    Summary: PEARL HARBOUR (5) has posted two solid efforts of late, including a respectable fourth at Le Croisé-Laroche earlier this month, and looks ready to bounce back to winning ways. MOASA (11), a last-time-out winner at the same venue in a Class 4 handicap, is a key threat. KATHALINA (12), well-weighted, appeals as a solid each-way option, while PARMENIDE (6) is another to consider seriously.

  32. PENNY DE CERISY – 5th on her last run, 3rd before that over 1900m in a Class 3 handicap on March 31st at Chantilly. Ought to be thereabouts
    Summary: In a wide-open handicap, it may pay to side with one towards the bottom of the weights. ALPHA SPIRIT (13) has been in good form, winning two starts ago and finishing a close second over 1600m at Nantes in late March. He gets the nod ahead of PLATINE (14), who broke her maiden last time and should remain competitive. PENNY DE CERISY (16), running off bottom weight, makes solid each-way appeal, while PIANTARELLA (1) looks the best of the remainder.

    Summary: EAGLEHAWK (10) will be in a good frame of mind after a confidence-boosting win at Chantilly in late March. He can edge this over ABISOLA (9), who was fourth on the PSF three runs back in February and is still lightly raced. NOVA HOPE (1) got off the mark on her latest start earlier this month at Le Croise-Laroche and can make the top four. MAGIC STARS (15) was a decent second at Fontainebleau recently and warrants respect.

    Summary: TOLEBI (3) looked a smart prospect when breaking his maiden at Saint-Cloud on just his second start earlier this month and is taken to continue his upward curve. ZALARI (1), an impressive six-length winner on the PSF last time, also looks highly promising and rates the main danger. CHAMPAGNE POWDER (6), a solid runner-up at Compiègne in late March, appeals as the best each-way option. EPSON BLUE CEN (8) returns from a break, having signed off last season with a Class 2 win, and should be ready to go.

MELLOW YELLOW (7) rates the main danger following two solid handicap efforts at Chantilly, including a runner-up finish over 1400m on March 17th after scoring in February. EKLAIRDEGENY (3) arrives in winning form after a Chantilly success and should be involved again, while UPPERCUT (9) is another to keep in mind.

    Summary: NAMOURIA (7) was a solid runner-up at Saint-Cloud last September and, despite the break, should be ready to go—she gets the nod here. LE LAVANDOU (2) shaped well when sixth in a Class 3 handicap at the same venue in late March and is a danger. EARENDEL (6) is talented on her day and shouldn’t be overlooked, while COSMIC FRONT (1) arrives in form and is likely to come on for her recent run at Nantes.

    Summary: CENTRAL PARK WEST (3) has been performing well on the PSF in stronger company and landed a Class 1 race at Cagnes-sur-Mer in late January on his penultimate outing. He is preferred to DSCHINGIS DREAM (4), who ran fourth in a Class 3 handicap at Lyon-Parilly in mid-March. ALPAGE (7) comes into this off a claiming win on the PSF and could be in the mix again. KINGSALE (6) also makes the shortlist.

  92. PARACHUTISTE – Looks like a smart colt, he won by 2.5L on April 4th at Saint-Cloud over 2100m in a maiden on his second start. Up in class and will be hard to beat
  93. GALICIANO – Creditable 4th on his last run over 1800m at Fontainebleau in a maiden on April 12th. Might find a few of these too smart
    Summary: A small field but a competitive race. PARACHUTISTE (4) won by an easy 2.5L on his second start over 2100m at Saint-Cloud earlier this month and can improve for that win. He is the marginal choice over ZEKRET (1), who won on debut last year and ran well on his seasonal return when fourth in a Class 1 race on April 4th. He looked in need of the race and will strip fitter today. KIRCHNER (2) ran a fair race when fourth in a Class 1 last time and looks best of the others.

    Summary: THE DOCTOR (14) has hit the frame in all of his starts and now returns for his second handicap, looking well-treated to finally get off the mark. AVENTINO (11) also looks fairly handicapped and could make things competitive. CITY TOWN (15) hasn’t figured since her Deauville win but remains capable of grabbing a place. PRINCESSE MANDEL (16) gets in at the foot of the weights and is worth keeping safe, while FAME (10) is another who shouldn’t be dismissed lightly.

