Summary: KINGSCROSS (7) lacks race experience but is the selection on her first try over fences. She looks the type to do well over the larger obstacles. KRISNA (8) is also making her chase debut and could be the one that gives the selection the most to do. KATOVICE (6) also has no experience over fences but is one for the place backers to look at. KLAIRE SECRETE (5) has been second over fences on her latest two runs and can not be overlooked.

Summary: MAMBONUMBERFIVE (4) was not quite up to the Listed Class last time at this track but was a decent third on his debut before that in March and is expected to get off the mark. THE WORKAHOLIC (3) is a threat and seems to be improving with race experience. SHOKDOR (5) can make the frame and is the each-way option after a pleasing run at this track when second on debut. SAIL ON (2) makes up the shortlist.

Summary: The well-bred CHLOE DU BERLAIS (7) will be well-tuned and ready to make a winning debut. Her dam was a top-class performer who won at Grade 1 Class over hurdles. She can score from MURCIA (2) who has run well on both her starts, with the latter over hurdles in mid-May when third. KADOVER (1) has plenty of hurdling experience and can not be overlooked. NAIROBI D’OROUX (6) won at Dax in a lower-class hurdle last time but will improve from that and could be the main threat to the selection. THE MUST (11) has a nice pedigree and his dam was a useful hurdler (Grade 3 winner). From the David Cottin yard who can ready a newcomer.  LETOS (2) is worth a mention.

10. KROISADE – 2nd behind SISSI DU MESNIL (2) in a Class 1 chase on May 8th last time when beaten 10L. Needs more but can not be ruled out

11. KOUCA DE THAIX – Won last time at Auteuil in a Class 4 chase on May 4th over 3500m. Placed in a Class 2 hurdle at this track last October. Among the leading place chances

Summary: SISSI DU MESNIL (2) bolted up by 10L in a Class 1 chase at this track last time and holds strong claims of following up in this Listed event. KROISADE (10) was second to the selection when they met last time at this track and has a good bit of ground to make up but she can make more of a race of it this time. ROYAL SAGA (4) and KOUCA DE THAIX (11) are both worth considering and can fight it out for minor honours.

R2 CABOURG [R-H]
C1 – PRIX DE CANISY – 2750m (a1m1/2) – Class D Race – Mounted – EUR € 24,000

1. LAURIANA BELLA – Untried filly that qualified 1’19”1 under the saddle at Caen a month back. Is very well-related and can expect to garner the lion’s share of support

2. LA CHENEVIERE – Career debutante that qualified in 1’18”3 under the saddle at Caen on 24 April. Faces a relatively modest task first time out and can play a leading role

3. LEA MADJI – Qualified in 1’19”0 under the saddle at Caen late April before faulting in a 2450m Class E at the same venue 2 weeks ago. Thibaut Dromigny onboard this time and can get in on the action

4. LILOU DE VAU – Sanctioned late-April, first time out, before coming last of 8 finishers in a 2300m Le Mans Class E on 8 May. Front pads fitted but a minor place chance at best

5. LYRIC – Qualified respectably at Meslay in February but was quickly sanctioned in a 2850m Laval harness Class E 9 days ago. Alexis Collette in the irons this time but still faces a stiff test

6. LIBERTY SPEED – Qualified in 1’18”7 at Meslay late-March but disappointing 7th of 8 finishers in a 2300m Le Mans Class E on debut early-May. Has been afforded a chance to redeem herself and looks competitively well-in

7. L’ETOILE DE GINAI – Sanctioned, at 129/1, in a 2200m Caen harness Class E late-April, and debuts under the saddle with limited ambition

8. LOLYROK D’OURVILLE – Switches code after being sanctioned in both harness starts to date, latterly a 2725m Lisieux Class F last weekend, and already looks out of her depth

9. LEVADIA – Pleasant 4th of 11 in a 2250m Class E at Maure-de-Bretagne 3 weeks ago. Is not about to shake things up but should nevertheless hold her own

10. LIBERTA DEL PHEDO – Encouraged at Caen late-April before faulting in a 2300m Le Mans Class E on 8 May. Debuts at Cabourg and can play a small part if she keeps trotting

11. L’ODYSSEE MESLOISE – Showed a better side to herself a fortnight ago when 3rd of 7 finishers in a 2450 Caen Class E. Sports front pads this time and is unlikely to disappoint

