R1 VINCENNES [L-H]
C1 – PRIX DU MERLERAULT – 2175m (a1m1/4) – Class A – Harness – EUR € 62,000
- MANDELA SEVEN – Lightly-raced element that won at Vichy before the holidays. Has a race under his belt, is reunited with JMB, but may just be taking on too much
- MESSIRE DU GERS – Showed promise last spring before coming off the boil. Unplaced on re-entry here earlier in the month and is not a concern
- MILLE SABORDS DIVO – Sent for a break after winning a pair during the summer. Is here for reasons of conditioning and can be ruled out
- MACHUCAMBO – Promising colt but has just one run in him following a lengthy layoff and is going to need the race
- MAESTRO DU CHOQUEL – Solid, reliable colt that was quickly eliminated in a 2700m Class A here on 21 November. Has otherwise been in wonderful shape and Paul Ploquin will be keen to set the record straight
- MONEY CASH – 5th of 6 finishers behind MIRAKALU MANAZIF (9) in a 2700m Class A here a month ago. Has little room for manoeuvre but can still get a look in
- MILORD JAVRONNAIS – Won a pair in the provinces before running 4th in monte Gr.1 Saint Leger des Trotteurs on 11 October. Has not raced since but will have been prepared for this and is unlikely to disappoint
- MISTER CHARLY – Has taken his game to another level since September. Is plainly enjoying a rich vein of form and can play a leading role
- MIRAKALU MANAZIF – Fine future prospect that has climbed the category-ladder in good order. Is new to the distance but has shown his versatility and looks the main threat to MAKE YOUR DAY (10)
- MAKE YOUR DAY – Beaten only once in 6 career starts. Is undefeated in 2 starts over 2175m here should logically take all the beating
Summary: A star on the rise, MAKE YOUR DAY (10) has picked up this season where he left off last February, winning nicely at Graignes prior to dominating a Class B over course and distance early last month. He won his only start with Eric Raffin reining and looks thoroughly capable of confirming. He would be wise to be mindful though of MIRAKALU MANAZIF (9) who has been knocking at the door, and MISTER CHARLY (8) who finished on his tail here 9 days ago. MAESTRO DU CHOQUEL (5) was never at his ease here a month ago, but has had time to recalibrate and is in his category.

C2 – PRIX DE LIMAY – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class D – Mounted – EUR € 46,000 - KRACOTTE GIRL – Steps back up in category after running 3rd in a Class F over course and distance early this month, but still has more to find
- MADELEINE FLEVO – Makes Vincennes debut after a string of good performances at home in Germany. Won her sole start under the saddle, but faces a tougher lot here and looks a minor place prospect at best
- ETOILE DU OZ – Has not been seen out since running unthreatening 5th of 11 in a Class D under these conditions in early-October, and is unlikely to trouble the judge
- ORLANDO VIVA – Has struggled under harness since coming to France last winter. Goes barefoot for monte debut but still not a concern
- KAVIASE – Tricky sort that lost her action in a Class D over course and distance 3 weeks ago. Has only her own sex to contend with this time and, with application, can wrap this up
- KOMEDIE SOMOLLI – Useful mare that ran 3rd of 12 in a Class D over track and trip on 17 November and must be taken more seriously this time. First 5
- PERFECT – Takes to the monte code for first time after prepping at Jagersro a month back. Is confirmed over the main track and with Paul Ploquin drafted in for her ridden bow, is unlikely to disappoint
- KERIDA DE VIVOIN – Ran courageous 5th behind KOMEDIE SOMOLLI (6) in a Class D under these conditions on 17 November. Sports front pads this time but can still pick up some prizemoney
- KELLY D’ESSARTS – Capable mare with references at this level. Will have progressed for her re-entry run and can make the frame this time
- KAYA DU SAPTEL – Facile winner of a Mauquenchy harness Class E 2.5 weeks ago, her first victory since July 2023, and Pierre-Yves Verva can be confident of a competitive run. Place chance
Summary: Quite the revelation under the saddle last winter, KAVIASE (5) gave a very good account of herself here late last month after having been eliminated, and Alexandre Abrivard will be out to set the record straight. She will still be pitted against Swedish monte debutante PERFECT (7) who left a favourable impression under harness here in August, and KELLY D’ESSARTS (9) who will have come on for last month’s comeback. Also new to the ridden code, KAYA DU SAPTEL (10) sports a new configuration for the occasion and in current form is easy to recommend.

