R1 VINCENNES [L-H]
C1 – PRIX SIRRAH – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class C Race – Harness – EUR € 68,000
- ICARE DE PHYT’S – Back under harness after running 5th of 10 in a 2850m monte Gr.3 here 3 weeks ago. Not as sharp as he was late last season and others easier to back
- FALCOM DU BOCAGE – Has gone from strength to strength this term, most recently securing a 2100m Class D here last week. Unlikely to repeat, but can still finish close
- HURRICANE CARTER – Confirmed re-entry run when 4th of 16 behind HOBBES (10) in a 2850m Class D here 2 weeks ago. Hind shoes off this time and looks a serious proposition
- INSTINCT D’AM – Unseen since running 9th of 12 in a Class A over course and distance last October and will have nothing to contribute
- FINGER DES BORDES – Sports a new configuration after being sanctioned in a 2300m Marseille-Borely Class B a weeks ago and has no realistic chance
- IMPLORA MAUZUN – Ran 2nd on comeback in Lyon before finishing last of 11 in a 2950m Vichy Class D 11 days ago. Goes barefoot this time, is reunited with Alexandre Abrivard, and should not be far from the action
- GRAND ROI KALOUMA – Redeemed himself for March sanction when making short work of a 2850m Class D here on 25 April and a repeat is well within his capacity
- HOTLINE DE CARSI – Out of the picture in all 3 starts this year, most recently 9th of 11 finishers in a 2800m Strasbourg Class D last week, and can be ruled out
- HOCHE – 8th of 9 finishers, on return to competition, in a 3225m Vitre Class A on 27 April. Races barefoot for the occasion, steps marginally up in category, and should not be ruled out
- HOBBES – Capricious but capable sort that ran 2nd of 16 in a 2850m Class D here 2 weeks ago. Has already won 4 times under these conditions and on good behaviour will be a tough nut to crack
- GAI MATIN – Ran 4th at Castillonnes before being sanctioned in a 2950m Vichy Class D on 12 May and is unlikely to spring a surprise
- HARDI CROWN – Back under harness after coming 4th of 13 in a 2875m Enghien monte Class C on 19 April. Is in his category, will be reined by Mathieu Mottier, and is not to be overlooked
- HAIDA SAUTONNE – 8th of 16 in a 2150m Enghien Class C on 19 April. Marc Sassier could not have asked for a better entry though and, already twice a winner here this season, must be afforded respect
Summary: Out of the picture in 2024, HOBBES (10) got back in the game here a fortnight ago and in similar shape can wrap this up. Franck Nivard will still be mindful of the remarkably consistent HURRICANE CARTER (3) who will be competitively shod following a pair of solid return runs, and the complicated but talented GRAND ROI KALOUMA (7) who won in style here on 25 April. Exceptional so far this season, FALCOM DU BOCAGE (2) has yet to be tested over 2700m here but has taken well to the main track and will be no pushover.

