R1 AMIENS [R-H]
C1 – GRAND NATIONAL DU TROT – 2900m (a2m) – Gr3 – Harness – EUR € 90,000
- LOVER MAN – Starts for the first time since winning a Vincennes Class B mid-December and with shoes fitted will have nothing to offer
- JENTIL DIESCHOOT – Serious type when barefoot and focused. Has been enjoying fine form in Paris and on the Riviera and from the front row can give this a good go
- JOOST D’OLERON – Won a Vincennes Class D before running valiant 4th in a Toulouse Class D 2 weeks ago. Takes on a considerably better lot this time though and chances limited
- HAUTAIN – Surprising 5th in a Vincennes Class D a fortnight back, however a repeat seems improbable
- IENA D’ORGERES – No slouch on a good day, and has form here, but is in significantly better company this time and chances limited
- HALL BLACK MESS – Tough individual that was a very unlucky 7th to JILORD VIVA (16) in a 2850m Class B here on 17 February. Sports pads this time and best to hold off
- IBIS QUICK – Returns to the mainstream after having reassured in the claiming category, but at this level will have nothing to offer
- JUST DE L’OISON – Given time to recalibrate after failing to deliver in Paris 2 months ago. Is shod to preference for Amiens bow and from the front line will be expected to put in a good showing. Place chance
- IRIS FROM – Has hardly put a foot wrong over recent months, latterly just missing out in a Bordeaux Class B on Boxing Day. Is more competitively-shod for comeback and is not to be underestimated
- IPALIO – Returns to France, and to racing barefoot, after an unexceptional conditioner in Victoria Park mid-February. Goes right-handed for the first time and is unlikely to spice things up
- JOCONDE SIBEY – Mare that is considerably better than recent results would suggest. Has impressed in 3 of 5 clockwise runs and, considering the entry, is hard to ignore
- HOLD UP DREAM – Failed to deliver in a 2100m Vincennes Class B on 11 January. Ran 2nd here last summer, on his sole start at the venue, and considering the engagement, is worth keeping an eye on
- IRON MESLOIS – Returned to winning ways in a 2700m Vincennes claimer 2.5 weeks ago but is biting off more than he can chew this time
- KAPTAIN DU LIAMONE – Consistently performant element that has been knocking at the door over recent months. Is new to the venue but is highly-adaptable and in current form is in with a realistic shout
- HADES DE L’ITON – Got straight down to business on comeback in late-January, easily securing a Cagnes Gr.3. Has not been seen at Amiens since imposing here in 2021 but will have come on for his re-entry run and looks a serious proposition once more
- JILORD VIVA – Won a 2850m Vincennes Class B, from the 2nd line, a fortnight ago. Boasts an excellent record with Eric Raffin and a repeat is eminently possible
Summary: 4th in the coveted and competitive Gr.3 Prix de la Côte d’Azur before running 3rd in the Gr.3 Prix Jean René Gougeon in late-January, KAPTAIN DU LIAMONE (14) has decent right-handed references and is easy to fancy for the win. He will nevertheless face a stiff challenge from JILORD VIVA (16) who ran 5th that day before superbly securing a Vincennes Class B a fortnight ago, and the wonderfully consistent HADES DE L’ITON (15) who made short work of a Cagnes Gr.3 last time out. JUST DE L’OISON (8) appears the best bet from the front line and looks a player on his Amiens bow. That said, JENTIL DIESCHOOT (2) has been firing on all cylinders and must be taken seriously.

