French Selections Saturday 29th

R1 VINCENNES [L-H]

C1 – PRIX DE MOLAY – 2100m (a1m1/4) – – Harness – EUR € 46,000

  1. EVANDRO DEGLI DEI – Honest sort that consistently gives his best but has not been seen out since February and is going to need the race
  2. FAST FURIOUS COL – Ran 3rd in a Class E over course and distance in mid-May but has categorically failed to confirm and can be ruled out
  3. EMIRRE – Useful nordic type making French debut with Eric Raffin reining. Enjoys a good draw, will be barefoot, and must be taken seriously
  4. EXPLOIT KRONOS – Stormed up in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class E 3.5 weeks ago. Benefits from a good draw and has never disappointed with Benjamin Rochard. Claim
  5. KAROLUS FAIR – Victorious in a Class F Apprentices’ race at Pornichet over 2,725m on 6 August 2026. Has hardly put a foot wrong over recent months and the draw will do her chances no disservice
  6. FRENCHCONNECTION – Sprang a 14-1 surprise when securing a Class E at Enghien over 2,150m on 2 August 2026. Sports the same configuration and can repeat
  7. LONDON RECALL – Ran 7th in a Class D at Cagnes-sur-Mer over 2,150m on 25 July 2026, having come 2nd under similar conditions just 12 days earlier. Is unlikely to take Vincennes by storm but is unlikely to let the side down either
  8. KLAUS VON HERTEN – Serious sort that has taken well to French conditions, lastly running second in an Argentan Class E 3 weeks ago. Is forced to break wide but in present form cannot be ignored
  9. ESPADA (ITY) – Failed to make the grade in the Super Trot Cup in Berlin mid-month. Has otherwise been in good shape but is still being aimed too high
  10. NIGEL DI QUATTRO – Gave a reassuringly good account when 2nd in a Cagnes Class F on 17 August but others still easier to trust
  11. ELFO BREED – Hardy Italian raider making French bow after winning 5 straight at home, but at this level will have his work cut out
Summary: Given the style of his victory at Saint-Malo, EXPLOIT KRONOS (4) should attract plenty of support, but Benjamin Rochard will have to keep an eye on FRENCHCONNECTION (6), who has just fully reassured, and a barefoot EMIRRE (3), who merits close attention on his French debut. KLAUS VON HERTEN (8) looks close to his race and will also be competitive if Matthieu Abrivard positions him early.
    SELECTIONS
    EXPLOIT KRONOS (4) – FRENCHCONNECTION (6) – EMIRRE (3) – KLAUS VON HERTEN (8)
    C2 – PRIX RMC (PRIX DE MORET-SUR-LOING) – 2100m (a1m1/4) – – Harness – EUR € 46,000
  12. LISBETH DRY – Heavily-backed in 10 August race of reference only to lose her action. Displayed her form though, sports a fresh configuration and, if applied, can finish in the mix
  13. FREISA ROC – Produced 2 fine efforts under these conditions before enduring a difficult race at Enghien early last month. Comes here fresh and from the 2 slot can set the record straight. Claim
  14. LYLOU DES THUYAS – Finished 3rd in a Class D at La Capelle over 2,700m on 25 August 2026, 3 weeks after winning an Enghien Class E. Has pulled a good number and steps up in category with a decent hand to play
  15. XANTHIS IBIZA – Takes first steps south of Scandinavia after finishing unplaced over 1640m at Eskilstuna a fortnight ago. Alexandre Abrivard in the bike but others still easier to like
  16. L’ETOILE D’ETE – Finished 2nd in a Class D at Meslay-du-Maine over 2,875m on 15 August, 9 days after having imposed at Montignac. Benefits from a fine draw and with Benjamin Rochard reining can win this
  17. LYRE D’ERABLE – Runner-up in a Class D at Enghien over 2,150m on 10 August 2026. Is not always the most dependable but in current condition is easy to like for the win. Chance
