C1 – PRIX DE LA VILLE DE SAINT GRATIEN – 2875m (a2m) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 46,000
1. JAGUAR D’HERMES – Left a fine, but surprising, impression on comeback when 2nd in a 2625m Class E at Châtelaillon-La Rochelle on 24 March. Barefoot this time and will have his supporters
2. JUSTE SNOB – Disappointing 10th in race of reference. Has however won 2 from 3 when fitted with just front pads and can get a look-in
3. JEUNE AMI – Runner-up to JUST FOR FUN (4) at Meslay-du-Maine before coming 3rd in a 2150m Class E here late last month. Competitively-shod but others still easier to back
4. JUST FOR FUN – Imposed at Meslay-du-Maine before finishing 5th, a place behind JUAN CARLOS GIFONT (10) in a 2700m Vincennes Class D 2 weeks ago. Mathieu Mottier reining again and, with application, will not be far off the mark
5. JUST A MAN – Has enjoyed something of a renaissance this term, most recently winning a 2750m Class E at La Capelle with ease 2 weeks ago. Steps up in category but should nonetheless acquit himself honourably
6. JUMBO JACK – 7th of 11 in a 2625m Cherbourg Class E at the start of the month, but won across town on his only barefoot start and can expect to receive the lion’s share of support
7. JOSS CAPELLO – Won over course and distance before faulting in 5 April race of reference. Has never disappointed in this configuration and Yoann Lebourgeois will be out to set the record straight
8. JIVRY – 7th of 13 finishers in a 2800m Rambouillet Class E 2 weeks back. Unshod-all-4 this time but seems to have no realistic chance
9. JASMIN PHIL – Has come close in 3 of last 4, most recently 2nd under the saddle in a 2550m Beaumont-de-Lomagne Class E 3 weeks ago. Barefoot for the occasion but others still preferred
10. JUAN CARLOS GIFONT – Knocking at the door lately, most recently beating a number of these in a 2700m Vincennes Class D 2 weeks ago. Always gives his best and Eric Raffin maintaining faith must be taken as a positive sign
11. JAZZY FLIGNY – Sanctioned on comeback earlier in the month in a 2625m Cherbourg Class E. Shoes off this time but still not easy to like
12. JUST BUILT – Has done nothing but improve since the start of the year, most recently 3rd of 12 in a 2600m Nancy Class E on 24 March. Is proven at Enghien but appears to be aiming too high this time
13. JASMIN D’AVE – Useful on a good day but well-beaten 9th of 15 in a 2700m Vincennes Class D a fortnight back. If focused though, should not be too far from the action
14. JAPPELOUP TURGOT – 7th of 9 finishers when being conditioned in a 2700m Vincennes Class D 3 weeks ago. Back to racing barefoot and looks a decent place chance
15. JACK SURPRISE – 2nd of 15 in a 3125m Angers Class E on 3 April, on just his 2nd start back and, in similar form, should confirm
Summary: A very open affair with a host in contention, but a tentative nod nevertheless goes to JUMBO JACK (6) who is barefoot for just the second time after having imposed well at Vincennes earlier in the year. David Thomain will still be keeping a watchful eye on JACK SURPRISE (15) who has evidently benefited from the winter break, and JAPPELOUP TURGOT (14) who is barefoot for his first objective of the new season. Consistently in the thick of things, JUAN CARLOS GIFONT (10) merits respect.

