R1 VINCENNES [L-H]

C1 – PRIX OPHELIA – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 56,000

  1. IQUEM – Out of the picture in all 4 starts since the break, most recently eliminated in a 2700m Class E at La Capelle on 25 July, and is not about to shake things up
  2. HELALI DE MONTCEAU – Unremarkable mare that ran 6th of 8 in a 2500m Reims Class E 2 weeks ago. No fan of Vincennes and can be passed over
  3. ILTON DE BELLANDE – Starts for the first time since being edged in a 2950m Vichy Class F on 24 June. Champion driver in the bike here and, ideally-positioned behind the car, can impose
  4. HORSE DE GRAMMONT – Put Montier-en-Der run behind him when comfortably winning a Class D over course and distance late last month. Has been handed a good draw and with Franck Ouvrie reining can double his money
  5. IDEFIX DHELPA – Oddly below-par 9th of 14 behind ITALIANO DI PAO (7) in a 2725m Graignes Class E late last month. Franck Nivard in the bike this time but cannot be regarded a contender
  6. HIPPARIS – Finished last of 14 in a 2800m Compiegne Class F last Sunday. Breaks in front but others still preferred
  7. ITALIANO DI PAO – Made up for Cabourg blip when 2nd of 14 in a 2725m Graignes Class E late last month. Breaks in front and has a decent chance of picking up some minor place prizemoney
  8. HARCANGELO D’AMOUR – Pulled-up in a 2625m Class E at Le Sap on 24 August. A write-off for past 3 months and can be confidently disregarded
  9. ICE HAUFOR – Held on well to win a 2725m Pornichet Class F 2 weeks ago. Less competitively shod this time though and a minor place prospect at best
  10. HENZO DE CARSI – Runner-up in 3 of last 4, latterly a 2850m amateurs Class F here on 27 July. Alexandre Abrivard gets the nod and should get in on the action if he successfully negotiates the start
  11. HEAVEN D’ECAJEUL – Pleasant 2nd of 11 in a 2700m Class F at La Capelle a week ago. Pitted against better this time and the draw will do him no favours
  12. INDY DE LA FYE – Close 2nd of 16 to ICE HAUFOR (9) in a 2725m Pornichet Class F a fortnight ago. Is plainly close to winning his first of the year and must be considered a player
  13. HUNIQUE – Failed to confirm Pornichet victory when leaving things too late, finishing 8th of 13 to HORSE DE GRAMMONT (4) in a Class D under these conditions in late-August. With different tactics can play a prominent part
  14. IROCKO STRYCK – Was on course for victory when losing his action in a 2725m Pornichet Class F on 21 August. Reverts to a previous formula and even though poorly-drawn, Cedric Terry will be eager to set the record straight
  15. IVALO DU BOCAGE – Returned to competition as he left off, latterly 11th of 12 in a Class E over track and trip 2.5 weeks ago, and has no possible chance
Summary: ILTON DE BELLANDE (3) had been enjoying a fine run of form in Vichy before being sent for a rest. He won under these conditions last autumn and, barefoot for re-entry, with Eric Raffin reining, can get straight down to business. HORSE DE GRAMMONT (4), however, won in 1’10″7 here a fortnight ago and from the 4-spot could well confirm. IROCKO STRYCK (14) was most unlucky at Pornichet last time and despite a tough draw, and modified shoeing, still looks dangerous. INDY DE LA FYE (12) has been knocking at the door, missed out by the smallest of margins recently, and can play a prominent role if his trainer defies the draw.