  18. SHE’S A WINNER – Won her first 2 of the summer before coming 3rd in a 2150m Class E at Enghien on 2 August. Boasts a terrific win-rate and even though moving up in category can play a prominent part
  19. FOTOFINISH GIOVI – Has not been seen out since finishing unplaced in a Class D over course and distance in late-May. Is barefoot for the occasion but in this company will have too much to do
  20. FLORIS DAY BAR – As solid as a rock in both Vincennes starts this year. Is not ideally-placed here but will have been specifically prepared for this and should not be underestimated
  21. PEAK OF GLORY – Swedish mare making French bow after running 3rd over 2140m in Kalmar on 29 June. Has not been seen since and even though re-shod for the occasion will have little to offer
  22. FITNESS GRIF – Has acquitted herself well since returning from her layup, most recently fourth in a 2150m Enghien Class D on 10 August, however a repeat seems improbable
  23. FEDORA KEY COL – Pleasantly surprised late last month but failed to confirm on 2 August when 7th in race of reference and can be ruled out
  24. FEDE JET – Showed improvement when 5th in race of reference. Eric Raffin back in the bike but is still not a priority
Summary: FREISA ROC (2), from whom more was expected last time at Enghien, LYRE D’ERABLE (6), who finished strongly on 10 August, L’ETOILE D’ETE (5), in peak condition, and FLORIS DAY BAR (9), who was narrowly beaten by our selection on 13 May, all look capable of fighting out the finish.
    SELECTIONS
    FREISA ROC (2) – LYRE D’ERABLE (6) – L’ETOILE D’ETE (5) – FLORIS DAY BAR (9)
    C3 – PRIX ANNICK DREUX-CRITERIUM 3 ANS Q4 – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Gr2 – Harness – EUR € 130,000
  25. NALISMA – Fourth in a Group II at Enghien over 2,150m on 14 August 2026, her first sortie at this level. Is unlikely to spring any surprises but can nevertheless hold her own
  26. NIKITA – Finished 3rd in a Class B at Rochefort Sur Loire over 3,000m on 17 August 2026, her first start since the layup. Will have progressed for the race and, padded for the occasion, can get in on the action
  27. NYASSA DAXEL – Gave a fine account on Gr.2 debut when 3rd in Prix Reine du Corta a fortnight ago. Has earned her place in this line-up and has a reasonable chance of making the frame
  28. NOVA TIM – Ran 6th in a Group II at Enghien over 2,150m on 14 August 2026. Was by no means disgraced that day but is still not an obvious choice
  29. NIKITA DES CHARMES – Fourth in a Class B at Graignes over 2,700m on 8 August 2026. Is no slouch but has never delivered at this level and is unlikely to start now
  30. NORMA JEANE – Ran 7th in a Group II at Enghien over 2,150m on 14 August 2026. Has ability but appears to be out of sorts and others easier to back
  31. NOELA JOSSELYN – Tenacious second in a Group II at Enghien over 2,150m on 14 August 2026. Has imposed just the once but that was a Gr.3 over course and distance and is not to be overlooked
  32. NORMANDIE NIEMEN – Had to work hard to secure the Group II Prix Reine du Corta at Enghien over 2,150m on 14 August 2026. Has nothing to prove under these conditions and can bring the fight to NOCIVE DU CHOQUEL (9)
  33. NOCIVE DU CHOQUEL – Dual Gr.1 winner that was eliminated early on comeback in Gr.2 Prix Reine du Corta at Enghien on 14 August. Is a class above most here though and, with application, can impose
Summary: Leader of her generation, NOCIVE DU CHOQUEL (9) returns to Vincennes with François Lagadeuc determined to make amends for her recent misstep in the Gr.2 Prix Reine du Corta, but the talented, and fully-padded, NORMANDIE NIEMEN (8) is capable of making her work for it. The constantly improving NYASSA DAXEL (3) and the reliable NOELA JOSSELYN (7) recently finished close behind the Allaire filly and should give this a good go.
