R1 VINCENNES [L-H]
C1 – PRIX TOLOSA – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 59,000
- JUST D’ERONVILLE – Honest sort facing first target of the new year. Is confirmed at the venue and from the front row can give this a good go
- JAZZ DE PADD – Quality trotter that has hardly put a foot wrong this season. Has solid form under these conditions and from the 2 slot is easy to fancy for the win
- JOY JENILOU – Useful in both codes and was not disgraced under these conditions in April. Is not about to take Vincennes by storm but is still a decent first-5 chance
- HENZO DE CARSI – Placed twice, including over course and distance, earlier in the year. Eliminated in last 2 but returns to racing left-handed and from the 4 slot must be respected
- IMAGE D’ATALANTE – Not the worst horse here but failed to impress at Laval 3 weeks ago and others easier to back
- IRMYLA DE SOMMAIRE – Imposed at Toulouse earlier in the year but has been a write-off since and can be ignored
- JUST DU CHATELET – Wonderfully consistent type that excels with Damien Bonne. Appreciates the venue, is plainly at the top of his game, and looks dangerous. Chance
- GAMIN DU GAULTIER – Has previously placed under these conditions but recent form does little to inspire confidence
- IRRESISTIBLE PAJ – Has yet to get his nose in front his year but has been pleasing lately. Takes on a better bunch here however and the draw does not help matters
- IMAGE CHARENTAISE – Moderate mare that has done little of note for some time and is unlikely to garner much support
- JOYCE DES GRANGES – Gave a fine account at Le Croise-Laroche early this month when securing a Class E. Is a model of consistency and while not a contender should nevertheless pick up a cheque
- JOVIAL HAUFOR – Damien Bonne has opted for another but nevertheless presents fine references with David Thomain. Is plainly in good shape and even from the back line looks a player
Summary: An excellent campaigner with three wins to his name already this season, JAZZ DE PADD (2) imposed under these very conditions in February and with Matthieu Abrivard back in the bike should logically take all the beating. He will still be keeping an eye on JUST DU CHATELET (7) who authoritatively secured his first objective of the year, and JOVIAL HAUFOR (12) who won for David Thomain in January. JUST D’ERONVILLE (1) will be competitively-shod following a pair of return runs and has been entrusted to Francois Lagadeuc for the first time.

C2 – PRIX PERSEUS – 2850m (a2m) – Class A – Mounted – EUR € 90,000 - KAYA DREAM – Gave a reassuringly good account when 5th to JACARANDA (3) in Gr.3 Prix Roger Ledoyen over track and trip on 2 May. Comes here fresh and, already 3 times a Gr.2 winner, must be considered a player
- JUPITER DE PLAY – Not the most reliable of horses but has form over the distance. Has not been seen out since January though and may just be race-rusty
- JACARANDA – Has won 9 of the 11 starts under Benjamin Rochard. Imposed on re-entry over course and distance early last month and a repeat is not out of the question
- HARRY CARISAIE – Won over course and distance in early-2025 but returns to the code in unexceptional condition and others easier to back
- HANNAH – Ran 2nd in a Lisieux Class E on 17 May before repeating in a Solvalla Gr.2 a fortnight later. Takes on a considerably better lot here but Alexandre Abrivard has stayed faithful and warrants respect
- INDIGO DU PORET – Has won 3 of the 4 races he has run this year, including over 2850m of the main track. Hails from a yard firing on all cylinders and has every chance of imposing
- HOMER DE FROMENTEL – Previously a good sort but lost his way last season. Is unraced since August and will have nothing to contribute
- INSHORE – Has done nothing of note in either code for some time and is not about to shake things up
- HEURISTIQUE – Generous mare making first start for almost 2 months. Has a particular liking for these conditions and enjoys a decent chance of finishing in the money
- JAZZ IN MONTREUX – Returns to code of preference after prepping under harness at Laval early this month. Has never disappointed under these conditions and is not about to start now
Summary: Some serious horses here, with a number in the running, but marginal preference nevertheless goes to the excellent INDIGO DU PORET (6) who has won 3 of his last 4 starts. Barefoot following a much-needed freshener, JAZZ IN MONTREUX (10) ran 3rd in the Gr.3 Prix Jacques Andrieu last time under these conditions and can make a big splash if fully-fit, as can the exceptional JACARANDA (3) who stayed on nicely to secure the Gr.3 Prix Roger Ledoyen here early last month. Fifth that day, KAYA DREAM (1) will be no soft touch if Damien Bonne manages to keep her trotting.

