C1 – SUMBE PRIX KERGORLAY – 3000m (a2m) – TURF – Gr2 Race – Flat – EUR € 164,600

  1. GOYA SENORA – Won over 3000m at Dieppe in Class 2 Conditional on 31 July. He takes on stronger and may find this difficult
  2. COLUMBUS – Finished behind Double Major when fourth in a Group 3 over 2800m at Parislongchamp on 13 July. He may have to settle for the same result
  3. SEVENNA’S KNIGHT – Four good runs this year. Finished third over 2500m on this course in a Group 3 on 9 August. Alexis Pouchin knows him well and he may be rewarded for consistency
  4. PRESAGE NOCTURNE – Comes off a good third-place finish in the Group 1 Prix Vicomtesse Vigier over 3100m at Parislongchamp on 25 May. Merits healthy respect
  5. DOUBLE MAJOR – Dual G.1 winner who finished third in a Group 3 over 2800m at Parislongchamp on 13 July. Title holder and should be involved
    Summary: SEVENNA’S KNIGHT (3) has produced good form this year. He comes off a good third-place finish in the Group 3 Prix De Reux. Alexis Pouchin rides and may be rewarded for consistency. DOUBLE MAJOR (5) finished third in a Group 3 at Parislongchamp last time. He won this race last year and should be competitive. PRESAGE NOCTURNE (4) ran a good race when third in the Group 1 Prix Vicomtesse Vigier on 25 May. He should hold his own in this contest. COLUMBUS (2) finished behind Double Major last time and may have to settle for the same result.

  8. FITZELLA – Won a good race in a Group 3 over 1200m at Ascot on 26 July. Oisin Murphy makes the trip to ride her, and she can follow up with another victory

  10. POLLY SHELBY – Finished second in a Conditional Listed over 1400m at Vichy on 16 July. She is a filly with scope and cannot be discounted
  11. ARKANSAS – Won on debut over 1400m at Chantilly in Unraced Conditional on 20 July. She takes a big step up in class but could be anything. Christophe Soumillon is booked to ride
  12. CERAMIC – Finished behind My Highness when second over 1500m on this course in Class 2 Conditional on 5 August. She may find it difficult to win this contest
    Summary: FITZELLA (3) hails from the visiting Hugo Palmer stable. She has good form lines to her credit and comes off a victory in a Group 3 at Ascot. Oisin Murphy does duty once again and she may be the horse to beat. MY HIGHNESS (4) is a progressive individual and has won her last two starts. This is a stronger field, but she should be up to the task at hand. ARKANSAS (6) won on debut and takes on stronger. She could be anything and can give a good account of herself. NANDITA (2) is better than her last two starts and with William Buick in the saddle, she can show.

  17. PRIDE OF AMERICA – Finished unplaced over 1600m at Compiegne in Class 2 Handicap on 24 July. Needs to find form of penultimate run
  18. SAVANNENSTERN – Is a horse with plenty of scope. Finished fifth in a Class 3 Conditional over 2200m at Clairefontaine on 8 August. Cristian Demuro retains the ride, and he should fight out the finish
  19. CLEOD’OR – Won over 1800m at Aix Les Bains in Class 2 Conditional on 13 July. It is a competitive field, and he is capable of finishing in the placings
  20. MY FANCY – Won a good race over 1900m on this track in Class 3 Claimer on 12 August. He returns to handicaps at the right time and can continue with his winning momentum
  21. STANGHELI – Showed good signs of a form return when third over 1900m on this track in Class 2 Handicap on 5 August. He can feature if confirming that effort
  22. COLGAN SENORA – Finished fourth over 1900m on this track in Class 2 Handicap on 5 August. With a bit of luck in running, he should be competitive
  23. DARI RIVER – Finished seventh over 2000m at Vichy in Class 3 Handicap on 7 August. Will need to put best foot forward to be competitive here
  24. TRUE TEDESCO – Finished fourth over 1800m at Clairefontaine in Class 2 Handicap on 2 August. He is an inconsistent type and can feature on best form shown
  25. HAVOC – Is better than last two starts. Finished unplaced over 1900m on this course in Class 2 Handicap on 5 August. He carries a handy galloping weight and can upset under Eddy Hardouin
    Summary: MY FANCY (8) returned to winning ways in a Class 3 Claimer on this course last time. He returns to a handicap and could continue his winning momentum. SAVANNENSTERN (6) comes off an encouraging outing at Clairefontaine. He is a horse with plenty of scope and is one of the leading contenders. COLGAN SENORA (10) was not disgraced when fourth over this course and distance on 5 August. With a bit of luck from the wide barrier position, he should be involved at the finish. STANGHELI (9) comes out of the same form line as COLGAN SENORA (10) and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.

