R1 MARSEILLE-BORELY [L-H]
C1 – GRAND NATIONAL DU TROT – 3000m (a2m) – Gr3 – Harness – EUR € 90,000
- JAGUAR DU FAN – Oddly disappointing in a 2150m Cagnes Class D early this month. Won a Gr.3 at Châtelaillon-La Rochelle last November but faces a stiffer test on this occasion
- KROONER D’HERIPRE – Kicked the year off with a hat-trick. Would have made it 4 on the trot had he not faulted 50m out and Romain Derieux will be eager to put things right
- HAJIME – Hardy servant that was surprisingly eliminated in a Cagnes Class B in late-February. Boasts excellent Borely references and from the front row can give this a good go
- GERSHWIN DE CHENU – Starts for first time since running 6th in a Cagnes Class C on 20 February. Is barefoot again but looks out of his depth
- JENTIL DIESCHOOT – Obtained his 2nd win of the year with a commanding Amiens Gr.3 victory 3 weeks ago. Is well-in once again and Alexandre Abrivard maintains faith. Attention
- ISEULT FLOWER – Honest mare that reassured in a Cagnes Class B a month back. Won her only start at the venue but is taking on too much this time
- JE TE CHERCHE – Superb campaigner that has not once finished out of first 2 when barefoot. Encouraged on re-entry, and with shoes off can make this his own
- HELIOS D’ELA – Has not been seen out since running 4th in a Vincennes Class C 2 months ago, at 50-1. A repeat seems unlikely
- JOLIVERT DU GERS – Serious campaigner that seldom disappoints at this level. Impressed at Cagnes earlier in the month and will be no shrinking violet
- INGRID TURGOT – Capable on a good day but has not been seen out since September and will need the race
- GREZ – Reassuring 4th in a Cagnes monte Class C 2.5 weeks ago. Here for a change of scenery and will have other ambitions
- KAPTAIN DU LIAMONE – Acquits himself well for the most part and most recently ran 4th to JENTIL DIESCHOOT (5) in the Amiens GNT stage 3 weeks ago. Is unlikely to get his nose in front but can nonetheless make first 5
- JAG STRYCK – Showed considerable improvement at Vincennes late-February despite being eliminated. Prepped at Laval, will be barefoot this time, and with application can pick up some prizemoney
- GRAND TRIO LUDOIS – Not as sharp as he was last summer but encouraged at Cagnes earlier in the month and, while not a priority, is still worth keeping an eye on
- IALTO D’HERTALS – Has done nothing but impress since last October. Has been entrusted to a good pair of hands and is unlikely to disappoint. Place chance
- HORCHESTRO – Capricious but talented element starting alone on 3rd row. Is in conditioning mode and best to hold off
Summary: Barefoot for his first objective of the spring after having given a fine account on his return to competition, JE TE CHERCHE (7) will start on the front row and has every chance of making his Borely debut a triumphant one. Theo Duvaldestin will still be legitimately wary of the tricky but classy KROONER D’HERIPRE (2) who is unbeaten in the day’s configuration, and the well-entered IALTO D’HERTALS (15) who has not put a foot wrong since the autumn. Dominant winner of the Amiens stage, JENTIL DIESCHOOT (5) makes his Borely bow with a good hand to play. JOLIVERT DU GERS (9) ran away with a Cagnes Class D last time out, is just pennies from being eliminated, and Matthieu Abrivard would not run him here if he didn’t have a realistic chance.