C2 – PRIX FUGA FORMATION – 2900m (a2m) – Class F Amateur Drivers – Harness – EUR € 8,000 - KISMETE DES BRUMES – Won a 2400m Class F at 36-1 here in November before failing to repeat the following month. Has been off the track since and is unlikely to spring any surprises
- KOKA RIGHT – Modest trotter making first appearance since failing to make any impression in a Vincennes claimer on 29 December. Shoes on once more and can expect to have few friends
- KIMMAJO – Ran 2nd here on penultimate start last September. Has not been seen out since October, and sports front pads this time, but will be partnered by Sebastien Laboutique and, from the front row, looks a player
- JOLIE CLAIRE – Capable when focused but is a handful at the best of times, and is unlikely to make her presence felt on first start since October
- KIR ROYAL – Useful campaigner with Amiens form but has not been seen out since August and, with shoes on, has no possible chance
- JULIANA SPIRIT – Imposed at Graignes before finishing last but one at Vincennes 12 days ago. On front row again but still an outsider
- ICARE DU FAOUET – Moderate individual starting for the first time since being trounced in a Vincennes amateur Class G on 11 December. Is clearly in conditioning-mode and can be passed over
- KRONOS D’ERPION – Placed in 2 before coming respectable 7th in a Mauquenchy Class E 3 weeks ago. Is new to the amateur division but is plainly in good shape and will be expected to compete for a place in the frame
- INKERMAN DE PLAY – Fine servant with excellent references at this level, but has been out of competition since mid-December and is going to need the race
- INCOGNITO – Fine trotter with nothing to prove in the amateur division. Has previously won here and even though unseen since November, will have his supporters
- JACKPOT DE VIETTE – Starts for the first time since 10 November, and would be preferred barefoot, but has won his last 3 amateur races and must be taken seriously
- JITANA WILD – Has merit but has disappointed in last 3. Takes on a tough bunch here and the handicap will do her no favours
- JASMIN DANOVER – Has been knocking at the door since the turn of the year. Is arguably better in the professional ranks but is nevertheless easy to recommend
- KINGMAN DELO – Makes first appearance for new yard following a lengthy break. Will have been specifically prepared for this and can get straight back in the game
- HIJO MOKO – Returns to the amateur category after failing to make much impact in a Class F under these conditions on 21 February, and is unlikely to create an upset
- HUNMEC SOMOLLI – Decent trotter with a pair of runs under his belt after 11 months off. Faces a tough task with a 50m handicap but still looks a contender
Summary: KINGMAN DELO (14) may not have been seen out since last August but he faces a relatively modest task, from the 2nd row, on his return to racing, and will be competitively-shod for the occasion. Pascal Garreau will still want to be wary of lone back-row starter, HUNMEC SOMOLLI (16), who sports modified shoeing for his first objective of the season, and KRONOS D’ERPION (8) who should not be hastily-judged for his Mauquenchy blip. In the frame in his last 4, JASMIN DANOVER (13) will be shod for his Amiens debut and is unlikely to disappoint.

C3 – PRIX DE L’AERODROME DE PICARDIE – 2400m (a1m1/2) – Class F Amateur Riders – Harness – EUR € 18,500 - KOMMUNES DE PLAY – Went off the boil late last season. Has just the one race in her since, will be barefoot this time, but others still easier to back
- KEVIVE DE MAIL – Still very much in contention when eliminated in a Vincennes Class E mid-January. Is proven at Amiens, sports 4 pads this time, and will not be far off the mark if she stays in stride
- KANELLE D’OUVILLE – Quality mare returning to racing barefoot after being conditioned at Mauquenchy last week. Is proven at the venue, is better than most and, with application, will be competitive when it matters
- KIRENE FLASH – Warmed-up here 11 days ago after her Maure re-entry earlier in the month. Is seldom far from the action when barefoot, has been handed the 4-slot, and looks the one to beat
- KALINE D’ERPION – Capable mare that placed on lone Amiens appearance. Sports front pads for re-entry and best to keeps one’s powder dry
- KLOE D’ARRY – Tough element that has imposed just the once but will have come on for her re-entry run and benefits from ideal conditions this time around. Chance
- KISS ME DUTOLLEM – Useful element making first start since early-November. Could have pulled a worse draw, has previously placed here, and will be barefoot for the occasion. Attention
- KAGOUYA OTSUSUKI – Pleasant 5th of 13 on re-entry 3 weeks ago in a Lyon-La Soie Class F. Has yet to win at Amiens and is not about to this time either
- KASANE DU BISET – Went completely off the boil last season and will be shod for comeback. Disregard
- KYRIELLE DES MONTS – Very disappointing over recent months and will be barefoot for Amiens bow, but still not a concern
- KUEEN DE TILLARD – Can trot but has not been seen out for 4 months and would be preferred barefoot
- KUEEN DE MONGUERET – Surprising, but also very unlucky, 3rd in a 3000m Nantes Class E on 21 February. Is new to Amiens but is plainly in rude health and, despite the draw, must be taken seriously
Summary: KIRENE FLASH (4) went close more than once last season before being put away; she has a pair of runs under her belt by now and, excellent when barefoot, can secure her first victory since August 2024. She will be opposed though by KLOE D’ARRY (6) who is both ideally-positioned and ideally-engaged. KUEEN DE MONGUERET (12) left a very good impression on her recent Nantes comeback and will not be sent out at 98-1 this time. KANELLE D’OUVILLE (3) is very hard to knock when barefoot and focused and the draw will do her prospects no disservice.

