C1 – PRIX DU PETIT COURS – 2200m (a1m1/2) – Class F Amateur Riders – Harness – EUR € 19,000
- L’ETINCELLE – Failed to confirm Blain-Bouvron-Le Gâvre run when eliminated at Rambouillet earlier in the month but races barefoot for the first time and cannot be discounted
- LIBERTE CERISE – Serious mare for the most part and is confirmed at the venue. Starts in front and will be reunited with Martin Samson who imposed with her on their sole association. Place prospect
- LEWISIA DE LATOM – Lightly-raced mare that showed early promise but has made no impact yet this term and even though reconfigured is unlikely to create an upset
- L’ETOILE D’ETE – Nicely-placed behind the car and currently in excellent shape. Is new to the venue but breaks from the 4 slot and is easy to like for the win
- LAURIANE DU RIED – Oddly out of sorts in last 2 starts but is a useful mare that has already come close twice this term. Benefits from a fine draw and Pierrot Beasse will be eager to take advantage of the opportunity
- LADY DU POMMEREUX – Has been a complete disappointment since placing at Vichy a year ago and will have nothing to offer
- LADY MAURE – Has done nothing but improve over recent weeks, latterly winning a Landivisiau Class F a week ago. Sports shoes this time however and best to hold off
- LILY PEEL – Returns to a hard surface, and sports a new configuration, after imposing on turf 2 weeks ago. Pleased on her only Caen start, enjoys an excellent entry, and merits considerable respect
- LUEUR DE PLAY – Unexceptional sort returning to Caen on a 4-timer of eliminations. Has shown little liking for the venue and can be ignored
- LOLITA DU RHIN – Kicked the season off well but below-par in last 2. Did win her sole Caen start though and even from the back row can get in on the action
- LYSSA DU SKY – Modest mare that has done nothing of note all season and can be confidently dismissed
- LIBELLULE – Still very competitive when eliminated on re-entry at Châtelaillon-La Rochelle 2 weeks ago. Is unbeaten in 2 clockwise starts and Rafel Roig-Balaguer will be keen to make it 3
- LITTLESNABE – Moderate type that has been showing his limits this year and can be passed over
- LYDDITE D’EMI – Appeared to have found something last autumn but has since come totally off the boil and has no realistic chance
- LANTANA DE HOUELLE – Has not raced since September 2024. Is first-time barefoot but is not about to set off any fireworks
Summary: Winner at Saint-Malo last month, L’ETOILE D’ETE (4) came close to repeating on turf a fortnight ago and, notably performant racing right-handed, she can win this if she takes to the Caen profile. LIBELLULE (12) put in quite the performance on her comeback even though eliminated; she has pulled a rough number but with application can contest the finish this time. LIBERTE CERISE (2) has been reconfigured for her return to a track she appreciates and from the front row will be expected to play an active part. It took 26 runs but LILY PEEL (8) finally got off the mark earlier in the month, on her first start since October, and will not be sent out at 16-1 this time.

