C1 – PRIX DU HOME – 2500m (a1m1/2) – ALL WEATHER – Class 4 – Flat – EUR € 14,600

  1. ODIN NORMANDY – A solid 3rd in a Handicap over 2400m at Pornichet on 28 December, one length behind SOGYNT (2). Rarely far off but he does carry top weight and is drawn widest
  2. SOGYNT – Caught close home when 2nd in Handicap over 2400m at Pornichet on 28 December. An ultra-consistent performer, he should be in the firing line once again
  3. KEEN APPROACH – A decent 3rd in a Claimer over this course and distance on 17 December. She faced stronger last time and looks the one to beat
  4. RECOLETTY – Disappointed when 12th in a Handicap over this course and distance on 22 December. Will need to find more but three runs back did win over the track and trip
  5. NOUSDEUX – Comes off a victory in a Handicap over this course and distance on 22 December. Won her penultimate start as well and a third successive triumph could be a reality
  6. LAKE NAIVASHA – An improved 2nd in a Claimer over 2500m at Nancy on 30 November. Has not really run well on this surface so could struggle
  7. EXCESSIVENESS – A gratifying Handicap performance to finish 7th over this course and distance on 22 December. If things go her way she should be a strong contender
  8. LAVIRCA DODVILLE – Finished 11th in a Handicap over this 2500m at Deauville on 22 December. Will need to up her game to make any impression
  9. CORONADO – A promising 6th in a Handicap over this track and trip on 22 December. That was his comeback from a short break and with an apprentice allowance he rates upset material
  10. FIRSTMAN – Finished 7th in a Claimer over this track and trip on 17 December. He does look well held by KEEN APPROACH (3) on that effort but could place
  11. KING COBRA – Ran 8th in a Claimer over this track and trip on 17 December. Looks held by others on that last performance
  12. HENRIETTA BLACK – Faded out badly when 13th in a Handicap over 2700m at Chantilly on 6 December. Jockey was questioned but said she just ran out of steam in the back stretch and the course vet could find no physical problem
    Summary: KEEN APPROACH (3) showed up well over this course and distance last time against better rivals and looks ready to win. EXCESSIVENESS (7) will probably need a strong pace so she can run at them late and will be a danger if the race is run to suit. NOUSDEUX (5) has won her last two and is in top form but will be fully tested in this field. SOGYNT (2) rarely runs a bad race on this surface and looks likely to fight out the finish once again.

  17. JOHN STYLE – Never in contention when 9th in a Handicap over 1700m at Pornichet on 26 December. Drops in distance and does not have the form to be a threat
  18. EL MEASTRO – Unlucky when 9th in a Handicap over 1700m at Pornichet on 26 December. Was blocked at a vital stage but ran on well. His penultimate run was a 4th over 1400m at this course so he could cause a surprise
  19. SPEED HUNTER – A moderate 7th in a Handicap over 1600m at Chantilly on 27 December. He would be hard-pressed to feature in this event
  20. PIETER DE HOOCH – Has not been seen in action since finishing 6th in a Handicap over 2000m at La Teste on 27 July. Is likely to be in need of a run
  21. SIXTUS – A poor 8th in a Claimer over this track and trip on 6 December. Recent form has been poor
  22. KAMETA – A respectable 3rd over 1500m at this track on 17 December. Was a winner over track and trip three runs back and has remained competitive
  23. ITAEWON – Did well to finish 3rd in a Handicap over 1600m at Chantilly on 27 December. Has had good results with Amandine Duquesnoy in the irons and can do so again
  24. TOLLARD ROYAL – Finished 6th in a Handicap over 1500m at this course on 17 December. He is an unlikely winner but could be involved in the Pick 5
  25. THE CAT’S – A decent 4th in a Handicap over 1500m at this course on 17 December. Is in good form but would probably need further to be at his best
  26. SYMBOLE – Finished 4th in a Handicap over 1500m at this course on 17 December. That was a fair effort but he could battle in this line-up
    Summary: Doing his best work late last time, COUR DU ROI (1) has landed the perfect opportunity to go one better. Judging on the betting support last time JESS LIVERMORE (4) was clearly expected to run well but disappointed. He is better than that run. COSTARMORICAIN (3) won last time out in first-time blinkers but could battle with the 3kg penalty. ITAEWON (11) drops in trip and will be hoping it will pay dividends.

  33. ELUSIVE FOOT – An excellent 2nd in a Handicap over this track and trip on 18 December. Had to overcome a wide draw and should be competitive again
  34. ON LOCKDOWN – Finished 4th in a Handicap over this course and distance on 18 December. Showed his versatilty coming off two good runs on grass to perform well on sand.

