Fine Form
Dandana YO – 3.00
rubbed shoulders with some pretty hot company last season and drops down in grade for the British EBF Fillies Handicap at York.
She was an excellent fourth in the Group Two Lowther Stakes behind Royal Fixation and while fitness has to be taken on trust for her reappearance, she looks capable of going in first time out.
That Lowther run over the same course and distance she faces here was her best effort at two and Simon and Ed Crisford have been among the winners of late. She can take this on her way back towards Pattern company.
Straight Ahead YO – 4.45
was gelded after eight winless runs in his two-year-old campaign but returned to show a really good attitude when winning two races on the all-weather in the winter.
Judged solely on those runs alone Craig Lidster’s three-year-old would be of interest, but his comeback on turf at Thirsk, staying on into fourth behind Dazzling Haze, was a step up again.
Off a mark 1lb lower in the Dawson Williamson Architects Handicap at York over the minimum trip he should go close.
Room Fourteen’s CS – 4.20
handicap second to Venetia at Ascot does not look too shabby in the light of the latter’s subsequent Listed Goodwood win, albeit in much softer conditions.
James Fanshawe’s bottom weight has improved in her last two runs for the application of a hood and may only have to reproduce that runner-up effort in order to land the Chester Fillies Handicap at the Roodee.
Lequinto SN – 2.13
has been around the block a few times but looked as good as ever as a nine-year-old two runs ago when getting up close home to deny Kiss And Run at Windsor.
Tony Carroll’s gelding went on to finish a decent third at Bath off 3lb higher and that can be marked up on account of a stumble turning in after which he was allowed to come home in his own time.
He has shown a liking for Sandown before which is another positive, winning a handicap off 3lb lower in September last year and can make a bold bid in the second division of the Chris Barnett Memorial Handicap under Rossa Ryan.
Rollthedicebaby GO – 5.32
holds entries in all the big sales races from midsummer onwards and can advertise her chances with a win in the Sir Eric Parker Memorial EBF Restricted Maiden Fillies’ Stakes at Goodwood.
Richard Hannon’s filly posted a creditable debut effort at the track over the minimum trip at the beginning of May, finishing second to Armor Surpreme.
With that one going very close in a Listed contest next time and with the extra furlong likely to bring about improvement, Rollthedicebaby looks a cut above the rest of this field.
Lady Kara NA – 5.13
was a game winner the track at the end of last month and should have the legs to complete a hat-trick in the Alzheimer’s Society Mares Novices Hurdle on Newton Abbot’s evening card.
And Jamie Snowden’s Getaway gelding
Maximum Offers MR – 7.26
looks to hold the aces in the Bob and Babs Handicap Chase at Market Rasen.
