R1 CABOURG [R-H]
C1 – PRIX FANDANGO – 2750m (a1m1/2) – Class A Race – Mounted – EUR € 57,000
- KIWI DE TREMONT – 10th of 16, on return to competition, in a 2875m Enghien Class B mid-June. Is complicated at the best of times but debuts under the saddle and can get a look in if Victor Saussaye keeps him focused
- IMHOTEP MADRIK – Imposed under harness at Caen before confirming in a Class F over course and distance 10 days ago. Is being aimed higher this time but with form maintained can still finish in the mix
- FAUST DE BEYLEV – Last of 12 in a Class D over course and distance a week ago. Yet to convince this term and can be passed over
- JUST FOR BACK – Clearly going well when sanctioned in a 2875m Enghien Gr.3 last week. Won on sole start with Mathieu Mottier and must be taken seriously
- FOREVER JIEL – Returns to the discipline after finishing 6th of 8 in a 2875m Enghien harness Class C early this month. Has done little of note under the saddle for some time and others preferred
- HERADAMES – Back under the saddle after being sanctioned early in a 2875m Enghien harness Class B last weekend. Has not once disappointed when unshod here and must be considered a leading proposition
- FLEURON D’ACADIE – Returned to winning ways in a 2875m Enghien Gr.3 last week. Unlikely to repeat but is unlikely to be sent out at 88/1 either. First 5
- GABRIELLA DUEM – Returns to the code after finishing 6th of 11 in a 2875m Enghien harness Class B last Saturday, and can impose if she gets off on the right foot
- HOMER DE FROMENTEL – Has not been seen out since finishing last but one in a 2700m Vincennes Gr.2 3 months ago and is going to need the race
- KAPAULA DE L’EPINE – Sanctioned in a 2850m Vincennes Gr.1 on 22 June. Takes on some tough older horses but has the class to win a race of this nature
Summary: GABRIELLA DUEM (8) passed her ridden test with flying colours in early-May and returns to the discipline reconfigured and with a realistic chance of imposing. She will however be pitted against group-class mare KAPAULA DE L’EPINE (10) who could not have wished for a better entry, and HERADAMES (6) who ran in a place behind the Abrivards’ mare at Caen. Mathieu Mottier takes over on JUST FOR BACK (4) who will have a lot to contribute even though racing shod.

C2 – PRIX DU CONSEIL REGIONAL DE NORMANDIE – 2750m (a1m1/2) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 29,000 - KING BLACK DANOVER – Unexceptional here earlier in the month before finishing last but one in a 3200m Montmirail Class F last Sunday and is not about to shake things up
- KIM BLUE – Ran 2nd at Montmirail before faulting early in a Class F over course and distance 10 days ago. On front line here and can get in on the action if Julien Dubois manages to keep her focused
- JUSTE AVANT – Sanctioned in last 2, most recently a 2725m Pornichet Class G a fortnight ago. Starts in front and will not be far from the action if he deigns to stay in stride
- JOS DU PILET – Sanctioned in a 2050m amateurs Class G here on Tuesday and backs up reconfigured but with limited chances
- KELLE EAU – Kicked the year off well but disappointing in last 4, latterly finishing last but one in a 2100m Vincennes Class E on 7 June, and is not about to cause an upset
- KALINE D’ATOUT – 9th of 12 finishers in a 2825m Class F at Le Croise-Laroche on 23 June. Is barefoot this time but is still not a concern
- KANDAR JIEL – 9th of 11 finishers in a 3025m Montier-en-Der Class F on 6 July. Sports modified shoeing, enjoys a good entry in front, and with the help of Gabi Gelormini can begin to reassure connections. First 5
- JUPITER D’ALIENIS – Oddly lacklustre 8th of 10 finishers in a 3000m Class F at Le Neuborg on 28 June. Is nicely-engaged though and can get a look in if he takes to the new profile
