JUMBY BAY (13) is not easy to trust but is capable of winning a race like this. JILIKA DU MESLE (11) ran well at Vincennes in her penultimate start and has a winning chance. JESSY DE DAUX (10) has struggled of late but showed better form earlier this year and could win if recapturing that level.

- JUEN EMONDEVILLE – Has disqualification issues and was disqualified at Vincennes on 29 April. Returns from a break and could need this run
Summary: JOYAU DU RIB (12) fluffed his lines last time out at Écommoy but was a good winner of his two previous starts and can bounce back to take this lucky last race. JEKILL ROCQ (11) is clearly better than his recent run at Laval and can get involved in the finish. C1 – PRIX DE LA GARE DU NORD – 2875m (a2m) – Class G Amateur Drivers Race – Harness – EUR € 12,000
- JULLIAN DADDY – Disappointing of late, most recently last of 13 in a 2875m Arras amateurs Class F 2.5 weeks ago, and will struggle to make his mark
- JUST LIKE A DREAM – Won 2 of last 3, latterly a 2700m amateurs Class G at Le Croise-Laroche a month back. Has taken well to the category and on good behaviour should logically finish in the mix
- IT’S DU QUENNE – Ran good 3rd at Laon but disappointing 7th of 12 finishers in a 2625m amateurs Class G at Le Touquet last week. Returns to racing barefoot, is confirmed here, and must be respected
- I AM HAPPY – Sanctioned, on return to competition, in a 2700m amateurs Class G at Le Croise-Laroche on 16 June and appears to have no realistic chance
- ICALINE DIESCHOOT – Drops in category after running 6th of 16 in a 2700m Cluny Class F on 6 July. Has never excelled in the amateur category and is not about to start now
- ITEM BUISSONAY – Last but one in a 2750m Class F at La Capelle earlier this month. Out of the picture in last 4 starts and must pull his socks up
- IDOLE DU MONCEL – Ran 3rd of 11 in a 1800m amateurs Class G at La Capelle 11 days ago only to lose it in the stewards’ room. Enjoys a terrific entry on the front line though, sports a new configuration, and must be retained
- JAZZ MELODY – Returns to the harness code after being quickly sanctioned in a 2750m Cabourg harness ridden Class F last week. Is very much at home in this division though and with application will not be far off the mark
- HORACE DU VIVIER – Imposed over track and trip last month before being sanctioned in an amateurs Class G under similar conditions last week. Is clearly in form though and will be dangerous if he gets off on the right foot
- IVA ROYALE – Finished in the money a week ago in a 2900m Amiens Class F only to be subsequently disqualified. Is plainly in excellent shape though and with stride in check should be good enough to contest the finish
- JEREZ – Winner on re-entry last month of a 3175m Abbeville Class H. Is sure to have progressed for the race and will take all the beating
Summary: Winner on his comeback in mid-June following a 10 months’ absence, JEREZ (11) takes his first steps in the amateur category and should be able to wrap this up. Alain Unterreiner would nonetheless be wise to be wary of IVA ROYALE (10) who was most unlucky at Amiens, and a barefoot JAZZ MELODY (8) who returns top her division of preference. Course-and-distance winner 3 weeks ago, HORACE DU VIVIER (9) will be no easy touch if he stays in stride.

