Aidan O’Brien saddles two runners in Lingfield Derby Trial and one of the three declared for Oaks Trial

Aidan O’Brien will look to strengthen his Classic hopes when fielding two runners in the William Hill Lingfield Derby Trial Stakes (3.00) today.
The ten-time Derby-winning trainer will send Leopardstown debut winner Stay True to the Surrey track as well as Puppet Master, who was fourth to stablemate Delacroix in the Ballysax Stakes last time.
O’Brien has Derby favourite The Lion In Winter and Twain among his leading contenders at Epsom in four weeks and Stay True is a 40-1 chance, and the shortest-priced runner on Saturday in the ante-post betting.
He is not entered in the Derby so would need to be supplemented.
Godolphin won the 2,000 and 1,000 Guineas last weekend but will not win the Lingfield Derby Trial, with Devil’s Advocate among those not declared on Thursday morning.
Roger Varian won this with Third Realm in 2021, beating a field including the subsequent Derby winner Adayar and top stayer Kyprios, and this season he saddles Rahiebb.
The Frankel colt won a Newcastle novice before finishing second on his next two starts and Silvestre de Sousa rides.
Prince Of The Seas represents Arc-winning trainer Ralph Beckett, while Nightime Dancer, Our ‘enery and Rogue Impact complete the line-up.
Just three runners will contest the William Hill Oaks Trial Fillies’ Stakes (1.15), including the O’Brien-trained Giselle.
She is 20-1 for the Oaks and makes her first start of the season against Harpsichord and Love Talk.
