R1 VINCENNES [L-H]
C1 – PRIX REGULUS – 2850m (a2m) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 59,000
- INES DE LA ROUVRE – Steps back into the professional ranks, and goes barefoot, after running 2nd of 12 in a 2875m Enghien Class F last week. Benjamin Rochard in the bike this time and should be competitive for a minor place cheque
- INKY PERRINE – Back under harness after finishing 6th of 11 in a 2700m monte Class E here on 22 March and is not about to spring any surprises
- IDREAMIS – Hardy mare returning to the capital after winning a 3175m Saint-Omer Class F last week. Unlikely to repeat but can still put on another good show
- IMAGE D’ATALANTE – Opened 2025 account at Maure-de-Bretagne before running 9th of 13 in a 2625m Cherbourg Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Sports modified shoeing but still not a concern
- HISTOIREMIKA – Pleasantly surprising 4th of 14 in a 2725m Graignes Class E 10 days ago, however a repeat seems most improbable
- HELIA DE FROMENTIN – In the frame in last 4, most recently 2nd of 13 in a 2700m Class E here 3 weeks ago. Placed in 1 of 2 under these conditions, breaks on front line, and in present shape looks a danger to INFERNA DE HOUELLE (9)
- HARENA DE MARZY – Not disgraced when 6th of 13 behind HELIA DE FROMENTIN (6) in a 2700m Class E here 3 weeks ago but still needs to find more
- GUESS FOUTEAU – Encouraging 3rd of 13, a place behind HELIA DE FROMENTIN (6), in a 2700m Class E here 3 weeks ago. Takes on some good younger horses but still looks a respectable first-5 chance
- INFERNA DE HOUELLE – Fine mare that ran 7th of 15 on re-entry in a Laval Class D over the distance 2 weeks ago. Thrives over 2850m here and with Mathieu Mottier reining can expect the lion’s share of support
- IS MAGIC HAUFOR – 7th of 15 in a Class D over course and distance a fortnight ago. Has just her own sex to contend with this time and should prove competitive for a spot on the podium
- HISA DU MARGAS – Last but one in a Class D over course and distance a month back and is not about to influence the result
- IDYLLE EXPRESS – Returns to a track she likes after being sanctioned in a 2850m Maure-de-Bretagne Gr.3 on 23 April. Arguably better over 2700m but with JMB reining should not be underestimated
Summary: Given a short rest after a hectic winter, INFERNA DE HOUELLE (9) has a run under her belt, goes barefoot under conditions she adores, and can make this her own. Back at her best and clearly close to her race, HELIA DE FROMENTIN (6) will be no easy touch. Nicely entered close to the limit of earnings, IDYLLE EXPRESS (12) is proven over course and distance and can play an active role if JMB keeps her focused. IS MAGIC HAUFOR (10) is markedly better than her latest run would suggest and will not have the males to take on this time.

C2 – PRIX DIPHDA – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 46,000 - ELTON BI – Unable to confirm Bologna victory when quickly sanctioned in a 2875m Enghien Class B last week and can be easily passed over
- MAN OF STEEL (GER) – Returns to France after finishing 7th of 8 over 2520m at Berlin-Mariendorf 3 weeks ago and is not about to cause an upset
- EBRIUS (ITY) – Back at a more reasonable level after running 8th of 16 in a 2100m Class C here on 5 April. JMB in the bike this time and will be expected to set the record straight
- ERES DORIAL MAIL – Failed to confirm Reims performance when 7th of 8 in a 2875m Enghien Class A 3 weeks ago. Yet to show any liking for these conditions and is not about to shake things up
- ELON MAIL – Never dangerous 9th of 16, a place behind EBRIUS (ITY) (3), in a 2100m Class C here on 5 April. Front shoes off this time, appreciates 2700m here, and Pierre-Yves Verva will be determined to put things right
- ELOISE GAR – 5th of 14 over 2100m in Naples late-March. Has never excelled at Vincennes but has merit and cannot be ruled out
- NECTAR OCCAGNES – Hardy Swedish raider making first start since being sanctioned over 3140m at Jagersro last October. Hind shoes on and cannot be considered a priority
