C1 – PRIX D’EFFIAT – 2950m (a2m) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 25,000

  1. MUSE DE VANDEL – Disappointing form this year and was 6th last time out in Class E at Cavaillon over 2525m on 8 April. Needs to find a few lengths to win
  2. MAN CITY – Only modest form of late and finished 6th in Class E at Lyon-Parilly over 2000m on 27 April. Needs to find a few lengths to win
  3. MESTA ATALANTE – Disqualified twice in her last three starts, with the latest being at Lyon-Parilly on 14 April. Capable of a surprise if wise
  4. MONTROSE VERGNIER – Not disgraced when fourth in Class E at Reims over 2550m on 9 April. Can be competitive in this line-up
  5. MELIDIAN – Yet to win a race but did show improvement when runner-up in a claimer at Neuillé-Pont-Pierre over 3025m on 27 April. More is needed to beat these rivals
  6. MILAZZO – Not at all disgraced when fourth in Class C at Lyon-Parilly over 2850m on 14 April. Capable of getting into the mix of things once again
  7. MIDORIYA DU BOURG – Has struggled this year and was 8th in Class C at Lyon-Parilly over 2850m on 14 April. Needs major improvement to win
  8. MEXICO – Unreliable but was fourth last time out in Class D at Castillonnès over 2450m on 27 April. More is needed to beat these rivals
  9. MELODIE D’AMOUR – Went one better second time around when scoring in Class E at Argentan over 2800m on 14 April. Looks promising and can follow up
  10. MIMI WILLIAMS – Very consistent so far and was runner-up in Class D at Saint-Galmier over 2600m on 5 March. Be right there at the finish once again
  11. MYSTIQUE LADY – Did not show her best when when 6th in Class C at Vincennes over 2100m on 20 December. Capable of better and has a winning chance
  12. MONSEIGNEUR – Very consistent and was third in Class D at Saint-Galmier over 2600m on 5 March. Can contest the finish yet again
    Summary: MELODIE D’AMOUR (9) impressed with her win at Argentan, and that sets the standard for this opening event. MYSTIQUE LADY (11) was disappointing in a couple of her runs at Vincennes but can bounce back to be a threat to these rivals. MIMI WILLIAMS (10) has done little wrong in her three starts so far and can contest the finish again. MONTROSE VERGNIER (4) is well bred but may prefer a shorter distance than this at the moment.

  16. ILEX DE CABERT – Very unreliable but was not disgraced when fourth in a Mounted race at Tours over 2800m on 13 April. Hard to trust but can contest the finish when wise
  17. I LOVE ELDE – Clearly needed her only run of the year when unplaced in a Class H Mounted race at Carpentras over 9 March. Might need this run as well
  18. JUPITER PLANCHETTE – Has disqualification issues but is also hat-trick seeking after some good wins, the latest in a Class G Mounted race at Beaumont-de-Lomagne over 2550m on 28 April. Can complete the treble
  19. IX THE BEST – Disqualified in his last two starts, with the latest being at Royan La Palmyre on 21 April. Battling to find best form and others are preferred
  20. FLAMBEUR ROYAL – Has disqualification issues and faulted last time out at Royan La Palmyre on 21 April. Capable of better but others make more appeal
  21. JOBALASKO BLEU – Disqualified in his last three starts, the latest at Lyon Parilly on 20 April. Capable of a surprise back to a Mounted race
  22. HIDE AND SEEK – Has really struggled this year and was 13th in a Class F harness race at Paray-le-Monial over 2625m on 21 April. Needs major improvement to win
  23. IDEAL DE BANNES – Not easy to trust but was victorious last time out in a Class D Mounted race at Salon-de-Provence over 3000m on 26 March. Has disqualification issues but can follow up
  24. IMAIL DE CARSI – Has disqualification issues but was a good fourth last time out in a Class D Mounted race at Maure-de-Bretagne over 2850m on 23 April. Can contest the finish again
  25. JEDI DES BROUETS – Disappointing form of late and finished 7th in a Class F harness race at Bordeaux-Le Bouscat over 2650m on 14 April. Needs to do a bit more to beat these rivals
  26. HILLONA DE NESLE – Has struggled in some harness races of late and was unplaced last time out in Class E at Cherbourg over 2625m on 21 April. Did win her last Mounted race and can bounce back to score
    Summary: JUPITER PLANCHETTE (6) has been an improved sort this year and has every chance of completing a hat-trick after some solid recent wins. IMAIL DE CARSI (12) has disqualification issues, but he is consistent under the saddle and should be right there at the finish yet again. IDEAL DE BANNES (11) is not as reliable as the other two selections, but he did win a good race at Salon-de-Provence and is not out of it. HILLONA DE NESLE (14) is clearly better in mounted races, so her last two harness performances can be safely ignored.