ITALIENNE IDEF (2) is no superstar but she is consistent and has the assistance of top-driver Gabriele Gelormini, which is a big plus. INES D’IDEF (10) reassured in her last start and has an each-way chance. INSERT BOY (3) has enough credentials to think that he can get involved too.

  3. KING DE CHANLECY – Returns to a track he appreciates after being sanctioned in a 2700m Vincennes Class E earlier in the month. Takes on a tough bunch of horses though and is unlikely to rock the boat
  4. KELMONDO BOY – Won a 3200m Vannes Class F on re-entry 11 days ago. Steps back up in category, with morale intact, and is not incapable of bringing home the bacon
  5. KOKO MARBOULA – Disappointing so far this term, latterly sanctioned in a 3250m Saumur Class F on 30 March, and will struggle to make his presence felt
  6. KING TURGOT – Sanctioned on return to competition in a 2875m Argentan Class E on 19 March. Is never far from faulting and is no great fan of Laval, but can surprise and should not be ruled out
  7. KILOU – Pleased on Caen comeback before faulting in a 2875m Argentan Class E on 19 March. Has merit but may just be taking on too much
  8. KEOPS DES HAUBOIS – Last but one, on re-entry, in a 2150m Enghien Class E a week ago. Is patently better than that, likes Laval, and if focused will take all the beating
  9. KLARCK DE VANDEL – Last of 12 when being prepared for this in a 2150m Enghien Class E a week ago. Is confirmed in the category and barefoot this time is not to be underestimated
    Summary: Sent for a spell after running 2nd under these conditions, KEOPS DES HAUBOIS (8) lost all chance at the start on re-entry but is plainly a horse of significant ability and Anthony Dollion can be justifiably confident of setting the record straight. He will nonetheless be watching out for KELMONDO BOY (4) who made a victorious return to the track, and KADO SURPRISE (1) who has returned to racing left-handed with ample success. KLARCK DE VANDEL (9) is plainly better than recent numbers would suggest and is back barefoot with a good hand to play.

  18. JOIE D’AMOUR – Returned to winning ways 10 days ago when easily securing a 2150m Argentan amateurs Class G. Takes on a better lot this time but is in sufficiently good form to make first 5
  19. JASMINE DE JYR – Showed improvement at Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne earlier in the month when 3rd of 15 in a 2675m Class F. Gets on well with her driver and should not be overlooked

    Summary: A tough nut to crack when unshod, JANE CASH (13) returns to a successful formula, at a track she appreciates, and may just have the edge over JOCKEY (5) who sports front pads for his hat-trick bid. Wonderfully-entered at the limit of earnings, and plainly in shape, JAMAICA DE LOU (16) has been similarly-shod and is unlikely to disappoint. JERICHO DU RIB (15) has a race under his belt and, if applied, can figure prominently.

  35. IDEAL DU NOYER – Met little opposition on re-entry when successful in a 2550m Reims Class D a fortnight ago. Will have come on for the run and a repeat is well within his capacity

  40. FIDELIO DU LOISIR – Back under the saddle after finishing 9th of 11 in a 2600m Parilly harness claimer 2 weeks ago. Has yet to deliver at Laval but enjoys an excellent entry and does not make the trip just to see the sights
    Summary: As consistent as they come when racing barefoot, IDEAL DU NOYER (10) comfortably imposed on re-entry at Reims and even racing with 4 pads for the first time still looks good enough to double up. That said, VASTERBO IMTHEMAN (7) has taken to the discipline like a fish to swimming and makes his Laval debut with a lot to offer. The same can be said of Italian import ZANZA FRANK (4) who ran 3rd to Marc Sassier’s horse on his own return to competition. Consistently in the thick of things when applied, HANDSOME BOY (12) has previously imposed here with hind shoes off and is easy to recommend for a place on the podium.

