François Nicolle fields three runners and will be looking to NICOBAR (6), an unraced youngster with an excellent pedigree, and DON DINO (2), who impressed at Fontainebleau, to make their presence felt. Debutante NEZLIGA (10) also looks an interesting prospect and could make an immediate impact.

MISTER DAVIER (2) was held up towards the rear on his debut but made up plenty of ground over the final circuit at Saint-Brieuc earlier this month. MASCARET BLEU (8) is worth another chance. Well-bred newcomer IDEAL NONANTAIS (7) is best to keep safe on the shortlist.

Summary: VICTORSTRUNG (3) has four runs under his belt and has shown on several occasions that he should benefit from stepping up in distance. However, he will need to be wary of the newcomers, headed by the well-bred PRINCE DES DUCS (9), who receives weight from all his rivals. Trained near Angers, FOOTING (6) is another interesting debutant who could make a strong first impression, while NO PREVISTO (7), representing Joël Boisnard, also commands respect given his trainer’s excellent record at this course.

Summary: BIG FIVE (1) spent four years on the sidelines and would have a far more impressive record but for persistent health issues. He looks a solid contender on his first attempt over this distance. Benefiting from Léo-Paul Bréchet’s weight allowance, he will nevertheless need to be at his best to beat ORION ROCK (3), who is bidding to win this marathon for the second year running. GOOD MEMORY (8), who struck at Deauville this summer, confirmed at Longchamp that she remains competitive despite the penalty and warrants serious consideration. C1 – PRIX GENERAL DU POMMEAU – 2875m (a2m) – – Harness – EUR € 6,000
- JACADI DE PEBRAC – Disqualified in a Claimer at Nuille-Sur-Vicoin over 2,875m on 12 October. Placed in his last start at this level but in this company will struggle to make his presence felt
- JASMINE DU MELEUC – Fifth in a Class G Amateurs’ race at Chatelaillon over 2,625m on 25 October, however a repeat is most unlikely
- JET SETTER D’AURCY – Third in a Class E at Machecoul over 2,700m on 18 October. Has been going close for a number of months, breaks on the front line here, and should prove competitive for a place in the picture
- JEDELWEIS D’URFIST – Finished 11th in a Class F at Angers over 3,125m on 9 September, 3 weeks after winning an amateurs Class G at Les Sables-d’Olonne. Takes on a better bunch here and chances seem limited
- JASMIN DES NIELLES – Fourth in a Class F Apprentices’ race at Amiens over 2,900m on 18 October. Imposed at the same venue in September, last time at this level, but others still easier to back
- JESS HOGUINIERE – Starts for the first time since finishing 5th in a Class F at Chatillon-Sur-Chalaronne over 2,675m on 1 May. Has ample ability, is clearly in competition-mode, and should not be underestimated
- JOYEUX DE FONTAINE – Finished 5th in a Class H Amateurs’ race at Moulins La Marche over 2,825m on 13 September. Is plainly in decent shape but would have better prospects on turf
- JERRY PONT VAUTIER – Disqualified in an amateurs’ Class H at Bihorel-lès-Rouen a fortnight ago, 6 days after running 3rd in a Class H on turf. Enjoys a terrific engagement on the front row and, if behaved, can finish in the mix
- IOKINA DE KERYANN – Ran 7th in a Class G Amateurs’ race at Chartres over 2,825m on 15 October and latest figures do little to inspire confidence
- JAZZ SESSION – Returns to the amateur division after failing to deliver in a 2450m Caen Class D three weeks ago and is not a concern
- IN LOVE DE CHARDET – Honest type that ran 5th in a Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne Class F on 1 May. Is unraced since but has taken well to the amateur division and will have his supporters
- GALAXIE DU PARC – Fifth in a Class G Amateurs’ race at Saint Malo over 2,950m on 27 September. Has looked ordinary since the spring and can be passed over
- IAGO CAYENNAIS – Ran 6th in a Class E at Amiens over 2,900m on 3 October. Is clearly better than that, has been reconfigured for return to the venue, and looks a major player
- HELBERT FOUTEAU – Has been disqualified in 3 consecutive starts, the latest a Class F at Royan-La Palmyre over 2,475m on 9 August. Has form in the day’s configuration and, with application, will be no pushover
- HOKITOLOVE – Unplaced in a Class D at Caen over 2,450m on 10 October. Won an amateur event on turf in August but has not been as sharp since and would be preferred barefoot
- ILLINOIS – Runner-up in a Class G Amateurs’ race at Saint Malo over 2,950m on 27 September. Is patently close to winning another, benefits from a superb entry, and can expect the lion’s share of support
Summary: ILLINOIS (16) has been a model of consistency over recent months and has every chance of winning for the second time at Argentan. IAGO CAYENNAIS (13), who finished second to him at Bernay last month, has been re-shod and also has a strong chance, as does HELBERT FOUTEAU (14), who will enjoy the benefit of front shoes this time. From the first line, the consistent JET SETTER D’AURCY (3), and JERRY PONT VAUTIER (8), provided he keeps his action together, should not be overlooked.