- KANKAL – Sprang an 18/1 surprise when storming up in a Class E over course and distance a month back. In better company this time but in current condition is easy to like
- EL DORADO BAR – Has taken well to French conditions, most recently dominating a 2550m Reims Class E a month ago, and in similar form can wrap this up
- ELAND – Respectable 6th of 16 in a 2150m Enghien Class D on 7 March. In the frame in both starts over track and trip though and is unlikely to disappoint
- ESPRESSO ITALIA – Takes first French steps after winning over a mile in Turin on 13 April but seems to be taking on too much
- ELEONORA GRIF – Unseen since running 7th of 11 over 2140m at Solvalla on 18 December and will have nothing to offer
- KENZO DU MONT – Sanctioned when going well in a Class D over track and trip on 21 March. Takes on a better bunch this time and others preferred
- ETERNITY BAR (ITY) – Makes first appearance since winning over 2100m in Naples on 21 February. Is in the care of new trainer, goes first-time barefoot, and looks a leading proposition
- KADOR D’ESPACE – Put a pair of Cagnes sanctions behind him to come 3rd of 14 in a Class D over track and trip on 4 April. Has been afforded ample time to recover and if applied should again figure prominently
Summary: Productive since coming north, EL DORADO BAR (9) opened her French account in style a month ago and is eminently capable of repeating. She will still come under pressure from his well-engaged compatriote ETERNITY BAR (ITY) (14) who makes her French debut barefoot and fresh, and the useful EBRIUS (ITY) (3) who will be partnered by Jean-Michel Bazire for the occasion. ELAND (10) left a good impression under these conditions earlier in the year and with Franck Ouvrie reining will be afforded every chance.

C3 – PRIX SIRIUS – 2175m (a1m1/4) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 40,000 - LOVE DE CERIZE – Redeemed himself somewhat when 5th of 10 in a 2850m Laval Class E a fortnight back. Races barefoot for first time and will not be far from the action if Jean-Etienne Abrivard keeps him focused
- LOUXOR DE GUEZ – Tricky character that finished last of 12 in a 2700m Class D here 2 weeks ago, on first start since last September, and is not about to trouble the judge
- LOUSTIC D’YVEL – 7th of 12 behind LE MAESTRO (8) in a 2700m Class D here 2 weeks ago. Will have come on for the race but has no particular love for the main track and others easier to back
- LEONARDO – Sanctioned on Laval re-entry before comfortably winning a 2725m Graignes Class E on 13 April. Is new to the venue but has shown enough quality to win a race of this nature
- LOVELY MILL – Won 2 in a row before finishing 9th of 12 behind LE MAESTRO (8) in a 2700m Class D here 2 weeks ago. Should not be condemned too hastily and with the help of Alexandre Abrivard, can redeem himself
- LEONARDO DU DERBY – Good 3rd of 12, on comeback, in a 2700m Class E here on 18 April. Will have come on for the run and will be expected to confirm. Chance
- LOULOU DE L’AUNAY – Surprise 5th of 18 on comeback in a 2750m Ecommoy Class E 2.5 weeks ago but has yet to deliver here and is not about to start now
- LE MAESTRO – Returns to Paris after running 2nd of 12 in a 2875m Meslay-du-Maine Class D earlier in the week. Will have no issue with the shorter trip and represents a decent podium prospect
- LE BOSS DANOVER – Sanctioned, on return to competition, in a 2150m Enghien Class D 3 weeks ago. Has a lot going for him here and will be no pushover if he gets off on the right foot
Summary: Winner of 4 from 5 so far, it took LEONARDO (4) little time returning to victorious ways following his layoff and, reconfigured for the occasion, with Jean-Michel Bazire reining, will not be easy to oppose. That said, LEONARDO DU DERBY (6) gave a reassuringly good account here 3 weeks ago and looks the main threat. LE MAESTRO (8) got back in the game on Monday and backs up with a decent chance of making the frame once more. LE BOSS DANOVER (9) is just 5 Euros from elimination and will not be far off the mark if Matthias Legros keeps him trotting.