C2 – PRIX CAECILIA – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Gr3 Race – Harness – EUR € 70,000 - NGANNOU – 4th of 10, at 49/1, in a Class B under these conditions last week but a repeat seems most unlikely
- LIVE TO TELL – Won over track and trip on 12 April before running 3rd of 14 to LANCIER DU GOUTIER (3) in a Class B over course and distance 2.5 weeks ago. Takes on an even better lot this time but still looks competitive for a cheque
- LANCIER DU GOUTIER – Imposed at Caen early-March before confirming in a Class B over course and distance 2.5 weeks ago and, more competitively shod this time, could yet pull off the 3-timer
- FERAHAN AS – Bit off too much when 7th of 9 in a 2450m Caen Gr.3 a fortnight back and is unlikely to shake things up this time either
- LASH PERRINE – Disappointing on the whole this year, latterly sanctioned in a Class A under these conditions a month back, and can be disregarded
- LORD DE LOIRON – Unlucky not to have finished closer than 5th of 12 behind LOVER MAN (9) in a Class A under these conditions on 25 April. Races barefoot this time and with application could well get a look-in
- LORD DU GERS – Generous colt that ran 2nd of 14 to LANCIER DU GOUTIER (3) in a Class B over course and distance 2.5 weeks ago. JMB in the bike this time and steps up in category with a decent chance of making first 5
- ORION DRAGON – Makes first foray into France after running 2nd of 6 over 2100m at Victoria Park a fortnight back. Benjamin Rochard reining this time but still no more than a minor place chance
- LOVER MAN – Ultra-consistent colt that ran close 2nd of 12 in a Class A under these conditions on 25 April. Showed at Enghien what he can do when barefoot and can make this his own
- LUDIVINE – Won 2 of 3 before coming 4th of 13 behind LILAS CASTELLE (15) in a 2850m Class A here early last month. Imposed on lone start with Alexandre Abrivard but others still look more competitive
- LUNA NOVA GWEN – Has not been seen out since coming 6th of 11 finishers in a Gr.2 over course and distance last November and is not about to cause an upset
- FAKIR ROC – Has not been seen out since coming 5th of 9 finishers in 2100m Gr.1 Derby Italiano in Rome last October. Has obviously been prepared for this and must be considered a contender
- LOVE LETTER – Ran 2nd of 13 in a Gr.3 over course and distance 3 weeks ago. Champion driver in the bike and should prove main danger to LOVER MAN (9)
- FEUDALE DEGLI DEI – Won 2 on the trot last month before coming 4th of 12 over 2140m in Gothenburg 3 weeks ago. Fitted with pads this time but the engagement of Yoann Lebourgeois can compensate. Attention
- LILAS CASTELLE – In the frame in last 2, most recently 3rd of 13, a place behind LOVE LETTER (13), in a Gr.3 over course and distance 3 weeks ago. Shoes back on though and other more attractive options available
Summary: Excellent 3rd in an Enghien Gr.2 last month before missing out by little over course and distance 6 days later, LOVER MAN (9) returns to racing barefoot and is going to take all the beating. Leading the opposition’s charge, LOVE LETTER (13) most recently ran 2nd in a Gr.3 under these conditions and has been entrusted to Eric Raffin for the first time. Italian raider FAKIR ROC (12) has not been seen out since October but will be reined by Matthieu Abrivard for the occasion and must be taken seriously. Winner under these conditions earlier in the month, LANCIER DU GOUTIER (3) sports modified shoeing and is not to be underestimated.

C3 – PRIX MUTUS – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 59,000 - GISARO – Sanctioned in last 5 starts, most recently a 2800m Chartres Class F on 7 May. Pads fitted this time and has no possible chance
- HELECHO – Well-beaten 6th of 10 in a 2875m Meslay-du-Maine Class E 2.5 weeks ago and can be confidently disregarded
- IVANA DES RACQUES – Races barefoot for first time in almost 3 years after coming 4th of 10, a place behind IF I TELL YOU (14), in a 2825m Class E at Le Croise-Laroche 11 days ago. Is plainly in good shape and can play an active role
- FREEDOM (NOR) – Quality element that ran 3rd of 10 in a Class D under these conditions 3 weeks ago, on first start since the spell. Will have come on for the race and Olivier Raffin can be confident of another competitive run
- BOCCADAMO – Has not been seen out since running 5th of 13 in a 2150m Mauquenchy Class D on 17 March. Out of the picture in last 5 Vincennes starts and will have few friends
- DONIZETTI (SWE) – Good 2nd of 9 in a 3000m Marseille-Borely Class E on 4 May, on first start for 5 months, but has little to no chance of repeating
- GLAMOUR YOMA – Failed to confirm Lyon-Parilly performance when 10th of 15 in a 2150m Toulouse Class C a week ago. Shoes on this time and can be passed over
- IZIA DE MONGIVAL – Failed to secure the hat-trick when 2nd of 18 in a 2950m Le Mans Class E a fortnight ago. Appreciates these conditions and in current form is easy to like for a place on the podium
- G.K.JUSTUS – Sanctioned in last 2, latterly a 2625m Class B at La Rochelle on 11 May, and has little chance of making any impact
- DOLLAR DOC – 7th of 9 finishers in a 2625m Class B at La Rochelle on 11 May. Has placed just once in 4 here and is not a concern
- ISERIA GRIFF – Won at Saint-Omer prior to running disappointing 5th of 10 behind IF I TELL YOU (14) in a 2825m Class E at Le Croise-Laroche 11 days ago and is not about to cause an upset
- ISYBOY DE CINGLAIS – Oddly below-par 6th of 13 in a 2100m Class D here on 18 April. Is considerably better than the result would suggest and JMB will be keen to set the record straight
- IGUANE DE CAPONET – Sanctioned in a 2850m Laon Class E on 1 May, his first start for 8 months. Has numerous factors in his favour this time and with application can bring home the bacon
- IF I TELL YOU – 3rd of 10 in a 2825m Class E at Le Croise-Laroche 11 days ago. Known more for his claiming credentials but in present form is easy to like for a minor place cheque
- ISIS D’HERFRAIE – 9th of 16 when preparing for this in a 2850m Laval Class D late last month. Competitively shod this time and has a realistic chance of imposing
Summary: A good servant when focused, IGUANE DE CAPONET (13) has a return race under his belt, is reunited with Yoann Lebourgeois, is shod to preference, and can impose. The pair will still come under pressure from the well-entered ISIS D’HERFRAIE (15) who has won her last 2 in the day’s configuration, and ISYBOY DE CINGLAIS (12) whose driver, Jean-Michel Bazire, will be out to put things right. Not once out of the frame in her last 10 barefoot starts, IZIA DE MONGIVAL (8) has grown into the Vincennes 2700m profile and is unlikely to let the side down.

