R1 VIRE [R-H]
C1 – PX VILLE DE VIRE NORMANDIE – PARIS-TURF – 2800m (a2m) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 34,000
- KASH DES CAILLONS – Reliability not his strong suit but has bags of ability. Was quickly eliminated in Bordeaux but is confirmed here, and David Thomain will be in the bike
- KIVALA RENARDIER – Denied a run in an Enghien Class E earlier in the month. Boasts fine right-handed credentials and can get a look in if Alexis Collette keeps her out of harm’s way
- KELLY JANE – Back under harness after running 4th in a Vincennes monte Class A on 20 February. Has never delivered racing right-handed but is barefoot this time and is easy to recommend for a place on the podium
- IXEL DE L’AUMOY – Placed at Nantes prior to running 5th in a Vincennes Class E 3 weeks ago. Failed to deliver in 2 Vire starts and is unlikely to spice things up
- KATCHI QUICK – Quality element that secured his first seasonal objective on 15 January, dominating a Vincennes Class C. Has not been seen since but will have been prepared for this and it is hard to see him being bested
- KOALA BLUE – Has gone from strength to strength over recent weeks, latterly winning a Caen Class D early this month, opening his right-handed account. In similar shape, Mathieu Mottier can be confident of a big run
- KUEEN’S PRIDE – Takes to Vire for the first time after clinching a 2850m Vincennes Class D mid-February. In better company this time but starts in front, has finished out of the first 2 just once in 13 clockwise starts, and must be taken seriously
- KORONA DELADOU – Got the year off to a victorious start before running 5th, ahead of KOALA BLUE (6), in a Vincennes Class B on 22 January. Is nicely-engaged on front row and, although not a priority, still cannot be discounted
- JUST A BOY D’ALESA – Useful on a good day and is shod to preference for 2nd start back, but still faces a stiff test
- KAVIARISSIME – Has failed this term to recapture earlier form. Makes first appearance for new trainer and is not about to cause an upset
- KELLE BEAUTE – Not the luckiest when 4th in a 2700m Vincennes Gr.3 on 22 February. Sports 4 pads this time, and starts on back row, but is plainly in fine shape and can play a role if kept out of trouble
- JOTUNN DU DOME – Very hard to knock when focused and is comfortable going either direction. Is unraced since early-January, and incurs the penalty, but has been exceptional for some time and warrants respect
- HIWI ROCQ – Undeniably talented but went off the boil last autumn and is still being conditioned
- INTOUCHABLE – Moderate kind but has not been seen out since 12 December and with shoes fitted will have nothing to offer
- HARDI CROWN – Starts for first time since running 6th in a Vincennes monte Class B on 14 January. Is well in on the back line but others still easier to support
- GYS – Starts for the first time since April 2025. Hind shoes off for the occasion but others still preferred
Summary: A good class of trotter that required little time to return to triumphant ways, KATCHI QUICK (5) stormed up at Vincennes just over 2 months ago, will be similarly shod and, already a winner going right-handed, will not be easy to oppose. KOALA BLUE (6) though has been doing nothing but improve lately and recently imposed racing clockwise. Barefoot after a foray under the saddle, KELLY JANE (3) is reunited with Eric Raffin who drove her to victory on their only association and will justifiably garner support, as will KASH DES CAILLONS (1) who ran 2nd in a Vincennes Gr.3 on his penultimate start. KUEEN’S PRIDE (7) steps up in category after imposing in Paris and brings with her a 59 percent win-rate.