C2 – PRIX DES HALLES – 2875m (a2m) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 40,000 - MAFIA DU BAS BOSQ – Last but one in a claimer over course and distance 3 weeks ago and has no realistic chance in this company
- MARIE DI LEONE – Useful filly returning to racing left-handed after coming 6th of 14 in a 2050m Cabourg Class E last week and picking up a minor place cheque is well within her capacity
- MISS DE LA FERME –
- MAFALDA – Made up for Laval sanction when 2nd of 15 in a 2800m Vire Class E 3 weeks ago. Should take well to the even Enghien surface and will be expected to give MACUMBA DU VIVIER (9) something to think about
- MAUNY DE PLAY – Raced better in a 2850m Vincennes Class D a month ago than her 6th of 10 would suggest. Is clearly on the way up and in with a decent shout of finishing in the frame this time
- MUSE D’EURVAD – 2nd of 11 in a 2650m Saint-Galmier Class D 2.5 weeks ago. Has shown very good aptitude so far and will generate interest
- MILANTERA – Put 4 sanctions behind her to comfortably win a 2700m Class E at La Capelle 3.5 weeks ago. Franck Ouvrie back in the bike and can again figure prominently
- MACUMBA DU VIVIER – Made it 2 for 2 when making short work of a 2625m Cherbourg Class E mid-June. Should appreciate the new profile and will be expected to leave Paris undefeated
Summary: Easy winner on debut in early-June, MACUMBA DU VIVIER (9) went on to dominate at Cherbourg a fortnight later, and Yoann Lebourgeois will justifiably have his sights set on the 3-timer. Somewhat trickier, but certainly not without merit, MAFALDA (5) will be dangerous if she stays in stride. MAUNY DE PLAY (6) should not be condemned for her last performance across town and can be backed with confidence. Delicate she may be but MILANTERA (8) has won 3 of the 4 races she has finished and her latest run bodes well for her chances.

- MAXIMUS DU FAOUET – Showed improvement when 2nd of 13 in a 2825m Sable-sur-Sarthe Class F 2.5 weeks ago but has a lot more to find this time around
- MORPHEUS DU LOISIR – Starts for first time since running 2nd of 13 in a 2850m Laval Class F in late-April. Has bags of untapped potential however and is not about to disappoint
- MALDRIC D’ECHAL – Imposed in Jallais on 13 June before running 2nd of 9 in a 2850m Laval Class E a fortnight later. Takes a notable step up in category but should nevertheless hold his own
- MANGA DES RACQUES – Unexceptional 5th of 6 in a 2150m Class D here on 28 June. Has evident ability but would be preferred a level down
- MUST DE VILLARD – Made up for Nort-sur-Erdre performance when 2nd of 8 in a 2600m Class E at La Roche-Posay mid-June but at this level represents no more than a minor place chance
- MYLOVE DE BANVILLE – Opened his account when winning a 2625m Cherbourg Class E unopposed in mid-June. Yoann Lebourgeois in the bike this time and steps up in category with a good hand to play
- MOURILLON – Made it 2 for 2 when dominating a 2800m Chartres Class E 2.5 weeks ago. In better company this time but still looks the horse to beat
Summary: Comfortable winner on turf first time out, MOURILLON (8) went on to confirm, in no uncertain terms, late last month and Mathieu Mottier can be confident of another big run. He will still be keeping an eye on Clement Thomain’s pair of MYLOVE DE BANVILLE (7) who left a good impression when victorious at Cherbourg, and the nicely-related MYTHE D’ERABLE (1) who just recently lost his maiden tag. Runner-up in both starts to date, MORPHEUS DU LOISIR (3) returns after a spell and can get straight back in the game.