- ZOOM DIAMANT – Makes Vincennes debut after imposing over 2000m in Gelsenkirchen 3 weeks ago. Hind shoes off this time and the engagement of Pierre-Yves Verva will do his prospects no disservice
- KEY OF LOVE – 4th of 13, at 129/1, in a 2700m Class C here a month back although a repeat seems most improbable
- EXPRESS D’ARC – Drops to a more reasonable level after coming 6th of 11 in a 2875m Enghien Class A on 19 April. Boasts a fine record under these conditions and can again figure prominently
- KRACOVIA – Tricky character that ran 8th of 10 finishers behind KOUFRA IRIS’EYES (14) in a 2875m Enghien Class B on 30 April. JMB in the bike this time but others still preferred
- ERNESTO ROC – Out of the picture since securing a Gr.3 last January, most recently 9th of 12 to NELSON GREENWOOD (10) in a 2875m Enghien Class B late last month, and can be passed over
- KEY LADY – Returns to her track of preference after coming 6th of 10 finishers behind KOUFRA IRIS’EYES (14) in a 2875m Enghien Class B on 30 April. Pads fitted this time and unlikely to get her nose in front, but can nonetheless get a look-in
- KARMA – Got the year off to a victorious start but disappointing since, latterly sanctioned in a 2850m Maure-de-Bretagne Class C a month ago, and others easier to back
- KATAR – Decent element making first appearance since being sanctioned in a Class B under these conditions mid-December. Hind shoes back on and even with Mathieu Mottier reining will struggle to make his mark
- NELSON GREENWOOD – In the frame in 4 straight before dominating a 2875m Enghien Class B on 30 April. Has never failed to deliver here when barefoot and has a realistic chance of opening his Vincennes account
- CAVIAR FROM MINE – Won 2 in a row before coming 4th of 12 to NELSON GREENWOOD (10) in a 2875m Enghien Class B on 30 April. Boasts solid main-track credentials and will be expected to contest the finish
- ENOCK – Surprise 4th over course and distance on 11 April before being pulled-up, when never dangerous, in 30 April race of reference and can be ruled out
- KESITO D’URVILLE – Unraced since finishing 6th of 9 in a Class B over track and trip on New Year’s Day. Shoes on and no threat
- KOUFRA IRIS’EYES – Surprise 3rd in a Gr.2 here before coming 4th of 10 finishers in a 2875m Enghien Class B late last month. Is plainly in rude health and can again make first 5
- KENO PETTEVINIERE – Pleasant over track and trip early-April before running 7th in 30 April race of reference. Is better than the result would suggest and must be respected
- JUST A LADY (DEN) – Quality Danish import making first start since finishing 13th of 16 behind ERNESTO ROC (6) in a Class B over track and trip 2 months ago. Will be fresh and with shoes off is unlikely to disappoint
Summary: Always well-regarded at home, NELSON GREENWOOD (10) has come into himself over recent months and a repeat of his Enghien performance would see him double his money. 4th to him that day when bidding for the hat-trick, CAVIAR FROM MINE (11) leads the opposition in company with the superbly-engaged and barefoot JUST A LADY (DEN) (16) who imposed under these conditions in February. EXPRESS D’ARC (4) has won 2 of his 3 starts over course and distance and drops in category with a good hand to play.

