R1 VINCENNES [L-H]
C1 – PRIX THEMIS – 2850m (a2m) – Class C – Harness – EUR € 68,000
- DAYAK (ITY) – Runner-up in 3 of last 4, most recently a 2150m Enghien Class E on 13 August. Comes here fresh, with Gabi Gelormini in the bike, and should again figure prominently
- DADA DEL RONCO – 5th of 13, on first start for 4 months, in a 2750m Cabourg Class D on 22 August. Seldom disappoints when barefoot at Vincennes and from the first line will be no pushover
- LUCKY GUY BOKO – 8th of 11 finishers, a place behind JUNKIE (SWE) (4), in a 2725m Lisieux Class E on 24 September. Is still being conditioned though and can be passed over
- JUNKIE (SWE) – 7th of 11 finishers in a 2725m Lisieux Class E just under 3 weeks ago. Would be preferred barefoot but is still not out of the picture
- IRON DU GERS – Last but one when being conditioned in a 2700m Class B here late last month. Races shod and will have other ambitions
- POWER DOC – Imposed on Vincennes debut on 12 September but failed to confirm when eliminated in a 2750m Angouleme Class E earlier this month. Incurs the penalty but with stride in check should not be far off the mark
- JOLIE SURPRISE – Has not been seen out since running 9th of 16 in a 2750m Cabourg Class B 3 months ago. Shoes fitted and will have little to offer
- DEA SPRINT BAR – Quality mare making first appearance since running 3rd of 13 in a 2700m Gr.3 here last February. Shoes fitted for return and is not a concern
- HEADSCOTT – Wonderfully-consistent type making reappearance after an 8 months’ break and will not be given a hard race
- GIMS DU PLESSIS – Made up for a pair of eliminations when close 2nd of 12 in a 2700m Class B here 2 weeks ago. Unlikely to impose but will not be sent out at 61-1 this time
- JEWELCANDLE FAC – Cornulier 3rd that ran last of 12 on re-entry in a Gr.3 over course and distance 3.5 weeks ago. Shoes on once more and can be ruled out
- HARISON DU PLESSIS – 8th of 10, on first start for 4.5 months, in a 2950m Toulouse Class C 3 weeks ago. Is competitively-shod, seldom disappoints for his driver, and can play a leading role
- IZNOGOUD AM – Got back in the winners’ circle when securing a 2850m Class C at Lyon-Parilly last week. A repeat seems unlikely but should hold his own nonetheless
- EROS ZOLA – Lacklustre 7th of 11 in a Class B over course and distance on 13 September. Trainer could not have wished for a better entry and Theo Duvaldestin will be keen to oblige
Summary: Just a few Euros from elimination and dropping down the category-ladder, EROS ZOLA (14) seldom disappoints here and is easy to fancy for the win. The talented HARISON DU PLESSIS (12) though sports a new configuration for his first seasonal objective and is reunited with Eric Raffin who has already won 5 times with him. DAYAK (ITY) (1) may not have been seen out for over 2 months but he goes well when fresh, is 25m better off, and success is long overdue. Also on the first row, DADA DEL RONCO (2) gave a good account on re-entry and will be competitive for a place on the podium.