- KASTA DU RIB – Good, consistent mare that ran a flattering 5th of 16, a place behind KAMELIA DE JEAN (10), in a 2600m Class D at Le Mont-Saint-Michel 2.5 weeks ago. Shoes on this time though and best to wait
- KAMELIA DE JEAN – Produced an excellent result, on first start for over 2 months, to come 4th of 16 in a 2600m Class D at Le Mont-Saint-Michel 2.5 weeks ago. Reverts to racing with pads, and incurs the penalty, but still looks competitive
- KRYSTAL PIYA – Took little time getting back to his best, lastly dominating a 2875m Enghien Class D on 24 May and Francois Lagadeuc will be mindful of keeping his charge’s unbeaten Cabourg record intact
- KENTUCKY SOMOLLI – Starts for first time since running 5th of 16 in a 2150m Enghien Class C on 24 May. In less-exalted company this time, excels racing right-handed, and looks main danger to KRYSTAL PIYA (11)
- JE VIENS DU SUD – Handy trotter that ran 2nd of 14 in a 3100m Savenay Class E on 8 June but already looks out of his depth
- JUDITH REINE – 10th of 16 on re-entry in an amateurs Class G over track and trip 10 days ago. Stays shod and can be ruled out
- KAGNOTTE D’AZIF – Hardy mare making first appearance since being sanctioned in a 2600m Vitteaux monte Class H 2 months ago. Has freshness on her side, boasts solid clockwise credentials, and is unlikely to go down easily. Chance
- JALMAROSA – Last of 10 in a 2850m Laval Class D 3 weeks ago. Disappointing for the past year but benefits from a good entry and could pleasantly surprise
Summary: Undefeated at Cabourg and most recently victorious at Enghien, KRYSTAL PIYA (11) will likely garner the lion’s share of support. He will however still come under pressure from the fresh KENTUCKY SOMOLLI (12) who has never disappointed here either, and KAGNOTTE D’AZIF (15) who is back under harness following a brief spell. 25m better off, barefoot, and reunited with Yoann Lebourgeois who has previously won with him, JUSTE AVANT (3) is not to be underestimated.

C3 – PRIX AFASEC DE GRAIGNES – 2725m (a1m1/2) – Class F Amateur Riders Race – Harness – EUR € 20,000 - JURASSIC – Made up for Arras sanction when 3rd of 10 in a 2700m Class F at Le Croise-Laroche on 23 June. Well-engaged at the limit of earnings and in spite of an inside draw can still figure prominently
- JUNON DES ROSES – Returns to the professional ranks after winning a 2050m amateurs Class G here on Tuesday. Unlikely to repeat but should nevertheless hold her own
- JAZZ – 7th of 16 in a 2300m Chateaubriant Class F 11 days ago. Has never finished out of first 2 when applied here though and from the 3-spot can give this a good go
- J’Y SUIS J’Y RESTE – Produced 4 superb performances before finishing 11th of 12 in a Class F conditioner over course and distance last week. Enjoys a terrific draw and should logically take all the beating
- JULIO DU RIB – 12th of 16 when preparing for this in a 2675m Lisieux amateurs Class G a fortnight ago. Has won 2 of 3 when barefoot here and the draw will only enhance his prospects
- JALHIA DU HANOY – Cabourg-loving mare that finished last but one in a 2850m Laon Class D on re-entry late last month. Stays shod and best to wait
- JOYCE PILE – Oddly out of sorts when last of 14 in a 2800m Bernay Class F last Sunday. Has otherwise been in fine shape and will be expected to redeem herself
- JUTLAND DE TILLARD – Steps up in category after winning a 2700m Graignes claimer mid-June. Has pulled a tough number and faces a much stiffer test this time around
- JOSIE NONANTAISE – 3rd of 10 in a 2475m Francheville Class F last Monday. Has performed admirably in 2 of 3 starts this term and can make first 5 if Aurore Althoffer successfully navigates the start
- JAKVAL DES BORDES – Has looked very ordinary this year, most recently 6th of 10 finishers in a 3000m Class F at Le Neuborg 3 weeks ago, and has no possible chance
- JOCONDE DES PRES – 4th of 13 in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class G 10 days ago. Barefoot again and despite the draw can still play an important role
