4. STEP UP LADY – André Fabre-trained Kingman filly related to several black-type performers. Will likely start favourite on debut under Mickaël Barzalona
5. PROUD LUCY – This Stéphane Cérulis-trained daughter of Taj Mahal ought to benefit from the 2,5kg allowance of her rider Mégane Peslier
6. LAVENDER LACE – Well-bred Lope De Vega filly who was withdrawn at the start of her proposed introduction on 14 May. Trainer Francis-Henri Graffard would’ve done his homework with her since and Maxime Guyon rides
7. OLERON – This Markus Münch-trained daughter of Soldier Hollow is to be ridden on debut by Luca Carboni. Keep safe
8. ISCREAMFORICECREAM – This Galiway filly is the first foal out of Victory Boom whose dam enjoyed a successful career across the Atlantic. Trainer Jean-Marie Béguigné has engaged Marie Vélon, who has a 1,5kg allowance – beware
Summary: André Fabre-trained STEP UP LADY (4) makes the most appeal in this opening event for unraced three-year-old fillies and Godolphin’s Kingman newcomer is likely to put in a forward showing on debut. LAVENDER LACE (6) is another well-bred newcomer expected to go well first-up for trainer Francis-Henri Graffard, who has engaged Maxime Guyon to partner his charge. RAHIMA (1) and ISCREAMFORICECREAM (8) also deserve a mention.

1. DE SICA – Outclassed on his reappearance in a Group III over 1800m at this venue on 7 April but will fare better at this level with improved fitness on his side. Keep safe
2. KALET – Debut winner over 2000m at Saint-Cloud in March but failed to confirm that promise when only 5th at Châteaubriant over 1950m on 27 April. Shouldn’t be hastily condemned
3. ROLLERCOASTER – First-start scorer on PSF over 2150m at Lyon-La Soie in March and finished 2nd over 2000m in his next outing at Salon-de-Provence. Fluffed his lines when only 7th over 2100m at Marseille-Borely on 10 May
4. SWANN – Made a winning reappearance over 2200m at Fontainebleau on 13 April in what was his first outing on turf. Open to further progress
5. VEGAS – Caught the eye when finishing a staying-on 4th on the turf at Chantilly over 1600m on 29 April after a comeback outing on PSF. Candidate for success with improvement expected
Summary: VEGAS (5) made the expected improvement after a much-needed comeback outing to finish an eye-catching 4th last time out at Chantilly and is likely to fight for victory with further progress on the cards. DE SICA (1), who finished 3rd in a Listed race as a two-year-old last term, made no impression in an 1800m Group III on his reappearance but would’ve tightened up with the benefit of that outing and should, given this ease in grade, pose more of a threat at this level. His unexposed stablemate KALET (2) and last-start Fontainebleau winner SWANN (4) are likely to make their presence felt too.

4. DOUBLE MAJOR – Won the Group I Prix Royal-Oak last year. Has a bit to find on recent form after finishing a well-beaten 3rd behind SEVENNA’S KNIGHT (3) on his reappearance in a 3000m Group III at this venue on 28 April
5. SOBER – Held on the form of his Dubai Gold Cup 9th by AL NAYYIR (1) as well as the form of the Group III Prix de Barbeville, in which he finished 5th over 3000m on this course. Outsider
6. SHEMBALA – Stretched out well to grab 2nd from DOUBLE MAJOR (4) in the Group III Prix de Barbeville over 3000m on this course last time (29 April). Not taken lightly
Summary: Dubai Gold Cup runner-up AL NAYYIR (1) will be all the rage on his return to French soil. SEVENNA’S KNIGHT (3) impressed when a wide-margin winner of the Prix de Barbeville and could expose any chinks in the armour of the selection. DOUBLE MAJOR (4) and SHEMBALA (6) complete the shortlist.

1. CLAVUS – Versatile colt with sound references in handicaps. Found 1900m too far when 9th in a Quinté+ on PSF in March but set the record straight with an impressive last-start win over 1600m at Le Mans on 23 April
2. AQUILA VOLANTE – Ran in a Listed race at two and has maintained his form/consistency at three. Has crossed paths with quality rivals but his opening mark is a bit high – finished 4th at Marseille-Borely (1800m) on 24 April
3. CONTENTIOUS SOUL – Stayed on well to finish 4th behind CLAVUS (1) over 1600m at Le Mans on 23 April. Meets that rival on 1,5kg better terms and has the profile to succeed in the handicap category
4. AMORCITA – Won back-to-back 1500m outings at Cagnes during the winter and proved her competitiveness off this mark (under a penalty) when 3rd in a Quinté+ over 1600m at Saint-Cloud on 1 May. Not taken lightly
5. BELISE – An impressive/eye-catching winner over 1600m at Chantilly on 26 April against female opposition. Now faces male rivals on her handicap debut but has scope to improve off an unchanged mark
6. HAMLET’S NIGHT – Caught the eye with a fast-finishing 2nd on his handicap/Quinté debut at Saint-Cloud on 1 May. Needs only to repeat that performance to open his account
7. ATLANTIC WAYS – A 5-start maiden with sound references and untapped potential. Runner-up over course and distance on her ParisLongchamp debut in a conditions race on 12 May – an attractive outsider
8. TRUE VALUE – Has won three handicaps this year, earning a total penalty of 9kg. Steps up considerably in class off of a mark 3,5kg higher after her last-start success at Le Mans in a 1600m handicap on 15 May