C2 – PRIX OPTIQUE KRYS YANNICK PIERRE – VIRE – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class F – Harness – EUR € 17,500 - NITRO DEUGE – Has yet to show any particular aptitude for the game and can be passed over
- NEW STAR WIND – Showed improvement when 3rd in a 2675m Class F at Le Mont-Saint-Michel 10 days ago. Starts in front and will not be far from the action if she takes to the new profile
- NUAGEE MARANCOURT – Qualified nicely at Caen 3 weeks ago, then ran 3rd of in a Class F at Le Croise-Laroche on 7 March debut. Is nicely-placed on front line and although unlikely to get her nose in front, can nevertheless pick up a cheque
- NOBLE QUEEN – Tricky sort that produced a fine showing after blundering early, coming 5th in a 2450m Caen Class F 9 days ago. Mathieu Mottier stays faithful and will be eyeing victory this time
- NATION DOREE – Unexceptional filly making first appearance since September. Is well-placed in front but is likely to be a race shy
- NORMA CASTELLE – Eliminated in first 3 before running 4th in a Caen Class F a fortnight ago. Has a lot of ground to make up though and others preferred
- NIKITA DREAM – Well-beaten 7th behind NOBLE QUEEN (4) in a 2450m Caen Class F 9 days ago. Is competitively-shod this time though and can contest a place in the picture this time
- NEW GIRL DU MATIN – Flattering 4th on debut before finishing last of 11 behind NOBLE QUEEN (4) in a 2450m Caen Class F 9 days ago, and will have few friends
- NUNZIA SPERANZA – Nicely-related filly that should not be condemned for losing her action on debut 10 days ago. David Thomain is back in the bike and will be eager to put things right
- NEMESIA FLEURY – Qualified in 1’18’6 at Caen last October. Faces a tough bunch first time out and is not a concern
- NEW FAIRY – Beautifully-bred filly making career debut with considerable expectation and Alexandre Abrivard can be forgiven for being bullish
- NIKITA DRY – Qualified in 1’18’3 at Caen last July. Breaks on back row though and is not about to spring any surprises
- NINA DES TOUCHES – Looked decidedly ordinary in qualification last August and appears to have nothing going for her here
- NAOUSSA – Set off no fireworks in qualification last August. Has pulled a poor number on back line but will nevertheless have her supporters
- NO CHANCE DE MUZE – Has not been seen out since qualifying modestly at Caen last September and the draw will not help matters
- NINA GALAA – Qualified superbly at Caen in November but lost her action on debut at Le Croise-Laroche on 2 March. Looks an interesting future prospect and despite a tough draw can still make her presence felt
Summary: Most impressive at Caen recently after having lost considerable ground at the start, NOBLE QUEEN (4) enjoys a good spot behind the car and is easy to fancy for the win. NUNZIA SPERANZA (9) is forced to break on the second row but showed her form at Le Mont-Saint-Michel despite being eliminated, and with application can start to come good. Respectable in qualification last spring, the blue-blooded NEW FAIRY (11) did not win the draw-lottery either but she has buckets of potential and will be well-supported. NIKITA DREAM (7) has yet to deliver either but she sports 4 pads for the first time and should logically show another side.

C3 – PRIX BAR-PMU DE L’HOTEL DE VILLE – AUNAY – 2800m (a2m) – Class E – Mounted – EUR € 23,000 - LOUXOR DE RIVERIE – Modest individual that was eliminated on sole start in the discipline, and considering current form, will have few takers
- L’IMPERATRICE – Switches to the monte code after a quintet of harness eliminations. Is proven in the ridden code but cannot be considered a priority
- LUTINE DU CEDRE – Disappointing 6th here in early-February before failing to fire at Lisieux last Saturday and is not about to create an upset
- KHEOPS D’AVA – Sports modified shoeing for first public appearance under the saddle. Guillaume Martin gets the nod and, while not expected to win this, can nevertheless hold his own and figure prominently
- KINBALL – Debuts in the discipline after a couple of months off. Is not the most courageous of horses and even with Victor Saussaye in the irons, will have too much to do
- LOURAGAN DU DIGEON – Got straight back in the game early this month with a convincing Laval Class F victory. Seldom disappoints for his jockey and looks eminently capable of repeating
- LAGOS DE VAL – In the frame in all 4 monte starts to date, latterly 3rd in a 2900m Challans Class F. Starts in front here and can bring the fight to LOURAGAN DU DIGEON (6)
