  28. MELANOURA – Not disgraced when 4th in class F at Le Croisé-Laroche over 2700m on 2 March. Has a place chance in this line-up
  29. MARWIN – Did not show his best when 6th at Mons over 2300m on 17 February. Capable of making the frame in this line-up
  30. MOGADOR DE LATZ – Needed his last run when 5th in class F at Feurs over 2850m on 8 March. Fitter now and should be right there at the finish
Summary: MURCIELAGO MIJO (4) has had some issues in her career so far but is talented and can bounce back to beat these rivals if showing her best form. MOGADOR DE LATZ (11) will be fitter after his comeback run and should be a threat. MAGNIFICA JOSSELYN (3) is not reliable but does finish well when in the mood and is not out of it. MARWIN (10) is better than his last run at Mons and is capable of making the frame.

Summary: An open-looking race. LOKI DE BEAUCAMPS (9) is talented and could take the win, though he returns from a lengthy break and his fitness is a question mark. LOCAL HERO (8) has been winning freely this year and will be a strong threat again. LEXOVIENNE (5) bounced back to form at Amiens and can improve further, while LESS TIME (3) is progressing and is another contender for the finish.

KIARHA DE NAPPES (15) also races without shoes and should be competitive once more. KATITZI (16) returns from a break but has talent and could easily spring a surprise. Summary: KATYUSHA (8) picked up a confidence-boosting win at La Capelle and could follow up over this track and trip. KISS ME JULRY (14) is better than her last run would suggest and will not go down without a fight for top honours. KIWI DU LOISIR (12) remains in good form and should be right there at the finish once again. Summary: A very tricky “lucky last” race. INDIEN D’HERIPE (8) has been disappointing this year but is capable of winning at this level and gets the narrow vote. INFLUENCE JULRY (10) has held her form well and will be right there at the finish once again. INKERMAN DE PLAY (2) has been consistent of late and should contest the finish once again. HARABICA (4) can improve and is capable of making the frame this track and trip.

C1 – PRIX DES ANYSETIERS – 2850m (a2m) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 35,000

  1. LOUISA D’ATOUT – Made up for a pair of eliminations when 2nd in a Vincennes Class B early last month, but is in conditioning-mode this time and is not a priority
  2. LEADER D’AIMTE – Given time to recalibrate after failing to deliver in a Vincennes Class B early last month. Has raced at Laval just the once but never in this configuration, and warrants respect
  3. KELYO DU SOLNAN – Has not been seen out since late-November. Did win under these conditions late last season though and will be associated with Eric Raffin for the first time. Chance
  4. KUNAMATATA – Kicked the year off with Cordemais success but rather disappointing in next 2 starts. Will be shod this time and can be passed over
  5. LEWIS RIVER – Has placed just once in last 7 starts. Was quickly eliminated in Paris a month ago and even though having subsequently comported himself well, is still not easy to recommend
  6. LILI DRY – Honest mare that was oddly below-par behind LORD TURGOT (7) in a Vincennes Class B a month back. Should appreciate the Laval profile however and is unlikely to return home empty-handed
  7. LORD TURGOT – Simply superb over recent months when barefoot, and is unbeaten here, but races shod this time and best to keep one’s powder dry
  8. KALINOU QUICK – Did everything asked of him for first target of the season, running 3rd in a Class D over course and distance on 5 March. Appears to have overcome his injury and from the front line is easy to fancy for a place in the frame
  9. LOVE GLYCINES – Held her own on re-entry in a Caen Class D on 12 March. The race will have done him good and, reverting to a successful formula, can put on a fine show from the front row
  10. LEMON TREE – Failed to confirm fine Caen performance when quickly eliminated in a Class A under these conditions 2.5 weeks ago. With application though, should be in a position to make his presence felt
  11. HELIOS SOMOLLI – Quality trotter making his first appearance since July 2025. Stays shod for comeback and will not be given a hard race
  12. HAMIGO – Terrific servant that is confirmed at Laval but will race with shoes this time and can be dismissed
  13. HAPPY FACE – Has evident ability and solid Laval references, but has not raced since last May and will not be troubling the judge