10. LOVECAYAN – Acquitted herself well when finishing 5th over 1600m at Le Mans on 23 April – behind CLAVUS (1) and CONTENTIOUS SOUL (3). Meets those rivals on better weights terms
11. PARRHESIA – Has only recently joined Anne-Sophie Crombez’s stable, following 2nd in a 1600m Saint-Cloud claimer on 10 May. Best watched for now
12. ABIAT – Caught the eye when running on from last to finish 3rd over 1300m at this venue on 9 May. Faces male rivals this time but shouldn’t be underestimated
13. BONNY WAY – Convincing winner over 2150m at Cagnes on 12 February but appears to have regressed in subsequent outings (unplaced in both). Could only finish 7th over 2000m at this venue on 9 May – drop in trip suits
14. BEJAR – Moved from Carlos Laffon-Paris to join Brian Beaunez in late March and has continued to improve. She finished an encouraging 3rd on her handicap debut over 1600m at Saint-Cloud on 1 May – dark horse
15. IBERIA – Wasn’t disgraced when finishing in midfield (7th) on handicap debut over an inadequate 1300m. Proved her form, well-being and preference for the mile when 3rd over track and trip on 12 May
Summary: On his Quinté+ debut at Saint-Cloud on 1 May, HAMLET’S NIGHT (6) ran on powerfully to finish 2nd and need only repeat that performance to shed his maiden tag. CLAVUS (1) returns to the handicap category with legitimate ambitions, having impressed over this (his preferred) distance last time. CONTENTIOUS SOUL (3), on his handicap debut, last-start handicap winner ARPENTEUR (9), who carries a 2,5kg penalty, and ABIAT (12), who ran on from last to finish 3rd over 1300m on this track recently, are also competitive for a spot on the podium. BELISE (5), AMORCITA (4) and IBERIA (15) are potential place-getters.

3. HAYA ZARK – Consistent high-class performer unbeaten in two starts this year. Won the 1800m Group III Prix Exbury on his reappearance in March and the Group I Prix Ganay over 2100m at this venue last time (28 April)
4. HORIZON DORE – Finished behind HAYA ZARK (3) in both the Group III Prix Exbury and Group I Prix Ganay at this venue over 2100m on 28 April. Has a bit to find

7. MQSE DE SEVIGNE – Won a course-and-distance Listed race on her seasonal reappearance last month (14 April). Has sound references at the highest level, so should fight for victory with improved fitness/condition on her side
8. BLUE ROSE CEN – Champion filly with an impressive resume. Won a Group I at two and another 3 top-level successes last year – the latest over 2000m in the Prix de l’Opéra at this venue when last seen on 1 October. Keep safe
Summary: A typically stellar cast assembled for the 2024 edition of the prestigious Group I Prix d’Ispahan. In 3 starts this campaign, last year’s Poule d’Essai des Poulains winner MARHABA YA SANAFI (1) has proved that he retains all of his class and ability. He won a Listed race on his seasonal reappearance before filling the runners-up berth in Group III and Group II races over a mile. On the strength and consistency of that form, he’s good value to reconnect with success at the highest level. MQSE DE SEVIGNE (7) also won a Listed race on her comeback and is a proven Group performer who will pose a threat. DOLAYLI (2), who would appreciate a fast track, and high-class multiple Group I winner BLUE ROSE CEN (8) aren’t underestimated.

2. BREIZH SKY – Consistent colt with sound references/form credentials, which include a last-start victory of a Class 1 conditions race over track and trip on 9 May. Should have a role to play
3. MOUNT ATHOS – Consistent British performer whose best form/references have been achieved on PSF. Won over 1400m on his seasonal reappearance at Kempton on 27 March – dark horse
4. YOSEMITE VALLEY – Runner-up in a Listed race at Cork on his reappearance and built on that encouragement by winning a Listed race over 1400m at The Curragh on 21 April. Crosses the Channel with legitimate ambitions
5. HALF HALF – Finished 6th of 11 behind BRIEZH SKY (2) in a Class 1 course-and-distance conditions race on 9 May. Meets that rival on 1,5kg worse terms
6. NATIONAL SERVICE – Versatile veteran who showed his form and well-being on the PSF recently, finishing 2nd over 1300m at Chantilly on 8 March. Place chance
7. ZOOM – Consistent performer who deserves his place in the lineup after finishing a close-up 4th to BREIZH SKY (2) in a Class 1 course-and-distance conditions race on 9 May. Not taken lightly
8. EXXTRA – Won a 1200m Group III sprint in October and finished an eye-catching 2nd on her reappearance at this venue in a 1400m Listed race, albeit against females only. Faces a tougher task now against males
Summary: YOSEMITE VALLEY (4) beat a quality field, which included the excellent Jumbly, on his way to victory in a Listed race at the Curragh recently. He should find this ParisLongchamp layout much to his liking, so gets the nod in this Group II renewal. The 2023 winner of this race FORT PAYNE (1), fellow last-start scorer BREIZH SKY (2) and consistent ZOOM (7) are capable of seriously challenging the selection.

1. HER CHRISTOPHER – Unplaced in all 3 outings but didn’t go unnoticed when staying on well to finish 6th over 1600m at Lyon-Parilly on 20 April, proving that he is probably better than his opening handicap mark. Can win
2. NOOTKA BAY – Has been brought to hand slowly but surely, probably prepared for life in handicaps. Wasn’t beaten far when 6th over 2000m at Fontainebleau on 30 April
3. BAILEYS VITESSE – Last-start winner of a 1400m turf handicap at Chantilly on 15 April. Ought to continue his momentum, despite a 3kg penalty
4. CHESTER SKY – Consistent performer with sound references/form credentials, which include an encouraging 4th at Châteaubriant over 1950m on 12 May. Competitive in handicaps off his current mark
5. BANKIER – Was unable to find a clear passage at Saint-Cloud on his reappearance (10th) in a handicap over a mile on 6 May. Undeniably capable of better
6. QUEEN SINGER – Bounced back to form last time by finishing 2nd in a 1400m turf handicap at Chantilly on 17 May after dropping in the weights/ratings to her current mark. Place chance
7. EXIGENCE – Finished a length and a half behind CHESTER SKY (4) over 1950m at Châteaubriant on 12 May. Renews rivalry on worse weight (1kg) terms
8. VIADEIPISPINI – Finished a well-beaten 10th in his only turf/handicap appearance and his improved last start (4th) was in a 1900m PSF claimer at Chantilly on 7 May. Has more to do
9. NICE PAULI – Showed signs of improvement having dropped to his current mark when 4th in a 1600m handicap at Saint-Cloud on 6 May. Dark horse
10. SUBLIME CHOPE – Runner-up in a 1600m handicap at Saint-Cloud on 6 May before a disappointing (9th) last start over 1400m at Chantilly on 17 May. Unreliable but is dangerous to discount
Summary: Despite finishing unplaced in all three outings, HER CHRISTOPHER (1) has shown enough to suggest that he’s capable of fighting for victory on his handicap debut off a lenient opening mark. BANKIER (5), who was unlucky to finish unplaced at Saint-Cloud on his reappearance, and consistent CHESTER SKY (4), on the evidence of his encouraging Châteaubriant 3rd last time, are also candidates for success. Like the selection, NOOTKA BAY (2) seems competitive off his opening handicap mark, so shouldn’t be discounted.