C4 – PRIX LEO – 2850m (a2m) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 59,000 - HANDZARO DU BOCAGE – 5th of 14 in a 2725m Graignes Class E 10 days ago. Gives a good account for the most part when barefoot, and starts in front, but will still find this a much stiffer test
- HAMIGO – Quality element making first appearance since running 10th of 14 in a 2725m Cabourg Class E in early-January. Won a similar event in November, is barefoot as he was that day, and starts in front. Attention
- IQUITO PLANCHETTE – Returns to racing barefoot after finishing last but one in a 2700m Class D here on Saturday. Should be more competitive but still no more than a minor place prospect
- GAROU DU CHENE – Lost ground early but still finished a notable 8th in 25 April race of reference, and will have a lot to offer if he gets off on the right foot
- GAMIN D’ALJY – 10th of 13 on re-entry in a 2700m Machecoul Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Stays shod and can be passed over
- GALANT DE BRUYERE – 9th of 14 behind INDIGO PIERJI (7) in a 2400m Amiens Class D early last month. Has merit but is being aimed too high
- INDIGO PIERJI – Would have finished considerably closer than 11th of 16 in a 2100m Class D here last week had he been afforded a run. Alexandre Abrivard in the bike this time and can set the record straight
- GRAND SOURIRE – In the frame in last 2, latterly 3rd of 15 in a 2850m Laval Class D on 24 April, and in the day’s configuration is hard to ignore
- HAUTBRION COLMI – Quickly sanctioned in a Class D over course and distance a fortnight ago. Has little to prove under these conditions though and will not be far off the mark if Paul Ploquin keeps him trotting
- HURRICANE CARTER – Produced a fine effort to come 4th of 15, a place behind IQUEM D’AMER (16), in a Class D over course and distance 2 weeks ago. Will have come on for the run and can impose this time
- IN RED – Fine campaigner starting for first time since finishing 10th of 11 in a 2700m Class B here mid-February. Shoes on and best to hold off
- GAGNEUR – Was not completely out of the picture when sanctioned in race of reference but still seems to have his work cut out
- ETHAN DRIVE – Did not enjoy the best of runs but still came 4th of 16 in a Class D over track and trip on 11 April. Hard to fault these days when barefoot and has already won twice for JMB. First 5
- GARANCIO BELLO – Reassuring 5th of 16, a place behind ETHAN DRIVE (13), in a Class D over track and trip on 11 April. Races barefoot this time and, with application, can get in on the action
- HOBBES – 10th of 12 on re-entry in 25 April race of reference. Reverts to a previous formula but still looks out of his depth
- IQUEM D’AMER – Quality element that came 3rd of 15 in a Class D over course and distance 2 weeks ago. Boasts an excellent course-and-distance record and can get his nose in front
Summary: One of the toughest horses in the category, HURRICANE CARTER (10) finished a place behind the wonderfully-consistent IQUEM D’AMER (16) on re-entry here a fortnight back but looks a marginally bet this time. GAROU DU CHENE (4) was unsure of stride that day but nevertheless showed his form and Anthony Duperche will be hoping to put things right. INDIGO PIERJI (7) endured all sorts of woes here last week but will be no pushover if kept out of trouble. Seldom far from the action when applied, HAUTBRION COLMI (9) must be considered a player.

C5 – PRIX PAUL KARLE – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Gr2 Race – Harness – EUR € 120,000 - MARDOUK DE GODREL – Showed the limit of his capacity when last of 6 finishers to MAT MANATHIS (7) in 2175m Gr.3 Prix Atlas here 3 weeks ago and will have few takers
- MANASLU – Good, consistent colt that ran 3rd of 7 to MAT MANATHIS (7) in 2175m Gr.3 Prix Atlas here 3 weeks ago. Is not about to get his nose in front but will be competitive for a first-5 cheque
- MAESTRO RIVER – A place behind MAITRE JACQUES (9) in Prix Paul Viel before faulting in Gr.1 Prix Comte Pierre de Montesson on 16 February. Returns refreshed and, if applied, will be expected to give MAITRE JACQUES (9) a run for his money
- MAKE A DREAM – Won a Class A over course and distance before coming close 2nd of 6 to MAT MANATHIS (7) in 2175m Gr.3 Prix Atlas here 3 weeks ago. Has earned the right to race at this level and can again go close
- MAGNUM DU CHOQUEL – Handy colt making first start since being sanctioned in Gr.1 Prix Comte Pierre de Montesson. Has references under these conditions but still not an obvious choice
- MONZON NORMAND – 2nd of 7 when preparing for this over 2300m in Mons 3 weeks ago. Has evident ability but is not about to shake things up
- MAT MANATHIS – Comfortable winner of 2175m Gr.3 Prix Atlas here 3 weeks ago. Is patently progressing and Benjamin Rochard keeps the drive. Chance
- METEORE DE SIMM – Made it 4 on the trot when victorious in a 2175m monte Gr.2 here on 12 April. Has other priorities and best to hold off
- MAITRE JACQUES – Unraced since making short work of Gr.1 Prix Comte Pierre de Montesson over track and trip on 16 February. Is current leader of his generation and will be expected to stay that way
Summary: A terrific colt that dominated the Gr.1 Prix Comte Pierre de Montesson here mid-February, MAITRE JACQUES (9) will have been well-honed for his return to the track and will be expected to continue his strong forward march. The classy MAESTRO RIVER (3) has not been seen out either since faulting that day but has been afforded ample time to recalibrate and Eric Raffin will be determined to put things right. MAT MANATHIS (7) and MAKE A DREAM (4) ran one-two in a Gr.3 here last month and both are capable of challenging for a place in the frame.