- INO DU LUPIN – Would have finished 4th in 2450m Gr.2 Prix des Ducs de Normandie in Caen on 10 May had he not faulted. Boasts an enviable win-rate and on good behaviour can bring the fight to INEXESS BLEU (7)
- FACE TIME – 2nd to INEXESS BLEU (7) in Gr.2 Prix Kerjacques here on 5 April before quickly losing his action in 2450m Gr.2 Prix des Ducs de Normandie in Caen on 10 May, but will be no easy touch if he gets off on the right foot
- FAKIR DE MAHEY – Lost his action in 2150m Gr.1 Prix de l’Atlantique on 19 April. Is Gr.1-placed this year and has the wherewithal to make first 5

- INA DU RIB – Classy mare making first start since running 8th of 10 in a 2850m monte Gr.1 here on 1 March. Is shod for re-entry and unlikely to spice things up
Summary: Winner of his last 7 races, most recently a Gr.2 with authority, it will take something special to beat INEXESS BLEU (7). Leading the charge behind him are the tough GASPAR D’ANGIS (8) who is back home following a fruitless trip to Gothenburg, and the useful INO DU LUPIN (4) who showed his form despite being sanctioned at Caen 2 weeks ago. FACE TIME (5) ran a fine 2nd to the Abrivard’s horse last month and with application can again finish in the mix.

C6 – PRIX POLLUX – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 46,000 - JACK DU CEBE – Comfortably won a Class D over course and distance on 29 April. Yet to be bested at Vincennes and is easy to fancy for a place in the frame
- IMHOTEP MADRIK – Unable to confirm Strasbourg success when 6th of 15 in a 2800m Vire Class D a fortnight back and cannot be considered a priority
- JACKMAN – Reassured at Rambouillet but sanctioned when never dangerous in a 2100m amateurs Class F here on Tuesday. Backs up barefoot, with JMB in the bike, and is not to be ruled out

- JOJO TOONS – Tenacious winner of a 2450m Caen Class D on 4 May. Has yet to win at Vincennes but in present shape is east to recommend for a first-3 finish
Summary: Complicated he may be but already 4 times a winner this year, JOSELITO DU VIVIER (5) returns to Paris on a 3-timer and with application can succeed. That said, JAGUAR DE LAUMAC (6) returned to winning ways late last month and a repeat is not out of the question. Unbeaten in 2 starts under these conditions, JACK DU CEBE (1) made it look easy last time and must be taken seriously. Winner at Caen earlier in the month, and confirmed over 2700m here, JOJO TOONS (10) will not be far off the mark.

- MYRTILLE MARBOULA – Returns to Paris after finishing 6th of 8 in a 2850m Lyon-Parilly Class C on 14 April and is unlikely to influence the outcome

- MY HAPPY STORY – Progressive filly that finished close 2nd of 8 in a 2850m Class D over inner course here early-April. Has not been seen out since but will have been prepared for this and must be considered a major player
Summary: A thorough professional to date, MODE VANILLE (1) tenaciously stayed on to score at Chartres earlier in the month and has the profile to win a race of this nature. Nicely-engaged here, MY HAPPY STORY (9) moves over to the main track after pleasing here early last month and is unlikely to go down easily. FLUTE EN SOL (11) has three unplaced runs of late, but back up in trip today is a positive and she can give a better account of herself. L’AGORA GAME (5) looks like a solid option each way, she was ahead of the selection at this track and trip when second last time on May 1st. KAHOOT (6) heads the shortlist.

LADY COOL (2) is another who performs well on the all-weather tracks and that puts her in contention.