  31. ISTINGA BOCAIN – Bounced back to form with a Class F win at Toulouse over 2950m on 4 April. Has disqualification issues but can follow up this shorter distance
  32. GIANA DE CAZOULENE – Showed what she is capable of with a Class F win at Beaumont-de-Lomagne over 2400m on 21 April. Can double up if she is in the same mood
  33. INES DE FAEL – Knocking very hard at the door with some runner-up performances, the latest in Class G at Ecommoy over 2750m on 20 April. Can go one better this time
  34. HERMINE DU FAN – Only modest of late and was 6th in Class E at Cordemais over 2825m on 20 April. Needs to do a bit more to beat these rivals
  35. ISTRIA – Has struggled this year and finished 8th last time out in Class F at La Capelle over 2700m on 21 April. Others are much preferred
  36. ISCHIA SAINT CLAIR – Unreliable but did not run too badly when fourth in Class F at Lyon-Parilly over 2600m on 10 April. Could be the surprise package this distance
  37. ISEA DE SAINT MARC – Has been a disppointment of late and was tenth last time out in Class F at Châtelaillon-La Rochelle over 2625m on 1 May. Capable of an upset on best form
  38. IDOLE DE BEYLEV – In very good form this year and was runner-up last time out in Class F at Angers over 3125m on 2 April. Drops in distance but is not out of it
  39. HAVANA BELLA – Disqualified last time out at Castillonnès on 30 March. Unreliable but is capable of earning some money when in the right mood
    Summary: ISTINGA BOCAIN (5) was a good winner at Toulouse under Matthieu Abrivard and can double up by taking this race as well. INES DE FAEL (7) remains barefoot, is threatening to win a race, and deserves the utmost respect over this distance. GIANA DE CAZOULENE (6) was a barefoot winner last time out, but this does look a tougher race for her. INFLUENCE JULRY (2) has not been reliable this year, but she could shine.

  45. HOLD UP DREAM – Needed his only run of the year when 6th in Class E at Cholet over 2800m on 21 April. Barefoot and fitter this time. Can upset
  46. IDOLE OF LOVE – Probably needed her only run of the year when 7th in E at Cholet over 2800m on 21 April. Fitter this time but others make more appeal
  47. HEROS D’YVEL – Has lost his way and was 11th in Class E at Cavaillon over 2600m on 26 April. Needs to find a few lengths to beat these rivals
  48. IL VIENT DU LUDE – Very consistent this year and was runner-up last time out in Class D at Lyon-Parilly over 2000m on 27 April. Can fight out the finish again
  49. FALKO DE NOUVILLE – Only moderate form of late and was 7th in Class E at Cavaillon over 2600m on 26 April. Battling to find best form and others make more appeal
  50. FERRERO DU LOISIR – Disqualified last time out at Pontchâteau on 16 April. Did better in a Mounted race in his penultimate start but others are much preferred
  51. HIP HOP SENOVILLE – Much improved and was victorious last time out in Class D at Marseille-Borely over 3000m on 18 April. Not barefoot this time and others are preferred
  52. FLASH MONEY – Unreliable and was 8th in Class D at Lyon-La Soie over 2700m on 30 January. Can need this run returning from a short break
  53. HISTOIRE PHILS – Disappointing form this year and was 6th last time out in Class D at Lyon-Parilly over 2850m on 20 April. Likes this course and can make the frame
  54. HAPPY FACE – Disqualified in his last two starts, the latest being at Vitre on 27 April. Capable of contesting the finish when wise
  55. GAMIN DES ISLES – Remains in good shape and was 5th in a Group 3 at Maure-de-Bretagne over 2850m on 23 April. Big chance in this line-up
    Summary: GAMIN DES ISLES (16) was not disgraced when fifth in the Group 3 at Maure-de-Bretagne over 2850m last month. That form looks the best on offer in this race, and he had some nice runs leading into that as well. IL VIENT DU LUDE (9) has already won twice this year at a lower grade but is not out of it. HAPPY FACE (15) has disappointed with a couple of recent disqualifications but does have ability and could contest the finish if behaving. HISTOIRE PHILS (14) likes this track but is on a long losing run.