C3 – PRIX LIGURIA – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 46,000 - LED ZEP VET – Got back in the winners’ circle at Le Croise-Laroche on 20 May but lost his action at Laval 2 weeks later, and would be preferred barefoot
- LIONEL MEARAS – Quality Swedish import that would have made the frame here in early-April had he not suffered interference. Has placed in 2 of 4 here and, with application, can go far
- LAIKA DES MARES – No slouch on a good day but has not been particularly performant lately and will have few friends
- LEKEVIN DESBOIS – Earned his return to Vincennes after securing a Marseille-Borely Class D in early-May. Is well-placed behind the car and although unlikely to repeat, should nevertheless hold his own
- LEADERBOARD – Steps up in category after making short work of a Class E over course and distance, on his first appearance since last December, and looks thoroughly capable of confirming
- FREISA ROC – Surprised somewhat when victorious in a Class E over track and trip on 13 May. Matthieu Abrivard reining this time and must not be underestimated
- FLAMENCO FER – Put in quite the performance to run 3rd in a 2700m Class D on re-entry here on 6 May, a first start for new handler. Will not be available at 80-1 this time, but is unlikely to be as competitive either
- LOVE BITES – Talented nordic mare but has so far failed to make any impact here and must first re-establish her credentials
- LOUIS QUATORZE – In the frame in 3 of last 4, most recently 3rd in an Enghien Class D 3 weeks ago, although a repeat is highly unlikely
- FRENCHCONNECTION – Delicate but capable element that won here earlier in the year. Has been out of sorts since though and others easier to support
- LOVER SIXTY ONE – Put a host of poor performances behind him to come 3rd in a Meslay-du-Maine Class E a fortnight back. Has made no mark at the venue since January 2024 though and can be passed over
- SECRET OF LAW – Complicated trotter but has bags of ability, and would have made the frame last time here had he stayed trotting. Is not ideally-drawn, but comes here rested, and on good behaviour can make amends
- LOST DES COUPERIES – Useful on a good day and has nothing to prove under these conditions, but has not been seen out since December and is unlikely to spring any surprises
- LISBETH DRY – Reassuring 3rd to FREISA ROC (6) in a Class E under these conditions a month back. Has pulled a rough number but her condition is not in question and she must be taken seriously
- DUKE OF NEW YORK – Serious sort that came 3rd, a place behind SECRET OF LAW (12), in a Class D over track and trip 3 weeks ago. On back row once more, but with Eric Raffin reining will be afforded every chance
Summary: Swedish-trained LEADERBOARD (5) was most impressive on his Vincennes debut in mid-May and from the 5 slot can make this his own. SECRET OF LAW (12) came 5th that day before just missing out a week later, and can again figure prominently, but may first have to defer to the better-positioned LIONEL MEARAS (2) who was most unlucky here last time out. DUKE OF NEW YORK (15) has not put a foot out of line this year and can again contest a place on the podium.

