R1 CABOURG [R-H]

C1 – PRIX JEAN BALLIERE – 2750m (a1m1/2) – Claiming – Harness – EUR € 45,000

  1. LEXCELLENT DU METZ – Made it 2 in a row when successful in a Class D over course and distance a fortnight ago. Is not about to secure the hat-trick but should nevertheless hold his own
  2. L’AMIRAL GAGNANT – Finished 4th in a Class C at Enghien over 2,150m on 11 July. Takes a hike in category and has never delivered racing right-handed. Disregard
  3. LOVEBIRD – Has been knocking at the door over recent weeks, latterly 2nd in a Class C at Enghien over 2,150m on 11 July, and is unlikely to disappoint
  4. LOTUS GRIFF – Has bags of talent but below-par lately, most recently 8th in a Class B at Enghien over 2,875m on 18 July, and will need to raise his game
  5. LA STAR ROC – Fourth in a Gr.3 at Enghien over 2,875m on 4 July. Appears to be back in business but looks more a minor place chance at best this time
  6. LOUIS VITTON MIJO – Comfortable winner of a 2850m Gr.3 at Vincennes over 2,850m on 21 June. Has yet to score racing clockwise but in current shape is easy to like for the win
  7. LUPIN D’OLMEN – Runner-up in a Gr.3 at Enghien over 2,875m on 4 July. Boasts a superb win-rate, proved at Agen last month that he can race right-handed, and looks the one to beat
  8. LITTLE BROWN – Should not be too hastily-judged for losing his action in Grand Prix de la Ville de Cabourg 2 weeks ago. Has nothing to prove in this category and, with application, can play a prominent part
  9. LOMBOK JIEL – Top-tier trotter that has won at the highest level. Has not been seen out since early-May, will be shod for the occasion, and starts alone on the back line, but still cannot be discounted
    Summary: A small but quality field goes to post here. LUPIN D’OLMEN (7) has found an ideal opportunity and if Yoann Lebourgeois gets him to the front early, they could prove hard to catch. LOUIS VUITTON MIJO (6) is the one to fear most, possessing the turn of foot to put the favourite under pressure. Seeking redemption, LITTLE BROWN (8) has been reconfigured and just gets the nod ahead of formidable finisher LOVEBIRD (3).

  10. KISS ME DU THENNEY – Scored 5th career victory when comfortably winning a 2675m Class F at Le Mont-Saint-Michel on 16 July, but will race shod this time and others preferred
  11. KROKEUSE – Ran 3rd in a Class H Amateurs’ race at Montier En Der over 3,025m on 18 July 2026. Is consistently in the mix but at this level will need to find more
  12. KALINKA ERA – Ran 5th of 16 on comeback in a 2650m Class F at Les Sables-d’Olonne mid-month, at 654-1. A repeat, however, seems improbable
  13. LA STAR – Ran 9th, on re-entry, in a Class D at Le Mont St Michel over 2,600m on 30 June. Will have progressed for the race and should logically finish closer
  14. LIBERTY PIYA – Tricky but talented mare making first appearance since December. Is shod for return and best to hold off
  15. LA KIFFANCE PIYA – Would have finished closer than 5th in a Class E at Enghien over 2,875m on 22 July had she been afforded a run, and her trainer-driver will be keen to set the record straight. Chance
  16. KALANSKA – Runner-up in a Class G at Bernay over 2,800m on 12 July. Is patently close to her race and while not a priority here can still get in on the action
  17. LA CALLAS – Respectable but unthreatening 4th in a 2675m Class E at Le Mont-Saint-Michel a fortnight ago. Has placed in 1 of 2 Cabourg starts but is unlikely to upset the status quo this time
  18. LITTLE DU RIB – Third in a Class E at Enghien over 2,875m on 22 July. Seldom gets her nose in front, but always gives her best, and is unlikely to disappoint
  19. LADY QUEEN – Has looked ordinary since scoring at Angers on 12 May, most recently eliminated in 2 of last 3, and can be passed over
  20. LA MITIDJA – 7th in a Class D at Pornichet over 2,725m on 16 July and will not be troubling the judge
  21. KAMELIA DE JEAN – 9th in a Class F Apprentices’ race at Bernay over 2,800m on 12 July 2026. Has been completely off the boil this year and can be ignored
  22. KALINE D’ERPION – Runner-up in a Class D over course and distance on 21 July. Is hard to knock when focused, is as comfortable going right-handed as left-, and is not one to be underestimated
  23. LYRA POTERIE – Fourth in a Class D at Enghien over 2,875m on 11 July. Is not always the most dependable but is plainly in good shape and benefits from an excellent entry. Place prospect
  24. LADY POP – Clinched victory in a Class E at Amiens over 2,900m on 10 July. Is shod as she was that day and has a realistic chance of confirming
  25. LUCIOLE DU VERTAIN – Finished 7th in a Class D at La Capelle over 1,800m on 7 July. Consistently gives her best, and benefits from a good entry, but cannot be considered a player
    Summary: LADY POP (15) wasted little time getting back to her best, winning on just her second start of the year. Well-engaged here, she is preferred ahead of a reconfigured LA KIFFANCE PIYA (6), who endured misfortune at Enghien, and, sporting a new formula, KALINE D’ERPION (13) who is capable of giving her younger rivals plenty to think about. LYRA POTERIE (14) lacks consistency but she caught the eye at Enghien last time and has claims on a place in the picture. KALANSKA (7), who has been showing improvement, also merits consideration.