- KRONOS DE COSSE – Back in the code after reassuring in a Challans harness Class G on 1 March. Hind shoes off this time but still faces a tough task
- KADOR SPIRIT – Back under the saddle on return from a short spell. Is competitively-shod but in this company looks outclassed
- KUZA DU BOUILLON – Somewhat capricious but does have respectable monte references. In this category though, will struggle to make her mark
- KENAVO RUSH – Reassuring 3rd in a Caen Class D on 2 March. Has little monte experience but is a generous trotter and will not be available at 45-1 this time
- LUCIOLA DE LOU – Has been a model of consistency since September. Held her own in a Bordeaux Class E in early-January, returns with freshness on her side, and even though on the 2nd row, is unlikely to be far off the mark
- KETCHUP – Won 4 of 6 before being put away for the winter. Goes particularly well for Christopher Corbineau and given the entry, looks a player
Summary: Most impressive winner on his comeback at Laval a fortnight ago, LOURAGAN DU DIGEON (6) has yet to deliver going clockwise but he has quite the motor and Alexis Collette knows him well. LAGOS DE VAL (7) has demonstrated considerable flair for the discipline, is barefoot for the occasion, and showed at Challans that his first win is near. Although 25m worse off, KENAVO RUSH (11) made up at Caen for his Saint-Brieuc elimination and drops back in category with a realistic chance of contesting the finish. Also incurring the handicap, LUCIOLA DE LOU (12) is barefoot for re-entry, has come close more than once under the saddle, and it is just a question of time before she gets her nose in front.

C4 – PRIX NETTO DECOR – VIRE NORMANDIE – 2150m (a1m1/4) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 20,000 - MOON LIGHT RIVER – Gives a good account for the most part and raced better at Vincennes last month than the result would suggest. Was subsequently eliminated at Enghien but reverts to her previous configuration and must be worth retaining
- MAMAORA DE LOU – Known more for her aptitude for the other code and has not raced since August, but is barefoot for re-entry and looks capable of playing an active role
- MELLYNGA – Showed bags of promise this time last year but subsequently lost her form. Made an unexceptional comeback in Paris and is unlikely to influence the outcome
- MOLLY WHITE – Is decidedly better than recent numbers would suggest. Has form with her driver and the new formula may be key to her redemption
- MAMZELLE DREAM – Has hardly put a foot wrong since starting to race barefoot. Could have finished closer at Caen recently had she kept trotting and on good behaviour can finish on the podium this time
- MY LOVELY EBONY – Sent for a holiday after imposing at Enghien last September. Has not been seen out since though and is going to need the run
- MY LUCK – Has not been seen out since running 2nd in a Vincennes Class D last August. Will have been prepared for this though and can play a leading role if she turns
- MISS DE LA FERME – Unsupported when eliminated at Vincennes early last month. Has won just one of 4 clockwise starts and even though reconfigured is unlikely to shake things up
- MADRAGUE DAIRPET – Respectable for the most part but was eliminated on re-entry at Laval a week ago and is not about to trouble the judge
- MIA STEJELO – Consistently performant filly with fine right-handed references but, with shoes fitted, looks less competitive this time
- MIRELLA DE LOU – Eliminated after suffering interference in a Caen Class E last Thursday. Is not known for her reliability but with front shoes off and David Thomain back in the bike, can impose
- MARIBEL MAGNIFIQUE – Capable on a good day but is yet to have one this year and others easier to trust
- MIRZA DU BOUILLON – Moderate filly making first appearance since last August. Has been handed a rough draw and can be confidently passed over
Summary: MIRELLA DE LOU (11) suffered interference when going well at Caen last week, is shod as she was that day, and David Thomain will be out to set the record straight. He will still be mindful of the talented MY LUCK (7) who returns to competition with a seemingly good hand to play, and the well-positioned, and reconfigured, MOLLY WHITE (4) who is reunited with Alexandre Abrivard who went close with her in late-January. MAMZELLE DREAM (5) has shown improvement since starting to race barefoot and is easy to like for a place in the picture.