    C2 – PRIX LUCRETIA – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 40,000
  16. LADY POP – Ran an encouraging 5th of 8 in a 2150m Enghien Class D in late-July. Eric Raffin stays faithful and looks to represent a respectable first-5 prospect
  17. LA DIVA SUPREME – 9th of 14 when being prepared for this in a 2725m Cabourg Class E early last month. Is not easy to manage but is in fresh hands and, with her mind on the game, can wrap this up
  18. LADY BIRD JENILAT – 8th of 11 finishers, on return from a spell, in a 2750m Cabourg Class F in late-August. Configured to preference this time and can play an important part at the business end of the race
  19. LYANA D’ARC – Has not been seen out since dominating a Class D over course and distance on 17 June. Comes here fresh, ideally-positioned on the front row, and can give LA DIVA SUPREME (2) a run for her money
  20. LINNA DE VANDEL – Makes first appearance since running 7th of 12 in a 2700m Class C here last April. Won last time under these conditions though, reverts to a previous formula, and with application can go far
  21. L’ETOILE D’URSIN – 13th of 14 in a 2725m Cabourg Class E conditioner on 8 August. Sent out with a fresh configuration but is out of her league
  22. LADY DES ARRIS – Eliminated when prepping for this in a 2750m Cabourg Class F a fortnight ago. Is confirmed in the day’s configuration and while not a contender should nevertheless acquit herself respectably
  23. LONG LEGEND – Modest of late, latterly 7th of 9 in a 2700m Vincennes Class C on 20 August, and needs to get her house in order
  24. LEA D’ATOUT – As tricky as the come but won unopposed in a 2775m Class E at les Sables-d’Olonne on 27 August. Breaks wide but in current condition is hard to ignore
  25. LACIENDA FLASH – Made up for Pornichet clinker when 4th of 15 in a 2850m Meslay-du-Maine Class B in late-July. Not ideally-drawn here however and cannot be considered a player
  26. LOUBIANA DU BOURG – Returned to winning ways 3 weeks ago when comfortably securing a 2050m Cabourg Class D. Sports modified shoeing and even from the back line is worth retaining
  27. LADY DU CHENE – 12th of 14 in a 2700m Class E at La Capelle last week. Out of the picture all year and has nothing to offer
  28. LIANGA – Surprise 2nd of 9 in a 2700m Class D here a week ago. Handed a tough draw and others easier to back
Summary: Following a pair of runs for her new handler, the complicated but immensely capable LA DIVA SUPREME (2) faces her first objective of the year and can wrap this up if she stays in stride. Sent for a spell after winning under these conditions in June, LYANA D’ARC (4) runs barefoot and will be expected to play a leading role. LEA D’ATOUT (9) has been handed an unfavourable draw but a repeat of her latest run would see her competitive for the double. Shod as she was when placing here before the break, LADY BIRD JENILAT (3) is nicely-placed on the front line and should logically play an active role.