C4 – PRIX DU NEMROD – 2400m (a1m1/2) – Class F – Harness – EUR € 17,500 - NILIPPE MAUZUN – Unexceptional in qualification here last August but has had 7 months to be honed. Hails from a good family and has a decent chance of getting straight into action. Place chance
- NOT SO BAD – Made little impact here in October when qualifying in 1’20’1. Has had ample time to come on though and cannot be discounted
- NINO PRESTO – Eliminated on debut early last month in a Cherbourg Class F. Subsequently showed his form though and on good behaviour can finish in the mix
- NEMO D’ARNHEM – Eliminated in first 4 starts before finishing distant 4th in a Mauquenchy Class E 3 weeks ago, and can be confidently ruled out
- NAVAKI PLANCHETTE – Promising individual debuting for new trainer after 7 months off the track. Showed good speed first time out, is well-positioned here, and will be well-backed to win this
- NEW YORK AVEC TOI – Has yet to show any particular flair for the discipline and is unlikely to shake things up on first appearance since early-October
- NEVER ON TIME – Pleasantly surprised when 4th in a Pontchateau Class F 2.5 weeks ago. Leading pilot in the bike this time and will be expected to contest the finish
- NUSTANG JOLY – Has not been seen out since finishing last but one in a Class E at Le Croise-Laroche on 27 October and is not easy to recommend
Summary: Unraced since debuting well at Neuille-Pont-Pierre last summer, NAVAKI PLANCHETTE (5) has since changed yards. He will have come on over the winter and returns to the track with a decent chance of losing his maiden tag. Tim Schwarma will still want to be mindful of NEVER ON TIME (7) who will be reined by Alexandre Abrivard for the occasion, and Christopher Nicole’s nicely-related debutant, NILIPPE MAUZUN (1), who is most certainly one to watch.

C5 – PRIX DU CLOS GERBEROY – 2400m (a1m1/2) – Class D – Harness – EUR € 26,000 - LORENZO GEDE – In the frame in 2 of last 3, most recently 2nd in a Mauquenchy Class E on 26 January. Has placed just once in 4 racing clockwise, but in current condition is hard to ignore
- L’ARC – Modest sort that has done nothing noteworthy for the past year and can be confidently ruled out
- LERWICK PERRINE – Switches code for first time after running 4th in a 2175m Vincennes monte Class D on 8 February. Shoes fitted and no threat
- LOULIANA DE VANDEL – Gave a reassuringly good account when 2nd in a Nantes Class D on 25 January. Should have no issue with the new conditions and will be expected to apply the pressure on LINO GUILLERVILLE (7)
- LOUBIANA DU BOURG – Ran 2nd at Angers before coming 3rd in an Agen Class E on 9 February. Is shod as she was that day and even against the boys has a decent chance of finishing close
- LINOTTE DU MOUCHEL – Not the most courageous of trotters but always gives her best. Pleased on sole start at the venue, is in less-exalted company here, and can trot her way into first 5
- LINO GUILLERVILLE – In top shape and at home racing right-handed. Faces a less difficult task than he did at Vincennes 2.5 weeks ago and is easy to fancy for the win
- LILY ROSE MYSTIC – Undeniably capable but completely lost her way over the winter. Is barefoot following a spell and, although not a priority, will have her supporters
- LULU DES CARREAUX – Springs the occasional surprise and has placed here, but stays shod for first start of the new season and can be passed over
- LOOPING MIL – Won a Vincennes Class E at 23-1 in mid-January, but failed to repeat in better company 11 days later. Drops back to a more suitable category and even from the back line can figure prominently
- LIFOU IRIS’EYES – Handy sort with solid right-handed credentials but is fitted with shoes for comeback and best to wait
- LUSANIO DE WARNOC – Quality trotter staying shod for first start since early-November and is unlikely to be given a hard race
Summary: One of the toughest horses here and in top form since the turn of the year, LINO GUILLERVILLE (7) makes his Amiens bow with every chance of making it a successful one. Better-placed on the front line though, and proven racing clockwise, LOULIANA DE VANDEL (4) will have his chances. Back to racing barefoot after reassuring at Mauquenchy, LORENZO GEDE (1) looks competitively well in, as does the well-positioned LOUBIANA DU BOURG (5) who has turned a corner recently.
SELECTIONS