C3 – PRIX DE CONCHES – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 35,000 - MARVELOUS PIYA – Starts for the first time since July. Has shown better potential racing right-handed but is still worth monitoring
- METSUYANE ERA – Blows hot and cold but reassured, despite being denied a run, at Amiens on 26 November. Alexandre Abrivard back in the bike and will be competitive if he keeps her out of trouble
- MILKA DES THUYAS – 6th of 12 here on 13 November before coming 4th, a place behind METSUYANE ERA (2), at Amiens 2 weeks later. Is clearly capable and has a decent chance of making first 5
- MAMZELLE D’HERIPRE – Would have finished considerably closer than 5th over course and distance recently had she assured her initial strides. Is patently in excellent shape and from the 4-spot can impose
- MILADY DE MONTCEAU – Ran a close 2nd at Cabourg prior to being eliminated in 2 straight here. Has never delivered at Vincennes but should not be too far from the action if she stays in stride
- MISS LADY D’ALESA – Well-beaten over the short track here on 4 November, but then ran 3rd of 10 in a Chartres Class E 3 weeks later. Is not an obvious choice but should not be written off either
- MICHKA – Oddly lacklustre 8th of 11 finishers in a Class E over track and trip a month back. Has shown potential and can express it if she takes to the new profile
- MAKINA DANICA – Unremarkable filly that has never shown any liking for the main track under harness and is not about to reproduce her recent monte performance
- MARINA SOMOLLI – Produced a pair of fine performances before failing to deliver behind MAMZELLE D’HERIPRE (4) here on 5 December. Was beaten only by a black-type element at Laval and can go close if she runs to the same mark
- MONANZA CASTEL – Lost her action early over the inner course a month ago. Had previously run 2nd under the same conditions in late-October, but takes on a better lot this time and chances appear limited
- MEGAFLECHE – Sent for a break after winning a brace last June. Made little impact on re-entry and appears to need another run
- MAZERATI PAJJ – Steps up in category after some solid efforts in the claiming division, and looks to be biting off more than she can chew
Summary: Superior at Reims late last month, MAMZELLE D’HERIPRE (4) put in a good showing here a fortnight ago even though having lost considerable ground at the start, but could well win this if she gets off on the right foot. METSUYANE ERA (2) was very unlucky at Amiens 3.5 weeks ago and looks the main threat. MARINA SOMOLLI (9) finished last but one behind the Derieux filly here recently but is plainly better than that and will be no pushover if Mathias Dudouit successfully negotiates the start. Dependable for the most part, MICHKA (7) was less performant over the inner track last month, but should find these conditions more to her liking.