- JOYAU D’INFREVILLE – Out of the picture in last 4, latterly sanctioned in a 2750m Class F at La Capelle a week ago, and can expect to have few friends
- JOKER DU COQ – Has struggled to make any impact this term, latterly 8th of 10 finishers in a 2900m Clairefontaine Class F last Sunday, and will have nothing to offer
- JOY ERCA – 7th of 13 behind JOCONDE DES PRES (11) in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class G 10 days ago. Has placed just once in 7 starts here and the draw only compounds matters
Summary: Unplaced when prepping for this here a week ago, J’Y SUIS J’Y RESTE (4) races barefoot this time, benefits from an excellent draw, and looks the one to beat. Maxime Herrault will still want to be mindful of two-times Cabourg winner JULIO DU RIB (5) who is similarly barefoot and well-positioned, and the in-form JURASSIC (1) who debuts at the venue with a good hand to play. Hard to knock when barefoot, JOCONDE DES PRES (11) has never disappointed here when barefoot and in spite of a 2nd line start still looks a player.

C4 – GRAND PRIX DE LA VILLE DE CABOURG – 2750m (a1m1/2) – Class B Race – Harness – EUR € 49,000 - IQUEM D’AMER – Good, consistent sort making first appearance since running 5th of 16 in a 2850m Vincennes Class D in early-May. Shoes fitted this time and can be passed over
- HONEY KING – Last of 8 when preparing for this in a 2875m Enghien Class C on comeback earlier this month. Goes barefoot this time though, at a track he likes, and is unlikely to disappoint
- HALO AM – Picked up victory at Caen before coming 3rd of 10 in a 2700m Vincennes Class C on 13 June. Is as adaptable as they come, excels with Yoann Lebourgeois, and must be taken very seriously
- HOBBES – Sanctioned early in a 2100m Vincennes Class C on 22 June. Has ability but is not the most dependable and even though sporting modified shoeing, cannot be considered a priority
- JUST A MIDI – 9th of 16 behind JOLIE SURPRISE (10) in a 2850m Vincennes Gr.3 on 22 June, his first start since February. Makes just 3rd right-handed start but at this level must be retained
- KHAL’S FELLA – Has not been seen out since running 7th of 14 in a 2200m Vincennes Gr.1 on 1 March. Here for reasons of conditioning and can be passed over
- CANTO DEI VENTI – 3rd of 15, despite traffic issues, in a 2150m Enghien Class C 3 weeks ago. Seldom seen racing clockwise but consistently gives his best and in present condition is easy to recommend. Chance
- HAWAI PONT VAUTIER – Hardy element starting for first time since running 7th of 18 in a 3475m Castillonnès Class D on 8 May. Shod for comeback and best to keep one’s powder dry
- HARDI CROWN – Surprisingly lacklustre 8th of 11 behind JACK TONIC (16) in a 2850m Vincennes Class B on 7 June. Pleased in both starts at the venue and should not be overlooked
- JOLIE SURPRISE – Very unlucky 7th of 16 in a 2850m Vincennes Gr.3 on 22 June. Is clearly in rude health, is confirmed here, and considering the entry will be dangerous
- JEANNETTE PRIORY – Made up for Villeneuve sanction when 2nd of 16 in a 2950m Toulouse Gr.3 on 18 June. Tony Le Beller could not have wished for a better engagement and is in with a realistic chance of imposing this time
- FALCO DES ROCHERS – Disappointing on the whole this term, latterly 8th of 15 in a 3000m Montluçon Class A mid-June. Has solid Cabourg form but in this company will have too much to do
- ESTEBAN JIEL – Has not been seen out since finishing 9th of 13 in a 2850m Vincennes Class A last February and is going to need the run
- HEDIC GEMA – Classy type that ran 4th of 8 in a 2950m Vichy Gr.2 early this month. Sports pads this time though and best to hold off
- KOKOTE – High-class mare making first start since finishing last of 10 in a 2850m Vincennes Gr.2 in early-May. Is clearly here for reasons of conditioning and is unlikely to make much of an impact