4. NAISHAN – Unplaced in his consecutive recent outings but seldom far off the mark, although most effective in the claiming category – finished 7th over 2500m in that grade at Saint-Cloud on 10 May. Others preferred
5. RECOLETA – Made an encouraging (5th) reappearance in a PSF handicap in February but hasn’t been since finishing a disappointing 16th over 2400m in a handicap at Compiegne on 10 March

8. I EXCEL – Somewhat reassured with a last-start victory over 2100m on PSF at Mons on 26 April. Returns to France and switches with legitimate ambitions
9. SHATTERHAND – Won a course-and-distance conditions race on 16 May and could make his presence felt again despite a 2kg penalty
10. EXCITING – Steadily regaining form/momentum since sliding down the weights/ratings. Didn’t go unnoticed when 5th over 1800m on PSF at Chantilly on 7 May – keep safe
11. PRINCESS KARA – Didn’t go unnoticed when finishing 4th on her reappearance in a handicap over course and distance on 5 May. Attractive outsider
12. COGOLIN – Caught the eye with an encouraging 3rd on his reappearance over 2000m at Strasbourg on 8 May. Will have more to offer

14. LADY LOU – Versatile mare but remains unreliable/inconsistent. Finished a well-beaten 16th over track and trip in a handicap on 9 May
15. EAGLEHAWK – Has failed to establish himself in handicaps on the turf, despite a dropping in the weights/ratings. Was a well-beaten 15th in a 1900m PSF handicap at Chantilly on 11 May
Summary: COGOLIN (12) appreciates this ParisLongchamp layout and, having shown his form and well-being on his reappearance at Strasbourg, could be the one to side with. EXCITING (10) continues to slide down the weights/ratings, so should resurface sooner rather than later. He didn’t go unnoticed when 5th in a conditions race last time and could play a leading role back in the handicaps off a reduced (1,5kg) mark. Last-start winner KARIOITAHI (1) remains competitive after her recent victory on this course, while I’M ON MY WAY (13) and SHAWBAK (3) aren’t without chances either.

3. ASLAN SENORA – Last-start winner over track and trip on 9 May. Carries a 2kg penalty for that success but should fight for victory once more

7. MANDLEFT – Returned to form with an improved/encouraging 2nd off her current mark in a handicap over 1950m at Le Mans on 15 May. Keep safe

14. SILVER CONDOR – Went off the boil late last year and hasn’t been seen since finishing 12th in 2200m handicap at Amiens on 9 October
Summary: ASLAN SENORA (3), a winner on the course recently, and RAJA LUNA (5), who would’ve refined her condition with a run in a conditions race in which she was unfavorably engaged, have a theoretical winning chance and could find themselves fighting for victory, though slight preference is given to the former. NOBLE ANGEL (10), who finished 2nd to the selection, MANDLEFT (7), herself a runner-up last time (at Le Mans), and enigmatic DREAM AGAIN (8) are others capable of playing a leading role.

8. LAVANDE DES OBEAUX – Nice 3rd on the sole start over 2400m at Fougeres on May 1st. Will be sharper for that run and is one to pay attention too
9. LOVRAN – Newcomer by No Risk At All, the dam won three times on the flat. From a good stable she will know what is required on debut
10. LUCIOLE DE NEZY – Newcomer by Willywell, the dam was placed. Will likely need this outing for experience. The betting can guide
Summary: LILI BALL (1) looked like a useful prospect when she won at Le Lion D’Angers on her debut and it will need a smart rival to stop her following up. LUTECE D’ARTHEL (2) has shown improvement to finish a decent second last time on her second run at Montlucon late last month. She can be involved at the business end. LAVANDE DES OBEAUX (8) was a pleasing third on her debut and is the each-way option ahead of the unraced LOVRAN (9) who looks good on paper and should be monitored in the betting.

C3 – PRIX DU BOIS MORAND – 2600m (a1m1/2) – TURF – Condition Race – Flat – EUR € 16,500 |
1. KISS ME SONNE – Fair 4th last time in a Group 1 AQ race at Fontainebleau on November 25th over 2600m. In the mix
2. KASAQUE MAG – Won last time over 2400m at Divonne on April 21st. Has work to do in a stronger race
3. KIMI DE MAI – Has won her two races this year, the latter at Nantes over 2400m on May 6th by an easy 5L. Leading chance
4. KALDANCE LAGRANGE – 2nd on the last two starts, with the latter over 3000m at Wissembourg on May 1st. Looks vulnerable
5. KAFEINE – Unplaced last time, won before that over 2400m on November 12th. Others rate higher
6. KAHULA – Won by 7L on the sole run to date at Haras Du Pin on April 21st over 2350m. Can make progress and be involved
7. KAFKAIENNE – Good 2nd on the sole start at Fontainebleau when not beaten far over 3000m on February 20th. Player
8. KALINE DE L’AIR – Unplaced on the only run so far over 2900m at Durtal on November 1st. Hard to recommend
Summary: KIMI DE MAI (3) is a useful performer and can get a hat-trick of wins this year. She won well last time by five lengths at Nantes earlier this month. Her main threat could be KISS ME SONNE (1) who was a decent fourth in a Group 1 AQ race last time in late November at Fontainebleau. KAHULA (6) bolted up on her debut and looked useful. She can not be overlooked. KAFKAIENNE (7) could be the best option for the each-way backers to latch on to.

