Transactions To Keep Unbeaten Record For Stable At Wagga

It was an instant return on investment for the connections of Transactions who will have his second start for them in the Sheathers Painting Wagga Benchmark 66 (1000m) at Wagga today.
Transactions ($8 on TAB) won impressively at Corowa sweeping down the outside for jockey Damon Budler and trainer Rob Potter.
“He picked them up quickly in good time and I think he is a progressive horse who could end up in Highway grade,” Potter said.
“It was a learning experience for him first-up. He was previously in Victoria with the Freedman stable and had good form for this area.
“He has had a few issues and it was good to see him win the way he did because when you buy a horse online you don’t know exactly what you are going to get.”
Potter races Transactions – a son of former star sprinter Capitalist – with some friends including some new owners and stable regulars.
“Kevin Morse races horses with me and he has a share along with Damian Waller from Tasmania who is a first-time owner with me.
“The other owners have been in horses with me before and I feel they will have a lot of fun with Transactions,” he said.
“I think he will be best with his races spaced and he will get further ideally up to 1200 to 1300 metres.”
The topweight Hulm ($16) excels at this level and despite having 65.5kg – 4.5kg more than Transactions – he is primed for a strong showing.
Pretty Penguin ($16) ran second behind Transactions at Corowa and meets it half a kilogram better at the weights.
Caravanserai ($21) raced well in his first campaign with the Natalie Jarvis stable winning three times and finishing second four times from 10 starts.
The stable recently retired stable mainstay Kattegat who won 10 races for them in a six-year career.
Potter will also start Blow In ($15) in the Commins Hendriks Benchmark 82 (1400m) and Bosco ($6) in the Union Club Hotel Benchmark 58 (1200m). Blow In is overdue for a win with Potter after four seconds.
“He has been so close to winning for us. He comes back in grade after being close up at his past two starts at Kembla Grange,” he said.
Blow In has also been midfield in the Bega Cup and Moruya Cup and with a soft track predicted at Wagga, Potter hopes it is his turn.
“It’s unfortunate he has drawn the outside barrier, but he gets back anyway,” he said. “The track is going to be wet and he loves it.” “Bosco has won two of his five starts and is on the improve all of the time,” according to Potter. Bosco will be ridden by apprentice jockey Claire Ramsbotham after receiving 61kg.
“He is getting up in the weights and improving all of the time. There is form around his wins with Molteno (second) winning at Goulburn,” he said.
“He has settled down a lot this campaign. He bolted in at Moruya and was very good winning at Cowra.”

Potter has had a successful and consistent season and is keen to see one of his trump cards Laurel Hill return to racing heading towards a possible start in the Wagga Town Plate.

“She showed in her trial win she has come back better than ever,” he said. “I have been happy with how consistent our horses have been racing.”

The statistics tell the story with 74 of his 125 starters having finished in the top five.