C4 – PRIX EUDORA – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class C – Harness – EUR € 68,000 - SCHAMPUS – Has placed just once in 3 here, and is arguably better over shorter, but his recent performance bodes well for his prospects
- GOLD D’ECROVILLE – Ran 2nd over course and distances earlier in the year but has been out of sorts since and will first need to get his house in order
- COOL KRONOS – Tough element making first start since March and with shoes fitted will have nothing to offer
- JOLIE STAR – Was unable to make it 4 in a row when eliminated in a Laval GNT Gr.3 early this month. Is already a Gr.3 winner this season and, if applied, should be able to wrap this up
- GILBERTO – Useful trotter whose recent result should not be taken at face value. Is clearly in excellent shape but in this company will have too much to do
- IMPERIAL DURABUTIN – Returns to the capital after some convincing runs in the south of the country. Has raced and placed under these conditions and merits respect
- HISTOIRE PHILS – Never easy to handle but has ample ability. This season’s form though does nothing to inspire confidence
- JUST A MIDI – Has not been as sharp this term as he was last summer. Has been entrusted to Eric Raffin for the first time and will be worth monitoring
- IGUANE DE CAPONET – Serious trotter making first appearance since last November. Has a proven record under these conditions and can figure prominently
- COCCO BFC – Fine Italian campaigner with decent Vincennes references. Is plainly close to his race but looks more a minor place prospects this time around
- HELLO PANAME – Capable individual but has not produced the goods at Vincennes since 2023 and is quite plainly out of his depth
- JAPPELOUP TURGOT – Failed to confirm Beaumont success when unplaced in a tough Class B at Enghien 3 weeks ago, but comes here fresh and, considering his Vincennes cv, can make first 5
- JASON GINYU – Very hard to fault under these conditions. Has not got his nose in front for some time but is well-entered here and looks principal threat to JOLIE STAR (4)
- GUERRIER CASTELETS – Gave an encouraging account in Lyon 3 weeks ago but failed to repeat in Toulouse a fortnight later, and is unlikely to create an upset
- HOLD UP DU DIGEON – Unexceptional type that has placed just once in 6 starts this season and even though barefoot is unlikely to spice things up
- HELIOS SI – Sprang a 22-1 surprise when 2nd in a Lyon-Parilly Class C 3 weeks ago, however a repeat seems most improbable
Summary: Winner of 3 on the trot before losing her action in a GNT Gr.3, JOLIE STAR (4) faces a less-exalted bunch this time and with more luck in running, should set the record straight. JASON GINYU (13) has a race under his belt since the break and under these conditions will be no easy touch. Shod to preference for his first start since November, IGUANE DE CAPONET (9) will be reined by his handler for the occasion but still represents a decent place chance. SCHAMPUS (1) returns to France after running 4th in a Danish Gr.1 and, barefoot this time, should not be underestimated. JAPPELOUP TURGOT (12) has not delivered at Vincennes for some time but takes a dip in category and in present condition is hard to ignore.

C5 – PRIX BILLETS DISCOUNT (PRIX LOMIA) – 2850m (a2m) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 41,000 - L’ETONNANT TONIC – Complicated sort that ran 2nd in a Class E at Les Sables-d’Olonne 10 days ago but at this level will struggle to repeat
- LOIR ET CHER – Unexceptional trotter that will need to show marked improvement on recent Mons performance if he wants to make any impact
- LILOU TREMBLADAISE – Has imposed just the once in 19 starts. Is arguably better under the saddle though and can be passed over
- LOVE DE CERIZE – Has turned a corner over recent months, latterly dominating a Durtal Class F late last month. Has no Vincennes references but in current condition is very easy to like. Chance
- LOYALTY – Imposed at La Roche-sur-Yon on 10 May but was unable to confirm when 6th at Granville. Sports a new configuration though and looks more competitive this time
- LOUVIERS – Hardy element that imposed at Elbeuf prior to faulting on turf a fortnight later. Tends to go well for Alexandre Abrivard and, although not a priority, will have his supporters
- LEADER BOURBON – Back on a hard surface after winning a Thouars Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Comes to the capital with morale on a high, has no penalty to contend with this time, and can double up
- LOVI CADENCE – Heavily-campaigned trotter that has yet to get off the mark and is not about to change his ways
- LUDO PAROYO – Gave a fine account on return from a spell when 2nd in a Class E at Meslay-du-Maine a fortnight back, at 78-1, however a repeat seems improbable
- LAROUS – Blows hot and cold but has been showing his form since returning from his break. Has demonstrated decent aptitude for the main track but is unlikely to shake things up
- LEADER ATOUT – Eliminated in last 2 but tends to go well for Benjamin Rochard. Encouraged in last 2 here and can pick up another first-5 payout
- LOUSTIC DE DALINE – Made up for Pontchateau elimination when victorious in a Rambouillet Class F in mid-May. Has never let the side down when barefoot and is not about to start now
- LUCIUS DE PUCH – Reassuring 2nd in an Amiens Class E on 16 May, but is in better company for Vincennes bow and chances appear limited
- LADY DAIRPET – Made it 3 in a row when securing a Mauquenchy Class E on re-entry last week. Is unbeaten with Yoann Lebourgeois this year and he will be determined to keep that fact relevant
Summary: LEADER BOURBON (7) took little time getting back in the winners’ circle after his winter break, comfortably imposing at Thouars. He is new to Vincennes but will be reunited with Eric Raffin and may just have the edge over LOVE DE CERIZE (4) who has been on cracking form lately. Seldom disappointing when focused, LOUSTIC DE DALINE (12) showed her form on the Rambouillet turf last time out and Mathieu Mottier will be back in the bike. Sent for a spell after winning 2 on the trot, LADY DAIRPET (14) made short work of her comeback run and must be considered a priority.