  39. FAVORY CHOP – Did well to run 3rd in a Handicap over this course and distance on 18 December. He has placed in his last three starts and should be in the mix once again
  40. SLEIPNIR NORMANDY – Won a Handicap over 1400m at this course on 3 December. Comes in with a light weight and with a good draw should run well
    Summary: RANCON ROYALE (1) has a lot in her favour this time, starting off with an excellent draw. She will also be fitted with blinkers this time and should be able to race more handily. IRISHKAMAYA (6) already has beaten the selection and although the conditions favour her opponent, there should not be much between them again. IDEE DE CHEVAL (12) should improve with Christophe Soumillon in the irons while ELUSIVE FOOT (7) could make up for a narrow defeat last time.

TAKEO (5) is an honest individual and is one of the leading contenders. ART PIECE (4) comes off a decent fourth-place finish at Lyon La Soie. The son of Elarqam is progressive type and should have a say in the outcome of this contest. CALLA FONDA (9) knows this course well and has experience. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, she can finish on the podium.

He then made a promising start over hurdles in December, winning by three lengths at this track. He is preferred to ME VOICI FOREZ AA (5), who finished fourth in the same hurdles race last month, having previously won in November.   10. KOWEIT DE CHENU – Impressive winner of a 2100m claimer on the main course on 29 December. Has been reconfigured but Charlène Bancel keeps the drive and will be dangerous if she manages to successfully negotiate the start

  13. JOG DE JAVIE – 4th in a claimer over the main track before making no impact at Pontchateau, and with pads fitted is unlikely to generate much interest
  14. KERGOMAR SIBEY – Capable but no champion in this category. Eliminated in 2 of last 3 starts and even though reconfigured still seems out of his depth
  15. JOKER DE VOUEDE – Has taken respectably to the claiming division but will need to improve on latest performance behind JOG DE JAVIE (13)
  16. JOURNEY – Previously a decent sort but has done nothing noteworthy for some time and is unlikely to influence the outcome
    Summary: Oddly below-par in a Class D over the main track, JISMIE GRIFF (2) has otherwise been in decent shape, has nothing to prove at this level, and from the 2-spot can bring home the bacon. JEAN MADRIK (1) is a claiming specialist that beat a number of these in November here and, barefoot from the front line, looks the principal threat. Sporting hind pads this time, KOWEIT DE CHENU (10) has been less fortunate with the draw but he flew up over the main track last week and is in with a shout of repeating. KLARCK DE VANDEL (12) ran 2nd to him that day and can figure prominently if he keeps his action together.

  24. NEMO DES CARREAUX – Has been knocking at the door over recent weeks and even though starting wide, he has a lot going for him and is unlikely to disappoint
    Summary: Barring just the one hiccup, NELSON SWIFT (6) has demonstrated decent aptitude and consistency, and in this small field enjoys a fine opportunity to get off the mark. That being said, NIKO DE TIMBOEUF (2) showed a liking for the inner course last month and will not be available at 14-1 this time. Runner-up in 3 of his last 4 starts, NEMO DES CARREAUX (8) goes left-handed for the first time but sports pads for the occasion and has been entrusted to Eric Raffin.

    Summary: An improving filly that ran a good 3rd under these conditions on Christmas Day, MANHATTAN D’AMER (7) will be competitively-shod for the first time and Eric Raffin can be forgiven for feeling bullish. The slightly more complicated, but no less-capable, MADEMOISELLE JOLIE (5) has been similarly reconfigured and showed late last month that she is close to her race. A place behind Charles Dreux’s horse last time, MUSE DE BEYLEV (4) sports a new formula and must be taken more seriously than she was that day. MAYA PONT VAUTIER (8) has shown considerable promise and will be barefoot for her Vincennes debut.

    Summary: Winner over the short course on monte debut a month ago, NICKEL DE BAILLE (6) is clearly a colt for the future but he may just have to play second fiddle to NEWTON DES ANDIERS (5) this time who should be more suited to the longer trip over the main track. NEWTON ELLIS (7) did not skip a beat on his ridden debut on Boxing Day here and a similar performance could well see him double his money.

  47. MALUMA D’ANGIS – Solid in 3 starts here before faulting early in a 2700m Class C on 28 December. Steps up in category but has not once failed to fire for his driver and will not be far off the mark
  48. MEYOU DU CAMPUS – Has done nothing but improve over recent months. Courageous here last month and takes on a better lot with shoes off and a good hand to play
  49. MAESTRO JAMINI – Not the easiest of horses to handle but form is not in question, and can make a big splash if David Thomain manages to keep him focused
  50. MELCHIOR JAMES – Quality trotter taking on a less-elevated bunch than he did here in early-November. Returns refreshed and, with shoes off for the first time, can win his first since December 2024
  51. MEA CULPA – Is no champion but ran 5th in a 2700m Class B here on 11 December. Is not about to spring a surprise but runs first-time barefoot and will be one to keep an eye on
    Summary: Given time to recalibrate and dropped down the category-ladder, MELCHIOR JAMES (9) races barefoot for the first time and should be good enough to win a race of this nature. He will be opposed though by the useful MAESTRO JAMINI (8) who benefits from wearing pads this time, and MEYOU DU CAMPUS (7) who showed great tenacity to win a Class C here 3.5 weeks ago. Reunited with Eric Raffin following his late-December conditioner, MALUMA D’ANGIS (6) will be competitively-shod this time and must be considered a contender.

