Fine Form
Venetian Sun NM – 4.35

can add another big prize to her collection in the Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai July Cup Stakes at Newmarket.
The Starman filly has already amassed in excess of £800,000 in prize-money and can again strike on the July course.
The Karl Burke-trained three-year-old failed to stay on her seasonal reappearance in the 1000 Guineas, but she put that right next time out in the Sandy Lane Stakes at Haydock, coming home three lengths clear of Division.
She was made to work harder in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot, albeit in the final reckoning she might have been a cosy winner at the line. And while this is her toughest task to date taking on her elders, she is unbeaten at sprint trips and it will take a good performance to stop her.
Abraham Lincoln NM – 4.00
can take his unbeaten record to two in the Boodles Superlative Stakes.
The Wootton Bassett colt made a winning start at the Curragh last month, running on well to get the better of stablemate Haffner (who runs in the opener) by a length and three-quarters.
Aidan O’Brien said afterwards “he’s probably classy”.
Great Acclaim NM – 3.25
can put a series of near-misses behind him in the Betway Bunbury Cup.
Dropped back to seven furlongs after disappointing in the Lincoln, the five-year-old was only a half-length back in third in a valuable Haydock handicap and he was then a length second behind The Wizard Of Eye in the Victoria Cup at Ascot.
A close third in the Buckingham Palace Stakes at the Royal meeting, he was only raised 2lb can get himself back on the winning trail.
Machadadorp NM – 2.15
can complete a hat-trick when she steps into handicap company for the first time in the HKJC Worldpool Fillies’ Handicap.
The daughter of Mehmas was 10 lengths down in third when she made her debut at Ascot but dropped in grade she made amends at Chester, keeping on to shed her maiden tag.
She followed that up next time out at Wetherby and a hat-trick is there for the taking for the Andrew Balding-trained filly off an opening mark of 86.
Warrant Holder YO – 3.45
can strike for the King and Queen in the John Smith’s Cup at York.
The Frankel gelding was successful in a handicap on the Knavesmire in May before being stepped up in distance at Royal Ascot in the Duke of Edinburgh Stakes.
He was beaten into second by Opportunity that day but back to 10 furlongs he can get back in the winner’s enclosure.
American Affair YO – 3.12
can put a disappointing Ascot run behind him in the John Smith’s City Walls Stakes.
The six-year-old never ran his race in the King Charles III Stakes and trailed home last of the 26 runners, 14 lengths behind eventual victory Mission Central.
But a line can be drawn through that run and a return to the Knavesmire where he came out on top in a valuable handicap last summer can bring out the best in him.
More Thunder AS – 2.27
can put a pair of silver-medal finishes behind him in the Juddmonte Summer Mile Stakes at Ascot.
William Haggas’ five-year-old was a two-length second to Notable Speech in the Lockinge and again had to settle for second behind Ten Bob Tony in the Queen Anne Stakes at Ascot. Having his sights lowered can help him get his nose back in front.