C4 – PRIX DE STRASBOURG – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class B – Harness – EUR € 75,000 - GUERRIER CASTELETS – Has returned from his spell in good shape, latterly 4th in a 2850m Class D here 8 days ago, but is being aimed too high this time
- GAZ D’OCCAGNES – Sprang a 65-1 surprise when 4th of 15 in a 2850m Class D here earlier in the month, however in this company will have too much to do
- HOLD UP DU DIGEON – Ran 2nd in a Nantes Gr.3 in early-November but has twice failed to confirm and others preferred
- HAPPYJO DE LIGNY – Reverts to a previous formula after running 7th behind FURIOSO FLIGNY (8) in a 2100m Class B here last Saturday, but has little chance of improving on that
- HOLD UP DU SAPTEL – Did everything asked of him on first objective of the winter, coming 4th of 11 in a 2850m Class B on 10 December. Is unlikely to win this but can still make first 5
- HIMBERLAND – Made it 4 Quinte+ wins of the 2nd semester when clinching victory under these conditions on 8 November. Jean-Michel Bazire at the helm this time and is unlikely to disappoint
- GIMS DU PLESSIS – Tricky individual that won a Class B under these conditions in October. Came 6th in the race of reference and on good behaviour can make his presence felt
- FURIOSO FLIGNY – Not often said about a 10yo but he has turned a corner in recent months, placing in a Gr.3 prior to running 2nd in a 2100m Class B a week ago, and is not to be underestimated
- HEADSCOTT – Serious trotter that won a Class B over course and distance on 22 November, beating a number of these, and in similar shape can make this his own
- GINO VIVA – A Cagnes Gr.3 winner last winter but has not been quite as sharp since and must raise his game
- HARISON DU PLESSIS – Good, consistent servant that ran 5th to HEADSCOTT (9) in a Class B over course and distance on 22 November. Thrives with Eric Raffin in the bike and although unlikely to impose, can nevertheless finish in the thick of things
- HURRICANE CARTER – Somewhat made up for his misfortune in race of reference when 4th in a 2850m Class B a fortnight ago. Appears to be close to his race and will be expected to contest the finish
- HERADAMES – Ran 5th under these conditions in late-September but was trounced in the race of reference and can expect to have few friends in the markets
- GRAND TRIO LUDOIS – Simply superb until late-summer but slightly less performant recently. Takes a dip in category after latest Gr.3 run and can challenge for a place on the podium this time
- HERO SIBEY – Fine campaigner with nothing to prove under these conditions. Has been off since late-September but is shod to preference for comeback and will have his supporters
- FLEURON D’ACADIE – Nicely-engaged at the limit of earnings but is preparing for a campaign in the other code and can be passed over
Summary: A tough nut when he gets to the front early, HEADSCOTT (9) put in a fine performance to clinch a similar event here a month ago, and has a reasonable chance of doubling his money. Lady Luck was not smiling on HURRICANE CARTER (12) that day but he showed marked improvement next time and will be no easy touch. Already 6 times a winner in 2025, GRAND TRIO LUDOIS (14) drops in category and should prove more competitive than he was at Chatelaillon in early-November. HIMBERLAND (6) defied his odds here last month and JMB will take over in the bike. HOLD UP DU SAPTEL (5) held his own in good company here 10 days ago and, in similar shape, can again finish in the mix.

C5 – PRIX DE PIERREFONDS – 2175m (a1m1/4) – Class C – Harness – EUR € 46,000 - LINNA DE VANDEL – Put in a good finish to come 5th in a 2700m Class D in late-October, but lost her action next time. Has been reconfigured, receives and Anthony Barrier drive this time, and with application should not be far off the mark
- L’ETOILE – Showed improvement when 4th in a 2700m Class C here in early-October, but has not been seen since and with shoes on will have nothing to offer
- LOLA DU CAMPUS – Useful on a good day but has looked very ordinary lately and has a lot more to find
- LORELEI DE REUX – Sprang quite a surprise when 3rd in a Class C over 2700m here 10 days ago. Benjamin Rochard takes over and, unbeaten in 2 starts over course and distance, must be taken very seriously
- LERIKA DU CHENE – Excellent during the summer but unplaced in last 2, latterly last of 13 behind LAGUNE PIYA (7) in a 2850m Class C a month ago. Placed just once in 3 starts over 2175m here though and others easier to back
- LOVE ME AGAIN – Steps up in category after winning a 2700m monte Class D here 2 weeks ago. Shoes back on though and best to hold off
- LAGUNE PIYA – Put in a fine performance in a 2700m Class C here 10 days ago despite losing her action. Has previously won under these conditions and with application can play an active role
- LUMINOUS STAR – Can prove a handful but showed her form before being eliminated in a 2700m Class C here 10 days ago, and on better behaviour could well win her first race since imposing on her debut in October 2023
- LOVELY DU VALLON – Ran good 4th in a 2100m Class C here on 24 October, but failed to repeat when last of 13 behind LAGUNE PIYA (7) in a 2850m Class C a month ago. Appreciates these conditions though and cannot be ruled out
- LUNELLA LEMAN – Quality filly with a lot going for her here. Held her own in good company here late last month and will be expected to garner the lion’s share of support
Summary: LUNELLA LEMAN (10) has already beaten most of this field, drops in category after pleasing in a Class B here 3 weeks ago, and given the entry, looks the pick this time. LUMINOUS STAR (8) was full of running when eliminated here recently and with application could well impose. LAGUNE PIYA (7) suffered a similar fate that day and the same caveat applies. LORELEI DE REUX (4) ran a courageous and creditable 3rd on that occasion and will not be available at 121-1 this time.

