  1. OIA – Filly by Sommerabend, the dam won 7 races. She should come forward for this racecourse debut, unless the betting says otherwise

  3. MACUMBA – Filly by Time Test, the dam won 2 races. Could improve for this opening run. Watch the betting for clues
  4. ESTHETE – Filly by Almanzor, the dam won 2 races. From the Francis-Henri Graffard stable, who will have this youngster well tuned. Bold show expected
  5. POSSI – Newcomer by Goken, the dam won 1 race. Nice profile and the booking of Christophe Soumillon to ride is a bonus. Watch the betting patterns
  6. BURGUESINHA – Filly by Mehmas, the dam won 3 races including a Listed race. Well bred, and she will be nicely tuned. Must be respected and betting will offer more clues
  7. CHARMING CECILIA – Filly by Saxon Warrior, the dam was placed a few times. Should be well prepared by connections and can be given consideration
  8. PIANA – Unraced by Zelzal, the dam was placed a few times. Should improve for this experience. Unlikely to trouble the judge

  10. HOMMAGE A NADINE – Filly by Golden Horde, the dam won 3 races. Stable runners usually improve for a run or two. Others can be preferred
Summary: ESTHETE (4) is out of a smart mare who won twice, and her trainer will expect a bold show on her racecourse debut. She could have the most to fear from POSSI (5), who has a nice profile, and the stable does well with first-time out runners. The booking of Christophe Soumillon catches the eye. JEUDIXX (9) looks the part on paper and should know what is required on her first day at school. BURGUESINHA (6) is out of a useful mare who won at Listed class and could be smart.

Summary: ALI SHUFFLE (5) has scored on all three starts over 1000m. She likes to race handily and could be hard to peg back despite her first try at this trip. IMPERIAL ME CEN (3) is also stepping up in trip, he won by 2.5L in a Listed race at Vichy last time and looks like the main threat. MOOJEED (1) bumped into a useful performer when second at this track in a Class 3 race last time and can have a say at the business end.

  31. GO GO BLITZ – Placed on the last three runs, 4th at Munich-Riem (DEU) over 2200m on May 1st. Has work to do
Summary: DAMASK BLADE (4) has performed well on his last two runs, with the second at Vichy in mid-May being particularly encouraging. He looks ready to get back in the winner’s enclosure. COGOLIN (7) ran well to be second at Saint-Cloud late last month in a Class 3 handicap when he was beaten by KARIOITAHI (1) by three-quarters of a length. On more favourable terms, he can reverse placings. BONNIE HOPPS (9) could be an option each way after a win at La Teste.

  47. GOLD PLAYER – Three unplaced runs of late, well beaten at Lyon Parilly in a Class 3 handicap on May 8th over 1600m on his last outing. Hard to fancy
Summary: GANASS (11) has a decent racing weight and was a good fourth three runs back in a competitive Class 2 handicap at Parislongchamp in mid-April. His two recent runs have been below his best, and he is the tentative selection ahead of MORPHEWAN (1), who ran a decent race on the PSF when third in a Class 2 race late last month. He can make life difficult for the selection. CI MER (4) is one to include in all of the place bet permutations. She can make amends here and, on pedigree, should stay this longer trip. MANDANABA (2), just a length behind in third that day, is open to further improvement and poses the main danger. BEDTIME STORY (5) was sixth in that same race, but she’s settling better now and could get closer. Don’t ignore GEZORA (12), who should relish the step up in distance.

Summary: LET IT SNOW (1) looks hard to oppose in this field, especially after his last-start win. He is the runner they all have to beat but one cannot underestimate LUCKY ROSE (3) who has a lot going for him in this event, as well as LUSSAC DE VANDEL (11) who, although disqualified last time, was an impressive winner of his previous start and is still improving. Summary: The recent record of LUNA DE JOUDES (5) makes her the one to beat in this field but one cannot write off the chances of LISTEN VIP (12) who ran well in her first run back from a winter break and can only improve on that performance. If in the mood LATINKA (1) could trouble both of them and she also has the advantage of three decent runs at this course. LAURYN JIEL (10) rarely runs a bad race and that must give her some sort of chance.

  88. MADE IN CASTELETS – Finished 4th in a Class D over 2150m at Mauquenchy on 5 June. That was an improved performance but will still need more to feature
Summary: MOZART DAB (1) has not been seen out since January when disqualified, but he qualified with aplomb just prior and needs to be given credit for that. MARS COBBA (7) ran well enough in a decent field last time and must be in contention. MAKINA DANICA (6) has yet to notch a win but that cannot be far off and she needs to be respected. The same applies to MUSE DE MONTCEAU (8) who is rarely far off them and will be winning soon.