C2 – PRIX APRION – 3000m (a2m) – Class F Amateur Drivers – Harness – EUR € 8,000 - KAYAK – Has turned a corner since moving stables in December. Has come close more than once this term and is due a win one of these days
- KHAZAR DES CORVEES – Got back in the game with success at Hyeres prior to running 3rd in a Cagnes Class E in late-February. Sports pads this time but current form is still hard to ignore
- KEOPS DU CHATAULT – Has shown a different side to himself since starting to race without front shoes. Is clearly close to his race and will be well-backed to win this
- IZZIE PONCELET – Modest mare with just the one run in her since the winter break and is unlikely to spring any surprises
- ISBA BESNOT – Stormed up in an amateurs Class F over 2300m here 12 days ago. Takes on a better bunch this time however, and incurs the penalty, but still looks good enough to pick up a first-5 cheque
- JOLI MEC D’AMOUR – Has won 4 of last 5 barefoot starts, most recently at Cagnes on 17 February. Forced to start on 2nd row but is still a leading contender
- GLADIATOR DE NIMES – Honest trotter making first appearance since placing in a Toulouse Class F last October. Has yet to deliver at Borely and is unlikely to this time either
- HERMES SCOTT – Has been a complete write-off since November 2025 and will need to get his house in order
Summary: Runner-up at Vivaux in January, on his first appearance in the amateur division, KEOPS DU CHATAULT (3) has subsequently shown his form in the professional ranks and from the front line is easy to fancy for the win. Sophie Blanchetière will still be keeping one eye on amateur-category debutant KAYAK (1) who has similarly been knocking at the door. JOLI MEC D’AMOUR (6) flew up on his amateur debut here in November and is 25m worse off, but in current condition will be no soft touch.

C3 – PRIX BAR TABAC DES PLATANES – 2300m (a1m1/2) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 23,000 - NOISETTE MIKA – 3rd to NOUMEA COCONUT (2) in a Cagnes Class E on 20 February. Has ground to make up though and others preferred
- NOUMEA COCONUT – Won easily on 20 February before losing her action early this month. Trainer back in the bike and will be determined to set the record straight
- NILDA LAND – Tricky sort that was eliminated when never threatening in a Cagnes Class D 3 weeks ago, and is not about to create an upset
- NUBA DE PERVENCHE – Went close at Grenade-sur-Garonne in late-January, then ran 4th behind NOTTINGHAM ROYAL (5) at Cagnes a month later. Is unlikely to spice things up but should nevertheless hold her own
- NOTTINGHAM ROYAL – Facile winner at Lyon-La Soie before running 2nd to a serious colt at Cagnes a month back. Enjoys a good draw and will be well-backed to win this
- NEO WYNN – Eliminated as often as not but has ability. Caught the eye behind NECTAR DES LOYAUX (8) at Saint-Galmier a fortnight ago and, from the 6-slot will be expected to turn the tables. First 5
- NIMITZ D’HERIPRE – Excellent in first 2 starts before being sent for a spell. Is sure to have progressed for last month’s re-entry run and will be expected to contest the finish this time
- NECTAR DES LOYAUX – Useful sort that got back in the game at Saint-Galmier 2 weeks ago when 3rd in a 2600m Class D. Not ideally-drawn though and more a minor place chance this time
- NINO DE TIMBOEUF – Decent future prospect that was eliminated early at Chartres 10 days ago but nevertheless showed his form. Alexandre Abrivard in the bike this time and can finish close if he assures his colt’s initial strides
- NOUMEA D’AMOUR – Eliminated at Lyon-La Soie earlier in the month after having run 2nd in Bordeaux. Has been reconfigured but still looks an outsider
Summary: Like a different horse since the turn of the year, NOTTINGHAM ROYAL (5) is reunited with Theo Briand who steered him to victory in Lyon, and the colt’s Cagnes performance will stand him in good stead. Winner under these conditions on his debut, the promising NIMITZ D’HERIPRE (7) will have come on for his return run and looks the main threat. Even though she lost her action earlier in the month, NOUMEA COCONUT (2) is clearly in good shape and looks competitive once more. NINO DE TIMBOEUF (9) will have his chances if he gets off on the right foot.