    C3 – PRIX SCYLLA – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 41,000
  29. KAZAN DE VANDEL – Produced just 2nd victory of his career when securing a 2500m Class E at La Rochelle early last month. Has had ample time to recover and even from the 1-spot can repeat
  30. KENDO JIEL – Back under harness after being eliminated in a 2700m monte Class D here on 1 September, and in current shape is unlikely to create an upset
  31. KYA D’ERABLE – 4th of 14 in a 2750m Cabourg Class E in early-July. Has not won for a year and is not about to, but she has a lot going for her here and the draw will do her chances no disservice
  32. KRONOS MADRIK – Runner-up in last 5, most recently going down to KAZAN DE VANDEL (1) in a 2500m Class E at La Rochelle early last month but Matthieu Abrivard will be determined to exact revenge
  33. KRISTO STAR – In the frame in last 2, latterly 2nd of 10 in a 2825m Class E at Sable-sur-Sarthe a month ago. Entrusted to Paul Ploquin this time and is well-placed to give this a good go
  34. KASTA DU RIB – Got back in the game at Cabourg a month ago when 2nd of 13 in a 2750m Cabourg Class E. Sports a fresh configuration but still has more to find
  35. KAPOOR D’OLMEN – Made it 2 on the trot when victorious in a 2700m Cagnes Class E on 20 August. Not once out of first 2 when focused and even though starting relatively wide, is still easy to like for a place in the frame
  36. KARA DE PIERREPONT – Eliminated in last 2, latterly when going well in a 2875m Enghien Class E on 23 July. Starts wide on front line but Mathieu Mottier takes over and can begin to put things right
  37. KADO DES MOLLES – 4th of 6 finishers in a 2600m Class D at Divonne-les-Bains 3.5 weeks ago. Pleased here in June but is being aimed too high this time
  38. KOSTELLO DE LOU – Won a 2600m Class E at Divonne-les-Bains 3 weeks ago. Is as honest as they come, ran 2nd on lone start over 2100m here, and while not a priority should nevertheless hold his own
  39. KENISA – Disappointing of late, most recently last of 8 in a 2875m Meslay-du-Maine Class D mid-August, and will have nothing to offer
  40. KING LOOK – 10th of 13 finishers on re-entry in a 2850m Class D here a week ago. Will have progressed for the run and is in competition-mode this time. Chance
  41. KAPITEN DU MELEUC – Reliable type that ran 4th of 12 in a 2800m Strasbourg Class E a fortnight back. Has pulled a tough number however and in this category will need to show markedly more
  42. KATINKA GEMA – Quality mare that ran 2nd of 10 in a 2700m Class E here on 1 September. Shoes on this time and best to wait
  43. KHEOPS BOURBON – Pleasantly surprising 4th of 14 behind KOKO DU CANTER (16) in a 2700m Class E here 3 weeks ago. Has not been lucky with the draw and can be ruled out
  44. KOKO DU CANTER – Fine servant that ran 2nd of 14 in a 2700m Class E here 3 weeks ago. Handed a tough draw though and even racing barefoot this time, would have better prospects a level down
Summary: Reunited with Eric Raffin last time out, KAZAN DE VANDEL (1) duly upset the status quo when defeating the wonderfully-consistent KRONOS MADRIK (4) at La Rochelle, and has every chance of repeating. Excellent since his return to racing in the spring, KAPOOR D’OLMEN (7) comes to Vincennes on a hat-trick and although in better company here still looks a player. Twice a winner here last winter, KING LOOK (12) has a race under his belt following a 7 months’ break and, barefoot this time, is unlikely to be too far off the mark.

    C4 – PRIX ALGORAH – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 59,000
  45. HAIKIDO – Left quite the impression 3 weeks ago when a fast-finishing 5th of 15 to IGRISONI (8) in a 2775m Class E at Les Sables-d’Olonne. Starts on the inside here and is unlikely to be far off the mark
  46. ILCAPITANO DU PARC – Has 2 runs under his belt, latterly racing better in a 3100m Vibraye Class D mid-August than his 6th of 12 would suggest. Looks to be close to his best and with Mathieu Mottier in the bike will be no soft touch
  47. HERMES D’ECROVILLE – Makes first appearance since running 5th of 9 in a 2700m Class D at La Capelle on 6 July and already looks out of his depth
  48. ISTORIC MAUZUN – Starts for the first time since dominating a Class D under these conditions on 27 June. Has form when fresh and from the 4-spot will take all the beating
  49. HAUTAIN – Encouraging 3rd of 13 in a 2800m Bernay Class E late last month. Is clearly in decent shape but at this level will need to find more
  50. HELIOS DJEMA – Won a brace on turf before coming 3rd of 12 in a 2850m Class D here just over 3 weeks ago. Untested below 2450m but Franck Nivard reins and will be afforded every chance
  51. HESCORT LOVE – Complicated but useful sort that ran 8th of 13 behind HAUTAIN (5) on re-entry in a 2800m Bernay Class E late last month. Is sure to have progressed and with application will be competitive for a place cheque
  52. IGRISONI – A revelation since the spring, most recently completing the hat-trick in a 2775m Class E at Les Sables-d’Olonne 3 weeks ago. Boasts excellent references over these shorter trips and looks a serious proposition
  53. FALCO DU HAMEL – Unplaced in last 3, most recently last of 12 behind HELIOS DJEMA (6) in a 2850m Class D here on 20 August, and can be passed over
  54. RUGER – Opened his French account when securing a 2800m Compiegne Class E on 31 August. Takes on a tougher bunch here and the draw will do him no favours
  55. DONIZETTI (SWE) – Last of 12 in a 2700m Class D at La Capelle last week. Disappointing on the whole this term and can be ruled out
  56. POWER DOC – Makes French debut after finishing last but one over 2100m in Orebro 3 weeks ago. Is undeniably capable but first needs to reassure
  57. FREEDOM (NOR) – Generous individual that ran 8th of 13 when preparing for this in a 2000m Class C at Les Sables-d’Olonne 2 weeks ago. Has won over course and distance, races barefoot this time, and warrants respect
Summary: Simply remarkable before being sent for a well-earned rest, ISTORIC MAUZUN (4) returns to conditions under which he has yet to be bested and even though unseen since late-June is still the horse to beat. Opposition takes the form of ILCAPITANO DU PARC (2) who caught the eye at Vibraye last time out, and the more widely-drawn IGRISONI (8) who returns to the capital on a 4-timer. Third to Alexandre Abrivard’s horse last time here, HAIKIDO (1) sports the same configuration and is not one to be underestimated. Barefoot following a necessary re-entry run, HESCORT LOVE (7) will have his chances if David Thomain keeps him trotting.