C2 – PX OFFICE DU TOURISME ENGHIEN-LES-BAINS – 2875m (a2m) – Class D Race – Mounted – EUR € 40,000
1. KYA DE JELMA – Back under the saddle after faulting in a 2750m harness Class F at La Capelle on 24 March. In superior company here and even racing barefoot, will have limited chances
2. KOOKIE DE BELLANDE – Lost her action in a 2500m Reims Class F on 8 April after having debuted well under the saddle on re-entry. Hind shoes off again but others easier to back
3. KALINE DE DUSSAC – Would have finished in the money instead of being sanctioned in a 2100m Vincennes claimer 2 weeks ago, had she not been subject of interference. In this company though, can be passed over
4. KALINE JULMA – Failed to confirm her Lisieux success when sanctioned 3 weeks ago in a 2850m Laval Class F. Returns to racing barefoot though and, with application, can get back in the game
5. KISMIE DE MONTFORT – 9th of 10 in a 2350m Angers harness Class E earlier this month. Races unshod-behind, with Eric Raffin drafted in for the occasion and can make a big impact if she stays in stride
6. KENENISA SKILL – Sanctioned when prepping for this in a 2625m harness Class C at Agen-Le Passage 2 weeks ago. Not once out of the frame in monté competition and must not be underestimated
7. KINA DU RIB – Disappointing 5th of 7 in a 2875m Meslay-du-Maine Class E a month back. Has otherwise demonstrated good aptitude for the discipline and, with shoes off, can figure more prominently
8. KEJAIME DE HOUELLE – Quality individual that has taken her game up a notch this term, latterly romping home in a 2450m Caen Class F on 27 March, and can win this if she takes to racing barefoot
9. KORA GEMA – Encountered no opposition en route to victory in a 2225m Feurs Class E on 8 April. Excellent when fitted with 4 pads and, if focused, could yet repeat
10. KALINE DU RIB – Returns to the monté code after trotting 2nd of 13 in a 2350m Angers harness Class E early this month and, if form transitions, will not be far from the action
Summary: Complicated she may be but KEJAIME DE HOUELLE (8) has started to show a different side to herself lately, races barefoot for the first time and, with application, can complement her 2 recent Caen successes. KORA GEMA (9) showed her prowess at Feurs on just her first start since New Year’s Day and, in similar form, can confirm. KISMIE DE MONTFORT (5) is not to everyone’s taste but races unshod-behind, has a lot going for her here, and the Eric Raffin-factor cannot be ignored. KINA DU RIB (7) will be fully-fit by now and, barefoot for the first time, is not without a chance of upsetting the apple-cart.

C3 – PRIX FRANCE BLEU (LONS-LE-SAUNIER) – 2150m (a1m1/4) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 40,000
1. KINGSTON DE BLARY – Showed his form despite being sanctioned in a 2700m Vincennes Class D on 5 March. Shoes back on though and best to hold off
2. KEN FERFAY – Pleasantly surprising 2nd of 10, at 38/1, in a 2700m Vincennes Class D 3 weeks ago. Takes on some tougher elements this time though and not a priority
3. KAIROS DE BOMO – Capable on a good day but sanctioned, when full of running, in a 2100m Vincennes Class C on 22 March. Has placed under these conditions and will appreciate the change of venue. Minor place chance
4. KILLER MESLOIS – Sanctioned when never dangerous in a 2925m Cagnes Gr.3 on 15 February. Stays shod for comeback and can be passed over
5. KAISER DE MORTREE – 5th, 2 places behind KASH SNIPER (13), in a 2725m Lisieux Class D a month ago. Arguably better racing right-handed but is still worth keeping an eye on
6. KOQUERY DU BUISSON – Tenacious winner of a 2100m Vincennes Class D 8 days ago. Yet to finish out of first 3 and is not about to let the side down. Claim
7. KLASSIC DREAM – Got back in the game at Marseille-Borély late-March when winning a 2300m Class D with ease, and can again figure prominently if François Lagadeuc keeps him trotting
8. KAZY MERITE – Took little time getting back in shape, finishing 2nd of 8 in a 2050m Lyon-La Soie Class D 10 days ago. Races barefoot for the first time and, even though breaking wide, can still get in on the action
9. KENDO JIEL – Lost his action in a 2100m Class C across town early-March. Sports a different configuration this time but still not the easiest to back
10. KEPI DES MONTS – Last of 10 in a 2700m Vincennes Class D 3 weeks ago. Disappointing for some time and can be written off
11. KAJOU JOSSELYN – 6th over longer here early-March before winning a 2200m Caen Class E 10 days later. Starts on the 2nd line but can make a big splash if still on the boil
12. KATSUKI – Has not been seen out since faulting early in a 2175m Vincennes Class D 3 months ago and can be confidently ruled out
13. KASH SNIPER – Enjoying a good run of form, latterly 3rd of 9 finishers in a 2725m Lisieux Class D a month back. Is in his category and can still trot his way into the money
14. KITALIANO ALGREF – Talented sort with 2 races under his belt this term, most recently faulting in a 2725m Lisieux Class D on 20 March. Will be fit by now and should not be underestimated
Summary: KOQUERY DU BUISSON (6) left quite the impression at Vincennes earlier this month and, racing barefoot from the front line, should be eminently capable of confirming. The main opposition hails from the second row, with KAJOU JOSSELYN (11) who was quick to open his 2024 account, and KASH SNIPER (13) who has taken well to racing barefoot. KLASSIC DREAM (7) is forced to start wide but he caught the eye last time out and will be competitive for a place in the frame.