1. JEU DE JAMBES – Has consistent form on the flat of late and was 2nd last time over hurdles at Moulins on May 5th. He won a Group 3 AQ race at Saint-Cloud on April 19th over 2500m. Player
2. JEANNETTE – 4th two runs back over 3200m at Lyon La Soie on December 18th, won before that at Pornichet on November 16th over 2400m. One to consider
3. JOE L’AUDACE – Unplaced last time, won before that over 3000m at Le Lion D’Angers on April 1st by 4L. Ought to be in the shake-up
4. KATE TO WIN – Nice 2nd last time at Nantes over 2400m on May 6th and can once again give a good account of herself
5. KARINA SWEEN – Three unplaced runs of late, 2nd before that at Moulins over 2400m in a Group 3 AQ race on September 17th. Has work to do
6. KEL ESPOIR EN JEU – 4th two runs ago in a Group 3 AQ race over 2500m at Saint-Cloud on March 28th. Can not be overlooked
7. KIKEA DU MOU – Won two runs ago over 3000m at Angers on November 22nd. Not up to Group 3 AQ Class last time in mid-April. Opposable
8. KEFIR D’AIRY – Unplaced last time, 3rd before that over 2400m on the PSF on January 18th. Won on debut at Pau in December. Looks vulnerable
9. JIANG LI – 3rd last time over 2800m at Moulins in a conditions race on May 20th. Others make more appeal
10. JOLLY WAY – Credible 2nd last time over 3000m on April 1st behind JOE L’AUDACE (3) when beaten by 4L. Can not be discounted
11. JOYFUL VOICE – Unplaced last time, 3rd before that over 2450m at Cluny on April 13th on her debut. Can be overlooked
Summary: JEU DE JAMBES (1) won a Group 3 AQ race at Saint-Cloud on his latest run on the flat on April 19th and looks like he will be too smart for his rivals. KATE TO WIN (4) could be the one that makes the selection work hard for success. JOE L’AUDACE (3) won well by four lengths last time at Le Lion D’Angers last month and is one to include in all of the place bet permutations. JOLLY WAY (10) heads the remainder.

C5 – PRIX DE DREUILLE – 3000m (a2m) – TURF – Maiden Race – Flat – EUR € 13,000 |
1. RIO GRANDE – Ignore last run over 2000m at Lyon Parilly as has shown that can do way better. Good chance
2. JUWEL – Finished only 7th last time over 2500m in a Handicap at Nancy and will need to serve up plenty more than that for the win
3. FUTURE – Will need to improve plenty on current form and is very hard to make a case for. Dismiss from all bets
4. KELLER DODVILLE – Attractive 3rd in penultimate, finished 5th over 2900m at Clairefontaine on the 20th of October last year. May need but can still win
5. KANSAS DU SEUIL – Looking at current form, is very hard to fancy and she is also very erratic. Unlikely to win and can be passed by
6. RUE D’ALBRET – Improved a lot to notch up a 3rd over 2300m at Angers on the 4th of this month and will have seriously strong each way claims
7. PRINCESSE TANGA – Caught the eye on debut when not far away in 5th at Saint-Brieuc over 2400m on the 9th of this month. Big runner
8. GATSBY GIRL – Has run well in Germany and could feature in local debut. An outsider that can earn. Quartet possibility
9. TRILIA DU FOUQUET – Fair effort last time when 3rd over 2900m at Royan on the 8th of this month. An outsider with a small place chance
Summary: KELLER DODVILLE (4) is lightly tried and already shown glimpses of ability. He is by no means a banker but can certainly win this and is therefore the warm first pick. RUE D’ALBRET (6) more than likely has plenty more progression to offer. Her second effort was very encouraging when 3rd at Angers over 2300m. PRINCESS TANGA (7) finished just off them on debut in 5th at Saint-Brieuc and can improve to get much closer. Bright chance. RIO GRANDE (1) can do better and has a strong place chance.

1. LADY DES BLINS – She has had the experience of one run already when 4th at Royan over 2900m. Can improve to win. Strong claims
2. LUTIER DE FORME – Is out of Bea De Forme whom never won or placed which is a slight concern. Hard to fancy on debut
3. NATURAL LIGHT – A son of Shalaa out of a mare that won four races. A huge effort can be expected on debut but watch the betting
4. MOONDI LISES – A son of Roman candle that might need a run or two to light up to racing. Hard to fancy but the betting will be the best guide
5. LOVELY GUY – A first timer by Beaumec De Houelle out of a Lavirco mare. He could threaten on debut and must be included
6. LAYLA DU BREUIL – A daughter of Roman Candle out of a Martaline mare that could be anything. Respect and include for all bets
7. HOW DARE YOU – Might be able to give some cheek on debut but is likely to be one of the longer shots in the field. Happy to ignore
8. BALKA DES EPEIRES – Daughter of Arakan making her debut and might need a run or two to tighten up. As always, the betting market will be a good guide
9. LOVELYMATCH – Her mother raced 11 times for only 2 places. The daughter of Barathea can find herself in the first three on debut
Summary: NATURAL LIGHT (3) is selected to shine brightly on debut and score. He is by Shalaa out of a Roderic O’Connor mare. Check up on the betting trends before structuring your final bets. LAYLA DU BREUIL (6) is a filly that comes to school for the first time and could earn first up. Include LOVELY MATCH (9) in all bets. LOVELY GUY (5) could be worth including in the quartet first time out.

1. CATCH ON ME – Finished 2nd at the second time of asking over 3200m at Saumur on the 6th of April. Hard to beat. Strong win
2. MADDIE MARIAN – Improving quickly, attractive 3rd over 3100m at Divonne on the 21st of April and can place again. Bright chance
3. KING DE CHANAY – A son of Fly With Me that might need a race or two to learn the trade. Watch the betting. Outside chance
4. KIRWANAKO CHANAY – He is by Tirwanako out of a mare that never raced. Happy to go with others
5. LUSIO – A son of It’s Gino out of a mare that never won a race. Watch the betting trends as race time looms. Include
6. CALME OLYMPIEN – Ignore debut at Orleans over 3400m earlier this month. Expect much more. Place chance
7. KOUTOUZOV – Is by Karaktar out of a two time winning mare that could go close first time at the races. Watch the betting
8. WORKHANN – A son of Arakan out of a Speedster mare. Could be competitive first up. Bright chance
9. FLORYNE – A daughter of Vif Monsieur that might need a run or two to feature. Happy to dismiss on debut as prefer others
10. TAHITIENNE PEARL – Makes her first race course appearance and is likely to be one of the outsiders of the race. Check the markets before striking your bets
11. KAPRIEUSE DU CLOS – Likely to need a run or two to tighten up but the betting trends would be the best guide. Happy to ignore
12. AKAPERHANE – She is a daughter of Nicaron out of a lightly raced mare that placed twice from only two runs. Watch the betting but include and respect in all bets
13. KISS MISS – Daughter of Indomito out a Video Rock mare that could be anything. Outside chance
14. BELISMA – Ignore first experience over 3400m at Dieppe late last year but will probably need it. Prefer others
Summary: CATCH ON ME (1) improved a ton from run one to run two and surely has plenty more to offer. His last run was at Saumur over 3200m. He could be difficult to oppose this time. KOUTOUZOV (7) is a son of Karaktar out of a Dadarissime mare that could go close first up. WORKHANN (8) is a son of Arakan out of a Speedmaster mare that might be able to place on debut. Watch the betting trends. CALME OLYMPIEN (6) can do way better to feature this time.