    C5 – PRIX DE BASLY – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Gr2 – Mounted – EUR € 120,000
  58. MY BLACK CADENCE – Looked very ordinary when 6th of 7 finishers to MISTY GREEN (11) in 2175m Gr.3 Prix Phact here 3 weeks ago and is not about to influence the outcome
  59. MANIGOD – Has not been seen out since losing his maiden status in a 2875m Enghien Class B on 28 June and at this level will have his work cut out
  60. MILOR DE LA VALLEE – Secured the hat-trick in a 2250m Enghien Class C on 17 July. Comes here fresh and even though taking a leap in category must not be overlooked
  61. MALICE CAILLERIE – Eliminated, on first start since the spell, in 23 August race of reference. Is not devoid of talent but others still easier to trust
  62. MISS DES BESACES – Last of 7 finishers to MISTY GREEN (11) in 2175m Gr.3 Prix Phact here 3 weeks ago and will have little to contribute
  63. MATIGNON – Ran 4th in Gr.1 Prix d’Essai before coming 3rd of 7 finishers to MISTY GREEN (11), after having fluffed the break, in 2175m Gr.3 Prix Phact here 3 weeks ago. Will appreciate a return to the classic distance and can impose
  64. MELODY DE VIVOIN – 2nd in Gr.1 Prix d’Essai then 2nd again, at 10/1, in Gr.3 Prix Phact 3 weeks ago. Faces a tougher test this time but is still unlikely to return home empty-handed
  65. MY PRINCESS – Debuts under the saddle after being eliminated in a harness Gr.2 over course and distance late last month. Has buckets of ability and on good behaviour can get back in the game
  66. MADEMOISELLE JANE – Should not be too hastily-judged for finishing last but one, on re-entry, in a harness Gr.2 over course and distance late last month. Not once out of the frame under the saddle and will not go down easily
  67. MHUM FLYNG – 4th of 7 finishers to MISTY GREEN (11), on comeback, in 2175m Gr.3 Prix Phact here 3 weeks ago. Will have progressed for the run and, a Gr.2 winner in the spring, will be expected to give MATIGNON (6) a run for his money
  68. MISTY GREEN – Superb winner of 2175m Gr.3 Prix Phact here 3 weeks ago. Has twice placed under these conditions and while unlikely to repeat, is clearly in excellent shape and can again finish close
Summary: Very good in both codes, MATIGNON (6) has nevertheless demonstrated fine aptitude for the ridden code and, more performant over 2700m, will be expected to turn the tables on MISTY GREEN (11) who beat him in the Prix Phact late last month. Eric Raffin will be justifiably concerned by the classy MHUM FLYNG (10) though who can make a big splash if he gets off on the right foot. Confirmed at this level in the other code, MY PRINCESS (8) makes her monte bow and Mathieu Mottier will be quietly confident.