C4 – PRIX VILLE DE SOISY-SOUS-MONTMORENCY – 2150m (a1m1/4) – Class C Race – Harness – EUR € 68,000
1. SAHARA JAEBURN – Fine campaigner that came a valiant 2nd to GARDNER SHAW (2) in a 2700m Vincennes Class C 3 weeks ago. Is proven at a superior level here and can challenge for the win
2. GARDNER SHAW – Has done nothing but improve this term, most recently making short work of a 2700m Vincennes Class C on 29 March, and with form maintained can again play a leading role
3. GRECO BELLO – Put on a fine show to come 2nd, before being disqualified, in a 2925m Cagnes Class B mid-February. Is fresh, shod to preference, won his only start here, and from the 3-spot could pleasantly surprise
4. FAVORI DE L’ITON – Won a claimer over track and trip before coming 9th of 16 when preparing for this in a 2725m Lisieux Class E last Sunday. Competitively-shod this time but is nonetheless out of his depth
5. FASHION TOUCH – Back to a more reasonable level after coming 13th of 15 in a 2700m Vincennes Gr.2 a fortnight back. Shod to preference this time but, in this company, will struggle to make her mark
6. HURELLA – Beat a host of these over course and distance mid-March before coming 12th of 14 when prepping for this in a 2100m Vincennes Class B last weekend. Shoes off this time and looks the one to beat
7. HERE WE GO – Quality trotter that seldom puts a foot wrong, most recently 3rd toGARDNER SHAW (2) in late-March race of reference. Unlikely to impose but can still get in on the action
8. BELZEBU’JET – Has turned a corner since switching configurations, most recently 2nd of 16 in a 2700m Vincennes Class C last weekend. Is in his category and even though drawn wide, still looks competitive for a slice of the pie
9. BAHIA DEL CIRCEO – Solid winner of a 2100m Vincennes Class C a fortnight back. Has never delivered at Enghien but the nature of her recent success augurs well for her prospects
10. GRANDE PRETRESSE – Won over track and trip last season but below-par since. 10th to BAHIA DEL CIRCEO (9) in a 2100m Vincennes Class C 2 weeks ago, caused by traffic problems, but can make amends if François Lecanu keeps her out of trouble
11. DOMINO D’AUVRECY – Struggling to regain form, latterly 11th of 12 finishers to BAHIA DEL CIRCEO (9) in a 2100m Vincennes Class C 2 weeks ago, and can expect to have few takers
12. EL SANTO HAUFOR – Has not been seen out since coming last of 8 in a 2300m Mons Gr.3 late-October and will have nothing to offer
13. FONZY D’HERIPRE – Sanctioned when prepping for this in a 2700m Vincennes monté Class C 8 days ago. Ability is not in doubt, but current form is
14. GOLD MENCOURT – Got back in the game when 4th, at 40/1, to HURELLA (6) in last weekend’s race of reference, but a repeat seems improbable
15. FUEGO DU MORTIER – Drops back in class after coming 8th of 16 in a 3250m Lyon-La Soie Gr.3 10 days ago, but still appears to have his work cut out
16. HARLEY GEMA – Won a Cagnes Class B before finishing close 2nd to HURELLA (6) last weekend. Has won twice in 3 starts for Benjamin Rochard and, despite the draw, can still figure prominently
Summary: Although a tricky character at the best of times, HURELLA (6) has talent in spades and, going barefoot again, can complement her fine March success. SAHARA JAEBURN (1) is clearly close to his race and Yoann Lebourgeois will be out to exact revenge on the formidable GARDNER SHAW (2) who had his measure across town 3 weeks ago. HARLEY GEMA (16) has been handed a shocking draw but, in her current condition, is very hard to ignore.