C1 – PRIX DES GLAIEULS – 2875m (a2m) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 23,000 |
1. LOUVE DE BAIS – In the frame in first 2 before faulting in a 2500m Reims Class E a month ago. Showed her limits that day and will have few takers
2. LASER FIGHTER – Has done nothing but improve since his March debut, latterly 2nd of 7 finishers in a 2675m Class F at Le Mont-Saint-Michel on 10 May, but in this category will need to find more
3. LUXE D’ERABLE – Plainly capable but sanctioned in 4 of 5, most recently a 2950m Saint-Malo Class D a week ago. Showed his form that day though and will have his chances if David Thomain keeps him trotting
4. LA PAIX – Got off the mark in a 2725m Méral Class G 2 weeks ago. Steps up in category and although unlikely to repeat, should still acquit herself competitively
5. LOVE DANCER – 3rd of 6 finishers in a 2450m Caen Class E 3 weeks ago. Can lose focus but is plainly able and looks a respectable first-5 prospect
6. LOLA D’OHARA – Last but one behind LAUTREC D’HERFRAIE (10) in a 2675m Lisieux Class D 2 weeks ago, on return from her spell, and can be ruled out
7. LOOPING MIL – Honest type that defied his 81/1 to trot 4th of 11 in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class D a week ago. Front pads fitted again and is not going to be far off the mark
8. LEMBELIE VERDERIE – Lacklustre here last month but made amends when 2nd of 10 in a 2450m Caen Class E last weekend and it will not be long before she opens her seasonal account
9. LILIAN DU PARADIS – Showed improvement when 4th of 13 in a 2800m Cholet Class D late last month and, with form maintained, can complement his Reims victory
10. LAUTREC D’HERFRAIE – Useful sort that was oddly below-par when 5th of 8 finishers in a 2675m Lisieux Class D 2 weeks ago. Will appreciate the change of scenery and looks capable of making the frame this time
Summary: LILIAN DU PARADIS (9) put in an excellent final kilometre at Cholet late last month; she has had time to freshen up and, in similar form, can impose. It is unlikely to be all plane sailing though, considering how well LEMBELIE VERDERIE (8) performed at Caen recently, and the untapped potential LUXE D’ERABLE (3) has yet to display. LAUTREC D’HERFRAIE (10) is a serious colt for the most part and will be expected to improve on his recent Lisieux performance.

C2 – PRIX FRANCK ANNE – 2875m (a2m) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 21,000 |
1. KRILLE DU BOUILLON – Sanctioned on re-entry but made amends when 2nd of 9 finishers in a 2750m Ecommoy Class F last weekend. Still has more to find but will have her supporters
2. KISS ME JIVE – 6th of 7 finishers in a 2550m Class F at Gournay-en-Bray a week ago and can be disregarded
3. KAMTCHATKA – Capricious filly but has shown potential. Unseen since being sanctioned in a 2750m Cabourg Class E last December though and best to hold off
4. KALIPETTE JELOCA – Promising filly making her first appearance since trotting 3rd in a 2675m Class E at Le Mont-Saint-Michel last August, and will not be given a hard race
5. KEZYA – Made the frame at Laval last month before faulting early in a 2550m Reims Class F 6 days ago. Has a good entry though and, with David Thomain at the helm, can play a leading role
6. KALIMERA FLASH – 5th of 6 finishers in a 2550m Gournay-en-Bray Class F a week ago. Starts in front, with shoes off, and can finally get that maiden monkey off her back
7. KALIE DES ERABLAIS – Unsurprisingly sanctioned in a 2550m Gournay-en-Bray Class F 6 days ago and can be confidently ruled out
8. KALINE FOUR – Never far from faulting but has merit. Unthreatening but respectable 6th of 13 in a 2450m Caen Class E 3 weeks ago, and with her mind on the game, can get a look in
9. KOUMBA MESLOISE – Complicated sort but has ample ability for this category. Has 25m more to travel but with Mathieu Mottier reining, is unlikely to be far off the mark
10. KOCARDE – Won a 2700m Pontivy Class F 3 weeks ago. Clearly in excellent form and, even incurring the handicap, can still figure prominently
11. KALMIA DES NOES – Returns to the harness code after trotting 7th of 12 in a 2450m Caen Class E 8 days ago and, from the back row, appears to have no realistic chance
12. KAPELLA VET – Useful sort making her first appearance since trotting 9th of 14 in a 2100m Vincennes Class E on 6 January. Shoes on this time but still has the wherewithal to pick up some prizemoney
13. KASSIOPEE WIND – 7th of 13, when shod for re-entry, in a 2450m Caen Class E 3 weeks ago. Stays shod again but will have come on for the run and will not be far from the action
Summary: An honest filly with decent right-handed credentials, KALIMERA FLASH (6) races barefoot for the first time and looks thoroughly capable of making her Argentan debut a winning one. Etienne Lefranc can still expect to encounter resistance from KALIMERA FLASH (6), provided she can stay in stride, and the same caveat applies to KOUMBA MESLOISE (9) who, even from the 2nd line, has a chance to go close. KOCARDE (10) has gone from strength to strength this term and is not incapable of confirming her Pontivy success.