- JACK TONIC – Quality individual that was not as sharp as expected when 3rd of 11 in a 2850m Vincennes Class B on 7 June. Enjoys a decent entry, placed last time at Cabourg, and must be respected
Summary: Following a pair of fruitless outings, JEANNETTE PRIORY (11) left a fine impression in a Toulouse Gr.3 a month back and even though never having produced the goods at Cabourg, she benefits from an excellent entry and is very easy to like for the win. CANTO DEI VENTI (7) is plainly close to his best and will be no pushover if he stays covered up. Also nicely-in on the front line, JOLIE SURPRISE (10) suffered all sorts of woes at Vincennes last month and, clearly in form, will have her chances. A model of consistency in his current configuration, HALO AM (3) has never failed to deliver racing clockwise and will not be far off the mark. JUST A MIDI (5) will have progressed for his comeback run and has nothing to prove at this level.

C5 – PX SULKY PASSION (PX OF DU TOURISME CAB) – 2725m (a1m1/2) – Class F Race – Harness – EUR € 23,000 - KERAMIDA – 7th of 13, a place behind KALISTA DE HOUELLE (6), in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class F on 8 July and quite simply has no possible chance
- KUTARA MICHE – Sprang a 31/1 surprise when 3rd of 16 in a 2750m Class F here 10 days ago. Breaks from the 2-spot and with form maintained can again figure prominently
- KATANA – Sanctioned early in a 2450m Caen monte Class E on 23 June. Has previously won here but in current condition is not easy to recommend
- KISSABELLA – Ran 2nd at Caen on 23 June but failed to confirm 8 days later when 10th of 11 finishers, a place behind KAMTCHATKA (7), in a 2050m Class F here. Handed a good draw though and Benjamin Rochard will be keen to oblige
- KERIA FLEURY – Sanctioned in 4 of last 5, most recently a 2050m Class F here on 1 July. Is not without merit but others easier to trust
- KALISTA DE HOUELLE – Failed to confirm Nancy performance when 6th of 13, after faulting, in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class F on 8 July. Ideally engaged close to the limit of earnings though and must be considered a player
- KAMTCHATKA – Was heading for victory before faulting in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class F 10 days ago. Is seldom far from losing her action but can win this if her trainer keeps her focused
- KUZCOTOPIA – 8th of 14 in a 2500m Molieres Class H on 6 July. Pads fitted this time but can still be ruled out
- KELLE BLEUE – Reverts to a previous formula after running 6th of 8 finishers in a 2700m Graignes Class F 3 weeks ago. Forced too start from back line and cannot be considered a priority
- KABALA QUICK – 2nd of 14 in a 2750m Class E here 2 weeks ago. Has taken Mathieu Mottier little time to see results and winning this is well within her capacity
- KALINE D’ERPION – Should not be condemned for finishing 8th of 9 in a 2900m Arras Class E late last month. Form is not in question and with Alexandre Abrivard in the bike will not go down easily
- KALIMERA FLASH – Excellent during the spring but unplaced in last 2, latterly 14th of 15 in a 2800m Bernay Class E on 6 July, and the draw only complicates issues
- KIARA DE LANDEMER – Rewarded with victory in a 2725m Lisieux Class F on 3 July. Not ideally positioned this time and will struggle to confirm
Summary: KAMTCHATKA (7) would have imposed at Saint-Malo had she not faulted 100m out, and even though never having delivered at Cabourg, and drawn wide, she is plainly in rude health and with application can make amends. She will be opposed by 2nd line starter, KABALA QUICK (10), who gave a reassuringly good account here earlier in the month, and KALISTA DE HOUELLE (6) who raced better at Saint-Malo than the result would suggest. KALINE D’ERPION (11) can be forgiven her recent Arras effort and should be backed with confidence.

