C1 – PRIX LA ROCHETTE – 1400m (a7f) – TURF – Gr3 Race – Flat – EUR € 73,200

  1. VARDIF – Cozy winner over 1200m at Chantilly in a maiden on the 8th of July 2025. Plenty scope for improvement and will go well
  2. KOMOREBI – Winner over 1500m at Deauville in a Class 2 on the 5th of August 2025. Can run a big race here
  3. KENZEL – Finished last of seven in a Group 3 at Deauville on the 17th of August 2025. Ignore last and can go well
  4. NIGHTTIME – Comfortable winner over 1400m at Deauville in Listed company on the 6th of July 2025. Big runner
    Summary: VARDIF (1) enters this as a bit of an unknown quantity. He is open to any amount of improvement and with the step up in trip likely to suit, he could run a huge race straight out the maidens. NIGHTTIME (4) brings arguably the best form to the table having tasted success in a Listed race and naturally the next step is into a Group 3. He is the one to beat. KOMOREBI (2) drops back in trip for this assignment but has done nothing wrong and will mount a strong bid. KENZEL(3) needs to be forgiven for his latest effort and is far from out of it. It is a small field but there is quite a bit of talent on show.

  9. GREEN SPIRIT – Winner over 1400m at Deauville in a Group 3 on the 3rd of August 2025. Exciting prospect who could be going places
    Summary: GREEN SPIRIT (5) has done everything the right way to date and looks to make it 4-4. She looks to be a real talent and could most certainly remain unbeaten. NARISSA (1) has ground to find on the top choice but in a smaller field where pace will play a big role, she could be closer to make a real race of it and needs to be respected. PRINCESS PETROL (2) just found one too good last time out and shouldn’t be far off the top two in this line up. CLEA CHOPE (3) is best of the rest but will have her work cut out to challenge.

    Summary: SERPENTARD AA (6) has proved effective in both disciplines and following a comfortable success in his first go on the flat last time out, he could be absolutely anything and demands huge respect. FRANCE ANGLO’JAC AA (1) arrives in sparkling form as he goes in search off that hat-trick which is certainly achievable here. FLAMBOYANTE AA (3) is in solid hard knocking form and will be very competitive once again. MOMBASA AA (2) hasn’t been too far off the action and should be involved for the minor spots.

SUN RISE (10) is an improving sort who should relish the extra yardage and will be a major player for top honors. ALASTOR MAUGREY (8) has had his fair share of chances to get it right but keeps one interested on his form over this trip. KALAFA (11) ran with plenty of credit last time out and will likely feature strongly in this event.

    Summary: FLYING FREE (3) has previously raced against tougher and was far from disgraced last time out. He jumps from a neat draw and has plenty of improvement still to come which will hold him in good stead going forward. ALWAYS TIME (16) has been second best since the start of her career and she is knocking loudly for that maiden win which appears to be imminent. PRINCESSE D’AMOUR (7) is holding solid form as things stand and with a bit of luck in running, she is likely to have a major say in the outcome. AVANT L’ORAGE (2) hasn’t been disgraced in recent outings and will be involved in the shake up. SEA THE MAN (8) was only a maiden winner last time out but will have a lot more to offer and isn’t one to just dismiss.

    Summary: DOUBLE MAJOR (1) was a deserving winner off his latest and can double up here. He previously ran 5th in the Group 1 Prix Vicomtesse Vigier and is the horse that sets the standard in this event. BEL ET BIEN (3) is a steadily improving sort in the staying ranks who will be tested against a couple battled hardened gallopers in group company but should run well. GOYA SENORA (2) finds himself 2kgs better off at the weights with the top choice which could make things interesting. COETZEE (2) is best of the rest and can earn.

LUCY GALESTE (9) ran a cracker at her last outing when finding one too good and with Maxime Guyon in the irons once again, she should have every chance of going one better. ADLAN SENORA (10) produced a solid first up run out the maidens and remains with scope for improvement which should see him featuring. LUNALA (3) showed nice improvement at her most recent outing and can build on that to earn.