C5 – PRIX DE LA VILLE D’ENGHIEN-LES-BAINS – 2875m (a2m) – Class C Race – Mounted – EUR € 68,000
1. ENJEU DAIRPET – Surprise 5th of of 11 in a 2700m Vincennes Class E on 2 April although a repeat seems rather unlikely
2. GENERAL – Unraced for 2 months after coming 9th of 11 in a 2700m Vincennes Class D and can expect to be race-rusty
3. GIUSEPPE – 4th to EXTREME DESBOIS (10), having faulted, in the Angers race of reference. Is plainly in form, thrives at Enghien, and will be no pushover
4. HAUTBRION COLMI – In form but sanctioned in a 2325m Toulouse harness Class B on 12 April. Appreciates Enghien though and returns to the monté code with a good hand to play
5. HEROS DE BEYLEV – Kicked the year off well but out of the picture in last 2, most recently last of 9 in a Class C over course and distance on 8 March, and may have to return home empty-handed
6. FIRST GEDE – Finished 6th, behind HOPIUM (13), in a 2700m Vincennes Class C 8 days ago. Gave a respectable account on that occasion and, with some luck in running, can pick up a cheque
7. DETROIT ACE – Last of 9 finishers in a 2250m Class C here on 26 March. Has done nothing of note for some time and can be passed over
8. GLADYS DU CEDRE – Disappointing 7th of 9 finishers to EXTREME DESBOIS (10) at Angers earlier in the month but never worse than 5th in 6 monté starts here and must be afforded respect
9. HERMINE GIRL – 9th of 18 in a 2450m Caen harness Class D early-March. Has been off the boil for some time and is not about to break the mould
10. EXTREME DESBOIS – Won a 3125m Angers Class D with authority, earlier this month, at the first time of asking under the saddle. Shoes off again and looks thoroughly capable of doubling up
11. DAHLIA DU PONT – Has not been seen out since finishing 9th of 10 in a 2850m Class B across town on 10 February. Just hind shoes off and will need the run
12. HERE I GO AGAIN – Encouraging 2nd of 9 in a 2800m Pontchâteau Class D on 8 March. Has previously won here and, with Paul Ploquin in the irons, will be afforded every chance
13. HOPIUM – Dependable type that trotted 2nd in a 2700m Vincennes Class C 8 days ago. Has respectable Enghien credentials and could finally open his 2024 account
14. EGINE PRECIEUSE – Unseen under the saddle since 2019 but returns to the code after coming 11th of 16 in a 2850m Vincennes Class D 8 days ago. Reverts to a previous configuration but is unlikely to shake things up
15. DIEGO DECOULGENS – Forceful winner of a 2600m Cavaillon Class D on 9 April. Front shoes off this time, has never disappointed at Enghien, and even though not a priority, will still be worth monitoring
Summary: After a frustrating string of sanctions EXTREME DESBOIS (10) was switched to the monté discipline and duly imposed; he goes barefoot again and can double his money if Clément Frecelle keeps him trotting. HOPIUM (13), on the other hand, has nothing to prove under these conditions and deserves to be rewarded with victory one of these days. The Enghien-loving GIUSEPPE (3) will have his chances if he manages to stay focused, as will the recently-sanctioned HAUTBRION COLMI (4) who won, under harness, over course and distance last month.

