Godolphin has confirmed Tempted will fly the royal blue flag in next week’s $20 million The Everest at Randwick, with champion jockey Craig Williams booked to ride.
The Ciaron Maher-trained filly edged out stablemate and Golden Rose winner Beiwacht for the coveted slot, securing her place in the world’s richest turf race.
Williams, who will carry just 51kg, gets the chance to chase a third Everest triumph after victories aboard Giga Kick in 2022 and Bella Nipotina last year.
The lightweight star’s booking gives him the opportunity to defend his crown and potentially equal the record for most Everest wins. Tempted, a dual Group 2 winner, is rated a $17 chance.
She impressed with a strong victory in the Group 2 Run To The Rose before finishing third behind Beiwacht in the Golden Rose at Rosehill Gardens.