  14. GAGNEUR – Disappointing for much of 2025, including being trounced at Laval. Shoes on for first start following a spell and will have few friends
  15. FLYING BRICKELL – Modest veteran making first start for over 2 months and with shoes fitted has no possible chance
  16. ICARE DU VENT – Gave a fine account on return from his break when 5th in a Class D over track and trip early this month. Will have come on for the run and is worth keeping an eye on
  17. JUST DE L’OISON – Full of running when eliminated in a 2900m GNT Gr.3 at Amiens on 4 March. Is plainly in rude health though and on better behaviour can make this his own
  18. HARMONY LA NUIT – Disappointing for the most part before being sent for a spell and despite the good entry, will race shod and has nothing to offer
Summary: Occasionally a handful but otherwise a fine campaigner, JUST DE L’OISON (17) was going strong when eliminated on his comeback at Amiens earlier in the month and, nicely-engaged here, can more than make amends. Theo Duvaldestin will still want to be wary of front-row starters KELYO DU SOLNAN (3), who is barefoot with Eric Raffin reining, and a reconfigured KALINOU QUICK (8) who left a good impression here recently. LEMON TREE (10) will be shod as he was at Caen and can figure prominently if he gets off on the right foot. Well-in on the front line, LOVE GLYCINES (9) is competitively-shod for his first real objective of the season and, if fully-fit, can get in on the action.

  19. JOUTEUR D’AUGE – Capable on a good day but has just the one run in him since the layoff and even though barefoot, is unlikely to cause an upset
  20. IFF LOUZEEN – Has been a complete write-off for almost 12 months and will need to pull a rabbit out of his hat
  21. KHEOPS DE FREDLAU – Non-Runner
  22. I LOVE DU CHERISAY – Has returned to competition in cracking shape, and is clearly close to his race, but looks more a minor place prospect this time
  23. IXCES BUROIS – Seldom disappoints when focused but has not been seen out since September and will have nothing to offer
  24. JOUR ET NUIT – Should not be too hastily-judged for finishing unplaced last time out. Has bags of ability and returns to Laval with a lot to contribute. Place chance
  25. INCONTOURNABLE – Pulled off a 3-timer last winter then went completely cold. Is barefoot for return from a 3 months’ break but other still preferred
  26. IVAN DE L’ERDRE – Got straight down to business on comeback 3 weeks ago when dominating a Cordemais amateurs Class F. Won here last September when barefoot and, although unlikely to repeat, must still be respected
  27. JAGERBOMB – Has not raced since being found wanting here last September and would have better prospects at a lower level
  28. KOVES DU PONT – Was not totally fit when 5th of 16 in an Enghien Class D 2.5 weeks ago, but should be at the top of his game this time and has form in a superior category. Claim
  29. KONDOR – Last of 13 on comeback here on 5 March. Has had time to get his act together following a modest November and December. Has placed just once here but is going barefoot this time and, at this level, looks a player
  30. KRIS MARTIN – On paper, he may not be an obvious choice, but has raced and placed at a higher level and on good behaviour could well contest the finish
  31. KEL AIR D’EOLE – Has looked decidedly ordinary in both codes this term. Is considerably better in the other discipline and would be preferred barefoot
  32. IT’S CLASSIC ROCK – Form has done nothing but regress since imposing at Caen last autumn and is completely out of his depth
  33. IAGO DE SENOVILLE – Back under harness after having disappointed in the other code at Cordemais a month ago. Has not raced here since 2023 but cannot be discounted either
  34. JOURNAL INTIME – Fine campaigner that won over course and distance last November but stays shod for his first run of the year and will have little to contribute
Summary: KOVES DU PONT (10) showed improvement at Enghien even though he still looked a race shy. He has nothing to prove at this level though and can wrap this up. KRIS MARTIN (12) changes venue following a pair of Cagnes eliminations and will be dangerous if Gilles D’Haenens keeps him focused. JOUR ET NUIT (6) won 3 in a row before enduring a tough trip at Cordemais and Max Beauvais will be hoping to put things right. KONDOR (11) was given an easy race on re-entry here earlier in the month and, barefoot this time, can start to get back in the game.