C6 – PRIX HYGICA – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 40,000 - MAVERICK ELLIS – Fine servant but can prove a handful. Was eliminated on comeback, is new to Vincennes, and others preferred
- MARCHAND DE REVE – Has talent but is never far from faulting and returns to the capital after 4 straight sanctions. Disregard
- MISTER CHARM – Has turned a corner since being reconfigured. Has solid form with his driver and looks eminently capable of making the frame once more
- MINUS DE CHENU – In the frame in 2 of last 3, latterly a place behind MIGHTY DREAM (7) over 2175m here 2 weeks ago, however a repeat seems unlikely
- MOWGLY FRECA – Has ability but has looked rather ordinary this season. Will be reunited with Mathieu Mottier and, with application, is unlikely to return home empty-handed
- MISTER D’ECROVILLE – Placed twice here before coming 5th in a 2100m Class D here a month back but with different tactics can bring the fight to MONTANA KALOUMA (8)
- MIGHTY DREAM – Has been enjoying a rich vein of form this term, latterly 2nd in a 2175m Class D late last month. Produced fastest time that day and in similar shape will be no soft touch
- MONTANA KALOUMA – Winner of 4 of the 6 races he has run. Is still a bit green but is a bright future prospect and can wrap this up if Theo Duvaldestin keeps him focused
- MALMO DE PUCH – Has yet to open his Vincennes account but has never disappointed here. Has just the one race under his belt but can play a role if Adrien Guarato keeps him trotting
Summary: Winner of 2 straight earlier in the spring, MONTANA KALOUMA (8) was eliminated here next time but is head-and-shoulders better than the opposition and, with application, will have this in the bag. Leading the opposition, MISTER D’ECROVILLE (6) has been knocking at the door and will appreciate returning to 2700m. MIGHTY DREAM (7) has made the frame in 4 of his 5 runs this term and on good behaviour can contest the finish. MISTER CHARM (3) has found a new lease on life and Eric Raffin can be confident of another big performance.

C7 – PRIX DIDO – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 40,000 - MISS DE LA FERME – Has started to come good again following a tough start to the season, however a repeat of her latest performance seems unlikely
- MAITIKA DE PEBRISY – Has taken her game to a new level since beginning to race barefoot. Made it 2 in a row when securing a 2100m Class E here 2.5 weeks ago, will have no difficulty with the distance and is unlikely to disappoint
- MOONSTAR JYL – Won twice over track and trip before being eliminated in next 2. Eric Raffin has opted for another and best to keep one’s powder dry
- MY FAIR LADY – Useful in both codes but out of the picture in last 2. Is barefoot this time but others still preferred
- MANOU DU CHENE – 2nd in a claimer over the inner course here a month back but is clearly out of her depth
- MILADY MADRIK – Serious filly in the claiming category. Sports 4 pads for the first time and is not about to upset the apple-cart
- MI FA SOL – Runner-up in 2, most recently 2nd in a 2175m Class D here 10 days ago. In better company this time but is still worth retaining
- MILANTERA – Goes barefoot for the first time under harness after having reassured in the other code here a month back. Is not a priority but is worth keeping an eye on all the same
- MAURICETTE BLUE – Useful on a good day but disappointing in last 2 harness starts and in this category will struggle to make her presence felt
- MORNING PRAYER – Very unlucky to finish 7th in a Class C over course and distance in mid-May. Is clearly a filly with a future and will be no soft touch if kept out of harm’s way
- MALICIA BELLA – Progressive filly with an unblemished record. Is new to the venue, has already won twice racing left-handed, and is in with a realistic shout of making her Vincennes bow a winning one
- MENTHE FRAICHE – Always gives what she can but form is headed in the wrong direction and appears to have too much to do
- MYGIRL DES FORGES – Well-regarded filly but regularly bites off more than she can chew. Sports a new formula but still not an obvious choice
- MALVINA MADRIK – Endured all kinds of woes in a Class C over course and distance on 15 May. Is clearly in fine shape though and Mathieu Mottier will be out to make amends
- MOUNTAIN – Like a horse reborn since starting to race barefoot, latterly winning a Class D over course and distance in good order. Is reunited with Eric Raffin and has a decent chance of making it 5 on the trot
Summary: Nicely-related, and winner of all 5 starts, MALICIA BELLA (11) made short work of her comeback run and makes her main-track bow with a realistic chance of keeping the victory-train rolling. That being said, MOUNTAIN (15) opened her Vincennes account a month ago and has yet to be bested when barefoot. MORNING PRAYER (10) was denied a run here last month and David Thomain will be keen to put things right. MALVINA MADRIK (14) was also luckless that day and will not be far off the mark if kept out of trouble.