C2 – PRIX DE CASTILLON – 2450m (a1m1/2) – Class E – Mounted – EUR € 21,000 - NEFTI DU VIVIER – Well-related sort making career debut with a leading rider in the saddle and can play a prominent role if she lives up to the hype
- NAOMI SNOB – Eliminated on debut under the saddle in early-April, then followed suit under harness earlier in the month, and can be passed over
- NEIGE D’EVER – Last but one on re-entry in a 2700m Graignes harness Class F 10 days ago, but others still easier to back
- NIGHT LILOMA – Disappointing in both codes last December and then put away for the winter. Has been afforded time to come into herself and with 4 pads fitted could well get a look in
- NO LIMIT ERCA – Disappointing on the whole in 5 harness starts to date and chances appear limited first time under the saddle
- NOUMEA JENILOU – Promising filly whose monte debut in Paris did not go as planned. Is clearly capable, should be more comfortable at Caen, and on good behaviour can get in on the action
- NAYAJACQ – Switches code for first time after having shown little aptitude for the harness discipline and can expect to have few, if any, friends
- NANOU DES LANDIERS – Takes to the monte code for first time following a brace of disappointing harness starts in recent weeks. Guillaume Martin stays faithful but still cannot be considered a priority
- NINA ROSE – Makes monte bow after losing her action here on 25 April. Has demonstrated considerable harness potential and if ability transitions, the race could yet be hers for the taking
- NIKITA DREAM – Returns to the monte discipline and racing shod after coming 2nd under harness in a Vire Class F 2 months ago. Ran 3rd at Cherbourg on sole start under the saddle and is not to be underestimated
- NATASHA DES BAUX – Finished just ahead of NOUMEA JENILOU (6) on monte debut at Vincennes late last month before running 2nd in a Le Mans Class E 8 days ago. Francois Lagadeuc back in the irons and must be taken very seriously
- NEUILLY DE PLAY – Makes just 2nd appearance in the discipline, having been eliminated here in March when clearly going well. Noe Perron aboard once more and and can play an important role if she keeps her action together this time
Summary: Winner on debut under harness at Saint-Malo in early-April, NINA ROSE (9) was less fortunate 3 weeks later when eliminated over course and distance. She switches code for the first time but is out of a monte-winning mare and can get straight down to business if Alexis Collette keeps her trotting. NEFTI DU VIVIER (1) takes her first competitive steps, with Paul Ploquin in the saddle, and must be respected. NEUILLY DE PLAY (12) gave a good account here on her own monte bow in late-March and, if applied this time, could pleasantly surprise. NOUMEA JENILOU (6) was not at her ease at Vincennes late last month but should find Caen more to her liking and it is not for nothing that Louis Baudron gives her another go.

C3 – PRIX DE CONTEVILLE – 2450m (a1m1/2) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 21,000 - NORMANDIE MADRIK – Starts for first time since being eliminated on debut at Laval last September. Sports 4 pads for re-entry but is still not a contender
- NOT ALLOWED – Lost her action early under these conditions late last month after having given a good account on debut at Cherbourg. Is plainly in shape though and will not be far off the mark if she stays in stride
- NAZCA – Dominated a Class F at Le Touquet on debut in late-April. Takes on a better bunch here but will have progressed for the run and looks principal threat to NEW GRASS (7)
- NOVENA D’OURVILLE – Complicated filly that lost her action at Enghien in late-April after having opened her account at Argentan a month earlier. On good behaviour though is unlikely to return home empty-handed
- NAVAJA DE CORDAY – Runner-up in 2 before being trounced in an Enghien Class D on 27 April. Takes on a less-exalted lot here but others still preferred
- NEWJOY REVERIE – Takes a notable hike in category after coming 2nd in a Gournay-en-Bray Class G on 1 May and is unlikely to make her presence felt
- NEW GRASS – Unopposed winner of a 2100m Feurs Class F on 20 April, first time out. Will have come on for the race and should again be well-backed to win this
- NALA – Got the year off to a victorious start but form has done nothing but regress since and can expect to have few friends
- NATIVE DE PLAY – Kicked the year off nicely but has failed to make the grade in last 3. Front pads fitted but still not a concern
- NINON DREAM – Finished flattering 4th on sole start at the venue but has not been seen out since November and is going to need the race
- NINA DAIDOU – Smartly lost her maiden tag at Gournay-en-Bray 2 weeks back. Has never failed to deliver going clockwise and looks particularly competitive once more
- NUIT DE MAI – Reassuring 2nd in a Fougeres Class G 8 days ago. In better company this time but can still play a minor role
- NOSTALGIQUE JAYF – Ran 2nd over course and distance in March before confirming in an Argentan Class F the following month. May not get off the mark this time either but still has the wherewithal to make first 5
Summary: Out of the Gr.1-winning Green Grass, NEW GRASS (7) made short work of her recent Feurs debut; she will have improved for the run and, sporting hind pads for the first time, looks eminently capable of doubling up. David Thomain will nevertheless be mindful of NAZCA (3) who was similarly authoritative on her own career bow 3 weeks ago, and NINA DAIDOU (11) who opened her account at Gournay-en-Bray a fortnight ago. Quickly eliminated here after having impressed first time out, NOT ALLOWED (2) should figure prominently if Julien Dubois keeps her trotting.