  26. ROCKY OASIS – Is no slouch in this branch of the business but will need to improve on his 6th in a Lisieux Class F mid-month
  27. KARMA LIGHT – Modest element coming to Cabourg on a hat-trick of eliminations and is unlikely to generate much interest
  28. DEAR WISE AS – Debuts in the discipline after winning a Class H at La Clayette on 19 July, his first right-handed start, and with Louis Piton in the irons will be afforded every chance
  29. LUCA BAROSSO – Imposed at Chartres before being prepped under harness here 3 weeks ago, and even in the absence of Mathieu Mottier can play a leading role. Chance
  30. KOPRIORO – Third in a Class F over track and trip on 14 July 2026. Appears to be close to his race and looks a solid proposition once more
  31. OBSERVE’EM – Made his French debut a winning one when authoritatively winning a 2725m harness Class F here on 10 July. Has demonstrated solid monte potential and is eminently capable of imposing
  32. KOME ON ERCA – Runner-up in a Class F at Pornichet over 2,725m on 8 July 2026, his first start of the summer. Has nothing to prove in either code and must be taken seriously
  33. DEVIL OP – Finished 2nd in a Class F at Chartres over 2,800m on 17 June 2026, making it 5 places in last 6 starts, and is unlikely to go down without a fight
  34. KLASSIC FROMENTRO – Disappointing on the whole over recent months, latterly eliminated at La Ferte-Vidame on 19 July, and must get his house in order
  35. KEY BISCAYNE – Returns to the monte discipline following some decent harness efforts, but is not the most courageous of horses and can be passed over
  36. HIJO MOKO – Modest element that made no impact in a harness amateurs Class G here 10 days ago and can be confidently ruled out
    Summary: OBSERVE’EM (6) made a perfect start to his French career when scoring under harness here 3 weeks ago. Already proven under the saddle, the Swedish-trained trotter commands plenty of respect. LUCA BAROSSO (4) created quite the impression when winning at Chartres in June and is capable of another bold showing if Eva Bouclet manages to pace him correctly. Among the French-trained runners, KOPRIORO (5) looks the pick, while DEVIL OP (8) is expected to run his usual honest race.