C8 – PRIX IPHIGENIA – 2100m (a1m1/4) – Class F Amateur Drivers – Harness – EUR € 12,000 - KACEY BELL – Change of shoeing was key to her recent victory over 2550m at Reims 12 days ago. Not ideally-positioned on the inside but must nevertheless be considered a serious proposition
- JEALOUS GIRL – Placed in 1 of 2 starts at this level but has looked rather ordinary over recent weeks and will need to find more
- IMOW ROLAU – Capable trotter that has pleased more than once this term. Less effective at Le Neubourg 2.5 weeks ago but enjoys a good spot on the front line and cannot be discounted
- HORACE DU VIVIER – Is confirmed under these conditions and recently reassured at Mauquenchy, but in this company will have his work cut out
- JADORE D’ISQUES – Winner of his only amateur start, also with Sébastien Laboutique in the bike. Should not be condemned for latest effort and will be expected to finish close
- ILOVIROIZ DI LEONE – Courageous but unthreatening 5th in a 2850m amateurs Class F here 10 days ago and is not about to spring any surprises
- IKILIK – Is reunited with Pierre-Yves Gouin who has placed 2nd with him on both associations. Starts in front and although unlikely to get his nose in front, can nevertheless compete for a first-5 cheque
- HARMONIA THE BEST – Has been disappointing since opening her amateurs account at Lyon-Parilly in April. Has no Vincennes references and is unlikely to upset the status quo
- KATSUMOTO – Good servant that ran 4th in a competitive Class E at Agen late last month. Has pulled a rough number but is better than most here and can impose
- JOKER DU PONT – Never far from losing his action but did win over the short course here last month. Is reunited with Ludovic Taugourdeau who was in the bike that day, and even from the 2nd row can play a prominent role
- JET DE CANVILLE – Ran 3rd in a La Capelle Class F prior to being prepped under the saddle last month. Will be shod to preference this time and is unlikely to be too far from the action
- JUPITER DU PERCHE – Fine servant that seldom disappoints when barefoot. Comes here fresh from a spell and under these conditions can contest a place in the picture
Summary: KATSUMOTO (9) takes a big drop in category after producing a good finish at Agen late last month and despite the draw still looks the horse to beat. KACEY BELL (1), however, got back to triumphant ways at Reims a day later and may just prove the main danger. Better-placed behind the car, JADORE D’ISQUES (5) is plainly close to his race and can be forgiven his Nancy blip. JUPITER DU PERCHE (12) has yet to deliver at this level, and has not been seen out since March, but is obviously in race-mode and looks competitively well in.

She does, however, face ROCK OF ROSHA (6), who has consistently had her measure. - TANQUES – A 3-length winner of a Maiden over 1200m at Chantilly on 28 April. He takes a jump in class but is not without a chance
- KALKARA – A disappointing 7th in a Conditions race over 1200m at Chantilly on 28 April. His jockey reported that he lacked energy in his last start so that run is best ignored
- DANDY STYLE – A 2.5-length 2nd in a Conditions race over this course and distance on 22 May. Has a good turn of foot and is proven at this course so could have the edge
- AGIOTA – A 5-length 4th in a Conditions race over 1400m at Dieppe on 16 May. Has finished in the top two in all three runs over 1200m so cannot be ignored
- INJU – Finished 8th in a Gr3 event over 1400m at Deauville on 7 April. She drops significantly in class and comes in well weighted
Summary: DANDY STYLE (3) has run well since moving across the channel and based on his last run over this track and trip he looks ready to to notch up his first win in France. INJU (5) has been running in stronger fields and gets a fillies’ weight allowance in this event. AGIOTA (4) has an excellent record over this distance while KALKARA (2) is better than his last run suggests and will have Christophe Soumillon up this time.

