A length-and-three-quarters winner over a mile on his seasonal bow in April, Kelpie Grey ably dealt with a 5lb rise to make all over seven furlongs at the start of this month.
He looked decent value for the winning margin of two and a quarter lengths, so the extra 6lb he carries now may not be enough to anchor him.

The five-year-old has been a regular visitor to Ayr of late, running with real consistency off her current rating, and it would be no surprise to see her find the target sooner rather than later.

Beaten a neck, she should enjoy dropping back to the minimum trip at a track where she has run well in the past.

can shine stepped up to an extended three miles in the Racing Welfare Supporting Racing’s Workforce Handicap Chase at Southwell.
A chase winner over two miles and three furlongs back in November, he suffered a fall the next time but that appeared not to have left a mark when he ran well enough for third at Ayr in March.
He was staying on all the way to the line that day over an extended two and a half miles, so this move up looks a logical progression.