C6 – PRIX JEAN GAUVREAU – ETRIER 5 ANS Q2 – 2175m (a1m1/4) – – Mounted – EUR € 120,000 - KENIDILLE – Sanctioned in all 3 starts this year, latterly a 2750m Ecommoy harness Class D on 20 April, and is not about to ruffle any feathers
- KANTHABELLA – Sanctioned when unsupported in a 2850m Laval Class C on 24 April and has nothing to contribute
- KANO – 6th of 13, on 2nd start back, in a 2700m harness Class C here a fortnight ago. Hind shoes off for monte debut but seems to be taking on too much
- KASBAH PERRINE – Last of 11 on re-entry in a 2850m Maure-de-Bretagne harness Class C on 23 April. Not the most dependable horse here but is no slouch on a good day and must be taken seriously
- KEYNOTE – Steps back up in category after running 3rd of 12 in a 2875m Enghien Class B last week. Unlikely to spring a surprise but can nevertheless hold his own
- KELLY DE BANVILLE – Quality mare starting for first time since faulting in a 2700m Gr.2 here mid-February. Shoes off for first start back and, if applied, can make a big splash
- KAPAULA DE L’EPINE – Returns to racing barefoot after coming 2nd of 8 in a 2850m Gr.2 here 2 weeks ago and on good behaviour can bring the fight to KYT KAT (8)
- KYT KAT – Failed to make his mark when sanctioned in a 2200m Gr.1 here on 1 March. Mathieu Mottier aboard this time and can run away with this
Summary: Winner of 2 consecutive Gr.2s, including Prix Camille Blaisot over 2175m, KYT KAT (8) was underwhelmingly one-paced in the Gr.1 Prix des Centaures in early-March but returns refreshed, refocused, reconfigured, and with a realistic chance of making amends. 50/1 3rd that day, KAPAULA DE L’EPINE (7) has since gone on to confirm and, barefoot this time, is back at a distance she appreciates. Runner-up in her last 2 over 2175m here, KELLY DE BANVILLE (6) is barefoot for comeback and will be no soft touch if Paul Ploquin keeps her trotting. Similarly unshod following her Maure-de-Bretagne return run, KASBAH PERRINE (4) is worth keeping an eye on.