12. LOUNA D’ESTIEU – Distant 5th of 6 in a 2300m Châteaubriant Class E last weekend. Has yet to excel in either code and can be ruled out

13. LA REINE DE BEYLEV – Makes first start since coming last of 7 in a 2700m Vincennes Class C early-February.  Has had time to get her house in order though and, in this company, can figure prominently

Summary: Full-sister to the excellent Kandora Bella, winner of last year’s Saint-Léger des Trotteurs, LAURIANA BELLA (1) acquitted herself well in qualification and, if as good in competition, can get straight down to business. Camille Levesque will still be keeping an eye on the similarly untried LA CHENEVIERE (2) whose own qualification did not go without notice. L’ODYSSEE MESLOISE (11) showed marked improvement at Caen recently and debuts at Cabourg with front pads fitted and a good hand to play. Already a winner under the saddle, LA REINE DE BEYLEV (13) returns refreshed and can start to get back in the game.

C2 – PRIX DE FERMANVILLE – 2050m (a1m1/4) – Class E Race – Harness – EUR € 21,000

1. LADOTA PRIOR – Faulted in last 2, most recently when favourite, in a 2450m Caen Class E 2 weeks ago but, with application, can play a small part

2. LIBELLULE VERGNIER – Pleased in first 2 before losing her maiden tag in a 2150m Rânes Class G on 20 May. Top driver at the helm this time and is not going to be far from the action at the business end of the race

3. LADY DU POMMEAU – Was a bit spirited when 5th of 7 finishers in a 2450m Caen Class E but is clearly in shape. Should appreciate Cabourg profile and from the 3-spot can lose her maiden tag

4. LA DAME DE COEUR – Debuted nicely late-April before winning a 2750m Ecommoy Class F 3 weeks later. Well-placed on the front line and must be respected

5. L’ENCYCLOPEDIE – Sprang quite the surprise when winning a 2500m Class F at La Rochelle on debut 12 days ago and will not be sent out at 29/1 this time around. Chance

6. LA BELLE MIKA – Has shown decent aptitude and dependability so far, most recently 5th of 13 in a 2550m Reims Class E on 20 May, and can again make first 5

7. LOLLIPOP TIVO – Has done nothing but improve since her mid-April debut, latterly winning a 2800m Tours Class F 3 weeks ago, but may be taking on too much this time around

8. LIBEREE DES FORGES – Showed improvement when 2nd of 9 in a 2150m Durtal Class G late last month. Hind pads fitted for the first time but others still easier to support

9. LEANE DU PARC – 7th to LIBELLULE VERGNIER (2) in a 2150m Rânes Class G on 20 May and needs to find something special

10. LIBRE D’ESTHER – Won on debut early last month before faulting 2 weeks later in a 2475m Royan La Palmyre Class F and cannot be considered a priority

11. LAMYA DES LIARDS – Unexceptional filly that could manage no closer than 5th of 11 behind LIBELLULE VERGNIER (2) in a 2150m Rânes Class G on 20 May, and can be passed over

12. LAIKA DE JAUDRAIS – Appears to have found her feet, most recently 3rd of 9 in a 2300m Bernay Class E 3 weeks ago, but has little going for her here

13. LANDELINA – 2nd of 9 in a 2600m Class F at Le Touquet a fortnight ago but takes a notable step up and from the back row, will struggle to make much of an impact

14. LOVELY CHARMES – Won over 2750m here last December. 8th of 9 finishers, on re-entry in a 2700m Class E at La Capelle 3 weeks ago. 4 pads fitted this time and, despite the draw, can put things right

Summary: Twice runner-up before coming 5th at Caen last time out, LADY DU POMMEAU (3) has been handed an excellent draw and looks thoroughly capable of getting off the mark. A winner on debut here last December before being put away, LOVELY CHARMES (14) has, in contrast, been landed with an unfavourable number but has already won here and is not incapable of repeating. L’ENCYCLOPEDIE (5) confirmed her qualification with a debut victory recently and is sufficiently well-positioned to give this a good go. LIBELLULE VERGNIER (2) steps up in class after winning at Rânes and the engagement of Yoann Lebourgeois can make all the difference.