  36. LATIFA OASIS – No slouch on a good day but has not raced since July and will be shod for the occasion
  37. LOVE PROFUSION – Moderate mare starting for first time since last October. Has no particular love for Laval and can be ignored
  38. LAIKA DU LEARD – Eliminated in a Class E over track and trip on first start back. Impressed more than once last season, starts in front, is barefoot for just the 2nd time, but represents no more than a minor place chance
  39. LIYAVA – Runner-up in 2 of last 4 but was eliminated here early last month. Has placed just once in 5 Laval starts but will have her supporters
  40. LIO D’AVEL – Eliminated in 2 of last 3 but is plainly in fine fettle. Entrusted to Benjamin Rochard for the first time and, sporting a fresh configuration, must be taken seriously
  41. LOLA DE CHENU – Never far from losing her action but ability is not in question. Came close to imposing at Reims a fortnight ago and will have a lot to contribute if Franck Nivard keeps her trotting
  42. LOUVE RANAISE – Serious mare that ran 3rd of 14 in a Lisieux Class F 2 weeks ago, on her first appearance since October 2024. The run will have done her good and looks to have a decent chance of making first 5
  43. LADY DE L’ELLE – Won 2 of 3 late last summer before being sent for a rest. Is shod for comeback and will have nothing to contribute
  44. LOUBIANA DU BOURG – Placed twice before being eliminated in a 2400m Amiens Class D early this month. Incurs the penalty here and will have few takers
  45. LIKE A PRAYER – Justifiably well-regarded mare that was most impressive on Caen re-entry early this month. Appears to be close to her best and, with her mind on the game, can impose
  46. LADY STARLIGHT – Eliminated early in a 2700m Cagnes Class D on return to the track on 10 February. Has already won under these conditions and is certainly worth retaining
  47. LOVINA PERRINE – Never the easiest of horses to gauge and has yet to make her mark this year, but returns to the provinces where she can begin to shine once again
  48. LAMATTA – Reassuring 3rd in a Class E over course and distance on 11 March. Has yet to win for the Sassier yard but, in present shape, is very easy to like
Summary: A fine mare that just keeps getting better, LIKE A PRAYER (11) was eliminated on her comeback at Caen earlier this month, but nevertheless showed excellent condition and, with application, can redeem herself and win this. Tony Le Beller can still expect to meet resistance from the nicely-engaged, and barefoot, LAMATTA (14) who ran 3rd over course and distance on her return to competition, and the better-placed and reconfigured LIO D’AVEL (6) who will be no pushover if Benjamin Rochard keeps her focused. LOLA DE CHENU (7) seldom disappoints when applied and has been knocking at the door this term.

  49. MEILLEUR KURYS – Form has done nothing but regress since starting to race barefoot. Shoes back on but still not a concern
  50. MONARQUE DU TRIEUX – Runner-up in a Class F over course and distance on 4 February, a month before repeating over 2650m here. Takes on a better bunch this time but clearly appreciates the Laval profile and must not be written off
  51. MEPHISTONS DIDJEAP – Gave a good account of himself on return to competition, coming 3rd in a Cordemais Class F 3 weeks ago. Is in superior company this time and even though reconfigured still looks an outsider
  52. MONEY DU CORTA – Delicate colt but has no shortage of ability. Is unraced since last November though and best to hold off
  53. MAESTRO BLANC – Ran 3rd under these conditions last September before going into his layoff. 3rd at Caen on comeback early this month and can again figure prominently
  54. MALICIEUX A JOJO – Has kicked the year off well and is plainly in good shape, but may just be taking on too much this time
  55. MY LOVE JULMA – Got straight down to business on comeback when securing a Class E over track and trip on 18 February. Eliminated next time but will bounce back if Anthony Barrier assures his initial strides
  56. MERITE – Showed promise last year, but at a lower level. Finished last but one on comeback here 2.5 weeks ago and, barefoot or not, will struggle to make his presence felt
  57. MAESTRO KADESH – Well-regarded element starting for the first time since September. Has form at a superior level and even if a little race-rusty can nevertheless play a small role
  58. MISTER MOUROTAIS – Serious type that has worked his way nicely through the ranks. Will have come on for recent return run and looks the one to beat this time
  59. MARBRE D’ERABLE – Complicated colt but has buckets of potential. Stylishly imposed over 2700m at Graignes a fortnight ago, won his only start at the venue, and on good behaviour will be competitive for the spoils
  60. MISTRAL DU PORET – Sent for a rest after opening his account at Cabourg in mid-December. Has nothing to offer on comeback and will have few friends in the markets
  61. MAGIC DE VAUVILLE – Still chasing that elusive first win but produced a fine run on re-entry at Nantes last month and, considering the engagement, should be taken seriously
  62. MADRAS – Not easy to handle but has nevertheless won 3 of the 5 races he has finished. Has no left-handed references but is competitively-shod for the first time and at just 180 Euros from elimination is easy to recommend for a first-5 cheque
Summary: A number of horses in the mix here but preference nonetheless goes to MISTER MOUROTAIS (10) who ran a fine 4th under these conditions earlier in the month, on his first start since last September. Eric Raffin will still be mindful of recent Laval winner MY LOVE JULMA (7) who was eliminated that day, and MARBRE D’ERABLE (11) who put 4 consecutive eliminations behind him to win a Graignes Class F mid-month. MAESTRO BLANC (5) has been superb since last May’s debut and his recent Caen re-entry performance augurs well for his prospects.