    Summary: A course-and-distance winner two months ago, HUNT (10) did not miss out by much at Amiens next time and will be expected to leave Laval 3 for 3. INDIGO PIERJI (3) was unlucky behind him that day but nevertheless showed his form and will be no pushover if Matthieu Abrivard keeps him focused. GLYCINA BELLA (14) has never let the side down when barefoot here and is not about to start. HOLD UP RANAIS (9) has taken little time getting back in shape and placed on lone appearance in the day’s configuration.

  65. LYNX GRIFF – 6th of 13 behind LEON DE L’AUNAY (5) in a 2725m Graignes Class E on comeback earlier this month. Has already imposed here, sports a fresh configuration, and can pick up a cheque
  66. LOVING DREAM – Starts for first time since running 6th of 16 in a 3000m Nantes Class E late-January. Shoes on and will need the race
  67. L’AMIRAL SACHA – 2nd on re-entry 3 weeks ago before inheriting (a deserved) success in a 2800m Chartres Class F 10 days later. Goes well for Benjamin Rochard and will be expected to challenge for a place on the podium
    Summary: LEADER DE HOUELLE (8) has done nothing but improve since returning to competition, thrashed the opposition last time out, and has a realistic chance of repeating. Loïc Guinoiseau will still be keeping a watchful eye on the complicated LOVE DE CERIZE (6) who could well have won here late last month had he kept trotting, and LIPTON DU VIVIER (4) who, even though shod, can still give this a good go. A model of consistency, L’AMIRAL SACHA (11) enjoys a fine engagement and despite the hike in category still looks a leading protagonist.

  75. LADIVINA – Pleasant 4th of 9 finishers, on re-entry, in a 2725m Graignes Class E on 13 April. Is not about to cause an upset but, competitively-shod, should nevertheless hold her own
  76. LAQUILA WOOD – Unraced since being sanctioned in a 2175m Vincennes Class E in early-February. Has been reconfigured for the occasion, has evident ability, and with stride in cheque is unlikely to let the side down. First 5
  77. LADY D’IDEF – Ran 2nd here late-February but trounced next time when last of 11 in a 2450m Caen Class E on 13 March, and can be ruled out
  78. LAURIANE DU RIED – Unremarkable 8th of 12 in a 2700m Vincennes Class E mid-month and will have nothing to contribute
  79. LOLLIPOP DU CEBE – Made up for a pair of sanctions when successful in a 2800m Pontchateau Class E last week. Is head-and-shoulders better than most here and on good behaviour can wrap this up
  80. LOVE PROFUSION – 9th of 15 in a 2100m Vincennes Class D mid-February. Remains shod for comeback and best to keep one’s powder dry
  81. LUDMILLA HAUFOR – Runner-up in last 2, latterly a 2750m Class E at La Capelle 2.5 weeks ago. Is patently close to getting off the mark and must be considered a leading contender
    Summary: She may not be the easiest of horses to handle but LOLLIPOP DU CEBE (12) showed at Pontchateau recently what she can do when focused and Benjamin Rochard will be eager to confirm Mathieu Mottier’s score. Well-entered close to the threshold, LUDMILLA HAUFOR (14) is plainly close to her race and, barefoot for the first time at Laval, looks a serious proposition. Although new to the venue, LILIE D’OMAHA (7) has been transformed since starting to race barefoot and is unlikely to be far off the mark. LYNDA CASTEL (2) would have encountered little opposition at Reims had she stayed in stride and the fresh configuration may be just the ticket.