1. INSTINCT DE L’OREE – Won at Vire early last month before trotting 3rd of 12 in a 2550m Gournay-en-Braye Class F 2 weeks ago, but bites off more than he can chew this time

2. ISIDORE BONHEUR – Sanctioned in both since returning to competition, latterly a 2200m Caen Class D on Wednesday. Shoes off this time but still not easy to make a case

3. ILLINOIS – Pleased under the saddle 3 weeks ago before finishing last but one in a 2800m harness Class F at Villedieu-les-Poëles on 20 May. Has little love for Cabourg though and others preferred

4. INDIGO BEACH – Put to bed a brace of sanctions when 3rd of 14 in a 2675m Class G at Le Mont-Saint-Michel 3 weeks ago, but is in more exalted company this time and chances limited

5. IDEAL DU GROIZEAU – 6th of 10 in a 2950m Vichy Class F on 6 May. Switches to pads this time but can still get a look-in

6. INES D’HERMES – 9th of 15 in a 2850m Laval harness Class E freshener a fortnight ago. Will be fully fit by now and returns to the monté discipline with a good hand to play

7. HORCHATA – 3rd at Caen late-April before coming 12th of 16 in a 2700m Graignes harness Class F 3 weeks ago. Goes barefoot this time but is still being aimed too high

8. IGGY DE FLORANGE – Hard to fault this term, most recently 2nd of 11 in a 2525m Class F at Savigny-sur-Braye on 9 May, and the new formula will only work in his favour

9. INTUITION JIEL – Hardy campaigner with a fine Cabourg record. Last but one in a 2800m Strasbourg harness Class E conditioner but with hind shoes off for a return to her code of preference, looks the one to beat

10. ISATIS DES TOUCHES – Solid as a rock all season, most recently 4th of 8 in a 2875m Meslay-du-Maine Class F a fortnight ago. Not a leading contender but can still pick up a slice of the pie

11. HASARD BLOND – Made a solid comeback early last month before coming 13th of 15 next time in a 2825m Durtal Class F 2 weeks ago. Untried here but has good monté references and is not about to disappoint

12. HARIBO DU SURF – Flattered by his 5th place behind HORCHATA (7) in a 2450m Caen Class E late-April and will need to find considerably more

13. ISCO DE CORDAY – 3rd of 4 finishers in a 2825m Class F at Le Croisé-Laroche 10 days ago. Thrives with his jockey of the day, and will be competitive for the win

Summary: Unplaced in her Strasbourg harness freshener a fortnight ago, INTUITION JIEL (9) returns to a track she appreciates and, with hind shoes off, will be expected to get straight back down to business. INES D’HERMES (6) has 2 races in her since the break, goes barefoot for the occasion, and looks the principal threat. ISCO DE CORDAY (13) has been giving a fine account of himself recently, enjoys a terrific entry, and must be considered a leading protagonist. On a fine run of form in 2024, IGGY DE FLORANGE (8) is close to his race and will benefit from a more competitive configuration.

C4 – PRIX DE FEUGERES – 2050m (a1m1/4) – Class F Race – Harness – EUR € 18,500

1. KRACANTE A JOJO – Pleasantly surprising 2nd of 8 finishers in a 2850m Laval Class F a fortnight back. Has the inside line but others still easier to back

2. KRYSEIS – Back to productivity since starting to race unshod, most recently 2nd of 9 finishers in a 2550m Gournay-en-Bray Class F on 20 May, and looks main threat to KITTY PIYA (6)

3. KIMBILA – Won a 2400m Amiens Class F smartly on 4 May. Has a good spot behind the car and can again get her nose in front

4. KARTOUCHE DE BAIS – Reliability not her strong suit but opened her account in a 2400m Amiens Class F on 4 May. Faces a stiffer test this time but is suitably well-positioned to put on a good show

5. KAIPIRINHA – Produced 2 good efforts before faulting in a 3000m Class F at Le Neubourg 12 days ago. Well-placed in front and, if focused, can finish in the mix

6. KITTY PIYA – 5th of 10 finishers on re-entry in a 2450m Caen Class E a fortnight ago. Is ideally-engaged here and unlikely to disappoint. Claim

7. KALYNKA LANDING – Unlucky 5th of 12 in a 2700m Class F at La Capelle early last month. Is clearly in decent form but will not have it her own way here

8. KHALEESI DE MALAC – Modest type that could manage only 7th of 9 in a 2450m Caen Class E on Wednesday. Backs up barefoot but others still preferred

9. KORBA DE GODREL – Lost her maiden status late-April, winning a 2575m Gournay-en-Bray claimer, but in this company will have little to offer