    Summary: SAN TEODORICO (1) partners up with Christian Demuro once again after he ran a creditable 3rd at his latest outing and should have every opportunity of going a couple placings better. ANGEL DUST (5) has just built on her form as the year has gone on and she now looks ready to win. DIWAN SENORA (4) is an old soldier that is still loving his racing at the ripe old age of 12. What you see is what you get from him and he should be involved. PIANTARELLA (2) is better than her latest outing and is liking to be very competitive once again.

  3. SAINT SIRE – Has struggled this year and was 14th in a handicap hurdle at Clairefontaine-Deauville over 3600m on 11 August. Did win twice last year and is capable of an upset
  4. KISSMAN – Has struggled of late and was unplaced in a conditions hurdle at Senonnes-Pouancé over 3600m on 2 August. Did better last year and is capable of earning some money
  5. JACK THOU LEZ – Very consistent in hurdles and was victorious in a conditions hurdle at Rochefort-sur-Loire over 4100m on 21 July. Can double up in this line-up
  6. MAGIC ELON – Has yet to win a race and finished 12th in a claiming hurdle at Auteuil on 8 May. Returns from a break but needs major improvement to win
  7. BIANKA DU BRIZAIS – Very consistent so far and was a winner last time out in a handicap hurdle at Saint-Malo over 3900m on 1 August. Fit and can follow up
  8. PRINCESSE DU LYS – Not disgraced when 5th in a handicap on the flat at Deauville over 2500m on 16 August. Could make the frame
  9. ILLICO DES LANDES – Had his first run since 2022 when unplaced in a conditions hurdle at Nantes over 3900m on 9 April. Returns from a break and should need this run.
    Summary: MICKDEBOMEC (2) returned from a break in fine form when scoring at Lyon-Parilly in May. He can follow up if in the same mood. JACK THOU LEZ (5) has been in good form this year and should fight out the finish. BIANKA DU BRIZAIS (7) is very consistent and won her only start this year; she can win again. NUMERUS BORGET (1) has not won since January last year but has run in better fields than this and must be respected.

  16. LA FELICITA – A well-beaten third on debut in a conditions hurdle at Vitré over 3800m on 1 June. Might play a minor role at best
  17. APRIL FLOWER – Has struggled this year and was 9th in a conditions hurdle at Clairefontaine-Deauville over 3400m on 27 August. Did win a claimer last year but others are preferred
  18. LOUISETTE – Did not show much in her first two starts, including when 9th in a claimer at Argentan over 1900m on 9 October 2024. Probably best watched for now
  19. MA SAYNTE BALME – A three-year-old filly by Bande out of Éléonore d’Anjou who is making her debut. Her dam won once in ten starts. Watch the betting.
  20. MALESSIA – Did not run too badly when 7th on debut in a conditions flat race at Les Sables-d’Olonne over 3450m on 7 August. Capable of improvement and could make the frame
  21. SHOKARA – Finished 6th in a conditions hurdle at Châteaubriant over 3550m on 12 May. Capable of improvement but others make more appeal
  22. GARYLIA TALISKER – A three-year-old filly by Gary du Chênet out of Brazilia Talisker who is making her debut. Her dam did not win a race after 18 starts. Watch the betting
    Summary: An interesting race where it may pay to side with the newcomers. POSITIF (3) has good German breeding behind him and gets a narrow vote to score on debut. MA SAYNTE BALME (10) is a filly making her debut for a trainer with a good record in these types of races. MALESSIA (11) looks likely to improve on her debut and can be a threat this time. MY FAVOURITE MIX (2) is a newcomer who catches the eye.

  31. ECTOT ONE – Returned from a break and finished fourth in a Conditions hurdle at Nantes over 3500m on 17 June. Fitter now and should contest the finish
    Summary: A competitive-looking race. HAPPY FAMILY (7) has been frustrating so far but got close to winning at Nantes and could go one better this time. LEADER CONTI (4) showed promise behind that rival on debut and is capable of improving to turn the tables. LE GRAND LUX (2) returns from a break but has run well in both starts and is clearly not out of it. ECTOT ONE (9) can also make the frame.