- GLOSSY BOY – Returns to a category he appreciates after finishing last of 12 in a 2525m Class E at Les Andelys mid-June. Is well-placed on the front line and looks capable of making a big impact
- GET UP DES PLAINES – Sanctioned in a 2875m monte Class D here a fortnight ago. Not at his sharpest over recent months but the drop in category may be just what the doctor ordered
- ESPOIR FLYMP – Drops back down the category-ladder after being sanctioned in a 2975m Jallais Class E mid-June. Enjoys a good spot behind the car and debuts at Enghien with a decent chance of getting a look in
- GALLAGHER WIND – 7th of 15 to HENRY DE TROUVILLE (15) in a 2875m claimer here 3 weeks ago but is better under the saddle and others preferred
- HOBAMA – Debuts in the claiming division after finishing 12th of 13 in a 2800m Vichy Class D on 1 July. Starts on front line and at this level is unlikely to be far from the action
- GUEPARD DE TILLARD – 8th of 13 in a 2800m Vichy Class D early this month. Has been off the boil for some time but returns to a track he likes and should not be written off
- GAMIN NORMAND – Finished last of 15 to HENRY DE TROUVILLE (15) in a 2875m claimer here 3 weeks ago. Starts wide on front line and is unlikely to spring any surprises
- IDEAL DU MAXFRAN – Complicated type that was sanctioned in a 2900m Arras Class E 2.5 weeks ago. Barefoot this time but still not a concern
- GOLD DE BERG – Sanctioned in a 2625m Cherbourg Class E mid-June. Has done nothing noteworthy all year and is not about to change his ways
- IDEAL RANAIS – Starts for first time since finishing last but one in a 2825m Chartres Class E in late-April. Has not pulled a great number but considering his quality, and the stable’s form, is easy to like for the win
- IPSO DU FER – 6th of 9 in a claimer over course and distance late last month. Missed the start that day but is no slouch when focused and must be afforded respect
- GOWEN CHALEONNAIS – Returns to the capital after finishing 7th of 11 in a 1800m Class E at La Capelle last week. Is confirmed at this level, appreciates Enghien, but the draw will do nothing to help his chances
- HEAGLE ONE – 5th of 6 finishers in a 2875m amateurs Class F here on 26 June. Has no claiming references and chances limited
- HENRY DE TROUVILLE – Sprang quite the surprise 3 weeks ago when winning a 2875m claimer here. Has been handed a shocking draw but with form maintained will have his chances
- GREAT D’ARRY – 5th to HENRY DE TROUVILLE (15) here 3 weeks back before being disqualified in a 3025m Montier-en-Der Class E 11 days ago. Is clearly in decent shape however, and even though handed a tough draw should still hold his own
Summary: A quality individual with form at a superior level, IDEAL RANAIS (11) will be shod to preference for his first start back and, despite the draw, has the wherewithal to win a race of this nature. He will still be opposed by the better-placed GLOSSY BOY (2) who has yet to disappoint at this level, and the less favourably drawn HENRY DE TROUVILLE (15) who won a claimer over longer here late last month. HOBAMA (6) is new to claimers but can play an active role in this class of contest.

- MON LOUP – Sanctioned in both starts to date, latterly a 2600m harness Class G at Châlons-en-Champagne on 22 June, and debuts under the saddle with limited aspiration
- MISTER RUNNER – 6th of 7 finishers in a 2200m Vincennes Class D on 24 June. Has yet to show any particular aptitude and others preferred
- MOJITO DE BANVILLE – Tricky colt that was sanctioned in a 2200m Caen harness Class D on 23 June. Changes direction and track, and with Adrien Lamy aboard can get straight down to business
- MIDNIGHT DE CUY – Distant last of 4 finishers in a 2875m Class B here on 28 June and will again struggle to make his presence felt
- MUST D’HERMES – 5th of 9 finishers in a 2700m Vincennes Class B a month ago but still has more to find
- MAGYC BERRY – Sanctioned in a 2875m Class B here late last month. Not easy to handle and in this company is unlikely to create an upset