C6 – PRIX KING BLACK – 2900m (a2m) – Class F – Mounted – EUR € 26,000 - JUNIOR INTRIGANT – Returns to the discipline following a pair of unremarkable harness conditioners and in this company will have too much to do
- JERSEY ISLAND – Showed fine aptitude for the code early last year. Goes barefoot for first goal of the season bit still not a concern
- HISTOIRE D’ELLE – Moderate mare that ran flattering 4th of 6 finishers in a Class G at Le Mont-Saint-Michel 2.5 weeks ago and is unlikely to be troubling the judge
- JAGUAR DE VILLETOT – Has imposed just once in 37 starts but is consistent nevertheless. Goes well in both directions and is not incapable of making first 5
- INFINITIF D’ERABLE – Placed in 2 before finishing lacklustre 6th in an Angers Class F on 15 January. Should not be too hastily-judged though and, reunited with Adrien Lamy, can get back in the game
- FEROX BRICK – Has yet to be tested under the saddle in France but has decent references at home in Sweden, is clearly in fine shape, and can make this his own
- DEE GODFATHER – Comfortably won at Saint-Galmier before disappointing somewhat in Paris. Has never failed to deliver going right-handed and looks main danger to FEROX BRICK (6)
- ISOLINA – 3rd in a Cabourg Class E before taking on too much at Vincennes on Christmas Eve. Returns to a more suitable category and can challenge for a place on the podium
- IDEAL D’ARTONGES – Has done nothing noteworthy since placing here last July and even racing barefoot will have little to offer
- JIHERE DU PORET – Complicated element that is considerably more performant than his latest results would imply. Going well when eliminated at Angers in January and, if behaved, is unlikely to let the side down
Summary: As solid as a rock since coming south, FEROX BRICK (6) races shod for his re-entry run and, reunited with Alexandre Abrivard who imposed with him at Lisieux last September, can get straight back down to business. Compatriot DEE GODFATHER (7) opened his French account at Saint-Galmier and returns to racing right-handed with a a reasonable chance of imposing. A reconfigured JIHERE DU PORET (10) has buckets of spirit but has bags of ability too, and his place is in the money if Alexis Collette manages to keep him focused. Third at Cabourg prior to failing to produce the goods at Vincennes, ISOLINA (8) has yet to disappoint for Victor Saussaye and has freshness on her side.

C7 – PRIX KEMI – 2400m (a1m1/2) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 30,000 - ISLA (GER) – Serious mare that consistently gives everything she has. Has been showing her form in Paris recently and returns to racing clockwise with a a very good hand to play
- DILVA JET – Put in a fine performance to run 5th in a Vincennes Class D a week ago. Has a lot going for her this time and has a realistic chance of opening her French account
- JUDY MATIDY – Has pleased twice since easily winning a Class E over course and distance on 26 November. Enjoys a good entry here and from the 3-slot is unlikely to be far off the mark
- IL PLEUT BERGERE – Gives a good account at Amiens for the most part but sports pads for comeback and is best left alone
- HAPPY ATOUT – Starts for the first time since early-December. Is plainly in conditioning-mode and will have nothing to contribute
- JUNKIE (SWE) – Made up for Vincennes blip when 4th of 15 in a Laval Class D 2 weeks ago and, with form maintained, can confirm
- SILVER BULLIT(SWE) – Reassured in Gelsenkirchen in January but was unable to confirm at Vincennes on 10 February. Has little going for him here and chances appear limited
- IDEAL MOSSA – Useful but disappointing in last 2 starts. Has won twice at the venue but would be preferred barefoot
- ROSSI GARLINE – Surprising 5th behind ISLA (GER) (1) in a 2100m Vincennes Class E on 10 February. Sports pads this time and the draw will do him no favours
- KAXIG IN – Should not be too hastily-judged for failing to deliver in Paris 2.5 weeks ago. Is plainly better than that and returning to racing shod may be just the ticket to his redemption
Summary: Proven in Sweden, Italy, and most recently at Vincennes, DILVA JET (2) will be entrusted to Alexandre Abrivard for the first time and, in the absence of the boys this time, looks thoroughly capable of imposing. ISLA (GER) (1), however, has taken particularly well to French conditions and will be no easy touch. KAXIG IN (10) reverts to racing shod after disappointing in Paris last month and benefits from a Matthieu Abrivard drive for the occasion. JUNKIE (SWE) (6) showed some encouraging signs at Laval a fortnight ago and a similar performance could see her back in the frame.