1. HOOKER BERRY – 3rd in Gr.2 Prix Kerjacques over 2700m at Vincennes a fortnight ago. Takes time out from covering mares to give this a go and a repeat of his latest effort would see him pick up some prizemoney
2. EMERAUDE DE BAIS – Won a 2850m Vincennes Gr.3 on 23 March. Sanctioned in 2023 edition but given current form, looks a serious proposition
3. GO ON BOY – 3rd behind EMERAUDE DE BAIS (2) in Gr.1 Critérium de Vitesse over a mile at Cagnes early-March. Has taken his game to a new level over recent months and is ideally-placed to win this
4. HOHNECK – Unraced since coming 13th in Prix d’Amérique late-January. Has excellent speed though, came 3rd in last year’s edition and, from the 4-spot will be dangerous if fit
5. HUSSARD DU LANDRET – 7th, behind HOOKER BERRY (1), in Gr.2 Prix Kerjacques over 2700m at Vincennes a fortnight ago, having won Gr.1 Prix de Paris over 4150m 6 weeks earlier. Not as speedy as others here but breaks in front and can get a look-in
6. ELVIS DU VALLON – Could have finished closer than 6th in Prix Kerjacques had he been afforded a run. 5th in 2023 edition but others still warrant more consideration
7. HANNA DES MOLLES – Unremarkable 8th in Gr.2 Prix Kerjacques over 2700m at Vincennes 2 weeks ago. Reverts to a previous configuration and already looks out of her depth
8. INMAROSA – 9th of 15 in 6 March race of reference after having produced some fine performances over recent months. Has placed just once in 3 here and, drawn wide, is not about to spring any surprises
9. GANAY DE BANVILLE – Last of 12 when prepping for this in a 3100m Angers Gr.3 on 3 March. Sports modified shoeing, has never disappointed here, and should not be written off
10. HORSY DREAM – Runner-up to EMERAUDE DE BAIS (2) in a 2850m Vincennes Gr.3 on 23 March. 4th in last year’s edition, is barefoot for the occasion, has won 7 times for Eric Raffin, and must be taken seriously
Summary: GO ON BOY (3) has been chasing that elusive win since last September, has front pads fitted for the first time, adores Enghien and, from the 3-spot, can finally receive his just rewards. Romain Derieux will still be wary of the well-positioned EMERAUDE DE BAIS (2) who had his measure over a mile at Cagnes last month, and dual-Gr.1-winner HORSY DREAM (10) whose shoes are off for the occasion. HOHNECK (4) has the plum spot behind the car, returns fresh, and considering he is the 2023 Elitlopp winner, must not be underestimated.

C7 – PRIX DE LA VILLE D’EAUBONNE (ARGONNE) – 2875m (a2m) – Class A Race – Harness – EUR € 71,000
1. DIE HARD (ITY) – Was going well when sanctioned in late-March race of reference. Just front shoes off this time and, reunited with Eric Raffin, can start to come good again
2. DAYTONA DI CECCO – Disappointing on the whole this year, latterly sanctioned in a 2850m Vincennes monté Class D 3 weeks ago, and has no possible chance
3. DESTINO D.J. – Finished nicely to come 4th of 15 in a tough 2850m Vincennes Class B 8 days ago. Takes a step up in category and will be competitive for a place in the frame
4. JAMAICA D’AURCY – Sanctioned, when well-backed, in a 2700m Vincennes Gr.2 a week ago. Is not devoid of ability and can play a role if she stays focused
5. DUBHE PRAV – Sanctioned in a 2850m Vincennes Class B 8 days ago. Has merit but is a long way from his best and others preferred
6. JOYCE – Has not been seen out for 2 months since coming last of 12, when never afforded a run, in a 2100m Vincennes Class B. Shod for re-entry though and best to wait
7. JUST FOR LOVA – Encouraging 6th, a place behind JINGLE DELO (9) in a 2450m Caen Class B on 11 March, but still needs to show marked improvement
8. JEWEL DE BANVILLE – Would have finished closer than 7th in late-March race of reference had he not faulted. Is new to Enghien but receives a Yoann Lebourgeois drive and will be afforded every chance
9. JINGLE DELO – 5th to JAZZMAN DEBAILLEUL (14) in a 2850m Vincennes Class B late last month. Is confirmed over track and trip but others still easier to back
10. DARDO ZACK – Showed improvement when 2nd of 6 in a 2700m Vincennes monté Class A 8 days ago. Won under these conditions last summer and looks a major player
11. HNOKKI SPEED – Hardy Danish trotter making French debut after winning over 2000m at Charlottenlund on 24 March. Will appreciate the Enghien profile and has the wherewithal to give JAZZMAN DEBAILLEUL (14) something to consider
12. DIAMOND FRANCIS – Sanctioned in both French starts this year, latterly a 2450m Caen Class B on 11 March. Races with shoes this time and is unlikely to shake things up
13. JANGO VICI – Won a Vincennes Class A early-February but could manage only 6th of 16 in a 2700m Gr.3 there later that month. Comes here fresh, sports a proven formula, and will be no easy touch
14. JAZZMAN DEBAILLEUL – Like a horse reborn since last autumn, winning 4 of last 5, most recently a 2850m Vincennes Class B with consummate ease. Fitted with pads this time but still the pick of the field
Summary: Since returning to racing, JAZZMAN DEBAILLEUL (14) has done nothing but excel and even with just front pads fitted this time, still looks the horse to beat. Franck Nivard will be justifiably wary of HNOKKI SPEED (11) who makes just his second appearance outside Scandinavia and, barefoot for the occasion with Gabriele Gelormini reining, is unlikely to disappoint. DARDO ZACK (10) showed his form under the saddle recently and will be expected to finish in the mix, as will DESTINO D.J. (3) who consistently gives everything he has.

