Fine Form
Constitution Hill KM – 7.30
can make another giant step forward in his new career on the Flat in the Virgin Bet Novice Stakes at Kempton.
The nine-year-old sparkled at Southwell last month when running on the level for the first time in the hands of champion jockey Oisin Murphy, claiming a comfortable nine-and-a-half length win.
That left trainer Nicky Henderson and owner Michael Buckley with a tough decision to make with the Champion Hurdle approaching at the Cheltenham Festival.
Constitution Hill had fallen in three of his last four hurdle runs and that proved pivotal in the decision to bring an end to his National Hunt career to focus on a future on the Flat.
With Murphy suspended, Ryan Moore steps up to the plate but he should have little more than a steering job to set the gelding up for plenty of options looking ahead to the summer.
Hamaleel KM – 7.00
can get herself back on the winning trail in the Virgin Bet A Good Bet Handicap for Archie Watson and Hollie Doyle.
She broke her maiden at the Sunbury circuit in January, making all as she took advantage of a three-and-a-half month break to come home three-quarters of a length clear of the field.
The daughter of Palace Pier was then beaten on her reappearance at Wolverhampton after an inconvenienced start but can put that behind her on a track she has finished inside the top two on both of her previous visits.
Homme De Fer KM – 5.30
has enjoyed a remarkably consistent spell over late summer, autumn and winter and can maintain that with victory as he steps up to a mile in the first division of the Virgin Bet Handicap.
The Oasis Dream gelding has never been outside of the top four in 10 all-weather outings including two victories and with regular pilot William Carson doing the steering, he can again get his nose in front when it matters.
Filly Foden LI – 3.22
is the selection to put a disappointing run at Wolverhampton on the last day behind her in the Daily Profit Boosts At betmgm.co.uk Fillies’ Handicap.
She lost the race in the stalls and eventually came home last of the seven runners but a line can be put through that run as she adds to an impressive record since switching to the care of Rod Millman.
Following Alice Haynes’ decision to call time on her training career late last year, the three-year-old moved to the Devon base of Millman and was was second and third on her first starts for her new handler.
But she then held on by a neck to break her maiden at the 16th time of asking at Southwell in January and quickly followed it up here at Lingfield before her mishap at Wolverhampton.
But back down to a mark of 72 she can prove that the last day can be written off.
Belle Of Kt LI – 3.52
can complete a quickfire double in the first division of the Midnite, Building The Future Of Betting Classified Stakes.
After eight unsuccessful outings, he finally got it right 15 days ago at Wolverhampton and put up only 1lb can go back-to-back.
Wal Buck’s HX – 3.41
can defy joint top weight in the Bk Racing Hexham Marathon Handicap Chase.
He will tackle four miles for the first time and should benefit from the step up in trip after being outpaced on the run-in when last seen at Haydock earlier this month.