C4 – PRIX HORCHESTRO – 2300m (a1m1/2) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 23,000 - MADE IN ATALANTE – Eliminated in 4 of 5 starts this year. Is not devoid of ability but still has nothing to contribute in this category
- MAGIC DOLLAR – Got straight down to business on comeback, winning a Vivaux Class E on 13 February. Takes on a better bunch this time however and not an obvious choice
- MOONLIGHT DANICA – Imposed at Cagnes on 20 February then ran 4th in a Class A at the same venue 2.5 weeks ago. Takes a dip in category and will not be available at 51-1 this time
- MOJITO CASTELETS – Sports front pads for the first time, having returned to competition 2 weeks ago. Benefits from a good spot behind the car and Steve Stefano will be eager to set the record straight
- MY WAY LEAGABIN – Acquits herself decently for the most part but was lacklustre at Cagnes a month back and even though reconfigured, still has too much to do
- MOZART SAUTONNE – Takes a drop in category after running 5th in a Vincennes Class C late last month. Matthieu Abrivard could not have asked for a better entry and will be determined to ensure that the long trip was worthwhile. Claim
- MANDARINA DE LOU – Not the most dependable of horses but showed her form at Vincennes on penultimate start. Sports a new formula here and despite the wide draw can still play a prominent part
- MEXICAIN – Won at Cagnes in early-February but oddly out of sorts next time. Has otherwise been hard to fault and Romain Derieux will be keen to set the record straight
- MAMBA DES DURIEZ – Has pleased for the most part at Cagnes this year but has little liking for the venue and can be passed over
- MICHIGAN HAWK – Excellent in 3 of 4 starts at the venue, including a pair of victories. Would prefer a better draw but is more competitively-shod this time and should not be overlooked
- MURO – Eliminated almost as often as not but has ample ability. Gets to race with front shoes off for first time and even from the 2nd row can make a big splash
Summary: MOZART SAUTONNE (6) makes his Borely debut after a couple of runs at Vincennes and, barefoot again, can redeem himself and win this. He will still meet opposition from a freshly-configured MURO (11) who will be dangerous if he stays trotting, and the complicated and also reconfigured MANDARINA DE LOU (7) to which the same caveat applies. MOONLIGHT DANICA (3) has taken his game to another level lately, sports modified shoeing, and from the 3 slot is easy to recommend.

C5 – PRIX FIESTA D’ANJOU – 3000m (a2m) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 30,000 - HYPOLIT DE BEL AIR – Moderate 5th in a Class E at Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne early this month. A repeat, however, seems most improbable
- HEOL LORIETTES – Has done nothing noteworthy since imposing at Thouars in August 2024 and can be confidently ruled out
- IMPACTDARCHE – 5th in an amateurs event at Cagnes 2 weeks ago. Starts in front, with front shoes off this time, but still has his work cut out
- ICE SCOTT – Can trot but reliability not his strong suit. Is well-engaged on the front row but will have too much to find
- INDESKAYA BIRD – Gave a good account at Cagnes prior to prepping shod here 12 days ago. Benefits from a front-line start and Junior Guelpa will be justifiably confident of a big run
- INCAHUASI – Showed improvement in a 2300m Class E here last Friday but incurs the penalty and is unlikely to spice things up
- HOUPETTE ROSE – Useful on a good day, and has 2 races under her belt since the break. Has decent references over course and distance but still represents no more than a minor place prospect
- HELECHO – Put on a good show at Saint-Galmier last week after 2 months out of competition. Despite the draw, has a lot going for him and looks to have a realistic claim on the race
- IBIZA EVENING – Produced a pair of good efforts at Cagnes before enduring a poor trip in Paris. Has pulled a rough number but is back under conditions she appreciates and must be considered a contender
- IDEM JIHEM – Has looked decidedly ordinary for some time. Did please in both starts at the venue though, and will generate some interest, but faces a tougher task this time
- GALOPIN DE BIANCA – Failed to leave his mark at Saint-Galmier after having run 2nd on his Vincennes re-entry, but should not be too hastily-condemned. Starts on back row but still looks competitive for a place in the frame
- GO AWAY BIRD – Has not been seen out since November and with shoes fitted will have no possible chance
- ILLICO DU JAS – Very hard to fault when barefoot and focused. Is twice a winner here and with application can get in on the action
- HANA D’OCCAGNES – Got back in the game at Cagnes-sur-Mer a month ago when 3rd in a Class D. Benefits from a fine entry here and the engagement of Romain Derieux will do her chances no disservice
- GRISBI DU PERSIL – Fine campaigner that has struggled since December, but is barefoot for the occasion and it is just a matter of time before he starts to come good again
- GAJAC – Unexceptional trotter that has failed to make much of an impression since returning from a lengthy hiatus. Enjoys a fine entry but still has limited chances
Summary: This is a fairly open contest but it is still hard to ignore HELECHO (8) who gave a fine account at Saint-Galmier a week ago on his first start for David Alexandre. He will be partnered by Matthieu Abrivard for the occasion, sports modified shoeing, and looks capable of winning a race of this nature. Unplaced behind him that day after having placed twice at Vincennes, GALOPIN DE BIANCA (11) can be brought back into the fold, however he may first have to see off IBIZA EVENING (9) who has nothing to prove under these conditions, and the in-shape INDESKAYA BIRD (5) who enjoys a 25m head-start.