C2 – PRIX SANCHO PANCA – 2875m (a2m) – – Mounted – EUR € 24,000 - KERCADIA BARTH – Disqualified in a Class F at Machecoul over 2,700m on 18 October. Has disappointed for the most part this year and will have few takers
- KANSAS DU RIB – Gave his career-best monte performance at Lisieux in August before being trounced under harness on turf the following month. Comes here fresh, reverts to racing shod, and on good behaviour can pick up some prizemoney
- JAKVAL DES BORDES – Failed to confirm Beaumont performance when 6th in a Class F at Vic-Fezensac over 2,475m on 21 September. Is not devoid of ability but is still not an obvious choice
- IN LOVE WITH PUCH – Disqualified in a Class F Apprentices’ race at Alencon over 2,650m on 18 October. Is not the most generous of horses and can be ignored
- JOLICOEUR D’ATHOS – Runner-up in a Class F Apprentices’ race at Alencon over 2,650m on 18 October. Appears to be back on the right path and a similar performance would see him finish close once more
- HAUGAIN – Unplaced in a harness Class G Amateurs’ race at Bordeaux-Le Bouscat over 2,550m on 18 October. Is not entirely without merit but is not a concern either
- KALIE GEMA – Runner-up in last two, most recently a Class G at La Capelle over 2,750m on 25 October. Starts in front here and is in with a realistic chance of imposing
- IAKARI – Finished 5th in a Class H Amateurs’ race at Bihorel Les Rouen over 2,500m on 4 October. Is one of the more consistent elements in the field, enjoys a fine entry, and is unlikely to let the side down
- KAVALE D’ERQUY – Finished 12th, when preparing for this, in a harness Class F Apprentices’ race at Angers over 3,125m on 18 October. Has been in fine shape for some time and, considering the entry, is easy to like for the win
- HELIA DAIRPET – Previously a good sort but has looked very ordinary in both codes this year and appears to have no possible chance
- JAMES MADRIK – Disqualified in a harness Class E at Le Croise-Laroche over 2,700m on 26 October. Has never shown any particular flair for the discipline and can be ruled out
- JACADI D’ARGILIN – Finished 7th in a harness Class D at Caen over 2,450m on 10 October, a fortnight after having run 2nd in a monte Class D at Caen. Is unlikely to finish close but still has the wherewithal to get a look in
- JACKSON DU CLOS – Ran 6th in a Class F Apprentices’ race at Alencon over 2,650m on 18 October, on first start since the spell. Will have progressed for the run and even from the 2nd row looks a serious proposition
- ICONE PONT VAUTIER – Unplaced in a harness Class E at Cabourg over 2,725m on 24 October. Flopped on sole start in the code and is not about to spice things up
- ICARE D’ACADIE – Capable element making first appearance since being trounced in a Class F at La Ferte-Vidame on 23 August. Shoes fitted and not a threat
- HORIZON D’AMARO – Unplaced in a harness Class D at Strasbourg over 2,800m on 23 October. Has placed just once in 6 monte starts and will have few friends
- IAGO DE SENOVILLE – Unplaced in a Class E at Chartres over 2,800m on 15 October. Has done nothing noteworthy for some time and is unlikely to create an upset
Summary: Racing barefoot following a harness freshener, KAVALE D’ERQUY (9) looks hard to oppose, as does KALIE GEMA (7) based on the strength of her last two outings. JACKSON DU CLOS (13) will have come on for his recent run on turf and looks a place chance this time around. JOLICOEUR D’ATHOS (5) finished ahead of him that day, has been reconfigured, and should again acquit himself competitively. Unseen in the code since 2024, IAKARI (8) will be shod for his return to the discipline and, in current form, is easy to like.

