R1 CABOURG [R-H] C1 – PRIX DES ARNOSERIS – 2750m (a1m1/2) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 29,000  1. JAVA FAST – Like a horse reborn since being associated with Lebourgeois, winning last 2, latterly a 2900m Amiens Class E on 11 July, and the hat-trick is well within her capacity 2. ISEA DU QUENNE – Got back in the winners circle on 22 July, winning a 2850m Mauquenchy Class F, but in this field, will have nothing to offer 3. JOLIE NANA – Unraced since coming 3rd of 11 in a 2800m Rambouillet Class E on 9 June. Has yet to make her mark racing right-handed and is not about to start 4. JEMILLIA BELLA – Has not been seen out since finishing 9th of 11 in a 2100m Vincennes claimer mid-January. Shoes on and no threat 5. JALOUSIE MAZA – Sanctioned in a 2875m Enghien Class D 3 weeks ago. Boasts an 80% win-rate going clockwise and with Benjamin Rochard reining, can extend that percentage 6. JADE VENESI – Ran 2nd at Agen before coming 8th of 14 in a 2800m Bernay Class E early last month. Shod as she was on penultimate start and will be expected to get back in the game 7. JOYCE DREAM – Not without merit but below-par 7th of 8 behind JUNON DE LOU (9) in a 2875m Enghien Class D 3 weeks ago and will need to show marked improvement 8. JACINTHE DU BOIRON – Not once out of first 2 in past 12 months. Runner-up to JAVA FAST (1) in a 2900m Amiens Class E on 11 July and, although unlikely to turn the tables, can still challenge for a place on the podium 9. JUNON DE LOU – Sanctioned in 2 before coming 4th of 8 finishers in a 2875m Enghien Class D on 13 July. Has solid right-handed references and looks competitive for a place in the frame 10. JOYCE DE LA COUR – Faithful servant that came 5th of 11 in a 2200m Le Mans Class D mid-July. Has never shown much liking for Cabourg and represents no more than a minor place prospect 11. JUVENIA DU CLOSET – Last of 9, on re-entry, in a 2675m Class E at Le Mont-Saint-Michel a fortnight ago. Sports a new configuration for return to a track she likes and is not to be overlooked Summary: A fine servant with a terrific record racing right-handed, JALOUSIE MAZA (5) will be expected to bounce back from her Enghien sanction and bring home the bacon. She will still meet resistance from JAVA FAST (1) who is on a hat-trick for Yoann Lebourgeois, and JACINTHE DU BOIRON (8) who has picked up where she left off in the spring. The complicated JUNON DE LOU (9) reassured at Enghien 3 weeks ago and, given her aptitude for racing clockwise, will be no soft touch. SELECTIONS JALOUSIE MAZA (5) – JAVA FAST (1) – JACINTHE DU BOIRON (8) – JUNON DE LOU (9) C2 – PRIX DES HETRES – 2750m (a1m1/2) – Class A Race – Harness – EUR € 45,000  1. JOCKEY – Somewhat unlucky but still never up to the task when sanctioned in a Class D over course and distance a week ago. Hind shoes off this time but still appears to be out of his depth 2. JASMIN DU VALLON – 3rd of 9 in a Class D over course and distance a fortnight ago. Takes on a better bunch this time but is plainly in form and is unlikely to go home empty-handed 3. JAB DE MYE – Unremarkable sort that finished last but one in a 2875m Enghien Class B 2 weeks ago and will have few friends 4. JASON DU CONROY – Last of 11 finishers in Bernay race of reference. Has other priorities and will have nothing to contribute 5. JOYCE DELTO – 3rd of 9 in a 2475m Royan Class E mid-July. Newly-configured for a big step up in category but is unlikely to spring any surprises 6. JE REVE DU BOIS – Has not been seen out since coming 2nd of 12 in a 2850m Vincennes Class B early-April. Has solid right-handed references, sports front pads for re-entry, and should give a competitive account 7. JET EXPRESS – Notable 5th of 11 in a 2875m Enghien Gr.3 on 6 July. Untried at this level but has references against many of these and, given the stable’s form, is not to be underestimated 8. JUST FOR BACK – 8th of 11, behind JAG STRYCK (11), in Bernay race of reference. Preparing for a campaign under the saddle though and can be passed over 9. JAZZMAN DEBAILLEUL – Unraced since winning a 2850m Vincennes Gr.2 3 months ago, but thrives with Franck Nivard, has never disappointed at Cabourg, and will take all the beating 10. JASPER DES CHARMES – Sanctioned in last 4, most recently a 2800m Bernay Class B freshener last weekend. New pilot at the controls and must be taken more seriously this time around 11. JAG STRYCK – Quality element that did not displease when 5th of 11 finishers in a 2800m Bernay Class B last Sunday. Has come close more than once at this level, came 2nd on lone start here, and is not going to be far off the mark 12. JACK TONIC – Reassuring 2nd of 11 finishers in 2175m Gr.2 Prix Jean le Gonidec early-June after having been disqualified in Prix Albert Demarcq. Incurs the penalty