- MY AMERICA – Won on monte debut on 20 May before faulting in a 2875m Class B here on 28 June. Alexandre Abrivard in the saddle this time and can figure prominently if he keeps her trotting
- MISTRAL D’AUVRECY – Last but one in a 2750m Cabourg harness Class C conditioner last week. Won over course and distance in March and if fully fit can give this a good go
- MUNHOA VEDAQUAISE – Made amends for May sanction when flying up in a 2850m Vincennes Class C on 6 June. Has had ample time to freshen up and with application can confirm
- MELCHIOR JAMES – Switches code for first time after running 5th of 7 in a 2875m harness Class B here mid-June and will not be far from the action if form transitions
- MAGGY JENILOU – Never at her ease when 7th of 8 in a 2700m Vincennes Gr.3 in late-May. Debuts for new trainer and will have a lot to contribute if she stays in stride
- MYRTILLE MARBOULA – Back under the saddle after winning a 2100m Vincennes harness claimer on 10 June. Is confirmed under the saddle but appears to be taking on too much
- MY BLACK CADENCE – Makes Enghien debut after finishing 4th of 5 in a 2175m Class A at Vincennes on 10 June. Drops to a more reasonable level but still represents a minor place prospect at best
- MILOR DE LA VALLEE – Made it 2 on the trot when clinching victory in a 2850m Vincennes Class C on 3 June. Takes on some better horses this time but can still figure prominently
Summary: MUNHOA VEDAQUAISE (10) is never far from faulting but she was all class across town last month and can double her money if she keeps trotting. MAGGY JENILOU (12) is also a tricky character but she debuts for the Mathieu Mottier yard and on good behaviour can play a leading role. MELCHIOR JAMES (11) has shown considerable ability under harness and makes his ridden bow with every chance of finishing in the frame. Nicely engaged here, and winner of his last 2, MILOR DE LA VALLEE (15) comes here on a hat-trick and while unlikely to pull it off, she should nevertheless figure prominently.

- LUTIN GEDE – Back to racing left-handed after winning a 2950m Vichy Class E a month back. Reverts to a previous configuration and is unlikely to return home empty-handed
- LUCIANO VREDEBEST – 4th of 9 in 2100m 4yo Criterium at Wolvega last Saturday. Was sanctioned here a week earlier but will have a lot to contribute if Mathieu Mottier keeps him focused
- LE MIRACLE – Won 2 going right-handed before running 3rd of 10 in a 2150m Class D here 12 days ago. Boasts excellent credentials with the day’s driver and can bring the fight to LEMON FLEURY (10)
- LE GENTLEMAN – Has not been seen out since producing career-best result when victorious in a Class D over track and trip in early-March. Is in competition-mode though and should not be underestimated
- LORIGRE – In the frame in last 2, most recently 3rd of 11 in a 2175m Vincennes Class C early last month. Unlikely to win this but is easy to like for a first-5 cheque
- LITTERAIRE – No slouch on a good day but finished last but one in a 2850m Vincennes Class C on 27 June, and with front pads fitted is unlikely to shake things up
- LOVER JULMA –
- LEMON FLEURY – Sanctioned on re-entry in a Class C over course and distance on 2 July. Will be shod to preference for first objective of the summer and with application can impose
Summary: Winner of 4 of the 8 races he has finished, all of them with Yoann Lebourgeois, LEMON FLEURY (10) will be competitively-shod following his sanctioned re-entry here recently and with application should have the measure of the ever-ready LE MIRACLE (5) who left a good impression here earlier in the month. Sanctioned that day before reassuring in Victoria Park, LUCIANO VREDEBEST (3) goes barefoot, is reunited with Mathieu Mottier, and will be no pushover. LE BIEF (1) makes his Enghien bow on a hat-trick and even though unlikely to pull it off, should nevertheless give another competitive account.