JACO LE GRAND (5) took no time getting back in the winners’ enclosure following a lengthy break and is sufficiently well-positioned to secure the hat-trick. Dynamic this year, JARVIS (6) should not be too hastily-judged for his latest effort and has every chance of getting back to his competitive ways.

  49. MAESTRO DES CLAIRS – Ran 3rd at Montier-en-Der but failed to repeat when last but one in a 2750m Class F at La Ferte-Vidame 2.5 weeks ago and will struggle to make his presence felt
  50. MERRY STAR – Eliminated in a 2100m Class F at Lyon-Parilly last week. Caught the eye at Divonne last month though and despite the draw can still get in on the action
  51. MARGOTIN – 12th of 13 behind MYROS DE PALMA AR (4) in a 2700m Class E at La Capelle on 26 August and has no realistic chance
    Summary: In the frame twice before failing to deliver at Vire, MOZART LA LONDE (3) finds himself ideally-placed behind the car here and can set the record straight. Martial Gilard will be justifiably wary though of MIRADOR PLANCHETTE (6) who should not he condemned for his recent Vincennes fault, and MYROS DE PALMA AR (4) who ran 3rd here early last month. MIROS (2) was not the most impressive on that occasion but is patently in shape and should find the Mauquenchy profile more to his liking.

  54. LIKE DAD – Disappointing this summer, most recently 6th of 11 in a 2775m Class E at Les Sables-d’Olonne mid-July. Comes here fresh but with limited ambition
  55. LOVAT – Has not been seen out since finishing 7th of 11, on re-entry, in a 2400m Amiens Class E on 26 May, and is going to need another run
  56. LOU DE LOSQUE – 5th of 15 in a 2700m Class F at La Capelle in late-July. Has previously won at the venue but cannot be considered a player
  57. LEFFE DU BRISSE – Goes left-handed for the first time after running respectable 6th of 16 in a 2800m Vire Class E 10 days ago. Is plainly better than that though and will be expected to give this a good go if she takes to the new profile
  58. LOOK DAIRPET – Showed improvement when 4th of 11 in a 2575m Reims claimer late last month but in this category will struggle to make his mark
  59. LILIUM TUILERIE – Returns to racing shod after finishing 6th of 9 in a 2750m monte Class E at La Capelle on 31 July, and will have nothing to offer
  60. LEAD ME ON – Good 4th of 10 on re-entry in a 2800m Strasbourg Class E a fortnight ago. Will have progressed for the race and from the front line can get in on the action
  61. LOVE ME DE DUSSAC – Put a pair of eliminations behind her to run 2nd of 14 in a 3025m Class F at Montier-en-Der 2.5 weeks ago. Could not have asked for a better entry and with application can finish close
  62. LITTLE LOVE – Modest colt that finished last of 13 in a 2750m Cabourg Class E 2 weeks ago, and will have nothing to contribute
  63. LUTIN DE LA FYE – Imposed under these conditions on 6 August before running 7th of 16 in a 2700m Class D at La Capelle 3 weeks later. Not a priority but not to be overlooked either
  64. LUCKY PORT – Quality element that ran 13th of 16 in a 2700m Class D at La Capelle on 26 August, his first start since last October. Stays shod and best to hold off
  65. LYRA DU METZ – Sprang a 20/1 surprise when 2nd of 8 finishers in a 2600m Divonne-les-Bains Class E 3 weeks ago. Similarly configured here and looks competitive for a top-5 placing
  66. LUCKY BOY VERTRAC – Drops to a more suitable level after running respectable 5th of 11 in a 2875m Enghien Class D a month ago, and looks main danger to LA MISS ROYALE (16)
  67. LA MISS ROYALE – Won over course and distance in late-July before running 4th of 10 in a 2100m Vincennes Class D on 23 August. Has a lot going her way here and, given the stable’s form, looks the winner-in-waiting
    Summary: The back row holds the key to this event with the terrifically-engaged LA MISS ROYALE (16) returning to racing with front pads in a bid to confirm July’s victory here. She will still come under pressure from the similarly well-entered LUCKY BOY VERTRAC (15) who drops back to a more reasonable level. Better than her latest results would suggest, LEFFE DU BRISSE (6) is 25m better off and will be dangerous if she turns. LOVE ME DE DUSSAC (10) got back in the game late last month and benefits from a front-row start this time around.