but still looks principal danger to JAZZMAN DEBAILLEUL (9) Summary: An absolute revelation this season, JAZZMAN DEBAILLEUL (9) makes his first appearance since winning the Gr.2 Prix Albert Demarcq 3 months ago and has every chance of pulling off the 6-timer. That being said, JACK TONIC (12) is an exceptional campaigner when focused, comes here fresh and, even from the 2nd line, looks the main threat. JET EXPRESS (7) may not be an obvious choice considering his recent numbers but he has proven form against a number of these and looks an interesting candidate. The Gr.1-winning, and barefoot, JASPER DES CHARMES (10) has been struggling with stride issues lately but the engagement of Yoann Lebourgeois may be just the ticket to his redemption. SELECTIONS JAZZMAN DEBAILLEUL (9) – JACK TONIC (12) – JET EXPRESS (7) – JASPER DES CHARMES (10) C3 – PRIX DES HELIANTHES – 2750m (a1m1/2) – Class F Amateur Riders Race – Mounted – EUR € 24,000  1. COMAND – Makes first appearance under the saddle after coming 2nd of 10 in a 3025m Luçon Class F on 21 July. Hind shoes off but still appears to be facing a stiff test 2. IQUEM NARCY – Capricious sort that reassured when 3rd in a 2875m Meslay-du-Maine Class G on 21 July and, with application, is unlikely to disappoint 3. ISIDORE BONHEUR – Has 3 times failed to confirm his Cavaillon success, latterly 7th of 10 in a 2850m Bréhal Class E on Monday and, even reverting to a previous formula, will still need to find more 4. HATE YOU BEYLEV – Made it 2 in a row when successful in a 2850m Mauquenchy Class H on 22 July. Races shod this time but can still put on a good show. Place chance 5. HONNEUR DE BRY – 8th of 11 in a 2475m Royan Class G 12 days ago. Sports a new configuration but others still preferred 6. ICARE DU TRESOR – Missed out by little in a Class F over course and distance mid-July. Hard to knock in the day’s configuration and will be expected to give INDIGO BEACH (7) a run for his money 7. INDIGO BEACH – Secured the hat-trick in a 3100m La Gacilly Class H on 21 July. Has hardly put a foot wrong since early-May and it is difficult to envisage him being bested 8. IBILI D’OCCAGNES – Has returned to competition in fine shape, most recently 2nd of 8 in a 2750m Class F at La Capelle on 9 July. Front shoes off this time and can play a leading role if Inès Fraigne keeps him trotting 9. GISARO – Sprang a 156/1 surprise when 6th of 16 in a competitive Class E over course and distance 3 weeks ago, and is not incapable of repeating 10. HIDALGO DAIRPET – Sports 4 pads for the first time after faulting in a 2875m Meslay-du-Maine Class G on 21 July, and has no possible chance Summary: A veritable steamroller over the past 3 months, INDIGO BEACH (7) came 2nd under these conditions before winning 3 on the trot, and is an obvious preference here. Andrea Roussel will still be expecting opposition from the fine ICARE DU TRESOR (6) who is clearly close to his race, and the omnipresent IBILI D’OCCAGNES (8) who will be dangerous if he stays in stride. HATE YOU BEYLEV (4) steps up in category in search of the 3-timer and although unlikely to pull it off with shoes back on, should nevertheless figure prominently. SELECTIONS INDIGO BEACH (7) – ICARE DU TRESOR (6) – IBILI D’OCCAGNES (8) – HATE YOU BEYLEV (4) C4 – PRIX DES LYCOPODES – 2750m (a1m1/2) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 37,000  1. HANDZARO DU BOCAGE – Placed 4 times in succession before coming 6th of 11 in a 2650m Pornichet Class E 2 weeks ago and, in this company, is unlikely to ruffle any feathers 2. GARD – On a decent run of form this summer, and sports modified shoeing, but will need to improve on recent 6th to HASARD D’ERABLE (11) in a 2850m Bréhal Class E on 22 July 3. HEMERA TURGOT – Pleases occasionally but off the boil for some time, most recently sanctioned in a 2900m Clairefontaine Class E late last month, and can be ruled out 4. HORACIO DE CERISY – 8th of 12 in a 2150m Enghien amateurs Class F a month ago. Starts in front, with a leading driver at the helm, and has a realistic chance of making the frame this time 5. HEMILIO PIERJI – Last but one in a 2150m Mauquenchy Class E last week. Hard to fault when racing clockwise though and makes his Cabourg debut with a realistic chance of picking up a first-5 cheque 6. GIGI DES NEUF CLOS – Excellent in 3 before oddly flopping to last of 15 in a 2800m Vichy Class F on 2 July. Most likely a blip on the radar and will be expected to bounce back and finish in the mix 7. HABIBI – 2nd in an amateur event here before coming 4th of 9 in a 2900m Amiens Class F a fortnight ago. Yoann Lebourgeois reining this time and will be no easy touch 8. GOOD FRIEND – Unplaced in last 6 starts, latterly 6th of 14 in a 2600m Le Touquet Class F last Sunday, and will need to raise his game…