  63. L’ULTIME ESPOIR – Showed potential at 3 but has roundly failed to deliver on his promise and can be confidently ruled out
  64. LEO DES KECHES – Displayed significant potential last season, but also his temperament. Made short work of his re-entry race, however, and can bring the fight to LIKE THE WIND (4)
  65. L’AS TEJY – Unexceptional individual that has failed to make his mark for some time and is not about to upset the status quo
  66. LIKE THE WIND – Has enjoyed something of a renaissance since changing vocation. Comes here fresh, shod as he was in Paris, and with application can impose
  67. LUIGI KALOUMA – Has been enjoying a productive run of form this year, latterly 3rd to LEO DES KECHES (2) in a 2700m Machecoul Class F a fortnight ago, and while unlikely to spring any surprises can nevertheless trot his way into the money
  68. LAZIO – Gave a good account of himself on return to the discipline, coming close in a Class F over course and distance on 5 March. Should be fully fit by now and will be expected to contest the finish
  69. LOKO – Ran 4th behind LAZIO (6) in a Class F over track and trip on 5 March. Is unlikely to lose his maiden status but is an honest horse and can get in on the action
  70. L’ULTIME D’AXEL – Raced better in a Caen Class F mid-month than his 6th of 10 would suggest. Presents solid left-handed references and in this field looks thoroughly capable of challenging for a place on the podium
  71. LOLLIPOP CHANLECY – Nicely-engaged here but has done nothing noteworthy since returning from a lengthy layoff and can be passed over
Summary: Less capricious and considerably more effective since switching codes, LIKE THE WIND (4) missed out by little at Vincennes early last month, has been afforded ample time to get back to his best, and is in with a realistic chance of imposing this time. LEO DES KECHES (2) is never far from faulting but he flew up on his comeback at Machecoul 2 weeks ago and, if he stays trotting, will be no soft touch. Returning to the code paid dividends for LAZIO (6) who went close over track and trip earlier in the month, and he looks a marginally better choice than L’ULTIME D’AXEL (8) who always gives his best.