  38. JACKSON TOUCH – Runner-up in a Class E at Lisieux over 2,675m on 15 July. Not always the most dependable of horses and a repeat seems unlikely
  39. JOKER D’AMARO – Won 2 in a row before coming 5th in a Class D at Montier En Der over 3,025m on 18 July. Starts in front here but appears to be taking on too much
  40. JALICO DU FRUITIER – Impressive winner of a Class E at Cagnes-sur-Mer over 2,925m on 6 July 2026 despite having been denied a run. Is unbeaten in 3 starts for Alexis Collette and must be considered a player
  41. JADE – Finished 4th in a Class E at Lisieux over 2,675m on 15 July 2026, on just her 2nd start following the spell. Starts in front here and has a decent chance of getting a look in
  42. JURELLA DE PALM – Made it 2 wins from 3 starts when easily dominating a Class E at Lisieux over 2,675m on 15 July. Starts in front and, if behaved, can again finish close
  43. HELBERT FOUTEAU – Disqualified in a Class F at Lisieux over 2,675m on 2 July after having imposed at Reims the previous month. Has won twice here but will struggle to make his mark this time
  44. JAMAICA D’OYSE – Was on a good run of form but unplaced in last 2. Sports a fresh configuration but still looks to be out of her depth
  45. HYPSO DES CAILLONS – Showed marked improvement when 5th in a Genets Class F on 12 July but at this level will have nothing to offer
  46. HIBISCUS NORMAND – Unplaced in a Bagnoles-de-l’Orne Class F 2.5 weeks ago when being conditioned. Benefits from a good entry and with shoes off will have his supporters
  47. JANE CASH – Quality mare but has just the one race under her belt since the spring break and is clearly still in conditioning-mode
  48. JACK DES ASS – Failed to pull off the hat-trick when eliminated in a Class D at Vichy over 2,950m on 24 June. Should not be too hastily-judged though and, with application, can make amends
  49. JOKER GEMA – Third in a Class B over course and distance on 17 July. Is patently back on the right road and is easy to fancy for the win
  50. IGGYPOP D’HERFRAIE – Has not put a foot out of line so far this season, latterly 3rd in a 2850m Carentan Class D 3 weeks ago. is unlikely to win this but nonetheless has the wherewithal to play a prominent role
  51. IVOIRE PRESTANCE – Ran 2nd at Carentan before coming 5th in an Enghien Class D a fortnight ago. Appears to be back on the right road and in current condition can contest a first-five payout
  52. IVOIRE DAIRPET – Somewhat made up for Cherbourg blip when 5th in a Pornichet Class D earlier in the month. Is confirmed at Cabourg and, despite the good entry, can expect to have few friends
    Summary: JOKER GEMA (13) comes here on the back of a solid third place in the competitive Grand Prix de la Ville de Cabourg. Before that, he made a striking impression when imposing at Vichy and looks the one to beat. 22 times a winner in 37 starts, JACK DES ASS (12) represents the chief danger. JURELLA DE PALM (6) continues to run well and scored in pleasing fashion at Lisieux mid-month. Barring mishap, she should be in the thick of the action alongside IGGYPOP D’HERFRAIE (14), who is enjoying a rich vein of form, and IVOIRE PRESTANCE (15), provided Florian Desmigneux keeps him trotting.

  54. MANDARINO CUT – Runner-up in a Class F at Lisieux over 2,725m on 20 June. Has been knocking at the door since early-spring and should again figure prominently
  55. METALO DE PLAY – 7th in a Class F at Granville over 3,125m on 13 July 2026. Imposed over course and distance last December but has done nothing of note since and will have few friends
  56. MUSCAT DES EPINES – Disappointing for the most part over recent months, latterly eliminated in a Class F at Le Mont-Saint-Michel 2 weeks ago, and can be passed over
  57. MONACO DU LIVET – Finished 8th in a Class F at Le Mont St Michel over 2,675m on 16 July. Is some way off his best form but starts on front row and can get a look in
  58. MIDEN DE FONTAINE – Quality individual with a pair of runs under his belt since the lengthy layoff. Benefits from a 25m head-start this time and returns to racing clockwise with a good hand to play
  59. MADE IN MARETTES – Ran 4th at Laval on 25 June, then won a Class E at Carentan 3 weeks ago. Sports pads this time but still warrants significant respect
  60. MAJOR MESLOIS – Encouraging 3rd in a Class D at Les Sables D’Olonne over 2,650m on 11 July, and with form maintained can repeat
  61. MYSTIC D’AVE – Excellent runner-up in a Class D over 2,725m here on 21 July, a fortnight after having imposed in a Class E under the same conditions a fortnight earlier, and will be no easy touch when push comes to shove
  62. MAGELLANO SUN – Has not been seen out since finishing 4th in a Class D at Vincennes over 2,700m on 30 April. Races shod this time and best to keep one’s powder dry
  63. MY LOVE DU VIVIER – Tenacious winner of a Class E under these conditions on 7 July. Excels with Yoann Lebourgeois and will be well-backed to repeat
    Summary: MY LOVE DU VIVIER (11) made a winning return when scoring in authoritative fashion over course and distance at the beginning of the month. He sports a fresh configuration and has every chance of following up. MYSTIC D’AVE (9) has posted two excellent efforts here recently and looks the principal danger. Behind the leading pair, MAJOR MESLOIS (8) has solid claims on a place, while MADE IN MARETTES (7), fitted with 4 pads this time, also merits consideration.

