The only question that he needs to answer is if he will stay the trip but there is no reason to suggest that he won’t. Summary: COLTRANE (5) has proven himself as an ultimate staying type and although he may not be the horse he used to be, he has the class edge over this field which could carry him through. His only run in France was in this contest last year and this appears to be a weaker renewal which could see him grab the honors. SACRED SPIRIT (8) continues to get better with each outing and despite not meeting anything of this quality before, he comes from a powerful yard and could challenge if staying. SUNWAY (4) is capable on his day but needs to prove he stays. QUEENSTOWN (6) should have no issues with the trip and could emerge as a challenger.

A sound Group 1 winner in June ahead of the colts at Chantilly, HAJMAH (2) looks the biggest threat to the selection. He is yet to get anything more than a Group 3 and this could be his opportunity to strike and register Group 2 success. QUDDWAH (4) was a Group 3 winner two starts back before running with plenty of credit last time out, finishing just behind the top choice and with a bit of luck in transit, he will bid to add another Group race to his tally. Summary: BAY CITY ROLLER (8) has just found one too good in his two efforts on French soil and this shapes up to be an ideal spot for him to secure his second Group two win. DAMYSUS (9) only blotted his copy book in a Group 1 so is best forgiven for that and on his overall form, he will be a major contender to land his maiden Group success. FIRST LOOK (1) got a first taste of what Group success is like when winning last time out and despite having to concede weight to the improving 3yos, he can feature.