C2 – PRIX ASPASIA – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class C – Harness – EUR € 46,000 - LEGENDE SEVEN – Last of 7 behind LADY PRINCESS (4) in a 2150m Enghien Class D last week. Is never easy to handle and with shoes on will not be over-extended
- LOVE ME AGAIN – Last but one when prepping for this in a 2100m Class D here late last month. Shoes on once more and best to keep one’s powder dry
- LEA D’ATOUT – 7th of 12 behind LADY BIRD JENILAT (15) in a 2100m Class C here on 19 September. Is in conditioning-mode this time though and others preferred
- LADY PRINCESS – Sprang a 51-1 surprise when 2nd of 7 finishers in a 2150m Enghien Class D last week. Is clearly progressing and while unlikely to get her nose in front, can nevertheless get in on the action
- LATINA DU FER – Like a horse reborn over recent months, latterly dominating a 2575m Agen Class D in mid-September. Takes on a good bunch here but will still be competitive for a cheque
- LUNA D’ARNHEM – Out of the picture in last 4, most recently 10th of 12 behind LADY QUEEN (9) in a 2825m Chartres Class B on 12 September. Has been fitted with a new configuration but still not easy to make a case
- LAROZE DU GERS – Sent for a rest after winning 3 of last 4, latterly a 2150m Enghien Class D on 2 July. Stays shod for re-entry and best to hold off
- LADY DES ARRIS – 5th of 12 finishers in a Class C under these conditions 2 weeks ago. Sports a fresh configuration for the occasion but still not a contender
- LADY QUEEN – Disappointing of late, most recently last of 12 behind LADY BIRD JENILAT (15) in a 2100m Class C here on 19 September, and will need to find considerably more
- LA DIVA SUPREME – Lost her action early in a Class C under these conditions a fortnight ago after having run 3rd over shorter here a fortnight earlier. Cannot be considered a priority but should not be written off either
- LUNA DOMA – 12th of 15 behind LOUISA D’ATOUT (12) in a 2775m Craon Class D 2.5 weeks ago. Has been showing the limits of her capacity and can be passed over
- LOUISA D’ATOUT – 6th of 15 when being conditioned in a 2775m Craon Class D 2.5 weeks ago. Won over course and distance last April and Matthieu Abrivard will be expecting to win this
- LITTLE ITALY – Won over track and trip in early-September then confirmed with authority later in the month in a 2850m Class D, also here. Has been a revelation when barefoot and the 3-timer is well within her capacity
- LIBERTY PAT – Quality element that ran 10th of 18, on comeback, in a 2800m Cordemais Class B earlier in the month. Has shown a particular liking for the Vincennes profile and is unlikely to be far off the mark
- LADY BIRD JENILAT – Put in a good effort to run 2nd of 12 in a 2100m Class C here a month back. Is proven over 2700m here and is not incapable of challenging for a place in the frame
- LUTELLIA MONNERIE – 11th of 12 finishers behind LADY DES ARRIS (8) in a Class C under these conditions 2 weeks ago. Has solid references at a superior level and the entry will only enhance her already good prospects
Summary: LITTLE ITALY (13) has taken her game to a new level lately, has earned the right to step up in category, and is in with a realistic shout of securing the hat-trick. Robin Lamy would be well-advised though to keep an eye on LOUISA D’ATOUT (12) who is shod to preference following a pair of conditioners, and LUTELLIA MONNERIE (16) who runs barefoot for her first objective of the autumn. Nicely-engaged close to the limit of earnings, LIBERTY PAT (14) will be reunited with Eric Raffin.