C4 – PRIX DE COMBRAY – 2450m (a1m1/2) – Class E – Mounted – EUR € 24,000 - MISS SPEED – Steps marginally up in category after coming 3rd in a Class E under these conditions 2 weeks ago. Returns to the venue at what should be peak fitness and it will not be long before she gets her nose back in front
- LATINA DE TILOU – Unremarkable 5th of 8 finishers in a Class E over track and trip 3 weeks ago and quite simply has too much to do
- MAMBO BLANC – Quality element returning to racing clockwise after running 7th behind MONTGENEVE (11) in a 2700m Vincennes Class D 2.5 weeks ago. Will be shod this time but goes well right-handed and will be ridden by Alexis Collette
- MADE IN LOVE PASS – Encouraging 4th behind MOLLY WHITE (6) in a Class E over course and distance a fortnight back. Less competitively-shod this time and can be ruled out
- LATINO BOY – Has not been at his sharpest this term even though having shown improvement at Tours, and is unlikely to generate much interest
- MOLLY WHITE – Pleasantly surprising 2nd in a Class E over course and distance early this month, finishing just ahead of MISS SPEED (1). Returns to the venue with morale restored but others still easier to back
- L’AVIS DU CHAILLOU – Complicated trotter that has made no impact for 15 months and is not about to change his ways
- MAXOU DIGEO – Ran 6th, a place behind MONTGENEVE (11), in a 2700m Vincennes Class D 2.5 weeks ago. Presents decent clockwise references but has more to find this time
- MONSTER SPEED – Eliminated when competitive in a Vincennes Class D 2.5 weeks ago when barefoot for the first time. Leading jockey in the irons on this occasion and will be competitive at the business end of the race
- MISTER DU BAS BOSQ – Handy sort reverting to a previous formula for return to racing right-handed after 2 straight eliminations in Paris. Is unbeaten in 2 Caen starts and while not a priority, will have his supporters
- MONTGENEVE – Seldom disappoints in the ridden code, most recently 5th in a competitive Vincennes Class D 2.5 weeks ago. Is unlikely to impose but can nevertheless pick up some prizemoney
- LUARIA – Made a fine comeback in a Graignes harness Class F 10 days ago. Has won 2 of her last 3 monte starts and, if applied, can pleasantly surprise
- MELODY KADESH – Showed moderate improvement at Cordemais last month on just 2nd start back, but still appears to be out of her depth
- MAMMA MIA DE LOU – Eliminated as often as not but has won 2 of last 4 starts, most recently a Vincennes Class D, with authority, on 30 April. Takes on the boys this time but will still be expected to give MONSTER SPEED (9) a run for his money
- LAZIO – Serious type with a fine monte record. Is shod to preference for return to the code, enjoys a terrific entry, and must be respected
Summary: MONSTER SPEED (9) could well have won at Vincennes late last month had he kept his action together. On the winning horse that day, Alexandre Abrivard will be in the saddle on this occasion and will be confident of setting the record straight. Facile winner at the same venue 2 days later, on her first ridden start for 11 months, MAMMA MIA DE LOU (14) still has to prove herself right-handed but has been re-shod and in current condition is hard to ignore. MISS SPEED (1) acquits herself well for the most part, has taken nicely to these conditions, and is unlikely to disappoint. LUARIA (12) is not the easiest of horses to use but she will be barefoot as she was when successful at Cabourg last December and looks competitively well in.