    SELECTIONS
    NOCIVE DU CHOQUEL (9) – NORMANDIE NIEMEN (8) – NYASSA DAXEL (3) – NOELA JOSSELYN (7)
    C4 – PRIX G. DE WAZIERES-CRITERIUM 4 ANS Q4 – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Gr2 – Harness – EUR € 120,000
  34. MY GIRL PIYA – Complicated filly that won a Laval Class C 10 days ago, but in this category will have too much to do
  35. MYSTIC DES FORGES – Fifth in a Group II at Enghien over 2,150m on 14 August 2026. Has stepped up in good order and although unlikely to win this, can still run into the money
  36. METIDJA – Finished 7th in a Group II at Enghien over 2,150m on 14 August 2026. Consistently gives her best but at this level looks a minor place prospect at best
  37. MY QUALITA PIYA – Finished 3rd in a Group II at Enghien over 2,150m on 14 August 2026 after having won a Class C there the previous month. A repeat seems unlikely but is still worth keeping an eye on
  38. MYSTERY QUEEN – Out of the picture in 2 since running 2nd in a Gr.2 over course and distance in June, most recently disqualified in race of reference, and others preferred
  39. MOLLY MADRIK – Finished 6th in a Group II at Enghien over 2,150m on 14 August 2026. Was found wanting in the latter stages that day, but is well-regarded and could pleasantly surprise
  40. MOSTRA DE BANVILLE – Gave a good account against the colts last month but was unable to confirm when disqualified in race of reference. Is plainly in shape though and, on good behaviour, can make a big splash
  41. MARINELLA VRIE – Missed out by the smallest of margins to MILA DES COUPERIES (9) in a Group II at Enghien over 2,150m on 14 August. Is plainly close to her race and can turn the tables
  42. MILA DES COUPERIES – Has been nothing short of superb this season, lastly clinching a Group II at Enghien over 2,150m on 14 August 2026 2 weeks ago. Is first-time barefoot and will be no pushover
  43. MY PRINCESS – Capable on a good day but eliminated in last 2 starts and would be preferred a level down
  44. MANITAS DE TRUCHON – Unplaced in a monte Group III at Enghien over 2,250m on 14 August 2026. Is here for a change of scenery and can be passed over
  45. MADRID HAUFOR – Has not been seen out since dominating a Group II over course and distance on 6 June 2026. Is clearly all-business though and must be considered a priority
  46. MAGIC NIGHT – Blew up, finishing 8th in a Group II at Enghien over 2,150m on 14 August 2026. Has so far failed to reproduce last winter’s form but will be reined by Benjamin Rochard this time, which may be just the ticket to her redemption
Summary: Even though it was contested under different conditions, the Prix Paul Leguerney can be considered the key race. Excellent second that day, when barefoot for the first time, MARINELLA VRIE (8) showed that she could make her mark at Gr.2 level. Reliable and proven here, she should finish close. MAGIC NIGHT (13) is the class act of the race. She has the strongest form, but her latest performance was a concern. Reconfigured, she has to be retained though, along with MADRID HAUFOR (12), who has recharged her batteries after two spring victories and returns in full race-mode. MOSTRA DE BANVILLE (7) was quickly out of contention after making a mistake on 14 August, but a repeat of her previous run against the males would see her play an active role at the finish. MILA DES COUPERIES (9), who won the key race after a perfectly-timed trip, is impossible to ignore, especially as she will be racing barefoot for the first time.