10. KALIAH DES LANDES – Honest filly but never the most threatening, latterly 6th of 12 finishers in a 2800m Bernay Class E 3 weeks ago. Has merit though and, even in spite of the draw, should not be ruled out

11. KALINKA DU HOME – Won at Saint-Malo mid-April before coming 3rd of 12 in a 2500m Reims Class F a fortnight later. Comes here fresh and can play a role if Alexis Collette successfully navigates the start

12. KYUSHU – Still chasing that elusive first win but finished 3rd, a place behind KRYSEIS (2) in a 2550m Gournay-en-Bray Class F on 20 May. On the back line but will still have her supporters

13. KARINA DU LOUVET – Sanctioned in all 7 starts to date and can expect to have few friends

14. KAROLYNE DE MALAC – Unremarkable sort that was sanctioned in a 2750m Elbeuf Class F on 8 May. Handed a tough draw here and is not about to shake things up

Summary: A winner at Caen already last season, KITTY PIYA (6) made a good comeback a fortnight ago and, racing first time barefoot, can make her Cabourg debut a winning one. Runner-up in her last two, the well-positioned KRYSEIS (2) is also unshod-all-4 and must be taken seriously. François Lagadeuc could not have asked for a better draw for KIMBILA (3) who is out to confirm her Amiens victory. KAIPIRINHA (5) has looked a different horse this season and can make an impact if Sébastien Ernault keeps her trotting.

1. JIMBO SPORT – Modest individual with little aptitude for either discipline and can be disregarded

2. JASMINE DE LYONS – Capable mare that warmed up for this with a surprising 4th of 7 finishers in a 2700m Graignes harness Class E 8 days ago. Takes on a decent bunch this time but should nevertheless hold her own

3. JOIE DES VENTES – Authoritative winner of a 2725m Lisieux Class E on 13 May. Has won twice in 4 with Adrien Lamy and is eminently capable of continuing the productive run

4. JACKPOT DE NILREM – Caused a 143/1 surprise when 6th to JET DU RAVARY (11) in a 2450m Caen Class E 2 weeks ago. Barefoot this time but others still preferred

5. JEDI – 7th of 12, on re-entry, in a 2700m Graignes Class D a month ago. Has solid Cabourg credentials and, considering his potential, could pleasantly surprise

6. JAVRILLON – Has shown marked improvement, latterly coming 2nd of 7 finishers in a 2850m Maure-de-Bretagne Class F late-April, but in this category will have his work cut out

7. JEDEO DES VAUX – Produced a 25/1 surprise when 3rd of 12 in a 2750m Class F at La Capelle 3 weeks ago. Sports modified shoeing but a repeat seems improbable

8. JAGUAR DU RIB – Faces first test of the season, with 4 pads fitted, after being sanctioned in a 2875m Argentan harness Class E 6 days ago. Has previously won at the venue and, with application, can get in on the action

9. JE TE PROMETS – Has hardly put a foot out of line all year. Runner-up to JUST ME NESLE (13) in a 3000m Châteaubriant Class E a fortnight ago and has a decent chance of making first 5

10. JUNINIO FLEURY – Switches back to the monté code after coming 6th of 8 in a 2950m Saint-Malo harness Class E 2 weeks ago, and is unlikely to spring any surprises

11. JET DU RAVARY – Won under harness last month and has scored twice under the saddle since, latterly with ease in a 2450m Caen Class E a fortnight ago, and will be expected to confirm

12. JUSQUIAME – Never threatening when sanctioned in a 2725m Lisieux Class E mid-May and others easier to back

13. JUST ME NESLE – Winner of his last 2 barefoot monté starts, most recently a 3000m Châteaubriant Class E 2 weeks ago, and will be competitive for a place cheque

14. JEZABEL MAHCATH – Last of 9 when preparing for this in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class E 2 weeks ago. Has never disappointed barefoot at Cabourg and will have her supporters

15. JAMAIQUE DAIRPET – 4th of 11 in a 2750m Elbeuf harness Class F conditioner early last month. Hind shoes off for the occasion and can challenge for a place on the podium

16. JAZZMAN IDEF – Last of 8 in a 2950m Saint-Malo harness Class E conditioner a fortnight back. Won 4 on the trot earlier this year, is unshod-behind for the occasion, but the step up in category may be a step too far

17. JUST PACHA – Tenacious winner of a 2800m Cholet Class D mid-May. Is proven at Cabourg and is in with a realistic shout

Summary: Temperamental he might be but there is no doubting the form JET DU RAVARY (11) is currently in and has every chance of pulling off the 3-timer. That said, Guillaume Martin will want to be wary of the well-engaged JUST PACHA (17) who has won 2 of his last 4, and JOIE DES VENTES (3) who won unopposed at Lisieux last time out. JAMAIQUE DAIRPET (15) is seldom seen under the saddle but has solid references and, with hind shoes off, looks a player.