C5 – PRIX DE CRETTEVILLE – 2450m (a1m1/2) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 21,000 - MILADY DE LANDEMER – Modest filly that has yet to show any particular aptitude for the game and is not about to start on first appearance since October
- MIESQUE DANICA – Put away after winning 2 on the trot last summer. Will have progressed for recent return run at La Capelle earlier in the month and is not incapable of making first 5 once more
- MOSTRA DU TRIO – Ran 3rd on turf on re-entry before imposing at Fougeres earlier in the month, also on turf. Did win her only start over course and distance however and even though in a superior category here, still looks a leading player
- MISS D’HERMES – Showed early promise but has yet to get into her stride this year and even with shoes off is unlikely to spice things up
- MAUNY DE PLAY – Showed promise last season but has looked ordinary this year and after 2.5 months off is unlikely to influence the outcome
- MANON PIERJI – Produced a fine effort on re-entry at Reims mid-April, coming 3rd in a 2500m Class F. Is pitted against better on this occasion but will be barefoot for the first time and cannot be ruled out
- MYA D’OLIVERIE – Reliability not her strong suit but has won 3 of the 4 races she has finished, latterly a Cholet Class F 2 weeks ago. Is unlikely to repeat but has been reconfigured and should put in a competitive performance
- MAMAMIA DES ARRIS – Produced a pair of good left-handed performances before being trounced by MI CASA (10) here 3 weeks ago and is not about to trouble the judge
- MUSIC DE BERTRANGE – Eliminated as often as not but was exceptional at Graignes 10 days ago on her first start with Yoann Lebourgeois who, unsurprisingly, stays faithful. Claim
- MI CASA – Imposed at Amiens, first time barefoot, before coming 2nd in a Class E over 2200m here 3 weeks ago, and will not be available at 44-1 this time
- MADISON DES BAUX – Runner-up in both starts so far this term, most recently on turf at Durtal. Has taken well to racing clockwise and Guillaume Martin will endeavour to finish one place better
- MA BRISE TIME – Consistently gives everything she has, most recently close 2nd in a Chartres Class F early last month. Has been re-shod for the occasion and with David Thomain reining is unlikely to be far off the mark
Summary: A tough nut to crack when applied, MUSIC DE BERTRANGE (9) stormed up at Graignes recently and can repeat if Yoann Lebourgeois manages to keep her mind on the task at hand. It’s unlikely to be all plain sailing though given how well MOSTRA DU TRIO (3) has comported herself to date. MI CASA (10) has taken her game to a new level since beginning to race barefoot and her recent Caen performance bodes well for her chances. Wonderfully-entered here, MADISON DES BAUX (11) has been knocking at the door since returning to competition and can again figure prominently.

C6 – PRIX DE GENNEVILLE – 2450m (a1m1/2) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 21,000 - MY NAME IS FLASH – Gave a fine account on re-entry when successful in a Cholet Class F early this month. Is the least wealthy horse here but by no means the least talented. Claim
- MY MILLION ATOUT – Never far from losing his action but is not devoid of talent and can get a look in if he deigns to keep trotting
- MALAKY FAFA – Has found his way again after having had front shoes removed, most recently close 2nd in a Class F at La Capelle a fortnight ago. Is not far off securing a 2nd win of 2026 and can bring the fight to MY NAME IS FLASH (1)
- MAESTRO VET – Placed on comeback at Lisieux before coming 7th after faulting at Cholet late last month. Will be barefoot for Caen bow and has a reasonable chance of picking up a thin slice of the pie
- MEILLEUR KURYS – Tricky element that lost his action in a Graignes Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Is clearly useful when focused but has limited prospects here
- MIGUEL DE LOU – Returns to racing right-handed after prepping at Laval 2.5 weeks ago. Gets to race barefoot this time and must be taken seriously
- MUST PLEIN CHENE – Ran 5th here in March before being eliminated last month and is patently out of his league
- MYSTIC D’AVE – Unremarkable trotter that has previously placed here but has nothing to contribute this time around
- MAJOR AR CARAC – Already a winner this year, and latterly 4th in a Cholet Class F on 27 April. Goes barefoot again, with David Thomain reining, and is unlikely to let the side down
- MAXIMUS VILLAM – Ran 3rd at Reims on comeback in April but failed to confirm when modest 5th in a Gournay-en-Bray Class F a fortnight ago, and with pads fitted can be given a pass
- MIKONOS DE MAHEY – Serious sort that can be excused recent sanction. Is clearly in excellent shape and Paul Ploquin may be just the driver to set things straight
- MANGO KALOUMA – Failed to live up to expectations in a 2200m Class E here 3 weeks ago. Is significantly better than that though, will be first-time barefoot, with Alexandre Abrivard reining, and considering the entry must be considered a player
- MAGIC DE TILLARD – Gave a good account on 2nd start back when 4th in a Graignes Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Benefits from a good entry, presents decent clockwise references, but others still easier to back
Summary: Twice solid under these conditions last season, and recent winner on comeback, MY NAME IS FLASH (1) will be configured as he was that day and, reunited with Yoann Lebourgeois, can expect the lion’s share of support. MALAKY FAFA (3) has turned a corner since starting to race competitively-shod and makes his Caen bow with a good hand to play. First-time barefoot after a much-needed freshener late last month, MIGUEL DE LOU (6) has excelled racing right-handed and his potential should not be downplayed. MIKONOS DE MAHEY (11) should not be too hastily-condemned for faulting at Fougeres earlier in the month and with Paul Ploquin reining can be backed with confidence.