C5 – PRIX DU BAR-PMU AU VIEUX PUITS – VILLERS – 2800m (a2m) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 23,000 - MEWTWO – Well-regarded colt that raced just twice in 2025. Has not been seen out since September but will have a lot to offer if sound and fit
- MANONEGRA – Returns to racing right-handed after 5 months off. Has never failed to deliver going clockwise, is barefoot for the first time, but is expected to need the race
- MOSCANTIDA PEAL – Honest filly that ran 2nd in an Enghien claimer last week, her first start since December. Takes on a tougher task this time and chances appear limited
- MISTRAL JANEIRO – Went into his winter break on a high note and was given an easy return run at Caen early this month. Will have progressed for the race, sports front pads for the first time, and should not be overlooked
- MAJOR MESLOIS – Has done little of note since winning an Enghien claimer last October and, even with shoes off, still looks an outsider
- MILLIONDOLLARSBABY – Has ability but has never raced right-handed. Has run just once since November and others easier to back this time around
- MY LOVE ALWAYS – Not easy to knock when focused. Has won twice racing clockwise, sports pads for the first time, but looks no more than a minor place prospect
- MUSIQUE CLASSIQUE – Unplaced in both return runs in Paris last month. Clearly has bags of ability and, if sufficiently fit, can get back in the game
- MALIUM – Put a host of poor runs behind him to comfortably win a 2700m Vincennes Class E 3 weeks ago. Top driver back in the bike and can win this if he keeps his charge focused
- MAGIC INSTINCT – Back racing clockwise after a modest stint in Paris over the winter months. Is confirmed racing right-handed though and should be taken seriously
- MAESTRO – 19 runs and yet to lose his maiden status. Has placed just twice in 11 right-handed races and is unlikely to garner much support
- MELKIOR CASTELLE – Eliminated as often as not but seldom disappoints when applied. Is untried at Vire but should appreciate the new profile and can figure prominently
- MICHEL MARTIN – Returns to racing with shoes after finishing 3rd in a 2100m Vincennes Class D on 6 February. Presents good clockwise credentials, is well-engaged, and Alexis Collette will be keen to get back his colt back in the game
- MAGIE MESLOISE – Has not been seen out since winning a 2100m Vincennes Class E on New Year’s Day. Is shod this time though and best to wait
Summary: MALIUM (9) may be a handful at the best of times but his ability is not in question. Easy winner at Vincennes, he is reunited with Eric Raffin who has already imposed with him, and with application will take all the beating. The champion driver will still be keeping a watchful eye on the well-engaged, and shod, MICHEL MARTIN (13) who has solid references to back him up, and the complicated MELKIOR CASTELLE (12) who went close on his sole association with Benjamin Rochard. MUSIQUE CLASSIQUE (8) has a pair of return runs in her, is hard to knock when focused, and it will not be long before she gets back to her best.

C6 – PRIX DES MESSAGERIES LAITIERES – VIRE – 2800m (a2m) – Class E – Mounted – EUR € 30,000 - KENOBI D’HERFRAIE – Honest for the most part but eliminated in last 2 and will first need to reassure
- KENENISA SKILL – Seldom gets her nose in front but has been firing on all cylinders for some time. Would be preferred barefoot but in current condition is easy to like for a minor place cheque
- JULIANA BREIL – Respectable 5th in a Caen Class G a fortnight ago and benefits from a front-line start this time. Is not a priority but has been re-shod and with Benjamin Rochard in the irons will be afforded every chance
- KAP ORNE – Gave a fine account early last month when successful in a Vincennes Class D. Won his last 2 with Victor Saussaye and should again figure prominently
- GUOPECK DE VIVOIN – Has done nothing of note in either code since November 2024 and has no possible chance
- HARRYBEAU DE COUET – 3rd in a Vincennes Class D on 6 February but failed to repeat 9 days later. Has no particular love for Vire but cannot be entirely ruled out either
- IQUITO PLANCHETTE – Unremarkable trotter in the monte code. Sports front pads this time and can be ignored
- KAVALA DE PADD – Serious mare taking first competitive monte steps after running 3rd in a Saint-Galmier harness Class D on 16 February. Went close in 2 of 3 starts in the day’s configuration and will have her chances if focused
- IMPARTIAL – Eliminated in a 2925m Cagnes Class D 3 weeks ago after having pleased under harness in Toulouse. Guillaume Martin takes over in the saddle and warrants respect. First 5
- JOKER DE FROULAY – Just pipped in an Enghien Class D on 10 March. Has won 3 times right-handed under the saddle and Mathieu Mottier will like his chances. Attention
- JUPITER DU CORTA – Takes a dip in category after running 6th in a Vincennes Class B on 7 January. Has found a 2nd wind since switching codes and in present shape should be good enough to win this
- JIMINY CRICKET – Generous trotter with superb monte credentials. Goes as well left-handed as right- and can give JUPITER DU CORTA (11) something to think about. Chance
Summary: A fine campaigner that goes particularly well for Eric Raffin, JUPITER DU CORTA (11) makes his Vire debut in rude health and has a realistic claim on the spoils. Even better-engaged here, JIMINY CRICKET (12) will be shod as he was for his good Bordeaux re-entry and, hard to knock with Alexis Collette aboard, will be no soft touch. JOKER DE FROULAY (10) just missed out at Enghien last week and Mathieu Mottier will be eager to put things right. Gr.2-placed in the other code, KAVALA DE PADD (8) debuts in the discipline competitively-shod and can make a big splash if ability transitions.