1. KRISTO BOURBON – Makes first appearance since coming last of 10 in a 2100m Vincennes Class A late-December. Is barefoot for re-entry but still not an obvious choice
2. KNOCKONWOOD – 10th of 11, behind KAVIARISSIME (4), in a 2850m Vincennes Class A 2 weeks ago and appears to need another outing
3. KALMIA QUICK – Untested at this level but has ability. Pleasant 6th to KAVIARISSIME (4) in a 2850m Vincennes Gr.3 in early-March but still looks out of her league
4. KAVIARISSIME – Turned a corner winning a Gr.3 at Vincennes last month before trotting 2nd in a 2850m Class A at the same venue a fortnight ago. Takes a hike in class but still looks up to the job. First 5 chance
5. KEENAN DE JOUDES – Trotted 2nd to KOCTEL DU DAIN (12) in Gr.2 Prix Ephrem Houel before faulting early in 2200m Gr.1 Prix de Séléction at Vincennes on 2 March. Unlikely to make the same mistake twice and can play a leading role
6. KOOL DES CHAMPS – 9th to KAVIARISSIME (4) in 2700m Gr.3 Prix Franck Anne early last month. Off the boil all year and needs to get his house in order
7. KABAKA DE GUEZ – Never dangerous 10th of 11 finishers in Gr.1 Prix Ourasi late-January. Has had time to get back in shape but has still looked a far cry from her best
8. KALIF LANDIA – Good dual-discipline colt returning to the harness code after trotting 3rd in 2200m Gr.1 Prix des Centaures at Vincennes on 2 March. Similarly configured and is not without a chance of setting the cat among the pigeons
9. KRISTAL JOSSELYN – Capable sort that briefly lost his way before finishing a pleasant 6th of 12 in 10 February race of reference. Has not however done enough to be considered a player
10. KING OPERA – Sanctioned in 2100m Gr.2 Prix Ephrem Houel at Vincennes on 10 February. Can prove a handful but goes shod this time and should not be underestimated
11. KRACK TIME ATOUT – Has not been seen out since winning Gr.1 Prix Ourasi over 2700m across town late-January. Won Gr.3 under these conditions last time here, has freshness on his side, and can apply the pressure on KOCTEL DU DAIN (12)
12. KOCTEL DU DAIN – Superb colt that comfortably won Gr.2 Prix Ephrem Houel over 2100m at Vincennes on 10 February. Seldom disappoints when applied and should be able to wrap this up
Summary: An exceptional campaigner at this level, KOCTEL DU DAIN (12) made up for his Gr.1 Prix Ourasi sanction with an excellent Gr.2 Prix Ephrem Houel performance and still looks marginally better than KRACK TIME ATOUT (11) who won the Ourasi at 19/1. KEENAN DE JOUDES (5) came a cropper in the Gr.1 Prix de Séléction after having run 2nd to Thomain’s charge in February and looks competitive for a spot on the podium. Gr.1 winner in the other discipline, KALIF LANDIA (8) returns to the harness code with a a decent hand to play.