    Summary: IF BLEU (8) clearly needed his only run of the year. His last two wins came with this shoe combination, and he can bounce back to score over this shorter distance. HAPPY DE TOUCHYVON (2) is barefoot this time, so he’s clearly better than his last run suggests. HOLYFIELD SPORT (3) has shown mixed form this year but is capable of getting involved in the finish when in the right mood. IVANHOE PAULOIS (5) has won his last two starts and is another who deserves respect.

JYPSON KALOUMA (11) is barefoot this time, so look for a much-improved performance. JASON BLUE (3) showed vast improvement at Écommoy and could go one better this time.

    Summary: A very tough lucky last race in which to try and find a winner. KENOR DESBOIS (16) has disqualification issues but got close to winning last time out and can go one better. KENTUCKY SOMOLLI (15) has a good record when away from Vincennes and should be very competitive in this line-up. KEEP COOL (8) clearly needed his last run, but he is barefoot this time and poses a danger to these rivals. KENZA KALOUMA (10) is best judged on her penultimate start win and is another to consider.

  3. LOVE ME BAIE – Finished 2nd in a Conditions race for three-year-olds AQPS at Ajaccio in September last year. Faces much stronger this time
  4. LILI DE BERSY – This filly followed up an excellent debut win with a second place in a Conditions race over 2300m at Senonnes on 12 April. The one to beat
  5. LEA KALEO – A 5 1/2 length winner of her second start in a Conditions race over 2350m at Haras Du PIn on 13 April and stands out as the main danger
  6. LOVERBOY DESLITAUX – A well-beaten third last in a Conditions Race over 2850m at Loudeac on 12 April and will need to improve to feature in this event
  7. LADY DIVINE – Finished 5th last time in a Conditions race over 2300m at Senonnes but looks well held by LILI DE BERSY (4)
  8. LAMBADA – An improved 3rd when a 3.50 length third in a Conditions race for 4 year old AQPS fillies over 2400m at Le Lion D’Angers on 20 April. Further progress expected
    Summary: LILI DE BERSY (4) is an improving filly who has run well in her two races so far and looks ideally distance suited. KARRINGTON (8) faulted last time but has already won a couple of times this year—one of them with this shoeing combination—so he could be a serious threat. KILL AND KISS (11) has won over this course and distance recently and is not out of it. KRACKSMAN (10) is hard to rely on but is capable of winning.

    Summary: KALMIA BOSS (8) has struck a purple patch of form and won nicely at Laval in March. She can follow up if reproducing that level of form. She showed improvement when barefoot over this track and trip and remains a lively danger unshod. KAROLINE CADE (7) is looking to end a long losing streak but can be competitive when behaving. KENTIA HAUFOR (3) was a barefoot winner last time out but is very unreliable.

    Summary: MALIGNO (3) looked good in his qualification at Caen and was only beaten by a good one on debut. He can go one better and win this lucky last race. MONSIEUR DE VORE (7) beat a good sort when winning on the grass on debut and could be anything. MOON WALKER (5) is very hard to trust but is quite capable of being in the mix if behaving this time. MIMI DE VAL (4) showed improvement second time out and is another to consider.