C7 – PRIX PMU LE BISTROT SAINT JEAN – FLERS – 2800m (a2m) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 23,000 - LORD DE JAFA – Has ability but can prove a handful. Stays shod for re-entry following a decent rest and others easier to back this time
- LOVER DES BROUSSES – Showed early promise but was forced to spend a lengthy period on the sidelines and will need to re-establish his credentials
- LOBAYE – Showed considerable potential last season, winning 3 of 5. Has not been seen out since November but has decent clockwise credentials and can play a small role
- LALDO LOUZEEN – Honest sort with a pair of return runs under his belt. Won here in the autumn, and will be barefoot this time, but appears to be out of his league
- LOVELY BRUYERE – By no means the worst horse here but is not the easiest to use. Has no Vire references and even from the front row will struggle to make her presence felt
- LATINO DE CANCHY – Kicked the year off with Argentan success followed by running 2nd over course and distance. Pulled-up at Nantes next time but returns to racing right-handed, sporting a fresh configuration, and will be no shrinking violet
- LUCKY LUKE DANOVER – Steps up in category after winning a 2450m Castillonnes Class F 10 days ago. Is shod for Vire bow though and appears to be biting off more than he can chew
- LEADER STREET – Gave an encouragingly good account on re-entry at Paray-le-Monial on 22 February. Looks the best horse on the front line, will be reunited with David Thomain, and has a reasonable chance of making first 5
- LUCKY RENARD – Useful sort that presents solid Vire credentials. Takes on a better lot this time but is worth keeping an eye on all the same
- LABEL MAGIC – Has shown promise but at a considerably lower level and will have limited prospects on first start since October
- LICORNVERASPERANZA – Won 2 in a row before being sent for her autumn break. Is shod for return and best to keep one’s powder dry
- LOVE ME DO MESLOIS – Has endured something of an interrupted career but is still better in the other code and can be passed over
- LOULOU DE L’AUNAY – Gave a surprisingly good account on comeback when 3rd in a 2200m Caen Class E on 2 March. Would normally not be considered a leading protagonist but in present shape is easy to like for a place in the frame
- LUXOR D’AUVILLIER – Starts for first time since late-November. Goes as well right-handed as left- and it will not be long before he gets his nose in front
- LORD SUN DRALIAM – Never far from faulting but otherwise always gives his best. Benefits from a good entry on the 2nd row and even with shoes fitted will not be too far from the action
- LUMIERE BLUE – Unbeaten in 2 starts this term, both racing right-handed. Trainer could not have asked for a better entry and Mathieu Maignan will be expected to make hay
Summary: Wonderfully engaged at the limit of earnings, LUMIERE BLUE (16) got straight back in the game on re-entry before confirming 10 days later. She is new to Vire but given her versatility must be considered a serious proposition. LOULOU DE L’AUNAY (13) stays shod after running 3rd on re-entry at 86-1 and will generate considerably more support this time around. LUXOR D’AUVILLIER (14) is still chasing that elusive first win but consistently gives his best and is proven at the venue. LORD SUN DRALIAM (15) benefits from a good entry, will be fresh for the occasion, and even though shod still looks a player.