- MARIUS DU CLOS – Unplaced in a Class E at Cabourg over 2,750m on 24 October. Is still being conditioned and best to hold off
- MENEUSE DE HOUELLE – Unplaced in a Class E at Cabourg over 2,750m on 3 October. Has been disappointing since the spring and can be passed over
- MOZAR DE REVE D’OR – Finished 5th in a Class E at Cabourg over 2,750m on 24 October. Presents solid ridden references but may have too much to do this time
- MILLE SOUS GEKA – Finished 4th in a Class E at Cabourg over 2,750m on 31 July. Has not been seen since and, even though well-engaged and sporting a fresh configuration, is not an obvious choice
- LAGON D’ORIENT – Finished 5th in a Class E Apprentices’ race at Cabourg over 2,750m on 14 October. Is not a priority but could pick up a cheque if he replicates his penultimate performance
- MAYA DES GENETS – Starts for the first time since finishing 5th in a Class E at Cabourg over 2,750m on 14 August. Is competitively-shod though and can hold her own
- MANGO PAULO – Sprang a 90-1 surprise when 3rd in a Class B at Graignes over 2,700m on 12 October. Appears to be back on song and a repeat is not out of the question
- MAESTRO DU VOYAGE – Starts for the first time since being disqualified in a Class C at Vincennes over 2,700m on 19 May. Has buckets of ability though and on good behaviour can make first five

- MEANDRE DE VANDEL – Disqualified on comeback in a Class C at Vincennes over 2,700m on 18 September. Has nothing to prove at this level and should logically take all the beating
- MAYA GERBEHAYE – Disqualified in a harness Class C at Vincennes over 2,700m on 16 October. Faces first objective of the meeting and Paul Ploquin can be justifiably confident of a competitive run
- MAURICIO DU DERBY – Finished 7th in a Class C at Vincennes over 2,700m on 18 September. Has done nothing of note since returning to competition and appears to have nothing to offer
- MAZEPPA DU VIVIER – Makes his first appearance since dominating a Class E at Cabourg over 2,750m on 14 August, but clearly means business and can get straight back in the game
Summary: Disqualified at the start on his re-entry, MEANDRE DE VANDEL (12) has the means to set the record straight here. MAZEPPA DU VIVIER (15), not seen since his easy victory at Cabourg on 14 August, and MAYA GERBEHAYE (13), shod as she was last time under the saddle, can fight it out for silver. MANGO PAULO (9) debuts in this discipline with Antonin Andre in the irons and should be taken seriously.

- NATIVE DE PLAY – Third in a Class B at Vincennes over 2,700m on 25 September. Goes well in her current configuration but has the boys to contend with this time

- NEBRASKA DE GINIER – Superb element that finished second in a Class B at Chartres over 2,825m on 15 October, after winning 8 straight. Is confirmed racing clockwise and should take all the beating
Summary: NEBRASKA DE GINIER (15) suffered his first defeat of the year at Chartres mid-month when making his comeback. He will have come on for the run and can wrap this up. From the first echelon, NICE BOY BOURBON (4), excellent in two starts with pads fitted, NIEHKU (10), whose connections could not have hoped for a better entry, and NIRVAGO DE LA COUR (8) who imposed at Reims on 14 October, will all be giving it their best shot.

- MEMPHIS DE BRASSE – Second in a Class B at Reims over 2,550m on 13 September. Comes here fresh and a similar effort would see him contest a place in the frame
- MENTOR DE PLAY – Finished 5th in a Class B at Graignes over 2,700m on 12 October. Is the wealthiest horse here for a reason and Franck Blandin will be keen to prove the point
Summary: Having made a promising comeback at Graignes, the champion MENTOR DE PLAY (11) looks a formidable contender in this Basse-Normandie Final for four year-olds. MAZEL TOV DAIRPET (8), who continues to impress, should not be underestimated. MEMPHIS DE BRASSE (10) ran well at Reims last month and can again figure prominently, as can MINERVE DE VANDEL (4) who is better than her Caen result would suggest..

- LE GRAAL – Serious type that has won the last 4 races he has finished, lastly a Class B at Enghien over 2,875m on 28 September. Gives away 25m this time but still looks up to the task
Summary: A winner at Enghien last month, LE GRAAL (17) looks capable of overcoming the handicap to win this Basse-Normandie Final for five year-olds. LET’S GO MAURICIEN (5), barefoot after his Caen prep, along with LOVING DREAM (16) and LOTUS DU RIB (3), who finished respectively first and third under these conditions on 23 September, have the capability to figure prominently again. In race-mode this time, LOVE GLYCINES (14) will have her chances.

- KOPA VRIE – Finished 5th in a Class D at Vincennes over 2,850m on 13 October. Has otherwise been in excellent form, benefits from a terrific entry, and can challenge for victory this time
Summary: Brilliant winner of his last two starts, KORIOLIS DE ZIETTE (3) can complete the three-timer even though shod this time. However, the ultra-consistent KOPA VRIE (15), and KOBRA JENILOU (8), who also bids for a hat-trick, will have other ideas.