1. KAJARO – Twice a winner last season, and recently finished last of 10 on comeback in a 2600m Meslay-du-Maine Class E mid-May. Will have come on for the run and is well-placed to finish in first 5 this time

2. KOOPLES DE LARRE – Seldom manages to express himself, as he showed in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class F, but has potential, and racing barefoot may be just the ticket to his redemption

3. KOITRO DE QUERY – Oddly below-par 7th of 10 finishers in a 2675m Class F at Le Mont-Saint-Michel 3 weeks ago, but breaks from the 3-spot and can set the record straight

4. KADOR D’OURVILLE – Unlucky to be sanctioned in a 2600m Meslay-du-Maine Class E mid-May. Form is sure and can win this if François Lagadeuc keeps him out of trouble

5. KALOU LA TRIGALE – Unexceptional trotter that finished last but one in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class F 2 weeks ago and can be disregarded

6. KIKAR DE BEYLEV – In the frame in 3 starts this term before faulting in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class F 2 weeks ago. Starts wide but reverts to a proven configuration and may be worth a second look

7. KUROSIO DES LOVES – Made up for his Reims sanction with victory in a 2400m Amiens Class F a month ago and can play a prominent part if his driver manages to negate the draw

8. KINDER DANOVER – Has been handling himself well of late, most recently 5th of 10 in a 2875m Argentan Class E, and the influence he will have here depends on Yoann Lebourgeois. Chance

9. KOWEIT – Kicked the season off victoriously but has since lost his way. 8th of 10 finishers in a 2950m Saint-Malo Class F a fortnight back and with just front shoes off this time, will have limited chances

10. KENDO CASTELETS – Got off the mark in a 2825m Vire Class F on 8 May when barefoot for first time. Shoes off again and, even from the back row, can make his presence felt

11. KENAVO TUILERIE – Modest sort that came 2nd of 10 in a 2825m Bernay claimer last Monday. Sports a new formula but breaks from behind and not an obvious choice

12. KING BOLD – Makes first appearance since coming last but one in a 2750m Toulouse Class E late-February. Poorly-drawn and will need the run

13. KAMIKAZE – 4th of 10 in a 2650m Alençon Class F 3 weeks ago. Has yet to deliver on a hard surface and, even with modified shoeing, other options preferable

14. KOOL DU VALVIC – Sanctioned in last 2, latterly a 2825m Bernay claimer last week, and is unlikely to be troubling the judge

Summary: KADOR D’OURVILLE (4) did not enjoy the best of runs at Meslay-du-Maine last time out, but he has been showing his form and is perfectly-positioned to put things right. KUROSIO DES LOVES (7) is not ideally-placed but he debuts at Cabourg off the back of an Amiens victory and will be dangerous if Jérémy Koubiche can position him early. KINDER DANOVER (8) has been handed a poor draw but has been acquitting himself well lately and the same caveat applies. KOOPLES DE LARRE (2) has not been enjoying the best of streaks since the winter break but races barefoot for the first time and, from the 2-spot, should be taken seriously.

1. INDIA DU PONT – Unremarkable in 3 starts this term, latterly when 6th of 8 in a 3000m Neuillé-Pont-Pierre Class F, and can be confidently passed over

2. IRMA BABEL – Modest mare that came 10th of 13 in a 3125m Granville Class E a fortnight back and has no realistic chance here

3. IRENE FLASH – Not without merit but sanctioned in last 5, latterly a 2725m Graignes Class F 3 weeks ago. Hind shoes off but still not an obvious choice

4. IVA ROYALE – Last of 9, on comeback, in a 3150m Rânes Class F on 5 May. Has references, when shod, here but still has a lot more to find

5. IDYLLE DU CADRAN – Sanctioned in a 2900m Arras Class G on 20 May. Won twice when barefoot here last year and should not be entirely overlooked

6. INCONDITIONNELLE – 5th of 12 in a 2600m Class F at Blain-Bouvron-Le Gâvre late-April. Hind shoes off for a return to a hard surface and is not going to be far off the mark