- MAGGY JENILOU – Sanctioned on re-entry in 2175m Gr.3 Prix Aschera here 3 weeks ago and can expect to have few friends in the markets
- MAGIC NIGHT – Back under harness after being quickly sanctioned in a 2700m monte Class A here 2.5 weeks ago. Is not devoid of ability but has too much to find
- MIRISS DE GUEZ – 5th in a monte Gr.2 here before coming 3rd of 4 finishers in 2175m Gr.3 Prix Aschera here on 18 April. Undeniably capable but may find the going a bit too tough this time
- MARILOU – Made it 3 on the trot when facile winner of a Class A over course and distance a week ago. Takes a notable step up in category but on current trajectory looks eminently up to the task
- MARGAUX DES ARRIS – Tricky sort that faulted early in a Gr.1 over track and trip on 16 February. Has had time to recalibrate but others still easier to back
- MELODY COOL – Last of 4 finishers in 2175m Gr.3 Prix Aschera here on 18 April and has no chance of influencing the outcome
- MONICA JISCE – Sanctioned in last 4, most recently 18 April race of reference. Has already won a Gr.2 under these conditions but others still easier to trust
- MIDWAY LADY – Runner-up in last 5 starts, latterly to MADRID HAUFOR (11) in 2175m Gr.3 Prix Aschera here 3 weeks ago. Is not about to get off the mark but can again figure prominently
- MY PRINCESS – Failed to make it 4 on the trot when faulting in 2175m Gr.3 Prix Aschera here 3 weeks ago. Should not be too hastily-judged though and can be brought back into the fold
- MADRID HAUFOR – Pulled off the hat-trick when successful in 2175m Gr.3 Prix Aschera here 3 weeks ago. Has earned the right to race in this class and can finish close
- MORALITY – Surprise 2nd in Gr.2 Prix Roquépine before running 5th of 14 behind MILLE ETOILES (14) in a Gr.1 over track and trip on 16 February. Unseen since but will have been kept on the boil and represents a respectable first-5 chance
- MAGIC AMERICA – High-quality filly starting for first time since securing Gr.2 Prix Roquépine under these conditions on 25 January. Is sure to be race-ready and should prove main threat to MILLE ETOILES (14)
- MILLE ETOILES – Makes first appearance since running 2nd of 14 in a Gr.1 over track and trip on 16 February. Will have been specifically prepared for this and looks the one to beat
Summary: MILLE ETOILES (14) followed up 3 straight Vincennes victories with 2nd place to the classy Maitres Jacques in the Gr.1 Prix Comte Pierre de Montesson here mid-February, and even though unraced since, she still looks the horse to beat. JMB will nevertheless be heedful of the returning MAGIC AMERICA (13) who is plainly a filly for the future, and MADRID HAUFOR (11) who has gone from strength to strength this term. Less experienced but no less talented, MARILOU (5) returns just a week after trouncing a decent field here and has buckets more potential.

- LIBERTY JOSSELYN – Lost her action in a 2700m Class B here on 23 February. Comes here fresh, nicely-positioned in front, and on good behaviour can play a prominent part
- LADY DU CHENE – Has not been seen out since faulting in a Class C over track and trip on 1 March. Races barefoot this time but others still easier to back
- LAREDO BAY – Stormed up in a 2200m Class D at Salon-de-Provence on 26 March. Enjoys a good spot behind the car and will be expected to contest the finish once more
- LITTLE CROWN – Makes first appearance since being sanctioned in a 2700m Class B here in early-December. Barefoot for re-entry and should have the wherewithal to make first 5
- LETTY DE BEYLEV – Quickly sanctioned in a 2150m Enghien Class D 3 weeks ago. Has already won for Yoann Lebourgeois and can play a part if she manages to stay in stride
- LEMONADE FIZZ – 4th of 15, at 100/1, in a 2150m Enghien Class D on 17 April. Will be fully-fit by now and, despite the wide draw, can finish close
- LADY POP – Looked a different horse when victorious over course and distance early last month. Comes here fresh and even in the absence of Eric Raffin can repeat
- LINOTTE DU MOUCHEL – Ran 3rd to LADY POP (9) under these conditions before running 5th of 15, a place behind LEMONADE FIZZ (8), in a 2150m Enghien Class D on 17 April. Alexandre Abrivard in the wagon this time but still not a concern
- LILY DE L’AUNAY – Last of 8 finishers in a 2700m Class D here 10 days ago and has no possible chance
- LADY BIRD JENILAT – Surprise 4th of 8 finishers in a 2700m Class D here 10 days ago but a repeat seems most unlikely
Summary: Course-and-distance winner last month, at the first time of asking, LADY POP (9) has not been favourably-drawn on this occasion either but goes barefoot again and can confirm. Franck Nivard will still be mindful of the better-placed LAREDO BAY (5) who has done nothing but improve this term, and the talented LAVASINA (1) who has been reconfigured in her bid at redemption. LEMONADE FIZZ (8) left a very good impression across town 3 weeks ago and with shoes off this time is not to be underestimated.

Summary: MARQUISE GRIFF (8) impressed with a course-and-distance debut victory last month. Her time was strong, and she looks the one to side with. MILADY OF PARIS (9) won on the same day as her rival, though in a slower time. She remains unbeaten and could pose a serious threat. CLASH OF CURRENTS (5) has an impressive record at this course and that will certainly enhance the chances of this gelding. Summary: OUREA (4) is at her best over the distance of this race and that makes her the runner they will all have to beat. It is probably better to ignore the last run of CANNOLO (2) in which he finished 6th because he is a lot better than that.