  86. KANTHABELLA – Disappointing so far this term, most recently 9th of 12 behind KOALA (12) in a 2700m Vincennes Class C last week. Out of the picture so far this term and must get her house in order
  87. KID DES MOLLES – 10th of 12 behind KOALA (12) in a 2700m Vincennes Class C last week and will need to pull a rabbit out of a hat
  88. KING OF JIEL – Raced better in a 2700m Vincennes Class C last week than his 7th of 12 behind KOALA (12) would suggest. Benjamin Rochard in the bike this time and looks a decent first-5 prospect
  89. JACKPOT DU CHOQUEL – Last of 7 on re-entry in a 2825m Chartres Class G 11 days ago. Barefoot this time but others still easier to like
  90. KOBALT DU VALLON – 3rd of 14 behind KALINA PRINCESS (10) in a 2200m Vincennes Class D 3 weeks ago. Is clearly firing on all cylinders and has a decent chance of trotting his way onto the podium
  91. KALINA PRINCESS – 2nd of 14 in a 2200m Vincennes Class D 3 weeks ago. Has taken to the discipline like a cat to cream and Eric Raffin would be wise to be wary. Chance
  92. JOSS CAPELLO – Makes first appearance since clinching a 2925m Cagnes Class D on 27 February. Stays shod but can still pick up some prizemoney
  93. KOALA – Quality element that ran a good 5th of 12 in a 2700m Vincennes Class C last week, on first start for 2 months. Will be race-fit and can make this his own
  94. JOYAU DE JANZE – 4th of 10 in a 2175m Vincennes Class E on 8 April. Seldom disappoints when focused and even in the presence of 5yo’s can still make a big impact
    Summary: A hardy campaigner with nothing to prove at this level, KOALA (12) was by no means disgraced on his Vincennes comeback and, reunited with Eric Raffin who excels with him, can get straight back down to business. Excellent in all three ridden starts, and sporting 4 pads for the first time, KALINA PRINCESS (10) went close in Paris 3 weeks ago and looks the main danger. Ideally-entered, JOYAU DE JANZE (13) is always game, has solid Laval credentials, and will be shod to preference this time. A place behind Estelle Croisic’s horse earlier this month, KOBALT DU VALLON (9) deserves to be rewarded with victory one of these days.

  98. MARIOLE – Bit off more than he could chew when last but one in a 2200m Vincennes monte Class D on 8 April. Placed on lone harness start though and merits significant respect
  99. MINUTY DU GERS – Was unable to confirm his Royan debut effort when sanctioned in a 2200m Pontchateau Class E last week. Subsequently showed his form though and, with application, can trot off with the silverware
  100. MONZON DU CHATELET – Pulled-up in a 2700m Graignes Class F a month ago. Trainer back in the wagon and others preferred
  101. MANOUCHE – Ran 2nd of 14, at 54/1, in a 2725m Lisieux Class F 11 days ago and a similar performance would see him compete for a first-3 place
  102. MORPHEUS DU LOISIR – 2nd only to a good Duvaldestin horse on debut in a 2750m Class F at La Capelle on 23 March. Looks a progressive sort and can make a big splash
  103. MAESTRO DE DUSSAC – 4th in all 3 starts to date, most recently a 2675m Lisieux Class F late last month. Not a contender but will have his supporters
  104. MOONLIGHT DANICA – Placed in last 2, most recently 3rd of 7 finishers in a 2200m Tours Class F 11 days ago. Not a priority but could still get a look-in
  105. MALIUM – 4th on debut here before coming 2nd of 13 in a 3225m Fougeres Class G a month ago. Appears to have considerable potential and Anthony Barrier will be eager to prove the point
  106. MASSILIO BLOND – Won a Le Mans claimer before finishing last of 8 behind MAJESTIC DU KLAU (13) in a 2725m Graignes Class E earlier in the month, and already looks out of his depth
  107. MAJESTIC DU KLAU – Placed at Challans before running 6th of 8 finishers in a 2725m Graignes Class E earlier in the month. Matthieu Abrivard at the helm this time but still no more than a minor place chance
    Summary: After leaving a fine impression on his debut, MINUTY DU GERS (5) lost his action just 10 days later, but plainly displayed his form and can win this if he keeps his mind on the game. Beaten only by a very good horse first time out, MORPHEUS DU LOISIR (8) comes to a track he should appreciate and it would be no surprise were he to lose his maiden status. MALIUM (11) made significant improvement at Fougeres last month and benefits from already have raced here. MANOUCHE (7) confirmed his good qualification when placing at Lisieux first time out and deserves to be taken seriously.