C3 – PRIX DU JOURNAL DE L’ORNE – 2875m (a2m) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 21,000 |
1. KOZAK CAUVELLIERE – Surprise 3rd of 14, at 140/1, in a 2700m Graignes Class F on 18 April. Comes here fresh but a repeat seems improbable
2. KITO DU BOUILLON – Respectable type that trotted 5th, a place behind KINDER DANOVER (5), in a 3000m Châteaubriant Class F last weekend, but is not about to repeat
3. KANTOUTSTART – 6th of 13, behind KINDER DANOVER (5), in a 2800m Class F at Villedieu-les-Poëles 3 weeks ago. Is considerably better than that and with David Thomain reining, will have his chances
4. KOPECK DU LOUVET – 2nd of 8 finishers in a 2825m Vire Class F on 8 May. Is barefoot for Argentan debut and has never disappointed for Mathieu Mottier. Place prospect
5. KINDER DANOVER – Respectable colt that finished 4th of 13 in a 3000m Châteaubriant Class F a week ago. Has little room for manoeuvre but can still make first 5
6. KANSAS DU HOCTI – Modest individual making first appearance since faulting in a 2700 Class E at Le Croisé-Laroche late-November, and will have few friends
7. KNOX JENILOU – Has merit but not easy to handle, most recently 8th of 10 finishers in a 2200m Caen Class E. Shoes back on though and looks capable of getting a look-in
8. KALOU D’IROISE – Has been struggling over recent months, latterly sanctioned in a 2800m Tours Class E 2 weeks ago, and is unlikely to shake things up
9. KADOR DE LA COUR – Returns to a hard surface after trotting 7th of 14 in a 2800m Tours Class E a fortnight back. Should appreciate Argentan conditions and is not about to disappoint again
10. KSAR DU RIEU – Lost his action in a 2675m Lisieux Class E 2 weeks ago, but has won at this level and, if focused, can open his Argentan account
11. KARAMEL TENDRE – Showed promise last season but off the boil this term, most recently last of 11 in a 2675m Lisieux Class E mid-month, and can be passed over
Summary: Sanctioned twice after having won at Caen, KSAR DU RIEU (10) has no shortage of talent and can win this if Marius Coignard manages to keep him trotting. That said, KANTOUTSTART (3) benefits from an excellent entry in front and can give him something to think about. KOPECK DU LOUVET (4) reassured at Vire earlier in the month and, barefoot again, will have his chances. Oddly below-par last time out, KADOR DE LA COUR (9) is plainly in fine shape and will be expected to make amends.

1. JOYEUSE DU HOULME – 9th of 14 in a 3125m Rânes Class H 6 days ago. Shoes off this time but still not an obvious choice
2. JAMAIQUE DE MADKER – 3rd in a Vire Class F before faulting in a 2575m Class F at Gournay-en-Bray 2 weeks ago. Faces a stiff test this time and others preferred
3. JUNAKA MELODY – Lost her action on re-entry in a 2750m Class E at La Capelle earlier this month. Shoes still on and best to wait
4. JOIE DE CORTEM – Sanctioned on comeback in a 2750m Class F at Le Grand-Fougeray on 9 May. Disappointing for some time, shoes back on, and has nothing to offer
5. JAZERANE – Debuts at the venue after coming 6th of 14, on re-entry, in a 2900m Challans Class G on 28 April. Will have come on for the run and can figure prominently
6. JOSTA – 6th of 8 finishers, on re-entry, in a 2200m Caen Class F 8 days ago. Shoes on again and best to hold off
7. JUST DO IT LOVELY – Complicated type but came a reassuring 4th of 9 in a 2825m Vire Class F on 8 May. Races first time barefoot, starts in front, and could pleasantly surprise
8. JOIE DES ILES – Last but one in a 2800m Tours Class F a fortnight ago. Much better when unshod and chances limited
9. JET SET AIMEF – 5th of 15 in a 2825m Durtal Class F 6 days ago. Races shod this time and is not about to shake things up
10. JOLIE FLEUR DU LOT – Yet to get her nose in front but is an honest mare, latterly 5th, a place behind JUST DO IT LOVELY (7) in a 2825m Vire Class F on 8 May. Just front shoes off this time but worth keeping an eye on all the same
11. JAVA DE GARAMBEAU – Back in shape after a slow start to 2024, most recently 4th of 14 in a 2800m Cholet Class G on 1 May. Takes on some better horses this time, but benefits from a front-row break, and should hold her own
12. JAMAICA PIYA – Has ample ability but never far from faulting, which she proved in a 2750m Elbeuf Class F 3 weeks ago. Has otherwise been in fine condition and with Mathieu Mottier reining can start to set the record straight
13. JEEP DE DALINE – Has not been seen out since securing the double in a 2750m Cabourg Class E on 5 January. Stays shod for re-entry and can be passed over
14. JAVA DU CHERISAY – Unremarkable 6th of 16 in a 2950m Le Mans Class F on 8 May. Shoes on and prospects slim
15. JACOVIA MADRIK – 3rd of 10 in a 2750m Elbeuf Class F 3 weeks ago. Goes barefoot again but, at this level, will have too much to do
16. JOCONDE DE RHEVE – Returned to winning ways 8 days ago in a 2800m Vichy Class E. Loïc Guinoiseau reining this time but still has every chance of pulling off the double
17. JADESKA – 6th of 11 finishers in a 2675m Lisieux Class E mid-month, which was preceded by 2 decent performances and, with an incident-free trip, can challenge for a step on the podium
18. JOSY DES LANDES – Winner of a 2750m Ecommoy Class E last weekend. Has references here and is in with a shout of securing a 4th victory of 2024
Summary: Perfectly-engaged at the limit of earnings, JOSY DES LANDES (18) returned to winning ways just 8 days ago and, given how well she has performed here this year, confirmation would be no surprise. Sébastien Hardy will nevertheless be staying vigilant of JOCONDE DE RHEVE (16) who was victorious at Vichy on the same day, and JAMAICA PIYA (12) who will be dangerous if she deigns to stay in stride. JADESKA (17) is clearly in decent shape and while unlikely to impose, can still pick up a place cheque.