C3 – PRIX SATURNE – 2850m (a2m) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 56,000 - ORKAN BO – Came close to pulling off the hat-trick when 2nd of 5 over 2000m in Gelsenkirchen late last month. Takes on a good lot here but looks thoroughly up to the task. Place chance
- HAWKER TYPOON – 8th of 11 finishers in a 2250m Enghien monte Class F last week and is being aimed too high
- LUKA MODRIC – Winner over 2300m in Mons last Tuesday. Has hardly put a foot wrong since July and has a reasonable chance of playing a small part
- UN MEC PAASLOO – 3rd of 5 over 2100m in Victoria Park earlier this month. Always gives his best but at this level will have too much to do
- CAPIROSKA FONT – Back under harness after finishing last of 8 in a 2850m monte Class D over the short track here a month ago, and has little to offer once more
- CANTAB AS – Pleased twice on the Riviera before being eliminated over 2350m in Victoria Park early last month. Goes barefoot this time and while not a priority can still make his presence felt if applied
- IDEAL MOSSA – 4th of 9 in a 2400m Amiens Class E a fortnight ago. Has excelled in the provinces this year and returns to Vincennes with a decent chance of making first 5
- ILIADE MENCOURT – 4th of 16 to IDEAL DE CASTELLE (11) in a 2150m Enghien Class E 3 weeks ago. Has never delivered over 2850m here and is unlikely to start now
- ICE HAUFOR – 11th of 18 in a 2700m Segre Class D early this month. Not the most dependable horse here, and sports front pads for the occasion, but with Matthieu Abrivard reining should not be underestimated
- INKY PERRINE – Last but one in a 2700m Class D here on 23 September. Has been out of sorts for some time and is unlikely to spring any surprises
- IDEAL DE CASTELLE – Successfully picked up at Enghien 3 weeks ago where he left off at Pornichet in July, winning a 2150m Class E with authority. Eric Raffin in the bike this time and will take all the beating
- INDY DE LA FYE – Runner-up in last 3, latterly a 2100m amateurs Class E here 2 weeks ago. Trainer in the bike this time and will once again be afforded every chance
- OSCAR VAN HALBEEK – Returns to conditions he appreciates after winning over 2840m in Mons 10 days ago. Franck Ouvrie back in the bike and will be legitimately confident. Chance
Summary: Off the track for over 15 months, IDEAL DE CASTELLE (11) has been making up for lost time and returns to Vincennes with an excellent chance of making it 3 on the trot. OSCAR VAN HALBEEK (13) however, enjoys a fine entry, is barefoot following his successful Mons conditioner, and will be no soft touch. INDY DE LA FYE (12) has been knocking at the door and pleased on his only start under these conditions. The German ORKAN BO (1) takes to the Vincennes track for the first time but is battle-hardened and will appreciate the extended trip.

C4 – PRIX GUDRUN – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class B – Harness – EUR € 60,000 - LOLA DU CAMPUS – Eliminated in last 2, latterly a 2175m Class C here in early-September, and is not easy to make a case for her
- LOTTA LOVE – Comfortable winner of a Class C over course and distance 2 weeks ago. Has moved her game up a notch this term and while not a priority could nevertheless get a look in
- KHAMSA – 3rd of 16 in a 2850m Class D here 2 weeks ago. Reverts to a previous formula and must be considered a player
- KEY OF LOVE – Reassured at Laval in August prior to being eliminated in 21 September race of reference, and with shoes on is unlikely to spice things up
- KASSYA – 8th of 10 finishers, on return from a spell, in a 2750m Cabourg Class D in late-August. Pads fitted this time and can be disregarded
- LYZIA DES AGETS – Eliminated, on first start since last November, in a 2800m Cordemais harness Class B 12 days ago. Has other priorities and will have nothing to contribute
- LOUVE DE DAIDOU – Authoritative winner of a 2175m Class C here on 6 September. Seldom disappoints in the day’s configuration and looks competitively well in
- KANAKA DE BUSSET – Not the most reliable horse here but ran 4th of 9 finishers to KALISKANA (12), when reunited with David Thomain, in a Class C over course and distance on 21 September, and cannot be ruled out
- KALINE DE VIVOIN – Eliminated in both return runs, most recently when on course for victory in a Class C under these conditions on 21 September. Eric Raffin stays faithful and should be taken seriously
- LARA CROFT – Started to make amends for Criterium elimination when 2nd only to a very good filly in a 2725m Lisieux Class B on 24 September. Is plainly close to her race and will be no easy touch
- KNITULIA – Was on a pleasant run of form before finishing 11th of 15 behind KORONA DELADOU (13) in a 2100m Class B here on 13 September. Is confirmed here but others still preferred
- KALISKANA – Impressive of late, latterly convincing winner of a Class C over track and trip on 21 September, and can expect the lion’s share of support
- KORONA DELADOU – Reassuring 3rd of 16 in a 2725m Lisieux Class B on 24 September. Benefits from a good entry and Guillaume Martin will be eager to take advantage. First 5
- KAPUSHA MIP – Encouraging 4th of 11 in a 2850m Lyon-Parilly Class C a month back. Is a very generous mare and can pleasantly surprise if Hugues Monthule keeps her focused
Summary: Very much at home at Vincennes, and a course-and-distance winner just last month, KALISKANA (12) returns to the venue on a 3-timer and looks eminently capable of pulling it off. That said, a barefoot LARA CROFT (10) has shown she is a filly not to be toyed with and represents the main danger. KALINE DE VIVOIN (9) has been struggling of late but she won for Eric Raffin last winter, has been reconfigured, and should not be underestimated. LOUVE DE DAIDOU (7) imposed in a personal best time here last month and steps up in category with a good hand to play. KHAMSA (3) is a tough nut to crack when unshod-behind and Julien Dubois can be justifiably confident of a big run.