    SELECTIONS
    LIKE THE WIND (4) – LEO DES KECHES (2) – LAZIO (6) – L’ULTIME D’AXEL (8)
    C6 – PRIX DU LIONS CLUB LAVAL PREMIER – 2850m (a2m) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 21,000
  72. NINA MINIGNA – Has not been seen out since losing her action on debut at Le Mont-Saint-Michel last October, and even with Benjamin Rochard in the bike, is still not a priority
  73. NO NAME BLUE – Debuted modestly here on 5 March when 8th behind NEW ROGER (4) and can be dismissed
  74. NYAKA – Unexceptional filly starting for first time since early-January and, at this level, will have a mountain to climb
  75. NEW ROGER – Made up for debut elimination when runner-up in a Class F over course and distance early this month. Will have progressed for the race and the Franck Nivard-factor cannot be ignored
  76. NABAD DU ROCHER – Has placed in 2 of 5 starts to date, including over shorter here, however has not been seen out since November and best to wait
  77. NEW YORK CITY – Not the most reliable of horses but did give a fine account here earlier in the month and will be no easy touch if she stays in stride
  78. NANA DU LEVANT – No champion but has previously placed over shorter here, at a lower level. Is fresh for her return to competition, receives an Eric Raffin drive for the occasion, and cannot be discounted
  79. NALISMA – Started to show improvement before being put away for the winter, but will be race-rusty and is not a priority
  80. NOTUS VOLO – Debuted 3rd at Reims prior to coming 2nd in a Chartres Class F mid-month. Takes on some good horses here but is clearly a progressive colt and must be taken at face value. Place prospect
  81. NEMANIA – Qualified smartly last month and confirmed 2 weeks ago when comfortably winning a Class F at Meslay-du-Maine. Has a lot more to give and a repeat is well within her capability
  82. NYSKIO SPORT – Made short work of a Class F at Le Croisé-Laroche on debut late last month. In better company this time but has yet to show his full potential and has a decent chance of giving NEMANIA (10) a run for her money
  83. NASHVILLE BLUE – Imposed over shorter here last September but has done nothing of note since and others easier to back
  84. NICKY LARSON – Plainly benefitted from his winter break, imposing on comeback at Cherbourg , then running 3rd in a Cordemais Class E a month ago. Is not about to win this but is still good enough to pick up a cheque
Summary: Joint-fastest qualifier here, NEMANIA (10) got straight down to business on her debut at Meslay-du-Maine 2 weeks ago and, considering the turn of foot she displayed, will be well-backed to double up. NYSKIO SPORT (11) is the other fastest qualifier and he too lost his maiden status at the first time of asking. NOTUS VOLO (9) has placed twice within the space of a fortnight and, sporting 4 pads this time, is hard to ignore. NEW YORK CITY (6) was beaten only by a very good horse here recently before faulting at Caen, and Anthony Barrier will be minded to put things right.
    SELECTIONS
    NEMANIA (10) – NYSKIO SPORT (11) – NOTUS VOLO (9) – NEW YORK CITY (6)
    C7 – PRIX HANDICHEVAL MAYENNE – 2850m (a2m) – Class F – Mounted – EUR € 18,000
  85. MERVEILLE DES PRES – Switches discipline for first time after having shown no ability under harness, and can be confidently disregarded
  86. MADAME DES LOYAUX – Disappointing since debuting last April and even with pads fitted has no realistic chance
  87. MALICIEUSE D’EYMY – Very disappointing since returning to the track this year, and even with hind shoes off, looks to be out of her depth
  88. MILLONGA VRIE – Yet to wow the masses but has shown decent monte potential. Benjamin Rochard in the irons this time and has a reasonable chance of finishing in the money
  89. MAYA DE CAHOT – Has yet to demonstrate much aptitude for either code, but will be barefoot this time, with Anthony Barrier in the saddle. That said, she appears to be facing a very stiff test
  90. MAYA D’ECHAL – Ran 2nd, on ridden bow, to MERCENAIRE D’ECHAL (11) in a Machecoul Class G 2 weeks ago. Will have progressed for the race, and is competitively-shod, but looks more a first-5 chance this time
  91. MANON DU LEARD – Has not been seen since running 4th of 5 in a Nantes Class F on 16 January, and will generate little interest
  92. MINERVE DE VANDEL – Switches code for first time after 2 straight harness eliminations. Benefits from the services of a top jockey and, with application, is unlikely to disappoint
  93. MAECO DELADOU – Sprang something of a surprise when 2nd to MAKAO DAIRPET (12) in a 2700m Graignes Class F 2 weeks ago. Is barefoot this time though and will be one to watch
  94. MY LORD DE L’AUMOY – Opened his monte account at first time of asking. Ran 3rd at Cordemais after the spell and will be expected to deliver another top-flight performance
  95. MERCENAIRE D’ECHAL – Ran 2nd at Cherbourg before getting off the mark at Machecoul. Adrien Lamy aboard this time and can be forgiven for feeling bullish. Chance
  96. MAKAO DAIRPET – Lost his maiden status, by a wide margin, in a 2700m Graignes Class F on 15 March, and with form maintained can confirm
  97. MERARU QUANDO – Has shown significant potential but has yet been able to express it. Has not been seen out since December but will be barefoot for the first time and must not be underestimated
  98. MICKEY DE CRENNES – Ran 3rd under harness here early this month before failing to confirm at Graignes. Goes barefoot for monte debut and should not be written off
Summary: He may have taken time to come to hand but MAKAO DAIRPET (12) got off the mark in fine fashion mid-month and, with hind shoes off this time, looks thoroughly capable of repeating. He should still meet resistance from MERCENAIRE D’ECHAL (11) who is like a different horse this year, and MY LORD DE L’AUMOY (10) who has turned a corner since switching codes. MINERVE DE VANDEL (8) debuts in the discipline, sporting a fresh configuration, with Eric Raffin in the saddle, and will not be going down easily.