C6 – PRIX D’EVREUX – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class C – Harness – EUR € 53,000 - KWALITA SUPREME – Gave a good account on first objective of the meeting, running 3rd in a Class E over track and trip early this month, but takes on a superior lot this time and chances limited
- KARVINA D’ELA – Showed improvement on 2nd start back when 5th in a Class C over course and distance early last month, however a repeat seems improbable
- KHAMSA – Would have finished closer in a Class B over course and distance 2 months ago had she been afforded a run. Is possibly race-rusty though and others easier to back
- KRAKANTE – Disappointing in last 3 starts, latterly when 6th in race of reference, and is unlikely to influence the outcome
- KARLA DE BANVILLE – Set her personal best time 2 weeks ago when 4th in race of reference but will find this opposition considerably tougher
- KETAMINE D’UZE – Like a horse transformed since starting to race in current configuration. Was going well when eliminated in a 2100m Class D here 2 weeks ago, and Gabriele Gelormini will be eager to put things right
- KENNEDY STREET – Has been in flying form since early-October, was most unlucky here 2 weeks ago, and if Eric Raffin keeps her out of trouble she should be in a position to contest the finish
- KUNAMATATA – Won a Class E under these conditions on 8 November, most recently came 3rd, a place behind KLASS HAUFOR (13), in a 2100m Class D here a fortnight ago, and if kept focused can finish in the mix
- KASSIOPEIA – 2nd to KAROLENE D’ETANG (10) here on 17 November before running 4th over 2700m here 11 days later. Is not about to create an upset but should nevertheless hold her own
- KAROLENE D’ETANG – Has returned to the capital in super form, opening her winter account over course and distance on 17 November, and even though moving up in category still looks competitive for a first-5 payout
- KLASSICA BLEUE – Complicated but quality mare that opened her Vincennes account in September. Is quite evidently better than the field and with application should have this in the bag
- KYOKA BOCNEUF – Solid for most of the year but well-beaten in last 2 and must first reaffirm
- KLASS HAUFOR – Did everything asked of her in 6 December race of reference, beating a number of these. Has already won twice over 2700m here and will be expected to give this a good go
- KALINE DE FAEL – Wonderfully reliable filly that latterly stormed up on monte debut in a Class D over track and trip on 17 November, and returns to the harness code with a reasonable chance of finishing in the money
- KYNTE FLUSH – Hardy mare but has just the one race under her belt since July. Competitively shod this time but would be preferred over shorter
- KAHIA DE LA CROIX – Ran 5th, a place behind KASSIOPEIA (9), in a Class C over course and distance despite losing considerable ground early. Has never won at this level but is patently in good shape and will be afforded every chance
Summary: She may never be far from faulting but KLASSICA BLEUE (11) has talent in spades; she showed her form here a month back and in this company looks the pick of the field. KETAMINE D’UZE (6) though won on re-entry in late-October, can be forgiven her recent elimination and, barefoot for the first time, will have her chances. Back at the top of her game, KENNEDY STREET (7) was denied a run here recently and will be reunited with Eric Raffin for whom she has never failed to deliver. KAHIA DE LA CROIX (16) is very hard to knock when barefoot and focused, and appreciates these conditions.