- LUCKY JUMP – Failed to confirm late-June performance when sanctioned in a 2400m Amiens Class F last week. Breaks in front but others easier to back
- LORD DE JAFA – 3rd of 7 finishers in a 2400m Amiens Class F on 10 July. Faces a stiffer test this time and chances appear limited
- LET ME HOPE – Comfortable winner, after a 2 months break, of a 2200m Vichy Class F on 24 June. Top pilot at the helm this time and has every chance of securing the double
- LOOK DE CARA – Last of 11, on first start since the spell, in a 2800m Vire Class F late last month and is not about to influence the result
- LUGANO DU CADRAN – Oddly below-par 7th of 13 in a 2800m Bernay Class F last Sunday. Has otherwise been in fine form and with Gabi Gelormini reining will be afforded every chance
- LORD SAINT MARTIN – Won a 2525m Class F at Les Andelys on 6 July. Is well in on the front line, sports modified shoeing, and the engagement of Benjamin Rochard will do his chances no disservice. First 5
- LE HAVRE – Going well when sanctioned in a 2725m Class E here 10 days ago. Shoes fitted this time and best to hold off
- LAMBO DE LEAU – Returns to the harness code after coming 2nd of 10 in a 2725m Lisieux monte Class F a fortnight ago, but chances slim at best
- LEBARON D’OURVILLE – Kicked the year off with a double but disappointing since, latterly sanctioned in a Class E over course and distance 10 days ago, and the handicap will do him no favours
- LEONARD DE VINCI – Got off the mark, at 12th time of asking, of a 2675m Class E at Le Mont-Saint-Michel 2.5 weeks ago. Should take well to Cabourg profile and will be expected to bring the fight to LET ME HOPE (4)
- LUXOR D’AUVILLIER – Runner-up in 2 harness events before being sanctioned after running 5th in a 2250m Enghien monte Class D 3 weeks ago. Has form here and can again challenge for a place on the podium
- LOVE DANCER – Ran 2nd at Tours before coming 3rd of 10 finishers in a 2450m Caen Class D on 23 June. Benefits from a very good entry and can again finish close
- L’ARC EN CIEL – Out of the picture in 3 this season, latterly sanctioned in a 2250m Enghien monte Class D 3 weeks ago, and can expect to have few takers
Summary: Winner at Vichy last month on his first start for Alexis Grimault, LET ME HOPE (4) will be partnered by Mathieu Mottier this time and from the front line can make this his own. 25m worse off but plainly in excellent shape, LEONARD DE VINCI (11) reverts to a previous configuration but still looks the main threat. LOVE DANCER (13) is clearly close to his race and makes his Cabourg bow with a good hand to play. Consistently in the thick of things when focused, LUXOR D’AUVILLIER (12) is back under harness at a track he appreciates and Franck Nivard will ensure him a competitive drive.