  27. COPPULL – Comes off a good victory in the Group 2 Markel Richmond Stakes over 1200m at Glorious Goodwood on 31 July. He finished third behind Gstaad in his penultimate run
  28. GSTAAD – Is unbeaten from two starts and hails from the top yard of Aidan O’Brien. He was super-impressive when winning the Group 2 Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot over 1200m on 17 June. He should keep his record intact
  29. WISE APPROACH – Returned to winning ways in a Listed race over 1200m at Newbury on 18 July. He finished second in a Group 2 over 1000m at Royal Ascot in his penultimate run. William Buick knows him well and the combination merit respect
  30. IMPERIAL ME CEN – Finished fourth in a Group 2 over 1200m at Chantilly on 20 July. He may find it difficult to win a race of this nature
  31. VENETIAN SUN – Is unbeaten from three starts and takes on the males. She won a Group 2 over 1200m at Newmarket on 11 July. She looks to have class about her and with her sex allowance, she cannot be discounted
    Summary: GSTAAD (3) comes off a super-impressive victory in the Group 2 Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot. The son of Starspangledbanner looks to have plenty of class and he should keep his unbeaten record intact. VENETIAN SUN (6) is a filly taking on the males and she gets her sex allowance. She comes off a good victory in a Group 2 at Newmarket. She will be looking to remain unbeaten in what is a competitive field. WISE APPROACH (4) returned to winning ways in fine style at Newbury on 18 July. William Buick rides and the combination cannot be discounted. COPPULL (2) won the Group 2 Markel Richmond Stakes at Glorious Goodwood. He finished behind Gstaad in his penultimate outing and should run an honest race.

SYDNEY SUNSET (4) is a progressive type who is holding his own. Stephane Pasquier rides and he is one of the leading contenders. VICTOR VITAE (3) is better than his disappointing last outing and can feature on best form shown. GARIGA (2) won a good race over 1600m at Saint-Malo last time. She should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

  48. START OF DAY – Was far from disgraced when third in the Group 1 Prix Rothschild over 1600m on this course on 3 August. She has won a Listed race over this distance previously and may give a good account of herself
  49. CANKOURA – Comes off a victory in a Group 3 over 2000m on this course on 3 August. She finished behind Bedtime Story when third in the Group 1 Prix De Diane in her penultimate outing
  50. BEDTIME STORY – Is better than her last start when fourth in the Group 1 Qatar Nassau Stakes over 2000m at Glorious Goodwood on 31 July. Her penultimate run when second in the Group 1 Prix De Diane catches the eye. She is a threat
    Summary: CINDERELLA’S DREAM (2) comes off a hard-fought victory in the Group 1 Tattersalls Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket. January has come out and finished a creditable second since. William Buick does duty, and she should take a power of beating. BEDTIME STORY (8) should pose the biggest threat if finding the form of her penultimate run when second in the Group 1 Prix De Diane. Third in the Diane last June behind BEDTIME STORY (8), CANKOURA (7) won a good race in a Group 3 on this course last time and is expected to be a warm player. QUISISANA (3) is unbeaten from two starts this year and should run another honest race.

    Summary: A small field but a competitive race. MERRY CHRISTMAS (7) is on the upgrade and was a good winner at Villereal earlier this month. He can follow up. MOOREA DE SAUSSEAU (8) has won her last two starts and must be respected. MADGIK SAUTREUIL (2) is improving and has scored in two of his last three starts, so another win would not be a surprise. MITSY DU NOYER (1) has yet to get off the mark but is consistent and cannot be ruled out.

    Summary: ASAALAH (7) ran with plenty of promise when she was third at Dax in late July over 2100m. The slight drop in trip today should not be a concern, and she can get the better of KAOWKAB (8), who can make progress from a pleasing debut when fourth in mid-July at this venue over 1600m. The step up in trip this time can bring out more progress. HAMAT AL EZZ (3) looks like a sensible option each way. AL KASARAA (9) has a nice profile and is worth considering on debut.