C5 – PRIX OPHIUCUS – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class A – Harness – EUR € 62,000 - MACANA MONNERIE – Quality filly making first appearance since winning a 2875m Enghien Class C in early-July. Steps up in category and will also need the run
- MARINA JAMES – Starts for the first time since running 3rd of 13 in a 2875m Enghien Class B on 10 August. Has solid references over 2700m here but still takes on a tough bunch
- MAMJACK SACHA – Returns to Vincennes after running 8th of 12 finishers on re-entry in a 2750m Craon Class B 2.5 weeks ago. Eric Raffin in the bike and is not one to be overlooked. Attention
- MAIA JIEL – Made fine re-entry at La Capelle before dominating a 2100m Class C here on 18 September. Is plainly on the up and will be competitive at the business end of the race
- MIRATISSIME – Disappointing at La Capelle before being eliminated in a 2725m Lisieux Class B on 24 September, and can expect to have few friends
- MADNESS SAM – Got that maiden monkey off her back mid-August in a 2875m Enghien Class C. Has had ample time to get back in shape but looks more a minor place prospect this time around
- MOON STAR FOR YOU – Eliminated in a 2450m Caen monte Gr.1 last weekend and is not about to influence the result
- MARION D’ATOUT – Eliminated in last 2, latterly a Gr.2 over track and trip in late-August. Has bags of ability though and can figure prominently if David Thomain keeps her trotting
- MARQUISE DE MAGNY – Runner-up in last 2, most recently to MIRA DE FROULAY (12) in a Class B over course and distance late last month. Unlikely to get her nose in front but still looks competitive for a step on the podium
- MIDNIGHT EXPRESS – Bit off more than she could chew when 7th of 9 finishers in a Gr.2 over course and distance in late-August. Comes here fresh and, already successful with Paul Ploquin, must be afforded respect
- MARA BEST – Made considerable improvement on La Capelle conditioner when easily winning a 2825m Class B at Le Croise-Laroche on 1 October. Faces a better lot this time though and chances limited
- MIRA DE FROULAY – Made it 4 for 4 when securing a Class B over course and distance 3 weeks ago. Her limits have yet to be defined and can wrap this up
- MARGAUX DES ARRIS – 9th of 18, on return to competition, in a 2725m Lisieux Class B on 24 September. Is a long way from her best and must first reassure
Summary: Winner of all 4 starts to date, most recently in good order under these conditions, MIRA DE FROULAY (12) looks primed to keep her unbeaten record intact. MAIA JIEL (4) opened her Vincennes account a month ago and steps up in class with a good hand to play. MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (10) returns to a more reasonable level and can make the first 3 this time. MARQUISE DE MAGNY (9) has come agonisingly close to losing her maiden tag on numerous occasions and it is only a question of time before she delivers.

