Treasurethe Moment Returns to Defend Her Memsie Stakes Title at Caulfield

Reigning champion Treasurethe Moment is set to return to Caulfield Racecourse with the aim of defending her Memsie Stakes crown in one of the opening Group 1 highlights of the 2026 Australian Spring Carnival.
The talented mare announced herself as a genuine weight-for-age star when she claimed last year’s Memsie Stakes with a brilliant first-up performance, and connections will be hoping for a repeat effort this season.
Trained by Matt Laurie, Treasurethe Moment has built an outstanding record through her consistency, versatility and powerful finishing sprint. The Group 1 contest is expected to attract another high-quality field featuring several of the country’s leading horses beginning their spring preparations. That means Treasurethe Moment will again need to produce her best to defend her title, but her proven ability fresh and impressive record at Caulfield make her one of the leading contenders. A successful defence would further strengthen her reputation as one of Australia’s premier mares and provide the perfect launchpad for another ambitious spring campaign. Connections are expected to target more elite weight-for-age races throughout the carnival, making the Memsie Stakes an important first assignment.
With an experienced training team, a proven record at the highest level and the confidence gained from last year’s triumph, Treasurethe Moment heads back to Caulfield carrying plenty of momentum. If she reproduces her trademark late acceleration, the defending champion will once again be the horse every rival must beat in the 2026 Memsie Stakes.