  65. MUSUBI DE BELLANDE – Third in a Class F at Laon over 2,650m on 19 July. Has already imposed this summer but would be preferred going left-handed
  66. MALAVISTA SOMOLLI – Eliminated in last 2, the latest a Class E at Caen over 2,450m on 27 May, and under these conditions has nothing to contribute
  67. MIRA DE BAFFAIS – Has a pair of conditioners under her belt following a lengthy layoff. Has shown a particular liking for Cabourg, starts on front row, and is not about to let the side down
  68. MELODY DE MADKER – Runner-up in a Class E at Clairefontaine over 2,900m on 13 July 2026. Is plainly a filly for the future, starts in front, and it will not be long before she gets back in the winners’ enclosure
  69. MONONOKE DE BRETT – Fifth in a Class E at Chartres over 2,800m on 28 June. Always gives her best but has nothing to offer here
  70. MOLLY DU CAUX – Handy filly but picked up on comeback where she left off in February. Has been reconfigured for the occasion but others still easier to trust
  71. MAZARINE CREPIN – Lightly-raced filly that ran 2nd in a Carentan Class E 3 weeks ago. Is new to racing clockwise but has bags of ability and must be respected
  72. MALINE DES ARRIS – Has not been seen out since coming 3rd in a Class D at Vincennes over 2,700m on 31 March. Stays shod for comeback and best to wait
  73. MAKARINA DE BOMO – Third in a Class E at Lisieux over 2,725m on 2 July. Is never far from faulting but imposed under these conditions last time here and, on good behaviour, will not be far off the mark
  74. MOON LIGHT RIVER – Finished 2nd in a Class E at Lisieux over 2,725m on 2 July, her first appearance since imposing at Vire in March. Will have come on for the run but the extra 25m will do her no favours
  75. MISSY DE JIEL – Unplaced in a Class D at Enghien over 2,150m on 1 July, her first start since January, and will have few takers
  76. MILADY OF PARIS – Finished 7th in a Class D at Clairefontaine over 2,900m on 12 July 2026, just her 2nd start following the break. Should be fully-fit by now and although unlikely to win this, can nevertheless pick up some prizemoney
  77. MAKITA BERRY – Confirmed Vichy victory when successful in a Class E over track and trip 2.5 weeks ago. Incurs the handicap this time but still looks a serious proposition
  78. MINA DRY – Showed promise at 2 and 3 but subsequently failed to come good, and recent return run did nothing to warrant optimism
  79. MANA MIX – Made it 3 straight successes when dominating a Class E over course and distance earlier in the month. Is reunited with Matthieu Abrivard who won with her at Vichy and, even from the back line, can make it 4 on the trot
    Summary: A fascinating duel in prospect here between MANA MIX (16), whose current limits have yet to be defined, and MELODY DE MADKER (5), who has been campaigned wisely. In flying form and shod as she was at Vichy, MAKITA BERRY (14) commands plenty of respect, as does MAKARINA DE BOMO (10), who seems close to her best. Competitively-shod for the first time, MIRA DE BAFFAIS (4) is expected to show a different side.