1. JUST HAUFOR – Consistently in the mix before being sent for a break after coming 3rd of 10 in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class F last November. Stays shod for comeback and best to wait
2. JACKSON FISH – Pleasantly surprised with victory in a 2825m Vire Class F earlier this month. Just front pads fitted this time and steps up in class, but still warrants respect
3. JULIUS ECUS – Disappointing on the whole since returning from a break. 9th of 11 in a 2575m Gournay-en-Bray Class F 2 weeks ago, but hind shoes off this time and, from the front row can give this a good go
4. JOKER VANCEEN – Useful sort returning to the harness code after coming 6th of 8 in a 2625m monté Class F at La Rochelle 6 days ago. Front pads fitted this time but will still have his supporters
5. JOKER BODENSEE – 5th of 9 finishers in a 2550m Class F at Gournay-en-Bray last weekend. Shoes on this time and will have little to offer
6. JOYEUX DE L’INAM – 8th of 10 in a 2600m Morlaix Class F a fortnight ago. Has some ability though and the new configuration may be just the ticket. One to note
7. JELLINO SPRINT – Unraced since faulting in a 2775m monté Class E at Les Sables-d’Olonne last September, and has other priorities
8. JEFF DES CAILLONS – Last of 5 in a 3000m Class F at Le Neuborg last Monday and can be ruled out
9. JEWEL DU NORD – Has struggled in both codes for some time, most recently sanctioned in a 2550m monté Class H at Gournay-en-Bray a fortnight ago. Shoes on and no threat
10. JUDOKA – Decent 4th of 13, on comeback, in a 2400m Châteaubriant Class F last weekend. Will have come on for the run and, from the front line, can put on a good show
11. JUSTE DE MELLERAY – Decent campaigner lower down the ladder on turf, but has not been seen out since trotting 4th of 14 in a 2650m Alençon Class E last October, and is not about to spring a surprise
12. JAZZ PASSION – Back under harness after winning a 2800m Villedieu-les-Poëles monté Class F 3 weeks ago. Here for a change of scenery and can be passed over
13. JAGUAR DU RIB – Was still being conditioned when last of 14 in a 2850m Laval Class E a month back. Shoes on again and cannot be considered a player
14. JOHNNY BE GOOD ER – Imposed at Saint-Brieuc before faulting in a 2825m Vire Class F on 8 May, but David Thomain will be loathe to let the same thing happen again. Chance
15. JAZZ VERONE – Was on a fine run of form before coming 6th of 12 in a 2800m Tours Class F a fortnight ago. Placed at Argentan earlier in the year and will be expected to show improvement
16. JUSTAUCORPS – Surprising 2nd of 12 in a 2750m Ecommoy Class E early last month. Pleased on lone appearance here but others still preferred
17. JAGUAR FLORAL – Sanctioned in first 2 this year before winning the next 2, most recently with ease in a 2825m Vire Class F earlier in the month, and makes his Argentan debut with justified ambition
18. JIMMY DU CLOS – Got straight down to business on re-entry, winning a 2800m Tours Class F in fine fashion. Is confirmed here and looks main danger to JAGUAR FLORAL (17)
Summary: The key appears to be situated on the back line here, with the complicated but talented JAGUAR FLORAL (17) realistically bidding for his hat-trick with Mathieu Mottier reining for the first time. Sent for a break after winning at Angers, JIMMY DU CLOS (18) picked up where he left off and is once again in with a claim. JOHNNY BE GOOD ER (14) is another spirited element but rarely disappoints when focused, and must be taken seriously. JUDOKA (10) is 25m better off, races barefoot this time around, and the nature of his comeback run bodes well for his chances.

C6 – PRIX JEAN-RENE GOUGEON – 2875m (a2m) – Class D Race – Harness – EUR € 27,000 |
1. IDEALE D’ARCEY – Sanctioned in last 4, most recently a 2750m Elbeuf Class F 3 weeks ago, and can expect to have few, if any, takers
2. IRINA DU GLAY – Starts for the first time since faulting in a 2825m Chartres Class E 12 months ago and will need the outing
3. I AM DE LA COUR – Off the boil in both codes this term, most recently sanctioned in a 3000m monté Class H at Le Neuborg last weekend, and will have few friends
4. IRIS DE TROUVILLE – Unexceptional 5th of 11 in a 2525m Class F at Savigny-sur-Braye on 9 May. Shoes on this time and can be disregarded
5. ILLICO DE VAU – 6th of 17, when preparing for this, in a 2825m Durtal Class F last weekend but is never easy to trust and others preferred
6. ILONA DE NERET – 6th of 9 finishers in a 2750m Class E at La Capelle 3 weeks ago. Has merit, enjoys a good entry, and can pick up a minor place cheque
7. INDIAN PACIFIC – Has bags of ability but went cold late last season. Unraced since being pulled-up in a 2700m Vincennes Class D on Christmas Eve and with shoes on will have little to give
8. IRENO DES PLAINES – Erratic trotter that imposed at Caen before coming 9th of 11 in a 2150m Vichy Class B 2 weeks ago. Drops back in category and has every chance of making first 5 this time
9. IDEAL BOY – Faithful element that simply flew up in a 3000m Nantes Class D on 9 May. Has won numerous times racing clockwise and can pick up another success
10. IVANA DES RACQUES – Surprise winner of a 2400m Amiens Class F 3 weeks ago. On back line here but can still give this a good go. First-5 chance
11. IXELLE BLEUE – Unplaced when preparing for this in a 2600m Class F at Le Touquet last weekend. Has nothing to prove at this level and will be expected to finish close
12. INDIEN DE FONTAINE – Quality element that was surprisingly sanctioned in a 3500m Class F at Savigny-sur-Braye earlier in the month, but is shod as he likes this time and will be no easy touch
13. ISIS D’HERFRAIE – Excellent servant with an entry-made-in-heaven. 2nd of 13 in a 2100m Vincennes Class E a month ago and, with form maintained, can make a big splash on her Argentan debut
Summary: A tough individual that seldom lets the side down, IDEAL BOY (9) was simply brilliant at Nantes and, in similar form and going barefoot for the occasion, should be sharp enough to deny the superbly-engaged ISIS D’HERFRAIE (13) who has been in cracking form this year, and the versatile INDIEN DE FONTAINE (12) who is shod to preference for his return to Argentan. IXELLE BLEUE (11) pleased on re-entry before being conditioned at Le Touquet and should logically put things right.