  60. KALINE DE VIVOIN – Complicated but has form in both codes. Has previously won here in the day’s configuration and will have a lot to contribute if Paul Ploquin keeps her mind on the game
  61. KIKI AND CO – Back in his code of preference after prepping under harness. Won a Class B last time under the saddle and it would be no surprise to see him repeat
    Summary: A superb campaigner in this branch of the business, KIKI AND CO (10) boasts solid references under these conditions, enjoys a golden entry, and barefoot for the occasion will be expected to confirm last month’s success. Third that day after winning a pair over course and distance, KENYAN BLUES (7) will go unshod following his harness conditioner and with application will be no easy touch. KALINE DE FAEL (8) opened her monte account at the first time of asking, then repeated under harness, and the hat-trick is not out of the question. KOALA (4) dominated a Class D over track and trip recently and steps marginally up in category with a good card to play.

    Summary: LOU PRESTANCE (9) made up for his La Capelle elimination with a solid effort over the main track late last month and with Paul Ploquin drafted in for the occasion, clearly means business. In excellent shape, LITTLE BOY (10) thrives with Eric Raffin and makes his Vincennes bow with a decent chance of opening his Paris account. LUPIN DU BOURG (6) returns to racing barefoot after failing to deliver here early last month, and given the chance can make amends. Superbly-engaged at the limit of earnings, LINCOLN HAWK (11) will not be far off the mark if his driver keeps him trotting.

  80. LIZZANO D’ALOUETTE – Serious sort with a particular liking for these conditions, most recently missing out by a hair’s breadth to LOVER MAN (7). Hind shoes back on this time which may just be what the doctor ordered
  81. LA STAR ROC – Showed improvement on comeback when 5th to LOVER MAN (7) in a Class B over course and distance on 14 December. Fitted with pads this time though and others preferred
  82. LARA DU GOUTIER – Surprise 4th in a 2700m Gr.2 early last month before running 9th in Gr.1 Critérium Continental on 21 December. Not the fondest of 2850m over the main track but has ample class and can get in on the action

  84. LORD DELO – Serious type making first start since dominating a 2700m Class B here on 8 November. Is a Gr.3 winner under these conditions and looks set to take all the beating

  74. LAMBADA TURGOT – Did not show her best when 11th in Class D at Vincennes over 2700m on 21 November. Capable of better and should challenge for top honours
    Summary: LANDEN (7) put in a decent performance at Cagnes-sur-Mer last month. She should go one better this time around if repeating that effort at this track. LAMBADA TURGOT (9) is a lot better than what she showed last time out and would not be a surprise winner. LALA QUICK (6) has disqualification issues but is also capable of winning a race of this nature. LANDELINA (5) showed some improvement last time out and could also shine.

    Summary: A weak race and anything is possible. NAUSICA DE CORBERY (8) ran well on debut and improvement is likely, so gets a narrow nod to score. NEW ANNA’S PROJECT (1) has not been reliable but has done enough to be a threat to these rivals. NADJA D’OR (5) did not run too badly last time out and has scope for improvement, so must be respected for that. NEVITA LOVE JO (4) should also improve after just a fair debut and is another that can shine.

  93. KEEPING JYL – Not reliable and finished 6th in a class F harnesss race at this track over 2750m on 3 January. Victorious back in November and is not out of it
  94. KAISER DU CHATELET – Finished 11th in a Class D harness race at Bordeaux-Le Bouscat over 2650m on 26 December. Can bounce back to score under the saddle
  95. KLASSICA DESBOIS – Only modest of late and finished 7th in class D at Beaumont-de-Lomagne over 2400m on 19 December when barefoot. Needs to do more to score
  96. IDEAL DU GROIZEAU – Disqualified in class D at Vincennes over 2700m on 24 December. Consistent before that and is capable of winning if smart
  97. IMPULSIF D’AVENIR – Disqualified in class E at Montauban over 2400m on 28 December when barefoot. Is not racing without shoes this time and others make more appeal
  98. INFATIGABLE – Finished 11th in a Class E harness race at Bordeaux-Le Bouscat over 2550m on 4 January. Unreliable and needs to find a few lengths to win
  99. INCUDINE – Finished 6th in a class E mounted race at Bordeaux-Le Bouscat over 2650m on 26 December. On a long losing streak and others are preferred
    Summary: A very competitive lucky last race. KAISER DU CHATELET (6) did not show much in a harness race last month but will do better in this discipline and is capable of scoring. KIEFFER DE BLARY (3) faulted last time out in a harness race and is better under the saddle, so will be a real threat to these rivals. IDEAL DU GROIZEAU (8) had good form before getting disqualified at Vincennes and has claims in this line-up. KEEPING JYL (5) is unreliable but would not be a surprise winner.
