DALI PRAV – Makes 2nd Vincennes appearance after winning over a mile at San Siro on 28 December. Has pulled a rough number though and will have limited chances
- JEZABELLE BIE – Gr.1 monte winner that has been struggling with form over recent months and has nothing to contribute
Summary: Dependably performant at home in Italy, EMMA DEI VELTRI (4) will be shod to preference for her first competitive steps in France, entrusted to Eric Raffin for the occasion and, from the 4-spot can make this her own. RIKITA JP (13) has returned from her break in terrific form, produced her career-best chrono here on New Year’s Day, and will be dangerous if Matthieu Abrivard successfully negotiates the start. JOCONDE SIBEY (2) was unlucky in this race 12 months ago but is in her category and if fully fit is unlikely to let the side down. IDYLLE EXPRESS (6) benefits from a golden entry, is unbeaten in 3 Vincennes starts this winter, and will be no easy touch if applied.

C10 – PRIX MONI MAKER – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class A – Harness – EUR € 62,000 - MORETIME DU CAMPUS – Handy colt that facing a stiff test after coming 3rd in a 2175m Class D here mid-month and represents a minor place chance at best
- MAJOR DU BISTON – Opened Vincennes account at first time of asking and most recently ran 3rd behind MALUMA D’ANGIS (6) in a Class B last weekend. Shoes off this time but others still preferred
- MUSCLE DREAM – Useful colt making first start since last July and is going to need the outing
- MARADONA ELLIS – Moderate individual taking on some superior horses after 2 lacklustre runs here. Has been configured for the occasion but still not a concern
- MIKADO CASTELETS – In the frame in 3 after having imposed at Enghien in October. Did everything right here on 28 December and can again finish close
- MALUMA D’ANGIS – Improving sort that has taken decently to the main track. Steps further up in category after coming 2nd in a 2100m Class B here last weekend and, although not a priority, will be barefoot and should give an honourable account
- MONSIEUR AS – Easy 2nd to MINUTY DU GERS (11) in a Class B over course and distance on 29 November. Benefits from coming here fresh and, although unlikely to get his nose in front, can still pick up some place prizemoney
- MUST DE CHANLECY – 4th behind MIKADO CASTELETS (5) in a Class C over course and distance on 28 December, then imposed under similar conditions under the saddle 2 weeks ago. Goes barefoot for first time in the code and must be afforded respect
- MILORD JAVRONNAIS – Drops in class, switches code, and races barefoot for the first time, after taking on too much in a monte Gr.3 here 3 weeks ago. Was not disgraced on last harness outing though and should not be discounted
- MAD OF YOU – Dependability not his strong suit but has already imposed under these conditions. Raced better in a Gr.3 here recently than the result would suggest and, winner on his only start with Mathieu Mottier, will be afforded every chance
- MINUTY DU GERS – Progressive colt that has improved for every run this winter. Has yet to taste defeat over 2700m here and is unlikely to this time either
Summary: Unbeaten in 3 starts over course and distance, MINUTY DU GERS (11) outclassed the opposition on the last 2 occasions. He returns fresh to the venue and steps up in category but will be first-time unshod-behind and looks set to secure the hat-trick. MAD OF YOU (10) dips down the category-ladder after holding his own in a Gr.3 a fortnight ago, and with Mathieu Mottier in the bike clearly means business. Consistently in the thick of things and runner-up to a good colt here late last month, MIKADO CASTELETS (5) sports front pads and will justifiably garner significant support. Performant for the most part, MONSIEUR AS (7) will be competitively-shod for the first time and will be expected to contest a podium place.