C7 – PRIX DES DAHLIAS – 2875m (a2m) – Class F Race – Harness – EUR € 27,000 |
1. HORACE DE LOUTE – Disappointing this year. Faulted a fortnight ago in a 2575m Class H at Gournay-en-Bray and, even with hind shoes off, is out of his depth
2. HORACE – Sanctioned in a 3000m Class E at Le Neuborg last weekend, but is no longer the horse he once was and can be passed over
3. GIRLY D’HUON – Lost her way at the end of last summer and has picked up this term where she left off, latterly 12 of 16 in a 2650m Alençon Class F 2 weeks ago, and can be ruled out
4. HELIE RENARDIERE – Returned from her break in excellent shape, most recently 3rd of 14 in a 2600m Class F at Blain-Bouvron-Le Gâvre late-April. David Thomain reining and, from the front line, can make her presence felt
5. HELIOS DE VANDEL – Came 2nd in a minor claimer before finishing 14th of 16 in a 2800m Rambouillet Class F on 21 April. Can trot when applied but still no more than a minor place chance
6. GRABUGE – Quality element that goes either direction. 3rd of 11 in a 2850m Maure-de-Bretagne Class F a fortnight ago and is would be no surprise to see him trot his way into the frame
7. GOLDEN SAUTONNE – Erratic type making first start since being sanctioned in a 2550m Bordeaux Class E late-December. Shoes on and no danger
8. FIGARO GEMA – Unexceptional these days, sanctioned mid-month in a 2725m Lisieux Class E, and even racing barefoot, can expect to have few takers
9. HOLLYWOOD NIGHT – Won at Cherbourg a month ago before missing out by little in a 3000m Nantes Class E on 9 May. Pleased on only start here and looks a serious contender for the spoils
10. GASPARD – Capable element but stays shod for comeback, not having raced since coming 5th of 11 in a 2725m Graignes Class E last September, and will need the run
11. GOSPEL VET – Unremarkable 6th behind HAZILYS (13) in a 2850m Maure-de-Bretagne Class E late-April, but will be fully-fit by now and is unlikely to disappoint
12. HAS DE COEUR – Made the frame at Mauquenchy before faulting in a 2450m Caen Class E on 22 April. Sanctioned on only Argentan start but is no slouch when applied and will garner support
13. HAZILYS – Fine campaigner that came 4th of 8 finishers in a 2850m Maure-de-Bretagne Class E late last month. Is better racing clockwise though and can wrap this up
14. FARSIGHT ABSOLUTE – Last of 8, on re-entry, in a 2800m Cholet Class F mid-month. Shoes on again and has nothing to offer
15. GEDEON DAIRPET – Disappointing since the layoff, most recently last of 10 in a 2800m Carhaix Class F early last month, and is unlikely to cause an upset
16. GOGO DES MALBERAUX – 5th of 14 in a 2850m Vincennes Class D earlier this month. Enjoys a good entry and, in this company, looks a respectable place prospect
17. GENERAL MITCHELL – Benefits from a good engagement but will need to improve on last weekend’s 8th of 17 in a 2825m Durtal Class F
Summary: HAZILYS (13) took no time getting back in shape following the winter break and, sporting modified shoeing, has every chance of winning a race of this nature. Mathieu Mottier will still be keeping a sharp eye on HOLLYWOOD NIGHT (9) who has hardly put a foot wrong lately. It is only a matter of time before the good GOSPEL VET (11) comes good again but he is unbeaten in 2 Argentan starts and returns to the venue with a competitive hand to play. GOGO DES MALBERAUX (16) takes a dip in category, reverts to racing with front pads, and will not be far from the action if he can replicate his Vincennes performance.

1. KIEV DE L’ITON – Sanctioned, for the 4th time in 5 starts, in a 2550m Class H at Gournay-en-Bray last week, and can be written off
2. KAMELIA LUDOISE – Last of 11 in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class F 6 days ago. Has shown little aptitude for either code and, barefoot or not, can be ruled out
3. KALIN DU TRESOR – Makes his first appearance since pulling off the double in a 2450m Caen Class F on 11 March, and has every chance of returning home with his unbeaten status intact
4. KIDAM DU METZ – Lost his maiden tag on 8 May in a 2750m Elbeuf Class F. Steps up in category but can get in on the action if still on the boil
5. KLEM – Last of 10 in a 2675m harness Class F at Le Mont-Saint-Michel on 10 May. Has solid monté credentials though, sports a new configuration, and must be respected
6. KAVIVE – Has done nothing but improve this term, most recently getting off the mark in a 2700m Graignes Class F 2 weeks ago. In better company this time but still looks a serious player
7. KASH GAGOU – Last of 9 in a 2450m Caen Class E 3 weeks ago. Pleased on lone appearance at the venue but still needs to raise his game
8. KAPORAL GAME – Modest 5th of 8 finishers in a 2850m Laval Class E on 2 May. Unshod-all-4 this time, racing clockwise, and is in with a realistic shout of imposing
9. KEV DE JAFA – 8th of 9, when preparing for this in a 3200m Fougères harness Class F on 1 May. Races shod this time but is still worth keeping an eye on
10. KARAMEL JOYEUX – Faulted in a 2700m Méral harness Class F a fortnight ago. Sanctioned in last 2 under the saddle and will have few takers
11. KANOIS DE LATOUR – Failed to pull off the hat-trick when 3rd of 9 finishers in a 2450m Caen Class F one 22 April, but with a trouble-free run, can impose
12. KARLA D’AVENIR – Started to get back in the game when 2nd of 8 finishers in a 2750m Class F at La Capelle 3 weeks ago and will be no pushover if Jean-Loïc Claude Dersoir keeps her trotting
13. KAYENNE – Has not been seen out since finishing last of 8 in a 2875m Enghien Class E early-March. Races first time barefoot and will generate some interest
Summary: KALIN DU TRESOR (3) has enjoyed quite the resurgence since switching codes and, fresh for his hat-trick bid, will justifiably garner significant support. Mathieu Mottier will still want to be wary of the capable KAPORAL GAME (8) who races barefoot for the first time, and recent Graignes winner KAVIVE (6) who is not far from winning another. KANOIS DE LATOUR (11) keeps on getting better and is sure to finish in the mix.