C7 – PRIX DU CONSEIL DEPARTEMENTAL DU CALVADOS – 2725m (a1m1/2) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 25,000 - MY DREAM MESLOIS – Made short work of a 2850m Laval Class F on 20 June. Has buckets of untapped potential and returns to racing right-handed with every chance of imposing
- MAGELLANO SUN – Opened his account at Lignieres before missing out by little in a 2450m Caen Class D a month back. Is plainly close to winning another and will be expected to give MY DREAM MESLOIS (1) a run for his money
- MYSTIC D’AVE – Lost his action when going well in a 2050m Class E here 2 weeks ago. Has ample ability but others still easier to trust
- MUST DE CHANLECY – Sanctioned on re-entry in a 2650m Class D at les Sables-d’Olonne last Saturday. Benjamin Rochard in the bike this time and will have a lot to contribute
- MASSILIO BLOND – Unexceptional sort that finished last of 9 behind MAMBO THORIS (7) in a 2050m Class E here a fortnight ago and has no realistic chance
- MILLESIME STAR – Not disgraced when last but one in a Class D over course and distance on 1 July. Is plainly better than that and can pick up a first-5 cheque this time around
- MAMBO THORIS – Made up for Vincennes sanction when 3rd of 10 in a 2050m Class E here a fortnight ago, however a repeat seems most improbable
- MERCANTOUR – Has not been seen out since being sanctioned in a 2700m Vincennes monte Class C on 1 April and will have other priorities
- MALKO MESLOIS – Sanctioned early in a 2750m Class E here a week ago. Top pilot in the bike this time and in spite of a poor draw can still figure prominently
Summary: Some good future trotters lining up here and it is hard to ignore MY DREAM MESLOIS (1) who made no bones about opening his account at Laval last month and who looks eminently capable of confirming. Alexandre Abrivard will still be keeping a watchful eye on MAGELLANO SUN (2) who has looked a thorough professional since his April debut, and the promising MUST DE CHANLECY (4) who returns to racing clockwise after a much-needed re-entry run. MALKO MESLOIS (9) missed the start here last week but has been entrusted to Yoann Lebourgeois for the occasion and will be expected to redeem himself.

- MELODIE DE PARIS – Untried filly that qualified under the saddle in 1’17″5 at Caen last week and if as productive in competition will not be far off the mark
- MON EGERIE – Qualified in 1’19″6 under the saddle at Meslay-du-Maine on 24 June. Market will guide
- MA ROBERTA – Showed marginal improvement when 5th of 8 finishers behind MUSEA (12) in a 2450m Caen monte Class F on 23 June. Unlikely to spring any surprises but can nevertheless hold her own
- MAYO DES FLOTS – 4th on monte debut at Laval before being sanctioned in a 2700m Segre Class G late last month. Has merit but others still easier to back
- MADISON MONNERIE – Failed to confirm late-May performance when 6th of 8 finishers behind MUSEA (12) in a 2450m Caen monte Class F on 23 June. Benjamin Rochard in the saddle this time and will be afforded every chance. First 5
- MAHIZ DE GUEZ – Sanctioned early in a 2850m Vincennes harness Class D a month back. Pleased under the saddle first time out and has every chance of getting off the mark

- MY LADY HERMA – 2nd of 4 finishers in a 2000m Class E at La Capelle 12 days ago. Takes on a better lot here and a repeat seems unlikely
- MUSEA – Good 2nd of 8 finishers in a 2450m Caen monte Class F on 23 June, her first start under the saddle, and can again make the frame if Paul Ploquin keeps her focused
- MELUSINEDARCHE – Back under the saddle after being sanctioned in a 2675m Lisieux harness Class F on 3 July. Mathieu Mottier aboard this time and must be afforded respect
- MISS TAHITI – Unexceptional filly returning to the ridden code after being sanctioned in a 2300m Marseille-Borely harness Class D on 10 June, and will not be troubling the judge
- MELODIE DE BLARY – Showed a different side when 2nd of 12 in a 2450m Caen Class D in late-May. Comes here fresh and looks a serious proposition
- MIMI D’AUVILLIER – Makes her ridden debut after being sanctioned in a 2625m Cherbourg harness Class E mid-June and will struggle to make her presence felt
Summary: Second on debut, under the saddle, before losing her action under harness, MAHIZ DE GUEZ (7) returns to the ridden code, with Alexandre Abrivard in the irons, and should have the measure of the field. They can nonetheless expect to feel some heat from MELODIE DE BLARY (15) who produced a very good effort at Caen last time out. The complicated MELUSINEDARCHE (13) was sanctioned that day but with application can figure prominently, but may first have to see off MUSEA (12) whose recent monte debut did not go unnoticed.