1. LITTLE TWO – Got off the mark in superb fashion late last month in a 2800m Argentan Class F. Has no references going left-handed but would not be here if his handler was not confident of a big run
2. LOTUS ZEN – Returns to the harness code after coming last of 5 finishers in a 2700m Vincennes Class C on 2 April. Sports pads this time but can still expect to remain friendless
3. LANCELOT PLATANES – Unraced since finishing 7th of 8 in a 2100m Vincennes Class C on 19 December and will need the run
4. LEOLIO – Lost his maiden tag, on re-entry, in a 2825m Class E at Le Croisé-Laroche on 1 April. 4 pads fitted this time, will have come on for the run, and looks a player
5. LEVER DU JOAMAX – Won 2 on the trot at Caen, most recently a 2200m Class E. Goes left-handed for the first time but will be dangerous if he turns
6. LED ZEP VET – Runner-up in all 3 starts to date, latterly a Class D over course and distance a month ago. Unlikely to spring any surprises this time but should still acquit himself honestly
7. LATINO PURA VIDA – Last of 6 finishers in a 2700m Vincennes Class C at the start of the month. Pads fitted this time but may still be a race shy
8. LOVI CADENCE – Useful colt that was sanctioned in a 2700m Vincennes Class C on 2 April. Entrusted to Eric Raffin for the first time but still no more than a minor place prospect
9. LARGO LIGNERIES – Won 2 racing clockwise before coming 4th of 8 in a 2700m Vincennes Class C on 2 April. Will appreciate the more even Enghien surface is expected to finish in the mix
10. LUCKY PIYA – Pleasant 5th of 7, on comeback, in a 2175m Vincennes Class B a week ago. Sports front pads for the first time which could make all the difference. Minor place prospect
11. LOVER QUICK – Won his first 2 before faulting in a 2850m Vincennes Class B on 28 February. Franck Nivard reining this time and can put things right. Claim
Summary: Even though having lost his action early last time out, there is little doubt about the talent LOVER QUICK (11) possesses and is in with a shout of winning this if Clément Duvaldestin gets him off on the right foot. They will still come under pressure from the unbeaten and progressive LEVER DU JOAMAX (5), and a padded LEOLIO (4) who opened his account on comeback earlier this month. LITTLE TWO (1) was a joy to watch at Argentan and makes his metropolitan debut with claims on a place in the frame.

Summary: After finishing 4th in a tougher race on the PSF at Chantilly last time, it could pay to side with LA TOUR DU BOIS (6) who proved her efficiency on turf last year when 4th on debut at Le Pin au Haras on soft ground. She will, however, be tested by MANOIR (2) whose consistency and versatility will stand him in good stead. LA VUELTA (3) confirmed the improvement of her previous start (5th) with an encouraging 3rd last time and is likely to make her presence felt too with a repeat of that performance. Summary: MANDRES (7), the joint top-rated runner in the race, ought to capitalise on these favourable conditions by opening her account, especially with the benefit of her rider’s 1,5kg allowance. She will, however, have to thwart the likely challenge of LOVER WITH A G (9), another joint top-rated entrant whose rider also takes 1,5kg off the back. Summary: Veteran TALLINSKI (9) caught the eye with a reassuring 3rd at Chantilly last time and has sound references at this venue – albeit without success – so is marginally preferred in this sprint handicap. Veteran GLICOURT (14), twice a winner over this course and distance, is ideally positioned in the starting stalls and has the means to play a leading role too, having finished an encouraging 4th over this track and trip last month. ISEULT (3), after a much-needed comeback run, veteran mare CRISTAL MARVELOUS (1), and MAGIC SWORD (2) could also resurface in a race of this nature.

3. BARBUDA – Modest last two runs and was 9th in a Handicap last time out at Deauville over 1300m on the 15 of December. Been on a break since and has sufficient means to fight for the victory.
4. SWEET AS – Unreliable and was 8th in a Handicap at Deauville over 1400m on the 10 of April.Well-drawn and will be an advantage but is not the most consistent sort
5. TWO TWO TWO – Unplaced in a Handicap last time out at Deauville over 1400m on the 10 of April. Disappointing last three efforts, but placed fourth at this track in October. Consider

15. LILLY BIRD – Unplaced in a Handicap at Pornichet-La Baule over 1700m on the 27 of March. Poor form and others are preferred
Summary: This is another wide-open handicap and cases can be made for several runners. However, it could be worth siding with veteran ASTURIAS ROAD (10) whose 3 career victories were all achieved over this course and distance. BARBUDA (3) is, like the selection, also favourably positioned in the starting stalls, so has legitimate ambitions here on her seasonal reappearance. TWO TWO TWO (5), although out of sorts, isn’t incapable of making her presence felt either, having finished 4th over track and trip last year off a mark 4kg higher than her current rating. SWEET AS (4) and JAVA JAMES (12) appeal most of the remainder and are competitive for the places.