    C5 – PRIX GASTON BRUNET-CRITERIUM 4 ANS Q3 – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Gr2 – Harness – EUR € 120,000
  47. MARQUETY DE BAILLY – Has not been seen out since running 4th in a Class A at Enghien over 2,875m on 13 June 2026. Is patently in race-mode but others still easier to back
  48. MAHARAJA ATOUT – Finished 6th in a Group III at Enghien over 2,875m on 1 August 2026. Is undeniably useful but would have better prospects at a lower level
  49. MUST ATOUT – Ran 6th in a Group II at Enghien over 2,150m on 14 August 2026 and looks out of his depth once again
  50. MEMPHIS DE BRASSE – Finished 6th in a Class B at Lisieux over 2,725m on 17 August 2026 and in this field will have little to give
  51. MELLOW SPEED – Gave a good account at Enghien early this month when comfortably winning a 2875m Enghien Gr.3, his first attempt at Group level, and steps up in class with a good hand to play
  52. MISTRAL DU BOIS – Finished 11th in a Class B at Meslay-du-Maine over 2,850m on 28 July 2026, his first start for 2 months. Will be shod to preference this time and must not be underestimated
  53. MONZON NORMAND – Produced best performance of the year when fourth behind MENTOR DE PLAY (10) in Gr.2 Prix Phaeton at Enghien 2 weeks ago, but faces a stiffer test this time around
  54. MAGIC MAN – Third in a Group III at Enghien over 2,875m on 1 August 2026. Did win a Gr.2 under these conditions in June and will be competitive when push comes to shove
  55. MOUSTIK LA GOVELLE – Won a monte Group I over 2,850m here on 21 June 2026. Has not been seen since and will race shod, but is a classy campaigner and should be taken seriously
  56. MENTOR DE PLAY – Runner-up in last 2, most recently a Group II at Enghien over 2,150m on 14 August 2026. Presents superb references under these conditions and is eminently capable of imposing
  57. MAESTRO VRIE – Placed in a pair of Gr.3s before losing his action in Gr.2 Prix Phaeton at Enghien on 14 August. Was going well that day though and will be no soft touch if Mathieu Mottier keeps him focused and out of trouble
Summary: The wonderfully-consistent MENTOR DE PLAY (10) will attempt to maintain his unbeaten barefoot record, but the increasingly impressive, and re-shod MELLOW SPEED (5), MAGIC MAN (8), who beat him here on 6 June, and MAESTRO VRIE (11), provided he stays in stride, are all potential winners.

    C6 – PRIX JOCKEY-CRITERIUM 5 ANS Q2 – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Gr2 – Harness – EUR € 120,000
  58. LE GENTLEMAN – Oddly disqualified in a 2150m Enghien Class B earlier in the month. Tends to excel with Benjamin Rochard who will be keen to put things right
  59. LOUIS VITTON MIJO – Beat a host of these in a Gr.2 under these conditions in the spring. Has 2 runs under his belt, has won 4 Gr.2s and a Gr.1 at Vincennes, and is not about to disappoint
  60. LIZZANO D’ALOUETTE – Finished 2nd in a Class B at Enghien over 2,150m on 6 August 2026. Always acquits himself honourably but cannot be considered a player
  61. LORD DU BASSIN – Won a Class B at Enghien over 2,150m on 6 August 2026, his first start since early-May. Has nothing to prove over course and distance and can figure prominently if Alexandre Abrivard keeps him focused
  62. LEARN TO FLY – Produced quite the surprise when 2nd in a Group II at Enghien over 2,150m on 14 August 2026. A repeat, however, seems unlikely
  63. LISBONNE DRY – Disqualified in a monte Group I over 2,850m here on 21 June 2026. Is here for reasons of conditioning and will have nothing to offer
  64. L’AS DESBOIS – Serious trotter that was trounced on re-entry in a GNT Gr.3 at Saint-Malo on 5 August. Is competitively-shod this time can get a look in
  65. LANCIER DU GOUTIER – Quality element that was going well in an Enghien Class B earlier in the month before being disqualified. Has form over course and distance and steps up in category with a realistic chance of imposing
  66. LIONHEART – Finished 9th in a Group II at Enghien over 2,150m on 14 August 2026. Is preparing for a campaign under the saddle and can be passed over
  67. LIZA JOSSELYN – Ran 6th on comeback in a Group II at Enghien over 2,150m on 14 August 2026. Her class is not in question but will race shod this time and looks a minor place chance at best
  68. LOMBOK JIEL – Ran 7th in a Group II at Enghien over 2,150m on 14 August 2026 when being prepped for this. Is shod as he was when imposing under these conditions in April and looks main danger to LANCIER DU GOUTIER (8)
Summary: LANCIER DU GOUTIER (8), who has a point to prove after losing his action in the Gr.2 Prix Louis Jariel, and LOMBOK JIEL (11), barefoot following a pair of conditioners, can be preferred to the delicate but talented LOUIS VITTON MIJO (2), and LE GENTLEMAN (1) who possesses a good turn of foot.