    MAKAO DAIRPET (12) – MERCENAIRE D’ECHAL (11) – MY LORD DE L’AUMOY (10) – MINERVE DE VANDEL (8)
    C8 – PRIX DU CLUB KIWANIS – 2850m (a2m) – Class G Amateur Drivers – Harness – EUR € 6,000
  99. JOUR DE BRUME – Modest sort making first appearance since November. Goes barefoot for Laval bow but will struggle to make his mark
  100. JOUR DE JUIN – Has won 3 of his last 6 amateur runs. Has no Laval references, and makes a long trip, but in current condition is easy to fancy for the win
  101. JUSTINE DU MESNIL – Continued her fine run of form when 3rd over course and distance 2.5 weeks ago. Starts on front line once more and can again finish close
  102. JAIN DE JANVILLE – Has yet to win in the amateur division but has been showing her form of late. Ran 4th to JUMP WITH ME (7) at Cherbourg earlier in the month, sports modified shoeing, and is unlikely to be sent out at 25-1 this time. First 5
  103. JIVASO EFBE – Surprise 3rd behind JUSTINE DU MESNIL (3) in an Argentan amateurs Class G late-January on just 2nd appearance at this level. Flopped in the pro ranks and is back in the category will a reasonable chance of getting a look in
  104. IDAHO D’ACADIE – Capricious individual that picked up at Meslay, when eliminated on re-entry, where he left off last September, and can be passed over
  105. JUMP WITH ME – Has been enjoying something of a renaissance since the turn of the year. Is due another win any day now and from the first row will have his chances
  106. JENNY DAIRPET – Seen at her best more often than not under the saddle. Is shod for return to competition and even though sporting shoes this time, still cannot be ruled out
  107. JOYCE MIKA – Unexceptional mare with a run under her belt following her lengthy layoff. Stays shod for the occasion and can be dismissed
  108. JONAS – Tricky element that showed little on return at Machecoul mid-month. Is not ideally-entered and can expect to have few friends
  109. IVOLI ZEUS – Unraced since finishing last but one in a Vire monte amateurs Class G last November and is not a concern
  110. JOYEUX DU VIVIEN – Fine servant making amateur bow on first start since mid-November. Consistently gives his best but is shod this time and best to wait
  111. JUST A WINNER – Is confirmed in the amateur division but has not been seen out since November and is not about to spice things up
  112. HAPUNA BEACH – Showed improvement when 3rd in a Maure-de-Bretagne claimer 2 weeks ago but under these conditions is unlikely to set off any fireworks
  113. INSTIGATEUR – Imposed at Amiens on comeback before running 4th at Mauquenchy. Should take well to the new profile and, considering the entry, will not be far off the mark
  114. HIVAROSA DU BOCAGE – Held her own on comeback to run 5th of 13 in a 2950m Toulouse amateurs Class G 8 days ago. Will have come on for the race and, given the entry, must be afforded respect
Summary: JOUR DE JUIN (2) has been enjoying a rich vein of form since just before Christmas and from the front row can make his Laval bow a victorious one. Leading the opposition, but 25m worse off, INSTIGATEUR (15) has a good turn of foot and is as versatile as you like. JUMP WITH ME (7) has turned a corner since starting to sport front pads and is nicely-in on the front row. JUSTINE DU MESNIL (3) has been knocking at the door since December and her recent run will stand her in good stead.
    SELECTIONS – JOUR DE JUIN (2) – INSTIGATEUR (15) – JUMP WITH ME (7) – JUSTINE DU MESNIL (3)
