Summary: Last years winner SPYCATCHER (2) found the burden of top-weight too much in the Ayr Gold Cup handicap on his latest start. He can bounce back from that and get the better of MISE EN BOITE (1),who could be the main threat, having found the 1000m trip on the sharp side last time and will be better suited by today’s journey. EXTREMELY ZAIN (5) is improving and this lightly raced three-year old has plenty more to come. KAILANI (6) is normally held-up and can be expected to be finishing strongly at the business end.

- PEOPLE CHOPE – Ran 6th in a Maiden at Nimes over 1,200m on 4 October. Is well held by others on that debut performance
- OREA DE ROMAY – Ran 7th in a Maiden at Nimes over 1,200m on 4 October. Will need to make massive improvement to have any chance

Summary: Unraced BRODIE’S WISH (8) is well bred and her half-sister, her dam’s only other foal, was a very easy winner on debut and that augurs well for this filly. FAHRENHEIT (2) is coming along the right way and could prove a threat making his debut for Christophe Escuder. LOVELY WARRIOR (1) won a Claimer last time and has experience on his side. SAINTE ROMY (7) could place with the help of a good draw and her jockey’s allowance.

- KRISTAL – Finished 3rd in a Maiden at Marseille-Borely over 2,600m on 12 October. He was beaten 3 lengths by the top two selections and is unlikely to reverse the result with either of them
- PIKES PEAK – Threatening to win and was runner-up in a Maiden at Marseille-Borely over 2,600m on 12 October. He was just touched off last time by SKALI (1) and is 3kg better off so should reverse the result
- LES PRINCES – Came home 5th in a Claimer at Marseille Pont De Vivaux over 2,000m on 7 October. Tries this distance for the first time so he is an unknown quantity
- PERSIANROMY – Not disgraced when third in a Maiden at Cavaillon over 2,200m on 11 October. She rarely runs a bad race and could place at the weights

- ASYLLA – Successful in a Maiden at Amiens over 2,200m on 27 September. Won comfortably by 2.5 lengths and that victory should have built her confidence
Summary: While this does look to be a competitive race, ALTOSTRATUS (5) made an impressive winning debut, and this gelding could have a bright future. He will have most to fear from COSMIC BOY (2), who is a lot better than his disappointing last race after coming back from a break. Summary: NUMBER ONE D’ARBAZ (4) shaped well at La Capelle, showing that he has plenty of ability, and gets the tentative vote. NORMA DU LEARD (6) has been competing in stronger company but returns from a break with a more favourable shoeing setup and Paul Ploquin in the sulky, making her a serious danger. NARVAL PIERJI (1) has not been seen since winning at Pornichet in late August and has since changed yards, so his presence here is certainly worth noting. NEO DE FAEL (7) has the ability to make the frame provided he keeps his composure.