C7 – PRIX DE CABOURG – 2200m (a1m1/2) – Class F – Harness – EUR € 21,000 - LYNX DU RIB – Serious sort when he keeps his mind on the game. Showed his form at Argentan only to be eliminated but the change of scenery may be just what the doctor ordered. Place chance
- LISSANDRO D’ARC – Oddly one-paced 7th of 9 in a 2875m Meslay-du-Maine Class E early this month. Has otherwise been in good shape this term and from the 2 slot should be able to make his presence felt
- LUTIN DE LA BASLE – Encouraging 2nd at Lisieux in April prior to being eliminated in a Fougeres Class F 8 days ago. Always gives his best but is not about to shake things up
- LASCAUX DU PERCHE – Has produced some decent efforts this term but lacklustre in last 2. Is well-positioned in front but still has too much to find
- LEADER BLACK – No champion but always gives his best, most recently 5th in a Graignes Class F 2.5 weeks ago, but has his work cut out for him this time
- LIBERAL BABY – Returns to racing barefoot following a pair of conditioners. Seldom disappoints when focused, is proven here, and from the front row can give this a good go
- LET’S GO VAL – Never easy to gauge but is confirmed at this level. Sports modified shoeing, tends to go well for David Thomain, and starting in front will do his prospects no disservice. First 5
- LORIQUET – Enjoyed a productive autumn before being put away for the winter. Has failed to make any impact since returning to competition however, and must get his house in order
- LOUP D’ARDENNES – Kicked the year off nicely but eliminated in last 2. Sports modified shoeing in a bid to stop the rot, has already won under these conditions, but the draw will not help matters
- LUCKY PURPLE – Modest element that was eliminated at Argentan last Monday when sent out at 175-1 and is unlikely to spring any surprises
- LEADER TURGOT – Goes barefoot after being quickly eliminated on Graignes re-entry on 12 April. Is plainly in race-mode and can figure prominently if he keeps trotting and defies the draw
- LE CLASSIC – Put in quite the performance at Mauquenchy before suffering 2 straight sanctions. Is clearly up to the challenge of a race like this and, with application, can wrap it up
- LOUDEAC – Unexceptional trotter with a pair of runs under his belt since returning from his layoff and already looks to be out of his depth
- LE BIG JANJAN – Seldom far off the mark when he can keep his action together. Won his only start over 2200m here and, poorly-drawn or not, still looks a serious proposition
Summary: LE CLASSIC (12) may not be easy to handle but he is better than most here; he has not pulled the best of numbers but can get off the mark for 2026 if Hugues Monthule keeps him focused. He will still want to be keeping a keen eye on the unfavourably-drawn, but in-form and barefoot, LE BIG JANJAN (14) who presents very good Caen credentials, and fellow back-row starter LEADER TURGOT (11) who is barefoot for his first objective of the year. LYNX DU RIB (1) got the year off to a good start before twice faulting recently, but he boasts fine right-handed references and will be no pushover if focused.