RUE MIA (8) fits a similar profile, though, having finished 3rd on the turf at Chantilly last Monday, so should fight for victory. WAHAYEB (11) lines up here in good form and physical condition with legitimate ambitions too, after finishing 3rd over course and distance on her handicap debut last month. Last-start winner WAITING CALL (9) ought to remain competitive despite a resultant penalty.

4. KENOR – Second in a Handicap at Compiegne over 2400m on the 10 of March. Runner up six times and can go one better
5. IVISHAK RIVER – Fourth at Mons over 2100m on the 22 of January. a very consistent sort and is seldom far off them
6. CONFINED QUEEN – Unplaced in a Handicap at Fontainebleau over 3000m on the 13 of April. Poor form and others are preferred
7. RUE DAUPHINE – Was 6th in a Handicap at Le Lion-d Angers over 2000m on the 7 of April. A runner-up in the only attempt at this track. Should be involved in the finish
8. RED SUGAR – Third in a Handicap at Fontainebleau over 3000m on the 13 of April. Good effort at Fontainebleau and can be involved in the finish
9. MITARC – Third in a Handicap at Compiegne over 2000m on the 29 of March. Won this event last year and will have supporters again
10. CHACHA BOY – Was 6th at Mons over 2850m on the 9 of April. Can at best play a minor role.
Summary: After finishing 4th once, 3rd three times, and 2nd on another five occasions (including the 3 most recent outings) in his last nine starts, KENOR (4) ought to be rewarded for his consistency with an overdue and well-deserved third career success. RED SUGAR (8) is, however, a hard-knocking mare who is likely to pose a threat, having shown her form and well-being with a reassuring 3rd over 3000m at Fontainebleau last week. MITARC (9), who won this race last year, has been primed to make a bold defence of his title after two pleasing comeback runs, which include an encouraging last start (3rd) at Compiegne over 2000m. Consistent PSF performer IVISHAK RIVER (5) has sound references on turf and isn’t without a chance either.

C9 – PRIX DE FONTANGES – 2875m (a2m) – Class C Race – Harness – EUR € 46,000

2. DEVIL IN THE SKY – Has two unplaced runs of late in Listed and a Group 3 race, 4th before that in a Group 3 race at Chantilly over 2400m in mid-June. Player

6. KANESHYA – Won last time at Fontainebleau in a Class 3 race on April 2nd over 2200m. Will find this difficult
7. MONT DE SOLEIL – Won his sole run to date over 2400m at Chantilly on April 5th, 2023. Can improve and play a lead role after an absence
8. KARRIEWHITCHIT – 3rd over 2400m at this track in a Class 2 race on March 17th when last seen. Might find a few of these too smart

Summary: After racking up a hat-trick of wins it is hard to see past TOP OF MIND (1). She won nicely at this track in mid-March when she last appeared. DEVIL IN THE SKY (2) is a threat having been highly tried of late. He was fourth in a Group 3 race at Chantilly last summer and can have a say in proceedings. MONT DE SOLEIL (7) lacks experience and a recent run but did plenty right when scoring on debut and can not be discounted. ATLANTICA (9) is also worth a mention.

11. MADDOX – Modest recent form and was 7th in a Claimer at this track over 1100m on the 22 of March. Others are preferred in this line-up

15. INVIOLABLE SPIRIT – Finished 8th last time out in a Claimer at this track over 1100m on the 22 of March. Three unplaced attempts this year
Summary: Veteran TALLINSKI (9) caught the eye with a reassuring 3rd at Chantilly last time and has sound references at this venue – albeit without success – so is marginally preferred in this sprint handicap.

Consider
6. ILLUMINATING – Was 8th in a Handicap at Mons over 950m on the 23 of November.Long losing streak and best to pass by