  70. KARMA DE RHEVE – Faces the toughest test of his career after running 4th of 12 in a 2600m Class F at Berck-sur-Mer a month ago but is simply not up to the task
  71. KAPRIUS DE PLAY – Valiant 4th of 13 in a Class F over course and distance early last month. Less competitively shod this time and others preferred
  72. KAPORAL WINNER – 4th of 7 finishers in a 2750m Class F at La Ferte Vidame 2.5 weeks ago. Front shoes off this time but at this level will have too much to do
  73. KOCARDE – Solid in last 2, latterly 4th of 7 in a 2650m Class F at Les Sables-d’Olonne a fortnight ago. Cannot be considered a priority but breaks in front and with application can pick up some prizemoney
  74. KING DE LA COTE – Unremarkable sort that was eliminated in a 2700m Class F at La Capelle last week and is not about to spring any surprises
  75. KRUNCH FOR MONEY – 13th of 15 in a 3175m Class F at La Roche-Posay on 23 August. Reliability not his strong suit but is clearly in form and from the front line can play a major part
  76. KHOR SAINT AUBIN – Unraced since finishing 10th of 13 in a 2875m Argentan Class F last January and even from the front row will have nothing to offer
  77. KANKAL – Has not been seen out since finishing 9th of 16 in a 2875m Enghien Class D in late-May and is going to need the race
  78. KADO SURPRISE – Has hardly put a foot wrong all year, latterly winning a 2725m Pornichet Class F on 14 August, and is thoroughly capable of getting his nose in front
  79. KUNZITE D’EM – Has not been seen out since coming 2nd of 15 in a Class E under these conditions in early-June. Barefoot for comeback but others still preferred
  80. KAVANI – Unremarkable 6th here before running 5th of 14 in a 2700m Vincennes Class E on 23 August. Forced to incur the penalty but cannot be ruled out
  81. KULTA – Lacklustre 9th of 11 in a 2875m Enghien Class D 2 months ago. Has had time to recalibrate but still looks out of her depth
  82. KAIROS DE BOMO – 6th of 13, on return to competition, in a 2650m Pornichet Class E 3 weeks ago. Will have come on for the race and, shod to preference, can play a prominent role
  83. KING AULNAIES – Eliminated in a 2900m Dozule Class E 3 weeks ago. Has previously won under these conditions and with his mind on the game will be no pushover
  84. KELOWA STARDUST – Ran 3rd at Divonne-les-Bains before losing her action in a 2800m Strasbourg Class E 2 weeks ago. Won in the day’s configuration at La Capelle in June and with application will not be far off the mark
  85. KAID FORTUNA – Ran 3rd at La Rochelle before coming 5th of 9 in a 2150m Enghien Class D a month back. Enjoys a fine entry and in current form is easy to like for the win
    Summary: A relatively open affair this, but it is difficult to ignore KAID FORTUNA (18) who, despite never having delivered here, seems to be right back on track and dangerous even with shoes on. Nothing is a given though considering the presence of the wonderfully-consistent KADO SURPRISE (11) who debuts at the venue with a realistic chance of making it a winning one. With a race under his belt and competitively-shod for his Mauquenchy bow, KAIROS DE BOMO (15) will have his chances, as should KING AULNAIES (16) who will be reined by Francois Lagadeuc for the occasion.