    C6 – PRIX CURSA – 2175m (a1m1/4) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 40,000
  69. MILADY DE MONTCEAU – 2nd of 12 in a 2700m Vittel Class E on 27 July. Has hardly put a foot wrong this summer but seems to be taking on too much this time
  70. MAMICASH D’HERIPRE – Pleasant 2nd of 8 finishers in a 3025m Class E at Montier-en-Der on 24 August but in this company is not about to spice things up
  71. MAFALDA – Starts for the first time since running 5th of 7 in a 2875m Enghien Class D on 17 July. Is clearly better than that and the engagement of Eric Raffin will only work to her advantage
  72. MA DOUCE DE DALINE – Made it 2 on the trot when winning a 2850m Brehal Class D on 18 August. Is plainly on the way up and although unlikely to win this can still challenge for a place on the podium
  73. MANDRAGORA FLEURY – Placed twice before running an unthreatening 6th of 9 behind MASTERCLASS D’EARL (6) in a 2750m Cabourg Class D on 19 August, and will struggle to make her presence felt
  74. MASTERCLASS D’EARL – Useful filly that ran an excellent 3rd of 9 in a 2750m Cabourg Class D on 19 August. Has delivered neither on the main course nor going left-handed, but has evident ability and must be respected
  75. MIRABELLE DE LARRE – Showed improvement when 4th of 15 in a 2700m Class E at La Capelle on 26 August. Has never produced the goods over shorter and is unlikely to start now
  76. MALAVISTA SOMOLLI – Ran 5th at Enghien before coming 6th of 9, a place behind MAGIE DE CHAHAINS (15), in a 2700m Class D here late last month, and is unlikely to be troubling the judge
  77. MERRY RIVER – Disqualified from 5th, on return from a spell, in a 2150m Enghien Class D on 14 August. Will nevertheless have progressed for the race and with application can contest the finish this time
  78. MISS IS DU CANET – Honest sort that ran 3rd of 8 in a 2500m Class D at La Rochelle early last month. Cannot be considered a priority but still has the wherewithal to get a look in
  79. MARGOT PAROYO – Won at Argentan before coming 7th of 11 in a 2700m Class C here on 27 June. Has not been seen since but is in more suitable company this time and unlikely to disappoint
  80. MARISA DU CHATELET – Opened her account at Divonne-les-Bains a month ago before running 2nd of 8 in a 2600m Class E at the same venue 11 days later, but can expect to find this a very stiff test
  81. MADE IN ATALANTE – Won a brace at Cagnes before faulting in a 2925m Class A at the same venue 3 weeks ago. David Thomain takes over in the bike and can play a leading role if he keeps her focused
  82. MUNIA – Quality future prospect that ran good 2nd of 14 in a 2150m Enghien Class E in late-July. Will be fresh for Vincennes bow and has a decent chance of making it a victorious one
  83. MAGIE DE CHAHAINS – Put in a good effort to come 5th of 9 in a 2700m Class D here late last month. Has arguably shown more racing clockwise but in current condition is easy to fancy for a first-5 cheque
Summary: A fairly open race this but it is seldom wise to ignore an Allaire filly with potential, and MUNIA (14) is just that. MERRY RIVER (9) got intro strife on her comeback but showed her form all the same and looks the main threat. MADE IN ATALANTE (13) failed to secure the 3-timer when eliminated in the Coupe des 3 Ans but David Thomain will be out to make amends. MA DOUCE DE DALINE (4) debuts on a hard surface after winning a brace on turf and with Mathieu Mottier in the bike must be taken very seriously.