  80. NINJA DEFF – Runner-up in a Class E at Lisieux over 2,725m on 15 July. Has been climbing the category-ladder in good order and must be taken seriously. First 5
  81. NEVERLAND MIJACK – Got off the mark in a 2200m Clairefontaine Class F on 12 July. Takes a notable step up in category though and is unlikely to spice things up
  82. NICKEL DU GOUTIER – Third in a Class E at Cabourg over 2,750m on 10 July. Is in his category and is thoroughly capable of repeating
  83. NINETY TWO – Runner-up in a Class F at Clairefontaine over 2,900m on 19 July 2026. Has been enjoying a productive run of form and can get a look in if he takes to Cabourg conditions
  84. NAYKO DE LA CRIERE – Runner-up in a Class F at Amiens over 2,400m on 10 July. Should appreciate the new profile but still appears to be taking on too much
  85. NIGME DU DOUAROU – Finished 5th in a Class E over course and distance on 10 July after having won at Cherbourg on 14 June, however a repeat seems unlikely
  86. NOGERO – Second in a Class E at Laval over 2,850m on 25 June, 17 days after having imposed on debut at Vire. Pitted against better this time but is plainly a good future prospect and must be taken seriously
  87. NOVI DAN – Fourth in a Class E over course and distance on 10 July, his first start for over 2 months. Will have improved for the race and, with Yoann Lebourgeois reining, looks a more serious customer this time around. Chance
  88. NUMBER ONE MADRIK – Yet to get off the mark but has displayed decent aptitude. Was disqualified from 5th, for interference, in a Class E here 2 weeks ago and can pick up some prizemoney if kept out of trouble
  89. NABAB BREKKA – Fifth in a Class E at Cabourg over 2,725m on 17 July, after having won his first 2. Has yet to establish his right-handed credentials but it is just a question of time
  90. NYNO DE TROUVILLE – Finished 2nd in a Class E at Vichy over 2,800m on 4 July. Has twice gone close recently but at this level will need to find more
  91. NERPRUN – Runner-up in a Class E at Cabourg over 2,050m on 3 July. Is patently close to his losing his maiden tag and enjoys an excellent opportunity here
    Summary: A host of horses in with a chance here. NERPRUN (12) shaped well on his return here and is fitted with 4 pads for the first time. The task is far from straightforward, however, with NOVI DAN (8), who is open to improvement, and NOGERO (7), who has plenty of scope for progress, both posing serious threats. Third under these conditions three weeks ago, NICKEL DU GOUTIER (3) also has solid claims.

  93. MILORD DES ARRIS – Has improved this year but was only 8th in a Class D over course and distance on 14 July. Races first-time barefoot but still not a priority
  94. MOONLIGHT QUANDO – Facile winner of a Class F over course and distance on 7 July. Takes on a better bunch this time but in current condition is easy to recommend for a place in the picture
  95. MELUSINEDARCHE – Put a brace of eliminations behind her to win a Class E at Cholet over 2,800m on 9 June. Has been afforded time to get back in shape but looks more a minor place chance on this occasion
  96. MARGATE – Convincing winner of a Class F at Saint Malo over 2,950m on 9 July. Is plainly in rude health but takes on a tougher task this time and not an obvious choice
  97. MAGIC DE TILLARD – Ran 2nd in a Class E at Pornichet over 2,725m on 18 July, having also placed at Amiens the previous month. Goes barefoot again and should not be overlooked
  98. MALICIA – Excellent runner-up in a Class E at Vichy over 2,950m on 29 June. Is never far from losing her action but is clearly in shape and, if behaved, can pick up minor honours
  99. MILLE SOUS GEKA – Gave a good account to run third in a Class E over 2,050m here on 14 July. Sports a fresh formula for the occasion but others still preferred
  100. MONALYSA DU ROEN – Finished 11th, on comeback, in a Class E over track and trip on 21 July. Has merit but is going to need another run
  101. MA PIECE D’OR – Runner-up in a Class E at Laval over 2,850m on 5 July, making up for her Caen performance. Is unlikely to get her nose in front but can still figure prominently
  102. MERARU QUANDO – Fourth in a Class D at Enghien over 2,250m on 29 June, just over 2 weeks after having won at Vichy. Goes particularly well right-handed and can bring the fight to MOMINETTE (12)
  103. MOMINETTE – Lost her maiden tag in a Class E at Laval over 2,850m on 5 July. Benefits from a terrific entry here and can repeat
    Summary: Several runners have strong claims, headed by MOMINETTE (12), who got off the mark at Laval last time. MERARU QUANDO (11) drops in class and represents the main danger, along with MOONLIGHT QUANDO (3), who scored under these conditions three and a half weeks ago. At this level, MA PIECE D’OR (10) can compete for a place on the podium.