C6 – PRIX KING BLACK – 3000m (a2m) – Class D – Mounted – EUR € 35,000 - HORACE – Has not been seen out since winning a Vivaux Class E on 18 January. Goes barefoot again and a repeat seems unlikely
- REDBULL PELLINI – Has taken well to French conditions and tries her hand under the saddle this time. Failed to fire in either monte start to date and others easier to back
- JEWEL D’HERMES – Particularly capable when barefoot and applied. Has 2 runs in him since the lengthy break, will be reconfigured for the occasion, and from the front row will be no pushover
- IRUN DU BOCAGE – Raced well to finish 5th of 18 in a Class D over course and distance on 13 March. Starts in front but a repeat seems unlikely
- INES D’HERMES – No champion but does have references in this branch of the business, and a return to the code may be just what the doctor ordered
- LORENZO BOKO – Had shown monte promise at home in Sweden before coming 3rd in a Cagnes Class C 2.5 weeks ago. Has a lot of ground to make up though and can be passed over
- IMPERIAL KEY – Has not been seen at Borely since 2022 but seldom disappoints in the discipline, last time the exception though. Will, however, be expected to bounce back and finish in the mix
- FIGHTER SIMONI – Quality element making first appearance for Dominik Locqueneux’s yard. Will have been specifically prepared for this and has the quality to win a race of this category
- HAPPY PACHA – 5th of 14 in a Vincennes Class D, on return to the code, early last month. Was going well before being eliminated here 12 days ago and has a reasonable chance of giving FIGHTER SIMONI (8) a run for his money
- HUMOUR FESTIF – Has been acquitting himself well over last 6 months, and the entry will only help matters. Place chance
Summary: The 2nd line is where it’s all at, with the returning FIGHTER SIMONI (8) who should have the measure of most here. He may not have been seen out since moving to his new yard last November but is not incapable of imposing at the first time of asking. HAPPY PACHA (9) made an encouraging return to the discipline at Vincennes early last month and looks a serious proposition. HUMOUR FESTIF (10) has been entrusted to Alexandre Abrivard and will have his chances. Bizarrely below-par last time out, IMPERIAL KEY (7) has otherwise been in fine shape since returning from his spell and in this category can contest a place on the podium.

C7 – PRIX GASPAR D’ANGIS – 2300m (a1m1/2) – Class C – Harness – EUR € 31,000 - LUCIFERMORNINGSTAR – Form has done nothing but regress since the start of the year and must get his house in order
- LAREDO BAY – Versatile mare making Borely bow after 2 fine runner-up runs at Vincennes. Comes here fresh, and from the 2-spot can have her way
- LE RETOUR VRIE – Not always the easiest of horses to use but ran out a comfortable winner of a Saint-Galmier Class D on 16 February and, with application, can repeat
- LEOPOLD – Quality individual facing first objective of the new season after a Lyon conditioner earlier in the month. Is new to 2300m here but has previously won at the venue, sports pads this time, and the draw will do his chances no disservice
- LAURELINA – Got off the mark for 2026 when winning a 2850m Feurs Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Is new to the venue, and steps up in category, but is still easy to like
- LOGAN JIEL – Previously a good sort but has made no impact for some time and is not about to change his ways
- LEADER DES RIOULTS – Useful element but has failed to deliver in last 2. Winner of his lone start here but must first re-establish his credentials
- LAZAN DE PASSIEU – Produced a hat-trick of wins over the winter months, including a facile course and distance victory. Takes a dip in category and looks a decent place prospect this time
Summary: Runner-up in her last 2, both at Vincennes, LAREDO BAY (2) takes to Marseille-Borely for the first time and could well win this if she takes to the new conditions. Theo Briand will still be mindful of LE RETOUR VRIE (3) who has won 2 of his last 4 starts, and the widely-drawn LAZAN DE PASSIEU (8) who has not put a foot wrong for some time.