7. IOHANNA THIEBEN – Disappointing 10th of 17 in a 2675m Class F at Le Mont-Saint-Michel early last month. Is proven here but with just front pads fitted, is not about to spring a surprise

8. ISIS DE CHANGE – Sprang a 32/1 surprise when winning a 2950m Saint-Malo Class F 12 days ago. François Lagadeuc at the helm this time and must be afforded respect

9. ISA DES LANDES – Regular for the most part, most recently 3rd behind INDIANA DE PLAY (11) in a 2800m Cholet Class F a month back. Is confirmed under these conditions but represents no more than a minor place prospect

10. IL PLEUT BERGERE – Barring her April sanction, has been in cracking form, most recently winning a 2750m Class E at La Capelle early-May. Franck Ouvrie reining this time and looks a decent first-5 chance

11. INDIANA DE PLAY – Pleasantly surprised when 3rd of 13 finishers in Ecommoy race of reference. Never closer than 4th in 6 starts at the venue though and others preferred

12. ICONE DU GARDEN – Useful mare but has not been seen out since faulting in a 3100m Vibraye Class F last August, and will need the run

13. ILOUANE DU VIVIER – Preparing for this when last of 9 in a 2850m Laval Class D 9 days ago. Shoes off this time and, if she brings her A-game, can win this

14. ITALIA JADOR – 9th of 13 in a 2750m Ecommoy Class F a fortnight back. Has ability but not the most dependable, although with a leading pilot reining, can show a more competitive side. Chance

15. IVRESSE NONANTAISE – 10th of 16, when prepping for this, in a 2750m Ecommoy Class F 2 weeks ago. Sports 4 pads this time, has excellent Cabourg credentials, and must not be underestimated

16. IN LOVE GEDE – 11th of 13 finishers in a 2750m Ecommoy Class F 2 weeks ago, but considering the entry, Guillaume Martin is not about to let this chance slip by

Summary: Highly-impressive early last season before being forced onto the sidelines, ILOUANE DU VIVIER (13) has had ample time to get her house in order this season and, barefoot for the occasion, can return to winning ways. ITALIA JADOR (14) is better than her recent numbers would imply, reverts to an earlier configuration, and with Yoann Lebourgeois reining, will have her chances. Just €35 short of exclusion, IN LOVE GEDE (16) has an ideal opportunity to make up for her recent Ecommoy blip. IVRESSE NONANTAISE (15) has a particular attachment to Cabourg and, sporting pads this time, will be no pushover.

1. IGNACE DE BAUBRIE – 7th of 13 in a 2950m Vichy Class F 2 weeks ago and has little chance of improving on that

2. I AM JELOCA – Has not been seen out since faulting in a 2825m Vire Class E 3 months ago. Shoes on and not a priority

3. INSTIGATEUR – 4th, a place behind IDEO JOSSELYN (7), in a 2450m Caen Class D on 5 May. Always gives his best, Alexis Collette picks up the drive, and is unlikely to let the side down

4. IGGY PERRINE – Never troubled when winning a 2800m Cholet Class E mid-May but takes on a tougher bunch this time and is unlikely to repeat

5. IMPERIAL DU CAPRE – Has twice failed to replicate his Rânes success, most recently 6th of 14 in a Class F at Villedieu-les-Poëles 12 days ago, and will have few takers

6. INVICTUS ORADEL – Has 2 races under his belt since the layoff. Sanctioned early though in a 2450m Caen Class D on 5 May and appears to have too much to do

7. IDEO JOSSELYN – Like a horse reborn since starting to race barefoot. 3rd in a 2450m Caen Class D on 5 May and is not incapable of going closer this time

8. IGGY DES RIOULTS – Tricky but capable sort making his first appearance since faulting in a 2875m Enghien Class E mid-March. Competitively-shod for re-entry and will be worth monitoring

9. ILLUMINATOR – Alternates the good with the less good but will still need to make up for his lacklustre 10th to INSTINCT D’AUTHISE (15) at Laval mid-May

10. IKILIK – Sanctioned on return from a break in a 3000m Class E at Le Neubourg 2 weeks ago. Will have come on for the run and, with application, can more than make amends