  88. JUPITER DU PERCHE – Reassuring 3rd of 9 to JOTT DU BOCAGE (4) a 2750m Class G at La Capelle on 26 August, however a repeat seems most improbable
  89. JOTT DU BOCAGE – Made it 3 on the trot when easily winning a 2750m Class G at La Capelle on 26 August and on his current trajectory can add another victory to his growing tally
  90. JIVRY – Got the summer off to a good start but disappointing since, most recently 7th of 8 in a 2800m Strasbourg harness Class E 2 weeks ago. In the frame in 2 of last 3 monte starts but a minor place prospect at best this time
  91. JONQUILLETE CREPIN – Gave an excellent account at Divonne before being eliminated in a 2700m Vincennes Class D 10 days ago. Has buckets of ability though and will be no soft touch if Jean Ferron keeps her focused
  92. HIMALAYA TONIQUE – Trounced in last 3, most recently last of 9 in a 3025m Montier-en-Der amateurs harness Class F, and makes her monte debut with limited aspiration
  93. JAGUAR DE VILLETOT – Has not got his nose in front for almost 2.5 years but ran good 4th of 9 in a 2800m Strasbourg Class F a fortnight ago and looks thoroughly capable of picking up a minor place cheque
  94. IMTITI – 4th at Cabourg before repeating in a 2875m Argentan Class E a month ago. Is plainly back on the right road and, sporting a new formula, should have the wherewithal to get in on the action
  95. ISOLINA – Quickly eliminated in a 2875m Argentan Class E early last month. Tends to go well for her jockey though and must be respected
  96. JOLLY CHIC – Debuts in the discipline after winning a 2775m Craon Class F last weekend. Is plainly in cracking form and with Francois Lagadeuc aboard could yet get straight off the monte mark
    Summary: JOTT DU BOCAGE (4) has turned a corner since switching yards, comes to Mauquenchy after having secured the 3-timer, and will garner the lion’s share of support. He can still expect to encounter resistance from monte debutante JOLLY CHIC (11) who has won 4 of her last 5, and the tricky JONQUILLETE CREPIN (6) who lost her action early in Paris last time out. Winner at La Gacilly, ISOLINA (10) failed to confirm next time but can make amends if Alexis Collette keeps her focused.

  99. IDEAL DE SASSY – 4th of 14, a place behind HEROS DHELPA (10), in a 2725m Graignes Class E late last month. Handed a super draw and Pascal Louis Rousseau will be keen to take advantage. First 5
  100. JAGUAR D’OBRET – Put in a good effort to run 4th of 14 in a 2625m Class E at Le Sap 2.5 weeks ago. Has won for Franck Nivard and from the 4-spot will have his chances
  101. GALON D’AMIRAL – Out of the picture in 2 since winning at La Capelle in late-July, most recently eliminated in a 1800m Class E at the same venue last week, and others preferred
  102. IZIO DU POMMEREUX – Eliminated in a 2725m Graignes Class E in late-August and will first need to reassure
  103. JACOMO BELLO – Ran 3rd at Enghien before coming close 2nd of 14 in a 2100m Vincennes Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Is new to the venue but will appreciate the different profile and can impose
  104. JEU COQUIN – 3rd of 11 in a 2475m Francheville Class F mid-August. Forced to start wide though and in this company is unlikely to influence the outcome
  105. JUPITER MADRIK – Eliminated on return to competition in a 2800m Strasbourg Class E 2 weeks ago and still looks a race shy
  106. HEROS DHELPA – Surprise 3rd of 14 in a 2725m Graignes Class E late last month. Shoes fitted once more and is an interesting outsider
  107. JUNKIES MINDS – 3rd of 14, a place behind JACOMO BELLO (7), in a 2100m Vincennes Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Alexis Collette would have preferred a better draw but is not incapable of turning the tables
  108. JAGUAR DE LAUMAC – Imposed at Saint-Omer before being eliminated over 2350m in Waregem early this month. Has previously won here, goes barefoot this time, and despite the draw will have his supporters
    Summary: Patently back at his best after a tricky start to the summer season, JACOMO BELLO (7) breaks somewhat wide but he still has the wherewithal to win this. That said, JUNKIES MINDS (11) gave a reassuringly good account behind him at Vincennes recently and even from the 2nd row can win a race of this nature. Consistently in the thick of things, JAGUAR D’OBRET (4) has never let the side down at Mauquenchy and although unlikely to get his nose in front, will still be competitive for a step on the podium. The only mare in the field, JUSTICIA GLAM (1) wasn’t beaten when losing her action last time and must be taken seriously.