C7 – PRIX JULES LEMONNIER – 2175m (a1m1/4) – Gr2 – Mounted – EUR € 120,000 - JOY ALISSA – Has done nothing of note under the saddle since winning at home in Sweden in late-September and is unlikely to shake things up
- ILLUSION JIPAD – Makes first monte appearance for 3 years. Pleasant 5th in Gr.2 GNT Final 3 weeks ago but still not an obvious choice
- JE M’ENVOLE – Impressive winner of the 2850m Gr.2 Prix Paul Buquet here late last month. Races with shoes this time but bear in mind that he has previously won a Gr.2 under these conditions when shod, and must not be underestimated
- EROS ZOLA – Has been excelling in both disciplines recently, lastly dominating a 2100m Class A here earlier in the month. Won his only start over course and distance and boasts a 75 percent win-rate under the saddle. Chance
- FULTON – Has won no fewer than 6 times over track and trip, is barefoot for the occasion, and will be expected to bring the fight to IDEALE DU CHENE (9)
- JEAN BALTHAZAR – Ran valiant 3rd to JE M’ENVOLE (3) in 2850m Gr.2 Prix Paul Buquet here late last month. Is similarly shod this time and with application should prove competitive for a first-3 cheque
- INA DU RIB – Classy mare with the Cornulier firmly on her agenda. Is no slouch when shod but still represents no more than a minor place chance
- HIRONDELLE DU RIB – Quickly lost her action in Prix Paul Buquet on 27 November. Has not raced barefoot since winning Gr.1 Prix Henri Desmontils last March and is unlikely to spring any surprises
- IDEALE DU CHENE – Fine campaigner with the Cornulier as her next big target. Imposed 12 months ago and looks to have the advantage once again
Summary: Given significant time to get in shape for the winter meeting, IDEALE DU CHENE (9) ran 2nd in the Gr.2 Prix Paul Buquet on her first objective of the season. She will have come on for the run and can impose for the second straight year. JE M’ENVOLE (3) was responsible for her defeat that day and even though shod can still figure prominently. That said, he will most likely have to defer to a barefoot FULTON (5) who thrives over 2175m here, and the evergreen EROS ZOLA (4) who has not put a foot wrong since the autumn.

C8 – PRIX DE LECTOURE – 2850m (a2m) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 49,000 - IN AMERICA – Has done nothing but disappoint since running 3rd at Reims last April and has no realistic chance
- HIJO MOKO – Modest element with one race in him since the break. Is barefoot this time but has no place racing in this company
- IGLOO DE BEAULIEU – Unable to confirm Paray-le-Monial victory when outclassed in a Vire Class E 2 weeks ago. Has never shown any liking for Vincennes conditions and can be confidently passed over
- JEANNOT BUISSONAY – Sprang something of a surprise at Reims before taking on too much at Mauquenchy. Has form under these conditions though and cannot be ruled out
- IBIS D’AUVRECY – Decent trotter that placed in a claimer here during the autumn but is clearly taking on too much this time
- IVO LE COUP – Useful on a good day and is as versatile as they come. Sports 4 pads for the first time though and not an obvious choice
- INDY DE MAI – Moved yards after winning 2 of last 3. Sports a new configuration and the front-row break will do his chances no disservice
- JASMIN VIVANCIERE – Failed to live up to expectations when eliminated in a Mauquenchy Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Seldom lets the side down at Vincennes and the front-line start bodes well for his chances of finishing close
- IFALCO DE MAY – In the frame in 3 of last 4, most recently running 3rd in a Caen Class E in mid-November. Enjoys a fine entry in front, with a top pilot at the helm, and should not be overlooked
- INSERT DES MONTS – Tricky element that has been off the boil for past 2 years. Unconvincing on re-entry and is not about to create an upset
- JACKMAN – Just missed out to JAG HAUFOR (13) for 2nd in a Class E here 2 weeks ago. Subsequently eliminated but form is sure and Tristan Ouvrie will be mindful to keep him focused
- JAGUAR DE LAUMAC – Got back in the game when 2nd of 12 in a 2400m Amiens Class E 3.5 weeks ago. Below-par in latest Vincennes appearances but in current form is still worth retaining
- JAG HAUFOR – Has been dynamic since the spring and particularly performant when barefoot. Has solid form under these conditions and will have JOSHUA PEJI (14) in his cross-hairs
- JOSHUA PEJI – Terrific campaigner when applied, and is proven over 2700m here. Benefits from a good entry and Yoann Lebourgeois will be keen to make hay. Claim
Summary: Quite simply a case of all-or-nothing, JOSHUA PEJI (14) outclassed the opposition under the saddle here early this month only to lose the race in the stewards’ room, but can more than make amends if Yoann Lebourgeois keeps him trotting. He will be justifiably wary though of JAG HAUFOR (13) who has been knocking at the door, and JACKMAN (11) who is considerably better than recent numbers would suggest. JASMIN VIVANCIERE (8) returns to a track he appreciates, starts in front, and will be expected to make up for his Mauquenchy clinker.