- HASHTAG SIMONI – Solid in last 2 runs at Vincennes, most recently 5th in a Class C over 2850m. Has no right-handed references but is a serious sort for the most part and should not disappoint. Place chance
- MAX OCCAGNES – Has 2 return runs in him following the short break. Imposed last time going right-handed and will be competitive once more
- KESITO D’URVILLE – Has just the one run under his belt since the spell. Has a particular liking for Vire and from the 4 slot will be no pushover
- INTREPIDE DES BOIS – Enjoyed a fruitful autumn before losing his way. Has 2 runs under his belt this term but races shod and can be ignored
- INVISIBLE SUN – Kicked French career off with 2 straight victories but out of luck in next 3. Eric Raffin back in the bike though and can pick up a cheque if he keeps his charge focused
- MAKE IT A STAR – Enjoyed an excellent autumn before coming off the boil. Is barefoot following her re-entry run in Paris and has the wherewithal to get in on the action
- ELEONORA GRIF – Fine servant making first appearance since late-December. Sports front pads for return and best to hold off
- GLOBAL ENJOY – Unlucky at Vincennes last month when full of running, before taking on too much at Enghien next time. In this category, and in this company, will not be far from the action if focused. Attention
- JULLOU – Enjoyed decent form last autumn but subsequently came off the boil and will have nothing to offer
- EL DORADO BAR – Serious sort that boasts a 50 percent win-rate when barefoot. Was most impressive last time out and even from the 2nd row can double his money
- PORTOFINO (SWE) – Left a good impression in Vincennes bow in early-January but has failed to make the grade in 3 since and will need to get his house in order
- FUSION EAGRA – Ran 3rd in January’s Vincennes debut before flopping behind HASHTAG SIMONI (2) on 16 February. Starts on back line and although not a priority, is still worth monitoring
- JUDGE DREDD SISU – Moderate trotter making first appearance since 18 December, Is barefoot for comeback but others still easier to back
- KLINGER (NOR) – Has shown considerably better aptitude for the monte discipline and in present form will have few friends
- EDIMA – Has been rather disappointing since leaving the nordics, has been handed an unenviable number, and can be passed over
Summary: Authoritative winner at Vincennes on just his second start back, EL DORADO BAR (11) breaks from the back row here. He won his only right-handed start since coming to France and in current condition has every chance of repeating. That being said, MAX OCCAGNES (3) enjoys a terrific draw, has never failed to fire going clockwise, and looks the main threat. HASHTAG SIMONI (2) is plainly nearing his best and will have his chances if he turns. KESITO D’URVILLE (4) has not got his nose in front since imposing here in October 2024 but is wonderfully-entered, runs barefoot, and Paul-Antoine Delacour will be determined to take advantage of the opportunity.

Summary: An interesting start to the card with six unraced runners carded. WITCHWAY (1) catches the eye on breeding and represents a strong combination in Patrice Cottier and Jean-Pierre Dubois. He would not be a surprise winner. The filly BODY PHYSICAL (6) is well bred and should be a challenger for top honours. FRENCH COLORADO (2) has more experience than that rival and will not go down without challenging for top honours. ALEXANDER MAXIMUS (5) is fit and has every chance of completing a treble of wins. EL TIGRE (4) won towards the back end of last year but his runs after that haven’t been too great although he has dropped to a competitive mark once again which could see him earning. BELHARRA TOWN (15) returns off a layoff but remains with scope for improvement and should challenge here.

Summary: TIGRE ROUGE (2) just failed to put his best foot forward over the extended trip last time out and is now back over the same track and trip which saw him run a cracking second two starts back. He should feature strongly. JARDIN BLEU (13) is best forgiven for an under par latest effort and when judged on prior form, he will be a serious contender. MARIE DE PRUSSE (1) showed solid improvement last time out and if she’s in the same heart then she will be a factor. THECLIMB (7) has the right type of form to mount a threat here and will be challenging at the finish.