- KEN ZAO DE NAPPES – Somewhat uneasy when sanctioned in a 2600m Class D at Le Mont-Saint-Michel late last month. Mathieu Mottier stays faithful though and must not be ruled out
- KHEOPS BOURBON – 11th of 12 behind KILIMANDJARO PLAYA (7) in a 2850m Vincennes Class D on 20 June. Has been out of sorts for a number of months and can be ignored
- KARMA TEJY – 6th of 12 behind KILIMANDJARO PLAYA (7) in a 2850m Vincennes Class D on 20 June. Should prove more competitive this time and can challenge for a place on the podium
- KARAMBA KARACHO – Ran 2nd at Mauquenchy before losing his action in a 2800m Strasbourg Class E mid-June. Sanctioned in only Enghien run but has merit and if applied should not be too far from the action
- KOOL DU CHATELET – Has done nothing but improve lately, most recently 2nd of 10 in a 2150m Class E here 3 weeks ago. Takes on a better lot this time though and others preferred
- KILIMANDJARO PLAYA – Reassuring 4th of 12 in a 2850m Vincennes Class D on 20 June. Is better than the result would suggest and should not be too hastily condemned. Place prospect
- KABOTIN CHENEVIERE – Below-par in last 3, latterly 10th of 15 in a 2750m Cabourg Class E last week. Front shoes off this time but still not a priority
- KONG D’HOLLOW – Fine servant returning to the harness code after being sanctioned in a 2700m Vincennes monte Class D just over 3 weeks ago. Sanctioned on lone Enghien start but can finish close if Alain Laurent keeps him focused
- KENDO JIEL – Well-beaten in last 2, latterly 9th of 14 in a 2750m Class E at La Capelle last week. Solid in 2 of 3 here but recent numbers do little to inspire confidence
- KAVALO BELLO – 3rd of 16 in a 2600m Class D at Le Mont-Saint-Michel 2.5 weeks ago. Has hardly put a foot out of line this year and is not about to start now. Place chance
- KING FROMENTRO – Good, consistent sort that ran 7th of 16 in a 2850m Laval Class D 3 weeks ago, on his first start since the spell. Front pads fitted this time and can play a leading role
- KRACK DESBOIS – Did not miss out by much in a 3000m Chateaubriant Class E 10 days ago. Could have won had he not hesitated in the straight that day but Benjamin Rochard will be determined to set the record straight. Claim
Summary: Wonderfully-entered close to the earnings threshold, KRACK DESBOIS (13) showed his form at Chateaubriant recently and, comfortable at Enghien, can finally open his metropolitan account. He will still feel some heat from KING FROMENTRO (12) who will be shod to preference following a convincing re-entry run at Laval, and KAVALO BELLO (11) who has been thriving in the provinces. The useful KARMA TEJY (4) races barefoot for the first time and with Paul Ploquin reining is unlikely to disappoint.

- ISBA DU VIVIER – 2nd of 8 in a 2700m Vincennes Class D 3 weeks ago. Exceptional under the saddle this year and is competitively well in. First 5
- HEMILIO PIERJI – Last of 14 in a 2800m Bernay harness Class F last Sunday. Looked very ordinary on last month’s monte debut and can be passed over
- ICARE WILLIAMS – Reassured at Vichy last month before being quickly sanctioned in a Class D under these conditions a fortnight ago. Returns to racing shod and cannot be considered a priority
- JOY FOR US – Drops marginally in category after running 4th of 11 in a 2700m Vincennes Class D early last month. Boasts excellent references with Alexander Abrivard and should prove competitive for the win
- JOKER DU HAMEL – 3rd of 13 finishers in a 2450m Caen Class D a month back. Is plainly close to his best and although shod for the occasion, can still finish in the mix
- HERCULE DES SABLES – Returned to the winners’ circle 11 days ago when securing a 2850m Carentan Class E. Takes on a tougher bunch this time though and others easier to back
- JESTA BUISSONAY – Runner-up in last 2, latterly a 2700m Cagnes harness Class E last week. Has won 2 of 3 under the saddle and must be considered a contender
- FASCINANT – Well-beaten 5th of 6 finishers in a Class D over course and distance 3 weeks ago and once again looks to be out of his depth
Summary: After a period of 2.5 years without success, JUBLA VIKING (1) won two within the space of a fortnight last month, latterly here, and the hat-trick looks a distinct possibility. She is still going to have to take on the tough JOY FOR US (7) who imposed under these conditions in April, and JESTA BUISSONAY (10) who deserves to be rewarded one of these days. JADE DE CASTELLE (2) has turned a corner lately and Mathieu Mottier will be eager to confirm their Chartres victory.