C9 – PRIX D’ANDERNOS-LES-BAINS – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 35,000 - MUNCH CLUB – Modest individual that has done nothing of note for some months and can be ruled out
- MONSEIGNEUR MADRIK – Took little time getting back in shape following the spell, latterly winning a Graignes Class E unopposed in late-October. Starts from the 2-spot and on good behaviour will be competitive for a place in the picture
- MISTER D’ECROVILLE – Was by no means disgraced on re-entry when 7th of 11 in a Mauquenchy Class E late last month. Will have come on for the run but still represents no more than a minor place chance
- MAMBO DRY – Has buckets of ability but also a temperament. Left a good impression here on 4 December before being eliminated and can play a leading role if he deigns to keep his action together
- MAESTRO BEHEM – Has started to get back in form, latterly 4th of 15 in a 2700m Class E here early this month. Handed a good draw and will not be available at 73-1 this time
- MARQUIS SOMOLLI – Should not be too hastily-judged for last month’s effort over the inner course. Has form going both directions and can get in on the action if he takes to the new profile
- MODJO CHEF – Gave a better account of himself when 7th behind MAESTRO BEHEM (5) in a 2700m Class E here on 4 December than his 7th place would suggest. Breaks in front, with Eric Raffin reining, and should figure prominently at the business end of the race
- MITCH DE GRANOU – Respectable monte type starting for first time since August and will have other ambitions
- MATCHO MESLOIS – Showed promise during the summer but subsequently lost his way. Has placed over the main track though and, while not a priority, is still worth monitoring
- MYAGO CAYENNAIS – Yet to get off the mark and can prove a handful. Has just the one run under his belt since the layoff and will not be given a hard race
- MAGNOLIA DES ARRIS – Talented colt that failed to make any impression on re-entry at Le Croise-Laroche in late-October. Has had ample time to get back in shape and can challenge for a place on the podium this time
- MAGIC JOHN – Tricky but progressive sort that lost his action in a 2200m Class E here 11 days ago. Is clearly in prime condition and, with application, can open his metropolitan account
Summary: MAGIC JOHN (12) may have been eliminated in his last 2 starts but is quite obviously a talented individual. He gets a crack at the main track this time and, even though not ideally-drawn, can bring home the bacon, provided of course that Paul Ploquin gets him off on the right foot. Also still rather green, MAMBO DRY (4) is better-placed behind the car and was competitive before being eliminated here earlier in the month. MONSEIGNEUR MADRIK (2) races for the first time since imposing at Graignes in late-October, has been entrusted to Alexandre Abrivard for the first time, and is not incapable of picking up where he left off. Put away after winning a pair last May, MAGNOLIA DES ARRIS (11) will have come on for his return run and, in spite of a 2nd line draw, can make a big splash if he takes to the new profile.

Summary: FOREST DU PECOS AA (1) was unbeaten over fences until he was third behind SHIVA DE CANDALE AA (4) over 4200 metres at Mont-de-Marsan, but the shorter distance today should suit him better, and he can reverse the form. SHERKARA AA (6) has scored on the last two runs and can make the selection work hard. LOKI DE LA BRUNIE AA (3) was second in the same race behind SHIVA DE CANDALE AA (4) on November 15th and can also have a say at the business end.

Summary: FEUILLE VERTE (1) has been in decent shape of late with a win and three placed performances. Her latest third was at Lignieres late in November in a Class 3 cross-country. KANELLE COLLONGES (8) could be the main threat. She was a credible sixth in a competitive Class 2 cross-country at Compiegne in late October when last seen, and is capable of a good run. FIRST MARVEL (4) scored two runs back in a Class 2 cross-country and can make the top three. BUCK’S FIZZ (5) makes up the shortlist.

Summary: INLANDSIS (3) has been highly tried since a good fourth on his debut at Auteuil over hurdles in September. His fourth at Compiegne in a Class 2 chase late in November was encouraging, and he can be too smart for SAINT GENY (8), who tries fences for the first time today. He scored over hurdles in May on debut and looks like the type to do well in this code. HELSINJO (2) finds it hard to run a bad race and looks solid each way. DIAMANT DU RHEU (4) is also worth a mention.