C8 – PRIX MARCO BONHEUR – 2300m (a1m1/2) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 30,000 - IMPACT CASTELETS – Last but one in a Saint-Galmier Class F a fortnight ago and in this company has no realistic chance
- ISIS DE POULINE – Serious mare that goes particularly well in the day’s configuration. Is well-placed behind the car, left a good impression here last week, and is unlikely to be far from the action
- JUNON DE LOU – Returns to racing barefoot after finishing 7th behind KANAKA DE BUSSET (8) in a Cagnes Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Should appreciate the new conditions and from the 4 slot can play a prominent role
- HADORABLE MEC – Capable individual but has not been seen out since September and will be shod for comeback
- HUNIQUE – Put in a fine finish at Cagnes 2.5 weeks ago even though only 6th of 13. Appears to be nearing his best and the draw will only help his decent first-5 prospects
- IRON D’ERONVILLE – No slouch but tends to show more in the amateur division these days. Starts in front but sports pads this time and others easier to back
- KELMEC – It took a few runs to come good for new trainer but did so emphatically at Cagnes with 3 in a row. Has won at the venue and even in spite of the wide draw, still looks the one to beat
- KANAKA DE BUSSET – Not the most reliable of horses but put on a good show at Cagnes-sur-Mer 2.5 weeks ago and David Bekaert stays faithful. Place prospect
- JUST FOR YOU – Secured the hat-trick late last year but has looked rather ordinary since, latterly 8th behind ISIS DE POULINE (2) in a Class F here on 13 March, and with some luck in running can get a look in
- KAPORAL VISAIS – Sprang a 39-1 surprise when 3rd in a Cagnes Class A 2.5 weeks ago. In less-exalted company on this occasion, has shown a liking for Borely despite being disqualified last time here, and can give KELMEC (7) something to think about. Chance
- IBRA TEJY – Useful in his category but has been off the track since early-December and will have nothing to offer
- JAZZISSIME – Fine trotter but is preferred under the saddle and is here for reasons of conditioning
Summary: Winner of 1 of 2 starts here, KELMEC (7) changes venue after securing the hat-trick at Cagnes-sur-Mer; he starts wide but benefits from a terrific entry and it is hard to envisage him being bested. KAPORAL VISAIS (10) sprang something of a surprise in good company last time out and looks the principal threat. Better-placed in front, ISIS DE POULINE (2) reassured here mid-month and will not be far off the mark. KANAKA DE BUSSET (8) is new to Borely but a repeat of her recent Cagnes effort would see her finish in the mix.

Summary: A very tricky opening event. NEW LIFE (12) has shown some form in harness races and looks the type that could score on her mounted race debut. NANIELLE D’AVEL (1) is well bred and can be a threat to these rivals on her debut. NAVA DE BEYLEV (3) has not shown much so far, but there is talk about her and she could show vast improvement in this weak-looking race. NINA JAVO (14) showed improvement under the saddle and is another to consider.

- NAVAH MERCURY – Disqualified in a class D at Saint-Galmier over 2600m on 12 March. Consistent before that and could earn some money if smart
Summary: NUMBER ONE GAGOU (10) clearly has more wins in the tank and impressed on debut. That victory was over this course and distance and sets the standard for the race. NICE BOY BOURBON (5) also showed talent with his debut win and will not go down easily. NEVADA PIERJI (8) won well on debut but did not repeat that performance last time out. He must be respected, though. NOLIO DU BARBEY (6) proved no match for NUMBER ONE GAGOU (10) last time out but can make the frame.