11. IGUAL BLUE – 10th of 11 finishers in a 2900m Arras Class G late-April and will have nothing to offer here

12. ICARE DU TRESOR – Has ample ability but never far from faulting, which he proved in a 2825m Durtal Class F 2 weeks ago. On better behaviour though, can get a look-in

13. IVARUN – In the frame in all 4 starts this year, most recently winning a 2200m Caen Class F in good order. In better company this time but still warrants respect

14. IN LOVE DE CHARDET – Good class of trotter that seldom disappoints when pointed in the right direction. Appreciates Cabourg, will be at peak fitness by now, and will be expected to figure prominently

15. INSTINCT D’AUTHISE – Hard to fault at present, winning 2 of last 3, latterly a 2850m Laval Class E a fortnight ago and, barring incident, should wrap this up

Summary: Currently enjoying a fruitful run of form, INSTINCT D’AUTHISE (15) also benefits from a fine entry here and, with Yoann Lebourgeois reining, will take all the beating. There will be resistance though from IKILIK (10) who sports modified shoeing and who has also won twice for Robin Lamy. IN LOVE DE CHARDET (14) has 3 runs under his belt and with hind shoes off and his trainer back in the sulky, must not be underestimated. IDEO JOSSELYN (7) makes his Cabourg debut off the back of some fine Caen performances and will justifiably generate interest.

Summary: JUNGLE JULRY (7) has a good record when unshod so vast improvement can be expected from her and she could bounce back to score. JAFLO GEMA (16) is capable of better than what she has been showing of late and could be a threat. JAVA MIP (13) is improving and should be right there at the finish once again. Summary: JOLVIK DE GUEZ (11) was a good winner last time out and looks progressive so could double up. JIVAGO BLEU (16) is very consistent and would not be a surprise winner. JAGUAR GEMA (12) is hard to trust and was disqualified last time out but is capable of contesting the finish. JOB DU CEBE (15) is likely to even better than the recent fifth-place finish.

15. MOODY CHOP – A 28-start maiden whose improved/consistent recent appearances have come at a lover level – the latest (4th) at Wissembourg in a minor conditions race over 3000m on 20 May

Summary: RESPLENDOR (2) finished an eye-catching 4th when reverting to the flat on his reappearance at Châteaubriant and, with the benefit of that comeback outing under his belt, is likely to confirm that encouragement with improved fitness on his side. Veteran mare AMIATA (11) has filled the runners-up berth in consecutive recent starts so she wouldn’t be winning out of turn and is also a serious candidate for success. However, the same could be said of hard-knocker CROCUS BORGET (6) who has finished 2nd in back-to-back recent outings too. FEEDESREVES (4) and LE HOULME (8) complete the shortlist.

SELECTIONS

Summary: INSPIRADO (1) bounced back from a disappointing previous outing to finish 2nd on handicap debut at this venue last time. He needs only to confirm that form/improvement to open his account. However, he will have to thwart the likely challenges of resurgent O’WOOD (2) and Henri-Alex Pantall’s runner CHANAZ (9), whose performances at this level recently have been encouraging. Consistent MIRADERO (4) and LIKING (5), runner-up in a claimer last time out, appeal most of the remainder.

5. TRAV’LIN LIGHT – Failed to confirm the promise of her debut 4th over 2100m by only finishing 7th over 2200m on 5 May at ParisLongchamp. Improvement needed

Summary: ZERAFA (4), whose second dam is none other than the champion Zarkava, has revealed sufficient means in 2 starts (finished 3rd on both occasions) to suggest she could win a race of this nature, especially with this extended distance likely to unlock improvement. PAY TO LEARN (1), with Group I entries to his name, fits a similar profile and ought to fight for victory, despite conceding weight to the selection. GIBRALTAR (2) confirmed the promise of his debut (4th) by finishing 3rd last time and will make his presence felt if building on that improvement.

Summary: O’MONERIE (3) didn’t go unnoticed when finishing 6th on her return from a break last time. She would’ve tightened up since and represents good value under these conditions, with the aid of Coralie Pacaut’s 1,5kg allowance. SICILIA (4), as the joint top-rated runner in the race, is also favourably treated by the conditions so ought to fight for victory. Veteran PETERHOF (1) is another candidate for success given the strength and consistency of his recent form. LORLISALSA (5), under Antonio Orani with whom she has a good record, and SAGE DREAM (6) shouldn’t be underestimated either.

SELECTIONS
O’MONERIE (3) – SICILIA (4) – PETERHOF (1) – LORLISALSA (5)