    SELECTIONS

    C7 – PRIX J. DE VAULOGE-CRITERIUM 3 ANS Q3 – 2700m (a1m1/2) – Gr2 – Harness – EUR € 120,000
  69. NICOU CHAK – Takes quite the leap in category after winning a Class C at Divonne-les-Bains 9 days ago and is not a concern
  70. NORMAN PIERJI – Is better than his 4th place in a Gr.3 over course and distance last weekend would suggest. Is another improving Duvaldestin runner and should not be underestimated
  71. NALIANO D’ECHAL – Failed to secure the hat-trick when disqualified in a 2875m Enghien Class A late last month and in this company will have little to offer
  72. NOBEL DU RIB – Won a Class B at Enghien over 2,875m on 8 August 2026. Boasts a 50 percent win-rate, sports a new formula, and has earned the right to race at this level. Place chance
  73. NEMROD BUROIS – Serious colt that has placed twice at Gr.3 level this summer, including over course and distance. Held his own at Pornichet recently and can again get in on the action
  74. NET MONEY – Third in a Group II at Enghien over 2,150m on 14 August 2026, his best performance of the season. Matthieu Abrivard keeps the drive and will not be sent out at 57-1 this time
  75. NUEVO – Made it 5 for 5 when securing a Group II at Enghien over 2,150m on 14 August 2026, first of the Criterium des 3 Ans qualifiers. Looks a notch above the rest and can confirm
  76. NOVECENTO – Finished 4th in a Group II at Enghien over 2,150m on 14 August 2026. A repeat seems unlikely but should nevertheless give an honourable account
  77. NELSON EMGE – Third in a Group III at Enghien over 1,609m on 18 July 2026. Comes here fresh, after having set his personal best that day and, although not a priority, is still worth monitoring
  78. NUEVO CASH – Complicated but has bags of talent. Was pulled up in 14 August race of reference but is clearly in form and will be dangerous if he gets off on the right foot
  79. NICKEL DE BAILLE – Fine servant with a flair for the monte code. Is being conditioned and others preferred
  80. NAT KING COLE – Second in a Group II at Enghien over 2,150m on 14 August 2026. Has won at this level, is plainly close to his race, and will be no easy touch
Summary: Thierry Duvaldestin is strongly represented here. NUEVO (7), who puts his unbeaten record on the line, and NUEVO CASH (10), for whom it will be all-or-nothing, will need to be wary of Philippe Allaire’s reliably-performant NAT KING COLE (12), and a freshly-reconfigured NOBEL DU RIB (4), who takes a notable hike in category.

    C8 – PRIX PARISTURF (PRIX DE NEUILLY) – 2850m (a2m) – – Harness – EUR € 68,000
  81. I LOVE JOSSELYN – Quality campaigner but is being conditioned here and will have other priorities
  82. FEU DE REVOLTE – Modest individual that has done nothing noteworthy for almost 2 years and is not about to change his ways
  83. JIBI DU FRUITIER – Finished 6th in a Class D at Enghien over 2,150m on 12 August 2026. Has otherwise been in solid form and, barefoot this time, is unlikely to return home empty-handed
  84. DIVA DEL RONCO – Quality mare making first appearance since running 6th in a Naples Gr.3 in early-May and will not be given a hard race
  85. ISIS D’HERFRAIE – Finished 10th in a Class D at Lisieux over 2,725m on 15 July 2026. Is not the easiest of horses to gauge but does have references at this level and should not be overlooked
  86. IDOLE ELDE – Just missed out on the three-timer when 2nd in a Class D at Rochefort Sur Loire over 3,000m on 16 August 2026. Has been in fine form since early-May and even though moving up in category can finish in the mix
  87. XERAVA C.D. – Finished 2nd in a Class B at Enghien over 2,875m on 6 August 2026. Consistently gives her best and with form maintained can challenge for a place in the picture
  88. IDEAL DE CASTELLE – Dominated a 2150m Enghien Class D 2.5 weeks ago. Excels with Eric Raffin, starts in front, and looks main danger to JUST DE L’OISON (13)