C1 – PRIX CLAUDE ROUGET – 3600m (a2m1/4) – TURF – Class 3 – Hurdles – EUR € 24,000

  1. SPEED EMILE – Finished 3rd in a Class 3 Handicap over 3600m at this course on 2 July. Is proven in both this class and this course and is the runner to beat
  2. HURRICK DES OBEAUX – A 4.5-length 2nd in a Steeplechase Handicap over 3500m at Auteuil on 30 May. He runs well in both hurdle and steeplechase and should run well in this field
  3. SWEET DAVID – Showed good improvement and was a winner in a Handicap Cross-Country Chase at Cheltenham over 5,850m on 15 November 2024. Coming back from a lengthy break but is lightly raced and has shown ability
  4. JERIKO DE KERSER – Failed to finish in a Gr2 race over 6000m at Merano in Italy on a 27 September 2025. Coming back from a 10-month absence and needs to prove himself
  5. LORDDELOUEST – A three-length winner of a Steeplechase over 500m at Morlaix on 14 June. Needs to prove himself in a hurdles’ race
  6. GALANT CHABA – Finished 8th in a Steeplechase over 4600m at Angers Eventard on 11 November 2025. Returns from an 8-month break but has good form in a hurdles race
  7. SAINT DE LOIRE – Unplaced in a Class 3 at Craon over 3,000m on 29 September 2025. Has more to do to do feature in this
    Summary: SPEED EMILE (1) stands out as the runner to beat in a race to which he should be ideally suited. He has run well against stronger and that makes him a potent contender. HURRICK DES OBEAUX (2) seldom runs a bad race and is expected to run well again, SWEET DAVID (3) and GALANT CHABA (6) fall into a similar category as both are coming back from long layoffs but do have ability on their day.

  88. MOON STRYCK – Disqualified in both starts, the latest in a Class H at Avignon over 2,650m on 4 July. Hard to trust and is best watched for now
  89. MA BELLE AVENTURE – Finished fifth in a Class F at Graignes over 2,725m on 22 May 2026. Returns from a short break and could need this run
  90. MUTINE DU LUDE – Finished 7th in a Class E over this track and trip on 19 July 2026. Reverts to barefoot and could surprise
  91. MILADY D’AS – Showed some improvement when third in a Class F at Cagnes-sur-Mer over 2700m on 15 July. Remains barefoot and can earn some money when staying in stride
  92. MENTION D’HERMES – Disqualified in a Class F at Feurs over 2100m on 17 July. Remains barefoot and can pop up in a place when in the right mood
  93. MAGIC OHEM – Disqualified twice in last three starts, including last time out in a Class E over this track and trip on 19 July. Not easy to trust and others are preferred
    Summary: A tricky lucky last race. MODELE (2) has been thriving on turf and, with conditions unlikely to pose an issue, he’s fancied to bring up a quick-fire hat-trick. MONA CROWN (6) shaped well behind a useful sort last time and rates a big danger if building on that effort. MONUMENTAL (3), preferred by David Békaert, is another to note of. MAPPA DA VINCI (8) is very much at home under these conditions and enters calculations as well.