C6 – PRIX CYANE – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class B – Mounted – EUR € 52,000 - MAJUSCULE – Unremarkable filly that ran 5th of 15 in a 2200m Class D here 2.5 weeks ago and will have nothing to contribute
- MY AMERICA – 8th of 11 finishers, on re-entry, in a 2150m Enghien harness Class C earlier in the month. Imposed over the main course in the spring but has a lot more to find this time
- MIMI D’AUTHISE – Made up for Sables-d’Olonne elimination when easily winning a 2175m Class D here on 9 September. Clearly has a bright future ahead of her and with application is unlikely to disappoint
- MUSIQUE NAY – 3rd of 8 finishers to MISSY DE JIEL (10) in a Class C over course and distance early last month. Will have been specifically prepared for this and can again finish in the mix
- MARBELLA CHAFS – Lost her maiden tag a month ago when victorious in a Class D over track and trip. Is unlikely to repeat but is unlikely to be available at 50-1 either
- MISS TAHITI – 2nd of 6 finishers to MARBELLA CHAFS (5) in a Class D over track and trip a month ago. Has taken well to the monte discipline but is taking on too much this time
- MUNHOA VEDAQUAISE – Complicated but talented filly making first appearance since being eliminated in a 2250m Enghien Class C in mid-July. Is not here to make up the numbers and on good behaviour should have this in the bag
- MADINA MESLOISE – 6th of 10 in a harness Class B over course and distance 3 weeks ago. Is confirmed under the saddle but others still preferred
- MY BLACK CADENCE – Back to a more reasonable level after being quickly eliminated in a Gr.2 under these conditions on 12 September. Eric Raffin in the saddle and cannot be ruled out
- MISSY DE JIEL – Terrific winner over track and trip in early-September before being eliminated in a Class A under these conditions 19 days later. Is well-entered here though and appears the main threat to MUNHOA VEDAQUAISE (7)
Summary: Even though sanctioned more often than not, and unraced since July, MUNHOA VEDAQUAISE (7) has shown her class more than once and can make this her own if Paul Ploquin keeps her trotting. There will still be pressure from the progressive MISSY DE JIEL (10) who is nicely-engaged here, and MIMI D’AUTHISE (3) who breezed up here last month. MUSIQUE NAY (4) has shown a lot of promise and will not be far off the mark if she stays in stride.

C7 – PRIX MARCEL DEJEAN – 2200m (a1m1/2) – Gr3 – Harness – EUR € 54,000 - NOUBADARCHE – Eliminated in a 2150m Enghien Class C last week and in this company has no possible chance
- NEWZIRA JOSSELYN – Eliminated more often than not, latterly a 2150m Enghien Class C last week, and can expect to have few takers
- NOVA DE CELLAND – Has gone from strength to strength since her August debut, most recently 2nd of 5 finishers in a Class D over course and distance on 12 September. Takes on a better lot this time but can still play a small part
- NIKITA DU MOUTHIEU – Runner-up to NIKAIA PORT (6) in a 2150m Enghien Class C late last month. In better company this time and has some ground to make up
- NOVA TIM – Respectable 3rd of 5 finishers to NOUBA DU BAS BOSQ (11) in a 2175m Class A here late last month. Consistently gives her best and can challenge for a place in the frame
- NIKAIA PORT – Debuted successfully at Reims in mid-September before authoritatively confirming in a 2150m Enghien Class C a fortnight later. Should take well to the 2200m course and must not be overlooked
- NYMPHE D’ELLE – Third time a charm as she dominated a 2150m Enghien Class C last week. Matthieu Abrivard in the bike again and despite the hike in category must be taken seriously
- NEREIDA – Debuted nicely at Enghien then dominated a Class C over track and trip a month ago. Has buckets of progress in him and looks main danger to NOUBA DU BAS BOSQ (11)
- NEW QUALITY – Opened her account here in late-August but failed to confirm when last of 5 finishers to NOUBA DU BAS BOSQ (11) in a 2175m Class A here 2.5 weeks ago, and is unlikely to shake things up
- NOCIVE DU CHOQUEL – Got off the mark at Enghien in August before running 2nd to NOUBA DU BAS BOSQ (11) in a 2175m Class A here 2.5 weeks ago and has a realistic chance of trotting her way into the picture
- NOUBA DU BAS BOSQ – Classy future prospect that won a 2175m Class A here, unopposed, on 30 September. Is by some margin the best horse here and will take some beating
Summary: Terrific winner of all 3 starts to date, NOUBA DU BAS BOSQ (11) takes his first steps at Group level and quite clearly has the class to win this. Yoann Lebourgeois will still be keeping one eye on recent course-and-distance winner NEREIDA (8) who clearly has talent in spades, and NOCIVE DU CHOQUEL (10) who ran 2nd to the Allaire filly here 2.5 weeks ago. 3rd that day, NOVA TIM (5) is unlikely to lose her maiden status but should nevertheless finish in the mix.