  84. INSTANT GRAVE – Put in a solid finish to come 4th of 10 in a Class D over course and distance on 20 August, but will need to find more this time around
  85. FLASH MONEY – Sprang a 61/1 surprise when victorious in a 2850m harness Class C here 2.5 weeks ago. Agathe Poulain aboard for his monte debut but others still preferred
  86. INTOUCHABLE – Last of 6 in a 2175m Gr.2 here 10 days ago. Is Gr.2-placed under the saddle though and must not be underestimated
  87. GORDON MIJACK – Back under the saddle after coming 5th of 14 in a harness Class C under these conditions on 20 August. Boasts a decent monte record, has been reconfigured, and can make first 5
  88. FARANDOLE DI PALBA – Last of 13 in a 2800m Auch harness Class A conditioner 2.5 weeks ago. Is barefoot as she likes and Mathieu Mottier can be confident of a big performance
  89. ILTON ROYAL – Has not been seen out since running 3rd of 10 in a 2850m Gr.3 here in early-May. Is barefoot for his comeback and has a decent chance of finishing in the mix
  90. INDIGO DE FONTAINE – Was preparing for this when eliminated in a harness Gr.3 over course and distance 3 weeks ago. Is 2 for 2 in this branch of the game and it would be no surprise to see him extend that
Summary: Back under the saddle, a code in which he has yet to be beaten, INDIGO DE FONTAINE (7) reverts to a successful formula and looks eminently capable of opening his 2025 account. Alexandre Abrivard will still be mindful of a barefoot FARANDOLE DI PALBA (5) who prepped for this under harness recently, and INTOUCHABLE (3) who drops to a more reasonable level.

  91. NIKITA DE CALVI – 7th of 8 behind NACRE DU MOUTHIEUX (6) in a 2200m Agon Class G 2.5 weeks ago and is unlikely to have many takers
  92. NEZUKO JIEL – Held her own on debut late last month when 2nd of 7 in a 2300m Class G at Montier-en-Der, but may just be taking on too much this time
  93. NANIKA DU PONT – Found wanting when last of 5 behind NOVA DE CELLAND (9) in a 2175m Class C here late last month. Should appreciate the different profile but others still easier to back
  94. NYMPHE D’ELLE – Gave a good account on debut a week ago when 2nd of 9 in a 2000m Class F at La Capelle. Takes a notable step up in category but with Eric Raffin in the bike is sure to generate interest
  95. NATION DOREE – Ran 2nd on debut before being eliminated in a 2300m Bernay Class E on 31 August. Is patently capable and will have a part to play if applied
  96. NACRE DU MOUTHIEUX – Won nicely first time out, securing a 2200m Agon Class G 2.5 weeks ago. Will have come on for the race and is in with a decent shout of returning home with a perfect record
  97. NO MORE – Got off the mark at Ecommoy on 20 July before being eliminated in a 2250m Enghien Class D a week later. Is patently in fine shape though and with stride in check will be no pushover
  98. NOELA JOSSELYN – Races left-handed for the first time after coming 4th of 10 finishers in a 2050m Cabourg Class D on 22 August. Unlikely to get her nose in front but has a decent shot at picking up a cheque
  99. NOVA DE CELLAND – Denied a run, coming 3rd of 5 finishers in a 2175m Class C here late last month. Will appreciate the flatter track and Franck Nivard can set the record straight
Summary: Promising in both starts to date, NOVA DE CELLAND (9) was very unlucky here late last month and can get off the mark this time if Franck Nivard keeps her out of trouble. He will still be keeping a watchful eye on debut-winner NACRE DU MOUTHIEUX (6) who should have no issue with the new conditions, and NO MORE (7) whose finish was curtailed by stride woes. NATION DOREE (5) will not be far from the action if Alexis Collette keeps her trotting.

Summary: HIGHFIELD HEIRESS (6) has been tumbling in the weights recently. Her sixth at Deauville 17 days ago was a credible effort on the PSF at Deauville. Back on the turf, she is the tentative selection ahead of IPPLING (2), who won at Le Touquet in mid-August and is versatile over various distances. KATHALINA (4) was not beaten far at Deauville 19 days ago on the PSF and should appreciate the return to racing on grass. KAVAKNEY (11) is also worth considering.

  30. KAMETA – Unplaced last time, 2nd previously over 1300m at Le Touquet on August 17th in a Class 4 handicap. Others preferred
Summary: ON LOCKDOWN (9) could be the best option for this open handicap. He was a decent third at Parislongchamp in early May, and if emulating that performance, he looks like the one to beat. MEISHO VELITE (6) has been in top form recently and can make the selection work hard for success. MONSIEURVALCHOP (2) could be a sensible option for the each-way backers to latch on to after a decent second at Le Touquet last month. EL MEASTRO (11) looks best of the remainder.