C8 – PRIX DE RIVA BELLA – 2450m (a1m1/2) – Class F – Mounted – EUR € 27,000 - HARIBO DU SURF – Modest individual that has made no impact since summer 2024 and after 6 months off will have nothing to bring to the party
- KORINTO BELLO – Quality individual that imposed at Angers, on first start since the spell, before being conditioned here earlier in the month. Is clearly in competition-mode this time and is reunited with Alexandre Abrivard who imposed on sole association with him
- KOBALT DU VALLON – Not the most reliable of horses but has decent monte references. Has never failed to deliver under the saddle here and will be barefoot for first start of the year. One to watch
- KING OF JIEL – Given a pair of harness fresheners after a lengthy stint on the sidelines. Is shod as he was when imposing at Laval in April 2025, his last start in the code, and must be afforded respect
- KOMEDIE SOMOLLI – Serious mare that made up for Vincennes elimination when 2nd in a Laval Class C on 23 April. Is not as competitively-shod this time but still represents a decent first-5 chance
- KABALA QUICK – Won last 3, 2 of them over course and distance. Steps marginally up in category but still has a realistic chance of securing the 4-timer
- KANSAS DU HOCTI – Won his first of the year at Cholet on 6 April then followed up in mid-April with victory at Cordemais. Was being conditioned at Meslay-du-Maine and will be barefoot as he vies to complete the ridden hat-trick
- KELVALSE CASTELETS – Has 3 runs under her belt after a lengthy layoff. Is not the biggest fan of racing right-handed and is not an obvious choice
- IBIZA DE CONNEE – Returns to her code of choice after a harness freshener over 2200m here last Saturday. Goes barefoot this time but others still preferred
- GERONIMO STARDUST – Ran good 3rd under these very conditions in early-March but has twice failed to confirm and can be passed over
- KADO SHINING – Reliability not his string suit, and has not raced since early-February, but has references at a superior level and will not be far off the mark if Paul Ploquin keeps him trotting
Summary: Winner or runner-up in 5 of the 6 monte races he has finished, KORINTO BELLO (2) excels at Caen when barefoot and may just have the edge over KABALA QUICK (6) who completed her hat-trick when dominating a Class F under these conditions earlier in the month. KANSAS DU HOCTI (7) won 2 in a row before being prepared under harness at Meslay-du-Maine recently, has a particular liking for 2450m here, and with shoes off will be no soft touch. Considerably better than latest figures would imply, KADO SHINING (11) has won 1 of the 2 right-handed monte races he has run and, if sufficiently-fit, can figure prominently.

- FLOWER CELEBRATION – Solid run in 3rd spot over 1200m at Durtal in a maiden on the 22nd of March 2026. Has a money chance in this contest
Summary: QAMRAN (1) has produced three useful runs to date and looks poised to strike for that maiden win. Christian Demuro sticks with the ride and he sets a clear standard on his performances to date. PHILLY BASSETT (5) wasn’t disgraced in her first outing for this year and she can improve quite a bit with that run under the belt. She’ll be fitter and will give a good account of herself. DACHKOVA (8) ran with plenty of promise on debut and would have tightened up quite a bit so is likely to have more to come here. FLOWER CELEBRATION (11) showed up positively last time out and should be in with claims again.

- AMELIORE – Poor run in 13th over 2200m at Fontainebleau in a maiden on the 28th of February 2026. Will battle to feature here
- BRIDGE OF TEARS – Weak finish in 8th over 2400m at Saint-Cloud in a maiden on the 24th of April 2026. Will struggle to land a blow
- ARDAGAN – Dam was a six time winner from 2000m – 3200m which included a Listed win in Germany. Trip will suit and one to keep safe
- STORY WAY – Dam won once over 2200m and this filly could be one to monitor on debut. The trip could be up her alley and she can feature
Summary: SILENT WARNING (4) ran with a lot of encouragement on debut and is sure to have come on plenty with that outing under his belt. He steps up significantly in trip and on pedigree, it is a slight concern but he runs as if the trip will suit ideally. CUELLAR (3) showed very good improvement last time out and if confirming that here then he will be a major contender for top honors. CLOTH OF GOLD (2) produced a far better finish two starts back and if in the same heart then she will be involved in the shake up. Summary: HAMAVI (8) was a fluent winner when dropped in trip last time out and has competed at a stronger level than this. He goes this distance for the first time but will likely be up to the task at hand. EPHESUS (2) has pleasing form to his name over this trip and will be staying on strongly at the finish. - LADY TEDSMORE – Finished last of sixteen over 1400m at Parislongchamp in a Listed event on the 23rd of April 2026. Will battle to feature here
Summary: TORNADO ALLEY (4) has come well this year with two wins under his belt already and he seems on the upward trajectory. He sets the standard and is the one to beat. MISTER CHARMES (3) dug down deep to land the spoils last time out and seems like the type who is only going to benefit from racing experience. He will be involved at the finish. FORTUNA DIAMOND (8) got the job done on debut and should have come on plenty with that win under the belt and she should make a bold bid.