C2 – PRIX RESCOUSSE – 2400m (a1m1/2) – TURF – Class 2 – Flat – EUR € 25,600 - KINASANI – A 3-length winner of a Maiden over 2400m at Compiegne on 9 May. Could not have been more impressive with that facile victory and he has been supplemented into this race. Major contender
- COLBERT – A 2.5-length winner of a Maiden over 2400m at Bordeaux Le Bouscat on 27 April. He might still need time to mature but he is not short on talent and has some lofty ambitions
- VAN BLUTCH – A 4.5-length 3rd in a Conditions race over 2000m at this course on 5 May. Did finish two lengths behind NITY GALESTE (6) last time and could get closer over the extra distance
- FIGHTING SPIRIT – A well-beaten 11th in a Maiden over 1800m at Evreux on 26 May. That was a poor debut run and he is best ignored
- WARHOLM – A moderate 7th in a Conditions race 1950m at ParisLongchamp on 21 May. Wil have a lot more to do to be competitive in this line-up
- NITY GALESTE – Not beaten all that far when 7th in a Conditions race over 2000m at Compiegne on 5 June. Did disappoint in that race but earlier form was good and he might prefer this longer trip
- TARDAR – Did not run badly when 4th in a Maiden over 2400m at Lyon Parilly on 8 May. Yet to win a race, he is unlikely to make much impact on this field
Summary: The manner in which KINASANI (1) won last time gives the impression he is not short on talent and it would come as no surprise were he to score a quick double. COLBERT (2) is another who comes off a solid Maiden win and must be highly thought of as he has been entered to run in the Gr1 Grand Prix de Paris. NITY GALESTE (6) is another supplementary entry and will be looking to improve over this longer trip. He did finish ahead of progressive VAN BLUTCH (3) last time.

- HOTHEADED – Finished 5th in a Listed race over 3000m at this track on 29 March. That was a disappointing comeback run after a layoff in which he was gelded but he is better than that and should be given another chance
- RASHFORD – Finished 8th in a Gr1 race over 3100m at ParisLongchamp on 21 May. Won a Gr3 in Baden Baden, Germany last year and needs to be respected
- LE LAVANDOU – A disappointing 8th in a Conditions race over 2400m at Compiegne on 9 May. Will need to do more to feature in this this
- KARLA JET – A close-up 3rd in a Listed race over 2800m at ParisLongchamp on 3 May. She is in good form but needs to prove herself at this track
- PANTHERA – A mediocre 10th in a Listed race over 2400m at Goodwood in the UK on 2 May. She did run 2nd in a Gr3 over 2800m at this course last year but that was against her own sex
Summary: HOTHEADED (3) was a facile winner of a Listed race last August followed a by 3rd place in a Grade 3. He was gelded but made a moderate return in March. However, he is very talented and should not be written off. GOYA SENORA (1) is back for another crack at this race and remains competitive. BARBATE (2) has hardly put a foot wrong in his last six starts so cannot be overlooked. RASHFORD (4) is best-weighted, has Cristian Demuro up and likes this track.

Summary: The raced runners have not shown much in this event so it could pay to look to the unraced runners for the winner. The dam of ALGEBRE (10) ran against some top opposition having placed in a Gr1 and winning a Gr3, so he could something special. QEYNAN (8) is a half-brother to Hooking, who won five Listed events and placed in a number of others. HEILIGENSTEIN (9) would have speed from his female line as his granddam won a Gr 3 over 1000m. BOULDER (6) is also well related.

Summary: HARMONY IN BLUE (3) ran with plenty of promise to be second on her debut at this track over 1200m late in May. With progress expected she is given the nod over the well bred newcomer DATA (9), who is out of a mare that won in Listed class and was placed in a Group 1 race.