  89. IRISH NICE ELGE – Should not be too quickly-condemned for losing his action in a Class D across town 2.5 weeks ago. Has already won a Class D over 2700m here this season and cannot be discounted
  90. IKURO JIEL – Has not been seen out since coming 6th in a monte Class B at Caen over 2,450m on 9 May 2026. Is preparing for a campaign under the saddle and will have nothing to contribute
  91. IT’S MY DREAM – Runner-up in a monte Class C at Les Sables D’Olonne over 2,775m on 24 July 2026. Is here for reasons of conditioning and can be ignored
  92. COLBERT WF – Fifth in a Class B at Enghien over 2,875m on 29 July 2026. Is barefoot as he was when 4th behind JUST DE L’OISON (13) in an Enghien Class B on 11 July and represents a decent place chance
  93. JUST DE L’OISON – Drops in category after making short work of a 2700m Gr.3 here last weekend. Benefits from a terrific entry and Theo Duvaldestin will be keen to take advantage. Claim
Summary: In peak condition, JUST DE L’OISON (13) looks capable of giving 25m to the reconfigured, recent Enghien winner IDEAL DE CASTELLE (8) who has never finished outside the first four in nine starts with Eric Raffin. Seldom seen barefoot, COLBERT WF (12) is one to fear, as well as the reliable XERAVA C.D. (7) whose recent outing was most encouraging.

  94. IDEAL DELADOU – Got back in the game at Cabourg a fortnight ago when 4th in a 2725m Class E. Alexandre Abrivard reining this time but others still easier to support
  95. ISSIA DE CHARLY – Finished 5th in a Class E at Enghien over 2,150m on 6 August 2026, at 50-1, and a repeat seems unlikely
  96. HEROS DHELPA – Finished 5th in a Class D at Enghien over 2,875m on 12 August 2026. Reliability not his strong suit but is barefoot this time and with Mathieu Mottier reining should not be overlooked
  97. IQUEM – Has just the one race under his belt following a 5 months absence and is not about to create an upset
  98. IDEAL DE SASSY – Showed improvement when 5th in an Agon Class E mid-month. Has no Vincennes references but in the hands of Damien Bonne will be afforded every chance
  99. IDEFIX JIHEM – Finished 11th in a Class E at Enghien over 2,150m on 6 August 2026. Is significantly better than that but will first need to re-establish his credentials
  100. INTREPIDE DES BOIS – Excellent runner-up in a Class E at Enghien over 2,150m on 6 August 2026. Has been knocking at the door this summer and the change of venue may be just the ticket
  101. IASELMA – In the frame in last 2, most recently 3rd in a Cabourg Class E a fortnight ago, and in current condition is easy to recommend
  102. ICARE DUNGY – Finished 6th in a Group III at Grenade-Sur-Garonne over 2,700m on 15 August 2026. Takes a notable dip in category, appreciates these conditions, and despite the wide draw can bring home the bacon
  103. IRINA DE MONTCEAU – Second in a Class F at Montier En Der over 3,025m on 9 August 2026. Is clearly close to her race but at this level is not an obvious choice
  104. HORUS DE VAL – Easy winner of a Class E at Argentan over 2,150m on 16 August 2026. Eric Raffin in the bike this time and a repeat is not out of the question
  105. IMPACT PLAYER – Ran 6th in a Class E at Enghien over 2,150m on 6 August 2026 after having twice placed the previous month. Paul Ploquin gets the nod this time but still looks no more than a minor place chance
Summary: ICARE DUNGY (9), reconfigured and twice second here during the winter, INTREPIDE DES BOIS (7), who looks close to his race and who runs barefoot this time, and HORUS DE VAL (11), an impressive recent winner at Argentan, look the leading contenders. They can be preferred to IASELMA (8) whose form is not in question.

Summary: STIR CRAZY (3) showed marked improvement when making his handicap debut at Dieppe late in July when he was a close second.