C8 – PRIX LOUIS CAUCHOIS – 2200m (a1m1/2) – Gr3 – Harness – EUR € 54,000 - NITRO DAIRPET – Well-beaten 2nd of 10 to NAT KING COLE (5) in a 2150m Enghien Class C on 6 October but may just be found wanting this time around
- NECTAR D’AVIGNERE – Got off the mark here in late-August before running 4th of 7 to NUAGE DE BEAUCAMPS (8) in a 2175m Class A here 2.5 weeks ago, and cannot be considered a priority
- NELSON EMGE – Won over track and trip in early-September debut before running 2nd of 7 to NITESCO DE SIMM (7) in a Class A under similar conditions a fortnight later. Has bags of potential and can figure prominently once again
- NELSON DE BUSSET – Honest colt that ran 3rd of 7 to NUAGE DE BEAUCAMPS (8) in a 2175m Class A here 2.5 weeks ago, and has more to find
- NAT KING COLE – Imposed on re-entry, easily winning a 2150m Enghien Class C 11 days ago. Is 2nd best of the Allaire pair but still looks a serious proposition
- NOBEL VENESI – Course and distance winner mid-September but was convincingly beaten into 2nd by NUAGE DE BEAUCAMPS (8) in a 2175m Class A here 2.5 weeks ago. Not a contender but can still get in on the action
- NITESCO DE SIMM – Progressive colt that met no opposition en route to victory in a Class A over course and distance 3.5 weeks ago and has every chance of making it 4 on the trot
- NUAGE DE BEAUCAMPS – Made it 3 for 3 when comfortably winning a 2175m Class A here 2.5 weeks ago. Is clearly one for the future and can win this if he contains NITESCO DE SIMM (7)
Summary: Philippe Allaire and Yoann Lebourgeois appear to have a lock on the equivalent fillies race and their unbeaten NITESCO DE SIMM (7), who won smartly on his return, looks the one to beat in the colts version. NUAGE DE BEAUCAMPS (8) however, has yet to be bested either and will be expected to contest the finish. The 2nd Allaire-trained colt, NAT KING COLE (5), has looked a serious sort in the making and makes his Vincennes debut with the confidence of his team.

MACAO MIP (7) was a very easy winner over this track and trip on debut and must be respected for that effort. MILANO DU DIGEON (8) returned from a break and appreciated the longer distance when winning, so is clearly not out of it. Summary: MATAKI (2) has been improving with race experience and got off the mark in a maiden race at Mont-de-Marsan on September 10th by over four lengths. He is preferred over NUMIDIA (5), who showed promise on her only start at Deauville in mid-August and has a top jockey in Maxime Guyon on board. Summary: GRACIA (6) won twice in Germany over 1200m last year and has the potential to bounce back to her best form in this claiming race. REINE DU CIEL (7) can be forgiven for her latest effort and is better judged on her runner-up finish in a claiming event at Chantilly in mid-September. She could push the main selection all the way. Summary: MARLOWE (10) could be the answer to this tricky event. He shaped well when second at Amiens late last month when beaten narrowly. He is preferred ahead of AMRITA (2), who got the job done at Fontainebleau in a Class 4 race late last month and will be full of confidence for that success, and is versatile trip-wise. JUST IN TIME GAME (1) looks like a sensible option each way after a win at Craon in September. PLACEHOLDER (4) makes up the shortlist.

Summary: HERMES WOOD (4) won his first two races, including a claiming event on the PSF. He was then placed in higher-class races (Class 1 and 2). Now dropping back into claiming company after a couple of unplaced runs, he looks well positioned to return to form. MARTA’S PRINCE (7) may pose the main threat, having won a claimer two starts ago in August and finishing a respectable fourth last time out. KEANU (2) deserves respect and should be involved, while IFFROCTA FAL (9) is another to consider.

With the same advantage are PEARL HARBOUR (5) and PRINCEDESCHAMPS (12) but the latter has the widest draw in the race. A very interesting contest.

MYKISS (4) returned to winning ways last time and if confirming his recent improvement, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