C8 – PRIX OURAGON – 2400m (a1m1/2) – Class E – Harness – EUR € 20,000 - MARIE CHARLOTTE – In the frame in every start to date, is as good going left-handed as right-, and it is only a matter of time before she gets her nose in front. Chance
- MAESTRO DE PAGERIE – Has returned to competitive ways since starting to race barefoot. Benefits from a front-row draw and is easy to like for a place in first 5
- MYSTIC MAN – Has looked decidedly ordinary since returning in the autumn and appears to have no realistic choice
- MARVELOUS PIYA – Tricky filly but has previously scored over course and distance. Has 2 runs in her since the break and will be no pushover if Alexandre Abrivard manages to keep her focused
- ME AND YOU – Showed promise early last season but then went off the boil. Starts for first time since November, with front pads fitted, but still not an obvious choice
- MOZART LA LONDE – Yet to get off the mark but is regularly in the thick of things. Was found wanting on re-entry but will have progressed for the run and should not be ruled out
- MA LADY DU GARDEN – Will be competitively-shod for the first time after a pair of return runs. Has placed in 1 of 2 for Matthieu Abrivard and cannot be discounted
- MAUNY DE PLAY – Quality element that has struggled somewhat this season. Encouraged at Nantes though and despite a less-than-ideal draw, still looks competitive for a place cheque
- MILO JO – Tough type that was not the most fortunate in last 2 starts. Has ample ability though and will have his chances if Franck Ouvrie keeps him trotting
- MASCOTTE DU STADE – Made a solid return to competition early last month when 2nd in a 2700m Graignes Class E. Will have come on for the race, will be barefoot for the first time, and even in this better company should still be good enough to pick up some prizemoney
- MADISHA JOSSELYN – Winner of her only start under these conditions but has not raced in public since last summer and can be ruled out
- MIKONOS DE MAHEY – Serious future prospect but has not been seen out since last July and will not be given a hard race
- MEDELLIN ELLIS – Useful for the most part but was trounced in Paris last time out. Has no right-handed references and others easier to back
Summary: MILO JO (9) returns to racing right-handed, and sports a fresh configuration, following a pair of Vincennes eliminations. He has been handed a second-row draw but is plainly in form and, with application, can open his 2026 account. MARIE CHARLOTTE (1) has run 2nd in her last 4 starts though and will be a tough nut to crack if she takes to the Amiens profile. Entrusted to Alexandre Abrivard for the first time, and already a winner here, MARVELOUS PIYA (4) enjoys a good spot behind the car and will be dangerous if focused. Another with a similar profile, MAUNY DE PLAY (8) returns to racing shod and should have the wherewithal to finish close.

Summary: With a rating of 43, CHILL Y FLAMA (5) comes into this race as the best weighted runner in this strong field. She has put up four top-class performances, all over this distance. INDIFFERENTE (7) is another promising filly who looked impressive when winning a Maiden over this track and trip. She could follow up. Summary: HOMO DEUS (1) has a good record in features, winning Listed races and placing in Group events. He is the highest rated runner and the underfoot conditions could suit him although he does try this trip for the first time. ANNABEL’S GHOST (4) produced a punishing finish to win last time and is in top form. MAY IT BE (6) came back from a lengthy break to run two excellent seconds and deserves respect. CHERGUI (2) is in top form and is proven in soft ground.

Summary: A very competitive handicap where only a couple can safely be ruled out. SASKATOON (1) is in very good shape and likes this course, so gets the vote to score. WAZIERS (3) showed improvement over this course and distance last time out and should have more to offer. REVE DE VALLARSA (4) and BREIZH MOON (5) have only been modest of late, but they have run in better races than this and can get involved in the finish.
